National Information

The Kingdom of Banija is a country that classifies itself as a semi-constitutional monarchy. A nation that is freshly a member of Atlantian Oceania, it is led by the Kabaka(which translates to King), and the current monarch is Kabaka Albert III. The Kabaka, alongside with the Waziri(translates to Foreign Minister), whom he picks and dismisses solely at his pleasure, is the Head of State and responsible for the country's foreign affairs.

The Lukiiko(translates to Parliament) is a democratically-elected, constituency-based, first past the post, legislature that has the power of the purse and controls all legislative affairs for the country. The Lukiiko, every term, elects the Katikkiro(Prime Minister), who picks a cabinet and leads the government. Racially, the nation is 93.2% black. This is a very religious based Christian nation, as 87% of Banijans are affiliated with the state church, the Puritan Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, whose followers are called Puritan Mormons. Shia Islam is the next largest religious community at 9% of the national population. The Guardian Council, a council of 6 members, with 3 picked by the Kabaka from the House of Katende(the royal house), and 3 picked by the Church, has the ability to oppose laws based on religious grounds. It takes a 5-1 majority on the Guardian Council to reject any bill passed by the Lukiiko.

Due to the massive influence of Puritan Mormonism in this nation, they are relatively socially conservative. Abortion in this country is outlawed unless the mother's life is in danger, and the church's Universal Call to Motherhood, which teaches that the destiny of each and every woman is to give birth to children and raise faithful Puritan Mormons, has heavily shaped the nation's view on the role of women in society. Therefore, it is against the law for any professional sports teams based in Banija to have men and women on the team. However, this law only applies to teams based in Banija, which is why it is perfectly legal when foreign-based teams, either for away games or when Banija hosts tournaments, to have people of any gender. Meaning that the ban on co-ed sports does not apply at this tournament, except for the Banijan team itself. Consumption of alcohol and the recreation use of marijuana in Banija is legal.

Of course, Banija is a 3rd world country by modern economic standards. A general lack of development in Banija, we are a country with excellent sporting infrastructure, but little else. Most roads are dirt, and while public transit within cities is excellent(thanks to the RTC!), between cities it is not. The climate of Banija has a lot of natural rainforest and jungle, which means that there is no winter, only wet season and dry season. Temperatures generally range at their coldest around 60 degrees farenheit, and at their hottest around 110 degrees farenheit. For the duration of the tournament, average high temperatures will range from 60 to 85 degrees farenheit.

Stadia

Kawesa Stadium
Image
Capacity of 41,000, located in Mynda, Aksum

This is the home of Mynda Soccer Club in the Banijan Soccer League. This is also another city where gridiron, rather than soccer, reigns supreme. Mynda is the only cit in Banija that is a dry city, where hars do not openly serve alcohol. However, it is quite common for people to bring their own alcohol, and it is perfectly legal to bring your own alcohol in approved, clear cannisters to games at the stadium and to drink them in designated tailgating areas.

One Quarterfinal

The Wolf's Den
Image
Capacity of 44,000, located in Busembe, Kitara

The Wolf's Den is the home of the Busembe Timberwolves. It is one of the newer stadiums in Banija. Busembe is the Eastern most city in Banija to host a game, and it is located in a very mountainous region of Banija. It is easily the highest altitude stadium in Banija, which means that it is far more likely to wear opponents down over the course of a game.

1 Round of 16 match.
One Quarterfinal

Bwubanza City Park
Image
Capacity of 40,000, located in Bwubanza City, in the Bunyoro Region

This is the stadium of relative BSL newcomers Bwubanza City. One of Banija's larger stadiums, seating 40,000, it is also the smallest stadium being used in the tournament. It is the one city that teams want to avoid, as heavy rains seem to hit the area, alongside plenty of humidity. It is hard to keep your energy up here, but as Banija wanted to 'spread the wealth' geographically, this stadium was chosen to host group stage matches.

1 Round of 16 match.
One Quarterfinal

Hangaza Unified Stadium
Image
Capacity of 55,000, located in the City of Aissa, in the Hangaza Region.

It is located in the City of Aissa, which has a population of 477,000. People from all over the Hangaza region will come to this stadium however, and the City itself is a major tourist attraction for foreigners.

One Quarterfinal

Liberty Stadium
Image
Capacity of 70,000, located in Istria, Moravica.

This is the largest city in the entire Kingdom of Banija, with 3 million residents. Moravica has long been a distinct region of Banija, and while football is definitely & certainly king in this region, soccer is still watched by quite a few people. Banija's largest airport is in this city, so it could not be denied. This stadium is Banija's largest domed stadium, and has hosted the NSCF 12 Final as well as the NSCF 14 Final.

Matches
1 Round of 16 match.
One Semifinal

Star Field
Image
Capacity of 62,000, located in Herzegovina City, Moravica

One of the larger stadiums in use during league play, this is the home of the back to back Banijan Soccer League Champions Herzegovina City FC. Herzegovina City is the oldest city in the country, and one of 4 cities with a population of over one million people. It is the historical capitol of the Kasanke tribe, Banija's majority and dominant ethnic group.

One Semifinal

PG Arena

Capacity of 44,500, located in the City of Hoima, in the Ankole Region.

This was the location of all of Banija's home World Cup qualifiers, and is easily the largest outdoor stadium in the country.

Local 22 year old Diet Coke Addict College Student Ruins Everything

Quote of the Week: "A NEW STORY ON WRITING THREAD FOR HALLOWEEN!! MYSTERY MINE AVAILABLE NOW!"

RPs I do
- How do you do fellow kids? You want to see something violent? - Artemis: Deimos Trafficking League (Horror/Mature)
- Descend into the forgotten tourist traps of Florida on this transgressive RP! - The Community (Mature/Black Comedy/Slice-of-Life)

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.

Kalactin finds out opponents

Northwest Kalactin has found out their opponents and is properly prepared for their current opponents QB jack Nelson said “we’ll have that we play hard enough against pridnestrovia and Greater Vakolicci Haven And win and then have some luck against our unranked opponents so we can beat them and hopefully win against them” the game plan is simple we have a 4-3 formation on defense and hope our singleback formation works against other teams Northwest Kalactin has assembled the strongest team with the best players in NKGL the only place were we have holes is the pass offense where we have rookie jack Nelson starting but David Morrison provides good depth.

Northwest Kalactanian pro teams have been known to cheat every once and a while but nothing was as bad as this this is the story of the trip-gate during the 2009 Kalactin the Armidale knights where losing to the Lismore bulls 34-29 the game was close for the whole time and knights QB Reilly Neal had thrown 4 touchdown passes and Lismore had scored it was up to Neal to win the game for Armidale here is the commentary from the end of the game “Neal lines up with 12 seconds left he snaps it connects for 13 yards with 3 seconds left as Jack Milas runs out of bounds Neal snaps it passes it to Jack Moon Moon runs it down field 50,40,30,20,10, ohh! Moon fell down as time expires in the 4th quarter” this play wasn’t in disput until, a knights reporter showed that moon was tripped by Bulls LB coach Dan griffin 15 days later griffin was banned from football by the Northwest Kalactin football association and the bulls championship was vacated and the championship was given to the knights.

South Covello World Bowl Roster

Following the overthrow of the Gregist regime, South Covello will compete under that name in World Bowl XXXIV. And, for the first time since the Revolution, an international sporting event will be played in South Covello, at Liberty Stadium in Freedom City. The stadium was constructed following the Revolution and seats 40,000 fans.

Image

Far from the defensive, grind it out style of the former team, the South Covellans have an exciting offense known for trick plays, rapid paced offense, and high-powered plays. The defense plays aggressively, blitzing a lot, so the key is to beat the blitz.

Derek McNair, Quarterback

Derek McNair was only one month removed from playing his last game of the RFL season in the Karmin-Falce Superdone, leading his team to a dominant offensive performance in Ranoria's championship game, the Iron Bowl, earning the game's MVP honors to the tune of 45 points on offense and only one turnover all game long. But that didn't necessarily help when you had a group of players around who you'd only played with once, ever, for the most part, in the care-free RFL 'Elite Bowl,' which was essentially a bunch of the best players in the League taking the opportunity to play a low-intensity game of football in pads. Besides tight end Carlos Wyceck, there wasn't a guy here he'd thrown to as a pro. He had played with Joey Giordano back at Richardson University, as well as receivers Anthony and Larry Foster, all of whom were big targets and exceptional blockers, but there were still plenty of new faces.

As much as he'd worked to develop some chemistry with his receivers, they were still constructing the offense. After all, with all of these players, you couldn't really just expect them to absorb a completely new playbook in the space of a few weeks.

And the worst part of it was, there coach was a very traditional coach when it came to Ranorian professional football: Passing the ball was only to be done when absolutely necessary. McNair had led his Steamers to a championship by putting the whole team on his shoulders and using sheer athletic talent, and flashes of passing prowess, to get it done. College football in Ranoria had only begun to transition towards the quarterback taking control of the game about nine years ago, and the professional game had yet to catch up, although quarterbacks like Paul Verona and McNair, who were on this roster, as well as Bo Callahan, the best passer, undisputed, in the nation, were changing that day by day. Runners like Henry Johnson had their era, and now, it was coming to an end. The days of the massive, unbreakable brute of a running back were at their breaking point, as were those of pure finesse backs in Tommy Barker.

Now, the era of the quarterback was coming.

If only their head coach could just catch up with the times...

That was what found Derek McNair in the office of their offensive coordinator, Melkor Kiper, in an attempt to vary up the offense a good bit.

"Coach, I understand that this is a conservative offence, but why not let me take a few shots every once in awhile, at least?"

"Derek," Kiper sighed, "Look, you're the starter because August Hassel, who, until the last couple of years, has been very successful, says you're the best Q on the team. I tend to agree. On the other hand, he sees you as a scrambler, and that, in his mind, means that you shouldn't be throwing the football down the field. I've seen your tape, and you can be a baller when you're on point, but we saw the way you finished the regular season, too, a 4-10 TD to INT ratio. Derek, I just don't think that he's going to budge on this, and frankly, I don't see the issue, we'll be running with a stable of four elite runners and you'll be a supplementary guy." Kiper, their offensive coordinator, sighed, seeing the look in his quarterback's face.

"No." Derek snorted, "Look, we're facing international competition here. And frankly, their professional teams are further along in the development of football than our own are. We need to pass the ball to win against these guys, and I think you should give me that chance. If nothing else, give me a few plays I can call at the line of scrimmage. I did it a little bit this year, and I'm sure that I can develop that more here."

There was a pause, and Kiper nodded, slowly, "Okay. I'll talk to him about it. But you're going to have to show the both of us that we can trust you to call the right plays at the line of scrimmage, because if you don't it can mean disaster."

At this, McNair, ever confident in himself, beamed, jumping out of his seat, "Thank you coach!"

And with that, the young man was out of the room.

"Good lord," Kiper muttered, "We're either going to embarrass the nation or give it something to root for, I suppose."
Fan of football, the Murican kind. But soccer is cool too! Just not really my thing. C(:^D/-<

World Bowl XXXII continues the evolution of Barunian gridiron. With a new lot of funding, this team is the largest the Sea Cows have ever had. For the first time, players are not being required to double up in offence and defence. The team has benefitted from a new batch of players coming through the ranks of Karl Marx University, the home of Barunian gridiron. With a big team, and some even bigger announcements on the way, Barunia are looking forward to a massive World Bowl.
No longer a team of amateurs, the Sea Cows are now a respected outfit with professional players. Admittedly, all those players currently play for one team, the Karl Marx - Barunia Reds in the Pridnestrovian League, but it has meant the non-university players get real game experience outside of the World Bowl. Furthermore, the Barunian Gridiron Association has been awarded federal funding, allowing them to send a larger team to World Bowl XXXIV. This year sees 62 players looking to make the trip to Banija, beating the previous record of 61 players set in World Bowl XXXII.

Team Name and Kits
The team name is the Barunia Sea Cows, and take their name from the Barunian Sea Cow, or White Dugong, a rare sirenian which is known to live only in the deep sea and coastal water around Barunia. Team kits utilise the three colours of the Barunian flag, with the helmets in yellow, a colour often associated with Barunian sports. The distinctive white stripe flanked by two thin red lines on the flag is a dominant feature in the kit; it features on the socks, the side of the pants, the shoulders of the shirts, and down the centre of the helmet.

Play Style
The Sea Cows have a built a reputation as a difficult team to score against, with their games often low scoring affairs. A well-skilled defensive unit with some hard hitters has formed the bedrock of their success. Offensively, the Sea Cows will always favour the running game, with the team happy to drive the length of a field solely on rushes. Tight ends and H-Backs are widely used, and are often the favoured receivers of long passes. The Barunians have turned their inexperience with the game into unpredictability, and they are fully prepared to take risks (such as playing on fourth down) and crazy plays in an effort to keep the opposition guessing. Expect more trick and unusual plays, such as laterals, which the players excel at as they mostly come from rugby backgrounds. The special teams unit is very good, and field goals are a common occurrence - to the point where kicker Bill Holman led the team in points scored at WBXXVIII.

Offense: Torren Tormundsunn (FB)

Home Field: National Stadium, Roan-Ottonia Federal District (Capacity: 96,000) - The national municipal stadium, which plays host to all of the Federation's national teams across multiple sports, as well as Ottonia's AGL team. The stadium was first built in the 1950's, and has been refurbished, upgraded, expanded, and renovated twice since then. Still, it is, at bottom, an old-school stadium where the home team's accommodations are much nicer than the visiting ones, and fans will be comfortable, but probably not pampered. The stadium has a retractable roof, but the Regulars will usually play with it open, to take advantage of their comfort in the Allamunnic States' often-inclement weather.

General Information

Overview:

The Regulars are a bit odd for a national team organization. Where other nations field all-star teams from their national or amateur leagues, or send a proper professional team, the Regulars field a professional national team organization, composed of players recruited specifically for the national team who practice and play together year-round. Players are drawn from Allamunnic Gridiron League free agents and the odd draft prospect swayed away from the league. The players that tend to flock to the team tend to be cast-offs, second-chancers, and washouts who have talent but have otherwise reduced professional league prospects, at least traditionally. At this point, the team has acquired a good enough reputation that players at certain positions, who might otherwise face reduced draft prospects in the domestic league, will go to the national team despite being plenty talented. This tends to happen most along the lines on both sides of the ball; there are a lot of Allamunnic linemen, offensive and defensive, that have made a name for themselves on the national team. There is also a great deal of institutional loyalty: a lot of players, once recruited, will spend a large chunk of their careers on the team.

The Regulars tend to lack exceptionally-fast players; though not a slow team by any means, they lack exceptional team speed (mostly on the offense), and instead have to rely on a power-based offense. On defense, because of the unit's reputation, the team has an easier time recruiting better athletes. The team's greatest strengths are cohesion (borne from long tenures and lots of time spent playing together) and discipline. While not athletically-deficient, the Regulars are not going to overwhelm opponents with superior athleticism or speed.

This is the team's 28th World Bowl competition (its first being World Bowl VII), and during that nearly 30-year span, the Regulars have won by far the most championships of any team in World Bowl history (six, at World Bowls XVI, XVII, XIX, XXIII, XXV, and XXVII) in seven finals appearances (all six wins, plus an unsuccessful finals berth at World Bowl XVIII, part of a stretch in which the Regulars went to the finals four consecutive years). As such, this is a team with a proud tradition and high expectations: any year in which the Regulars fail to advance to the World Bowl semifinals is considered at least a disappointment.

Front Office & General Staff

Commissioner: Benjamin Jamesunn (Age: 72) - Following the brief, tumultuous, and, to a lesser extent, disastrous tenure of Gaarutt Kolvyn as Allamunnic Sporting Commissioner for the duration of World Bowl XXXI, long-time Allamunnic National Gridiron Team executive and administrator Benjamin Jamesunn was selected by the Board as the next Commissioner. Jamesunn has a strong grasp of the practices that have long enabled the National Gridiron Team to be successful, and has pledged a return to the patient approach that has yielded six championships since World Bowl XVI.

General Manager: Erik Warnur (Age: 55)
Director of Player Personnel: Anna Torrensunn (Age: 47)

Team Doctors:
Graagur Maarkussunn (Age: 67), Rynna Eriksunn (Age: 60), Daanyl Waalturs (Age: 47), Grenna Wyllur (Age: 37), Joanna Kaarbrynn (Age: 37),

Athletic Trainers:
Maarda Lindersunn (Age: 50), Bryndyn Nyurdlunn (Age: 49), Torren Udunsunn (Age: 45), Kaarl Mendelsunn (Age: 46), Inna Wyllur (Age: 43), Olaf Knutsunn (Age: 44), Maura Kaarlsunn (Age: 42), Kyl Maatysunn (Age: 40), Lyna Henriksunn (Age: 38), Shae Eriklunn (Age: 34)

Strength & Conditioning Staff:
Harald Vynnsunn (Age: 48), Junna Riktur (Age: 43), Aelus Morden (Age: 45)

Coaching Staff

Head Coach & Coordinators
Head Coach: Baeryk Vaalburger (Age: 59) - This team is still under the leadership of long-time Regulars' head coach Baeryk Vaalburger. Vaalburger led the team to championship victory at World Bowls XXIII, XXV, and XXVII, but has had a less-accomplished tenure since then. In pursuit of revitalizing the team after a poor finish at World Bowl XXXII, Vaalburger has shaken down the defense, parting ways with several long-time starters, and working to bring the offense back to its power-first basics. He did it once, now, Allamunnic fans are hoping he can do it again.

Offensive Coordinator: Rikard Olafsunn (Age: 54) - The team's head coach at World Bowl XXXI returns as the Regulars' offensive coordinator, charged with taking the Allamunnic offense back to basics, to wind games with a grinding, power-geared attack, with odd wrinkles thrown in to keep opponents off balance. There's indications he might have found a muse in back-up quarterback Rowan Daanyls, but any fruit of that rash of scheming has yet to see the light of day.

Defensive Coordinator: Ryan Smart (Age: 51) - The team's head coach from World Bowl's XII through XXII, Ryan Smart returned after World Bowl XXXI to take up defensive coordinator duties. Smart is adaptable and aggressive in his play-calling, happy to change his approach to suit his personnel, and, as usual, the defense should hold up its end of the bargain in the Regulars' game plan.

Special Teams Coordinator: Phillipa Demirici (Age: 57) - Phillipa Demirici was a career-long Regular as a kicker, and since her retirement from playing, as a coach. Phillipa took over the coordinator job after the retirement of long-time coordinator Daanyl Mueller, and acquitted herself well enough to keep the job. The Regulars' special teams should continue to be capable under Demirici.

Quarterbacks Coach: Maarkus Daalhulm (Age: 51)
Running Backs Coach: Haanryk Staalburg (Age: 50)
Tight Ends Coach: Zak Hall (Age: 43)
Wide Receivers Coach: Mikel Dunn (Age: 52)
Offensive Line Coach: Hanrik Wurfytur (Age: 48)
Offensive Line Assistant Coach: Vaalhulm Rikken (Age: 42)
Defensive Line Coach: Theodur Laansur (Age: 50)
Defensive Line Assistant Coach: Archie Wagner (Age: 47)
Linebackers Coach: Miles Ryan (Age: 49)
Linebackers Assistant: Jason Ridley (Age: 49)
Defensive Backs Coach: Andrik Ierunmungur (Age: 49)
Defensive Backs Assistant: Leif Coelmunn (Age: 42)
Kicking Coach: Phillipa Demirici (Age: 56)
Returners Coach: Gretchen Vaalhulmsunn (Age: 43)

The Team

Offense

Overview:

The Regulars’ offense is boring. It’s not an insult, it’s by design. The Regulars utilize a fairly simple base offense, which can have wrinkles added or removed from it as necessary based on match-ups. At its heart, the Allamunnic offense is built on the power running game, and most of its best work is going to happen between the tackles.

The team’s personnel lends itself to doing its work on the power run game, forcing opponents to load the box against the Regulars, then relying on the strong arm of quarterback Graagur Wyrth to gash the defense on deep throws. Still, it’s a power offense in the truest sense of the term: the offense wins by overpowering opponents at the point of attack; Torren Tormundsunn (who primarily plays fullback, but will also line up as a tight-end or tailback) basically never comes off the field, and it’s rare for the Regulars to line up without at least one tight-end. The offensive line is a veteran unit that has accumulated fantastic chemistry over the years, and has the depth to rotate constantly, keeping the unit fresh over the course of games.

Unless the team is playing from far behind for most of the game, the Regulars will tend to have a run-to-pass ratio approaching 2:1; if the team gets 60 offensive plays, expect between 30 and 40 runs to 10 to 20 passes. It’s a pretty conservative offense: expect passes to mostly either come on first down, or on third-and-long. Most of their plays will be run out of some variant of the I-formation, although two-tight-end Ace fronts are not unusual, and the Regulars are also known to break out pro sets, the wishbone, and the pistol.

Starting Line-Up (2-1-2 Personnel)

LT#75 KAARLSUNN -- LG#68 STAAGHYRT -- CG#55 UNGUR -- RG#65 KNUTSUNN -- RT#50 ASTYR -- TE#82 JAARLSUNN
WR#85 BRAANUR -- QB#10 WYRTH -- WR#87 HOERST
FB#45 TORMUNDSUNN
HB#24 STAALBURG

Players By Position

Quarterbacks:
#10 - Graagur Wyrth - QB - Age: 31; H: 6'4"; W: 242lbs
#11 - Rowan Daanyls - QB - Age: 24; H: 6'0"; W: 192lbs
#15 - Leopyld Eriksunn - QB - Age: 35; H: 6’3”; W: 232lbs

The Regulars' top two quarterbacks return. Graagur Wyrth has a very strong arm, and his touch on shorter throws has improved dramatically, although he's still at his best throwing deep. He has some mobility in the pocket, on play-extending scrambles and bootlegs, but he's not really a running threat. Rowan Daanyls is quite different: her arm is pro-level, but nothing really special, but she's a dangerous down-field running threat (she is perfectly at ease in an option-based offense), and has a quick release and great accuracy on short and intermediate throws. Expect her to get situational playing time. Leopyld Eriksunn is a versatile, mobile veteran quarterback with a so-so arm, but who is durable and can be counted on to not make mistakes if he is thrown into the fire.

Offensive Backs:
#45 - Torren Tormundsunn - FB - Age: 30; H: 6'3"; W: 255lbs
#24 - Derrik Staalburg - HB - Age: 20; H: 6’1”; W: 230lbs
#38 - Grenn Jordsunn - FB - Age: 23; H: 6’2”; W: 241lbs
#03 - Ryanna Mueller - HB - Age: 20; H: 5’10”; W: 175lbs

Torren Tormundsunn is not likely to come off the field for the Regulars. He's first and foremost a blocker, but he's competent as a pass-catcher and a rusher, and as such, he will line up as a fullback or, if needed, as a tight-end/h-back, or as a tailback, if needed. New this year is Derrik Staalburg, who is the son of former National Team tailback Haanryk Staalburg. He has his father's uncanny mix of power and agility. Staalburg will likely get the lionshare of the team's carries. Grenn Jordsunn is a power-oriented back who can either back-up Tormundsunn as a fullback or provide rushing punch in short yardage situations. Ryanna Mueller is a shiftier "outside" back who is at her best with the ball in space. She might also see some snaps as a slot receiver.

Tight-Ends:
#82 - Udun Jaarlsunn - TE - Age: 28; H: 6'6"; W: 267lbs
#88 - Junn Lindstrom - TE - Age: 32; H: 6'5"; W: 254lbs
#42 - Margus Wyllsunn - TE - Age: 21; H: 6’3”; W: 250lbs

With the move of Godwyn Braanur to wide receiver, the starting tight-end job has been taken by strong, sure-handed Udun Jaarlsunn. Jaarlsunn is at his best in obvious passing situations, where he can either use his abilities as a powerful blocker, or can surprise opponents with his sneaky-good catching. He's likely to share a lot of snaps with long-time TE#2 Junn Lindstrom, who is more versatile, but is not as great a blocker as Jaarlsunn. Lindstrom is probably the team's primary "receiving tight-end", although he can hold his own in blocking. Margus Wyllsunn is a young, versatile, and explosive tight end who might provide the team some spark, but is still raw and so will often have trouble against more experience players both in blocking and route-running.

Receivers:
#85 – Godwyn Braanur – WR - Age: 33; H: 6'6"; W: 237lbs
#87 - Waldr Hoerst - WR - Age: 30; H: 6'5"; W: 226lbs
#80 - Ole Haensley - WR - Age: 28; H: 6'2"; W: 210lbs
#83 - Harlyn Wyrnur - WR - Age: 25; H: 6’2”; W: 218lbs
#13 - Kaalvyn Shraedur - WR - Age: 20; H: 6’4”; W: 216lbs

As he lost a step, Godwyn Braanur compensated by shedding weight and making the change to wide receiver. The lost weight gave him some of his explosiveness back, and now Braanur is back to being a legitimate deep threat for the Regulars and a genuine play-maker. His sure-handedness remains, and he is still a capable blocker in space. He is supplemented by the lighter, but similar Waldr Hoerst, who boasts a similar skill-set (if not quite having Braanur's natural athleticism), and makes his bread as a chain-moving receiver. Ole Haensley is a quicker, more explosive wideout who will get moved all over the field, both on the perimeter and in the slot, and is a threat to get behind opponents and gash them on big catches and runs. Harlyn Wyrnur and Kaalvyn Shraedur are big-bodied, sure-handed wideouts. While far from slow, their strength comes from... well, their strength, making catches in traffic. They can be useful deep, to be sure, but it is not their greatest ability by any means.

Left Tackles:
#75 - Bryndyn Kaarlsunn - LT - Age: 29; H: 6'6"; W: 322lbs
#78 - Rikard Waalburg - LT - Age: 23; H: 6'6"; W: 317lbs

Veteran book-end Bryndyn Kaarlsunn returns to anchor the blind-side. Kaarlsunn is at his best in pass protection, but he's also a capable mass-driver in the run-game, and he's also quite good at sealing off lanes of backside pursuit. Rikard Waalburg doesn't quite have Kaarlsunn's road-grading power, but he makes up for it with natural athleticism and quickness in pulling.

Left Guards:
#68 - Jorvik Staaghyrt - LG - Age: 28; H: 6'3"; W: 314lbs
#70 - Jormund Haagtynd - LG - Age: 23; H: 6'4"; W: 315lbs

Jorvik Staaghyrt and Jormund Haagtynd are both capable guards who rotate quite freely. In terms of frame, weight, athletic ability, and strength, they are very similar, and both play with a nastiness that's useful as they help power the Regulars' running game.

Center Guards:
#55 - Tyrrus Ungur - CG - Age: 28; H: 6'4"; W: 310lbs
#60 - Bryndyn Ulfsunn - CG - Age: 25; H: 6’3”; W: 314lbs

Tyrrus Ungur anchors the Regulars' offensive line, having developed a fantastic chemistry with Graagur Wyrth and, to a lesser extent, Rowan Daanyls. Ungur has the athletic chops and strength to do his part in driving the Regulars' running game and protecting passers. As the leader of the offensive line, Ungur also calibrates blocking schemes prior the snap, and is crucial to the line's success, but he'd be an excellent guard even without those abilities. Bryndyn Ulfsunn is a capable back-up with a varied skill-set, but, while not a liability, would represent a significant drop-off from Ungur if forced into the field for an extended period.

Right Guards:
#65 - Snaari Knutsunn - RG - Age: 30; H: 6'4"; W: 317lbs
#67 - Margus Brynnur - RG - Age: 24; H: 6’3”; W: 313lbs

Arguably the star of the Regulars' excellent offensive line is Snaari Knutsunn. Knutsunn plays with a berserker's fury and a technician's focus. He plays low, has the strength to blow even the strongest tackles off the ball, and has the heft and long arms to secure leverage both in the pass and run games. Knutsunn is a large part of why the Regulars' run game is so effective, whether he's leading run-side blocking, or if he's annihilating defenders a little too eager to follow a pulling guard, he's a menace to defensive linemen and would-be playmakers. Margus Brynnur is a competent guard, but represents a sharp drop-off in talent from a player as good as Knutsunn.

Right Tackles:
#50 - Baeryk Astyr - RT - Age: 27; H: 6'4"; W: 319lbs
#63 - Wilryk Braandur - RT - Age: 21; H: 6'5"; W: 323lbs

Baeryk Astyr is an athletic, strong tackle who plays with excellent leverage and a low pad level. He's a major force in the run game, is competent in pass protection, but is not so irreplaceable that he cannot rotate with his back-up. Wilryk Braandur has a little more natural heft to him, but is still well-rounded enough to acquit himself well in the variety of situations the Regulars' linemen are called upon to do battle in.

Defense

Overview:

The Regulars' defense has changed fronts yet again to deal with the fit in its personnel; there was a large purge of starters and veterans that leaves the Regulars more suited for the 3-4 than the 4-3. That said, the team's defensive front is, in many cases, cosmetic; using the same 11 personnel, the team can shift between both fronts, with Rush Linebacker Theodur Waalturs able to play as a linebacker or as a defensive end in a 5 or even 7 technique.

The linebacking corps is plenty capable, but the most experienced and dangerous areas of the Allamunnic defense are in the front and in the back; the defensive line is still manned by long-time starters Odyn Grahulm and defensive captain Piotr Farrangur, with Nyurd Svaartwynn filling the nosetackle position following the retirement of Rikard Theodur. In the secondary, ball-hawking corner Rikard Junnsunn has moved to free safety, while Bryndyn Witt and Anke Baenty will man the corner positions. Claetus U'Daanyl remains the roving defensive enforcer, able to play as a linebacker, as an outside blitzer, in coverage, or as a punishing last line of defense on deep plays.

Defensive signals will be called by the most-experienced remaining linebacker, Kaarl Voegyl, who has moved to man the middle linebacker spot. Expect a lot of blitzes and aggressive play out of the defense, and a lot of forced turnovers; the Regulars do sometimes give up big plays, but they tend to force most offenses to sputter between them, and they make sustained ball movement difficult.

While the 3-4 is the base front the Regulars will use, they can also shift to a 4-3 or even a 4-4 without changing personnel configurations. Rotation will be frequent in most cases unless noted otherwise, and the Regulars will break out nickel and dime packages on a situational basis.

Starting Line-Up (3-4 Base Front)

DE#66 GRAHULM -- NT#90 SVAARTWYNN -- DT#95 FARRANGUR
SLB#98 ROENYR -- MLB#44 VOEGYL -- WLB#47 CORWYNN -- RLB#59 WAALTURS
LCB#07 WITT -- SS#23 U'DAANYL -- FS#09 JUNNSUNN -- RCB#05 BAENTY

Players By Position

Defensive End:
#66 - Odyn Grahulm - DE - Age: 24; H: 6'4"; W: 310lbs
#76 - Olesunn Kriegur - DE - Age: 21; H: 6’3”; W: 304lbs

Odyn Grahulm anchors the strong-side of the Regulars' defensive line. He's a disruptive player both against the run and pass, with the speed necessary to competently work to the outside, the strength, low pad level, and arms needed to accomplish leverage on the inside and collapse pockets, and the awareness to flow to the play or crush a running lane into oblivion. Ole Kriegur is a well-rounded end, but he's nowhere near Grahulm's equal; he can hold the line reasonably well, but he's not likely to make many big plays of his own.

Nosetackle:
#90 - Nyurd Svaartwynn - NT - Age: 30; H: 6'5"; W: 338lbs
#91 - Baard Ulryk - NT - Age: 23; H: 6’4”; W: 334lbs
#74 - Joran Haargrave - DT - Age: 24; H: 6'3"; W: 321lbs

Nyurd Svaartwynn takes over the nosetackle/strong-side tackle role vacated by Rikard Theodur's retirement. Svaartwynn isn't quite the consummate playmaker that Theodur was, but he has the strength and frame to clog the middle and collapse running lanes. He and Baard Ulryk (also capable) are the kinds of players that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet, but whose contributions will be significant. Joran Haargrave can either provide a second inside tackle in 4-3 fronts, or can, in a pinch, serve as a nosetackle. His strengths run towards the former, but he's competent enough at the latter if called on.

Defensive Tackle:
#95 - Piotr Farrangur - DT - Age: 32; H: 6'6"; W: 317lbs
#93 - Harald Baaltrlunn - DT - Age: 29; H: 6'4"; W: 318lbs
#99 - Baeryk Moergyn - DL - Age: 20; H: 6’4”; W: 320lbs

The defensive line (and defense as a whole) is still captained by veteran defensive tackle Piotr Farrangur. Age is starting to slow Farrangur a little bit, but he still has a nose for the ball and the ability to collapse running lanes, while also providing an interior bolster to the pass rush. Farrangur won't come off the field much unless it's to get a rest. When he does need a spell, it will likely be courtesy of veteran tackle and long-time back-up Harald Baaltrlunn, a big-framed, strong tackle who is not quite the same playmaker, but certainly won't embarrass anyone. Baeryk Moergyn is still learning, but he has the size, strength, and instincts to be the next in a long line of great Allamunnic defensive tackles.

Strong-Side Linebacker:
#98 - Corryk Roenyr - SLB - Age: 20; H: 6’5”; W: 262lbs
#57 - Faeryk Joergsunn - SLB - Age: 23; H: 6’4”; W: 263lbs

With the move of Kaarl Voegyl to middle linebacker, the important SAM linebacker position became vacant, prompting a training camp position battle between longer-tenured Faeryk Joergsunn and new arrival Corryk Roenyr. While both made strong cases for the starting job (and both will see plenty of playing time), it was Roenyr who most impressed coaches with his instincts in coverage and as a situational pass-rusher, supplementing his abilities as an absolute sledgehammer against the run as an edge-setter. Joergsunn is actually the better pass-rusher, but is not quite the same kind of terror against the run as Roenyr, who brings to mind Regulars like Maarkus Staalhelm and Fradrik Eriksunn.

Middle Linebacker:
#44 - Kaarl Voegyl - MLB - Age: 24; H: 6'4"; W: 258lbs
#56 - Kaarl Jornur - MLB - Age: 27; H: 6'2"; W: 253lbs
#54 - Graegyr Lukas - MLB - Age: 20; H: 6’3”; W: 248lbs

Kaarl Voegyl had previously distinguished himself as a versatile SAM linebacker, and between his varied skill-set, his experience, and obvious gridiron intelligence, Voegyl was the obvious choice to take over from the departed Rikard Eriksunn as the defense's new signal-caller. Voegyl is a physical tackling machine who can play a ball hawk in the middle of the field, or even provide some extra punch inside in the pass rush. Kaarl Jornur is a journeyman linebacker who can fill in for Voegyl in a pinch, but loses out in the starting job battle due to just not being the same kind of playmaker. Graegyr Lukas is a young, athletic playmaking linebacker who lacks the experience needed to lead the Regulars' defense. He'll likely be a player to watch in a few years, but for now, he's a competent rotating player who will likely alternate between flashes of brilliance and youthful mistakes.

Weak-Side Linebacker:
#47 - Margus Corwynn - WLB - Age: 24; H: 6'3"; W: 252lbs
#48 - Aeryn Warryk - WLB - Age: 24; H: 6’3”; W: 243lbs

The weakside linebacker position is manned by committee for the Regulars, with the stronger Margus Corwynn handling more of the obvious running situations and providing punch to the pass rush, while the smaller, quicker Aeryn Warryk is a menace in coverage, especially in the flats or against screen passes. If the Regulars' defense has a weakness, the unremarkable manning of the Weakside Linebacker position is probably it, although it's not a particularly glaring one.

Rush Linebacker
#59 - Theodur Waalturs - RLB - Age: 19; H: 6'3"; W: 265lbs
#53 - Rebeka Kaarlsunn - RLB - Age: 21; H: 6’1”; W: 222lbs

The son of Allamunnic National Team legend Honorius Waalturs continues his journey with his father's old team. Theodur Waalturs steps into the starting pass-rusher role with the departure of Ardryk Jaarlsunn and Olaf Rynnur to the domestic league. Waalturs is an explosive and powerful pass rusher who can also acquit himself well against the run. Youthful exuberance and passion prove an occasional problem, but young Waalturs is already blooming into a prototypical Regulars' defender. He is supported by young speed-rusher Rebeka Kaarlsunn. Kaarlsunn doesn't have the size and strength to overpower linemen, so she has to get by on her agility, quickness, and instincts for finding the ball. She's also capable in coverage, which is one of Waalturs' few areas of weakness.

Left Cornerback:
#07 - Bryndyn Witt - LCB - Age: 25; H: 6'1"; W: 214lbs
#26 - Fredrik Junnsunn - LCB - Age: 20; H: 6’1”; W: 212lbs

Bryndyn Witt has been moved to the left-side cornerback position, which calls for more run-stopping, so that Anke Baenty can take the right side. Witt is a big, physical corner in a similar mold to Rikard Junnsunn (whose move to safety necessitated Witt's shift). He should acquit himself well; he's not as likely to snag lots of interceptions like Junnsunn did, but, if anything, he plays his coverages even closer. Fredrik Junnsunn (no relation to Rikard) is a young, big-bodied corner with the build and instincts to be an elite corner in a few years. Until then, he's a raw-but-capable rotating supplement to Witt.

Strong Safety:
#23 - Claetus U'Daanyl - SS - Age: 25; H: 6'1"; W: 220lbs
#17 - Aldryk Baerunsunn - SS - Age: 24; H: 6’1”; W: 218lbs

Claetus U'Daanyl is a terror to offensive skill players of all stripes. The Regular's defensive enforcer plays all over the field, as a safety, as a linebacker, and as a pass-rusher, destroying receivers mid-catch and putting a hurt on running backs that think they can run him over. He's one of the more vocal leaders of the Regulars' defense, and he'll make plays in all phases of the game, all over the field. Aldryk Baerunsunn is versatile and athletic, similar to U'Daanyl (maybe not to quite the same extent), but doesn't quite have Claetus' sheer nastiness or knack for finding the ball.

Free Safety:
#09 - Rikard Junnsunn - FS - Age: 31; H: 6'1"; W: 210lbs
#31 - Kaarltunn Gaaruttsunn - FS - Age: 24; H: 6’0”; W: 205lbs

Rikard Junnsunn has played cornerback for the Regulars for a long time. His aging and loss of some of his youthful speed has required him to put his ball-hawking skills and coverage smarts in a new position, roving the backfield as a hard-hitting, ball-hawking safety. Junnsunn is a natural fit to the position, and as a result, Kaarltunn Gaaruttsunn is only an occasional rotating player, mostly on hand to spell Junnsunn. Still, in a year or two, Gaaruttsunn should be able to provide a more full-time replacement as necessary.

Right Cornerback:
#05 - Anke Baenty - RCB - Age: 25; H: 5'10"; W: 177lbs
#18 - Shonn Viktur - RCB - Age: 21; H: 6’1”; W: 204lbs

With the reshuffling of the backfield, former free safety Anke Baenty sees herself shifted to the right-side cornerback position. This is fine by her, giving her more opportunities to pick off passes and generally frustrate quarterbacks, both in coverage and on the blitz. Anke loves to jump slant and screen routes, and she has an uncanny knack for swatting away passes that aren't *quite* close enough on target. Shonn Viktur is a big-bodied young corner who will supplement Anke as a youthful, inexperienced back-up.

Special Teams

Overview:

Once upon a time, special teams (specifically kick and punt coverage) were huge liabilities for the Regulars. Over the years this has ceased to be the case; although they do concede the odd big special teams play here and there, on the whole the Regulars are well-equipped to win the battle of field position. This is in no small part due to the effectiveness of veteran place-kicker Kaarl Hunt and expert punter Wyatt Skode. Skode in particular is a huge part of the Regulars' defensive strategy, and while kick-offs still sometimes go awry, punt coverage has actually been a strength for the Regulars of late.

Players By Position

Placekicker:
#46 - Kaarl Hunt - K - Age: 30; H: 6'2"; W: 225lbs

Kaarl Hunt has been with the team for years. He's a reliable place-kicker who rarely misses inside of 50 yards. He's a little dicey beyond that, although he makes field goals out to 55 yards a little more often than not. Outside of the 55 yard mark, it's a little more of a crapshoot.

Punter:
#04 – Wyatt Skode – P - Age: 39; H: 6'0"; W: 215lbs – CAPTAIN

The Regulars' defense counts a lot on Wyatt Skode's ability to flip the field at the drop of a hat; the almost-40-year-old punter still has an excellent leg and has only gotten better, technique-wise, as his career has wound on; he's an expert on rugby-style punts and is good at dropping punts into corners where they can't be returned.

Long Snapper:
#71 - Vaargus Kynt - LS - Age: 29; H: 6'2"; W: 285lbs

Vaargus Kynt is a little smaller than the Regulars like their linemen to be, which is why, while he is, theoretically, the third-string center, he's not likely to do anything beyond long-snapping unless things have gone dreadfully wrong. Still, his snaps are reliable and near-perfect, so that's not exactly a problem for anyone.

Return Specialist:
#08 - Lyna Donalsunn - FS - Age: 30; H: 5'10"; W: 154lbs
#84 - Andya Haartly - WR - Age: 24; H: 6’0”; W: 168lbs

To keep her spot on the team after losing a step, safety Lyna Donalsunn has added kick returns to her repertoire. She's actually quite good at it, having a nose for open field and slipping tackles, and while she's not as fast as she once was, she's surprisingly slippery. Reserve receiver Andya Haartly has more blazing speed than Donalsunn, and might well see some action as a slot reciever as well as a return specialist.

Schedule & Outlook

Group & Outlook
Group B
#6 - Federation of Allamunic States
#9 - Union of Socialist Alpine Republics
#41 - Vangaziland
#46 - Ranoria
UR- United Artherian Federation
UR - Golden State Warriorz

The Regulars have been drawn into Group B alongside a fair number of reasonably successful returning teams. The Allamunnic team will have its work cut out for it, sharing the group with the 9th-ranked Union of of Socialist Alpine Republics, a team that has seen some considerable success in their relatively short World Bowl tenure. The narrow rank gap between the two suggests that this will be a tough slog for the Regulars. They will also face off against deceptively-low ranked, but still capable teams out of Vangaziland (which seems to be battling against some unusual gridiron traditions) and Ranoria (which seems to be having a minor identity crisis within their program). The Federation will also face off against unranked Artheria and the oddly-named "Golden State Warriorz" who are as-yet untested, and with relatively little known of them, the Regulars will have to be wary that they are not caught off-guard.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
National American football team

Abanhfleft returns to the World Bowl after getting beaten by Greater Vakolicci Haven in the competition's 33rd edition for another shot at lifting that elusive trophy. The team went through a lot of challenges before finally lifting that coveted trophy, up to and including losing team members and staff in the crash of Air Abanhfleft Flight 5116 as well as being once swept aside by The United States of Saints, an unranked team at the time of that particular competition but is now nowhere to be found once again. Consistency is the key, they say, and Abanhfleft has been a little bit consistent these past few competitions; consistently losing, that is. The warriors of Abanhfleft will hope to buck that trend and regain both the crown and top spot this time.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation
: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic

Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +2. Abanhfleft has adopted a new, more conservative attacking style of play under new coach Marius Magnussen.

HOME STADIUM
Image
The Amado Isauro-Imponte Garden in Kammala, Garufaloe Province, home of the Garufaloe Sidewinders of the FNLAF, will be playing host to the Fleftic national gridiron team's home matches. It has an official capacity of 51,000 people, but attendance regularly exceeds that figure thanks to a rabid fanbase, and people preferring to stand up or sit on the stairs whenever capacity is filled.

THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF PRIDNESTROVIA
NATIONAL GRIDIRON FOOTBALL TEAM

Gridiron football, or as the morally corrupt Westerners call it, American football, has little to no interest at all in the United Socialist States. The properly European sports of association football (or in Pridnestrovia, real football) and rugby union are by far and large the most popular sports in the United Socialist States (along with the ironically very American sport of basketball, but that's another story for another time), but by no means does that mean that President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko is not going to take advantage of an opportunity to win an international trophy for Pridnestrovia when the President Field Marshal learned that there will be a new World Bowl about to occur in the weirdly-named nation of Bongo Johnson. President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko presents the Pridnestrovian national gridiron football team, and a new and glorious gridiron league is now up and running in Pridnestrovia! Truly, gridiron football has done wonders and marvels for the Pridnestrovian Republic!

Official statement of intent

Addressee: Hoho Nonon, Havenssport chief commissioner
Origin: Eoridh nos Alauradin, Havenssport Velstrania chief commissioner
Regarding: Our response to institutionalised racism

Mr. Nonon;
It is improper to state that the issue of racism within the Havenssport establishment has come to my attention, for it has not recently done so. Rather, I, others and anybody connected to sports; including of course the casual observer would be able to spot the fact that only on one professional havenic sports team (water polo) has a player from my nation been permitted to compete alongside other Havenic citizens. In football and rugby we are excluded entirely, while the Haven is quite willing to take advantage of our superior height, weight and determination in order to gain an advantage in gridiron football as well as in basketball: we are, to be blunt, fed up wih this treatment.
An all-havenic team can represent the haven in the 4 sports I have previously mentioned which are segregated, as we have proved many times, for example at the most recent summer Olympics when we brought our own team, following your refusal to nominate any Velsturman athletes; I am left therefore to believe that this deliberate segregation is based on racism from yourself and your administration, which cannot be tolerated in the modern world of sports. Furthermore, one nation which of course not tolerate this is Velstrania, whose assets in most other factors are quite separate from the Haven's...I can today confirm that sport, one of the few things that binds us together, will cease to.

As of today, the provinces of Nuie-Velstur, Zugh-Velstur and Velstursgotland shall cease to be a part of Havenssport, under the terms of the provincial representation act 1832. These provinces shall form a new organisation, tentatively referred to as Havenssport Velstrania which will represent Velstrania in international sporting competitions. In account of the current participation of non-Velsturman teams in many sports, such as football and rugby, Velstrania will offer Havenssport the right to supercede our claim to a place in international competition where only one team is allowed to compete from the same nation; similarly we ask that the same right be offered to Havenssport Velstrania in gridiron football and basketball.
For reasons of bookkeeping, this change shall take place following the conclusion of the world bowl which is set to start shortly; however, stadium signage will refer to the team participating as 'Velstrania,' rather than as 'Greater Vakolicci Haven.'

Though this was nobodys wish, I hope that this can lead to a fairer sporting future for athletes from the entire Haven, and for a settlement to the long-running racism problem plaguing the Havenssport organisation.
With hope and determination,
- Eoridh.

NEWMANISTAN ROCKETS

WORLD BOWL 34 ROSTER

"Proudly underachieving since World Bowl I"

Starters (Offense) (Standard Formation, Multiple Formations will actually be used)
QB- #6- Alex Nelligan, 27, Tundra Falls Mariners (First time starter, backup in WB 33)
HB- #22- Cameron Hall, 26, Putnam Lake Eagles (Averages 60% of carries)
FB- #48- Jimmie Gordon, 31, Daytopia Racers
WR- #83- Kevin Ambroziak, 26, Putnam Lake Eagles
WR- #80- Eddie White, 31, Olympia Gladiators
TE- #86- Clyde Sanders, 23, South Charlotte Condors (First time on team)
LT- #77- Ricky Longhurst, 35, Pocono City Capitals (Offensive Captain)
LG- #66- Kevin Shields, 29, Putnam Lake Eagles (First Time starter)
C- #69- Peter Dorsey, 31, North Charlotte Wildcats (3rd String in WB 32)
RG- #62- Darius Chansler, 29, Eastport Falcons
RT- #79- Edwin Cochrane, 34, North Falls Rivermen

About the offense:
Another World Bowl, another change at the starting QB position. As the Empire continues to struggle to find a QB that can consistently bring the team success, Alex Nelligan is now the starter. Also, as was the case in World Bowl 33, when the Rockets moved Ryan Larkin to be the starter, those that preceded him are off the team entirely. The same is true now, as Larkin is gone. All the blame could not be put on the QB, but its always the convenient position to blame. New QB Nelligan, who’s more of a pocket passer, has many of the same offensive weapons surrounding him, with the main exception being the inclusion of Clyde Sanders as he is a major receiving target.

The offensive line is mainly in tact from last time. Ricky Longhurst returns again, and this man is simply not going to be outsmarted. He is a mastermind of the game, and a true warrior. He will not be beaten tactically. You may beat him physically, but not tactically, and he is almost never called for penalties. More then likely, it’s the other side of the line guilty when that key holding call is made against us.

Starters (Defense) (The Rockets Generally Use a 4-3 Base)
DE- #95- Lavion Santiago, 25, Putnam Lake Eagles (First Time Starter)
DE- #91- Keith Koening, 26, Tundra Falls Mariners (First Time Starter)
DT- #98- Pedro Cardenas, 30, Putnam Lake Eagles
DT- #97- Anthony Holliday, 25, Jessicaville Millionaires (First Time On Team)
ILB- #55- Jorge Santana, 26, Pocono City Capitals (First Time Starter)
MLB- #50- Paul Helmer, 31, Concord Broncos (Defensive Captain)
OLB- #53- Harvey Bishop, 24, Tundra Falls Mariners
FS: #27- Brian Headley, 23, Springfield Thoroughbreds
SS: #28- Tyler Baynes, 27, Putnam Lake Eagles
CB: #21- Taeshawn Gilles, 29, Southport Tigers (Shutdown Corner assigned to your #1 WR)
CB: #31- Marques Cordova, 28, Centralia Cougars

About The Defense:
The defense is in flux somewhat, with some new additions that are occurring to the former players getting older and a little past their prime now, and not because it needed a facelift. Interestingly, where Newmanistan had been strongest the last two World Bowls, stopping the run, could now be a cause for concern if the young players cannot step up. The secondary was a newer unit for World Bowl 33, so while it will be helpful that they have that experience, even they could be vulnerable. Due to this, there may be more pressure on the offense.

Bench (Offense)
QB: #7- Evan Desorbo, 25, Daytopia Racers
QB: #15- Donovan Williams, 22, North Charlotte Wildcats

HB: #30- Anthony Padula, 23, Southport Tigers (Averages 5% of carries)
HB: #32- Shawn Claussen, 31, Springfield Thoroughbreds
FB: #44- Aric Scott, 35, Pocono City Capitals (Very occasional usage)
FB: #49- Randy Harriman, 29, Putnam Lake Eagles (Minimal usage, if at all)
TE: #89- Greg Hoffman, 24, Brighton Bulls (Blocking Specialist)

Head Coach: Alastair Jobs. 62 years old. The head coach at the University of Loyola-Istria for 20 seasons, until hired to the national team by Daniachew. Daniachew himself coached Banija in 4 World Bowls, and went to the semifinals in World Bowl 29, World Bowl 30, and World Bowl 31. The legend was made head of the Banijan Gridiron Football Association, and hired Alastair Jobs to play for the national team.

Offensive Coordinator: Jeremiah Johnson, 52 years old. He, alongside offensive guru, has tried to retool this Banijan national side into an offensive juggernaut. While he'd like to have a quarterback a little more accurate than his current one, he makes plays to put his playmakers in space- Kasou, Greenspan, and Ceesay.

Defensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach: Jonah White. 52 years old. The defensive coordinator was a defensive coordinator in Banija for a number of years, and now will have his chance with the national team. He has an aggressive defensive style that goes for big plays. He will blitz a lot and play man to man. Which means that with the frequency his defenses make a big play, a turnover or a sack or a big hit, they are susceptible to allowing plenty of big plays as well.

Special Teams Coordinator/Strength & Conditioning Coach: Iyoas Motuma.

Anthoran National Gridiron Team
" Celridge Voodoo "

The Celridge Voodoo, also called the Voodoo or Vengeful V's, are the gridiron football team that represents the Kingdom of Anthor, and the Anthoran Gridiron League (AGL) on the international playing field. This will be the second time that the Voodoo participate in the World Bowl, having debuted with great success in World Bowl 32 where they made it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. The team, Anthoran Gridiron League and the Ministry of Sports decided to skip World Bowl 33 despite the success they found the first time around, as the AGL was not founded until after WB32 and having a year off would give the players time to further progress and refine their skill base and not overwhelm players who were trying to adjust into their domestic teams, and their international roles. With an off-season to allow for focus and training, Celridge is eager to return and build further upon the success they found the first time they entered the Bowl, though notes that having South Covello and Free Republics will be hard competitions - though Head Coach Turnbull does like to point out that we had much stiffer challenges from West Saintland and Drawkland, who were 17th and 2nd at the time, on our debut performance, and we managed to qualify for playoffs there.
