Baseball Bust Up!
Following the surprise 2-1 win over Deerfenland on game day 1, anticipation is growing in Beepee for the match against Northwest Kalactin.
The match against Deerfenland was watched by an estimated 71 million television viewers, making it one of the most watched events in Beepeean History. editors note - the previous record was held by an episode of current affairs programme Questions Without Answers. Estimates suggest a similar number of sports fans will tune in on 10 March, despite most Beepeeans not being optimistic about their chances.
Bumbling Baseball Beepee Head, Homer Unn, who has been widely mocked by Beepeeans throughout this tournament for his gaffe prone interviews had released a statement through PR specialist Luke Betta.
"Training has been going well for the team over the past couple of days. The team has been continuing to bond and improve their basic skills."
Mr Unn and Mr Betta has refused requests for interviews or any further statements.
Despite the statement, reports have been circulating of a recent training spat between players. Details have emerged that Phafjord Pack players Sung Jun-Ho and John Maier had to be separated by teammates after an 'incident'. One witness said that there had been rising tension between the players. The witness said "This appears to have started back in Beepee. Now, I don't want to suggest one of the players slept with the other's wife, but I hear she's pregnant and he's had the... you know... snip".
Star player Bruce Labare "These things are never anything serious", he said "the media is just looking for a story".
Facing an already difficult task in their first international tournament, Unn will be keen to mend any rifts within the team before game day 2.
It's pretty cool that children scored off a great national team such as you, and how a child kept you guys to 2 runs... I feel pretty confident for the next game
