I plan on including qualifying results prior to the main results.
Unfortunately, there's no way to incorporate crashes/mechanical failures that I can think of, but if someone has an idea I'd love to hear it.

Is that so? Then I suggest to give 1 point to the race's polesitter.

Maybe mech failures can be RPed, with crashes involving other drivers needing permission like injuries in the IBC

Everyone has permission to RP minor collisions with my drivers, but TG for permission before involving them in any devastating crashes.

It sounds like something that could make things a little fun IC, as if there was more of a fanfare around qualifying. So from the IC perspective, I'd be behind it.

So, I know everyone would rather have their own chassis, but any interested teams could use the Hammerhead chassis as well. The actual race version would look differently, but I'd come up with a special street edition in your team's colors... So it'd be like the shot of my car's street version. But again, I understand why people would want their chassis. I could also look into doing driver avatars, but that could get complex.. lol

Not competing with Van, but I'm offering my services too, when it comes to cars. It's not my own model though. It's for the same NASCAR game that used to simulate results for the past NSSCRA seasons. If you look at my first RP, you'll see how my cars look, so please specify the sponsors, numbers and other details if you want a car in that style.

Not the end of the world or anything, but you've been misspelling one of my driver's names. His given name is Liuyong, not Liuyoung.

All of my drivers are supposed to be ethnically Chinese with the names transliterated using pinyin. "Young" is a common syllable in some other types of transliterations, but it never occurs in pinyin. His actual name is probably something like 徐留勇.

Yo, so I've been looking at the results in WGPC, and I have to ask, is it possible to have the "laps down" and "retired at lap X" features of the scorinator they use there?

The big reason why xkoranate's auto racing part can't be used for NASCAR is that it will pretty much have the entire field DNF if you try to have a longer race with it, or the winner win by 3-6 laps. I've thought about using certain cutoffs within the results be "1, 2, etc. laps down" but think that'd be seen with me messing with the produced results too much.

A thought that did occur to me last night after doing the exhibition race would be to have the driver who finished the worst in each segment, DNF at that segment... or to create a certain cutoff time that a driver has to have at the end of each scorination segment, or they are considered as a DNF, which can be RP'd as a wreck. I really appreciate your feedback so far, so what would you (and anyone can chime in, too) think about doing that?

You're welcome, I love NASCAR too so obviously I'd want our simulation to look good.

The cutoff time is a good idea. Maybe you should set it not too high or not too low, around 5-10 DNFs in a race is a good amount.

Another suggestion from me is to do sample races after every idea proposed to see what the data looks like, what do you think?

Having it possible for people to not finish seems useful for RP purposes, since it would allow storylines about major wrecks. But it should be relatively rare.

Wrecks involving just one or two cars (at a time) are common, bigger ones are rare. In fact, races without a caution are even more rare.

Note that I said 5-10 DNFs. That usually means separate incidents or reasons for dropping out.

And the sample races won't be in the everything thread, just a way to see how changing things will affect a scorinated race's outcome. Still good?

People can also use the numbers to see issues. The way one driver fell from the Top 5 to 17 at the end made the perfect chance for me to add a little wall clipping. The numbers make for an interesting race. It may be a little exaggerated since this was a short 50 lap event, but it'll be fun for the longer races. Makes sense and gives lots to RP about during an oval track.

Oh and an update to my race event at Imperial Speedway. It'll be the Gryphon Supermarket 400. If Newmanistan wants to adjust the miles, he can. Not sure if he wanted two 500s in a row. A 250 mile shootout is possible too, with it being the second to last event of the season. I see it as a night race.

They should not be though of as "stages" in the sense that NASCAR now uses them, as no points are awarded after each segment. Otherwise, they are pretty similar to that.

The qualifying remains the same, with no one going a lap down or retiring, right?

And if you go out in Segment 1, that means your time in Segments 2 and 3 are voided, right?

Qualifying is the same.

I'm still testing a little bit, but I am do not think I want to change data to have certain cutoff times register as laps down.

You had a driver, Skip Stiller, in the exhibition race who was last after the first segment. That would have resulted in him being a DNF if I went with the plan I am thinking about. In hindsight, is that a result you would be ok with, knowing that if I did not "arbitarily" make him a DNF after the first segment, he would have finished 11th?
