United States of Devonta Men's National Soccer Team

Coach: Christopher Raktic [Interim]
Assistant Coach: N/A
Demonym: Devontan
Trigram: USD

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 30 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today and will play till retirement.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Danny Cake Vanburen [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 176 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 33 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons and reigning his final two year contract with the club before his retirement. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Ranger F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. on a four year contract, before being signed on a two year loan to Ranger F.C. in Oisinistan.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, resulting in a 1-0 loss.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, he was given back to Nordland F.C. on a four year contract.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Coby Lamar Rice [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 19 - Substitute

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Mathew Alexander Creasmen [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 6'1 - Weight: 174 - Age: 17 - Substitute

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first.

Russell is not a good all around player and plays best as a defensive midfielder, He is quick and knows how to mark men and pass well, He seems to work best in tight situations and does not disappoint. He has admitted that he needs to work on his crossing and needs to improve his average level dribble.

10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He now plays as a regular starter on the team.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Left Midfielders:

12- Mohamed Zari Abdullah [Mandiana F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Son of two Muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. His father had only brought the clothes on his back and a soccer ball which he passed on to young Abdullah. Abdullah was invited to play for Maxwell Soccer Academy and accepted the invitation. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, although in a surprising move he resigned with the club for four years.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. In January of 2016 he resigned with the club for two years.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, a minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. In January of 2016 he was signed to a two year contract with Harding F.C after attending their training camp.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Right Midfielders:

14- DeMonte Creole Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Edwards started playing soccer as a little boy playing local neighborhood kids in his backyard. At age ten he was admitted into the youth league and they soon recognized his potential on the national level. His youth team won two championships and made it to the semi-finals three times, Partly do to Edwards efforts on the team. When he started high school he started to play for his high school team. His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards returned from Seggenea and resigned a smaller two year contract with Harding F.C.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

16- Julius Xander Washington [Strag City A.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., an emerging professional soccer club. In January of 2016 he announced he would leave his club if his new contract requirements were not agreed too, but last minute a two year contract was signed. Instead of playing for Mandiana F.C. he was loaned of to Strag City A.C. in the nation of Strag for two seasons.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

20- Alexander Graham Jones [Mariner F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Alexander played soccer for his local youth soccer league before he joined his high schools varsity soccer team leading them to a city wide championship twice in his four years of playing for his high school, After high school he managed to get signed onto a minor league where he played two great seasons but with limited success. Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., he renewed the contract for another two years in January of 2016.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

17- Tyrell LaMarcus Owens Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 23 - Starter
Owens was the son of a minor league soccer player and was raised into a life of soccer. As a kid his dad made him spend countless hours practicing in his backyard. He soon joined his high schools varsity team and dominated on the statewide level. After high school was offered a chance to play for a minor league team or attend a university and play on a college level. Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals.

Owens is known for his short burst of fast energy which allows him to get around other players. This also makes him good at crossing, shooting, and passing. He lacks from a defensive standpoint.

18- Salomon Van Bundy [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Bundy played soccer in his early childhood but quit soccer to play basketball. By the time he reached high school he decided to give soccer another try and joined his high schools varsity soccer team. Through the next four years of high school he made himself known with in his city and with in his state, Many critics were surprised when he was not offered any contracts by a professional league team. He settled for a scholarship to play soccer at Humphrey University where he played with some success his next four years, Helping his team to three quarter-finals and a semi-final. Finally after long negotiations with Danza F.C. he was admitted into the professional league for a two year contract. Bundy has announced he plans to leave Danza F.C and try to play abroad.

Bundy is known for being able to play in fast paced type games and can mark players and pass well, This also reflects on his shooting capabilities. He lacks when it comes to defense and ball control.

Forwards:

19- Gerald Van Johansen [Harding F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 23 - Starter
Johansen’s father was a professional soccer player and loved soccer almost as much as his family it seems like. From his first steps in school he attended Gulf Coast Soccer Academy competing against youth league teams and other academies across the nation. He made himself known across the nation and lead his team to many high profile matches and lead his university to four championships. At the age of seventeen he graduated the academy early after signing with Harding F.C. a professional league team, The contract lasted four years. During his first game he wowed the United States of Devonta with his performance in his first match, He continued to impress to the point it was no longer surprising. It was not soon after his second year he became the #1 ranked forward in the league. Though he played well his team struggled as a whole till a better line up was made and the team made it to two championships, but lost both. He resigned with Harding F.C. for three years and is currently Captain of the national team.

Johansen is known for his fast attacking capabilities, He has noted skills in crossing, ball handling, shooting, and works best in crowded environments it seems. Johansen as great focus and is also a capable all around versatile player his only problem is he tends to not like to pass the ball.

21- Lamar Samuel Adams [Danza F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 157 lbs - Age: 18 - Starter
Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Adams resigned with Danza F.C. for a large four year contract. He currently is the second youngest player on the national team.

Adams is a quick versatile Forward, Using his speed to make good crosses and get through defenders, His dribbling and control are also noted. Shooting seems almost basic to him. Adams has also shown is worth defending using his speed. Adams sometimes gets too frustrated or has problems with bragging about his goals.

It was an interesting night. After a failed qualification attempt the Purple Knights had earned a call to join the Cup of Harmony, but with manager Lysander Ying Uing hanging by a thread to the job, and hoping to hold on for the upcoming Copa Rushmori, the roster for the Cup of Harmony came out vastly different than the team seen throughout the qualification effort. But with that came news that the Knights had called up long time right winger Anton Vader for the single match to earn his 100th cap, while also getting their two new starters Geoffrey Klingenberg and Randall Abl Bakr some gametime before the tournament.

With Vader in the match that did put an interesting twist on the game as Captain Miles Snavely sat out and the team played a 4-5-1 with Aleksandr Denisov the lone striker. While the night was not the offensive affair you would hope for in a friendly between the long time rivals, in their 28th meeting all time, the crowd in Atlantea did have much to cheer for. Most notably the halftime substitution of Vader who came off for Horatio Galludet in his first ever cap. He was not the lone first cap as Esteban Foh started the game in net, with Elvis Pacabel coming on in the second half, Seth Green, Kalvin Talbot and Sahler Moon would round out the nights subs. While the team ultimately failed to win the friendly, they did get to see some live action from some of the youngsters now pushing for the national team.

What's Next For The National Team?
@ Zoloroni Sports City Stadium - Zoloroni, Mercedini

After failing to qualify for yet another World Cup, Mercedini will begin yet another campaign in the Cup of Harmony with the team and the nation eager to add a silver lining to the cycle with their first WCC trophy in the nations history. The tournament will likely be one of the toughest experienced by the Golden Eagles with many mid ranking teams missing out on the World Cup and subsequently falling into the grasp of the Cup of Harmony. One other thing to note is that teams just outside the top 32 will have a larger than normal chance of going deep into the competition thanks to the result of qualification meaning nearly all of the teams from Pot 1 and 2 have qualified, with only a handful of lower ranked nations breaking ranks and booking their ticket from a lower pot. This means Mercedini (who were situated near the top end of Pot 3 at the start of qualification), now go into the tournament as one of the highest ranked nations in the tournament, ranked 36th in the world, four spots away from a commanding position to qualify next time around.

However, players and fans have been made wary of their commanding position in the Cup of Harmony, after their previous encounter with the Cup of Harmony saw them unceremoniously dumped out at the group stages as a Pot One side, an episode which ultimately resulted in the eventual resignation of Lyndainium's predecessor David Bjarnasson, so the Cenian gaffer would be wise to underestimate the Cup of Harmony, to avoid lightning striking twice in as many cycles.

With the Mercedinian Premier League going strong domestically but flailing internationally, there is more of a need than ever to put Mercedinian football on the map in general. Overall, 2017 has been a stellar year for Mercedinian sport with victories in the sport of tennis, hockey and football, and with the year drawing to a close, it would be the perfect opportunity for Chillotov and co. to round off the year with potentially the nation's biggest win of the year, although they will have to work for it if they want to plant Mercedini's name into the history books.

Dunnes Football Federation
NATIONAL TEAM
-COH 71-

ABOUT

The Dunians return to the Cup of Harmony competition for the first time, after a exit in the WC qualifiers. Dunnes is one of the lowest ranked teams in the COH, but will seek to punch above weight. Dunnes plays a moderately aggressive 4-2-3-1 which relies on attacking midfielders to generate the offense. The squad for the COH is a combination of a new generation of players and Dunnes' old guard. Bosun captains the team, as he has the most caps, and is widely considered to be Dunnes' most reputable player.

SCHEDULE

TBD

ROSTER

#01 Luc Preter/GK/Stevenson United
Age: 19 Caps: 3 Goals: 0

This will be the young keepers first tournament starting after taking over for long time national keeper Frank Reed at both Stevenson United and for The Natinal Team. A tall keeper, who has a powerful leg, Preter’s problem is sometimes that he fumbles the ball after blocking the shot. Already the keeper for Dunnes no 1 club at age 19 though, so he shows great ambition.
#02 Trevor Williams/CB/Dodge City
Age: 28 Caps: 19 Goals: 1

A long time staple in the Dunnes Football league, Williams is rebound for his tackling abilities. Ever the risk taker, Williams skills are complete as a defender, yet he is till working on becoming an aerial threat inside the box.
#03 Riley Petit/CB/Armory FC
Age: 27 Caps: 22 Goals: 1

Petit has come of a rough club campaign as captain of Armroy FC, as they failed to qualify for UICA competition for the second season running. Thus, he’s looking for something to prove in his World Cup campaign. As a defender he likes to sit back and control the pitch with his big leg.
#04 Louis Za/LB/Richland City
Age: 24 Caps: 5 Goals: 0
Za is a speedier defender, sometimes acting as a wing back when brought on to the pitch. Expected to be one of the most used substitutes for Dunnes this campaign, as he can be brought on to defend and still provide an offensive mindset.
#05 Chris Crump/CM/Dodge City (VC)
Age: 29 Caps: 25 Goals: 3

One of the old guard, this might be Crump’s last campaign for his country. A strong midfielder he can tackle and pass with the best of them. However, his shooting needs work.
#06 Julian Turner/LW/Hoima Warriors (BNJ)
Age: 24 Caps: 2 Goals: 0
Recently transferred away, Turner is a speed demon, but other than an equisite skill set, he can’t do much. Not expected to get a lot of playing time.
#07 Darren Tabaz/RM/AC Holmenkollen (COS)
Age: 20 Caps: 11 Goals: 3

As a new member of a club in one of the highest quality leagues in the world, Tabaz will be looking to impress the managers of Holmenkollen as well as his compatriots. A speedy midfielder who can cross and attack. Defense needs work but will be expected to contribute to the scoresheet.
#08 Benjamin Jennings/CAM/Stevenson United (VC)
Age: 20 Caps: 10 Goals: 3

The next big thing in Dunian Football. Jennings has always been at the highest levels ind Dunnes at the u17, u19, and u21 levels, and has now finally arrived at the elite team. Jennings possses speed, agility, and a raw power about him that makes him a true threat.
#09 Dave Botler/ST/Dodge City
Age: 24 Caps: 19 Goals: 4

Botler has been Dunnes’ true striker for quite some time now. Almost had the golden boot in Dunnes last season. A flashy forward.
#10 Bosun/CDM/Stevenson United (C)
Age: 26 Caps: 29 Goals: 10

Bosun is the field commander of the Dunnes national team. Constantly adjusting on the pitch, Bosun can make decisive tackles and go aerial inside the box all in the span of minutes.
#11 Atsushi Ryu/LW/Stevenson United
Age: 25 Caps: 28 Goals: 11

A short winger who can double as a left midfielder. One of Dunnes free kick takers, Ryu is sometimes criticized for not getting back on defense as much as the fans would like. They forgive him however when he brings Home as many goals as he does.
#12 Thomas Lai/LB/Stevenson United
Age: 30 Caps: 29 Goals: 2

The swan song for the long time defender. One of the most consistent players in the country.
#14 Zane Roscoe/CM/Deschutes FC
Age: 32 Caps: 24 Goals: 4
A controversial roster placement, as he has failed to do anything meaningful for club or country the last year. However with a lot of experience, still a valued member of the team, if not in a player-coach type of way.
#15 Ryan Mora/LM/Stevenson United
Age: 25 Caps: 10 Goals: 1
Another surprise pick, Mora is most likely on the squad because of the lack of depth at his position. Needs to impress in practice and in any playing time he gets if he wants to remain on the team.
#16 Xavier Pulson/CM/Armory FC
Age: 30 Caps: 25 Goals: 4
Another pick for expirence instead of relative form. An Armory hall of fame player though, and his exclusion would have annoyed a lot of fans.
#19 Martin Lucey/RM/Askatasuna FC (BNJ)
Age: 18 Caps: 1 Goals: 0
One of the rising stars in Dunnes, and looking to make his name known this campaign.
#21 Preston Fredricks/CAM/Stevenson United
Age: 29 Caps: 20 Goals: 10
Of the “expirence” picks, Fredricks might be one of the few that actually contributes. Will be brought on to quell the game down if Dunnes is in the lead.
#24 Brian James/LM/Richland City
Age: 21 Caps: 4 Goals: 0
A hidden jem in the Dunian leagues. Could impress if brought on.
#27 Aidan Lebouw/RB/Stevenson United
Age: 19 Caps: 4 Goals: 0

Noted for his tackling and for seeing passing lanes that would be invisible to others. Could be a future captain, as he provides great courage and bravado to the squad.
#31 Adam Reose/ST/Willamette Town FC
Age: 28 Caps: 5 Goals: 1
After somehow getting his club into the top 4 of the DFL, he’s been rewarded with a call up.
#39 Soren Pedersen/GK/Mckenzie FC
Age: 30 Caps: 4 Goals: 0
Third string keeper. If he gets on the pitch Dunnes has bigger problems.
#40 Trenton Buclles/CDM/Sparta Torspeda (BYN)
Age: 20 Caps: 2 Goals: 0
A younger player, he doesn’t have the resolve of a Bosun or Jennings. However he posses tremendous skill and passing ability.
#99 Julian Gollem/GK/Armory FC
Age: 27 Caps: 3 Goals: 0
Gollem is disappointed to find himself as second string after Preter jumped him in the depth chart. A fine goalie, just not Dunnes’ finest.

From the Desk of the Manager

From: Val Kylx, Player-Manager, Manechester City Hoofball Club
To: Izzy Worthette, Editor-in-Chief, Boldsport Magazine

Re: That farce you call the Galacticos Index

Ms. Worthette,

Or should I call you Mrs. Worthless, just like your publication's blatantly wrong "Galacticos Index"?

Anyways, I am writing to inform you of a glaring omission from your supposed list of the top football players in the multiverse: me, Val Kylx. I'm quite surprised at your failure to award me the "World Player of the Multiverse" title, and utterly appalled at my non-inclusion in any of your shortlists. I can only assume that this was an inadvertent mistake on your part, given that your publication has mentioned me by name on several occasions as an all-time legend.

While your past lists can be excused for not including my glorious name as I, along with my current adopted homeland, was stuck in temporal stasis, I can happily say that this is no longer the case and that my legendary skills are once more on display for the entire multiverse here in Manechester. Just last season I scored 29 goals for Manechester City and was the second leading scorer in the United League behind Pristina Shine, and I would've easily led the league if all my shots that hit the woodwork had gone in. After all, what's the difference of a few inches really matter? The papers back home in Slembana never failed to mention when I nearly scored,
so I see no reason why you should penalize me unfairly for a bit of frequent bad luck on my part.

I hope that you will come to your senses and recognize my supremacy among the multiverse's top players in the next edition of your awards.

Sincerely yours,

Val Kylx

Kirishima Football Association Presents: The Flardania National Roster for the 71st Cup of Harmony
"The Kitsunes"

Introduction/Story So Far
Flardania/Kirishima National Football Team also known as the Kitsunes are Flardania's best soccer players. Football is the national sport of Kirishima (Flardania) and the Kitsunes help showcase the KONAMI Premier League . After years of playing domestic play and tragically missing BOF 56 and BOF 57. Kirishima would later enter Baptism of Fire 58 and after just barely exiting the Group stage, Kirishima as the bottom #16 Seed upset #1 Seed San Llera and defeated Maretta to reach the semi-finals. The Kitsunes unfortunately finished fourth and bitter fans refer to the top 3 teams as the "Puppet Show".

Kirishinan expectations were much smaller going into the WC 71 and looked to at least qualify for the main cup. The Kitsunes looked like they were contenders early on but struggled as they were in a really difficult Group mixed with Kirishima playing too balanced a game against the high-powered offense while lacking enough offense to dismantle defensively disciplined teams. Kirishima would have a mediocre showing in the Cup of Harmony with the only notable news being the historic upset against Cosumar.

The Kitsunes then went into World Cup 72 with a miserable first half that had Kyosuke on the hot seat until they turned things around and finished 4th in the group, thus giving Hikaru the rank boost he sought. Kirishima then entered into WC 73 with the main objective being finishing at least mid table and entering COH with stronger momentum. The Kitsunes failed to finish midtable (4th) and enter the COH because they shockingly finished 2nd, a feat only predicted by the media in Saintland and won their playoff game to advance to the world cup proper for the first time. The Kitsunes Rank increased by 45, thus leapfrogging the team from 86 to 41 a reflection of the fast rise of the young Kitsune team.

World Cup 74 saw the addition of a new player, Konami Premier League Rookie of the Year Akiho Ubukata. The Kitsune sought to qualify to their second ever World Cup in back to back editions were a tight group and a heartbreaking loss on MD 1 and MD 13 made it seem that the Kitsunes may have to test their luck in the playoffs. The thought impossible unranked Union of American Democrats draw with 14th ranked Turori sent the Kitsunes a heart attack preventing instant qualification where as usual like previous WC and COH the Kitsune upset the strongest team in the group while getting dismantled by everyone else.

With a Historic World Cup 75 , Kirishima sought to 1) Qualify a third time and not miss out on a memorable cup 2) Try and finally Reach round of 16. With the Kitsunes ranked in the 20's and a group draw going according to plan it seemed like that history would be made, and made it was. The Kitsunes had multiple chances they lost due to draws against lowly teams. Emerging from the ashes of the Kitsunes failed campaign is a new rival. One unlike never before seen gone are the days of friendly rivalries with Devonta and in comes a rivalry with Nordeana and of bad blood and hatred for reserved for Anglatia. Not only did they rob the Kitsunes of a playoff berth, they did it in an insulting manner. Gone is the era of Kyosuke as manager, the inexperience fairy tale story of a civilian interim manager with zero experience who brought the Kitsunes to lightning success in qualifying. His failure in being unable to reach a Round of 16 outside of BOF 58 lead to his voluntary and unwanted departure. A World Cup 75 qualifiers that saw once star mid-fielder Seong Mi Soo retire at the end of qualifiers become the new manager leading up to COH 67. With the nation seeking the major tournament Round Of 16 spot the nation so desperately wanted she proved the Kitsunes were not cursed, as she brought the team to the quarterfinals.

With her WCQ debut in World Cup 76 the Kitsunes found themselves at the top of the Group with two upsets against Quebec but round up in a Group of death, not only failing to exit to group stages yet again but for the first time also failing to pick up a point. With the 1st edition of the Independents Cup the Kitsunes had a firm objective of winning silverware and came close to being in a position to do so before falling to Barunia in the quarterfinals. The Kitsunes entered WC 77 with a majority of the stars on the verge of their primes and the KFA under their new chairman, Sakura Katsuragi, had finally had a firm objective, not only qualify for the World Cup but to escape the group stages for the first time. The Kitsunes nearly did not make the World Cup but also were swept once again in the actual world cup.

Finally in World Cup 78,with Sakura Katsuragi serving only her second year as chairman, Kirishima finally left the group stages of the World Cup, sending the nation into a frenzy before losing a close match to The Holy Empire. The Kitsunes no longer have Papadopoulos in at midfield but they have Filipino refugee Miguel Tamayo who helped the Kitsunes reach the RO16.Despite this the team would be plague with misfortune and inconsistency with their mind seemingly elsewhere. Seeong Mi-Soo job has been spared by the KFA chairwoman for now pending the performance of Kirishima in the upcoming COH. One would imagine it will take nothing short of a deep run for the Kitsunes to maintain their standing in the world.

Kirishima, as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West, is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima means literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an archipelago comprising of 1,721 islands. They can be divided into seven large and major islands - Hontō, Zipangu, Yamatai, Reijima, Cheongug, Hanarejima, and Yajiriguni. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and the Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D. These people mixed with Japanese who were allies or already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior, along with the local Sungtaku peoples. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the French won one of their few theater conflicts in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.

Kirishima despite having an Asian majority population, has a decent sized European, and African minority. The nation is proud of it's very welcoming and tolerant attitude despite how it looks. It is a moderate nation that can be very liberal on some issues and conservative on others. One such noteworthy example is Kirishima's very sexually open society deeply embedded in the culture and Majority faith (Lake Shore Order/Houism) of the population. At the same time, Kirishima is a very Traditionalist society that sees Kirishinan nationality as a cultural lifestyle rather than racially inherited. As a quick way to tick off a Kirishinan is to not only not be a part of the culture but openly reject it and preach against it (3 strikes of doom). A very important albeit a random piece of information is the prohibition of smoking tobacco. Kirishinan people believe in a clean body and clean environment even before the world found out about those issues. One may be caught off guard by how clean and devoid of litter the cities and metro systems tend to be.

Staff Bio

Seong Mi-Soo Age · 30

This is now Seong Mi-Soo's fifth cycle coaching. She has played on the national team from World Fair III and BOF 58 until World Cup 75 qualifiers. She was a midfielder with high sports IQ and spent a majority of her time observing former manager Hikaru Kyosuke. She, like Kyosuke, believes that Kirishima should remain an offensive minded team as that what Kirishinans love about the game but the question has always been how offensive should they be. Mi-Soo believes Kyosuke was on the right track but decided to be a twinge more defensive that Kyosuke as to limit the counter attack capabilities of very defensive minded teams. She is currently on the hot seat.

Makoto Kikuchi Age · 27

Makoto is known as many things a boy? a girl? a miracle worker? Multi-Talented? Nevertheless she has grown up around sports and has always loved it. While attending school she participated in football, Track, and Field, Swimming, basketball, and cycling. She also was discovered for her musical talents she eventually had to choose what she wanted to do with her life and she chose sports and music. During the offseason, Makoto can be seen in dresses performing on stage or seen in swimwear photo shoots but during football seasons she dons a suit and takes to the field as Manager of the Akihabara Electronic OFC. The two different Makoto Kikuchi. In only her first three seasons she managed to build a solid roster and lead the Electric to their first and second ever title in her first two seasons all while keeping the Electric contenders into the present.

Yong In-Kwon Age · 38

In-Kwon is the manager of the Heiwa Wizards FC and had been a talented defensive mid-fielder in Kirishima's pre BOF days. He has a great understanding of counter attacking play and Sakura Katsuragi feels that his addition to the staff may be needed in order for the Kitsunes campaign at the very least mirroring their previous World Cup performance.

Ae Mi-Yeon Age · 24

Yes the KFA has provided information on the trainer/team doctor. Why do you ask? Because she is the team doctor and since she is part of the team, plays a role in the outcome of matches. With that said there is not much about her to say besides noting she is the team doctor of Akihabara Electronic OFC which is important as the doctor helps prevent injuries and make sure those injured return to field asap. Something needed in such a competitive domestic league.

Starting XI Bio

Miyoko Hōjō Age · 25

If you live in Kirishima you know her, if you watch Kirishinan games you know her, if you have ever faced against Kirishima you know her. Miyoko Hojo is a former culinary student specializing in Chinese Cuisine. As an athletic individual, she was noticed by both basketball and shockingly football scouts for her potential, height and vertical. She decided to give football a try as it had a more flexible schedule and less chance for injury. The rest was history as she has helped lead the Kitsunes to World Cup Qualifications in each of her first three World Cup experiences as well as keeping Olympique Imgeum-Si as a serious contender domestically. The scary thing for the opposition is her natural ability makes her a top goalkeeper. With her reaching her prime and understanding the game more, she provides a get presence in the goal.

Miguel Tamayo Age · 20

The young Filipino refugee and emerging rookie of Anegaoka, Miguel Tamayo was seen as an integral part of Kirishima's success in the previous World Cup. Miguel as a former rookie of the year looks to hold down the fort defensively as the Kitsunes seek to escape from their World Cup group yet again.

Claire Nguyen Age · 26

Young, beautiful and relatively unknown until quite recently. Claire used to be just another defender on the Akihabara Electronic OFC when in one off season she gained a new manager in Makoto Kikuchi and two new players/eventual best friends Joseph Yabuta and Ayame Fujisaka. Nevertheless, the talent that surrounded her raised her game and she took the league by storm. She is quick, precise, and currently known as the slide tackle queen of Kirishima. The one question that is wondered is will she still be as motivated if she played for someone other than Kikuchi or her two BFF? Nevertheless thankfully for her as well as the fans, do not need to find out as her two best friends are also national team material.

Ayame Fujisaka Age · 25

Speaking of Claire's best friends, Ayame Fujisaka at just the age of 21 became the brains of the national team. Despite his age, he now had enough experience to be the captain of the squad, a fact that many Kirishinans have known for a long while. Yes, I said he no he is not a she as he is not transgender. (What a tongue twister) Ayame is well known for his cross-dressing nature but doesn't let your guard down around him as on the pitch he is known for his high football IQ. He is so friendly and knows how to motivate and cheer up anyone. The men and women on the team have always look to him even without the armband. You need someone to talk to he is there, your sore and in need of a massage, he is there. He will do literally anything for you to ensure you will play your maximum potential. He is a reason why Claire has gotten so good. If Seong and Kikuchi are the coaches on the sideline then Fujisaka is the coach on the field. A reputation he has proved and established since his debut with Yabuta on the Kairaku Nymphs before they both went to Akihabara. He is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles.

Koharu Miyamoto Age · 24

Koharu is a free spirit both on and off the field whose player type resembles Miyoko Hojo. She is the type that had no prior football experience and was recruited solely based on various intangibles such as speed and stamina in her specific case. A long distance track star in school her father recruited her to play for his Nabaek Sylph a move that had fans stark mad. Sure just a season prior Hojo found success, left back was different from Goalkeeper and many saw it as a parental preference. Koharu worked hard to salvage her father's name and proved herself to consistently be the first name on any teamsheet. If that was not enough, she added goal scoring to her arsenal so any team unprepared may find themselves shocked by the defender who is the most likely to score in a corner or even more shock to see her sneak past a lagging defender, receive an onside through ball and drill in a goal....once again I remind you she is a defender.

Rin Mizoguchi Age · 21

A year younger and teammate of former rookie of the year, as well as current Primer League champion and first time NT starter, Akiho Ubukata. Cup of Harmony 67 saw the teammate replace the other as the starter. He has helped put Hyuga back on the map and like Akiho is a local from Yamatai prefecture. Seong Mi-Soo is looking to re-add some male strength to the midfield position and it's also hard to deny one of the team's goal scorers a spot. In recent performances, he has been a consistent threat and contributor to the Kitsunes goal scoring endeavors

Son Dae-Han Age · 20

Filling the big shoes of Papadopoulos lies the young Son Dae Han. Dae-Han has been putting in alot of work for his hometown team of Imgeum and had started some matches in the Kitsunes memorable World Cup 78 run. It will take some time to see what exactly he brings to the table and what his role will be. No pressure right?

Ako Izumi Age · 25

Ako is an intelligent, opportunistic, and team oriented girl who is the best passer on the team. Her sole purpose in her opinion was to make others look good though her passing. She loves dribbling the ball and feels immense satisfaction after an assist. Ako has become more of a scorer since she left AC Kawajiri Tanuki, while she did not appreciate how Bianka Schraeder from Armeia treated her team, Ako seemed to realize that while the assist was great she had to once in awhile score herself should the opportunity arise. She is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles and a key part of the Ballista with her specialty being her goal scoring from free kicks.

Renée Guidice Age · 22

This may be a bit surprising to some but Renée Guidice has earned a place in the starting rotation over Sayo Matsuoka. Renée is a goal scorer who was eventually eclipsed by Sylvain Gainsborough and Nita Jagr. With her dissatisfaction in the club's direction, Renée joined LB Koharu Miyamoto and Midfielder from Cosumar Li H'sen Lang in Nabaek. Having found a resurgent in her game Guidice was a high-impact scorer while Matsuoka's Matthew Mets struggled. Renée has taken advantage of this opportunity and does not seem poised to lose that spot anytime soon. On and off the field Renée is a friendly soul who serves as a role model in sportsmanship and character.

Josuke Ichikawa Age · 24

Josuke is a phenomenal scorer who is often seen as the main rival to Yabuta. A few World Cup qualifiers ago his Childhood friend since elementary school Sayo Matsuoka took his spot. However, his impact was missed and rather than replace Matsuoka who played well, Ichikawa replaced Nayasaki, thus putting the two Enrika natives at the wings. With Matsuoka coming off the bench, Jouske is more determined to ensure he maintains bragging rights in regards to his and Sayo's careers. Josuke has good ball control and has a dangerous cross that can change the flow of any game suddenly. Penalty kicks are his greatest strength and no one is more calm, cool, and collected as he is.

Joseph Yabuta Age · 25

Despite what this humble young man would say, Yabuta is the undisputed star and goal scorer for the Kirishinan national team. Yabuta loves to score and scores he can whether it be left foot, right foot, head, knee, etc. Yabuta plays to have fun and his speed is borderline unfair. In his four-year career, Yabuta has won four championships (1 with Kairaku, 3 with Akihabara). It is safe to assume that if Kirishima scores in a game that Yabuta was behind it. This means he either scored or at least assisted on a goal. That type of consistency is very valuable. Yabuta joins his best friends Ayame and Claire in this year's national team as he remains a crucial cornerstone to the generation of miracles.

Tactic: "The Supported Ballista" 4-3-3 +3.83
Manager Seong is still using Kyosuke tactic at least until the end of Cup of Harmony. She is a bit more focused on counter attacking with her notable defenders Ayame Fujisaka who has a great mind for the game and the tomboy former University track star Koharu Miyamoto whose speed, passing and footwork enables her to get up the field quickly and in the position to opt a pass to a midfielder. However, in this version, Miyamoto does not join in the attack and after making a pass retreats back down the field. Claire Nguyen had a great season with Akihabara and is on the starting line up with teammates Yabuta and fellow center back Fujisaka. With Izumi and Papadopoulos on the field, they can place the ball in a great positioning of any of the Kitsunes capable strikers like Yabuta to drill the ball into the net. Also with Yabuta's almost unnatural ability to score of volley's it will become obvious how Yabuta made the Baptism of Fire 58 squad. Guidice and Ichikawa will provide offensive support. Seong Mi-Soo hopes that this will put less pressure on Hojo who can only handle so many counterattacks.

FOOTBALL HISTORY

Rejoice as the thick curtain that has surrounded the island state of Buyan for the past decade has been lifted – not without the help of a little firepower, that was. Some of you might recall that back in 2025 the reign of Kazys Portnii, a post-communist ruler with fairly ridiculous but, most of the time, clinically benign quirks was replaced by an iron-first tyrant in Henrik Luberg. The man, whom we until recently all had to call the General, replaced a sympathetically backward dictatorship by a harsh and repressive regime. Not afraid to murder a share of his citizens, it seemed sensible – well, to him – to lock down all the borders and give those still attempting to get away a bullet-induced death.

One of the least enjoyable side-effects of Lubergs paranoia were his decisions to declare that Buyanese at the ‘wrong’ side of the border – ‘wrong’ entirely depending on your point of view here - would no longer be considered citizens of his fierce republic. On top of that, he forbid any further representation of Buyanese national teams, presumably avoiding further fleeing opportunities. Too bad as especially when it came to football, the Hedgehogs had built up a pretty fine reputation so far. That their success had been based on the excellent effect from foreign managers Sirius Hope, Reinhard Shale and Chris Maarsden certainly was something the new regime did not want to be reminded of. A nice scroll of honour, including two qualifications for the World Cup, a Baptism of Fire victory and two Campionato Esportiva triumphs in only twelve year, reached a swift and painful end.

Besides a painful end for the national team, the domestic Top Division was suddenly stopped in its tracks as well. Even if organised football, according to the limited news that reaches us from behind the iron curtain, still continues, the group of gifted foreign players that developed over the years have fled the nation – if they weren’t expelled. Grand names such as Viztourzys Kolektyvinis, winner of a Globe Cup and a CEdC, Bengtsmark IF, Champions Cup finalist and CEdC victor, and Blau-Weiss Pallstadt, the third club to win a regional title, no longer shine on the international platform. The amateur level, we can confirm, was numbingly drab and several magnificent names such as Tufte, Giertych, Dalmshelf and Lammerschon have retired.

In 2029, the UFC of Buyan, a gathering of political and social protesters to their expulsion of their native grounds, plead and begged amongst the few Buyanese footballers who were active in foreign competitions and almost all of them appeared willing to play for a new red-and-white. As the Buyanese Football Board officially opted out of the NSWC, it was possible for this group to partake – if only with a slightly different name. Amongst them, they’ve had gathered the remaining internationals still active, more often than not experienced players on the wrong side of thirty, and a few other guys who have integrated in the social network of their host country by playing football – not always that successfully. Guided by their experienced gaffer and civil rights advocate Sil Moen, they tried to qualify for the WC 74. After only a few games, they discovered that several secret agents had infiltrated their group and decided to withdraw from any further activity.

But the winter of 2033 saw a joyful change in atmosphere. It’s difficult to pinpoint what exactly ignited the fireworks in the political landscape of Buyan – some post-factum historians point to the revolutionary atmosphere in the whole Esportivan region, others point to the deteriorating economic situation leading to hunger strikes and a third category to a split amongst the closest supporters of the General, leaving Luberg exposed. Fact is that the straw that broke the camel’s back was an illegal publication with an overview of the ‘Best Buyanese Footballers’ which didn’t hesitate to laud those who earned their wage abroad such as Devold, Zemaitis and Marciak and included Sil Moen, probably the man Henrik Luberg feared most. His ludicrous reaction – burning piles of copies of everything football-related – started a popular uprising.

A few tens of thousands of deaths and a difficult yet – according to international observers ‘acceptably’ – open election later, the nation of Buyan had reincarnated in an enthusiast republic. Winning the election were the ‘Party of Liberators’, headed by no one but Sil Moen who added the title of President to a list that already contained former international and former manager. As could be predicted, his victory speech on the freshly rebranded Martyrs Square in the heart of Pajukas was met with a lot of applause, but mostly when he announced the return of the Top Division, the professional football competition, and the beloved Blue Hedgehogs. These Hedgehogs celebrated their return to the World Cup qualifiers with a set of decent results but were no match for sides such as Barunia, Mriin & Farfadillis, to end up halfway their qualification group. An acceptable start which was followed by an astonishing semi-final in the Cup of Harmony and a similar result in the Campionato. However, the qualifiers were a huge letdown and after an abominable start, the FA parted with Teriouris - who got replaced by Farf legend Ichi Tuzzio.

STAFF

Manager: Ichi Tuzzio, Image

Without any doubt, being the fifth official manager of the Hedgehogs, Tuzzio is the one with the most impressive career as a player - although Maarsden earned the title of domestic legend as well. Notorious across the multiverse, he surprisingly chose the role of Buyanese manager as a launching platform for his career and managed do rekindle the spirits by reconnecting Isaksson and Eklund, the offensive axis of this team. Not afraid to adapt the tactical scheme according to the needs, this manmanager gives Buyan a chance to refind its former glory.

KITS

Image

When you flee your home country knowing that every second of hold-up could be the second too much, there is stuff you forget. Old photographs. Food in the fridge. Large domesticated animals. And, apparently, the marvellous national shirts that were provided by AER Sportswear. Luckily for the UFC, Krytenia-based multinational kit provider JMC showed compassion, providing them with the magnificent shirts displayed above. When returning to Buyan, it appeared that Sil Moen still had those in his suitcase and as most of the groundkeeping staff in the national stadium had found an untimely death, the old ones probably never will be recovered. As nice as the JMC ones were, they were from the UFC, not from Buyan. As such, No Nonsense Sportwear was contacted for a third rendition of the national jersey and boy… Did they deliver. We might lose, but we’ll lose in style.

The Nine @ Dyatinsk (57,000 seats)

It's big, it's build on an unpractical location and if we believe the contractor, it's build on a swamp.
But it's also state of the art and featured some games in the Campionato Esportiva IX, hence the name. We’re aware it’s not being used this tournament, but hey, we like to share the info.

Image
STYLE & TACTICS

Style Modifier: -1

Ichi Tuzzio is quite flexible tactically, diverting between any system that allows two strikers up front and Isaksson feeding them. Between the stakes, there is no way to get past Pawlo Marciak - captain and a living legend amongst Buyanese. For years on end, he’s now been at the top of the Nepharim Premiership - for Buyanese the competition they consider as the toughest one out there. Despite his age, he still has got the reflexes and he rules the box. Especially for the young defenders in front of him, he’s gold. Gularis is a good back-up and might get some playing minutes in a dead rubber. Pallson is a new face but far below the two key goalies.

The defence relies on a trio in the back which will without any doubt be lead by Viggo Stromberg. Despite his age, he can bow on extensive experience with Bengtsmark and the national team - he leads without fear. For this campaign, we expect Haugland - learning quickly at Pikemouth and great focus - and good header Bjorklund next to him. However, the latter had a mediocre campaign and could get replaced by Hermansen, Vilminskas or Zych. The former has potential but makes a gaffe every once and a while, the second has good feet but needs guidance, the latter is a sure fix - always good, never exceptional. On the left wing, we see a veteran of many wars in Espen Raestad - still pacy with a decent cross - who keeps Nordin, a Raestad Light, on the bench. The opposite position is a bit of an issue - Okmiankas has good volume but struggles to always make the right choice. Grochala is decent, but untested on an international level.

The midfield has a typical lay-out of three types. First of all, there is a breaker and who but Scaffield hero at day, lumberjack at night Micaukis is a perfect match for that role? Experienced and tough. Alternatives are in Chmiel - improving rapidly at Bengtsmark -, youngster Waldow - silent force behind a good Ernesse season - and Vernerse, a talent himself but a bit surpassed by the previous two. In the number eight, we get a runner whose lungs compensate for everyone else. Gunnar Karlsson makes that position perfectly - a near-Knutsen some historicals say. He still edges out Hedlund, although many think that Premiership experience will make the latter move past him in a year or two. Other alternative is Dobas, silent but good and with a fine shot on goal. Wallenberg is… Something completely different. The ultimate wildcard with the amazing feet. Last but not least, there is an artist, an architect on the ten and Valter Isaksson is uncontested there. Brilliant player, great attitude, fits in the tradition of The Great Buyanese such as Devold or Kluszak. His heir to be is Reidar Bjelland, a diamond who is getting honed and who should learn from the hunger for perfection from Isaksson. Nyberg and Herdrich are the closest thing to wingers-who-are-not-wingbacks Buyan has to offer these days. Both have pace, two good feet and are polyvalent. The former plays at IF, the latter tends to lose his head - key difference.

Lastly, the partnership in attack is based around a long, tall striker and a more flexible attacker circling around him, trying to live of whatever gets dropped off. Buyan has a pretty strong batch of targetmen these days - however, the starting position will definitely go to Emil Eklund who just broke the transfer sum record. The Ten Million Man excels in the key games. Alternatives are young talents Gustloff and Kesselbaum who rock the Top Division, although the former seems a bit more tested under pressure. Losnedahl is a good fellow for our top tier but might be just not good enough for a World Cup squad. For the ‘quick guy’, there’s less wiggle room. Preference from Tuzzio sometimes goes to former Viztourzys man Kaukenas. He’s got an eye for goals, a bit of a poacher but is difficult to rely on. Hotblooded, some would say. Jon Fossum developed quickly over the last few years and his fine Campionato should give him minutes on the pitch. Herbjornsrud is an underestimated survivor of the first generation whilst Hostmann is… Good question. An ace up the sleeve or an old has-been, we’re not sure either.

The Island Shreiker
IT'S BACK IT'S THE FOOTBALL
By Sauve Katie

IT'S ALL HERE AND IT'S ALL FOOTBALL ALWAYS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE FOOTBALL BUT YOUR BEST CHANCE IS HERE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF FOOTBALL EACH MORE CLIMATIC THAN THE LAST CONSTANT DIZZYING 24 HOUR YEAR LONG FOOTBALL EACH KICK OF IT MATTERING TO SOMEONE PRESUMABLY WATCH IT HERE ALL THE TIME FOREVER IT WILL NEVER STOP THE FOOTBALL IS OFFICIALLY GOING ON FOREVER IT WILL NEVER BE FINALLY DECIDED WHO HAS WON THE FOOTBALL THERE IS STILL EVERYTHING TO PLAY FOR AND FOREVER TO PLAY IT IN SO THAT'S THE FOOTBALL COMING UP WATCH IT WATCH THE FOOTBALL WATCH IT IT'S GOING TO MOVE IT'S FOOOOOOOOOOOTBAAAAAAAAAALL!

Anyway

The Soggy Islander's international adventure continues as we travel to Qasden, a place we actually visited during qualifying. The Soggy Islanders are here to play in the 'Cup of Harmony', a tournament for those who fall short.

Now, qualifying actually provided some hope for the team going into the tournament, the final five games saw the Soggy Islanders go unbeaten, with high profile victories against HUElavia and the Republic of Kaboomlandia. There was also a very well fought draw against Bonesea in the final match. As a consequence Friar Johnathan has made very few changes to the starting line-up, in fact the only change is that substitute Saucy Adam has been replaced with Flatcap Dave due to injury.

In the goal:
Obese William

At the Back:

Soggy James
Relatively Dry James
Woman Dave
Old Granny Sherry

In the Middle

Friar Johnathan (Captain)
Cool Simon

Daddy and Diddy Dave

Upfront

Crinkly Joe
Herman the Hermit

On the Bench

This lot form the backup for our main squad. They have no fixed position and will probably just come on for whoever's tired.

Cuddly Samantha
Girl Dave
Red Peter
Flatcap Dave
Stinky Sheila

The team has been drawn in one of the larger groups of five, hopefully the rather small squad has the stamina to make it through. We face off against Flardania, Equestrian States, Banija and Pridnestrovia. All of these team are of a reasonable standard, Flardania were only eliminated from contention for qualification on the very last game of qualification. Equestrian States made a much better run than us, as did Banija. Hence the Soggy Islanders are only fancied in their game against Pridnestrovia, otherwise the entire tournament will be a slog, the chances of us making it to the second round should currently be considered slim, but football is far more pre-disposed to shock results than any other.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes (Must be silly and non-fatal)
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes (Within reason)
Godmod other events: Yes (Only kill innocent bystander please).

Style mod = -5
OOC: For full disclosure the start is from a Mitchell and Webb sketch.

Banijan form in the gutter; can they fix it at the 71st Cup of Harmony?

Image
Sia Fall celebrates goal against Banijan rival Devonta

QASDEN- The Kingdom of Banija had their best World Cup Qualification to date in World Cup 79 Qualifiers. IT was the only time where, towards the end of qualifying, Banija was a legitimate threat to qualify and go to the World Cup Finals. However, a late qualifying loss away to Eshan, which was expected, was followed by a shock upset loss 1-0 loss to Lambdasia, and that was it. They put up a spirited fight against Chromatika, though they eventually fell 2-1, and they also fell 1-0 in the final qualification match, at home to Buyan. Though they had rattled off 8 wins in 9 matches in the middle of qualifying, their doom was losing 3 of their first 4, starting poorly, and also finishing poorly, losing 4 of their last 5 in this 18 game marathon.

That said, even though they ended qualifying losing 4 of 5, they had high hopes going into the Cup of Harmony. After the season ended, the RBSA scheduled three games for the Kadongo Kamu- the traditional game against rival Devonta, dating back to when Banija was in United Valhvaen, and home games against both Juvencus and the Equestrian States. With 7 players in the squad who had never earned an international cap before, it was a decent schedule.

However, the friendlies did not go well. Devonta, of course, is ranked well ahead of Banija, and it was always going to be a tough trip for them. Still, it was a 3-3 thriller where Banija fell in penalties. Chibuzo Afolayan, the Banijan winger who is going to play for the Nepharim capitol club AFC Corvistone, scored twice against Devonta, while Sia Fall scored the 90th minute equalizer to send the game to extra time. While nobody could score in extra time, the game went to penalties, and the hosts were indeed the winner.

Of course, then Banija came home to play a couple of sendoff games before they make the relatively short trip to Qasden. They played at Sisonke City Park against Juvencus, where they fell 3-1. And then, of course, in their final friendly, they played the Equestrian States, and fell 2-1. Those two home losses will not sit well in the mouths of Banijan fans, who are used to winning at home, especially with what will undoubtedly go down as a legendary upset over 4th ranked Chromatika on home soil. Nega Bazin scored a goal off the bench in both games on home soil.

Of course, that means many fans are indeed worried. But should they be? Randolf Cherry says no. "We have to get the kinks out of the team, and integrate players into the squad. That's why so many players played in all of these games- everyone to see time, try out different combinations, and what not. This is perfectly normal to happen before a major tournament. This team is long overdue to make a serious splash on the international level, and this could be our opportunity. We have a tough group, but we also have a fearless squad who is ready for anything."

The teams in Banija's group are 19th ranked Flardania, 61st ranked Equestrian States, the same team Banija just lost to, 105th ranked Somecoldwestislands, and 132nd ranked Pridnestrovia. That puts 88th ranked Banija as the 3rd highest ranked team in this tough group. As they need a top two finish to advance, it is something that will be quite an ask of this side, who has never reached the knockout stages of the Cup of Harmony before. The one fortunate thing they'll have going for them is that they've already played the Ponies, so maybe they can make some strategy adjustments.

Ultimately, though, they'll have to figure out what isn't working right now, and how to make it work. Will new additions like Yitebarke and Riga make an impact coming off the bench? Their campaign will start against Somecoldwestislands. Hopefully, Banija can gather some momentum in that game for the path forward, as look to start fast. They will look to contain players like Friar Johnathan and Herman the Hermit, while Banijan wingers will to get behind the back line, and score goals at the clip they were scoring them at during their run of matches in the middle of World Cup Qualifying.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes(please specify what the injury is and how long they will be out)
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes(please specify what the injury is and how long they will be out- But please don't kill anybody!)
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod other events: Yes
Style Modifier: +3

Basically I'm cool with whatever besides godmodding the actual scoring events... I'm not a fan of something crazy like an eagle picking up the ball, flying it across the field, and dropping it into the goal. Other than godmodding the actual goals, do whatever the actual heck you want... My players could be arrested the night before, big brawls, etc... Amazonestan fans have the passion of South American fans, so they will absolutely keep your side up all night in the team hotel with drums and horns. So whatever suits your fancy, besides godmodding the actual goals.

I ask you not to kill anyone on this team, as I don't scorinate a domestic league for Amazonesta, which means I don't have a huge number of players to draw on to replace the squad if everyone dies in a plane crash.

Manager: Jehan Blair, native of Cosumar. 59 years old. Won promotion for West Gundar and kept them in the Härlighet Ligan for several years, reaching as high as 6th. That success took him to bigger club Crawford City FC, but it didn't work out in three turbulent years. A former striker, Bair specializes in getting the most out of his strikers. Famously developed the likes of Mursill Lubiflor and, oh yeah, Romikk Valgard at West Gundar. Overall, his teams play some sort of high-octane two-striker style, which he is great at implementing. His critics, however, say he can't organize a defense properly. Unapologetically blunt, Bair is unafraid to come in and make massive changes at a club as he sees fit.

Notes:
- This is an attacking oriented team. They push forward quite a bit, which means they are very susceptible to conceding on the counter-attack.
- All penalties will be taken by Luciano Rodrigues. All free kicks will be taken by Nicolas Boaventura.
- This is a team known for its emotion, as this sport is easily the #1 activity in Amazonesta. Therefore, all goal celebrations will be a little bit drawn out, especially at home. Yellow cards for Amazonestan players are common during celebrations. Fans have been known for pitch invasions if they cause a particularly large upset.
- Amazonestan supporters at tournaments are known for drinking heavily and taking over bars, which means a group of Amazonestans on game day is quite likely to get violent.
- In terms of substitutions, you can substitute off anybody besides Boaventura and Rodrigues. They will always play the full 90 minutes, unless they suffer a serious injury that does not allow them to complete the 90 minutes.

Schedule - Group D. Top two go to the knockout stages

Falcone officially passes on baton as he will come off the bench for his final international tournament

Image
Nicolas Boaventura(left) and Luciano Rodrigues(right) will now take charge of the potent Amazonestan attack

ETHANE- This day had to come eventually. The generation that won the 61st Baptism simply cannot go on forever. They had to retire one day, and now, that day is upon us. Omar Falcone, the Amazonestan legend who scored the game winner in the final of Baptism of Fire 61, will finally have to bow out. After a venture to Isula Reale that did not necessarily work out when the league could not get off the ground, this is indeed his final tournament as a professional. The consumate professional, the warrior, the passionate player, the man who simply carried the team in the later stages of their finest hour, the Baptism of Fire, will finally have to retire from international football. This is his final international tournament, and he says he will look to play one more club season before he hangs it up completely.

Alongside Leonardo Rosalez, who is also 35, Julio Leal, who is 34, and Videl Posada, who is the elder statesman of the group at 38, the last of the generation that has the Baptism of Fire 61 winners medals will finally be retired. And maybe that's a good thing moving forward. This team, and its fans, have a history of living in the past and soaking in nostalgia of their emphatic entry onto the international scene, though they neglect to mention that the national team has not done much since they won all 7 games at the Baptism of Fire and took home the huge trophy that they keep on display in the Estadio Nacional.

Who will replace Omar Falcone? Well, it will obviously be a group effort. But the main culprits of course, are Luciano Rodrigues and Nicolas Boaventura. Rodrigues is a true #10, although Leonardo Rosalez still wears the actual number. Nicolas Boaventura, on the wing, is the other major talent. They both have proved that they can do it on the international stage. Boaventura and Rodrigues are 2 and 3 on the Amazonestan all-time scoring list, with Boaventura having 25 international goals to his name, while Rodrigues has 16. Those two now have the weight of the national team on their shoulders.

They both play in competitive clubs abroad- they both play in Flardania, who are one of the early favorites to win this whole tournament, which shows the quality of their players in their own domestic league. Can they can score for their country the way that they score at their clubs? It's pretty hard to tell. They will face the pressure of Falcone not being in the game. Of course, the player taking his actual spot on the field is neither of them, but 25 year old Guillermo Madruga. He is coming off back to back Banijan Soccer League titles with Herzegovina City FC, and he'll look to prove that he can help fill Falcone's shoes.

Manager Jehan Blair said that the idea that one person can fill Falcone's shoes is "'totally false'. "Falcone is an all-time great player, and he might be the greatest Amazonestan to ever play the beautiful game. The way he played, with ferocity adn tenacity, for the entirety of his international career is stunning. Think about it- at age 34, he led the team in scoring in qualifying with 9 goals. He has 50 goals all-time. He stepped up in big moments, scoring in the Baptism of Fire 61 Final, to earn international silverware. He steps up in big moments, and one man shouldn't fill his shoes, nor try to fill his shoes. I am confident, however, that the talent is here where collectively, we will be able to keep up our scoring rate as a team."

Regardless of Falcone, life will go on with Falcone coming off the bench. Their first match, of course, is against Natanians & Nosts. Amazonsta is the bottom ranked team in their group, so they are playing three teams that are above them in the rankings, which means Amazonesta has a long-shot opportunity to qualify for the knockouts. Amazonesta will need to find a way to shut down Natan Nínnio Gonçalo, the star striker for Natanians & Nosts. Can Amazonesta outscore them? Can they generate offense without Omar Falcone starting the game? We won't really know until their game kicks off against Natanians & Nosts.

Of course, then Amazonesta has two byes in a row, before playing on matchdays 4 and 5. Those byes will give ample opportunity for Jehan Blair to scout his other group opponents in person, which hopefully Amazonesta can use to their advantage. They will be scrimmaging a Banijan club side in that time in Ethane, to make sure everything stays fresh in their bodies, as they will surely have two very challenging games at the end of group play that will decide if Amazonesta's stay in Ethane will be extended, or decide if they have to go home. Regardless, Amazonestan fans will be excited for Matchday 1, as a good start to this tournament, with a short group stage, is paramount if they want to reach the knockouts.

South Toronto looked like a future superpower in world football, having reached the final of the Baptism of Fire losing 5-2 to Filindostan in the final. However, since then they have failed to qualify for the World Cup 79 due to many of the 66th Baptism of Fire players either switching allegiance, being out of form, or being injured, meaning Manager Axel Salzer Lenzi had to pick from a limited pool of players that were quite frankly shit terrible. From that moment on, huge changes were made to the footballing system in South Toronto. It was made compulsory for students to do football for their CSSE's(Certificate of Secondary School Education-much like the GCSE's done in the UK but it's named CSSE).The government put 3 Units extra tax on every single junk food item, but removed tax for healthy food items that were considered by the DFFN in a hope of reducing obesity and getting more young people to get into football(Department For Food and Nutrition). Coaches were urged to play their younger players to develop the future of South Toronto's national team. Medical teams were trained on getting a player off the field as quickly as possible and properly assessing their injuries. All surgeons had to receive vigorous training in order to ensure a speedy recovery for players of all sports. Scouts were instructed on what kind of players their clubs needed and were trained to scout for the most talented players. Men and woman were allowed to play in a unisex team for the first time, though there are separate men's and woman's national teams. Players played out of South Toronto in other leagues, such as Jozy Dembele playing for Petroslovakia United who are based in Petroslovania. Even prisoners had a astro turf football pitch they could play on, because a person convicted of murder could be the next big thing, according to Head of the South Toronton FA Amaya Pierre Hoyjerg. Due to all these changes, many young players who may have otherwise been bench warmers at their clubs were playing week in and week out further developing their skills. Because of the revamp in the footballing system, South Toronto were invited to play at the Cup of Harmony which will be their third major tournament. Some of these young players were seen by scouts of the Iscantan Mereadas Zeradadas and are now eligible to be chosen to represent South Toronto at the Cup of Harmony....

Nickname: Iscantan Mereadas Zeradadas
Many foreign people outside South Toronto would be confused at the choice of our national team nickname, as outsiders often see it as three words of unknown meaning but this is well understood throughout all of South Toronto as it is in the language of the Exzapanusi tribe. The Exzapanusi people usually reside on the Island of Anthiarte, where they live their lives in peace. The Exzapanusi tribe language(Exzapa) is mandatory in all school curriculums, as a rule in South Toronto requires that all students must be fluent in 3 or more languages in an attempt to establish more trade with other countries. The English translation of 'Iscantan Mereadas Zeradadas' is 'The Eternal Blazing Phoenixes' but the Exzapa version sounds so much more mysterious and fearful than the English version so the national team adopted the Exzapa version.

OOC: Shout out to Filindostan for hooking me up with these beautiful kits, if you need any kits or logos you can request them from the MVP here.

Ranking: 162nd

Formation: 4-3-3 Attack

Style Modifier: 2

First Team:

GK: Asmeh Asamoah Ondoa: ( Age 17)A exciting prospect, he broke into the first team during the World Cup 79 Qualifiers when Antonio Cilimintaro was sadly killed. Already establishing himself as a first-team regular in Cragonos Mountains at the age of 15, Asmeh is more accomplished than many players older than him, winning the STFL 2 (South Toronton Football League 2) and the Titanorboa Cup (the equivalent of league cup ).He is known to be a sweeper keeper, being very composed on 1 v 1 situations. However, poor decision making has cost the Iscantan Mereadas Zeradadas many late conceded goals. However, Asmeh has a long playing career ahead of him and can improve greatly on his skills.

RB: Prince Abou Diaby (Age 23) Playing in the BoF and the World Cup 79 Qualifiers, Prince has secured his place in the national team as he is arguably the best right back in South Toronto. He is very fast and strong, an overpowered commination has saw him out speed the fastest of attackers and easily tacking the ball with no issue. He is a versatile defensive player, being able to play LB, CB, RB and even CDM. But despite seeming to be the perfect defender, Prince is only 5'8" which rules him out of aerial duties against taller players.

CB: Bryan Penelope (Age 18) Bryan came in the team when substitute Taha El-Hindi was forced to go into the first team due to the sad loss of Anders Killerich during the World Cup 79 Qualifiers. A number of good performances for club Mitis Town impressed Axel as he saw potential in the 18-year-old.Bryan is very physical and uses his absurd amount of strength to retrieve the ball. However, he is the most likely player in the team to either get booked or be sent off, though Bryan has been working on controlling his aggression and has many years ahead of him.

CB: Jamal Seruku (Age 18) A product of the revamp of the footballing system, Jamal was scouted by top team Aredia City and appeared for the club 97 times, the 12th most appearances than any other player in the history of Aredia City, as the record appearances(423) was broken by Yung Ki Son, father of current player Ni Ling Son. Seruku is always consistent tackling and passing, and is surprisingly the team's penalty taker showing Aredia City's youth academy is superior to most teams in South Toronto. However, Jamal is horrible at heading-something which most defenders are not-and as is the most likely to miss an open goal.

LB: Paul Makanjoko (Age 18) Proving young players can perform at a high level, Paul has time and time again proved critics wrong with mesmerising dribbling skills and exceptional crossing. At only eighteen years old, he has already 16 caps appearing at the BoF and the World Cup 79 Qualifiers and has unlimited potential. However, many critics claim he doesn't track back which allows the opposition to have a counter attack and is often pushed over by attackers who are stronger than him being only 5'4" and therefore is the smallest player on the team. It will be interesting to see how this young prospect deals with this amount of pressure on him by the media.

RCM: Ni Ling Son(Age 21) Son of legendary player Yung Ki Son, Ni Ling has been under a lot of pressure by the media to emulate and surpass his father's success. The current rate Ni Ling's skills are developing, he will surpass his fathers' success in 2-3 years. Ni Ling is the glue that holds the team together and is one of the most versatile players in South Toronto being able to play LB, CB, CM, CDM ,LM ,CAM LW, ST, showing how balanced his skills are from defending, to passing, to shooting and dribbling. He is more of a defensive midfielder and is almost the opposite of Owen Wright However, Ni Ling is the second smallest player in the team, being only 5'6" which means he can't play CB without a stronger, taller partner. But his curse is a blessing at the same time because he can dribble through an entire team as if they weren't there and is most likely to score a solo goal.

LCM: Owen Wright (Age 23) A counterpart of Ni Ling Son, Owen plays as a more offensive midfielder and is actually the best finisher in the entire team. The media criticises Axel for not changing his position to a ST, but Owen has passing that would be wasted at a ST position. Owen is technically gifted but has average stamina and limited pace which combined with being quite physically weak rules him out of being a ST and he is better suited at CM.

CAM: Michal Bergman(Captain) (Age 21) One of the best players currently on the team, Michal is almost the complete forward being able to dribble, pass, take set pieces and longshots. He shows amazing leadership skills and is most likely to score from a set piece. Michal, Owen and Ni Ling are the ultimate midfield partnership with the perfect contrast between defensive skills, shooting , dribbling and overall intelligence. However, an occurring theme of lack of strength and other physical aspects is displayed throughout the midfield, though they are still a formidable force.

RW: DeAndre Kiese-Thelin(Age 19) Kiese Thelin was converted to RW from LB because he wasn't keeping up with defensive capabilities. He also scored 5 goals in the BoF, more than any other South Toronton player during the BoF. Known for blistering pace, he uses his pace and dribbling skills to outwit defenders and slide it into the goal. DeAndre is the most likely to earn his team a set piece, but is often booked for diving, a trait previous player Helder Bastos shared.

ST: Jozy Dembele(Vice-Captain) (Age 19) Proving his worth, Jozy has performed consistently at a high level. A phenomenal dribbler, He is calm on the ball and doesn't rush into any decisions unless there is a good chance of scoring and is vice-captain for his determination and willingness to improve. He is not the fastest player, but has a huge frame at 6'4" disproving the myth that taller players are target men and aren't great dribblers. He is the most likely to score via a header or a volley, but Jozy is limited in the area of passing. Still, he has time to improve on that.

LW: Tyrese Townsend (Age 18) A new addition to the side, Tyrese was scouted by the national team while playing in a juvenile detention center. The scout, Mohamed Tawfiq, saw Tyrese's dribbling and pace as something needed in the Iscantan Mereadas Zeradadas and offered him a trial at the next training session as soon as he was released. He was signed up by club Frostveil City and put in a number of excellent performances, scoring 19 goals in the first half of the season to earn a call up. Tyrese is a very skillful player, and is a brilliant finisher with an almost trademark finesse shot into the bottom corner. However, he isn't consistent with shooting but is a overall good finisher.

Image

Substitutes:

CM: Germanpreet Sachadev (Age 18) Germanpreet chose to only show his first name and surname as it would've been easier for commentators to pronounce his name. Germanpreet is a perfect super sub and is the most likely to come off the bench and score a late equaliser. Germanpreet displayed a number of good performances during the World Cup 79 Qualifiers coming off the bench and scoring twice. A thundering left foot can catch the most experienced keepers by surprise and is arguably the best long shot taker in the team after Michal Bergman. However, he is not very skillful on the ball and can lose possession when under pressure.

CB: Javonte Willock (Age 18) A new addition to the side, Javonte is the classic centre-back. He shrugs the attacker off the ball with ease to showcase his absurd strength.. He is unbelievably tall at 6'8" and surprisingly is amazing at long passing. He is also the most likely to score a header during a counter attack, but he has problems with his aggression, much like Bryan Penelope.

LB: Jacky Han (Age 18) A very flexible LB, Jacky will put his body on the line to ensure his team does not concede a goal. His lightning speed reactions ensure he times his tackles to almost near perfection. He came up through the ranks at Port Decca Albion and is coincidentally Ni Ling Son's cousin, sowing football ability does run in the family. However, his vision is poor as he often mistakenly passes the ball to the opposition leading to a scoring opportunity

GK: Troi Esclaves (Age 19) He is exceptional at handling and positioning, catching the hardest shots with ease and intimidating players with his presence leading them to miss due to lack of concentration. Troi was previously clinically obese, but thanks to the government promoting a healthier lifestyle, he lost 45kg of weight leaving him to be 75kg.But, Troi suffers from anxiety which makes him more critical of himself and sometimes doubts his abilities.

CAM: Tom Pyrce Bellaiy (Age 19) Tom is a clinical finisher, being able to squeeze it past a sea of defenders into the goal and literally shooting for fun almost anywhere on the pitch. His playing style is very similar to Michal Bergman but he is not the best set piece taker so to speak. His ball control is his major weakness, often leading him to unintentionally give away possession.

RW: Harris Imani (Age 18) Like Tyrese Townsend, Harris was scouted by the national team for his pace and close range shooting while playing in a juvenile detention center. He was signed by Second Division Side Faviers United where he played a crucial role in their promotion to the first division. His shot power is dangerously overpowered, launching like a missile towards the goal, and when he has scored, holes can often be found in the nets of away teams. However, many claim Harris is a 'ball hog' as he is often selfish and is least likely to get an assist.

ST: Trevon Eliezer (Age 19) Trevon was seen playing at a charity game and was subsequently snapped up by mid table club Brimber Volcanoes. Known for his skilfulness and ability to get out of tricky situations, Trevon proved he could become world class if he put enough dedication into it. His right footedness is seen as rare in South Toronto, as 65% of players playing in the first division were left footed, meaning he can bang a shot from the halfway line and somehow they would go in. Trevon has anger issues from a rough childhood and is often booked for retaliation on defenders when they foul him.

Reserves:

LW: Artjorm Petrov (Age 18) Artjorm came up when he was scouted by the national team when he was playing for Under-20s club Crituras Azures. Axel himself came to the game to assemble a squad ahead of the CoH. Axel was impressed and asked Artjorm to come train with the national team. Being able to play RW and ST as well as LW shows he is a versatile attacking player and is efficient and effective when playing. Artjorm is what some people may say a 'show boat' and tricks defenders, making them look foolish and sending them to the hospital for broken ankles . Artjorm is a very comedic player and often dramatizes situations resulting in a straight red for him.

CM: Kevin Yahaya (Age 19) Not much information can be said about Kevin, apart from being balanced at everything and lacking any compassion for any living soul, not caring if he just ended a career. Many people speculate he does voodoo, juju, or some type of black magic as he can persuade referees to give away penalties even when a player has blatantly dived. He also carries black dust in his pocket but we think it's a good luck charm. Also, that this man should be arrested immediately for murder, he obviously killed a referee who didn't give a penalty. he is a perfectly disciplined player with no intention of wrongdoing!

RB: Ashley Awako(Age 19) He is more suited at CAM, but plays RB simply because he can defend more consistently at RB while using his dribbling. He was a last resort as Dominic Rose was out injured, Taha El-Hindi was unavailable due to religious reasons, and was the next best RB. He is an amazing athlete and uses that to his advantage when defending. That being said, he isn't a good crosser or long passer, which is partially the reason why he is a RB.

CB: Devante Marie Tiberius (Age 17) He is the son of the current leader of South Toronto Tiberius Prombase. Devante is the best long passer on the team, being able to lob the ball from one end pf the pitch to the other. He is very fast for a CB, and has 10 security guards watching him play every match. Any crimes by South Toronton fans seen by his security guards will almost certainly lead to an arrest and any player who commits a foul on Devante will pay a fine of 500 Units, or 500 of whatever currency the player earns. His nickname by many South Toronton fans is Marie The Strapped Lamb.

GK: Harvey Collin (Age 20) He looks a lot more like the guy you get in a fight with in the bar than a professional footballer. He was scouted whilst playing drunk in a Sunday league match and it is now tradition for him to always takes a shot of wine before playing a match. Due to this, he is always at 85% fitness before matches but nevertheless is a solid keeper best at diving but worst at positioning.

Do whatever you want, just don't kill any of my players, because the rest of them are not good enough for our national team.

2nd place finish in BoF 66. There's more to come! Hopefully..
Your young don from Southwest London and I bang out 410, AM Skengdo, 1011 and a host of UK drill artists. You probably thought I was Canadian 'cause of my nation's name and flag, but I am actually Ugandan and I live in London.
Hosted the inaugural STIC, and a domestic newswire up and running. They will be a few more soon...
And remember guys, Toronton is Singular, South Toronton is an Adjective, and Torontons is Plural! Also, the USST is an abbreviation of Unified Socialist States of South Toronto, and apart from marijuana and abortion being legal, and our environmental policies, in no way does this nation reflect my RL views.

Some say this is the last chance for this core of Gazilian footballers. Amare Contee has matured and is at his mental peak, but his body is starting to show signs of a long career. Wingman Uffe Diya and defensive middie Imari Lefisse are also starting to age. They were meant to bring New Gazi into the World Cup. Qualification fell just out of their reach by as few as 1-2 games, depending on how the records were analyzed.

Vannish and Gazilian analysts can only wonder, what could have been.

Newcomers like Alanso Niang failed to make any major impact in the latest edition of the World Cup. New Gazi went 11-5-2. That was in a tough group which included Farfadillis and Tumbra, two highly competitive teams. Another gladiator the Gazilians squared off with was the team from Mattijana. Those two teams competed for their shot at a second place finish.

New Gazi scored 52 and gave away 33 goals during WC79. Now the team looks forward to the Cup of Harmony 71.

"I've always enjoyed this event", Amare Contee told a sideline reporter. "It's an honor to constantly be invited to the event. I'm sure many athletes would rather qualify. But this is a great event from the league. It's a competition in it's own right. We'll play just as hard as we would have for the other tourney."

Joining New Gazi for the first time, Vangaziland will be competing in their first Cup of Harmony.

"I'd love to see a Vann-Gazi Derby", said Imari Lefisse between semi-televised pregame workout sessions. Lefisse moved to New Gazi with his dual citizenship and could now potentially find himself playing against his homeland."

"It would be fun", Lefisse continued. "I don't think anybody should take it too personally. I'd like to hope creating a buzz about Vannish footballers internationally, during a time when no national team was in the works was a good thing. We paved the way for today."

New Gazi looks to make a serious run for Cup of Harmony 71.

Tonight's Episode:
"Road to the Cup of Harmony: The Talking Points"

Good Evening, Filindostan. My name is Tito Bhoy, and tonight, we will dissect the Filindostan's national football team's road to the Cup of Harmony competition. It looked like the Pula Garuda was heading to the World Cup after the first five games, but their inexperience in the competition allowed them to be overrun by more experienced sides, and a final day win is not enough for them to qualify. However, the FIREQATS Committee decided to invite the team for the tournament designed for promising teams who failed to make the cut. But upon seeing the list of teams in the tournament, it looked like some were just invited to fill the teams in the tournament. What's more bizarre, like me, is that there are three groups that only have four teams, and we are on one of those groups. Less competing teams, less margin for error, perhaps. Now let's go through my talking points for the team in their road into this tournament.

1. Pula Garuda's Baptism of Fire victory and subsequent World Cup Campaign

Yes, yes. Almost everyone in Filindostan should already know by now that we won the Baptism of Fire tournament. Albeit one of the most boring anticlimactic tournaments in multiversal history, the Pula Garuda managed to beat thirty-one other teams, oh, bar The Steel Coast who managed to beat the team on the first day. It was hard getting the negatives in the performance of the team other than those happened in that match, oh wait. I forgot about the match with Northwest Kalactin, maybe we can go to that later should we have time left. The team we beat in the finals, South Toronto, had been rumored to switch their kits from their usual ones to those made by the Filindo brand, No Nonsense, as an adage to an antiquity quote: "If you can't beat them, wear the brand of them.", or so I hope.

Getting a good haul of KPB points coming to the World Cup qualifying, the Pula Garuda were one of few teams from that tournament who were in the seventh pot. The other team would be Petroslovania, who won the same amount of matches with the Filindos, with their only drubbing, oh wait, defeat, coming from the tournament winners. Grouped with perennial juggernauts Vilita and Starblaydia, along with promising teams Savojarna, Red Blackiland, and Islana Lunigo, the qualifying campaign looks to be a lost cause for the Filindostanis. They were sorely mistaken.

Filindostan's schedule were very much advantageous to them, to the point that some trolls here accused the federation of bribing the hosts to give them the kind of schedule they had. Three of the Pula Garuda's final four matches are against the top three seeds, and carrying momentum from the first set of matches can give them a bit of hope to get at least a point. They almost did that, dealing with other teams before losing to Vilita and Starblaydia, and getting away from Red Blackiland with a point. By the end of the first half of qualifying matches, the Pula Garuda were in third, and looking to give either Starblaydia or Red Blackiland a run for their money.

Despite sweeping the lowest two seeds in the next two matches, they stumbled to an old opponent - Islana Lunigo. Having played them before at the Campionato Esportiva, and another at the first half of qualifiers, the match at the Grand Westportiva Park ended in a bore draw, after which, they led twice in Jakulta before eventually succumbing to a 3-4 defeat at the hands of Savojarna, which almost derailed their campaign. The Pula Garuda would take second spot once again in the next two matches, a 4-2 win over The Steel Coast, followed up with a 5-1 stonking of Starblaydia, by far their most impressive victory in their brief history so far. Things would turn its head again the next matchday, as the failure of the team to get a result in Krychek Stadium means that the streaking Red Blackiland took their place in the second automatic spot.

Filindostan did their best to wrestle back the second spot that would take them the Ceni and Drawkland. Despite King's efforts, the Pula Garuda lost in Turoki to Vilita 2-1. and while that could have ended their qualification hopes, Starblaydia managed to beat the second place holder, 1-0, to setup a crazy last matchday where the three of them will have a shot of qualification. Bienvenido scored the winning goal in the 68th minute against Red Blackiland, overtaking them in the standings, however the team were already aware by the reactions of the fans that it would be for naught - at Jhanna, Starblaydia cruised to a 3-0 win over Jabok, ending the Filindostanis' World Cup hopes.

Despite the last day disappointment, the Pula Garuda finished their campaign an impressive third, and as such, booked their tickets to Qasden and Ethane for the Cup of Harmony, where they will be put on a group including Mercedini, Juvencus, and Northwest Kalactin.

2. Proficiency against lower ranked teams

This has been a statistic every Filindostani love to hear. While they are taking their chances to beat higher or equally ranked teams, they have impressively racked victory after victory against lower ranked teams. In the qualifying campaign alone, they swept all their matches against lower ranked opposition. (6-0-0 against The Steel Coast, Jabok, and Undarat), which helped them finish a higher position than which the experts predicted at the start of their campaign.

The same can be said in their friendlies. Winning against Dunnes and Azadeshia in their pre- and post- qualifiers friendly respectively. They hope to continue this trend against the Kalactinians, who will be the lowest seed in Group E in the Cup of Harmony group stage.

3. Inability to beat higher ranked teams in friendlies

Despite their winning record against lower-ranked opposition, the same cannot be said for the other side of the rankings spectrum. In friendlies alone, they sport a dismal 1-0-5 record against higher or equally ranked opposition. Their only win came from another member of their CoH group, Juvencus, while absorbing losses against Mattijana, HUElavia, Equestrian States, Abahnfleft, and recently, World Cup co-hosts Ceni.

The last two losses in their post-qualifying friendlies only show that those kind of results may appear if they qualified to the World Cup, providing a doormat to those top teams. In the World Cup qualifying though, they are 5-2-5 against higher ranked opposition, the most impressive victories being the 5-1 win mentioned earlier, and a 1-0 win over Red Blackiland on the final matchday. But unlike the qualifiers, the Cup of Harmony only have three or four matches depending on what group you are in, and we just hope that what some gamer said holds true: "KPB is just a number."

4. Manyakol... er... Yakob's rise to prominence

At the start of the Baptism of Fire tournament, Onyok, touted to be Fortunas' next star, held the reins at the attacking midfield position. However, pundits and fans alike started to notice that his ceiling would just be a club team player and not a cornerstone for the national team. As the games came past by, Coach Willy slowly turned to his bench looking for an alternative. And this is where he noticed Yakob's potential. Having the nickname 'Manyakol', as if no one would want to have an interaction with that man, he started being a lynchpin in the absence of King due to suspension, and when placed in the attacking midfield position, he started to bring his aggressive side of football in the pitch, culminating to a hattrick against Jabok.

This caused Willy to drop Onyok from his starting lineup, signalling him to start performing or lose his spot in the roster. With Onyok delivering shit performances at Fortunas (more on that on my league review), it was not long until Willy dropped him altogether from the squad, in place of Yakob, who, not only inherited the position by hardwork, but also his number 10 jersey, and most likely, his spot in the Fortunas roster for next season, as the Salumbides brothers are already lodging a bid to prise him away from Perouno. From a random groper in San Rafael to the Filindostani star in the making. What a guy.

5. Will King start against the Kalactinians?

This bring us to the preview of Filindostan vs Northwest Kalactin. Will Coach Willy field the lineup he mostly used in the latter half of World Cup qualifying? Or will he field almost the same lineup against the Kalactinians at the quarterfinals of the Baptism of Fire?

The two teams met in the quarterfinals of that tournament in the Sam Garcia Field, where Filindostan won 2-0, despite having only nine players at the end of the match. The match will be remembered forever by King's outburst when he punched defender Hue Grebv in the face, with the FFF imposing a fifteen-match suspension to him. He was able to return to play for the team against The Steel Coast and has been integrated to the philosophy of the team ever since. The question is that, will the coach let King and Hue interact during the pre-match ceremonies? Or will he gamble to a dank strategy by bringing him on after half-time?

For the rest of the team, I'm excited on who will the coach field in their first match against Northwest Kalactin at Merellin Park in Taxson, Qasden.

We have reached our time limit, and remember, God Bless you, make your mama proud, and Good Evening.

Anthoran National Football Team
Anthoran "Warriors"
Statistical Information: 18-4-33
Manager: Adrien Darby
Despite failing for the fourth year to achieve a successful qualification into the World Cup, Darby remains positive with media and reporters with the team's future, and in particular, it's success to be found in the coming months and years. For the third time, the Warriors have been invited to partake in the Cup of Harmony and Darby stated he is eager to produce 'exciting' results in the campaign this time around, especially with what he considers an easier group then in years past. Jason Rigsby will be a key focal point for this campaign, having begun the first part of WC79 qualifiers with abysmal numbers leading to him being benched before he was able to resurface into normality, however he will need to translate that late success over into the CoH if he wishes to help lead his club into advancement beyond the group stage.

Asst. Manager: Joshua Forest
Asst.Manager: Mary McPhee
Head Physio: Aubin Christinson

Joshua Forest has seen his contract renewed for a further two year, and he's also joined by Mary McPhee who was brought on after serving as a coaching staff member for Leton Town down in 3rd Tier and is looking to broaden her career; it's said she's developed a reputation for being quite the tough trainer so perhaps Darby and Commissioners brought her on board to help sharpen up the squad.

FOOTBALL - CUP OF HARMONY SPECIAL
FFF issues warning to King following his apparent refusal to shake hands with Hue Grebv in opening match

TAXSON, QASDEN - As the Pula Garuda of Filindostan faced Northwest Kalactin in their Baptism of Fire quarterfinal rematch, all eyes were on Filindostani midfielder King and Kalactinian defender Hue Grebv on how they'll interact with each other following the incident at the Sam Garcia Field in Barunia that costed King fifteen Filindostani competitive matches and forced him to go overseas to the Llamanean league this season. Even before the first whistle started, tensions were already floating at the Merelin Park here in Taxson.

As the national anthems of the two nations played, the Kalactinian team started to approach the Filindo team for the pre-match handshake. After King shook the hand of Jack Flemister, his head and hands turned to the second next person after Flemister, Gibson Fernandez, apparently skipping Hue Grebv who was following the left midfielder. This drew the ire of the defender and immediately snatched the hand of King and squeezing it tight. King, who appeared to be nonchalant following the gesture, was seen in the cameras mumbling 'Chillax, bro', and getting his hands away from those of Grebv.

This incident caught the eye of the Filindostan Football Federation, and while King has already received a suspension from them before, he would escape harsher punishment as the federation only issued a stern warning to the midfielder. Estie Barizaga, the chair of the FFF, added that further incidents of the same nature will incur a fine and a possible sending home for any Filindostani doing the same gesture as King did in the pre-match ceremonies.

The match itself were points lost for the Pula Garuda, as the 119th ranked team managed to share the spoils with the current Baptism of Fire champions after Jared Sednah and Yish scored for both teams. The Filindostanis could have won the game for them as they were awarded a penalty in the 74th minute after Grebv was sent off for impeding substitute Bochog while being the last person in line to defend. King missed the penalty, putting the ball over the bar, and was subsequently replaced by Siharto. Filindostan had been also down to ten players earlier on after Gerry unfortunately was caught handling the ball outside of the penalty box when he appeared to block a streaking Luke Dillan's lob into the back of the net.

The Pula Garuda will have their work cut out now and need to get a win against both Mercedini and Juvencus if they want to keep their debut Cup of Harmony campaign alive.

Cup of Harmony groups decided

The Cup of Harmony groups were decided last week and as you all know, Juvencus, being a pot 2 team was grouped up with Mercedini, Filindostan as well as Northwest Kalactin in group E, which is in Qasden. Today, we're diving deep inside giving you our predictions on the Juven campaign in the Cup of Harmony, giving you a bit of an insight to the rest of the teams' campaigns.

Let's start off with our gentlemen, Juvencus. We predict either a 2nd or 3rd spot finish in the group stages, it all depends on the games against Filindostan as well as Northwest Kalactin, on which teams Juvencus can stand up against and maybe catch 4 or 6 points. The match with Mercedini is most likely a lost cause of the team's strength and experience, despite Juvencus having 2 players who have studied their style of play, playing there themselves, Alberighi and Grec. It's most likely though that Juvencus is finishing 3rd, crashing out of the group stages just like 2 editions ago.

Next up, group favourites, Mercedini. They lost their opportunity to qualify for the world cup in the last match against Abanhfleft, a team which they tied against. Thus the team's maybe going to unleash their wrath to the Cup of Harmony, possibly a very good campaign reaching the Quarter finals or a top 4 spot finish. We predict a 1st place finish for them.

Now off to Filindostan, another team that came so close to qualifying, in their first try, yet so far. Finishing 3rd too in the qualification stages. The Baptism of Fire champions are a force to be reckoned with and the match against them is possibly the match we should look out the most for. They're much more likely to qualify in the next stage though, 2nd place finish, with a campaign finish in the round of 16.

Lastly, Northwest Kalactin. They did an alright campaign for their first time, however it is quite hard for them to do something really grand in the big stages, such as the Cup of Harmony. They could pull off a couple of upsets though. But we predict them to finish 4th, just below us.

And that has been in it with the group stage final standings predictions. However we have our prediction for the match against Mercedini, which we have faced before in a friendly, losing 2-3. This time we're technically the away team, a scoreline of 4-2 defeat for us is pretty accurate for us. Most likely players to score from our squad are Silvestri and Grec.

CoH Group G Preview

by Clement Ashley

So Apox are once again in the Cup of Harmony - and we've already managed to get ourselves into position as the top seeds in an interesting group, containing a strong Esportivan contingent of Coldfield, Mattijana, non-Esportivan Platerdam and Vangaziland. With the first match as a bye for the national team, we will preview our opponents, starting off with second seed Coldfield and working our way down through the pots with each game. Hopefully, soon enough we will be through to the knock-out stages and getting involved with some tasty games indeed - we will just have to hope that, providing we make it that far, we avoid fellow Esportivans Buyan who have managed to knock us out of the last two tournaments (CoH 70 and CE XX) at the quarter final stage. The message from Luxulya St. Cleer is clear (pardon the pun) - Apox want to win this tournament.

Opponent 1 - Coldfield
Ranked: 68th
Previous Meetings: 1
CoH 70 - Apox 1-0 Coldfield - Apoxian scorers Titan Vladimirescu
Star Player: Nataniel Balogh
Their highest scoring player in history, Nataniel Balogh is just in the peak of his career now and will be a tough challenge for the veteran Apoxian defensive pairing to deal with. The key to victory will be stopping him from scoring using that typical Apoxian defensive grit.
Captain: Robert Simmons
Their grizzled captain, aged 33, is a midfield enforcer, much like our own captain James Palmisano and he will be a dangerous opponent to deal with indeed. While there may be some slight concerns about his stamina, being the oldest member of the starting XI by some distance, he should definitely not be underestimated.

Opponent 2 - Mattijana
Ranked: 84th
Previous Meetings: 2
WCQ78 - Apox 1-0 Mattijana
WCQ78 - Mattijana 1-0 Apox
Star Player: Katarina Jakupovic
Another midfield enforcer, Jakupovic is a rare talent and another one the Apoxian defense will have to look out for. With all round versatility, she is able to set up goals, dominate play and score long range scorchers, making her a threat anywhere on the pitch. One for the present and future as well, as she's only tipped to get better.
Captain: Katija Burnisevič
Burnisevič is newly promoted to the captaincy of Mattijana and is a defensive mainstay of the team. Unlike many defenders, she is confident on the ball and happy to help set up offensive moves when required. This is not to say her defensive games isn't top standard either, as she is a crunch tackler and fast enough to keep up with the pace of some of the offensive players thrown at her. While her aerial ability might not be her standout skills, if the team are working together well, this threat can be avoided.

Opponent 3 - Platerdam
Ranked: 118th
Previous Meetings: 0
Star Player: Paul Scorazzi
Paul Scorazzi has it all - as comfortable on the ball as he is distributing play around the field. A pivot for the team to work around and full of spicy pace on the wings, he is also a real goalscoring threat, and isn't afraid to shoot from distance. A great technical player, entrusted with free-kicks for the team, he is one to watch.
Captain: Javier Bentley
A man mountain, Bentley anchors down the defense, marshaling the line from the right to ensure defensive stability is maintained. One of Platerdam's most experienced players, now aged thirty, he is not afraid to get physical and impose himself on the game - and indeed on the opposition forwards. A classic centre-back.

Opponent 4 - Vangaziland
Ranked: 126th
Previous Meetings: 0
Star Player: Nate Bennerssen
Bennerssen is of average shape and height, but in no other way is he average on the pitch. A mercurial talent, able to spot an opening anywhere and anytime on the field of play, he has the natural talent and flair to get away with some of the outrageous tricks and skills he likes to pull off - most of the time anyway. He doesn't really need to resort to Route One football and is often the dominating force on the left wing.
Captain: Ed Hjoerleif
On the other wing, Vangaziland's captain, the wonderfully named Hjoerleif, has a dis-proportionate amount of the play running through him, and he is probably an equally important player on the face of it. more of a diminuitive slinker, he is able to wiggle himself out of all sorts of situations on the football pitch. Known more for assists than scoring, his ball placement to the forwards in the box is sometimes upsettingly on point. The Apoxian defenders will (once again), need to be focused.
