Short question if allowed: Is there a program or template for creating these nice circuit maps, or do you guys just all have very calm hands when using Photoshop/Gimp brushes?

Updated again.

West-East Timor, Sorlovia, -Anthor-, Vulkanas, Lisander, Aji no Moto, Hodori, Taeshan and Northwest kalactin all have slight problems with their signups. Please check the OP.

If you can't see the problem, please TG me.

I use Paint.Net (It's like Photoshop but for idiots) with two layers. One for straights, to be done with the straight line tool, then the other to fill in the curves with the curvy line tool. A quick outline with the 'make an outline' tool and Bob's your uncle.

Yes, largely. Just so everyone is on the same page.

Aboveland wrote:As for the "avoid calling other drivers reckless, etc." bit in the RP guidelines, does that apply for RPing a driver getting pissed at another after, say, an accident? Are those words strictly forbidden in any context or can they be used "responsibly"?

Your characters are totally allowed to get pissed off at other drivers. A character can blame another for something as long as it's clear that it's that character's opinion. You should simply be extra careful when representing someone else's character(s)

Some people here are graphic design gods, while others are mere mortals like me. I use Paint.net and lay down lines until it looks nice (admittedly, I went a more sophisticated route this year and traced over a picture of a sketch I made).

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Rykinsvik City Circuit
CITY/TOWN: Rykinsvik
COUNTRY: Vulkanas
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Ångström Electric Grand Prix of Vulkanas
TRACK RATING: 3/7
QUALIFYING TYPE: Two-Tier
LAP RECORD: 0:58.569 seconds (Wasn't really sure if this was reasonable, I'm willing to change it if you want)
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 2.94 km
BIO: Following increased desire to promote motorsport in Vulkanas and WGPC efforts last season, a street circuit has been approved in Rykinsvik, taking drivers and fans on a high-speed tour of the Vulkan captial city. This should be an exciting challenge for drivers, who must traverse the bumpy, often narrow streets and sharp turns of the city, and brings the magic of the WGPC to Vulkanas for a weekend, with many events planned around the race.

The cars will set off from in one lane of the road going through the picturesque Kanslersparken, with the other lane used for pits with a temporary building put in place. After a short run from the line, the first two corners are a series of roundabouts, a unique feature on the WGPC calendar which should challenge both car and driver.

What follows is a fast yet curving section of track as the drivers head onto the motorway. This should be a true test of the raw speed and downforce of cars and the bravery of the drivers who must decide whether to risk going flat out despite the sweeping corners. Fans should see and hear the cars flash down this section, which at one point goes down into an underpass tunnel. Next the drivers must negotiate a brief crossing to the other side of the canal, with two smooth turns separated by a short straight.

Once back onto the central island of Rykinsvik, traction will be tested with three 90 degree turns in quick succession, which will force drivers to be patient else they may run out of grip and face the barriers. This section may favour the immediate torque delivery of electric and hybrid vehicles. A sprint down Kejserligavenyn follows, which will see drivers cross back over to south Rykinsvik and into Kanslersparken with a sharp hairpin before returning to the finish straight.

The Rykinsvik city circuit is a short but high-speed track but, thanks to its street-circuit nature, remains highly technical and testing for man and machine alike.
The Ångström Electric Grand Prix of Vulkanas is sure to be a race to remember!

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Yarkovo International Circuit
CITY/TOWN: Yarkovo (ca. 75 km southeast of Novaya Russica)
COUNTRY: Savojarna
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix of Savojarna
TRACK RATING: (7/3)
QUALIFYING TYPE: Two-Tier
LAP RECORD: 1:23.92 (set by Sigur Bjarnason in qualifying for the Savojar National Racing Championships, not WGPC-conform car - can be expected to be ca. 5-10 seconds faster)
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 4.891 km
BIO: Savojarna decided to accompany its debut in the WGPC with a new, purpose-built race track in the fields outside the small town of Yarkovo, southeast of Novaya Russica. The areal is highly modern and planned by the best race-track designer of Savojarna, Lauris Peramäki. Peramäki has been the chief track designer of the Savojar Automobile Racing Association for over 15 years, being in charge of the national championships in both rallye and road racing. The SARA has designed the track together with engineers of the Technical University of Pawlograd, in order to provide a safe and spectacular racing experience. The track does offer good opportunities to overtake thanks to its high speed layout broken by tight corners which provide possibilities for attacks. It tests technical ability of drivers through its corners, their bravery and skill through its high-speed nature and the limits of brakes and aerodynamics through the highspeed corners of sector 3.

The start of the track is located on the main straight, and cars enter a slightly over 90°-Turn after the main straight. This is a prime opportunity for overtaking as the cars need to lose a large amount of speed to turn around T1 with 100-110 km/h. Following it, there is a combination of three fast turns that provide a challenge to drivers as they are challenged with finding the ideal speed for these corners. The cars then speed up again as they leave Sector 1, approaching the first of two challenging chicanes. The combination of turn 5-7 is another point where drivers have to break heavily and turn through three difficult corners, offering drivers good opportunities to overtake "on the brake". Rushing down towards Turn 8, the cars pass the first DRS detection line to brake hard again, slowing to ca. 130 km/h for Turn 8. Following T8, there is the longest full-speed part of the track. Turn 9 offers a special challenge to the driver's audacity. The kink is usually passable in full speed if the weather is good, but the fact that there are walls only 1.5m next to the track leaves almost no margin for error at this point. At the exit of Sector 2, the combination of turns 10 to 12 offers yet another good opportunity for overtaking. The track is wide there, but the corners are tight, so that skilled pilots will be able to pass their opponents as they have to brake from over 300 km/h, the course's top speed, to around 100 km/h for Turn 10. The wavy lines of sector 3 then offer a challenge to the cars aerodynamics, as only those with the best downforce will be able to pass this highspeed section with maximum power. Turn 15 and 16 finally offer yet another challenge that forces drivers to brake quickly, opening gaps for others to overtake them.

BIO: A state-run team, Trasnet Racing was established just 9 years ago by Gavril Băsescu, the People's Minister of Sport & Entertainment. Trasnet Racing was entered into the ZPOC in 2008. The team had a huge advantage over their rivals as they were the only professional outfit, plus the huge amounts of government funding behind them. Without fail, the ZPOC Championship has been won by Trasnet Racing every year since their entrance. Inside Zukovina, Trasnet Racing is renowned for the infighting that plagues the team, with stories about heated disputes between the Team Principle Nicolae Lăzărescu and his drivers widely circulated. However, despite the team's unfortunate propensity for drama, the team is known for building a very well balanced if slightly unreliable car, it being quick (powered by the Vuiet WX17 engine) and nimble in the corners.

Edited my car to make it look better - I'll try and get a circuit application in by Christmas

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Autodromo Internazionale del Rivoli
CITY/TOWN: Val de Rivoli
COUNTRY: Nekoni
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: NEXPRO Gran Premio di Nekoni
TRACK RATING: 4/6
QUALIFYING TYPE: Traditional
LAP RECORD: 1'41.489
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 5,968m | 3.708mi
BIO: Nekoni's newest circuit in the picturesque valleys of the southwest is a brutal mix of narrow tight corners and tricky elevation changes. Whilst the scenery may look fantastic, any time spent idly gazing at the surrounding vista will probably end up with the car in a wall or a gravel trap. The middle half was itself part of one of the most infamous driving roads in the country; in its prime in the mid 60s it wouldn't be uncommon to see a Grand Prix driver throw his car around its ribbon-like turns...and also not uncommon to see them never make it out the other side. Although care has been taken to make the track less deadly then the pass was before its closure in 1971, it is no less difficult to drive. At just over a kilometre, the pit straight is plenty enough room to hit full throttle, but the twisty nature of the track requires a compex, balanced setup.

From the beginning left-right chicane, drivers build their speed with a long, sweeping, ascending right over the blind apex of Turn 3, the entire section decked with Armco barriers on its right to prevent a long drop. The next turn, a tight-second gear right-hander, begins a dramatic descent. After straightening out through Turn 5, a short straightaway leads to a deceptively simple right, which tightens into the kink at Turn 7. Precise braking control will be required to give drivers the best possible attack point for Turn 8, the most infamous point of the circuit. Named 'The Carousel', this hard left is banked slightly, allowing those who can get the angle precise can minimise their speed loss for the next stage of the lap. Those who overshoot risk running afoul of the surprisingly short gravel trap, and may well find their car to be rapidly introduced to Rivoli's scenic rock formations!

Handling the Carousel well may still not save the driver from being dashed against the rock, as the following straight section has a cliff running all across the right-hand side, making what would have been two straightforward right kinks noticeably more risky given the lack of margin for error outside of the kerbs. Mercifullly, Turn 11 has a grassy runoff added, a much safer prospect than the steep drop that awaited those in the past who misjudged their speed here!

From Turn 11 we continue deep in the valley, with a short, yet narrow straight section. The next slow right is set at the opening of the valley,
which makes it a prime point for spectators, and from here, we begin the climb back up to the finish. The complex from 13 to 18 is a fairly simple section, which makes the exit from Turn 12 crucial. The hill peaks at Turn 16, minorly dips in the following straight, before ascending again through the next two turns.

The final two corners are as tricky as they look. With the lack of space between the track and the pit straight, Turn 19 is almost completely flanked on the right by a thick tyre wall, to trap those who were lulled into a false sense of security by the preceding section. The final hairpin,
a tight right, is made slightly simpler by its proximity to the previous corner, but can still pack a nasty punch. Following that, it's a half-mile blast up the hill along the straight to complete your lap.

NAME: Erica Okumura
NAME TRIGRAM: BIS
GENDER: Female, feline-humanoid cross
NATIONALITY: Nekonian
NATIONALITY TRIGRAM: NEK
NUMBER: 47
ABILITY: 3.25/4.75
BIO: Aged 21, Erica hasn't been in the game for long, but she's learnt the ropes astoundingly quickly. At age 20, she became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious 24hr open-wheel endurance race in Varea, Nekoni's capital. Aficionados of the WGPC may know that she took that record from the one-time champion and pit boss of Polaris Racing, Alexandra Mayari. There's more than a passing resemblance to her in Erica's driving too: where the Phoenix even by her own admission had a very inconsistent WGPC career, when the results went her way, she shone on the track, and Erica has displayed the same level of pinpoint accuracy that Mayari showed in her prime at the end of WGPC13.

The inaugural season of Nekoni's national open-wheel championship, Superformula Nekoni in 2016 was dominated by the prodigy, winning 6 of the ten races, and making the podium three out of the four other races. The most dramatic of these wins came at the Nova Valley circuit, the Nekoni round for WGPC15, where somehow she managed to eke out a win from the very back of the pack, overtaking her rival on the very last turn.

With her spot in the Polaris team almost a guarantee at this point, one can only wonder about what exciting racing Okumura will bring to the table.

Right. Now that Christmas and New Year are out of the way (happy holidays everyone, etc) I've updated the OP of the thread. If there are any mistakes or omissions, let me know via TG.

Lisander, you still need to give me the A/T figures for your circuit.

Still on for a deadline of January 20th for circuit and reserve team applications.

We currently have 38 drivers for 24 potential seats.
If we have a lot of driver activity this season I may consider having 13 teams rather than 12, meaning 26 potential seats.

There are 11 confirmed teams for 11 spots. The final spot will be given to WGPC Motorworks Eelandii, in a continuation of the tradition of having a WGPC works team competing in the regular season. The team will have no power disadvantage compared to other teams. The drivers for that team will be chosen by the WGPC, with preference being given to users who do not have drivers in other teams.

There are three signups for what will either be backup teams or, if we go to 13 teams, the final team on the grid.

There are 20 circuit signups, with 12 to be chosen for the new season.

BIO: This will be Ethan's third season in the WGPC. In his first season, Ethan was a member of the Carvenlo-Franklin Racing team from Liventia, where he found moderate success. He started off the season well, coming 5th in his first race in Hodori and second race in Aels, and finishing 2nd in the Gran Premio Guayabalense, constantly placing himself as a top-10 racer and quite often pushing for the top 5, but a few technical issues with the car meant that overall, he ended up finishing 10th in the drivers standings.

In his second season, he signed for Wilson where he didn't have quite such a great season. He obtained only 15 points across the whole season, leaving him in a finishing position of 19th within the championship standings.

Ellis is a relatively technical driver, which can sometimes be detrimental to his aggressiveness on the track, but he doesn't sit back in races either. However, he thinks of himself as a reliable driver, and would be a beneficial sign to any team who wishes for him. He is looking to improve on his previous performances and show how capable he can be, if in the right mindset and given a chance.

BIO: Benjamin was always an avid follower of racing, especially the World Grand Prix Championships. He always had a keen eye when it came to competition, and he was picked up for this by a talent scout who saw him at a birthday party at the age of seven. He then took up go-kart racing competitively, where he proceeded to climb up the ranks in the racing pyramid, reaching the top tier as Ethan Ellis entered his first season in the WGPC. Inspired by Ethan, Benjamin went on to win the top tier of Go-Karting in Ethane. Wanting to follow in Ethan's footsteps, he applied to join the WGPC, knowing that it was a long-shot considering his relative inexperience in actual cars, and his relative youth. However, when considering how he has grown, a large company decided to sponsor him in his application, and he was chosen to be the second WGPC applicant for Ethane. He is a very aggressive driver, so in many ways is a different driver to Ethan Ellis, considering his lack in technicalities. However, he does try to replicate Ellis in terms of reliability, and is a great driver for any team to choose, as he will do his best out there.

Sadly, he didn't get to participate in the last season of the WGPC. In practice for Fireline - the team he signed for - he ended up crashing out and entered into an induced coma in hospital, where he lay for 3 months. However, his crash has not dampened his love for motorsports and racing at all, and one of the first things he wanted to do after getting out the coma was to get back into a racing car. He is still recovering from his coma slightly, but he should be fine to participate in this season's WGPC.

Circuit to come later, maybe.

TEAM NAME: Fireline
CAR IMAGE: Image
TEAM LOGO: TBC
RATING: (Acceleration/Cornering) 5/3
BIO: The consortium of businesses which decided to set up Fireline last season have decided that it would be in their interest to try to enter Fireline into this season of the WGPC as well following the sponsorship they received from certain companies. The team's 7th place position was seen as a strong start for the team by the owners, and they hope that they would be able to continue that success this season, if their entrance into the WGPC is approved. The team is on the lookout to sign some strong contenders in this season, as well as getting an Ethanese driver into the team, to put out a strong line-up for the season if the application is successful.

Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.

Per the bylaws of numerical assignment, should Ethan Ellis secure a drive for the WGPC 16 season and thereby assume the #7, Juracai Klianiota would request to be assigned #77 in continuity with the previously issued numbers of the VTM driver pool

I'm going to have to drop out with my driver and team for personal reasons. I could stick around, but I rather give the spot to someone else that isn't going to write subpar RPs/miss a bunch of races.

Fixed. Sorry for the delay.

Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

Name of circuit: Gold Coast international racing venue
City: Gold Coast
Country: Northwest Kalactin
Name of Grand Prix: Northwest Kalactin premier Grand Prix
Track rating: 5/5
Qualifying time: traditional
Lap record: 1:31.13 (set by Nate Jackson in the premier Northwest Kalactin Racing Series)
Length of lap: 4.993 km
Bio: Northwest Kalactin has decided to submit this racing track because it has many unique factors it was built in 2013 and that makes it the second newest track in Northwest Kalactin followed by the north Coffs Grand Prix built in 2015 anyways this track is placed in the largest city as well as the capital, Gold Coast this track has been home th the national championship for the past 2 years it also has hosted the Kalactin junior racing championship every year that has passed after 2014 for ages 16-18 also the track is very balanced with twists and turns along with straight long runs at places balancing the use of speed and car agility nedded to win the race.

at the start of this unique venue there are 2 twists before you go for one of the long runs after that we come up to another turn that often changes the tides of the race This this happens because racers go off the track because they reached high speeds while going on the long run so they don’t have time to turn after this we approach a large series of turns of turns before a straight turn then we come up to some of the 2 tightest turns of the race after that you come to a long straight part of the race before 3 zig zags then you have the home stretch you need to be careful here this is were John Nunez gave up his lead to Nate Jackson in the kalactanian Racing title in 2016 after the final turn it is pretty straight forward from there so yeah please nominate the Gold Coast Grand Prix for the world Grand Prix championship
