His fellow Mattijanans at MRT seemed keen to promote the younger and probably more talented Jasmin Kranjska. The new faces that had taken the WGPC by storm last season had filled most of the top seats in the paddock and the experienced drivers had been largely forgotten.
But for Alex, the time in the shadows was about to come to an end.
Whilst it looked like the high-profile seats at Nexus, VMR, TRAE and MRT were going to evade him, he still had a good chance of grabbing a decent seat. Bitten Heroes needed a partner for Juliano Lemos, Arada and MSA-Sinval were yet to make a signing, McPahen needed a good pair of hands to guide them back to form, whilst a whole host of new teams were looking to make their mark on the competition. Having an experienced driver to score consistent points whilst a flashy young talent scooted around doing the spectaculars would be a good way of doing that.
Omni Racing was one of those new teams on the block for season 16. West-East Timor had been a presence in the sport for a couple of seasons now and had come up with a great car for the WGPC 2 event. Their debut in the WGPC proper was certainly something to get excited about.
Of course the main reason Alex was interested in Omni was their active advertising for a second driver to partner Mick Schramm. They were holding a test-drive at the Baranburg circuit in West-East Timor after which a driver would be chosen for the coming season.
Having seen the notice for the test-session, Dimitrianov didn't hesitate in getting himself signed up for it.

Mr Anthonson
I can confirm that I will be attending your driver test at the Baranburg circuit on the 2nd February. I look forward to meeting your team and hope to be a part of your plans moving forwards.
Yours Sincerely
Alex Dimitrianov
Anything else would have to wait for now. Still, the opportunities were there for a 4th consecutive season where he wanted to be, mixing it with the world's best in the WGPC.
