I think travel restrictions are fair play and I wouldn't blame you if you just dismiss that war RP.

For what it's worth, I included something almost identical in my "Welcome to Hapilopper!" post before I removed it as I'd just rather ignore the entire situation. I don't think you were overreacting or being unreasonable at all.

That’s the reason one can’t just attack STK. Nuclear first strike allies. That’s probably part of why STK gets to live in peace IC. We’ve got their back. I’m also not sure if we’d have an anti shipping submarine in whichever reason the Yeezies are in. But we will point missiles towards Newark if they dare. So even if the war RP was allowed, you wouldn’t want it.

And also because you need consent to start major incidents within another’s nation.

Newark Aristocracy, quit it. The idea of declaring wars over the things that have happened in the NSSCRA is beyond the pale. I didn't come to NationStates, or NS Sports for that matter, to be involved in one way or another with a war and I don't think anyone else does either. Knock it off. I'm pretty sure everyone else is tired of this unnecessary escalation.

EDIT: Just got a reply from Newark saying he's OK having his drivers excluded from the Guangxi Telecom 400 if he gets to keep his war RP.

This is something not worth the bloodshed (even if it is just IC or a RP). Even a series of strongly-worded official statements (MINUS threats of war) would be much more acceptable.

Sherpa magic is exceptionally effective for defensive use, so a war's not going to do much damage. The Sherpa Empire absolutely SUCKS at power projection because Sherpas are terrible at seafaring and naval warfare, but it's very good at protecting itself.

It's longstanding canon that self-defense spells are one of the simplest and most effective things that blood magic can do.

I'm doing pretty well, STK. How about you? I'm taking what's called a tactical pause. I'm actually writing on other websites in different genres. I'll come back for one season or another. VMR went fallow for a bit just because I wrote so much racing over the past 2 years.

And the alliance is definite! We'd probably have the backs of most NS sports nations in a situation like that. War RP can be fun when done properly. I've run some fun conflicts. Collaborative military operations are more fun for me than battling other writers. Less competitive. More planning. There are a lot of hotspots in the multiverse...

Lexi had never asked for this. All she had wanted was to get a shot at the career Starlight screwed her out of.

I just want to clarify one point: it was Vamos Papi and Stafford City Speedway that really screwed Lexi out of the career. Starlight Suites didn't really do anything wrong towards her (unless I am forgetting something I RPed), career wise. It was always a one race agreement with their focus going to James McCurty afterwards. She shouldn't be that resentful towards Starlight, other then for the advertising they had her do. But she was a model before all of this!

In general, Starlight Suites is responsible and honorable as a NSSCRA sponsor. I think because I roleplay them as being low end in the hospitality industry with advertising and promotions that objectify women, they get rolled in to what I do with the SCS CEO and did with Vamos Papi too closely. As a company, there is plenty to dislike about them, but in NSSCRA they are responsible.

Same. All I'm doing on NS is the current NSSCRA season, though I did join the Arena Bowl and won.

Any IC explanation though? What does this situation need? A change? Franssen? That's been hyped a lot, right?

The Sherpa Empire won't accept your surrender unless you agree to pay reparations, and it's not all going to be forgiven just because there was a coup. They are convinced that Kohan supported the rioters, at least in spirit even if not by providing material aid. The new government and/or NSSCRA may need to do some negotiating with the Foreign Ministry if he wants to race in Guilin.

Same. Jebslund's not going to lift the ban on Newark citizens in the country until they're certain the situation is stable and not going to repeat itself. The coup is just going to cause a travel advisory to be issued as well. It's all well and good that the new government is calling off the war, but the fact remains that it got to the point of an exchange of fire.

There's something I never thought I'd have to say in a sports discussion thread...
