Today is October 21st. I just opened signups for IBC 24 earlier today. October is the 10th month. 1+0=1. For obvious reasons, you separate 2 from 4 in IBC 24. 1+2=3. And everyone knows that 21 divided by 3 is 7. Wait. SEVEN. And ... we still have the 4 left over? You know what that means? 7BALL! 4!!

We're back for another edition of The Sevenful Game! That's right, 7ball is here for International Cup number 4. To the right, you can see the logo and official match balls, courtesy of Meski Sports of Red Blackiland.

Now, if you're not familiar with the last 3 editions, you may be asking, "Hey drawk, what is 7ball?" Well, if you don't know, check out this dispatch I wrote, which contains the rules, regulations, scoring, and likely anything you'll need to know about 7ball. If you click on the green message at the top of the dispatch, it'll bring you to a more ... "readable" version of 7ball. Because there's over 240 instances of the number 7 on that dispatch alone.
Also, check out the first, second, and third editions if you wanna see how it kinda goes down. Here's the results of these tournaments:
FIRST OFFICIAL 7BALL TOURNAMENT
  1. Xedanian 7s
  2. Ficiscia 7s
  3. Sulsu's 7s (Sulsuland)
INTERNATIONAL CUP of 7BALL II
  1. Saint Kanye 7s
  2. Kebecois 7s (Silver Rainbow Fumes)
  3. West-East Timor 7s
INTERNATIONAL CUP of 7BALL III
  1. Drawkland 7s
  2. Kebec 7s (Kep)
  3. West-East Timor 7s

Here's to another worthy champion! Now, all you have to do is post in this thread with some sort of message saying you want to play.
Drawkland is in.

There's an example, which also is my official sign-up. Don't worry about coming up with a team name, every team in 7ball is called the "7s." The Examplestan 7s, the Testlandia 7s, the Basic City 7s, John Doe's 7s, for example. Just like last edition, all teams will be referred to as the "<nation> 7s" to avoid confusion. Sorry to those had special nicknames, this makes it easier. Unless your canonical nation name differs from your NS nation name, your nation name will be used.

I hosted the first 2 editions of 7ball, except the playoffs of IC7 II, which were scorinated by Peuples Nordiques des Fleurs (now known as Fleuronordicia, a puppet of Damukuni) due to a vacation I had to take. Then, Fleuronordicia decided to take full-on responsibilities and hosted IC7 III by himself. Thus, following that trend, any nation who wishes to host IC7 IV can bid to host! Standard host bid procedures apply.

You will probably need to be able to scorinate the results correctly, so here's a link to the 7ball scorination file. Just copy/paste the text into Notepad and save as an .xml file and put it into the sports folder for xkoranate, or just download and move the file directly, whatever works for you. I'd encourage you to get a feeling for how the scores work and make sure the file works before bidding. Check out the bid from last edition to get a good idea of what to do. Sure it basically won by default, but that doesn't mean it's not a solid example.

ALSO! Any hosts be sure to use the Official IC7 Rankings. Of course, any participant can check these out to see where you stand.

HOST BIDS: 1/?
7. Qasden
7. Damukuni Sonnel States

With that being said, we hope you sign up! 7ball is truly a sport bourne from NationStates, among the ranks of a cluster of other sports made by NS Sportsers. Enjoy!

Come One! Come All! To Qasden, Bidder for IC7 IV!

~IC Info~

The Principality of Qasden is a sport-loving metropolis located in the southwestern portion of Atlantian Oceania. Under the authorities of Prince Franz-Pierre and PM Rees Häther, who govern from the capital, Turkish Van City (better known as T.V. City), the 'pality maintains relatively well relations with fellow regional nations. The economy is mostly entertainment and tourism-driven, while information and hospitality come close behind.

Citizens of Qasden enjoy frolicking amongst the streets of cities such as T.V. City, Port Harston, Taxson, Qad City, and so on. When it comes to sports, however, things start to get real. Nearly every Qasdonian plays or enthusiastically watches some form of sport, with athletic programs such as Association Football, Basketball, and Tennis leading the nation in popularity. The 'pality is home to many wonderful venues, such as the Royal T.V. Stadium, an all-around mecca for Qad sports, located in the heart of T.V. City. Citizens enjoy these friendly competitions in an almost eternal spring-like weather, with glorious rainy days and gloomy sunny days making up the usual forecasts. Certain places in Qasden, like the mountainous southwestern cities of Fyre and Destiny, experience more of an early spring and autumn pattern, with snow falling at least once every other month. Trains and planes are the best ways to travel between each of the venues, and stray cats on public vehicles are heavily common (so be aware of that, people with cat allergies).

~OOC Info~

Prior to the beginning of summer 2016, the user behind Qasden had strolled around NS for a year and a half, blindly unknown of the world of forums. After finally discovering it, he created the 'pality to avoid prejudice in his main country's no-forum region. After working with scorinators a bit and researching some of NSS's past events, Qasden finally said "screw it" and began his scorinating career just a few weeks after discovering NS Sports.

First there was the Qasden Open, a small and easily forgettable archery tournament that became inspiration to the development of NSAO, or the NationStates Archery Open. After a few association football friendlies here and there, Qasden co-hosted the fifth Maple Leaf Bowl, a Canadian football tournament, alongside Kep (now known as Kebec). Afterwards, not really any other tournaments were hosted in Qasden, other than maybe a few guest clubs for the domestic Prince's Cup soccer tournament. He did, however, scorinate games for Runner Cup 7 (for Falatulu), Northwestern Cup 2 (for Savalen), the Mercedinian Open (for Mercedini), the IAC (for Bonesea), WBC 38 (for Newmanistan), and more, along with the pre-discussed friendlies. This does not even mention the domestic leagues and tournaments of the Qailpyme Sporting Alliance. Back into his groove, Qasden hosted the 26th World Lacrosse Championships, the 23rd International Basketball Championships (with Abaja), NSAO2, and most recently, the 6th AO Hockey Championships.

~Format~

The sum of 4 and 3 is strong within this glorious sport. While traditional formats of previous IC7s were based on the factors of 7, we will offer other formats as well if needed to supply the amount of enlisted signups based on certain numbers just narrowly surpassing the previous 7 mark. Seeing as the current amount of signups (as of this bid being posted) are one away from 7^2, we will start from there:

14- 2 groups of 7 - Top 4 Advance
16- 4 groups of 4 - Double RR; Top 2 Advance
20- 4 groups of 5 - Double RR; Top 2 Advance
21- 3 groups of 7 - Top 2 + 2 best 3rd placers Advance
24- 4 groups of 6 - Top 4 Advance
28- 4 groups of 7 - Top 4 Advance
32- 8 groups of 4 - Double RR; Top 2 Advance
35- 5 groups of 7 - Top 2 + 6 best 3rd placers Advance

Format of knockouts will vary by which of the above formats will be used. If 14, 16, 20, 24, 28, or 32 is utilized, the KOs will be in a simple A1vB2 style. If 21 or 35 is utilized, seedings will be implemented using the below tiebreakers for a 1v8/1v16 style format. All KO formats will involve singe elimination games.

~The Works (Scorination, Tiebreakers, RPB)~

Should our bid be considered worthy by the voters, the 7ball file on xkoranate shall be used. In the event that we will need to utilize tiebreakers (such as the 21 and 35 formats or a tied group), the following will help ease the situation:

    7. Overall Group Finish (Only needed for 21/35 formats)
    7. Record (aka Pts)
    7. 7et difference (aka PD)
    7. 7ets for (aka GF)
    7. Wheeldecide.com (If needed for extreme cases)

Throughout the tournament, RP bonuses will be given out generously to those who RP and post rosters. Alongside this, competitors will also have the chance to earn an additional boost of RPB by completing RP challenges, which will appear sporadically during the group stage and knockouts.

~Q's, Com's, and Con's~

Thank you for attending the hearing of this biddery! If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please feel free to contact me via tg, irc, discord, or just below. Now get out there, you! Spread the voice, Qasden's the right choice!
