Is this going to be a running gag that Xannerian journalists can't spell my drivers' names? :lol2:

What do you expect? They can't even spell their own place names. (Brycline, Brycelin, Bryceline, Bryclyne) :D

No hate, X. You just need some improvement, and soon you'll be on the level of Van, Sherpa, etc.

Those could be transliteration errors if Xannerian isn't a written language or isn't written in the Latin alphabet.

Dunno, their drivers and sponsors have Western names.

I wonder if Sherpa journalists have problems with foreign names too. Besides that "Cassadaguo" thing you say about Qiang.

You're not a horrible storyteller and you could easily write like Sherpa and I. I've been writing for a long time. In that time I've taken a little here and there from a lot of different writers. Even up to this tournament, there are things I've picked up from people here to add to my style. Others have done the same. It's not about judging between who's good or not. It's a collaborative effort. Your team has definitely kept in the storyline, which adds flavor to the season.

The trick to RPing most tournaments is to get a good, early start. If you start off like you've been writing now, your teams will have more success. So you can easily be one of the top teams next season.

Edit: And STK is definitely not a horrible storyteller.

Adding to this, pace yourself. Starting off good is all well and... well, good... but running out of steam is how you go from top of the standings to knocked out of the running (getting dumped and replaced doesn't help, mind you, but that's neither here nor there.).

Trust me. If you want to win, you will need to fight fatigue and push yourself to exhaustion. Quality is better than quantity. But do both. I learned this lesson in WGPC 16. I almost lost because of a slow start. I had to push even harder from the early mid season to the end. The reason I lost NSSCRA last year is because of my push in the WGPC or WGP2, whichever one was ending at that time. So I had to back off NSSCRA just slightly. In that time I lost NSSCRA but won open wheel. Because you need to push every week, every cutoff to win. Pacing yourself will let more dedicated writers gain steam and end up in what always seem like 4 top cars (even in the WGPO).

Keep in mind, sometimes you have to pace yourself. I've paced myself as much as I could this season in NSSCRA while pushing for WGP2 II. That slight break helped Floyd and Kev slip out. I won a hard fought WGP2 battle because of my push earlier in the season, against someone who was trying to push at the end. I fought hard enough to keep Ellie in here. If I had taken even one more slight break, or maybe missed so much as one more cutoff this season, she'd be likely out of the season.

So it's impossible not to rest. Just know that if you want to win, you'll have to really push yourself. I know people have done more with less. My results aren't based on one or two lucky seasons, but all the titles I already list way too often.

Sherpa-language media doesn't cover NSSCRA very often. Most coverage is in Chinese, and their handling of foreign names varies. Where they keep the original name, they probably do make spelling errors. Where they come up with a Chinese version, how would you determine what the correct spelling is? For example, they usually call Lexi Patterson "乐喜," but who is to say if that is better or worse than using "了西"? (Both are "Lexi" in pinyin. 乐喜 has a nicer meaning if you interpret it as words instead of just sounds.)

Beihua's sportscasters definitely pronounce names with a terrible accent on TV.

If you are trying to get rid of all the typos and not blame them on the IC source, it's "Qiang," not "Qaing."

That has got to be the most commonly misspelled name in NSSCRA, and when I picked it, I honestly had no idea it would give people so much trouble. I forgot that a lot of people don't know how pinyin works. "Ch" and "q" are more or less the same in pinyin, but it changes the way you pronounce the vowel after it. "Chi" is like the "chi" in "chip." "Qi" is like the "chee" in "cheese."

Brycelyn is the official spelling, it's a parody of Brooklyn. The track I had planned to use was this, the Brooklyn Formula E track.

But I felt it had the same flaw as the other track I had wanted to enter and I deemed it to small to host 43 cars.

In that case, the Sherpa Empire does misspell foreign names. I don't think my people ever even noticed that spelling existed.

Lets not get carried away with our language when talking about RP. The contributions via RP are just one factor in scorination. There are other fixed inputs as well as random. No user can ever say they won because they RPd or failed to win because they did not. That is what keeps all of this interesting. If the results were predetermined strictly due to RP contributions or lack there of there really wouldnt be any reason to scorinate at all.

There are definitely other factors. At the same time, the reason I have been competitive in every race season over the past 2 years is my RP effort. Not because of random scorinator luck. But the way I increased my chances through fighting on the RP front. Your success last year was because of your RP effort. It's no coincidence that your team started getting more success after I stopped RPing completely. No factor would be strong enough to overpower my sudden lack of RP. Of course there are other factors. Your success in WGPC 14 came down to your RP effort, as did Jess and Terho. The best race RPers know this, or they should.

I will say this. Ignore my advice, new racers. Choose to just RP every now and then. I promise it won't lead to success. You can increase your chances. It won't guarantee a win. I can easily lose this next race. My RP isn't even necessarily the best. My point is that my push to RP as hard and often as I can once again brought me right into contention. I promise. If I did not push as hard as I have, I would not be here. It does come down to missing as few RPs as possible. For me this does come down to the time near the end of the WGP2, where I was fighting complete mental exhaustion to post for both.

So once again, obvious semantics do not distract from my point... Every team in the race at this point is here because of their long term RP effort above all other factors. Some people RP'd just as well and still fell short because competition was high. That shows how high the bar is, no? You aren't going to outluck an effort like that. You certainly can lose a tournament by not RPing.

Hey this is Xanneria's puppet I have a question.

Any chance I can do some RP in the final two weeks of the Marvin Spicer team, since this is the puppet I plan on using the next NSSCRA season? If not to get a jump on an RP Bonus for next year?

I don't see a problem with your puppet posting about plans to get into NSSCRA next season, but I think it's highly doubtful that it would count toward next season's RP bonus. Normally RP bonus does not carry over between seasons like that.

After the finale we are planning to discuss a rank system for future seasons, and the Xannerian teams would have some rank, but IMO your puppet should still be starting next season with a complete blank slate.

Rank system? I'm not sure on this. I know teams (or maybe drivers) have skill/rating points, but I don't think it should be presented as ranks. There is no ranking system in real.life. There are just good teams and bad teams. A tier system (with actual skill points, but hidden from the public) works better IMO, like VMR and VTM are rank A, Xanneria's team is maybe rank B, Central Shaneville and One Jamaica were rank D. Or if we're doing drivers, Suzgar, Houston, Qiang are A, Cocoabo is probably C, Shreeves and Andrew are D(F?)
