THE ASKARI UNION
Preferred Formation:
4-3-1-2
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: Partnerships! The Askari play in tight pairs and emphasise teamwork and physicality!
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Captain: Carmine Quaglia
Nickname: le Porpore

The Askari are optimists, first and foremost. You kind of have to be to be in a tentatively stable communist-constructivist state, where the economy may be held together by prayer and duct tape and pure fortune is keeping anyone sufficiently malignant from the office of Chancellor, but they've already exceeded expectations by winning A Point in their first campaign campaign! They'll rely on that same spirit of unity this time around, where they somehow find themselves second seeds.

The Legaskari is fairly weak and runs under a fittingly socialist, salary-capped and closed system. As it's only recently professionalised, the standard is really bad (raised by the presence of six foreign journeymen in every team), and most of their best players have left. Change has been fairly minimal, as Marchesi attempts to build a young side up into something to be feared.

Supplied by a mostly curious Cloaker, of Nephara. Capitalist scum they might be, but they have far more modern technology.

I Give My Opponent Permission To:

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup.
The Askari have gained in confidence now, and are now able to play to their strengths. While disciplined and well-drilled defensively, they boast a quick, technically capable midfield that likes short, clever passes, and up front boast strikers who are fast and good at finishing. Their goal threats are primarily on the counter-attack or from measured build-up play, but they are one of the smaller sides out there, and that could be rough for them.

Staff
Manager: Dante Marchesi
Asst. Manager: Nerio Marino

Marchesi manages the defensive-minded, very blue-collar Grigio Calcio domestically as his day job, and it's his reputation as an organiser and motivator that got him the job with the Union. He brought his capable assistant, Marino, with him.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Pierluigi Cevenni - Age 31 - Proudcastle (BRE)
12 - GK - Gentian Brillante - Age 27 - AC Sainati
18 - GK - Corrado Marchegiano - Age 27 - SSC Honneur

Cevenni is an excellent reflex stopper more or less baseline capable in all other things. It was enough to leverage his way to a position in the Sunrise Islands, and then to Brenecia! Brillante and Marchegiano are okay, but Cevenni was their standout player last Copa.

Defenders
2 - RB - Cygnet Valeri - Age 22 - Walston Brook Albion (EFL)
3 - LB - Carmine Quaglia (c) - Age 31 - Zakhoro Aces (COS)
4 - CB - Chiarina Leone - Age 32 - Dinamo Sainati
5 - CB - Armand Tamboure - Age 27 - Blashpool City (ETN)
13 - CB - Etienne Kosciel - Age 26 - AC Sainati
16 - LB - Eloisa Primavera - Age 24 - New Llama Capitals (SLL)
17 - RB - Cymbeline Sastra - Age 25 - SSC Honneur
21 - CB - Lucia Farnese - Age 24 - Stade-National

Fortunately for the Union, Quaglia on the flanks is arguably their best player, quick and defensively solid, and happy to run all across the pitch. Cygnet Valeri's more of a risk, but their blinding pace down the right compensates for any other shortcomings, and they're certainly willing enough for the task - more time abroad will improve them. Leone is more of a constructor than a destroyer (like Tambourne), cultured enough to take the ball forward sometimes but still capable of clearing her lines. The backup centre-halves are a good step below the first-choices, and are unlikely to see much time - Primavera, however, is one of their few players genuinely good enough to step up.

Midfielders
6 - HM - Zoe Aucciello - Age 29 - Hussards
8 - RCM - Paulu Ansaldi - Age 30 - Stade-National
10 - LCM - Aurora Solignac - Age 22 - Golden Eagles (AVN)
11 - CM - Gratien Accorsi - Age 26 - Stade-National
14 - AM - Lethe Cirvante - Age 23 - Keenan Athletic (COS)
19 - CM - Gwenael Bisset - Age 25 - Hussards
20 - AM - Susaeta Etxeita - Age 23 - Aznavor OSC
23 - HM - Lux Siravoi - Age 22 - Aznavour OSC

A young and talented midfield which goes for technique over physicality, exemplified by the lithe, clever Bisset and lightning-quick Solignac. Lethe Cirvante is a classy, clever operator with nimble feet and vision that probably outstrips her final ball. In the spine, Lux Siravoi showed up from nowhere to become a great young hope of the side, quick, redoubtable and good with her feet. The quick-footed, daring Accorsi, hard-running Ansaldi and intelligent, lightweight Aucciello have all started regularly in the past for the team, while Etxeita is a thrilling prospect of an ambitious playmaker.

Forwards
7 - ST - Magali Quaranta - Age 30 - Centus Serpents (COS)
9 - ST - Sierra Aurtenetxe - Age 25 - Aznavour OSC
15 - ST - Alyx Sabbadin - Age 28 - Hussards
22 - ST - Farina Martinet - Age 26 - Grigio Calcio

Quaranta is easily the best striker in the side, having crushed the Legaskari before winning a move to Sekundar Ligan side Centus. She's lean, quick and a ruthless finisher - Aurtenetxe is her but subtly worse at everything. In turn, Sabbadin's a slightly worse Aurtenetxe, while Farina Martinet is the fastest of all but the most wayward finisher. For the most part, the forwards are made for counterattacking.

A Police Department in Pasarga
8:00 AM

"OK. Explain me what happened." said the delegate. "And explain me good. No walking around the bush." Outside of the room, a group of twenty-three waited. Inside, aside of the delegate, was a blond, white man. "Well. Allow me to introduce myself, before anything else."

The man smiled, giving his hand to the delegate. "I'm Sunrise, nice to meet you." The lack of a proper reply aside of a very grump look from the delegate made him retract his offer. "Well. We're here to play the Copa Rushmori. I believe one of my friends already solved that up."

"Where are you from?" He rose an eyebrow. "Where else? I'm from Northern Sunrise Islands. We're playing as Northern Sunrise Islands. Did we end up on that dictatorship at South Esportiva on a wrong turn or something?" The delegate smirked. "Well, wise ass. All Sunrises disappeared a while ago. Not to mention whenever I look at their records at this machine, all I get is a 404 page." Sunrise stood up, walking to the computer the delegate used. He gave it a quick slap. The screen now showed a glitched page with weird info on it.

"...Capital City is Nowhere in Particular?" The delegate asked, ignoring the clear breach in their interrogation process. Sunrise nodded, sitting back at his chair. "Want to call the guy that made this? He's The Fox, standing out of the room." The delegate was dumbfounded, but decided to do that as Sunrise simply stood on his chair, looking at the lights.

"Anyone called The Fox?" he asked outside. Among the apparent Sunrisian delegation, a seemingly young kid rose up and followed the delegate in the room. Sunrise got up, letting the kid sit on the chair.

"You're The Fox, responsible for this?" He turned the computer's screen to the kid, who nodded. "I figured that since it didn't exist here anymore, might as well use it to test my skills. Shame about the flag, though." Sunrise smiled. "He's also the one that got us in the tournament, by the way." The Fox nodded. "Shame I didn't tell them we were a technical continuation of Eastern Sunrise. Rule of Face Value, I guess."

"So what are you and why should I not jail all of you?" The delegate was visibly upset. Sunrise sighed. "We just came here to play. It's all a game when you think about it." The three heard knocks on the door. A girl wearing an owl mask opened the door. "Guys!" The Fox rose up. "It's Eevee May. She's sniffing someone again." The two instantly left the room, Sunrise loudly saying "Oh, for Arceus' sake!" as they ran to solve matters.

#01 - GK - "SUNRISE THE CHARACTER"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
The definition of an Iron Butt Monkey, according to his team-mates. Survives injuries like it's nothing. The similarity to the Northern Sunrise character from Radio Esportiva is uncanny.

#02 - RB - "DIA"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Noite's twin sister. Has almost no visible difference from her twin besides wearing a golden mask with the drawing of a sun at her forehead.

#03 - CB - "SUNRISE THE FIGHTER"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Experienced in Martial Arts, the team's bodyguard that also doubles as a defender. The similarity to the Sunrise character from the World Cup games SnoGa released back in the day is uncanny.

#04 - LB - "NOITE"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Dia's twin sister. Has almost no visible difference from her twin besides wearing a silver mask with the drawing of a moon at her forehead.

#05 - DM - "NOAH"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A towering young man with a defect that makes his right arm shine a green light. Very close partners to Neil, is infinitely more serious than his friend.

#06 - DM - "NEIL"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A shorter young man with a defect that makes his left arm shine a blue-ish light. Snarky, usually tags along Noah.

#07 - CM - "SUNRISE THE TRAINER"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A no-nonsense young man, selected by his peers to act as their leader/captain. The similarity to the Sunrise character from Pokécards is uncanny.

#08 - CAM - "OLCADAN"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A thin girl of medium height, her head covered by a scarf and more visibly, an owl's mask. She's also the fastest member of the team.

#09 - SS - "THE BOSS"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
An apparent figure of the past, this woman is often seen walking around with a naginata and clad in purple clothes. Enjoys the good things in life but is prone to blowing up.

#10 - CF - "AWAKENING"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A young man that can apparently float in the middle of the air whenever he wishes. Also of note, he always walks under a cloak while wearing a white mask with black details.

#11 - ST - "THE FOX"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
The shortest player amongst the starters whose voice sounds like of that of a young boy. Wields a mask that resembles a fox's head with tribal drawings, apparently a heirloom of a Kingdom long gone.

#12 - GK - "TRIBUTARY LAW"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Owner of a sweet voice at karaokes, talented at the cha cha... but deadly as a goalkeeper, though no one knows why he focuses on only using his feet. Might own a yellow track suit.

#13 - RB / RM - "NIRVANA"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A thin and somewhat sickly-looking man whose temper clearly shows a lack of interest for anything.

#14 - CB - "NORTH STAR"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Taught in a special style of Martial Arts, considers himself to be just another guy. Arguably could beat Sunrise the Fighter on a brawl.

#15 - CB - "FIREFLY"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A petite girl who often mentions she came from "the First Territory", she's capable of deploying impressive strength with simple moves. Certainly could beat the other two center-backs on a brawl, but she's too polite for that.

#16 - LB / LM - "BECK"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A teenage-looking man whose voice is surprisingly deep.

#17 - DM - "PEARL JAM"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A long-haired man that more often than not seems rather grumpy.

#18 - RM / CM - "WINTERBORN"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Often seen under a large coat, even at hot temperatures, this dark-haired man likes to play to the chant of "Winter is Coming!" for some reason. Not a fan of Neversoft.

#19 - LM / CM - "NEVERSOFT"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
His body battered by so many bumps time after time, it's surreal to see him, what with many parts of his body covered by wraps. Winterborn's fierce rival.

#20 - DM / CM / OM - "EEVEE MAY"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A strong lass, apparently in her early 20s, notable for wearing the mask of an Eevee and the dog collars she uses on her wrists. Not the brightest person around, to be polite.

#21 - OM / CF - "JEANNE"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
Apparently a knight in training, she's often seen in armor, though has no problem with wearing regular clothes like the actual kits they're supposed to play with. Also has a golden gauntlet she consider more important than her own life.

#22 - SS - "DIVINE COMEDY"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A mild mannered man, considered somewhat of a schemist. Really shouldn't be left alone.

#23 - ST - "RAGE"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
The team's second sword-wielder, he's brave but not quite competent. Often gets made fun of by Eevee May due to his shortness and the clearly dyed red hair he has.

TRAINER - "LADY SNOWBLOOD"
Age: ?? - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A strategist of impressive skills, she's also one of the group's benefactors. Nobody on the team knows her background, however.

ASSISTANT - "SUNRISEBALL"
Age: N/A - Hometown: ?? - Team: ??
A robotic sphere who talks in movie quotes. Supposedly was all the rage for a day.

MANAGERIAL STAFF
Manager: Lysander Ying Uing
Lysander Ying Uing continues to be the manager of the national team but it seems unlikely that the team will put much work on to making it to a world cup anytime soon so their only hope seems to be regional glory, and while they have been successful in the Copa Rushmori, it has been quite some time since they were actually in contention.

Assistant Manager: Peter Wiggin
The assistant manager continues to be a strong help with the players and many seem him as a strong possibility for the team moving forward as a replacement for the current management.

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Jacob Jinglheimer-Smitt - Blacklake Blues 3 Caps, 21 Years Old
The new goalkeeper for the national team is a strong young player from Blacklake. The Taeshani defense sits in front of a new man and the hope is strong as he has flashes of Tad Montague at times and has many thinking the Knights could be close to a return to glory.

12 - Jillian Montague - Real Atlantea 2 Caps, 26 Years Old
The daughter of Tad Montague has been a part of the national team for a few years but couldn't win the starting keeping spot. She is a reliable second string keeper and seems likely to get a few starts over the upcoming seasons.

24 – Elvis Pacabel - Atlantea Hurricanes 0 Caps, 20 Years Old
Elvis Pacabel is a strong goalkeeper but was sadly born at the wrong time. His proximity to Jacob has made him but a backup and he could likely start if only he wasn't from Taeshan.

DEFENDERS

2 - LB, Alex Turniquette – X Island Marauders 29 Caps, 1 Goal, 23 Years Old
The fleet footed left back had a strong first campaign as a starter and seems likely to continue to be one of the best parts of a strong defensive system, and his attacking flair seems likely to help out on both sides of the ball.

3 - CB, Jamie Fasnacht - Mt Ceabring Thunder 0 Caps, 0 Goals, 20 Years Old
One of the big movements this year has been a youth movement and that mostly centers around two strong center backs from MT ceabring. Jamie Fasnacht is the cousin of a former national team member in Peter Fasnacht, and if he follows the like of his family he could be a big part of a successful national team.

4 - CB, Edinson Trueblood - Mt Ceabring Thunder 0 Caps, 0 Goals, 20 Years Old
One of the big movements this year has been a youth movement and that mostly centers around two strong center backs from MT ceabring. The other one is Edinson Trueblood a tall hulking center back who will look to be an aerial attacking threat, but also a strong part of the Knights defensive efforts.

5 - RB, Alexander Kaiba - Real Atlantea 44 Caps, 25 Years Old
Alexander Kaiba had a strong first year as a Right Back for the national team and could really see more attacking use in the upcoming season.

14- Kanary Halifax – Bayern Phoenix 8 Cap, 0 Goals, 24 Years Old
The fullback on the bench is Kanary Halifax who can really play on both sides of the back four and has a strong relationship with all the young players on the team.

21 – Johnson Pern - Atlantea Hurricanes 0 Caps, 20 Years Old
Johnson Pern is a strong center back on the bench and a continuation of the youth movement in central defense.

23- Nelson Cartwright - Fadron Flight 0 Caps, 20 Years Old
The fourth new young defender is Nelson Cartwright and he seems likely to be an option as part of a second pairing given certain opposition traits.

MIDFIELDERS

6- CDM, Ensign Petersheim – New Capetown Falcons 56 Caps, 1 Goal, 25 Years old
The defensive mastermind of the Knights is the stronger of the two Petersheims. Ensign has been starting for multiple seasons now and his ability to stop opposing attacks, and feed the ball to the wings has been a strong part of the Knights gameplan for the last few years.

9 - LM, Janson Jewsbury – Bayern-Algaer 37 Caps, 0 Goals, 24 Years OldVice-Captain
The new vice-captain, Jewsbury, seems poised to have a breakout season for the Knigths and hopefully score his first national team goal. With his midfield partner, Elton Petersheim, now starting as well the team seems likely to have some new attacking flair.

7 - RM, Elton Petersheim – Bayern-Algaer 56 Caps, 2 Goals, 25 Years Old
The second twin now has his time to shine as a starter and although he has the same amount of caps as his brother, Elton will definitely have something to prove in the upcoming games about his inability to break into the starting XI.

10- CAM, Enrique Fuegahita – Real Chinchinhua 82 Caps, 6 Goals, 26 Years Old
The mastermind of the Knights attack is Enrique Fuegahita. The Chinchinhua player is continuing to get a lot of assists and his fair share of goals which can only mean good things for the national team.

15 – Everett Champlain – Taeshan City Miners 3 Caps, 25 Years Old
Everett Champlain seems like the odd man out on the bench and doesn't seem likely to get a lot of playtime especially with younger, better, and more useful palyers on the bench.

17- Geoffrey Klingenberg - Knightspurs 3 Caps, 18 Years Old
Two years later Geoffrey Klingenberg is still the youngest Purple Knight, but he continues to be a strong attacking bench option and will likely see a lot of the field in the upcoming tournament.

18 – Randall Abl Bakr – Tintown Terrapins 17 Caps, 1 Goals, 19 Years Old
The other young stud midfielder has been one of the most used subs in the recent years and seems likely to push for a few starts in the upcoming qualifiers. He has one of the highest amounts of Caps under 20 in team history, and could get quite a few more before he is ineligible for the youth teams.

19 – Wilhelm Quinones - Yaton FC 19 Caps, 3Goals, 21 Years Old
The Knights bench has no end of favorable attacking midfield talent and Quinones is no slouch either with an impressive talent on the wings and he is always a danger wiht the ball at his feet.

20 – Tavon Greenshire- New Capetown Falcons - 19 Caps, 22 Years Old
The main central midfielder on the bench is Tavon greenshire who can be used both defensively and beside a partner and can be used to change the speed of the game and to add flair to the attack.

22 – Alejandro Caracas - Atlantea Hurricanes 10 Caps, 23 Years Old
The speediest player on the bench is Alejandro Caracas and he can be used as a real weapon to inject much needed pace in games.

STRIKERS

8 - LS, Miles Snavely – Cenial United (Ceni) 122 Caps, 79 Goals, 29 Years OldCaptain
The captain has recently expressed a desire to move home from Ceni in the upcoming transfer window and many speculate he will use this upcoming tournament to get one last grand paycheck. He has not lost a step, but his journeyman days are over and rumors abound about the bidding war the Premier league will see upon the return to Taeshan.

11 - RS, Aleksandr Denisov - Celtic Rangers F.C. 0 Caps, 23 years Old
The new speedy starter is an unheralded youngster from Celtic Rangers. Coming from years of play in the second division many have seen Denisov as a winger type, but now he seems destined to start alongside Miles Snavely like many speedsters before him.

13 – Falstaff Book - Real Atlantea 0 Caps, 26 Years Old
Falsfaff Book is the target option on the bench.

16 – Johnson Salazar - Taeshan City Miners 0 Caps, 24 Years Old
Speed.

Two Hours Earlier
"City of Diamonds"

A gathering of three walked through the streets of just another regular city. Traffic passed by regularly. It was hard to think their nation was in war again, but they were. Just not near their place. The employment of mercenaries had always made their life surprisingly peaceful. National Forces were a rarity, the infrastructure made for them to use had been pretty much used for the past decades as peacekeeping efforts at their colonial goals. Just recently, they had founded their first colony outside of their realm.

"So, do you think he's finally done it?" said a short, red-haired man, one of the three walking. "I mean... we don't have any urgency but it's really boring."
"Wanna go fight in the war?" retorted a girl, visibly taller and muscle-bound than him. "Beating up Meng soldiers sounds fun."
"Beating up? As if." said the final member of the trio, covered by a white and black mask. "To think the mercenaries are probably wiping out dozens and dozens of beacons of culture."
"I dunno." The shorter one noted, "Remember how Queen Mai added a lot of Hwangju culture once their lands were annexed to our Empire?"
The girl grumbled. "Don't mention it. A family from there moved near my place."
"So?" The shorter one asked, curious. "What of it?"
"They love that green plant from Anbanabira. My room gets all smokey from it. Swear those hussies will get it right in their face one day."
"It's not illegal." The masked one said. "If you got a problem with it, close your window."
"So that means 'Mr. Awakening' favors the idea of me losing some clothes if it's too hot, is that so?" The girl laughed, putting her strong arms around the masked one's head.
"No." Awakening shrugged it off. "Though I'm glad that you're starting to get used to our code-names, 'Eevee May'."
This time, the shorter one grumbled. Eevee May quickly realized what was up.
"Soooooo..." She smirked, poking the shorter one in the cheeks. "'Little Rage', what's up?"
"GRRRRRR!" Rage shook his hands. "IT'S JUST RAGE!"

The trio continued on their way to a common house in the end of the road, Eevee May continuously mocking Rage as Awakening decided to remain quiet until he got to the door.

"OK." Awakening said, signaling for the two to shut up. He knocked on the door twice.
A voice answered from behind it. "What's the password?"
"Diamonds are unbreakable." said the masked one.
The door opened, revealing their club's bodyguard - a strong man who had been granted the codename Sunrise the Fighter. "Sir."
"How's the family?" Eevee May asked, flirtatiously.
"They're fine. Specially Haruhi." He said, the name quickly frowning the girl of the trio. "Come on in."

The house's inside was... well, a mess. The walls were plastered with blueprints, two couches and a couple of chairs stood for any visits but the floor had bolts, gears, all sort of bits and pieces that would go on any machine.
Sunrise the Trainer, who would later clear their case with the delegate and The Fox, that boy of impressive hacking talents were on the room, talking with others.
On the window, stood a gentleman with a glass of cider.
Needless to say, Eevee May bolted to the side of the gentleman, while Rage and Awakening just stared from the back.
"Ah, so you three finally arrived." Sunrise the Trainer said, getting up from his chair. "Guess what?"
"The good doctor finally built our machine?" Awakening asked, crossing his arms.
"About time, if he did." Rage muttered to the masked man by his side.
The gentleman turned to the people at the room, avoiding Eevee May. "To your delight, yes. Daisy is ready."
"...Daisy?" a man with scars all over his body asked, curious. His codename was Neversoft. "I thought the girl K- I mean, Sunrise the Trainer brought last night was the last one."
"Daisy is my nickname for my Dimension Alternating Interface of Space Interference." The scientist said, taking a sip of cider. "Daisy will allow us the chance of making a safe trip through dimensions via the magic of Space Interference. Like a glitch in the machine."
The Fox got up from his seat, nodding. "I used a smaller, weaker version of that to sign us up for the tournament and do some working around of the data of most nations that were used to Northern Sunrise existing. Hopefully, we'll get to play without any inconvenience."
"We'll be traveling inside a van, though the actual Daisy is a small engine inside." He smiled. "Once we get through this dimension's border, we can change the van into whatever. Hell, we'll be whatever we want there, for all it matters."
A petite girl raised her hand, the one codenamed Firefly. "Is it safe?"
"The travel will be safe. My only worries are if some of you will be able to live your lives here afterwards. Dimension traveling isn't your run-of-the-mill trip."
He took another sip of cider. "I would like to thank our benefactor, Lady Snowblood, for her financial aid on this project." He pointed to a pale girl who kept on her hands a robotic sphere painted with what seemed like the old flag of Northern Sunrise Islands. "Had she not helped us, I'm not sure our trip would be happening. As a way to at least pay back for her help, she's going to be our team's trainer on the tournament."
Lady Snowblood put the sphere on the ground before standing up. She coughed.
"I thank Sunrise the Character, for bringing us in. I'd like to remind you that our single rule is to not refer to each other per name. You'll have to use your code-names 24/7. Take note that their world might not be ready for us and as such, I want you to avoid mentioning anything about the Empire."
As they all nodded, she continued.
"Now, with you three finally here, we can now make the trip. So please, let's go to the bottom floor."

All twenty-four were there. Inside the van was a black flag with the words "The Diamond Club" inside.
Lady Snowblood stood in front of the van's door, holding a paper with a bunch of names. "Now, I'll yell everyone's codename one by one and whoever is called should answer and enter the van." She cleaned her throat again before starting. "Sunrise the Character!"
A tanned, blond man struggled from Eevee May's arms, dashing into the van. "Uh... me!"
"Tributary Law!" she yelled as the back-up goalkeeper, dressed in a yellow track suit, joined his fellow goalkeeper in.
"Dia!" was the following name, to which one of the two twin girls answered, walking into the van.
"Nirvana!" came afterwards, as the seemingly depressed right back followed one of the twins with a sigh.
"Sunrise the Fighter!", the bodyguard walked into the van, sitting by the side of Sunrise the Character on the floor of the vehicle, like everyone else that entered.
...
"Jeanne!" yelled Lady Snowblood, but the girl, one of the two still out of the van refused to enter. "Uh... I don't think I can enter." She pointed to the first thing in front of the door: Eevee May's butt.
Lady Snowflake facepalmed. "BEHAVE!" she yelled to the rebellious midfielder, before slapping her behind with a ruler that she picked up somewhere in the good doctor's house. Jeanne finally entered.
"Divine Comedy!" she yelled. The good doctor waved from the driver's seat of the van. It was rare to see him do such a thing, but he seemed somewhat happy, probably interested on the trip.
"LITTLE RAGE!" yelled Eevee May from the inside of the vehicle. Rage nearly bolted in. "I'M KILLING YOU RIGHT NOW!"
Lady Snowblood held Rage back from the collar of his shirt, before making sure the two were as far as possible from each other, yet still inside that somewhat small and clearly packed by now van.
She finally sat by Divine Comedy's side, carrying the sphere they now called Sunriseball.
The Sunrisians were back for an encore.
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!

Nur al Din Lambert has left his Managerial position to take up a position in the Executive Cabinet as Secretary of State for Culture and Sport. His replacement is 36 year old Godefroy Abascal, who recently won the Gold Medal at the Olympics with the U-23 team. The rest of the coaching staff has changed as well, with the former coaches leaving for various clubs around Darmen.

The 23 player squad is the same as that used in the Cup of Harmony. However, several of the older players may be making their last appearances as starters, with younger players, especially those from the U-23 squad, are preparing for call-ups to the expanded roster that will be used during World Cup Qualification. The team expects nothing less than to reach the first round of the knockout stage, but a Quarterfinal appearance is the expectation from the fans.

THE PEOPLE’S FEDERATION OF YUEZHOU - NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

月州人民联邦 - 国家足球队

Nickname: The Red Dragons
Manager: Alex CARTWRIGHT
Style Modifier: +1

Formation: 3-5-2 / 5-3-2

GOALKEEPERS

#01 - WEI Haidong - 29 - Nangang Royals

He’s not very old, but Wei Haidong has already become a club legend for Nangang. Making his first-team debut at the age of eighteen and becoming an established starter by nineteen, Wei has amassed over three hundred appearances for his club. Can he become the same player for the Red Dragons? He certainly has the physical talent needed - his play is marked by fantastic reflexes and athleticism - but although he’s very vocal off the pitch, he’s not exactly a leader on it, and he does make the occasional gaffe on set-pieces.

#12 - WU Zhen - 21 - Yincheng Capitals
#23 - LI Weifeng - 27 - Beian City

Yincheng-based backup Wu Zhen is exactly the kind of modern distributor that Cartwright wants wearing the #01, and he could be very ready very soon - as such, he’s displaced Li Weifeng as the nominal backup keeper - impressive enough on his own, but although the diminutive keeper rarely makes mistakes, he’s not exactly a shot-stopper.

DEFENDERS

#17 - FAN Xiaopeng - 27 - Beian City
#02 - TAN Ming - 28 - Xinhai FC
#03 - HAN Ruoyang [C] - 29 - Beian City
#15 - JIN Guiyu - 25 - SC Jiangdong
#14 - LIN Wangming - 20 - Beiyun Stars

Not the most talented defense you’ll ever see, but they’re organized well, and they do have their bright spots. The biggest bright spot of all would be fearless captain Han Ruoyang in the center of the defense. Ruoyang is not only a fantastic defender, but also quick and an adept playmaker who likes to drift forwards. Still, he’s a great leader of the defense, and helps it stay stable even while going forward. On either side of him are two nondescript but solid center-backs - Tan Ming and Jin Guiyu are both decent in the air and athletic enough to get by, but neither is a huge talent. Talented prospect Lin Wangming - who has become a major threat while on Beiyun - on the right is a wingback who’s very capable of bombing forwards, although he’s weaker on defense than other options, while his partner Fan Xiaopeng is a versatile, athletic attacking option at either wing-back position.

#13 - LIANG Yufeng - 25 - Yincheng Capitals
#16 - DENG Songan - 29 - Beian Athletic
#24 - WANG Wuying - 27 - Beian Athletic
#05 - WU Yong - 32 - Olympic Nangang

A solid assortment of backup options. Wu Yong is still a starting-quality right-back, albeit one with less potential and pace than his usurper Lin Wangming, and the ambidextrous and versatile Liang Yufeng is more defensive-minded but still very solid. Closer to the middle, the versatile Deng is a more physical center-back options who could be used to close out a game, and former starter Wang, despite a poor qualifying campaign, is still a solid backup option at center-back. Somewhat concerningly though, there’s no replacement for captain Han Ruoyang - if he goes down, Yuezhou’s system goes down with him.

MIDFIELDERS

#08 - ZHANG Zhenya - 31 - Nangang Royals
#21 - WEN Xiaoli - 24 - Mükiachou Revolutionaries
#11 - HONG Guilin - 28 - FC Shanbei

Cartwright has raised eyebrows - and potentially done much more in the long run - by centering his midfield around controversial young Wen Xiaoli. A proud member of the Sangau (a questionably-Yue western territory) Nationalist Movement who has been imprisoned several times for his actions as part of the SNM, Wen is nevertheless a brilliant playmaker and tireless presser who has proven himself worth the trust Cartwright has put in him. Flanking him is competent water-carrier Zhang Zhenya and Hong Guilin, a new addition to the team and one of Cartwright’s favorites, is a tireless defensive midfielder who also has an eye for counterattacks - in fact, nobody was surprised that he took over for Tao Long during this tournament.

#06 - ZHAO Lianbang - 34 - Yincheng Capitals
#18 - TAO Long - 35 - Beian Athletic
#21 - GU Yang - 28 - FC Shanbei

Yincheng’s veteran midfielder Zhao Lianbang is a very solid backup who serves the same purpose as Zheng Zhenya, while Gu Yang is a polished, experienced wide midfielder with creativity in spades who - since his injuries - simply doesn’t have the stamina or athleticism to be anything more than an impact sub. Meanwhile, Tao Long of Beian Athletic is, despite his age, an excellent holding midfielder - but also a devoted patriot who has openly opposed Wen’s presence on the team. Their relationship will be one to watch.

STRIKERS

#09 - FU Xi - 25 - Yincheng Capitals
#22 - JIAWEI Sangu - 32 - Mükiazhou Athletic

The opposite of Qiu Hanying's pessimistic one-striker formation, Alex Cartwright’s attack is fluid, dynamic, and athletic. Fu Xi is a false-nine who has played a leading role in Yincheng’s rise to relevance, and is known both for his playmaking abilities and for his finishing skills inside the box. On his right is Jiawei Sangu. One of two Mükiazhou-based players on the team, Jiawei has scored 301 goals over 12 seasons in the league and is a complete striker who will play much further inside than former winger and second-choice Guo.

#07 - GUO Zexi - 26 - Beian City
#19 - XIE Xueyi - 25 - FC Xihaishi
#20 - REN Delan - 29 - Beian Athletic

A decent trio of backups. Guo Zexi, the fastest man on the team, is a very skilled dribbler and passer on either wing who just can’t finish. Xie Xueyi may have questionable decision making at times, but he’s young, talented, and athletic, and will be useful as an impact sub. Meanwhile, the veteran Ren Delan (replacing fan favorite Chen Huikang) can play at any position in the front three, and is fairly good at everything he does - although he’s had a lifelong struggle with penalty kicks, and a more recent one with injuries.

THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF PRIDNESTROVIA
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

It has been at least ten years since Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko was defeated in glorious battle against the forces of the Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft, six years since the greatest field marshal the world has ever seen was undisputably beaten by the forces of a faraway country that was still in the midst of recovering from a devastating religious civil war. Those ten years have seen humiliation upon humiliation bestowed by these meddling foreigners upon the once and only rightful ruler of the United Socialist States, Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko. The nation, and our Great Leader, was forced to accept a humiliating peace with the "Democratic" Republic, which saw our glorious nation become a mere "client state" of these troublesome foreigners. In exchange, Great Leader Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko, would remain in position as rightful ruler of the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia, as befitting his station in life. Yet knowing that he is only ruler by virtue of a foreigner's whim has weighed down hard on the Great Leader Field Marshal. This resulted in the great United Socialist States closing itself off from the rest of the multiverse, so that no foreigner would see the shame that had been wrought upon the Great Leader.

But no longer. Great Leader Field Marshal Stepan Stepanovich Stepanenko has decided that the time for seclusion is over. No longer will Pridnestrovia remain under the shadow of the foreigners that had forced itself upon our great nation. We will show that Pridnestrovia has what it takes to become a real and true member of the multiversal community. But we will not do it through our military force. Instead, we will show that we are the best in the multiverse through sports! Sports, which is just codified barbarism! This will show the multiverse that Pridnestrovia is the best sporting country in the world! We will defeat every other nation that dares come up against us! We were forced into a shameful armistice by the puppet states of the Anglatian imperialists in our mission to bring rightful order from the chaos that had arisen in the Nordskanian nation, but there is no shame in the field of sports! We will show our superiority over everyone else in the Global Cup of Soccer!

(OOC: I love being a dictatorial country's propaganda writer)

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: The Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia
Demonym: Pridnestrovian
Team colors: Green and red
Style modifier: +4 (Quite an attacking side)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Yakov Chernenko (53 y/o, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Marfa Isayevna KIRILENKO 28 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image (Abanhfleft), vice captain
Marfa Kirilenko is one of the just many players on the Pridnestrovian women's football team who were born in Abanhfleft because their parents fled the Motherland during President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanenko's glorious revolution. It took a lot of convincing before Marfa, along with many other promising female Pridnestrovian-descended players in Abanhfleft, agreed to represent the Red Army. But who could blame Marfa for her decision to represent Pridnestrovia, the land that had kicked out her family just because her father spoke out against the President Field Marshal? With great keepers like Vicky Carter, Yannie Redborne, and Yelena Valinovskaya in the Fleftic women's team, it was a no-brainer decision. Decent and traditional keeper with only the occasional acrobatic save in her repertoire of skills. After a few topsy-turvy years in Anglatia, Marfa has moved back to Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies on a free transfer.

RB: Petra Petrovna SHEVCHENKO 25 y/o, Sheriff Tiraspol Women Image
Petra is one of the few players in the current Pridnestrovian women's team to be born and raised in Pridnestrovian, as well as playing for a Pridnestrovian team. It's not hard to see why a lot of Pridnestrovia's players have to come from overseas: women's football doesn't receive as much attention from President Field Marshal Stepanenko as the men's game, and Shevchenko is only in the team because there are no other right backs available that are better than her, which is saying something because Petra has done nothing much for Sheriff Women to distinguish her in this field.

RCB: Aygül KARTAL 25 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Mujeres Image (Oontaz)
Aygül Kartal is one of few Turkish Pridnestrovians who had found fame and success both inside and outside of Pridnestrovia, although it should be said that Gryphons Mujeres barely got out of last season's Oontaznik Women's First Division with both hands on the title, as Ladies of Santos FC were constantly on their tail until the final matchday. Even though she's a defender, Aygül scored six goals, two of against Santos Ladies in both times that they faced each other in the league; the first goal tied the game between Gryphons and Santos, and her second goal gave Nubalochi all three points against their title rivals in the final matchday. Aygül's most probably going to be an impact sub for the World Cup qualifiers.

LCB: Beyza KUNDAKÇI 27 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Mujeres Image (Oontaz)
Beyza Kundakçi is basically the other half of Gryphons Mujeres' defensive unit that won them the Oontaz Women's First Division title last season. Whereas her partner-in-crime Aygül Kartal was the goalscoring half of their defense, Beyza was the solid wall of defense half of the equation. She had 15 clean sheets to her name, which is a very great thing considering that every team in the Women's First Division only has 18 games in the league. Like Aygül, her main job will be as an impact sub, but Beyza's job will be to help close out games, especially against better opposition.

LB: Oksana Yuriyevna ARTYOMOVA 27 y/o, Sheriff Tiraspol Women Image
Another Fleftic-born Pridnestrovian player who decided to represent the Motherland due to both loyalty and the fact that there are much better left-backs representing the blue, orange, and green Fleftics. On her day, Oksana Artyomova is a capable left-back who even has a possible future as a wing-back, but since Pridnestrovian footballing philosophy is that there is no need for a defensive player to join in on the attack if there is no pressing need, Oksana will have to stick to her defensive duties. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't try being a wing-back from time to time, and while this hasn't really harmed the national team yet, ruthless teams could take advantage of this and exploit the space on the left side that Oksana will inevitably leave during her attacking forays.

RDM: Yelena Demyanovna SHOSTAKOVICH 29 y/o, La Gorlions Image (Schottia)
Yelena Shostakovich is listed as a defensive midfielder, but she's more than just that. While she can and does have a great tackle that can break up any and every kind of attack (provided that she can react to it in time), her main job is to receive the ball from the defense and then initiate the Pridnestrovian attack. She's also good for the occasional long shot or free kick when needed, but her main forte is really ball distribution and pitch vision.

LDM: Salome Sabine FALK 26 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image
Now that push has come to shove, Salome Falk will step in to replace her half-German, half-Russian compatriot Bogdana Feltzer as a defensive midfielder now that Bogdana has hung up her international boots, but Salome still has a tendency to throw her whole body behind tackles and other ways of breaking up opposing attacks. She already has a lot of bookings to her name, and we can now only hope that Feltzer has mentored her into a more responsible defensive midfielder, or else at least one yellow card is all but assured once Salome steps onto the pitch.

RW: Greta Nikolayevna HEDERVARY 27 y/o, Sheriff Tiraspol Women Image
Greta Hedervary is an ethnic Hungarian living in Pridnestrovia, which has both its benefits and drawbacks. The Hungarian Pridnestrovians are generally considered as some of Pridnestrovia's best football players, and Greta is the daughter of Miklos Hedervary, one of the greatest Pridnestrovian players to ever grace the pitch. She inherited a lot of the talent and skill that made Miklos Hedervary one of the best and most beloved Pridnestrovian players, but living up to such a great heritage could be something that Greta might find just a bit too hard to do. Greta's skill set includes impressive crossing and striker-like composure and finishing in front of goal, but there's always that sort of hesitancy in her style of play.

CAM: Tanya Ilyinichna POROSHENKO 28 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image
Yet another player born and raised in Abanhfleft who nevertheless decided to go play in Pridnestrovia and represent it in international football because there were simply too many better players in her favored position playing for the Lady Revolutionaries. Tanya Poroshenko may not be as good with distributing the ball or scoring goals as Allison Torres, but that's only because Tanya didn't pursue football until she was in college and decided to take up a varsity sport. Looking at it that way, though, Tanya had much the same start into football as Sonny Torres, except for the fact that Tanya's university never won any trophies while she was playing, and also probably because she was Pridnestrovian. Who says institutional racism is dead?

LW: Bisera Hristova HARALAMPIEVA 28 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image (Abanhfleft)
Bisera Haralampieva is yet another Pridnestrovian player lured back to the Democratic People's Republic by the promise of actually getting to sit on the bench or even sometimes start for the national team, something that the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft wasn't able to offer, but that's mostly because the Fleftics have got the likes of Adelaide Singh and Cecilia Johnson on the left wing for them. Bisera actually once looked like she could compete for a place in the national team alongside Singh and Johnson; this was when she had her breakout season with Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies. When it became clear that she wasn't going to be considered for a spot in the Fleftic national team, though, Bisera accepted a move to Pridnestrovia's Union Rheinburg Women to be able to train more closely with the Pridnestrovian national team. But after getting benched in Rheinburg, Bisera is considering moving clubs yet again, with Anglatia's Hunsen Loggers being her most likely target, probably because it's also her only target. Bisera is yet again on the move, this time back to Rosenpfelblatz City after anti-Pridnestrovian sentiments arose in Anglatia following the Pridnestrovian invasion of Nordskania.

CF: Irina Vladislavovna PAVLYUCHENKO 29 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image (Abanhfleft), captain
Out of the slightly medium-sized shadow of Arkadia Zubarenko comes Irina Pavlyuchenko, yet another daughter of Pridnestrovian exiles come back to represent the Democratic People's Republic. There's nothing much to distinguish Irina from other strikers in the multiverse: she has great left and right feet but has a slight preference for her right foot, and she has good aerial ability. About the only thing that stands out with Irina is that she's a bit of a wind-up merchant. She has a tendency to play mind games with the opposition, and while some of her mind games involve words with the opposing players, most of her trickery has to do with the way she always flits about on the pitch. Irina is quite the witch when she moves around. A scarlet witch, even, given that she's playing for a country full of Reds.

RESERVES
GK: Bogdana Stoyanova MARKOVA 33 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image
Bogdana Markova used to be Pridnestrovia's starting keeper before she lost her place to Marfa Kirilenko after she impressed in her debut season for Abanhfleft's Imperial Markovsky Women, and Kirilenko's twenty clean sheets were more than enough to help the Imperials get promoted to the Fleftic Ladies' Second Division. It's tough to be a backup keeper, especially when the keeper starting ahead of Bogdana is five years younger than her and has much bigger potential than Bogdana has. Yakov Chernenko may be looking to finally drop Bogdana from the team in favor of younger keepers, as his decision to bring on Sibylle Pfenning instead of Bogdana during the Copa Rushmori round of 16 game against Valladares will testify.

GK: Sibylle Charlene PFENNING 24 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image (Abanhfleft)
At just 20 years old, one would think that there would be a great deal more keepers who were better at, well, keeping, than Sibylle Pfenning, but apparently, this German Pridnestrovian girl living in Markovsky is much better than any other keeper playing in Pridnestrovia, aside from Bogdana Markova. But it looks as if even Markova is on her way out of the team, as it was Sibylle whom Yakov Chernenko sent on to replace the injured Marfa Kirilenko during the ill-fated round of 16 match against Valladares in which Pridnestrovia eventually lost 3-2 in extra time.

DEF: Irena "Irenka" SZWEDA 28 y/o, Union Rheinburg Women Image
Irena Szweda, nicknamed Irenka by her friends, is a good enough fullback coming from the bench. Her lack of any decent stamina means that she can't be relied on to last the full ninety minutes of a regular match, and she's definitely out of the question if extra time and penalties apply. However, she can come on in the first minute of extra time and make the difference in the team's defense.

DEF: Violetta Rurikovna UTKINA 27 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image (Abanhfleft)
Violetta Utkina is the eldest daughter of Pridnestrovian goalkeeping legend Rurik Utkin, back when he was just an 18-year-old barely scraping a living as a reserve keeper in Abanhfleft's lower leagues. Violetta is great on her feet and is a good defender, but to her father's chagrin and slight dismay, she couldn't become a decent keeper to save her life. But Violetta's happy enough playing outfield, so that's that.

DEF: Tatiana Igorovna GEVORGIAN 30 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image
Tatiana Gevorgian is one of the few remaining players from the original women's team to keep her spot in the new national team, and for good reason. Not only is she one of the most dependable center backs in Pridnestrovia, she also has a very good partnership with her fellow center back, Yelena Tymoshenko, a partnership which Yakov Chernenko will be more than reluctant to mess with. Tatiana is a solid center back who can break up attacks at will and has the speed and pace to keep up with counterattacks, and her only weakness is an inability to defend aerial threats, but then again, that's what Tymoshenko is for.

DEF: Yelena Artyomovna TYMOSHENKO 32 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image
The other half of both Pridnestrovia and Dinamo Bender Women's effective center back partnership. Yelena Tymoshenko is a big and strong defender with great aerial ability and a neat left foot that looks very much like a forward's scoring foot, which makes a potent threat during set pieces. The only problem with her is that she's slower than a turtle, which allows sides with quick counterattacking tactics to take advantage and capitalize on a reduced back line. Well, that's where Tanya Gevorgian comes in, anyway.

MID: Oleksandra "Lesya" Ruslanovna KEDZIERSKA 33 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image (Abanhfleft)
There's nothing much to describe Oleksandra Kedzierska, "Lesya" to her friends and family, except that she's a decent enough fullback to warrant a spot in the Pridnestrovian women's national team. And that's that for her, apparently. There's nothing much else to distinguish Lesya from any other fullback sitting on the bench of a national football team.

MID: Nadezhda Martinovna PLESETSKAYA 24 y/o, Eielo Sunlight Ladies Image (Abanhfleft)
Nadezhda Plesetskaya is a hard-hitting midfielder with an uncanny ability to somehow end up between the passing lanes of opponents and disrupt intricate passing moves with a move as simple as sticking a foot out. Long balls are just about the only way to get past Nadezhda but at this point, it wouldn't surprise people if Nadezhda were somehow able of leaping very, very high into the air to intercept a long ball. But aside from that there is nothing much else to distinguish Nadezhda from the rest of all the defensive midfielders in the world. Shame, really, because just a little more work on her passing and she could prove to be something even more than what she already is at the moment.

MID: Ursula Brittany ULLMAN 27 y/o, Vorpommern Nyqvist Women Image
Taking Ursula Ullman out on the pitch is a last resort for Yakov Cherhenko. It's not that Ursula is green around the gills when it comes to playing as a central midfielder, but her passing still needs some work. Ursula has great field vision, but whenever she tries to get a pass to a teammate, an opposing player or the referee gets in the way of the pass. If she could just improve her passing, then Ursula could be a great ball distributor like Yelena Shostakovich, but that's still a long way away.

MID: Yelizaveta Fyodorovna ISAYEVA 34 y/o, Hackett Image (Nephara)
Technically, Yelizaveta Isayeva is a midfielder, but more often than not, she's deployed as a winger or even an out-and-out striker. Let it be said that Yelizaveta is more suited as a winger or even a central attacking midfielder rather than as a striker or center forward. Yelizaveta is the kind of player who would rather pass the ball to a teammate even though she has the clearest shot at goal.

FW: Lyudmila Antonovna KARBOVANETS 21 y/o, CSKA Tiraspol Women Image
Lyudmila Karbovanets is rapidly becoming Pridnestrovia's fastest rising star and also the brightest spark in what had been, until very recently, a shit CSKA Women side. Unlike their men's team, CSKA Women have never been able to achieve the same level of success as the original Army Club, and even though the two clubs are now affiliated with each other, only now is CSKA Women beginning to challenge Sheriff Tiraspol Women for the honor of the Pridnestrovian capital's top women's club. Lyudmila got her big break when all four of CSKA Women's first team strikers were injured in various forms and such and Lyudmila was handed a golden opportunity to announce herself to Pridnestrovia. Lyudmila's main traits are her speed and ambidexterity with regards to her shooting feet. Left foot, right foot, it doesn't matter; Lyudmila can and will score with either foot. Sometimes she might even attempt a shot with both feet (if that's even possible) just because she could.

FW: Irina Vladimirovna SEVERTNIK 29 y/o, Ladies of Santos FC Image (Oontaz)
Irina Severtnik is a basic striker: good shooting, balanced left and right feet, some aerial ability, and an oft-noted inability to defend or chase the ball. It's for this reason that she's been put under the wing of Irina Pavlyuchenko, although whether she'll learn the Scarlet Witch's wind-up skills along with a dogged determination to go after the ball remains to be seen.

Pasarga Roster
Nickname: Wanderers
Ranking: 15th
Most Caps: Mór Császár (196)
Most Goals: Tobias Möller (96)

Kits

Home Away Third
Modifier: +1

Manager: Mór Császár, age 41
Assistant: Mezei Orbán, age 40

Goalkeepers
GK: Aswad Munif Shalhoub, age 26, OAS Royal FC Image
GK: Lucas Lemann, age 24, Eletti Valligiani Image
GK Miodrag Novosel, age 29, Galatica

The weakest group of players for the Wanderers and some wonder why Thorsten Gerber of CAP did not get called up after the performance of the defense in the Finals. Shaloub is still the number one but do not be surprised if Lemann is given a start if Shalhoub looks to have been rattled by the experience of the WC Finals.

Defenders
LB: Kristian Friedmann, age 26, IFK Aldenskoett Image
LB: Karlo Jozić, age 26, Coret Rovers Image
CB: Wolfgang Wefel, age 24, Sebio City Image
CB: Þorvaldur Oddsson, age 28, Hellinic Rouge
CB: Ante Ivanec, age 28, RGS Athletic Image
CB: Christopher Fosse, age 26, OAS Royal FC Image
RB: Paul Sommer, age 26, Sardin United
RB: Teha Anić, age 26, Stilinkeep FC (F)

The biggest shock in this group is the exclusion of the captain, perhaps as a sign of things to come under Császár's rule. Never the less, the picks are not changed much despite the poor showing in Cosumar, and this group will have a lot to prove if they are going to stay in the pool for the Qualifiers. The twin towers of Wefel and Oddsson being given a second chance, though Fosse is chomping at the bit to be rotated in as well, while the situation at the right side continiues to be a bit of a conundrum.

Midfielders
RW: Fjóla Sigurjónsdóttir, age 24, Samaj FC Image (F)
RW: Ljubo Mihaljević, age 26, Olympia FC Image
MC: Tar Hunor, age 24, AC Izotz Zubia Image
A/MC: Jörg Feierabend, age 21, CA Paulinthal
MC: Gamal Kadeer Haik, age 24, Stein-los Turkish
MC: Jürgen Eisenhower, age 22, Revolutionaires Image
A/MLR: Toussaint Robitaille, age 21, West Gundar FC Image
LW: Ognjen Jurkovic, age 28, Olympia FC Image

Traditionally it has been upon the strength of a resolute midfield that has seen the Wanderers find their success in the past. It continues to be a sturdy foundation now, for the midfield is littered with talent of all sorts, the most surprising coming in the form of Fjóla starting on the right wing, though her performances in Cosumar definitely warrant the starting position. In the middle the six foot three Hunor is well suited to playing as a destroyer to control the middle of the park. The young Jorg Feierabend has all the talent that has people most excited, though the attacking midfielder will have to play more reserved for his country than he does for his club. Jurkovic finally gets his time to shine, even if he is merely above average, while the young Robitaille will be looking to get his first senior cap during the tournament.

Strikers
ST: Ingþór Auðbjörnsson, age 24, AC Izotz Zubia Image
ST: Ljiljana Stankovic, age 26, Peynol-Lunas (F)
ST: Alexander Jager, age 16, Dwile Warriors Image
ST: Borbás Tihamér, age 26, Cypher Town Image

There is an abundance of great attacking Pasargan talent right now and the choice for the call ups has to be difficult, especially after the failing on the big stage in Cosumar by the high profile players. However if there is one name penned into the lineup for every match it has to be Ingþór Auðbjörnsson, whom has earned the nickname of Thor from his teammates. At six foot three and with a deceptive amount of speed and grace for a man of his size, Thor is an all around striker who can score from nearly any spot in the box and in a variety of fashion. The lack of goals in the Finals sees fringe players Stankovic and Tihamér a chance to prove they belong, all while former CAP Academy product Alexander Jager may get his first senior cap before even some of the best players in Pasarga history.

Formation And Tactics
Image
Mór is not likely to shake up the possession style of play that the Wanderers used, being part of a World Cup winning team that employed that system, though he does not have the same flair for the wing play that Tobias did. This may mean fewer open channels but could relieve some of the stress that was being put on the defense during last cycle.

Captain: Ingþór Auðbjörnsson
Corner Taker: Ognjen Jurkovic
Set Pieces: Jörg Feierabend
Penalties: Ingþór Auðbjörnsson

Copa Rushmori XXVIII

Sargossa - 'The Corsairs'

Head Coach

Rafael Barrios
Tasked with dragging the nation out of the sporting doldrums, a mission he has taken to with aplomb. Lead the fifth seeded Corsairs to the World Cup 78 finals, losing just one game in the process. Performances that saw the nation’s rank rise from 127 to 40. Restoring some regional pride is next on the agenda.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Carlos Ramos
Defensive Coach: Guillermo Lucena
Attacking Coach: Alejandro Tapia
Goalkeeping Coach: Armando Abad
Fitness Coach: Mario Sánchez
Team Doctor: Dr Carla Segura

Talent

GK: 1. Dario Almirón (30) – Ciudad Soluca
A consistent performer whose domestic form for Ciudad has prompting comparisons with former national team great Martín Tejera. There are doubts whether Almirón possesses the distribution skills favoured by the coach but his shot stopping is unsurpassed.
GK: 13. Sergio Vega (24) – Dínamo Maturín
Enjoyed another excellent season in the Dínamo goal as Barrios’ boys finished second. Quick off his line and with superb distribution with both hands and feet. Familiarity may see him just edge out Almirón.
GK: 25. Dani Gómez (27) – El Nacional
After several years starring in the Segunda Liga Gómez fully vindicated El Nacional decision to buy him with a solid season for the Gozan giants.

DR: 2. Marco Gamboa (27) – Dínamo Maturín
Initially deployed as a winger during his early days at San Marquez’s ‘El Academica’ but has gradually been pushed back by coaching staffs throughout his career. Now an effective wingback, but one who has never been able to curb that attacking spirit.
DRC: 5. Álvaro Duarte (30) – Ciudad Soluca
Plucked from the dusty streets of the Rainbow City slum and turned into an excellent football in Ciudad’s Academy . A solid defender with an excellent reading of the game. Equally adept at centreback or fallback.
DC: 6. Sebastían Pérez (28) – El Nacional
A classy, ball-playing centreback in the classical Gozan model. Ayala has both pace and poise, a combination that has seen him become a firm fan favourite at the Independiente.
DL: 3. Germán Montero (22) – Dínamo Maturín
Quick, skilful and possessing a wand of a left foot, the wingback is a key part of Barrios’ plans at the Ciudad Deportiva and is expected to take a similar role with the national side.
DLC: 12. Andrés Fernández (26) – Dínamo Maturín
Spied by Dínamo scouts plying his trade in the third tier. The rough diamond was polished off with two years on loan in the Segunda with Costa San Verdi and slotted effortlessly into the Dínamo back three this term.
DRC: 14. Óscar Riveros (30) – Alianza Jucaro
A right back by trade who often gets shoved into the centre during Alianza coach Landín’s numerous tactical switches. In excellent form in the SuperLiga and with the kind of versatility and experience coaches love.
DL: 19. Álvaro Garrido (25) – Rubio Bayamo
An adventurous fallback with an aptitude for set pieces and a real eye for goal. Famously helped knock Ciudad Soluca out of last season’s Copa Sargossa with a goal scored from inside his own half.
DC: 21: Jorge Bastos (26) – Sporting San Marquez
Standing at 6’ 6” the man they call ‘The Beast’ is potentially the towering heart of the Sporting defence. Lack of mobility can sometimes prove his downfall but Bastos is a suitably huge threat from set pieces.

MC: 4. Eduardo Larrea (31) – Ciudad Soluca
A midfielder with tremendous lung capacity. His box-to-box runs stood out in Dunas Del Sol side punching above their weight and led to a move to the capital.
AMR: 7. Gastón Suárez (30) – El Nacional
A converted fallback who led the assist table for much of last season.
MC: 8. Alejandro Vecino (28) – Dínamo Maturín
A youth team star at Sporting San Marquez, the talented playmaker was surprisingly let go by Sporting two years ago. He was snapped up by Dínamo and has become a key figure in their midfield.
AML: 11. Carlos Álvarez (22) – Porto Alegro Azul
The winger is something of a wizard with the ball at his feet, no player made more dribbles in last season’s SuperLiga. But he lacks the delivery to be considered truly world class.
AMRC: 15. Antonio Amaro (23) – Alianza Jucaro
A star winger in the Segunda for Sportivo Torrienté before turning down offers from Ciudad Soluca, Sporting San Marquez and Dínamo Maturín to join hometown club Alianza. He has recently been deployed more centrally, to excellent effect.
MC: 16. Mario Robles (29) – Daroca Marinos
Midfield playmaker with a prestigious range of passing. Robles stands out in a fairly average Daroca Marinos side that has consistently punched above its weight in recent seasons.
DMC: 18. David Zambrano (25) – Dínamo Maturín
Tireless midfielder battler in the same vein as those previous anchor-men historically produced by our mighty archipelago. Prone to nosebleeds if he crosses the halfway line.
DMC: 22. Alejandro Victorino (25) – Ciudad Soluca
Another of those midfield battlers we seem so keen on developing. But unlike some of his illustrious predecessors Victorino also possesses excellent technical abilities, a wide range of passing and isn’t prone to feeling all feint if he stumbles into the opposition half.
AMLC: 24. Jorge Chanza (28) – Sportivo Soluca
A top assist provider in the domestic league and one dangerous crosser of a football. Sportivo have been fighting of suitors for the midfielder for years.

FC: 9. Rodrigo Marcellán (22) – Dínamo Maturín
Dínamo reportedly paid Atlético Ensenada what still stands as a record fee for a teenager to capture the signature of Marcellán. Good in the air, good on the ground, strong and able to pick a pass. He scores goals too. Key to how Barrios’ side plays.
FC: 10. Miguel Marí (25) – Dínamo Maturín
An out-and-out forward and proven top flight goalscorer at Estrella Torreón before an injury crisis at El Torrigal saw him drop deeper to excellent effect. Now at Dínamo and equally comfortable at leading the line or ‘in the hole’.
FC: 17. Iván Mayoral (26) – Alianza Jucaro
Arguably the strongest header of a football in the entire SuperLiga. At 6’3” Mayoral offers a handy ‘hoof it to the big man’ option.
FRC: 20. José Arroyo (29) – Sporting San Marquez
Big things were expected of a forward who caught the attention with a seventy four goal season for one of Sporting’s many youth teams. Often used as an attacking midfielder at club level.
FL: 23. Fernando Calero (27) – El Nacional
An out-and-out winger who offers pure pace down the flank. Capable of tying opposition defenders up in knots but often lacking composure in the final third.

Style

New coach Rafael Barrios comes in with a pledge to re-introduce the ‘Sargossan Style’, traditionally a counter attacking 5-3-2 system. Although Barrios himself favours a slight variant of that style, nominally described as a 5-4-1 Diamond. Barrios favours a high defensive line with an emphasise on winning the ball and launching quick counter attacks, usually down the flanks. The SuperLiga is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while never encouraged, is also not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

Football History

Football in Ceni has only recently began to take off in popularity. Even though football has been present in Ceni for a good majority of the time that it has been settled, other sports, mainly tennis, badminton, and squash, held precedence in Cenian sporting life. For the most part, society gave football barely a passing glance as Ceni built its dominance in tennis. As the popularity of football grew in the last decade, however, pressure grew for the Cenian government to create a national team and send it to compete with the world's best. First, however, it would play in the 54th Baptism of Fire against other nations new to international football. In what was perhaps an ill omen for the rest of Ceni's international football campaigns, the Sarian, later to reach the final, crushed Ceni. In the group stage, Ceni barely managed one win before qualifying for the playoffs on goal difference, where they defeated Bonny in only their second win of the tournament, winning the opportunity to face eventual champion Buyan in the Round of 16. Although Ceni played valiantly, Buyan won, 1-0, in a not-surprising scoreline.

After its poor showing in the Baptism of Fire, Ceni embarked on its first World Cup qualification campaign. Not many people payed attention, and the team, led by Pablito Numede, managed to scrape up a few points before going home in ignominy. If one could say that Ceni's first qualification campaign was a three-year-old's small beach bucket, Ceni's second campaign barely made a drop in that bucket. The short description: nobody really cared. Sure, maybe some people were disappointed by the team's quite awful performance, but the general populace shrugged. In World Cup 69, Ceni finally started caring about its World Cup qualification prospects. Unsurprisingly, they weren't good. Although Ceni did manage to secure draws against Felix and Chiata, and a win against the then-twenty-ninth-ranked Super-Llamaland, it was not enough to make even a small dent in the large wall separating Ceni from World Cup qualification. In World Cup 70, Ceni had a real chance at qualifying. Despite falling 2-9 down to Audioslavia, Ceni notched a win against the second seed Neu Engollon to get a chance to defeat Electrum in a last-match day decider at home. Apparently the gods of fate were not smiling on the Cenian team, for the team fell by one goal, ending hopes of a playoff spot and World Cup qualification. Ceni's prospects had come so close, yet they were as far away as ever. At the Cup of Harmony, Ceni defeated Neu Engollon again, and shockingly defeated world number 9 and eventual champion Turori, ending a losing slide against the top 10. However, Ceni could not end its losing slide against Electrum, whom they faced in the Round of 16, losing for the third time in a row.

Ceni came back yet again for World Cup 71. It started disappointingly, with a loss to Zenic and a draw to the hitherto-unknown Octinstine courtesy of an Alliance for Cenian Future ploy. After that, Ceni won against second seed Barunia. On paper, the second half of qualification should have been good enough: four wins, one against top seed Blouman Empire, and three draws. Unfortunately, the draws were against Zenic at home and against the minnow Aynard, ranked in the three hundreds, and they sealed Ceni's doom. Soothsayers and gamblers who bet on Ceni's failure were the only ones celebrating. Without the disappointing draws to the bottom of the group, Ceni would have made the playoff spot; with five more points against Zenic, Ceni would have qualified outright. Alas, the gods of fate had conspired against Ceni once again, and Ceni would move to the Cup of Harmony at home. It performed decently. Despite draws to Kazamatsuri and Matthewsiana in the group stage, Ceni managed to advance to the Round of 16, where it defeated Darvale to reach the quarterfinals and Mizuyuki on penalties to reach the semifinals. It lost to Valanora, hardly surprising, and Saintland in the third place match, but Ceni finally had made somewhat of a mark in international football. It felt it was ready to qualify.

However, the dream did not come to fruition. In World Cup 72 qualification, the team lost to Barunia, a team it had beaten in World Cup 71, on the first match day and drew the 279th ranked Welcomzia. It then lost to the successor of Mizuyuki, Kirisaki, and drew with the 100th ranked side Vermark. Ceni's losses and disappointments kept coming, losing to minnows Emperor Pudu and Atrua. While the draws against Aynard and Octinstine were disturbing at best and heartbreaking at worst, Cenian supporters were crushed by their spell of bad luck during World Cup 72. A target for their fury was manager Osman Ibarra, who was sacked by the Cenian Football Federation, and replaced by Kirk Koromin, father of star Kel Koromin and manager of Tir Snake Strike, Ceni's best club. The switch seemed to have improved morale by a bit, as the team got revenge on Welcomzia, Vermark, and Atrua (all by the score of 3-2) and drew Kirisaki. However, it was not enough, as the pesky Emperor Pudu managed to defeat Ceni, and Ceni did not qualify, with a low take of 18 points. Surprisingly, however, Ceni improved one spot in the rankings, to forty-fourth. At this seemingly happy news, however, Cenian officials rued that they could have advanced into the top 40 with a better performance. It came to the Cup of Harmony facing an identity crisis and a crisis of leadership. However, its Cup of Harmony - a let's see our problems run for new coach Kirk Koromin - did not work out so well, with a loss to Barunia in the Group Stage as well as a heartbreaking penalty kick defeat to Chiata in the Round of 16. Ceni came to the World Cup cautiously optimistic and hoped that it would finally qualify on its seventh attempt.

Finally Ceni achieved their goal in World Cup 73 on their seventh attempt. Led by Jaime del Olmo and Kel Koromin, the team once again fell to the Opening Match Curse, suffering a defeat to Matthewsiania away, but rebounded after that, only losing once thereafter. Among notable games were the 6-6 draw with Free Republics and the 2-1 win away against HopNation. The World Cup also marked the debut of manager Kirk Koromin in World Cup qualifiers and the Cenial Halcyon National Stadium, at which the national team has never lost. The team was second in their group and drew Gregoryisgodistan, which they beat on a penalty shootout at home with a maxed-out crowd of cheering fans. Finally Ceni had made it to the World Cup, where they lost to regional rivals Eura and Cosumar before beating (guess who) Free Republics for their first ever World Cup win on their first try. Ceni directly qualified for World Cup 74, winning its group, including two wins over top seed Northern Sunrise Islands. They entered the World Cup hopeful, drawing with Apox before losing to hosts San Jose Guayabal. They were confident against Gregoryisgodistan, with a place in the round of 16 on the line. They knew they could win the match - yet they managed to lose somehow, one to nil, denying them a chance in the second round and disappointing many. In World Cup 75, the qualifiers went through in a breeze, with the team going 13-1-0 in their best qualifying run in their history. In the World Cup Finals, however, they could not break their streak of group stage finishes, drawing with Barunia 0-0 and with Pasarga 2-2 but disappointingly drawing 0-0 with Ficiscia to deny them a spot in the knockout rounds yet again. In World Cup 76, the team was hoping to finally go deep in the World Cup, and they reached their first knockout round in the team's history, after defeating bogeyman Ficiscia 5-2 and World Cup veteran Osarius 3-2. In the octofinals, they defeated #2 seed Valladares 5-2 before proceeding to lose 4-1 to San Jose Guayabal in the quarterfinals. Although it was a disappointing finish, at least the team managed their best World Cup performance ever, and they were hoping to capitalize on that performance in San Jose Guayabal and Quebec. However, they were not able to; although they rampaged through their qualifying group, in their World Cup group stage, they choked to Anglatia and therefore failed to advance. They will therefore be hoping to qualify for only their second World Cup knockout round ever...

However, they did not even qualify for the World Cup itself after squandering a 6-point lead in the first half of qualifiers by drawing with (and losing to) a succession of lower-ranked teams before a draw with Turori basically sealed their fate. They entered the Cup of Harmony knowing they were be the tournament's second seed, and hoping they could win it all to make up for their failure in the World Cup... And they didn't, crashing out to the third pot team of Aggrey-Fynn Land in the Round of 16, promptly firing manager Elidyr Lyndainium and replacing him with 1860 Azoth coach Luke Longstar, fresh off his heels from winning a Terranean League title. Longstar won a series of important friendlies and decided to enter the team's first Copa Rushmori, fielding an experimental lineup to gauge his players' depth. Who knows what will happen after a topsy-turvy cycle?

About Ceni

Ceni is a small island country of around 5500 km2 located in the eastern parts of the Rushmori region of Terranea. Although it has no land borders, the nearest countries are Electrum, from which it is separated in the west by a narrow strait, and the Isles of Avon, a small republic located to the east in the same island chain. With a population of just over 13 million, this makes Ceni one of the densest countries in Rushmore, at around 2360 people per sq km. Ceni is also one of the most urbanized countries in Rushmore, with the three major cities, Cenial, the capital, City Centre, and New Oxford, forming one large urban agglomeration, with the city petering out around the edges of the metropolis. Climate-wise, Ceni has a temperate oceanic climate, with the influence of the ocean helping to moderate both the summers and the winters - temperatures are almost never extreme either way, cold or hot.

Historically, Ceni was first settled by a group of people, ancestors of the Fererldan, who spoke a language, Ancient Cenian, that is almost extinct except for a few speakers (but it survives in many Cenian names, both surnames and given names), which is related to modern day Avaerilonian (the prevailing theory suggests that these people migrated from an area in New Gelderland, across a land bridge to Ceni, and then across to Avaerilon, where they settled later in time). The name Ceni itself comes from a corruption of an Ancient Cenian word for 'White Cliffs', which described the cliffs near the present day Dover. These people stayed in the area around Cenial for a while until a group of settlers from Eura arrived and settled in the southern half of Ceni, displacing some of these populations. A Spanish population from Valladares arrived and set up a colony in the north of Ceni, hoping to set up a port for the growing nation, but when the city of Junin was settled, these settlers were disappointed, nonetheless deciding to stay and send seafood to the Valladar communities as well as lobbying the government to set up a port in the north. These communities formed the backbone of a thriving Hispanic population in Ceni.

In the face of a rising Euran threat, these various colonies - the Fereldic population, the Spanish in the North, and Euran/Cenian mix in the South - decided to unify their solitary island in order to coordinate their defenses and reduce infighting. As the Euran threat died down, the Cenian government retooled its economy to provide services and goods to the growing Euran industrial economy while still remaining a bit on edge. As the economy bloomed, a group of Avaerilonian refugees settled in Ceni after escaping one of that country's long wars, establishing a Cenian tradition. These refugees contributed to Ceni's rising high-tech and service economy as the country moved into the 21st century.

Ceni's government is a parliamentary system with a one-chambered parliament, the Cenian Assembly, which has 225 representatives in it; the Prime Minister is the head of government, while a ceremonial President is the head of state. More locally, Ceni is divided into 14 districts, which serve to administer most of the government's services to the people and giving them local control, with a Chief Minister heading the government in each district; most districts have a District Council of either 7 or 9 councilpersons, headed by the Chief Minister. The Cenian people love their elections, with more than 80% turnout most times. Economically, Ceni has a large financial sector along with large pharmaceutical, high-tech, education, real estate sectors, and renewable energy sector. Ceni has a large GDP due to its proximity to Eura and the Euran economy and also a large GDP per capita, one of the largest in the region. Cenians enjoy a high standard of living as well as a large social welfare net and free education, courtesy of a Scandinavian-style liberal government.

We find our heroes - much of the world's antagonists - in dire straits. Nephara fell from grace to the Cup of Harmony and as Michael Brandon tirelessly drove them on to a seemingly inevitable success... a tired, jaded Nephara got pumped 3-0 in the final to a vibrant Qasden side playing with joy and unshackled from the weight of expectation.

That defeat - the only defeat of Michael Brandon's short managerial career - has fucked everything up. Some of the players have had an irreparable rift with the manager and his hardline approach, and captain Tanith Rainsford has internationally retired. Nephara's at the lowest it's been for a while, but if anyone can save them... surely it's Brandon.

Overall Record
324 wins - 66 draws - 93 losses

Only the second nation in history to achieve the 'Grand Slam' of WCC titles - represented by the three stars on the crest.
Won Esportiva's first World Cup - now hoping to represent Rushmore on the world stage.

First Team and Tactics
Image
As always, the Cormorants play hard, physical and compact football on the defensive and quick, broad and ruthless on the attack, especially loving to absorb pressure and hit on the break. Set pieces are also something of a specialty.

Brandon has built on Fegelein's ideas and changed the team's focus. Nephara is back to pressing high, with a sweeping goalkeeper in Tsattalios, attacking fullbacks, a powerful spine, some very quick and powerful wingers, Gosforth linking midfield to the big, physical and fast striker up front. Brandon is very much in favour of tinkering mid-match, however, and is entirely comfortable in a variety of formations - mostly 4-3-3 and 4-4-2.

Staff
Manager - Michael Brandon - Age 45
Assistant Manager - Tom Riley (EUR) - Age 51

Michael Brandon - a legendary figure for the Cormorants and Directus as a holding midfielder, Nephara's first ever player to be widely regarded as world-class - has taken his incisive knowledge of the sport and razor-sharp intellect into coaching. He's an uncompromising leader who demands absolute loyalty and high performance from his players, and early signs in his first managerial role are promising. Tom Riley, a noteworthy former player as well, has been brought in as his assistant, and is the first foreign management staff in the Cormorants' history.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Apostolos Tsattalios (Image Phalanx AF) - Age 27 - 36 caps, 16 clean sheets
A very modern goalkeeper who sweeps behind the defence and has excellent distribution, Tsattalios has had a bumpy road to success but is still young in goalkeeping terms.

12 - GK - Gideon Fletcher (Image AFC Treason) - Age 31 - 28 caps, 12 clean sheets
An outstanding traditional shot-stopper, representing a steady pair of hands. Most Nepharim believe he should be the regular starter, but Brandon appears to favour Tsattalios.

20 - GK - Perseus Theoklitos (Image Crawford City) - Age 32 - Uncapped
A decent Härlighet Ligan goalkeeper, but nobody is pretending that Theoklitos is here for footballing reasons. The Pravennan's appearance is partially due to Nepharim solidarity, and partially a show of Nepharim dominance, when it comes to their new protectorate.

Defenders
2 - RB - Leona Rafford (Image Crisisbless) - Age 24 - 29 caps, 3 goals
A true larrikin on and off the pitch, with a decidedly combative streak. Lightning-quick running down the right, not letting her diminutive stature stop her.

3 - LB - Sieglinde Lohengrin (Image Crisisbless, vc) - Age 26 - 55 caps, 2 goals
Tall, elegant and almost mournful in bearing, Lohengrin's a composed, complete fullback with a world-class crossing ability. More than does her shift defensively, too.

5 - CB - Dieter Konoval (Image KT Moreazerua) - Age 27 - 54 caps
A bruiser at his core, Konoval's most at home bullying small, weak forwards. Not as tall as some might expect, but a deceptively quick sprinter.

6 - CB - Ryan Theuer (Image Falourr) - Age 27 - Uncapped
An athletic centre-back, strong as oak and deceptively quick. Pretty good at passing, too. Very quiet on and off the pitch, but radiates authority.

18 - RB/CB - Danijel Brymora (Image Brinemouth) - Age 25 - 12 caps
A sturdy, defensive fullback, or a technically proficient centre-half - Brymora's versatile and very intelligent to match his physicality.

19 - LB - Isidra Jeurissen (Image Coret Hawks) - Age 24 - 15 caps
Quick and coltish, half-Apoxian Jeurissen's less violent than her compatriots but more than makes up for it in technique and field vision.

22 - CB - Diedrich Frostmarris (Image Molsbik Arkjet) - Age 29 - 42 caps, 3 goals
A firm hand at the back, Frostmarris is an assured, commanding presence who rarely has to shout to make himself clear. Relatively slow, as in 'usual centre-back'. Has senior caps for Apox.

Midfielders
4 - CM - Servet Misidjan (Image AFC Treason) - Age 23 - 5 caps
A very promising young midfielder, an elegant, austere and hard-running player with wonderful technique and intelligence on the ball. Still, she's not quite there yet, and can fade out of games.

7 - RM - Adnan Szalai (Image Ulsa) - Age 29 - 102 caps, 28 goals
A beast of a winger, with a street-fighter's instinct. Rumoured to be illiterate. That's close enough to the truth, but his mind is razor-sharp, as is his technique, pace and power.

8 - CM - Vedran Tarashaj (Image AFC Treason) - Age 26 - 38 caps, 8 goals
Muscular, quick and fiery to a fault, Tarashaj has a habit of letting his emotions get the best of him. When he's focused, he's a brilliant box-to-box player with a ferocious shot.

11 - LM - Rowena Strongbow (Image Cranequin Wanderers) - Age 21 - 13 caps, 3 goals
A powerful, old-school Nepharim winger who burst onto the scene last season and has impressed everyone in qualifying. Shaping up to be genuinely world-class, but for now her technique's a little unpolished.

13 - RM - Andrea Bereveskos (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 26 - 26 caps, 6 goals
A clever, cunning winger who has a way of arrowing down the flank into the right place at the right time. Entirely two-footed and one of the quickest sprinters in world football.

14 - AM - Konrad Gosforth (Image Mâ Âlâmëómë, c) - Age 27 - 49 caps, 12 goals
A clinical, deft playmaker, Gosforth combines physical power and Nepharim graft with a keen intelligence, an eye for goal and, most importantly of all, a flawless sense of timing. The formation switch basically exists to accommodate him.

15 - AM - Ursula Rowan (Image Cassandra City) - Age 26 - 13 caps, 4 goals
Powerful and direct, Rowan's a versatile enough player to fit deeper but relishes the chance to charge forward and cause trouble. Not a slow-paced playmaker, but works best with the tempo pumped up.

16 - LM - Raquel Naeher (Image Cartagena Desert Foxes) - Age 27 - 35 caps, 3 goals
A short, sturdy and very quick, very conventional winger. She has no X-Factor, offers nothing out of the ordinary, but sometimes you need a player who just gets up the wing really quickly and then hits in extremely dangerous crosses.

21 - CM - Gudrun Crowley (Image Pelethas United) - Age 26 - 5 caps
A versatile and authoritative midfielder, measured on the ball and strong in the arm. Crowley's a commanding presence in the centre of the pitch.

23 - CM - Helmut Chilmark (Image Duke of the North) - Age 27 - 39 caps
A muscular brawler, Chilmark is a pure destroyer whose hulking physique allows him to win the aerial balls every time. Racks up cards and runs himself into the ground for the team.

Forwards
9 - ST - Estrella Hawke (Image Starling) - Age 23 - 35 caps, 19 goals
Statuesque and athletic, Hawke's very strong, very quick and ruthless with the ball at her feet. Her first touch can be her downfall, and she's at her most comfortable charging forward at full pelt.

10 - ST - Nevaeh Cathar (Image Avenida Leal) - Age 23 - 7 caps, 2 goals
Daughter of Rook Cathar, and very much in his image - quick, impulsive, physical, ruthless in front of goal and, after striking out on her own in Farfadillis, increasingly strong as well.

17 - ST - Dragan Stavanger (Image Tannenberg FC) - Age 26 - 47 caps, 19 goals
A huge target man, Stavanger's constantly defending from the front, holding the ball up, offering an aerial threat and just generally in his element doing a thankless job. Then he went to Valladares - and then the floodgate of goals opened.

Order From Chaos, Part One

[LOCATION CLASSIFIED] [LOCATION CLASSIFIED] Airport
[LOCATION CLASSIFIED] [LOCATION CLASSIFIED], [LOCATION CLASSIFIED]
[DATE CLASSIFIED]
, [DATE CLASSIFIED

The Antonov An-124 was one of the largest cargo aircraft ever in the known world, with enough cargo carrying capacity to fly almost an entire platoon of soldiers and their equipment great distances to the battlefields where they were needed, on airfields that had been only barely prepared, sometimes to the point of being just leveled strips of dirt. But for this mission, the Antonov wouldn't be landing at an unprepared dirt strip, and it wasn't carrying almost a whole platoon of soldiers to a raging battlefield, yet it could be said that this An-124 was carrying these men into what was quickly going to become a war zone.

This An-124 numerous military markings all over its fuselage. Prominent on its side was a symbol of a golden hammer and sickle in a red circle flanked by two bars, themselves divided into three bars of red, green, and red. And on the vertical stabilizer itself was a red, green, and red flag with a golden hammer and sickle on the top left corner, the flag of the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia. The Pridnestrovian Armed Forces had been called upon by their nation to deal with the aftermath of dangerous revolution in a stauch ally after said ally had specifically requested the help of the Pridnestrovians to help them deal with the aftermath of the chaos of the rebels' actions. Technically, Pridnestrovia was invading, but as political maneouverings behind the scenes had seemingly secured the promise of a peace treaty between Pridnestrovia, their ally the [ENTITY CODENAME: FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA], and one of the rebels operating in their ally's territory, the people who were inside the An-124 were not particularly concerned with having to fight their way through to their objective upon landing. It was what lay after the signing of the peace treaty which troubled some of the people on board.

"[LOCATION CLASSIFIED] Tower, this is Pridnestrovian Air Force An-124 heavy," the radio officer of the An-124 spoke on the radio. "Requesting permission to land on runway zero-niner-right."

"Uh, yes, Pridnestrovian Air Force, roger that," the controller in the airport tower reported back hesitantly. "You are cleared to land on runway zero-niner-right. You are number one to land. Weather conditions are negligible; there is a one-knot wind from the southeast but other than that, the skies are clear."

"Copy that, tower," the radio officer replied. "We are cleared to land and number one to land. Pridnestrovian Air Force says thank you."

The big and almost ungainly An-124 swooped along the runway of the airport like a massive swan before the wheels touched down at the first eighth of the runway. The pilots then applied the brakes as soon as the whole plane was on the ground and then activated the thrust reversers as well to slow down the ponderous aircraft even more. Once the airplane was fully stopped on the runway, the pilots immediately taxied the An-124 to the tarmac of the tiny airport, which was fortunately just big enough to hold the entirety of the plane. Once the plane was in position, the plane kneeled down and the nose cracked open, revealing a spacious interior in which lay two big black heavily armored limousines as well as two standard cargo trucks with open beds in which sat twenty soldiers to each truck.

The limousines went out of the plane first, followed by the trucks, and then one of the trucks moved to the front of the limousines as part of a standard convoy formation before the entire convoy revved their engines and left the airport tarmac on their way to the city center, leaving behind a bewildered airport staff to attempt to assist the Pridnestrovian Air Force crew on the An-124 to turn the massive aircraft around and prepare it for departure.

The city of [LOCATION CODENAME: TREASON] was a small city with regards to the urban agglomerations in the rest of the territory but it was the capital of the rebel faction which the Pridnestrovians called the [ENTITY CODENAME: REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA]. The REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA was considered as the weakest rebel faction in the territory of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA, the one with the least support from the outsiders who were seeking to destabilize the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA. Pridnestrovia had once attempted to assist the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA at great national risk against the nefarious rebel factions operating without blatant outsider support but the outsiders had proven too strong for both Pridnestrovia and the ESTORVIPANS, leaving both nations with their tails between their legs and the eviction of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA from their homeland and being forced to camp out in Tiraspol as a government-in-exile. Tiraspol was actually home to a number of governments-in-exile, but the government-in-exile of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA was perhaps the most important government-in-exile in Tiraspol in terms of being an ally of Pridnestrovia.

The Pridnestrovian convoy proceeded through the streets of TREASON without much ceremony, as this was supposed to be a clandestine operation, about as clandestine as two armored limousines and two trucks filled to the brim with soldiers could possibly be. The convoy eventually stopped in front of the city hall and the soldiers disembarked from their trucks first, forming a defensive cordon around the front of the city hall. The VIPs inside the limousines then waited for a few soldiers to clear the way between the vehicles and the front doors of the city hall before they finally went out, surrounded by said soldiers, towards the city hall.

The Pridnestrovian soldiers, at least those who had survived the first campaign in the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA, had some bitter memories of the city of TREASON. As its Pridnestrovian codename suggested, TREASON was the site of one of the worst betrayals in the history of the Pridnestrovian Republic. During their campaign to rid the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA of the various lawless rebellious elements infesting the countryside, the Pridnestrovian armed forces happened upon a small regional militia composed of ESTORVIPAN ethnic minorities. Pridnestrovian agreed to let the militia into the fold in exchange for a guarantee that Pridnestrovia and the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA would establish a homeland for said militia's ethnic minorities. Pridnestrovia and the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA thought that they had gained an important and vital ally for the duration of the war, especially seeing as the militia controlled a stretch of territory between Pridnestrovian-occupied territory and the territory of one of the rebel factions with better outsider support, but then those infernal outsiders went to the militia and handed them a (presumably) better offer with regards to their homeland and security and so the militia switched allegiances without so much as blinking. Pridnestrovia had a protocol to deal with the potential for betrayal from the militia but enemy actions close to the militia's self-declared capital had prevented the Pridnestrovian soldiers from carrying out their objective of teaching the traitorous militia a lesson so the militia's leadership survived to reap the benefits of their shift in allegiance from the Pridnestrovians to the outsiders.

And now the very same leaders of the very same militia which sold out to the enemy and had become the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA under their assistance had come back on their hands and knees to Pridnestrovia and the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA begging for peace between the two countries and their little rebel group. Not that they had been under too much pressure from the othere belligerents seeing as the Pridnestrovians and THE FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA had been run out of FEDERATION territory during the last conflict. But now here was the chance for the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA to regain a foothold in their old country and homeland.

For [PERSON CODENAME: FACE], this journey through the halls of the TREASON City Hall were very, very familiar. FACE had been part of the leadership council of the militia which had become the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA when Pridnestrovia offered an alliance and a guaranteed homeland for their ethnic minority, and when the leaders of their militia decided to shift their allegiance to the outsiders, FACE stood firm at the Pridnestrovians' side and convinced a number of people from the militia who were still on the fence as to the whole "Pridnestrovia or the outsiders" issue to side wholly with the Pridnestrovians, who may have been unwanted invaders but whom FACE totally and honestly believed had only the best interests of his people in their hearts. The outsiders, he believed, were only interested in keeping alive their puppet state in the north of the national territory, the [LOCATION CODENAME: ESTORVIPAN COMMUNE], which they had funded to spite the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA, whom the outsiders believe to have supported rebellious elements within the outsiders' borders as well.

Flanking FACE were two faces very familiar to the leadership of the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA: Colonel General Vsevolod Leonidovich Pankavuranov of the Pridnestrovian Army and Vladimir Nikolayevich Ofinovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Pridnestrovia. It was Pankavuranov who had convinced the Pridnestrovian Politburo to agree to an alliance with the militia that became the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA and it was Ofinovic who had crafted the terms of the alliance and shook hands with the very same people who hadn't hesitated to turn their backs on Pridnestrovia and the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA once the outsiders came along with what appeared to be a better deal for the militia. But now, the militia claimed that they were not benefitting at all under the new alliance which was technically binding together all the various rebel factions in the territory of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA and that they now wanted the peace and security that they once had under the rule of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA and the occupation of the Pridnestrovians.

The same faces that had once greeted the Pridnestrovian and FEDERATION delegations the first time that they met the militia were still there to meet them now that new peace terms were on the table. FACE, as the president of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA, sat in the middle of the combined Pridnestrovian and FEDERATION delegation while the REPUBLICAN delegation sat at the other side of the table. By the looks on the REPUBLICAN delegation's faces, FACE knew that he and his side held all the cards. Every advantage was in their hands. The power was in the hands of the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA. It was true what people said after all, that absolute power corrupts absolutely. He would have to be careful with how to wield this power, FACE, or else he would end up being no better than the outsiders who had basically coerced the poor REPUBLICANS to their side.

Nevertheless, that didn't stop him from letting a smile form across his face. "Well, well, well," he said. "So the very same people who betrayed our trust and ran off to the side of the imperialists for empty promises of sovereignty and national identity now crawl back to us, begging on their hands and knees that we will accept the new peace treaty that they now offer us. Well, comrades, I'm very sorry, but what if I am to tell you now that we the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA have decided not to accept your treaty? What if we the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA and the Democratic People's Republic of Pridnestrovia have decided that it would be in our best interests to commence total war upon your, ahem, nation? What then?"

"Let me be the first to admit the many faults and wrong decisions that we have made in our journey from being a mere militia into an actual nation-state, FACE, my old friend," the Prime Minister of the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA said. "We made a mistake in trusting the imperialists with the security, sovereignty, and fate of our nation. They promised equal support for all the members of our alliance but, as it turned out, the only member of the alliance that the imperialists really cared about was the ESTORVIPAN COMMUNE to the north of everything. The outsiders continue to pour resources, aid, and manpower into the north even as it already threatens to fall apart at the seams due to the actions of its own citizens, killing their fellow COMMUNARDS just because they supported the wrong side in this war. The rest of us members in the alliance are superfluous. We are only there for numbers, to show that the outsiders have more allies and friends than Pridnestrovia and the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA. The outsiders could hardly care less about what happens to us in the Republic and the rest of the factions so long as their lapdogs in the north, the faction that started all this trouble in the first place, still continues to have the barest semblance of a functioning government in their ugly city, a government run by thieves, spies, turncoats, and gangsters; all anarchists who just want to watch the world, our world, burn, starting with our own country."

"Those are some very fancy words, Comrade Prime Minister," Colonel General Pankavuranov said once the Prime Minister had finished his speech. "Dare I say, both fancy and flowery. But that is all of no concern to us unless there is actual truth to your words. How are we to be assured that your intentions this time around are clean, and that you will not stab us all in the back once again?"

"All the terms to which we agree on is written in the treaty, comrades," the Minister of Affairs of the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA spoke up. "We agree to surrender all territory we control to the FEDERATION OF ESTORVIPA, and we also agree to be arrested and interned as per the Pridnestrovian government's declaration that we, the leadership of the REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA are criminals and part of the Pridnestrovian and Federation governments' most wanted lists."

"Yes, yes, we've read through the peace treaty that you have presented to us," Foreign Minister Ofinovic said, "and I must say that I am not fully convinced that those are the terms that we really want to hear from you. Now, I am sure that there is still time to amend the terms of the treaty to the, ahem, mutual advantage of both parties...."

Right at that moment, a low rumble reverberated throughout the city hall. Both the Pridnestrovians, Federals, and Republicans looked around searching for the source of the vibrations before Colonel General Pankavuranov turned to one of the soldiers acting as guards to the combined Pridnestrovian and Federation delegation and asked him, "Comrade Captain, go see what is causing all that ruckus."

"As you wish, Comrade General," the captain repeated. "Vyzhinsky, Porsenko, come with me," he ordered two other soldiers at his side. The three soldiers checked that their AK-74 Kalashnikov rifles were loaded and ready for action before they went out of the conference room. The whole delegation waited for five breathless minutes before the three soldiers returned to the room. "Report, Comrade Captain," Pankavuranov commanded.

"Comrade General, it appears as if the natives have found out about their Republic's attempt to settle peace with us," the captain replied. "And I don't think they like it at all."

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

For this upcoming Copa edition, Jayson Dhanda has decided to test a new tactical layout switching from Valladares' usual 3-4-3 formation to a 3-5-2, pulling back one of the usual forwards in order to strenghten the midfield. The strategy of play will largely remain the same: La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of its wingers (who will be Benoît Sykes-Lussac and Ryan Paulsson this time) both in attack and in defense modes, with the defensive midfielders Juan Cáceres and Pablo Otero being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form the usual line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. Playmaker Arley Barrios will be in charge of providing support in offense to both the wingers and the 2 forwards, who are very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

Glen sat staring at the blank new tab on the browser. The eighth one in the bar. Along side it he had one for Facenook, Pixld photo editor, a random number generator, a random name generator and three tabs of NotionStates. 'Of all the hobbies you could have chosen to get into, why this one?' he thought to himself. There were so many other things to be doing other than role-playing a football competition. Instead of writing fictional articles about the football team of the imaginary nation of the Republic of Vitiso, he could be working on the script for the film he was planning to produce in the next semester of college. Instead of trying to draw logos, he could be practising his life drawing. Hell, he could even have been watching the Kiaser Colonies playing in an actual football seeing as the Copa Rushmori was beginning.
Instead he was spending hours sitting in front of a computer, putting a disproportionate amount of effort into something that was, ultimately, unimportant. But then again, it probably was a form of procrastination. A long line of distractions. Before beginning it was easy to convince himself that it would be a one, maybe two hour job to get the whole thing done. The thing he chose to do was his teams logo. It was nothing spectacular either, a football with an elm tree and a ring of stars on it. But there was the challenge of finding a suitable stock photo for each component, no water marks, suitable for filling with colour, the right size, the list or criteria went on. And a few things that a real graphic designer could get around easily, but needed special consideration in the amateur case. Hence it took almost two hours just to do up his teams logo itself.
The team still needed more than a logo, it needed players. Easy, think of a couple of names off the top of your head, done in 5 minutes, tops. So of course, both creativity and a lack thereof managed to strike in tandem to create an obstructive oxymoron. Glen needed names a little more exotic, more Vitisoan, than "John Smith" or "Alex Brown." On the other hand, he couldn't quite put his finger on what that meant. So he chose the aid of a random name generator. This proved equally slow as the task now involved rooting out the good from the bland and the down right ridiculous. What kind of name was 'Alistair Haverfield' or just 'Lou'? After many, many reruns of the program, Glen eventually had a satisfactory roster of 23 by midnight. Thoroughly exhausted by the drawn out efforts of the last four hours, Glen decided to submit his half finished roster for the handful of RP bonus it might get him for the opening group match of the tournament.

WAS THE CENIAN FA RIGHT IN REPLACING MANAGER LYNDAINIUM?
Should the managerial music chairs have continued?
YES: Lyndainium brought the team to its knees. Longstar will turn out to be a better manager
Nobody needs to relive the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Cycle - and, despite the wins in that cycle, we didn't get far. We failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in five cycles, and we got knocked out of the Cup of Harmony by a third pot team - as the #2 ranked team in the tournament, one of the favorites to win the title. Needless to say, Cenians were disappointed - and the Cenian FA responded, rightly, by sacking manager Elidyr Lyndainium and replacing him with new manager Luke Longstar. Longstar has expressed his wishes to shake up the Cenian national team and bring it back into the limelight and World Cup elimination rounds, and I have faith in him - plus, I think that Lyndainium was sending the team on the wrong path, so I think the Cenian FA was totally right in replacing him.

Lyndainium did have a good pedigree, and a good winning record - but it will be the matches that he lost and drew, not the ones he won, that will define his legacy and show why his strategy wasn't a good one for the national team. He was the establishment candidate, and he basically continued the order of things that Elias Carrasco had left him. Even though he included some younger players in the selection pool, they were the same ones that Carrasco had called up, and they didn't seem to make the difference in Lyndainium's game. The same old torpid strategy that Ceni has used in the past couple of World Cups finally showed its defensive inconsistencies, and the attack, unfortunately, failed to make up for those - it was Lyndainium's decision to continue with the same bad strategies of before that sealed Ceni's doom during this last cycle. We needed somebody new to shake up the order, and Lyndainium was not that person.

Ceni's old players, players from the last generation, continued to be the center of Lyndainium's strategy - and those older players proved to be more harm than good to the team. The attacking sides of new teams like Aggrey-Fynn Land were able to take advantage of Ceni's hesitation and indecision, and, unfortunately, reflexes of players like Jacen Xasan, Kel Koromin, and Corran Celgis - supposed to be the center of the team - are no longer what they used to be, in their prime. Our team was older and slower than we realized, and Lyndainium did not make any adjustments - or even notice the problem. Our team made more basic mistakes than before - and a lot of it was the result of Lyndainium's tinkering with the squad, both in terms of players and in terms of their skills. His strategy was not the strategy our team needed.

Luke Longstar, however, has the right idea - and he's going in the right direction. By calling up younger players and players in the prime of their careers for this upcoming Copa Rushmori, he's giving the team new life and new chances to succeed, both up front and in the back. By changing the formation - and hopefully keeping it a relatively simple 3-2-3-2 - he should hopefully give us more defensive stability, and more offensive potential. Andrew Arrowsword, rightly, is the center of the formation, instead of the older Kel Koromin - although he's been a good player for Ceni, his time has come, and it's Andrew's time to lead the team. Falkenrath and Cyn-Penzag, too, have been lighting up the I-League and should be credible additions to a team that should pose a deep threat at this Copa Rushmori. Longstar also has the right approach in training - he's been trying to develop the team as a unit, and change the way the team thinks about the game, most particularly having them focus on the concept of space - denying space in the defense and creating it in the offense.

This is the approach we need - and hopefully, it will be an approach that will work. Longstar's appointment, then, was totally justified - we needed this change. Elidyr Lyndainium, whatever his merits, simply did not work for the national team, and the FA was totally right in replacing him.

NO: A team needs continuity to succeed - we should have given Lyndainium another chance
Unfortunately, the adage that the moments where everything goes right are hardly remembered and the moments where something - one thing - goes wrong are emphasized holds true in football - that is exactly the situation with the Cenian national team and the Cenian FA's recent decision to replace manager Elidyr Lyndainium with Luke Longstar. The FA made a big mistake in sacking Lyndainium, for two major reasons. Firstly, all this blither about Lyndainium being a bad manager is simply overblown - Lyndainium was one of the best managers that Ceni has had, both concerning his pedigree and his performance. Secondly, a team needs continuity with a manager to get used to him (or her) and their style of play - the Cenian national team barely had a full cycle to get used to Lyndainium. This managerial music chairs needs to stop.

Although Lyndainium only played 23 matches with Ceni, the lowest of any Cenian manager, he also had the second-highest win percentage - 15 of his 23 matches were wins, translating to a 65.22% win percentage - second to only Elias Carrasco, who had a 69.23% rate of wins. That's not a very big difference, and had Lyndainium played more matches, he would have likely had a much greater win percentage. Saying that Lyndainium is bad because of the few matches where he was bad is like seeing the forest for the trees - it's ignoring the larger picture and cherry-picking the few specific instances to support the erroneous claim that Lyndainium totally blew Ceni's record. He did not.

As former manager of Myrmidon, where he won two domestic titles and reached the Round of 16 in the Champions' Cup twice, his pedigree as a manager also matches - and even exceeds - that of some of Ceni's former managers. Ceni's first manager, Kormin Tenshar, for instance, was not selected based off a professional club team's record - instead, he had only coached amateur clubs (that didn't stop him from managing almost 100 games, but that's a story for another day). Osman Ibarra seemed to be selected for the main trait of being Guayabalense, a major appeal in a nation without that much of a football program at the time. He's won as many domestic titles as Kirk Koromin - and he's gone further in UICA competition. So there's no reason for saying that Lyndainium was a bad manager - he was one of Ceni's best, when considered from the angles of both background and performance in the job.

But if my reasoning doesn't hold up there, consider this argument: that this managerial music chairs harms the team going forward, and consistency with a manager will always help the team. This consistency allows the team to get used to the manager and their style of play across cycles, but more importantly, it allows the manager to get to know their team, the best players available in the country, and how to fit them together in a coherent lineup. Unfortunately, Elidyr Lyndainium never really got this benefit - and Luke Longstar will have to start all over, from scratch, in doing these duties. It'll negatively impact the team's performance for a while, while this period is happening. Consistency lets everyone - manager and team - grow more comfortable with each other, overall helping the team's performance. (Besides, Longstar has a worse pedigree than Lyndainium - why would he do better?)

Take, for example, the case of Schottic manager Lionel Mah: after a performance in World Cup 76 that left the country's FA wanting to sack him, his job was on the line - but the FA, ultimately, chose to keep his services. That led to a Schottic renaissance in the World Cup - they reached the quarterfinals in World Cup 77, and in World Cup 78, they won third place, as well as winning an Independents' Cup to boot and reaching world #1 in the KPB rankings - only showing that the team just needed to have the same steady hand for a couple of years in order to stay on top of things. Ceni should have done the same with Elidyr Lyndainium, and hopefully, that would have led to success in the next two cycles - something, unfortunately, we'll never know for sure, since the Cenian FA decided to prematurely fire him. That was a poor decision.

Background
Pasarga was formed by the refugees of the fallen Persian empire following the invasion of Huns. They traveled for several months before they came upon a pair of uninhabited islands in the northwest of what they would later found out to be the region of Rushmore. Wishing to cast aside their failures, the citizens abandoned the majority of their Persian culture, including a hard line adaption of European names, though they retained their old religious practice of Zoroastrianism.

Following their settlement, the citizens decided to call themselves Pasargans after a fashion of those that they encountered on their sojourn calling them the Pariis. It was a tribute to what they had endured but also the promise of what could be rebuilt again. Rather than returning to a warlike people, they turned towards a cultural and spiritual way of life, keeping themselves mostly isolated from the outside world, apart from participation in the events like the World Cup.

Even as the years have passed, Pasarga still stays mostly an isolationist and peaceful pair of nations, relying notably upon the regional alliance of Eura and Polar Islandstates. They have turned to trade and sport as a way of measuring success, branching out of their shell if ever so slightly. The rural regions of the nation still strongly are mistrustful of foreigners and believe that little good can come them, with cities a necessary evil to conduct business.

Map of Pasarga

Weather
Pasarga enjoys a relatively mild and jungle-esque climate throughout the majority of the islands. Notable exceptions are Troubalose and Lunas which both are a few degrees cooler on average than the rest of the nation due to the northern peninsula positions against the cold waters of the Alban Strait. During summer, the majority of the nation averages a temperature of 25 degrees Celcius or 77 degrees Farenheit, though with humidity averaging around sixty to eighty percent depending upon how close to the mountains and coast you are.

Tansportation
While cars are not banned, it is preferred that the citizenry use the various forms of mass transit provided by the government to do their inner city travel. Light rail (including trolleys/cable cars), subways, as well as a bus system provide routes and stops to get to most locations within any of the major cities. Torgos, Targas, Paulinthal, Stein-los, Lunas, and Stilinkeep are all home to international airports for those wishing to fly into the country while most major cities have a smaller airport for domestic travel within the dual islands. Torgos, Lunas, and Pualinthal also are the three major ports of Pasarga and are well adjusted for any influx of passengers that route.

Stade de Torgos (Torgos) - 90,000
Image

The crown jewel of Pasargan footballing stadium, it is both the national stadium and the stadium of the club side Galatica. It was built to be a monument to the prowess that the Pasargan people can achieve whenever they put their minds to it and show the rest of the footballing community that they belong. Located in the heart of the capital, it is easy to reach from anywhere within the city and the noise created inside the stadium has been known to shake surrounding buildings whenever the Wanderers are playing.

Telathron (Targas) 72,000
Image

One of the two stadiums being used that has retractable roofs, Telathron is located in the former footballing capital of the nation. Telathron was built as a supposed rival to Stade de Torgos to compete as the national stadium, but the arena feel to the stadium made it lose out. Despite that, it is still a modern stadium that offers the capability to keep the temperatures during the games at a comfortable seventy-five degrees whenever the roof is closed.

Group B
Kilmonarch (Stein-los) - 72,000
Image

Stein-los welcomes any and all travelers to its borders with open arms. Long since believed to be the footballing capital of the nation, usurping the title from both Torgos and Targas, the chance to host the World Cup has the Stein-losians ecstatic. Kilmonarch, the best of which Stein-los has to offer, is a stadium built just a short twenty or so years before with all the latest amenities meant to attract UICA final bids that never really formulated. All the same, this football crazy city is ready to put on a show for all those who are sent to play matches in their jewel.

Stadium of the Moon (Lunas) - 84,000
Image

Lunas is the de facto capital on Peynol, the largest city on the second island, as well as the one with the most wealth. It suffers from dreadfully cool temperatures compared to the rest of the nation due to its location out on the penisula. This has hardened the citizens who live in Lunas, who call themselves the "Kings of the Strait", with the Alban Strait to their north. There is also a great devotion to the moon in Lunas, as the largest of the stadium suggests, with crescents found in various art forms across the city. There is a very spiritual feel in Lunas and football itself is something of a ritual, with the walk from the "Stalking Dragon", the largest pub, to the stadium every weekend there is a match. Visitors are encouraged to partake in these rituals or at least be respectful of them.

Group C
Stilinkeep Stadium (Stilinkeep) 64,000
Image

The second of the retractable roof stadiums, it offers the same services that Telathron does but in the comforts of Peynol's most diverse city. Filled with immigrants from all over the known world, Stilinkeep is a diverse and culturally rich city. Museums and art galleries dot its downtown sector as well as a rustic feel to the city with many of the original buildings built of brick still standing despite more modern facilities and sectors popping up around the city. It is truly a melting pot of different ideas and cultures that have found a balance between the old and the new, much the same as their stadium shows.

Stadium of the Sun (Belja) 56,000
Image

The second largest stadium in Peynol, the Stadium of the Sun is home to FC Belja in the southern tip on Peynol's central region. Belja has a very humid climate that many traveling players find difficult to play in, while it provides the sort of year round comfortable temperatures that make it a popular winter retreat for those looking to escape the cold season. While not as rich as Lunas, nor as historical significant as Stilinkeep, Belja still stands as a testament to how far Pasarga has come with its diverse array of food selections and the calm demeanor that so often comes by the sea.

Group D
Taltron Park (Torgos) - 66,000
Image

Home to perhaps the most successful of the three capital clubs in Baskita FC, Taltron is the stadium usually forgotten in the capital. It is neither as big nor as fancy as Stade de Torgos, but located within a city park itself, it offers a serene surrounding and tranquil environment. Even the games inside the stadium are less rowdy than the rest of the city and nation.

San Daros (Paulinthal) - 64,000
Image

Home to the famous, or infamous depending upon where you're from, CA Paulinthal. San Daros is a stadium that intimidates it opposition, with the away locker room purposely being built to only 400 square feet in order to unnerve the opposing team before the match even begins. Being a port city, Paulinthal is home to a large immigrant city, but in particularly a very large hispanic population. As such, it is not uncommon to here a variety of accents of Spanish and even Portuguese being spoken while walking the streets, as well as other vestiges of hispanic culture like taquerias and mariachi bands.

Group E
Fire Park (Troubalose) 62,000
Image

Unlike the rest of the stadiums, Fire Park is not located in a culturally or financially rich part of the nation. The north of Pargis is one of the least populated areas of the dual islands and Troubalose being the only main population center due to the small trading port. Despite this, those who travel to Fire Park and Troubalose will find a friendly and proud host. They are the kings of the desolation and welcome any guests with both humility and respect, as well as cheering on their clubs with the passion expected from Stein-losians or Paulinthii.

Apollo Ground (Troubalose) 29,000
Image

Home to domestic club Tyrysier, infamous for foreigners being unable to speak, Apollo ground is a small and modest stadium compared to most of the rest, but its more intimate nature gives a bit of unique viewing experience for the traveling support.

Group F
Albrecht Road (Stein-los) 57,000
Image

Being the home of Stein-los Turkish, the sister club of once famous Albrecht Turkish, Albrecht Road was named after the sister club and designed with Canderlarian architecture in mind. The local is supplied with food and art from the nation to the northwest, to give even more homage to the once great club for with the stadium is named.

Stein-los Stadium (Stein-los) 59,000
Image

Despite being home to the least popular of the three major clubs from Stein-los, Stein-los stadium is the oldest stadium to be used. Despite its age, it still is one of the treasures in the nation, with its seats draped in the green of Club Stein-los and the Smoking Brickhouse pub that is attached to the stadium's north end, making it a must see destination to all football purists and tourists visiting Pasarga.

Postby Northern Sunrise Islands » Sun Aug 20, 2017 8:51 am

It was really hard to tell exactly what was witnessed at the media room as the Sunrisians were to deliver interviews after their landmark return (and thriller loss to Pridnestrovia), something that had certainly raised a lot of questions. Most of those questions being really short, such as 'Why?', 'How?' and 'Who?'.

"So... Who exactly are you?" asked one reporter. This one was surprisingly young, Sunrise the Trainer could tell. The air of inexperience. The fact he didn't even note where he was from. He smiled. "Well, I'm Sunrise. Sunrise the Trainer, to make it easier to pick up from the other two Sunrises on our team." Another, more experienced reporter promptly asked how they felt after the result. "I had a lot of fun. It's a shame our goalkeeper here dozed off during the game, didn't you?" He poked Sunrise the Character, who tried to hit him back with his blue cap. Sunrise the Fighter sprung up to keep the two separate, but the Trainer clearly did that for fun. "In any case, I hope people liked it and we'll try having more of these games while we're still participating."

The same, earlier reporter stood up again. "What exactly are you? A group of roleplayers? A bunch of college folks? Time travelers?" Instead of the Trainer answering, The Boss chose to answer this one. "We're the goddamn Northern Sunrise Islands!" The Trainer laughed a little bit, before trying to save face as if he left the woman continue, she'd probably shove her Katana up a very unpleasant place of that insistent reporter. "You could say all the three to some extent. Your Northern Sunrise is pretty much gone, aside from a couple of people that chose to stick here, either to help humanity rise to the standards established by our religion or to see off their affairs before they too make the trip." He sighed. "Or just trying to make a lot of money out of our medical secrets, that works as well. As is, we are Sunrisians, but we're not from this... 'part of town'."

"How did you get here?" asked the young reporter again. The final man of the table, Divine Comedy, answered promptly. "Through wishing on a well." The Character rose an eyebrow, The Boss rolled her eyes while the Trainer simply nodded. "We'll do the same to get back home later on." The interview continued, talking mostly about the game and the tournament. These Sunrisians had a couple of differences over their regular selves from not too long ago. They weren't pissed over their loss tonight, they were a bit too eager to face Yesopalitha while even pondering why they were asked about Nephara, their usual flair wasn't there as much as it used to, though their creativity was also leaps and bounds over their past incarnations. To be fair, they were the only team that played with masks and scarves, yet not everyone had to.

These Sunrisians weren't Sunrisians at all, thought the one reporter who started questioning them.

They walked back to the hotel they were staying, not too far away from where the Daisy was parked. Here too the Sunrisians struggled at first, people were very adamant over accepting a national team from a land that didn't even exist physically at their realm. Lady Snowblood managed to diplomatically solve matters in a swift fashion but that was only after Nirvana, Beck and Pearl Jam struggled for an hour with the hotel administration.

Were them football stars and at their home dimension, walking wouldn't be possible. But here, they were just a mystery. Even if some people did ask for a photograph or two, the novelty of taking a picture with members of this cameo team was probably worth a laugh at family gatherings. In their defense, they did try to be photogenic. Except for Neil and Noah, whose arms often made the pictures come off a bit clearer than they should.

They finally arrived at their hotel. The Boss looked up, nudging some of the players. "Hey! It's our flag!" She pointed to a Northern Sunrisian flag held up among the many flags there. "It's the one they had before they disappeared from here, I take." noted Divine Comedy, crossing his arms. "I prefer our nation's flag, but I guess this one is a fair substitute." The players passed by the flag, offering their two cents in the situation. Jeanne bowed down to the flag, funnily enough.

Firefly looked over the balcony in the room she shared with Jeanne and Tributary Law. "Brother..." she muttered, appreciating the view from the room. "I hope you're fine out there..."

Firefly, the youngest member of the team remembered very well how she had been invited for the Diamonds Club. She was a classmate of The Fox at school, noticing his technological brilliance after he aced the Tricks of Terabytes competition, bringing the title home. The Fox seemed pretty shy and she thought that wouldn't do him any good. She followed him one day, finding the ominous house of Divine Comedy. Instead of being sent off, the members chose to ask if she was interested on joining them. The girl said yes and now here she was. At another realm, far away from home.

As the girl dropped on her bed, she couldn't help but look at what the others were doing. Jeanne cleaned her gauntlet non-stop. Her usual armor wasn't far away from her either, signaling that she probably was going to spend the rest of the day working on it. Tributary Law had been practicing his balance for an hour or so, doing drills. Of note, he had spent the last twenty minutes with both legs stretched to their fullest, both of his feet standing on top of a chair. As both were clearly busy, she decided to walk outside for a bit, see what this world was all about.

As she walked through the halls, however, she saw The Fox leaving his room as well. "Michi!" the girl yelled, running up to her teammate. The Fox sighed. "Firefly, we're supposed to keep our names a secret. You never know who could be listening this." The girl nodded. "I'm sorry, Mi- I mean, The Fox." The Fox nodded. "It's fine, Hotaru. I mean, Firefly." The two shared a hearty laugh.

"So." She looked with curiosity over his shoulder. "Why did you leave your room?" The Fox shrugged. "Lady Snowblood and Sunrise the Trainer told me to leave, they were going to discuss something important, didn't need me here." She rose an eyebrow. "But you are pretty wise... Why wouldn't they let you stay for that?" He sighed. "Clearly, it's something my set of skills wouldn't help with. In any case, a great opportunity for us to check the city instead. After all, we didn't just travel here for the sport."

Pasarga had certainly an unique culture. The Fox insisted on taking Firefly to museums, to which the girl didn't put up any resistance against. He was amazed by the sights, something no explorer from the empire had ever seen. He found the reads to be enlightening, to put it shortly. As for Firefly... she couldn't really hide her boredom, but she chose to at least give some support to her friend. "It's amazing." he muttered, as the two were now on a library, reading about the nation's history. "You don't think we'll ever stumble at their similar folk in our realm, right?" Firefly, holding a pop magazine, nodded. "You did say they fled from their homeland." He nodded. "I reckon their equals were beaten by the Silver Hordes." She smiled. "Maybe we should bring those news to our queen-" A surprising Awakening appeared behind the two, stopping her. "No. We can't. She can't know about this."

"Awakening, sir?" Firefly looked back, finding his unsettling white-and-black mask. He started to talk again. "Remember Lady Snowblood's orders. No talking about there here, no talking about here there. You're free to keep your knowledge, but remind yourself that nobody else has to know." The Fox rose up from his chair. "Why? We're able to go between dimensions, might as well make the most of it!" Awakening tilted his head. "The Queen could have our heads for this, remember? A man made the machine, we're technically fleeing her empire for a second or two... She could kill us and then invade this place, then what happens?" The Fox rebuked him quickly. "The Queen isn't like that! I'm sure she'd find interesting the possibility of preserving such a rich culture in our realm and if it means going over some Silver Hordes, then it will be!"

The two masked men stood up, one against each other. A tense silence installed itself, both had conflicting views, their homeland had been expanding for a good while and even their squad wasn't fully from their home island. Firefly, herself not from the original eleven states but from one of the earliest new settlements of the empire, decided to calm the two down. "Look, it's clear we're getting this too over our heads. Why don't we go have an ice cream, the day's been pretty sunny and it could be good." The two didn't quite nod, but decided to follow her as she walked out.

A man dropped his book. The journalist was there again.

"Lady Snowblood." The twins, Dia and Noite, arrived at the room Sunrise the Trainer and The Fox (who had been sent out by the Trainer) occupied at the hotel. Lady Snowblood, holding Sunriseball had entered the room a little earlier. "Glad to see you two are back." Lady said, smiling. "Did you do what I asked you?" The two nodded. A thing that always came off as weird, specially for Sunrise the Trainer, was that the twins would almost always speak and react at the same time. Only in a football field, did they happen to do things differently. "We got a couple of books on the history of football." The two dropped five books on The Fox's bed. "It's all we could find. We shall leave now?" She waved and the two left. "I don't think I'll ever get used to them being like that."

She smirked. "I imagined. Personally, I trust more the wackier than the competent ones. Hence why I funded this whole affair. Speaking of which..." The Trainer rolled over his eyes. "I'll choose when I have to, Lady. I'll choose when I have to." She picked up one of the books, sitting near a desk and looking over a couple of pages. "I don't think time has actually passed a lot while we were out." He nodded. "Looks like it, if my gramps' tales about the realm apply." Lady Snowblood kept her eyes on the book, reading a couple of pages, mostly ones without a lot of words. "Grandpa Kentaro was a delightful man, same with his son. I'm looking forward to see if his grandson fits the bill as well." She smirked, causing the Trainer to cross his arms. "You really need to learn some subtlety. Besides, what are these books for?"

"Here we go." She said, putting her index finger over the page that started with the emboldened words SUNRISE ISLANDS, a lower text mentioning Northern, Southern, Western, Eastern, Central and Unified Sunrises. "Based on the pillars of an extensive work-based calendar, an impressive catalog of tricks and an unmatchable (as much as lands like Semarland insisted on trying to match) youth effort environment, the Sunrisians are one of the finest breed of footballers, many of them finding themselves employed all over the regions, from the emphatic majority of those playing in Dainer to cases where the players were almost the sole survivors of lands that had long entered civil war chaos like the Lavonian Islands. Although never winning a regional tournament, something they were often quoted as 'having no interest', their later participation efforts would often show way more than what a lack of interest would. Winners of two World Cups, two Under-15 World Cups and an Under-21 World Cup; beating them isn't impossible (including losses to the likes of Lymantatia) although one has to go through hell and heaven just to obtain such a result." Sunrise the Trainer smirked. "A Sunrisian wrote this, isn't it?" She shrugged. "Hopefully, with all this knowledge, we could get to win a couple of games. Remember, we're only able to stay here as long as we're still playing."

"Who invented this rule?" he asked. "Me." she replied without haste.
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!

Eastfield Lodge Roster for Copa Rushmori XXVIII

Demonym: Eastfielder

Eastfield Lodge is a pretty glorious nation, somewhat situated in Northern Rushmore - in reality, there's a very small island (acting as a transport hub) which hosts a portal linking the NSverse to a small bubble universe, wherein the rest of the Imperial Commonwealth is located (barring a couple of nations, but they’re linked up in other ways). The IC part describes the fact that there are several empires contained within one superstructure – divisions which are somewhat reflected in the convoluted league structure.

Those of you who know this nation well however will wonder what has happened to the Whoniverse (the universe of Doctor Who, the TV programme). Don’t worry, I will (hopefully) RP what went on. To those who don’t know, this nation used be in the NSverse, but due to the acts of a lone madman from The Holy Empire (mad, or pitiful, the legends are a bit shaky), Eastfield Lodge almost vanished from existence, leaving behind a small island (now in Rushmore), attached to a portal connecting here to the Whoniverse. Things happened, the portal became unstable, and we had to form a bubble universe, and as a result, the resulting temporal shockwave both wiped out all electronic records, and did some weird stuff to people’s ages (hence why some names in the team may seem recognisable).

Anyways, because of the initial portal, whilst humans are the overwhelming majority of the populace here, don't be surprised to find several other races and much advanced technology here. Some more historical information can be found here, in lieu of a factbook (NB: a lot of the information there is inaccurate though, TG me for clarification).

Back to the nation itself, Eastfield Lodge is probably the best place to live in the entirety of Rushmore, according to the WA at any rate. Amongst the accolades heaped upon are: Most Compassionate Citizens, Most Beautiful Environments, Happiest Citizens, Most Dedicated Public Healthcare, Healthiest Citizens, Least Corrupt Government, Longest Average Lifespan, Lowest Crime Rates, Nicest Citizens, Largest Public Transportation Department, Safest, Smartest Citizens, Most Popular Tourist Destinations, Best Weather and Largest Welfare Programs. Also of note is the fact that, in a region containing Saintland, Eastfield Lodge is the Most Devout nation, with Islam being the national religion, and that we have the Highest Police Ratios, so do not be alarmed by the sheer number of police officers.

Lodger City Memorial Stadium
Location: New Lodger City
Capacity: 150,000
Description: The home of Eastfielder football, the stadium was built on the ruins of the old capital of Eastfield Lodge, Lodger City, which was flattened in a double disaster (severe floods from dams bursting and an explosion from an unknown source, killing much of the population of the city and rendering the city useless. Administrative functions were transferred over to Lodgertia, the city began to be rebuilt, and it was decided that this stadium would be one of the monuments erected in place. The inside walls contains inscriptions of the names of all the dead – just under 9 million. The stadium used to play host to the two classic giants of EL football – RGS Athletic and VLC FC - until both had their new stadiums finished; it is now only used for internationals and cup matches.

Parliament Stadium
Location: Lodgertia
Capacity: 80,000
Description: Formerly the second largest stadium in Eastfield Lodge (until King Iqbal II and Vorgan Park were completed), behind the Memorial Stadium in New Lodger City, it was built in the centre of Lodgertia, the capital of Eastfield Lodge, and the Imperial Commonwealth. It was named due to the fact that the Parliament is based just a few hundred metres down the road; in fact, the original stadium was actually joined to the Parliament building, as an area where MPs could watch or even engage in sport with the public, as well as being a designated protest site. However, with Lodgertia becoming more built up, it was decided that the stadium needed to be built up as well. It is home to Lodgertia United and Lodgertia City alongside being temporary hosts of RGS Athletic and VLC FC (when Lodger City was being rebuilt), and in the past has hosted several international matches, including the final of SBCC 27 and a group in both stages of Market Cup 4.
Manager: Shabeen Ahmad III
Age: 65. He went down in Eastfield Lodge history as having scored an absurd 201 goals in 215 appearances for the EL national team (records are still being compiled, but he looks likely to be the human player with the highest tally). Still an inspiration to everyone and even at this age his skill is noticeable, even if his agility has waned. He had been the main coach/assistant manager for several World Cups, until Lowell Brown's sacking following a disappointing WC78 campaign, where he was promoted to the managerial role.

Assistant Manager: Robert Andrews
Age: 43. The former national team striker, who had over a century of international appearances to his name during his career, was specifically recruited by the new manager, his old friend and ex-teammate. This will be his first major job in football since his playing retirement, but his ability to calmly analyse situations even under immense pressure has earned him some plaudits from those in the know, and as such could prove to be a vital asset to the national team going forward.

Formation: 4-1-2-3
Image

The formation is a weird variant on the classic basic 4-3-3. Here, there is the one holding midfielder, and the other two are pushed up to play just off the ST as attacking midfielders, whilst the WFs are also slightly tucked in from a usual position. This allows them more of an equal choice of either cutting in or going out wide for the cross, which may be met by the other winger or one of the midfielders. The front five can drift to other positions at any time, just to keep defences on their toes. Defensively, the AMs will drop back and slightly out wide or into the middle as required, and are decently proficient at dispossessing the ball and using it well. The DM is mainly there to guard the defence, and is adept at picking out a pass (short or long), and helping to dictate plays. The CBs are as standard, but the FBs are given the freedom to roam forwards as far as they can get away with, and more often than will get involved in attacking plays, with some crosses from both deep and closer in.
In terms of goal scoring, the ST will get the bulk of the goals, with good contributions from both the AMs and the WFs as well. The WFs will get most of the assists, followed closely by the AMs, then the ST and DM.

If I do RP, I will include the line-up for the next match in my RP post, along with any suspensions/injuries. If there is no line-up, look through my posts and check for current suspensions/injuries, but otherwise it’s fine. Also, if you're RP'ing any part of my match, please use the full name Eastfield Lodge at least once, it helps me find the RP.

NB: As the people of EL are extremely compassionate, and very civilised (despite what you may say about the religion), it would be uncharacteristic for the coaches/players to lose their temper, dive deliberately (jumping out of the way of bad tackles and falling awkwardly doesn't count), to be sent to the stands (if the ref is clearly very biased however...), spit, argue with the ref or fight. Players will also tend to inform the referee about mistakes/clarifications in judgement regarding throw-ins, fouls given but with no contact and goal kicks/corner kicks (plus other bouts of honesty - up to you).
