I see the deadline for signups has been extended to today, I have work until 6PM EST, would I be able to get in a quick sign up after that time or will that be too late?

If you can get in your signup by midnight in your timezone, I'll accept it.

Confirming the final deadline as 04:00 UTC, 19 April – or midnight Eastern tonight.

The following entry meets signup requirements and has been acknowledged and accepted:
Vakolicci Haven and Celeria – 150 entries, 7500 points; AVERAGE 50. STDEVP: 29.51; min-max avoidance score: 69.95.

An entry worth 100 has been removed to meet the requirements. I have contacted Vakolicci to determine the offending entry. In addition, there are two entries in visual impairment events without stated guides. Local guides will be provided to these athletes.

If there are any corrections, please submit them in a new post.

For the sake of practicality, when abbreviating The Ferret Lands, the word 'The' is usually dropped as it provides no meaning. Therefore, the name being abbreviated is 'Ferret Lands'. This is then abbreviated to 'FTL', the F and T from the ends of the word Ferret and the L from the beginning of the word Lands. As such, the Ferret Olympic Committee requests that the three letter code be 'FTL' instead of 'TFL'. Thank you.

OOC: Total coincidence that this also happens to be the abbreviation for Faster Than Light.

Ferret Lands: It was a typo in the OP/OP of the RP thread; your athletes have been entered under FTL. It is now fixed.

The following entry meets signup requirements and has been acknowledged and accepted:
Kannap – 19 entries, 950 points; AVERAGE 50. STDEVP: 15.39; min-max avoidance score: 100.

Signups are closed. This is now the OOC discussion thread for the Games, and will double as the results thread.

14 teams are entered in men's and women's para ice hockey, making for three groups (2x5 and 1x4). The top three teams from the groups of five and the top two teams from the groups of four will qualify for the quarter-finals.
12 teams are entered in wheelchair curling, making for a single round-robin group of 12. The top two teams will qualify directly to the semi-finals, while the next four teams will play in the quarter-finals.

I hate to be a pain, but is it possible you could use the other thread as results, or make another one? Their are quite long posts on this one and such things don't play nicely with my screen reader; that combined with long results posts is going to make things difficult.

Event format information
Para alpine skiing
All events are run as individual time trials, with each competitor setting a factored time based on the severity of their disability. The factored time is what will be presented in the results. All visually impaired athletes must race with sighted guides.

Para biathlon
Each competitor takes to the course in staggered starts, and sets a factored time based on the severity of their disability. The factored time is what will be presented in the results. Visually impaired athletes do not shoot actual rifles and use laser rifles with an acoustic system. B1 and B2 visually impaired athletes must race with sighted guides. Guides are not mandatory for B3-classified VI athletes.

Women's 6 km/Men's 7.5 km: There are two visits to the shooting range in these distances.
Women's 10 km, 12.5 km/Men's 12.5km, 15 km: There are four visits to the shooting range in these distances.

Para cross-country
Sprint: Each competitor sets a qualifying time-trial factored time based on the severity of their disability. The top eight athletes qualify for the semi-finals. The factored time is what will be presented in the results. In the semi-finals and final, athletes take to the course in staggered starts based on the severity of their disability. The first to cross the line wins. B1 and B2 visually impaired athletes must race with sighted guides. Guides are not mandatory for B3-classified VI athletes.

All other events: Each competitor takes to the course in staggered starts, and sets a factored time based on the severity of their disability. The factored time is what will be presented in the results. B1 and B2 visually impaired athletes must race with sighted guides. Guides are not mandatory for B3-classified VI athletes.

Para ice hockey
Teams are split into three groups. The top three teams per group (two teams in the groups of four) qualify for the quarter-finals. Each game lasts for three 15-minute periods, with a sudden-death 15-minute overtime period (five minutes during the round-robin) and game-winning shots if necessary.

Round-robin tiebreaker (two teams tied): Head-to-head result
Round-robin tiebreaker (three or more teams): Head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, best result against next non-tied team until two teams are left tied, at which point their head-to-head result counts.

Para snowboard
Snowboard cross qualifying: Each athlete takes two runs of the course in a time-trial format, with the top eight athletes in each event moving on.
Snowboard cross finals: Athletes go head-to-head in two-man heats, with the winner of each moving on.
Banked slalom: Each athlete gets three runs of the course. Best run wins.

Wheelchair curling
Teams will play a 12-team round-robin. The top two teams qualify for the semi-finals. The next four teams qualify for the quarter-finals.

Round-robin tiebreaker (two teams tied): Head-to-head result
Round-robin tiebreaker (three or more teams): Head-to-head results until two teams are left tied, at which point the tied teams play a tie-break game. A tiebreaker will only be played if advancement is on the line, otherwise the tied teams will be separated by their direct head-to-head result.

Rather strange that VI athletes don't use actual guns in the Paralympics, I didn't know this. As a blind shooter myself, real rifles with acoustic systems do exist.
