With that, it is my pleasure to open up signups for the 42nd edition of the World Baseball Classic. (insert obligatory joke about the number "42" here). The World Baseball Classic is the longest running sports competition on NS Sports that does not entail kicking a ball into a goal. It is a competition that has seen a lot of great history over the years, and surely this Classic will continue that legacy. So, let's get this rolling! If you've done this before, you know what you need to do. This post also officially serves as a signup for Newmanistan.
How do I take part?
Then all you need to do, for now, is to declare that your nation will participate by replying to this thread. It couldn’t be easier! It doesn’t matter if its your first time or you have done this many times, you are welcome to participate.
How about my puppet? Can it join too?
Puppets are allowed but limited to one per master nation. The addition of your puppet is then at the discretion of the host.
Did someone say host? That sounds fun! Can I host?
Hosting any competition on NS Sports requires a lot of work, and the World Baseball Classic is definitely no exception to that. It’s not as easy as saying, “Oh cool make me host please, I wanna be host!!!11!1!one!” The host is the person the controls the operations of the tournament, and therefore they have a considerable amount of responsibility. As such, this privilege is typically handed to an established member of the community. However, anyone can make a bid.
A bid?
Yes, a bid. In order to be considered as a potential host, you must submit a bid. The important information to put in your bid is how you plan on structuring the tournament and your method of scorination, in order for the bid to be considered valid. Take a look at the last three winning bids to give yourself a general idea of what is expected in a hosting bid.

If you would like to submit a bid, you need to do so by January 24th, at 8pm Eastern Standard Time. At the time, the bidding period will close, and the World Baseball Classic Council will vote on the bid they feel is the best, or perhaps reopen the bidding period if that was necessary.
