Welcome one and all to the 4th International Cup of 7ball, hosted by yours truly, Qasden! Throughout this tournament, boys will become men, men become boys, and kittens become ferocious beasts through the adrenaline inducing sport that is 7ball! Before we continue, let's go over a few quick rules.

1. As noted by the thread's title, this is the IC Thread, which means any OOC matters should be dealt with on the OOC Thread.
2. Please refrain from posting RP/Roster reservations. The only reservations allowed are through I, the host, whenever I post the IC info and match day cutoffs.
3. As a rule in both threads, please keep conversations civil. Meaning no petty arguments over results and the like unless it is accompanied by a technicality error on my part. We don't want the mods to get involved, do we?
4. I shall be invoking the Musterfield Clause, meaning that one cannot withdraw from the tournament without playing games following the draw of groups. If you decide to fully withdraw following that point, do note that all future matches for your team will result in automatic losses.
5. Don't forget to have fun, no matter how you finish in the race.

Failure to comply with rules 1-4 will result in a punitive reduction of RP bonus and, therefore, a less likely chance of winning matches.

Sockless Shalissa
The Ultimate Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe
Preparation Time: Less Than 30 Mins • Cooking Time: 1 to 2 hours • Serves 6-8

Hello lads, lassies and non-binary lovelies, today I'll be sharing my ultimate Spaghetti Bolognese recipe with you all. I have yet another party to go to, my nineteenth this week, and it's Jeffrey's favourite so of course I have to cook it. I have an hour long show to fill so I'm going to go to the market to gather my ingredients and piss about with people I don't know and don't really care for. I hope you're taking notes because the dog turd that you make will be a far cry the masterpiece I make, that's the magic of TV editing! Anyway, I have my hessian bags with me so I'm ready to go.

Ingredients

• 2 tbsp olive oil or sun-dried tomato oil from the jar
• 6 rashers of smoked streaky bacon, chopped
• 2 large onions, chopped
• 3 garlic cloves, crushed
• 1kg/2¼lb lean minced beef
• 2 large glasses of red wine
• 2x400g cans chopped tomatoes
• 1x290g jar antipasti marinated mushrooms, drained
• 2 fresh or dried bay leaves
• 1 tsp dried oregano or a small handful of fresh leaves, chopped
• 1 tsp dried thyme or a small handful of fresh leaves, chopped
• Drizzle balsamic vinegar
• 12-14 sun-dried tomato halves, in oil
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• A good handful of fresh basil leaves, torn into small pieces
• 800g-1kg/1¾-2¼lb dried spaghetti
• Lots of freshly grated parmesan, to serve

1. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan and fry the bacon until golden over a medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, frying until softened. Increase the heat and add the minced beef. Fry it until it has browned, breaking down any chunks of meat with a wooden spoon. Pour in the wine and boil until it has reduced in volume by about a third. Reduce the temperature and stir in the tomatoes, drained mushrooms, bay leaves, oregano, thyme and balsamic vinegar.

2. Either blitz the sun-dried tomatoes in a small blender with a little of the oil to loosen, or just finely chop before adding to the pan. Season well with salt and pepper. Cover with a lid and simmer the Bolognese sauce over a gentle heat for 1-1½ hours until it's rich and thickened, stirring occasionally. At the end of the cooking time, stir in the basil and add any extra seasoning if necessary.

3. Remove from the heat to 'settle' while you cook the spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water (for the time stated on the packet). Drain and divide between warmed plates. Scatter a little parmesan over the spaghetti before adding a good ladleful of the Bolognese sauce, finishing with a scattering of more cheese and a twist of black pepper

You can make a veggie version of this recipe by substituting soya mince or Quorn for the meat, adding it to the sauce halfway through cooking. Or simply add lots of diced vegetables to the onions, such as courgettes, carrots, peppers and aubergines

I'm gonna give this to Jeffrey before I pop open a bottle of bubbly and pretend like I'm having fun. When in reality, I hate all the people at this table and I'm dying inside. The Drawkland 7s are back for the 4th International Cup of 7ball, and for the first time since the inception of the cup, are defending world champions! Finally, they managed to shake the monkey off their backs and get better than 4th place by winning the whole damn tourney.

As always, their skill is world-class, even though they've come back with mostly new staff (but the same set of players, minus a few). They're fully prepared to give a clinic to the nations where 7ball is lesser known, by obviously thrashing them. As the world #1s, world champions, and also the experts in the sport, be prepared to have a tough time against the 7boys.
Their uniforms are basically soccer kits, with the approved helmet and jock strap underneath. The shirts and shorts, instead of having lines as trim, have strings of 7 as trim. The colors are black and red, although the alternate blue and gold may be used. Occasionally they'll wear gridiron helmets because "they look cool".

The Drawkland 7s don't use outside implements regularly, but are known to employ them if they think it'll benefit them well. The Flank and Side 7s are fond of using baseball bats on brief occasion, and the Regular 7 sometimes uses a long tool (best described as "a lacrosse stick and soup ladle's forbidden child) to scoop the ball and get it into the goal.

DESTINY, QASDEN - The Filindostani performer group 7Seven gang, made up of semi-automatic robots, will prove to the multiverse that they have voices too.

Filindostan will be sending their first participant in the 61st WorldVision Song contest, with the hosts to be announced. The Department of Entertainment and Culture has sent paperwork for the 7Seven Gang to create and perform their song live. But for the meantime, they are in Qasden, participating in the Fourth Edition of the International Cup of 7ball.

The plan is to compile videos broadcast by the Filindostani General Media Arts TV (FGMA-TV), holder of the contract for a possible national finals broadcast for the song contest. As this is Filindostan's debut in the WSC, there will be no national finals, but this will be a possible addition in case more Filindostani artists decide to join the contest.

The FGMA-TV is also the official feed of the Filindostani games for the tournament. The team is in second place after defeating the hosts Qasden in Korbov Arena. They will next face unbeaten team Devonta to determine if they will advance further in the tournament.

The music video will be released after their live performance at the WVSC.

As last year, the West-East Timors 7s consist of exactly the same players as last, because they, still, are good.
For the 7-3rd edition of the International Cup of 7ball, West-East Timor 7s, who traditionally play their games on motorcycles, are equiped with the brand new SEVEN S777s motorcycles. The West-East Timor 7s may have made it through the group stage so far, but losing against Mercedini was not what the world's second-ranked 7ball had expected... Nevertheless, they clearly are a top favorite on winning the cup this year, and they will (definitely/probably/maybe/hopefully) live up to these expectations.
