Caleon itself runs its own national series, called the Caleonian Auto Racing Series (aptly abbreviated to CARS) and would probably run its own cars in this series if it were to participate. It’s likely that the leader of the points standings in the Premier league (the Delphi Premier Series) of it at the time of the opening of sign ups will be asked to partake in this.

Pretty much everyone runs their own cars. There are a couple drivers that got swapped around, but that's the exception, not the rule.

Signups will be opened next week, probably around the 22nd or so. I want a bit of separation between the likely opening of WBC 46 (assuming the bid is approved; can't jinx it) and this.

To the first time entrants I would highly encourage you to reconsider the use of well known or active stock car racer names in your signups. Swapping first names with last names to disguise them doesnt really make it any better. I dont know if there is a hardened rule against it but entering with unique and obvious real life names such as earnhardt, hemric and blaney doesnt require a lot of effort nor does it inspire any optimism regarding potential future RP contributions. Taking a little time now to think about your signups and develop a back story for them is pribably a better approach then just jotting down names from the sunday results pages to get into the field

I think when a car DNFs it should actually have a reason that it failed. I know just saying "DNF" can promote a lot of writing creativity, but it has also caused people to trip over and run over each other in attempts to get their RP out. I have an idea on how to solve this if your interested.

At the very least, there are websites where you can generate random names.

https://www.behindthename.com/random/

Most of the names I've got for the NSSCRA, World Cup and WBC teams have come from this site. Lot better than using names of NASCAR or IndyCar drivers.

Looking forward to participating. I've got some fun ideas for my drivers.

Bringing up again my idea for Chasers having bonus points based on their wins.

Also bringing back the battle for the open charter. But if home country wants to use it, they get priority.

Lastly, how about an All-Star Race? Get all active past champions (so far just Suzgar and Houston), all active race winners from last season and this season, "Open" winner, and fan vote (maybe everyone TGs you the name of a driver, and the one with most votes wins)

Oh well I might as well mention that in my opinion I hate the modern chase.

Considering it allows for champions like Kyle Busch (not much against the guy, but he did kind of miss more than a third of 2015) or for someone to win the first 35 races then come second in the 36th and still lose. And the elimination rounds... god why do we even need those.

Therefore, what kind of differences are there between the NASCAR chase and the NSSCRA chase? Is it just points or is it that stupid win and you're in system? Nothing against you, I swear, it's just Brian France. Run it the way you want. Sorry if I sound heated.

Trust me. They adore the Chase. You can’t talk reason into it. If you sign up, expect the regular season (which takes a ton of effort to stay competitive) to be little more than a qualifier. I’m pretty sure the same thing you’ve said about Busch has happened here. But that’s just the angle they go with, and it’s fun to take it as is...

Just view it as IC executives trying to make the league exciting and butchering the pure form of racing. Like NASCAR.

...Yeah, you've got a good point there. The prosecution rests.

It'd be better to rail on it IC anyways. (by the way I kinda already signed up)

It's tougher to do a traditional all-star race when there is a high turnover of competitors from season to season which is just natural in NS. Its also an added burden on the hosts that doesn't contribute to the season itself and doesn't otherwsie have a storyline. I did mention the possibility of a busch clash like All-Star race sponsored by Vilaye in the final RP from last season ( viewtopic.php?p=35166434#p35166434 ) which I could run myself in the build up to one of my races, during an off-week or in the pre-season or defer to Newmanistan if they had thoughts of incorporating it into their scorination schedule

That clash is a good idea. If ever we have exhibition events, I suggest all RP bonus for those events be cleared, as it's just for fun and has no bearing on the standings.

Yea, I mean particularly if I am scorinating it myself separate from the NSSCRA schedule that would be how it goes and invites would have to be sent out and accepted kind of like the CoH since entry into the event wasn't including in the competition charter.

On a separate note since we've advanced well beyond the "Try not to use real NASCAR driver names" suggestion - just as maybe a kicker for those who want to participate but aren't sure of their RP line or may not have the imagination to create their own drivers, the Following Vilita & Turorian drivers are currently "unsigned" for the purposes of the major NS Racing series (WGPC, WGP2, NSSCRA, HSC) and could be available for use:

Jama'obo Pegasii (M)
Anavella Ariiki (F)
Lotara Novorali (F)
Jixaka Motorai (F)
Turakki Mayelli (M)
Rulita Kikaba (F)

Just send me a TG if you are interested in doing something with any of these characters

Yes, that's another good idea. Allow drivers to sign with teams from other countries. Hey, WGPC does it. Lexi Patterson just did it.

There are also some "unsigned" drivers from the Sherpa Empire that I wouldn't mind letting someone else use:

#88 Liangmei Li
#47 Liuyong Xu
#96 Mengxia Shao

Xu and Shao's numbers can be changed. Li's should follow her anywhere she drives.

Also, if anyone doesn't feel like inventing their own car brands, the Sherpa Empire does not have many trade barriers, so basically anybody can ICly buy cars from TMW, AutoModi, or Hongxing.

I hear ya. But the Chase has been in place since 2004, so even though I agree with you in wishing it could go back to the old way, if we're going to simulate NASCAR then we have to have the Chase. I actually feel as though it really improves the RP of the competition, though. We do have the eliminations (the actual structure of the elimination rounds is TBD until we see how many races we will have), and they do add to the entertainment level of RP, here.

The number 03 is available and should be considered a good secondary choice for your idea. I’ll also give you advice about that persona. It might be fun to capture the spirit of that driver but have it represent your nation.

For example, I just created Phil Urnson ‘The Incinerator ‘. The -son relates it to my nation. Urn is a tribute. The best part would be writing the character consistent to the RL persona, but unique. Just think... You can create your own first racing family here. You could make names ranging from Earl Heart to Bill Everheart or Fernhard. Have fun with it.

I still left #03 for you, even though the Incinerator would like it.

Modified names and numbers to move away from that whole untold rule.

The “Joy” family is Caleon’s most popular racing family outside of CARS (no, this was not ripped from Mike Joy) and are a very aggressive family to their fans. Reddiër has been a friend of the Joy family since his childhood, and as such gained his own aggressiveness.

The Sherpa Empire wrote:There are also some "unsigned" drivers from the Sherpa Empire that I wouldn't mind letting someone else use:

#88 Liangmei Li
#47 Liuyong Xu
#96 Mengxia Shao

Xu and Shao's numbers can be changed. Li's should follow her anywhere she drives.

Also, if anyone doesn't feel like inventing their own car brands, the Sherpa Empire does not have many trade barriers, so basically anybody can ICly buy cars from TMW, AutoModi, or Hongxing.

Xu just got signed by New Northwesteros team. They saw his record as a Chaser as a reason to sign him. Of course you may still RP as him, but I will from time to time. What's his age by the way?
