Extra Time with Johnny Stromo

1: Welcome welcome, everybody! It’s 11:00 a.m. and welcome to Extra Time, at NSKB Radio. I’m Johnny Stromo and this program is sponsored by Healt, “your health is our business”, and Torres Wine, the best Bevene wine now available in Navish vineries. Very good morning for all of you amazing people listening to us in this Monday morning following the 28th week of the Superliga. For our debate today we have here with us the NSKB TV commenters Gustav Arntzen and Richard Kampen, and Magne Skora, former manager of 2014’s Harhalsen. Very good morning, folks!

Today we are going to discuss week 28’ scores, and project the final 10 weeks of the league. To begin with we have Høulding, Harhalsen and Aanvobar going to the Champions Cup and Hudenholm, Bersk, and Lhedvin going to the Asuran League. Thoughts on the current table, gentlemen?

Kampen: Johnny, all good so far, with the exception of Aanvobar, the biggest surprise of the league so far. They’ve been playing an extremely high class football, quite unexpected for a team with such little investment, you know? I’m not going to lie; I am impressed with their performance so far. Bersk has been doing a fine job too, considering their critical situation at the beginning of the season. On the other hand, I feel, and I think some of you might agree with me, extremely unpleasant with both Lhedvin and Brestrand, which is not even in the g6.

Arntzen: I do agree with everything that you said. The least you expected from a team that bought Dimitrios and Qashat for tons of Ducats is a place in the top 6. Brestrand to me is the biggest deception of this season.

Johnny: I think we can all agree that they haven't been in a good moment for a while now, am I right?

Arntzen: Not even a while, Johnny, at least 20 years of descending football! If I’m not mistaken, last time Brestrand won a Superliga was in 1997. How long is that for a team in the Navish big 6? Harhalsen recently won one title, Høulding and Lhedvin also did, not as much as they would like, but they have been in the top three for god knows when, and I won’t even mention Bersk and Dynamesk. To be frank with you, Brestrand is losing its room in the big 6, and soon enough, teams like Hudenholm or even Aanvobar will take its place.

Jhonny: Skora, what do you think about Brestrand’s current situation? What is your analysis?

Skora: Well, as mentioned by Arntzen, they did invest good in their attack: Dimitrions and Qashat are superb players, and i think they bring an enormous fire power to them. The thing is, Brestrand’s tactical formation does not work. To begin with, they have a heavy defense, so it’s extremely hard for them to cover the wide gaps on the field, plus Urgeles is not the best ball-playing CB, which makes the transition defense-midfield harder. In addition, going back to the attacking triplet, they are slow; Dimitrios is in an advanced age, and gets slow as the matches go. Truelsen has a terrible problem with injuries, and they have no back up! Brestrand does not have personnel nor funds to support Fuglestad’s innovative game.

Johnny: What would you guys project for Brestrand? Are they still fighting for the title?

Kampen: Definitely not. In fact, they were never fighting for it. In my opinion, they remain in the mid table, sadly. It’s sad to see such a traditional team descending like such.

Skora: It's actually surprising, Kampen, that Fuglestad haven’t lost his job yet. His team is doing terribly in the league, but their elimination in the Cup was even more shameful; tell me when a team like Brestrand loses against Aanvobar by a 6x2, score, in the Monumental Arena! That is unacceptable! I'm not diminishing Aanvobar, far from that, but it’s unacceptable for a team in the Navish big 6 to lose inside their home against a mid-table team that manage to get their things together.

Arntzen: And another important point is their expansive players, right? NavAir won’t be sponsoring them anymore and I doubt some big company will invest in such an unstable team. They will eventually lose money and won't be able to pay the high salaries in their squad.

Kampen: And not to mention their lack of investment in the base, Arntzen. I don’t remember a recent young star from Brestrand. Truelsen is, in fact, the only player in their starting XI that comes from their youth teams. When did he start, again? He is about 30 years, am I right?

Johnny: Yes, he is 27. His first official match for Brestrand was in 2010, against Union.

Kampen: Exactly! Almost 10 years of wasted youth talents? Instead, they keep on signing with extremely expensive players.

Johnny: Well, the discussion is good, but it’s 11:30. We will be back after the commercials!

AC LOTRIČ LIFT LIGA

Image
AC Lotrič celebrates with the trophy after winning their first title in 5 years
AC Lotrič have managed to win their first title in five years after the Midrasian Liga went down to the final matchday. With FC Almiaro and AC tied on both points and goal difference after gameweek 37, there was all to play for going into the final day of the season. AC Lotrič faced off against Saint Sébastien who had very little left to play for this season, languishing down in 16th place. Almiaro meanwhile played Chasteaulou who had a dismal season under Karl Kramer, a lack of summer signings and injuries clearly hampering the team. Nevertheless, the team was eager to prove, with Kramer looking to be losing his job at the end of the season. The AC Lotrič - Saint Sébastien game was goals galore, with AC 2-1 up by half time. Almiaro headed in at half-time 1-0 up. Everything looked to be going AC's way. In the 52nd minute though, Saint Sébastien equalised, and only two minutes later they equalised. AC Lotrič looked to be falling apart. Though substitute Redonda was able to put AC 3-2 up, Saint Sébastien struck back again to make it 3-3. It looked all over. Yet just when all hope was lost, Chasteaulou equalised in their game against Almiaro, Domenico Moscatelli heading home from a corner. With the score like this, both Almiaro and AC Lotrič would head into a play-off to decide the title, a situation that has never happened in the history of the league. But in the 86th minute, Edmund Cartee brought down David Enrique and the referee pointed to the spot. Controversy reigned over the penalty, but it mattered little as Moscatelli slotted home to set the score at 2-1 to Chasteaulou, and hand the title to AC Lotrič. Already now you can hear the AC fans rushing to print Moscatelli's name on their jerseys.

Image
And with that AC Lotrič won their first title in five years breaking the two team dominance of Almiaro and Olympique. The players and fans celebrated long into the night, much to the chagrin of the defeated Almiaro, and AC's bitter city rivals Olympique de Lotrique. AC's dynamic team took the league by storm during an unusually close season. No team has won the league with less than 78 points since 2004. AC's young Midrasian talents in Crespi, Cortes, Xavi Garcia, and Redonda provided a breath of fresh air to the league; whilst the experience of players like Sinchi, Nicolas Olivier, and Just Tasias grounded the team. The free-flowing attacking football took many teams by surprised, with many pundits writing off the squad at the end of the season. Masterful performances by the young talents are sure to earn the gaze of the national team, with potential call-ups for this years' Copa. Speaking after the game, Rendonda stated: "Its amazing, the team all pulled together and it all came together. It was brilliant." On the matter of a potential national team call-up: "It's always nice to get some recognition, we'll have to wait and see, i'm only 20 i've got a long career ahead of me, I don't want to rush into anything, but if the gaffer thinks i'm ready, then i'll do my best to prove him right." Redonda's performance as an impact substitution has turned many eyes across the league, with the striker scoring in all but two games he was subbed on from the bench, for a total of 14 goals. It may be difficult for AC to hold onto the youngster if they are unable to promise him a slot in the starting XI. Almiaro, Benedormo and Internationale are reportedly interested in the striker's service. This is a reality that AC will have to face going into next season. Should they be able to hold onto their young squad they may be able to truly break into the duopoly of Almiaro and Olympique. Securing a place in the Champions cup may make this job just a bit easier though, with many expecting Argois to eclipse the team at the start of the season.

Elsewhere in the league, it was a disappointing season for Almiaro who had to content themselves with winning the Supercopa before the start of the season. The team clearly still hungover from its victory in the Champions cup still needs time to gel together. Crozier replacement Silvestre Satorras looked a little out of place at times but seemed to be picking up form as the season neared its end. The team will do well to looking into getting an understudy for Simone Qualquart however, with the winger nearing 33 he won't be around forever. For Olympique this season was a write-off. Winning the Copa de Mydra is hardly consolation for seeing your cross-city rivals win the league. Olympique's squad has a lot of deadwood in it (Azizi comes to mind), and besides Roberto Trotta, they lack quality depth in a lot of positions. Though they boasted a strong defence, the team clearly needs some work in midfield and some good substitute strikers. Expect some key signings this summer, though don't expect them to make the first team. In terms of the rest of the top 6, Internationale were able to secure 5th on joint points with Argois, Ibbené and Benedormo. Ibbené made a surge up the table after securing the services of striker David Hevre from Olympique in the winter transfer window. The new funds of Onzaian owner Monim Maalouf look certain to only propel the club to future success. The same cannot be said for Chasteaulou however who finished 10th. Injuries and financial woes were the teams downfall, with Karl Kramer officially leaving the club at the end of the season by 'mutual agreement' with the ownership. The future position of Chasteaulou looks uncertain. Their inability to compete financially with the other top 6 may see their spot in the group taken by Argois, or even Benedormo if they can secure their players. Down at the bottom of the league, it was Norte Club who finished last with a surprising 32 points which is an all-time record number of points for a 20th place side, a testament to the competitiveness this year. Joining them was Ardante in 18th place, and surprisingly Union de Mydroll in 19th who managed 8th last season! The sale of key players clearly broke the side, with the money not spent very wisely. Don't expect the side to spend long in Liga 2 though. For Ardante and Norte Club though it may be a longer wait, with financial woes for both teams. Draquenbourg once again managed to cling on in 17th on goal difference. Owner Maurice Adolle praised the great progress of the side and promised significant funds for a few signings during the summer window in the hopes of pushing the club further up the table.

And so that is that, this season has come to a conclusion. Top scorer was Enzo Lazare for Olympique de Lotrique with 24 goals, though expect Nikodem Nesz to give him a good run for his money with a full season to play in 2019/20. And with the season finally over, we can look forward to the many oncoming transfer rumours and of course....the Copa d'Aeia!

Stay tuned to Démarrer for premium coverage of this years' Copa d'Aeia!

Come on Midrasia!

Torpedo stands triumphant

Image
PFK Torpedo have successfully managed to win the national championship of Chokashia after more than a decade. This will be their third league trophy in the history of the club. The final The penultimate matchday was the one which sealed the fate of PFK Torpedo but also its bitter rivals KSS and Dynamo. Torpedo firmly secured its position in the League on matchday 29 when it won the much needed match against Vorsha 04 with a result of 1-2. The fans were very satisfied with this result and with the new coach which was brought to the team last season. Ivan Belomoroz, a veteran football player, proved himself as a very good tactician and a 'general of the football army of Torpedo". Last season Torpedo finished 5th just beind Svislach which was fourth, that was a much better result than the one "Greens" had three seasons ago when the team was struggling behind the 10th.
KSS and Dynamo Vorsha finished second and third, while Vorsha 04 is just behind them on the fourth. The "Railwaymen" and the "Fishers" are just behind on fifth and sixth respectively. With this final result we now know which clubs will represent our country in international competetions. Torpedo and KSS will be heading to face off the best of the best in the Champions Cup, while Dynamo, Vorsha 04 and Zaliznychnyk will be heading to the Asuran League where they will face the best of Asura.

I'm sure Navack informed you of the groups and that they are set, you will find them at the end of this post.
We will see the best of the best from Asura compete against each other for ultimate glory.
This year's competition has some new features - bonus skill points.
What are skill points? Skill points are points that are used for determining the performance of a club and how good it is. The max skill points for this years championship is 1 while the lowest is 0.

Skill points will be assigned before the start of the championship if teams fit the following criteria:
The reigning champion will receive 0,7 skill points
The second place holder at the last tournament will receive 0,6 points
A team from a nation with a full league (having at least an 8-team scorinated league with all team logos) will receive 0,5 points
A team from a nation with a semi-finished league (having at least an 8-team scorinated league) will receive 0,3 points

All other teams which do not fulfill the criteria listed above will not receive points before the start of the championship.

Bonus skill points will be given to every team if they meet the criteria which demands RPing and posting about the event. The quantity of these bonus points will depend on the quality of your post.

Now we come to the fun part!
The first results will be announced on Saturday, 25.5. 14.00 CET.
There are 32 teams divided into 8 groups (4 teams per group) in which they will play against their fellow opponents from their group. This round will have 2 legs which means that teams will face each other 2 times. After a total of 6 matches, two teams holding the first two positions in their group will proceed to the knockout phase which also consists of 2 legged matches face-offs. The aggregate score of these will determine who will move to the next round of the knockout phase. The Final is the only match which will not be played twice, and the only match where there won't be an aggregate score.

MIKAEL PETTERSON CHOSEN AS NEW VELEAZAN MANAGER
Former Bersk manager has ruffled some feathers
Image
Promotional image of Petterson for the Veleazan team
Jaulín- Following the dismissal of Roberto Sarri as the Veleazan manager and his subsequent arrest for his role in the former communist government, there has been a tidal wave of speculation as to who would take the reins of the Veleazan national team, with the suspects ranging from the FC Almiaro's own Gilberto Venâncio to Høulding SK's Patrick Ryland, even as far away as managers from Rennekka and even Savai. However, many pundits have been stunned at the revelation of Petterson, given his controversial final season at Bersk, despite the silverware he brought back to the club during his run.

Having started at the club in the 2013-14 season, Bersk was in poor form and languishing at a poor middle of the table season, however Petterson quickly rocked the club's structure, bringing in new players and getting rid of established names, notably that of Kasper Larsen. While criticised at the time, the club quickly turned around its fortunes, settling for a fifth place finish, compared to there long run in the second half of the table. However, the off season saw even more shake ups at the club and the signing of young talent, such as the Veleazan Sebástian de Villegas and bringing in John Hellerud to take over a goal keeper, both young names who both fans and pundits had little faith in. These voices were quickly silenced in the following season, with Bersk becoming and undisputed machine and powerhouse in Navish football, winning the Superliga with 8 games left in the season, stunning even the most optimistic of Bersk fans. His new team also managed to achieve a continental double in the 2015 season, bringing home both the Navish Cup and the Asuran League, leading to Petterson being dubbed 'The Magnet' for the silverware he managed to bring to the club. Unfortunately, contractual disagreements and the transfer market saw Bersk part with many of its younger players, resulting in a team with an average age of 26, however Petterson remained positive that his team of veterans could still achieve a third consecutive victory. This was not to be, as Bersk finished 3rd in the 2017 season, with the 2018 season having an abysmal start with only 2 wins at week 10, leading to am amicable demission between Petterson and the club. From there, he moved to Brestrand, again working his magic into the side, but parted company with the club halfway through the season. Of his selection to be manager of the club, Petterson said 'It's an honour to be able to manage the Veleazan national team, the country's had a hard time, so I'm hoping to bring back some national faith with a good performance from their team, I've already got some players in mind who I want to start for the team and here's hoping we can start adding stars to the badge, ay'.

Internationally, the reaction to Petterson's selection has been divisive, with many considering the post to be beneath a manager of his prestige and quality, especially considering the fact that the team hasn't made an official appearance in any international competition since the FSR collapsed in on itself, to which Petterson responded to with 'I don't manage football teams for pedigree or bragging rights, I manage clubs because of a love of football, ya know? It would be a poor state of affairs if players only played and managers managed for no reason other than profit and prestige. You wouldn't say that of Pere Clar if he chose to manage a nation that wasn't Midrasia, why would you say that of me?'

The reaction in Veleaz, however, has been significantly more positive. Many locals have praised Petterson for taking the reins of the team, an act not many managers would consider doing, with shop owner Satur Grech saying 'I think it's quite a good thing he's done. Unlike Midrasians or even the Navish, we Veleazans are open to giving second chances. No one's going to blame him if the team does poorly at the Copa this year, considering it's our first appearance, we'll just pat him on the back and hope he'll do better next time.', while Manolo Cardo, Esgueva FC fan, said 'Hes doing his part to bring pride back to the country and to the team. The national mood isn't quite as high as anyone would like, so even getting past the group stage will do it's part to liven things around here, I promise you that'[/i].

Already, Petterson has shown that he's learned from his mistakes, by bringing in the 25 year old Sebástian de Villegas of Bersk, who he first introduced to the club, while also appointing the three time top goal scorer of the Veleazan First Division, Martin Ruíz, to the team, while mixing this legendary players with young, local talent, such as 21 year old Bartolomeo Pinzón of Luta y Libertad. Only time will tell of the team's fortunes in the upcoming Copa d'Aeia, but many are optimistic that Petterson will able to make a Berskesque turn around of fortunes for the team.

Asuran League Round-Up

The Asuran League has started and the Navish participants have left their first impression with the results of their first three games. This year, Navack is represented by Ånvobar, Harhalsen, and Lhedvin (4th, 5th and 6th in the Superliga respectively). Blått completes the team as they were crowned champions of the 2019 Navish cup over Ånvobar. As of performance, Ånvobar was the biggest surprise, as they finished 4th with the same amount of points as Dynamesk, the 3rd placed team. Harhalsen has been lingering around the AL positions of the table ever since 2014, but they surprised this year with their defensive consistency; with only 42 goals against, Harhalsen had the best defence of the season. Lhedvin, however, got unlucky and suffered with constant injuries of some of its most important players like Ken Bruer and Jørgen Hammer. Finally, Blått surprise after passing through Bersk in the semifinal Berke Derby, and defeating Ånvobar 3-1 in the final. To go in depth in the Navish representants so far, we will analyze the performance of each team in the first phase of the group stage.

Following the groups alphabetical order, Harhalse is considered to be in one of the toughest groups so far, disputing 2 spots with both Benedormo (MID) and Beroe Elenite (ROM). The Aramese Torri l-Aħmar is not considered to be a threat, as they are considered the weakest teams among all 32 participants. Insofar, Harhalsen played well in all its games, just letting it slip through their fingers against Benedormo. Their first game was against Torri l-Aħmar home and the victory came by easy; Jordan Roussel scored twice and Guerrino Teti sealed their first victory 3-0. The second game, however, was tougher than expected. Once again, Harhalsen played home against Benedormo, who opened the marker early in the game with a free kick right out of the 18-yard box. Harhalsen quickly came back with goals by Jordan Roussel and Maldinio. However, a fault in the 18-yard box right at the beginning of the second half caused a penalty and a red car against Harhalsen. Benedormo scored the penalty and found a last minute goal of a corner kick to seal their first victory. Lastly, Harhalsen played Beroe in Elenite, Romellea, and scored the goal with Guerrino Teti in their 1-0 away victory. Harhalsen is now second in their group with 6 points, only one behind Benedormo.

Blått is not that far from Harhalsen. The blues are in the Group C, alongside Argois (MID), SK Vorsha 04 (CHK), and UDASC (MAR). The first game was at Blåby Stadion, where the Blues beat the Chokashian 1-0 with a goal by Irakli. For their second game, Blatt had to face Argois in Midrasia. Unlike the expected, Blatt attacked the home side, but they were caught offhanded in a counter-attack which resulted in their 1-0 loss. Back in Berke, the Blues faced the Mardic team of UDASC. An easy victory with the young talent of Vetle Hildrum scoring a hat-trick and giving Blatt a 3-1 victory. Their situation in the group is currently at the 2nd position with 6 points; Argois is the first place with 7 points scored.

Lhedvin, however, is in a much more comfortable situation when compared to the other Navish teams. For instance, the Capital’s team is had as the strongest teams in their group, with some challenge coming from the Romellenic side of Dynamo Asenovatz. Lhedvin played against Zaufina FC in their first home match. With 2 goals by Matthieu Neri, Lhedvin secured their first victory. The second game happened to be even better, with Jørgen Hammer fully recovered after a 7 week treatment of a thigh injury. The second match was against Dynamo Asenovatz, who showed the strength of the Romellenic football in the first 20 minutes of game, where they scored a goal and opened the marker. However, Lhedvin responded fast and went to the half time 1-1 with a goal by Gabriel Ordóñez. In the second half, Lhedvin dominated the actions of the game, reaching a possession of 71%. Jørgen Hammer, Ernest Mossing, Mattieu Neri, and Ordóñez scored the remaining goals, winning 5-1. For their third game, the Capital’s Team went to Liiduria to face Kõrgorus FC. Another relatively easy match saw goals by Jørgen Hammer, Ernest Mossing, Robin Boisselot, and two goals by Mattieu Neri. Currently, Lhedvin is the leader of its group and the best campaign so far in the competition.

Finally, after dominating the top table of the Navish Superliga for some rounds, the Black Roses are back in the scene in Group H of the Asuran League. Funnily enough, Group H is formed by Lhedwinic teams from all the big 4 Lhedwinic nations. In the first round, the Vrnallians traveled to Ånvobar, where the home team easily won 3-0 with goals by Frédéric Varieur and Theodore Dimitrios twice. The Nausikaan Mika Hintikka was the responsible for the second win for Ånvobar against Lofthus Lads (CRY). Finally, Ånvobar, travelled to Vænholm to play against FC Sørlund. They started tough, going to the second half tying 2-2 with two goals by Petros Antonis. However, the Black Roses came back strong for the second half, scoring 3 goals with Mika Hintikka and Jonas Godø twice. As for today, Ånvobar is the leader of its group with 9 points and the third best campaign after Internationale (MID) and Lhedvin.

FOREIGN SPONSORSHIP BAN REPEALED
Veleazan Football Association voted overwhelmingly to repeal the controlversial ban
Image
Paco Guzmán announcing the repeal earlier today
Jaulín- In a year of firsts for Veleaz, starting with first election, first appearance at the Copa, the Asociación Veleaz de Fútbol has decided to follow in this trend setting mood and repeal the Foreign Sponsors Ban, a ban that has been labelled 'Everything wrong with Veleazan football and the only thing holding it back', by a vote of 130-0. The ban was first instituted in 1990 at the behest of Generalissimo Vincente, who branded to presence of foreign company sponsorships in the Divisón Superior as capitalist and perverting the sense of Veleazan communism, despite the fact such sponsorships had been instituted during the existence of the FSR, which Vincente claimed to be a successor to. The immediate effect was a noticeable drop in both profits for the clubs, leading to the infamous folding of Gimnàstic de Tolvas, while the drop in viewership led to the league slowly dropping from its former international prominence. The league was further hampered by Vincente's decision to bar Veleazan teams taking part in international leagues, for reasons of securing the Party's control and preventing Veleazan teams being beaten by non-communist teams.

The ban was voted on annually, and annually was voted to be retained for the next season, however many Veleazan stars that had left both the nation and the League consistently voiced their disapproval of the Ban, most vocally was Francisco 'Paco' Guzmán, all-time top scorer for CA Ayuntamiento, who transferred from the Verdes to AC Lotrič in 1993, began to vehemently denounce the existence of the ban following his exposure to the wealth and popularity afford to Liga Premiére, then known as Liga 1, which quickly earned him the ire of the Communist Party, who barred him from joining the National Team. Guzmán became a controversial figure in the Liga as he consistently denounced the Party publicly, as well as proudly touting his Veleazan heritage. His retirement in 2006 led to numerous rumours of talks with the AVF to allow him to be reinstated into the organisation, but little amounted of it.

With the removal of the Communist Party of Veleaz, along went both the head of the AVF, at the time Enrique Martín, as well as nearly 50 other members who were deemed to be in collusion with the Party. While controversial, it was accepted as necessary, and to refill the 50 missing members, many Veleazan legends and retired footballers, both blacklisted and not, were admitted into the organisation, including Guzmán on account of his outspoken behaviour for change and against the Party. He quickly stood for election and was voted in on 24th May 2019. It was then that he instituted the Repeal Bill against the Foreign Sponsorships, arguing that with foreign companies, which are significantly richer, being able to sponsor Veleazan teams, it both promotes trade with the home nations of the companies, but also highlights Veleazan football, attracting greater numbers of viewers and increased profit, which in turn can be used to improve football facilities and promote the Leagues further.

SHOCK AS HEARTLANDS CUP FACES NEW CHALLENGER
The replacement of Midrasia with Hytekia is sure to shake up the competition
Image
IRB Chairman, Duncan Keene, congratulating Hytekian coach, Imants Loze, on Hytekia's promotion
Cyningburgh- The Heartlands Cup is the most prestigious and renowned rugby union tournament that exists in the world, and to be able to lift the esteemed Howard Lynn trophy is one of the most sought after events that turn the biennial Heartlands Cup into a truly awe inspiring clash between the best of the best rugby teams. But throughout the years, many fans of the tournament have questioned the exclusion of the Hytekian national team, which has consistently outperformed almost every other team in the Heartlands, with the notable exception of Newrey. However, when the first photos began to emerge of star Hytekian players such as Tomass Vacietis, the nation's highest scoring player, frequently flying to and from the International Rugby Board's head office in Cyningburgh, the idea that the Hytekian team might finally be promoted to the Heartlands Cup began to take the rugby world by storm, with bookies making favourable odds in the team's favour.

The question of whether Hytekia was finally to be promoted was answered tonight, at an early evening presentation announcing that Hytekia would be replacing longtime Heartlands team Midrasia. The Midrasian team has been a mainstay of the tournament since the early 50s, though the team's success and popularity have notably faded in time, in comparison to the more successful Vaellenian team. The decision was agreed upon after months of intense negotiation, with many Hytekian players, like the previously mentions Vacietis, acting as ambassadors as to why the team deserved promotion. However, the replacement of the Midrasian team has left questions as to the future of Midrasian rugby, which already stands in the shadow of the much more popular association football and racing, In response, the terms of the Replacement agreement were that the IRB would continue to support Midrasian rugby, in both grants to maintain facilities, but also in the form of placing the Midrasian team to the Outlands Cup, which while less popular than the Heartlands, still enjoys sizeable viewing figures.

Reactions to the agreement have been almost universally supportive, with many fans celebrating the shake up that the Hytekian team would bring to the Heartlands, but also many Newreyan fans in particular relish in the ability to maintain its unbeaten record against the Hytekian team, and to play on a much more frequent basis. Additionally, many consider the move to be long overdue, as the previous expansion of the Heartlands threatened to tear the rugby world apart. With the Hytekian team coming off of a finalist position in the Heartlands Cup in 1996, when it was an invitational team, many expected the team to be promoted, however the Rennekkan nation of Vidoria was instead promoted, in a move to expand the sport's popularity beyond that of the Outlands. Of course, fury from Hytekia was obvious, but in a series of shuttle negotiation, the Federation was calmed with an undisclosed fee and an increased presence on the TV screen. With the rift healed, many rugby fans are hotly anticipating both the upcoming Rugby World Cup, but also this revamped Heartlands Cup.

Liga Premiére
Repain, Ibbené
22:12 kick-off

FIRST HALF
0': After a rain-delayed start in Ibbené, we are finally underway at Repain!
3': Early chance for Almiaro as a speculative shot from Nesz is parried away by Ibbené goalkeeper Ramos for a corner.
4': Corner taken quickly! But Ibbené are alert to the danger and now look to break through Dauda.
6': The counter ultimately turns to nothing as Almiaro win the ball back through Cartee.
9': Almiaro looking to move the ball around through some tiki-taka passing down the left-wing. Ibbené haven't managed to get much of the ball yet.
12': Qualquart executes a marauding run from right, cutting inside and blasting a curling shot toward goal. Ramos manages to get a finger-tip to it, and it will be a corner to Almiaro.
13': The corner is swung into the far-post onto the head of Nesz, but the ball is punched away by Ramos.
14': The ball falls to Satorras who chips it back into the box.
15': GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALL ALMIARO! Nesz drives Satorras pass into the net to send the Vermillionor one-nil up!
16': WAIT WHAT'S THIS? Looks like we're headed for a VAR review of the goal. Seems Nesz may have been offside when Satorras sent the ball back into the Ibbenéan box.
18': VAR REVIEW: NO GOAL Looks as though Nesz was indeed marginally offside when the ball was played in. Wallonde lets out a sigh of relief as we get going again.
20': Ibbené look to be getting into the game now. Some high-pressing from Henri de Lenare sees the team win the ball back in a dangerous area.
22': Shot by Dauda! But it hits the post! A one-two between Dauda and Hevre sees the winger breeze past Loapa to get through on goal, but the finish was just short.
25': Ibbené retaining some serious possession down the left-hand side. A whipped cross by Halvorsen almost reaches Hevre, but the ball is headed away by Loapa. Almiaro look to break.
28': A crunching tackle from Brevig sees Tristan go down clutching his ankle. That looked dangerous.
29': Yellow Card! Christer Brevig (ALM)
30': Sylvain Tristan is still down. The medical team are now on the pitch. It doesn't look like he can continue.
31': Substitution, Ibbené: Sylvain Tristan (CM) off; Salvatore Arnal (CM) on
33': Free-kick hit by Dauda! The Ball glances the bar! So close! Goal-kick to Almiaro.
36': Zenett launches the ball forward to Nesz who breaks the offside trap! But the shot is straight at the keeper. He's got to do better than that!
38': Now what can Tadic do down the right for Ibbené? Some nice interplay with Blade ultimately comes to nothing though as Mauvacys is able to cover and cut-out the advance.
40': A charging run by Paol Fiore is cut-out on the right by Girault. Ibbené now looking to build slowly from the back.
41': Girault launches the ball across the width of the pitch to Halvorsen who now charges down the left.
42': A low cross is fired into the box by Halvorsen.
43': GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! IBBENÉ! Dauda rifles the ball home into the bottom left corner after a spectacular assist from Halvorsen. The youngster gets his second goal for Ibbené, setting the score to 1-0!
45': There will be 4 minutes of added time, 4 minutes.
45+1: Almiaro looking to respond quickly to the goal as Qualquart storms up the pitch with the ball.
45+2': Qualquart fires a cross into the box!
45+3': But it's just too far for Paol Fiore to get any contact. Ibbené now look to retain possession down the right after the throw-in through Girault.
45+4': HALF-TIME Ibbené 1-0 Almiaro.

It seems a game of two sides here at Repain. Whilst Ibbené seem to have the measure of Almiaro down the left-wing, Almiaro seem to be the more dominant down the right. It will be interesting to see if any of the teams make any changes at the break. But this certainly seems to be one of toughest challenges Almiaro have faced so far this season. A win here could see Ibbené move into second place, but can Almiaro keep their unbeaten run going? It's still all to play for!

SECOND HALF
46': We're underway once more here at Repain. The score stands at Ibbené 1-0 Almiaro, thanks to a wonderous strike by Adrian Dauda in the 43rd minute.
48': No changes at the half, but Almiaro look to have started the second-half with some serious attacking intent. The high-press from their midfielders has quickly won the ball back and they're now on the offensive through Brevig.
50': Free-kick to Almiaro Zenett is brought down by Blade, no cards shown however.
52': Some quick build-up from Almiaro down the middle. Satorras fires a splitting pass through the defence for Qualquart to run onto!
53': But the shot is just wide! Goal-kick to Ibbené.
55': A quick step-over from Tadic sees the winger dart past Mauvacys, he then fires the ball into the box.
56': But it's easily dealt with by the 6ft 4 hulking mass that is Edmund Cartee. Almiaro now control the ball in the middle of the park.
60': Almiaro look to be taking control of the game now. Henri de Lenare is beaten to the ball by Satorras who fires a speculative shot, but its just wide. His manager Gilberto Venâncio is furious that he didn't pass the ball to Paol Fiore who was free to his left.
62': Substitution, Almiaro; Yoshigahara Katzumi (RB) off; Zèfir Pujal (LB) on
63': The change by Almiaro to bring of Pujal who can play both full-back positions was an obvious one for Venâncio. Katzumi hasn't had much luck dealing with Dauda. The manager may now be rueing his decision not to sign Desmarais over the summer.
65': Chance for Almiaro! But its a good save from Ramos who catches the shot from Nesz and launches a long throw down the field to Tadic.
68': A bad challenge from Zenett lands him a yellow card and a free-kick in a dangerous position for Ibbené. What can Dauda do with it?
70': The free-kick glides over the box, into the path of Blade! But he miss-hits it and that's easy for Havad to pick up.
72': Substitution, Ibbené; Johan Tadic (RW) off; Thierry Lebas (RW) on
74': Substitution, Almiaro; João Paol Fiore (LW) off; Ilyapa (ST) on
75': Looks like Almiaro are now switching to a 4-4-2 diamond. Let's see what sort of an impact Ilyapa can have from off the bench.
77': Qualquart now playing in the ten dribbles past one man, now two... Can he finish it?
78': NO. Qualquart unselfishly passes to Ilyapa who fluffs his shot. That's what a lack of match-sharpness will do to you. Goal-kick.
80': Its been all Almiaro this half, as once again Qualquart controls the ball in the midfield, looking for overlapping full-backs. He passes to Mauvacys, who drives the ball in!
81': SURELY! Nesz hits it, and Ramos fumbles it! The ball is rolling towards the goal!
82': But the goalkeeper manages to scramble back and catch the ball. Crisis averted!
84': Now what can Ibbené do? Ramos throws it out to Girault who plays it into de Lenare.
85': Breakaway by Dauda! Quick thinking by de Lenare sets the winger free down the left-hand side. Almiaro defenders rushing to get back into position!
86': GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! IBBENÉ! Dauda's pace was enough to set him free down the left, turn and cross the ball into the box into the path of David Hevre who slotted home for 2-0!
87': That goal against the run of play has surely sealed the deal for Ibbené now. There is no way Almiaro can come back from this. Surely they must be coming face to face with their first loss of the season.
88': Double Substitution, Almiaro; Christer Brevig (CM), Nikódem Nesz (ST) off; Enzo Gaudin (CM), Philip Pelzer (ST) on
89': Almiaro throwing everything at it. Nesz looks devastated after being subbed off. He had plenty of chances but was just unable to convert any of them.
90': There will be 3 minutes of added time, 3 minutes.
90+1': Paol Fiore lashes out at Dauda, that looked a bad challenge, but he got away with a yellow card. Dauda looked quite bad, but he may just be embellishing it, he'll be fine.
90+3': FULL-TIME Ibbené 2-0 Almiaro
