NAVACK 6-0 NAUSIKAA

Image
The purple nation woke up in a party mood on Tuesday, and with a good reason. The advance classification and the title of the group mathematically guaranteed after a great match are the news that more run by the country. On Monday, the national team played against the team considered the worst of the group, the national team of Nausikaa. All bets were on the team considered the favorite in the showdown, and the premise proved to be true. After a great game and victory against the Midrasian team, The Purples went to Sotherian to play against Nausikaa at the Jörmungadr Arënna. All the fans and bettors said that the Home team would win, but none could imagine that the score could be so flat. At the first 5 minutes, the Navish team opened the score and just stoped after the final whistle, obliterating the Nausikaan team.

"It was a great game, indeed. we're happy to win, and we're happy that this flat score was more than useful for us in our goal balance, which granted for us the early classification at the 1st place. But even though, we won't forget that the competition has only begun, and despite the fans comments, all the teams are good and have their qualities. As we won today bu 6-0, we also lost by 8-0 against Volgaria not too long ago, so now we'll practice harder for the next match against Psychotez, and we'll hope a nice game."

The match began catching fire, when a steal of the ball started what would be the Navish domination throughout the game. The first goal came up at 4 minutes of game, after a long ball from Regiënald Akhråm towards Chåsenn Mathiësk, who kicked volley and scored a beautiful goal right in front of the Nausikaan GK, who just stand still without a reaction. The following 15 minutes were marked by a constant Navish attack, and at the 20 minutes of game, a kick by Chåsenn Mathiësk from outside of the penalty area scored the second goal. 3 minutes later, the Nausikaan team tried a attack using long passes, but it was intercepted by Aleksander Houlånd, who started a great run toward the field and stopped near the Nausikaan penalty area by the right side, when he crossed the ball right on Yagg Ëmill's head, for the boy score his 3rd goal in the competition, and the third goal in the game. The Navish team started to calm down the game, a strategy taught by the former coach before Stvënsk in order to save energy for the second half, due the present 3-0, more effort, would be unnecessary. With the start of the second half, Nausikaa had 2 chances of goal, defended by Killgraën, and that was pretty much what Nausikaa did instead of defend themselves. The rest of the three goals were scored, in order, by: Guståv Gargæn #4 after a corner, by Yagg Ëmill and by the GK Lukas Killgraën, after a penalty. After the match, both teams shook hands, and even though some fans booed, the crowd and the players applauded the Nausikaan team, which has been passing through a hard phase

For the next game, the manager Haëlgen Stvënsk said that he will beat fire with fire, playing with a aggressive-defensive scheme of 5-4-1, changing the CAM for an central DF. He said that the Psychotez national team plays at the mercy of the opponent's mistake, and with a more defensive scheme, they will be forced to attack, because the victory could guarantee for them the classification, as the Midrasian team will play against the Nausikaan team. The strategy is to wait for the opponent's mistake, and turn it into goals, and then come back and close the defense again.

Stay tuned at the Sportskånnel for a complete cover of the Copa D'Aeia 2017 and Avvënsk ek Purpiëns!

Tarasanovia no longer Trashanovia

Bet a team in a football match or something

It has been a flying start to the tournament for Tarasanovia as they have already notched two wins out of two against opponents Sacames (4-2) and Aquidneck (1-0). The results come as a happy response following thoughts before the tournament that the team would to do poorly despite making the final last year. These games have been played within the most recent Copa D'Aeia in Navack and Crylante.

The first game played by the team was the 1-0 win against Aarbekh associates Aquidneck. At the start the game wasn't very lively and unfortunately continued this unwanted trend throughout the first half. Only one thing of significance happened, a shot on Tarasanovia's goal that was saved well by goalkeeper Ryker Luther. Both sides were looking to do better in the second half and the game stepped up a bit. Both sides wanted the ball but it was until a mistake by an Aquidneck frontman and started a counter attack in the '68th minute by Tarasanovia. Following a string of good passes it was finished off by Hossam Mohammed with a simple shot past the keeper. The game was close until the end were it ended 1-0.

The second game brought more action to it, a meeting between heavily favoured Tarasanovia against Sacamedes, who had drawn their last game against Cheonsam. Early on in the game, the 22nd minute to be precise, Sacamedes took the lead from a stunning strike from outside of the box. Cheonsam doubled this going into half-time following a corner badly defended by the Tarasanovians. The game was very much one of two halves though, as Tarasanovia scored twice, in the 55th and 62nd minute, to level the game, scored in the 83rd minute, to win the game and another time in the 92nd minute, to cap off a great comeback. These goals came from Hossam Mohammed, Jaden Novak, Uroš Hayes and Zackary Jakeman. Surprisingly enough, in both games Zxavier Armistead has been poor and was subbed off in the 60th minute last game, with rumours he may be starting on the bench.

The Rohstian News || Wednesday 05.08.2017

TENSIONS FLARE AS UPCOMING MATCH WITH TARASANOVA NEARS
Following our national team's progression to the knockout rounds, their first match-up is with Tarasanovia, who recently declared, and backed out of, a war against our mighty nation based on faulty information they could not support. Numerous verbal clashes, and at least two small-scale physical), have been reported by authorities in Lhedwin, between Rohstian and Tarasanovian football fans. This is all leading up the the big game, where many will be spectating the event between the two opposed teams and their bad-blood drama.

THE HERO OF THE GROUP STAGE

Image
During the first 3 games of the Copa D'Aeia 2017, the Navish team scored a total of 10 goals without suffering any. 3 goals in the first match against Midrasia, 6 wonderfull goals agains Nausikaa, and 1 goal against the defensive team of Psychotez. Navack was also considered the best team of the group round, with 9 points made, 3 victories, 10 goals scored and none taken. With the best attack and the best defense so far, the MVP of the Navish National Team. The boy of 23 years scored 5 of the 10 goals during the first 3 games of the competition: 2 against Midrasia, 2 against Nausikaa and the only goal against Psychotez.

The boy was born in Berke, and started to play early with 8 years at the Bersk Sports Academy for Kids. Since then, he has always catch the coaches' eyes with his speed and talent for scoring goals. With 17 years, he played the finals for the Navish Cup Under-18 and scored 3 of 4 goals of Bersk victory by 4-3 agains Høulding, a turnover victory. That was enough for the directiory of the professional team call him to play on the professional league. His first season was brilliant, winning the prize for the player who most scored on the competition, however, Bersk lost the 1st place at the last round, when they were defeated by their direct rival ALK by 1-0 which then became the champion of the 2011 Navish Championship. It took 2 seasons between the first 3 teams (2012: 3rd; 2013: 2nd) until the so desired National Title. Bersk became the Navish Champion a few rounds before the end of the competition, with a difference of 18 points of the second place, Skogül. That was the season the Yagg Ëmill was called by the former manager of the National team to play for the purples. After 6 years playing for Bersk and 3 dressing purple, the boy started to recive some propositions to play not just by other navish teams, but also international teams like Pale FC, from Aquidneck and Olympia, from Psychotez.

"About we making the first place in a group with teams such Midrasia and Psychotez? Oh boy, the feeling is amazing, it's like a dream that came true in 4 years playing for the Navish Team. I can even remember my first match againts Glanodel in a friendly match in 2014, we lost by 4-3 and i had the honor to score my first goal ever in that game. I'm happy and honored to be elected by my people the MVP of our team, and i'm more than happy that i helped my team to win matches that were so important for us, like the goals against Midrasia and Psychotez. And about the offers? Well, we can't tell what is coming next, but i'm sure each of the 3 offers are to be considered."
Said the player after the 1-0 against Psychotez.

"What to expect now that we made through the group phase...? Well, that's a good question. We will train harder, you can be sure of that. We'll practice more and more, because even though we have won our group, we still have a lot to fix and a lot to get better. We can be the best team today, but the worst tomorrow, this is how football works. But yes, we're still humans and we are excited for the game against Tyronova. They will play the game, and they'll play as much as they can to make it, and so we. You can expect a hell of good game, tho."

Stay tuned at the Sportskånnel for a complete cover of the Copa D'Aeia 2017 and Avvënsk ek Purpiëns!

PRIDE RESCUED

Image
Midrasia saw off their opponents Nausikaa 2-0 in their final group stage match

Despite an upsetting and disastrous first game against hosts Navack, the Midrasian national team has braved the challenge of the group stages and successfully qualified for the round-of-sixteen where they will face the Communion of Pan-Slavic Nations. Many suggested that the team's attempts to challenge for the title may come to an abrupt end after the Navish team dealt Midrasia a three-nil defeat within the opening game of the tournament; a result which shocked all, player and spectator alike. Despite this upset, the defeat came as a wake-up call to Klaes Van Emerick's side. After a number of changes and moving away from the opening games' hyper-attack oriented mindset the team were able to defeat Psychotez 1-0 and Nausikaa 2-0 to finish the group stage in second place, three points clear of Psychotez.

Speaking to Klaes Van Emerick earlier today, the manager stated that he was 'cautiously optimistic' about his team's future chances in the tournament. Speaking to Démarrer earlier today, he had this to say:
'If you look at every group, it's quite clear we had one of the hardest and I think that has prepared the team for some of the challenges ahead. Sure we struggled early on, but we recovered and secured two wins to finish second. The CPSN had a harder time, only managing one win in their group and finishing third, I will say we are in with a fighting chance, but we must never underestimate our opponents.' When questioned about a potential quarter-final clash with group rivals Navack, Van Emerick stated that 'the team is focusing on the now, we will plan for the quarter finals if we get there.'

Despite this cautiously optimistic tone from the manager, some fans have speculated that Midrasia could make it all the way to the final in Berke, however pundits suggest that the path to the final will be incredibly tough, with the team placed in the harder of the two branches. Other spectators are less optimistic and suggest merely making it to the elimination round was an achievement in and of itself with the horrendous start to the team's campaign. If Midrasia can beat the CPSN they will face either Navack or Tyronova. The vast majority of pundits have Navack as the easy winners of the game, making any potential quarter-final clash a difficult one to say the least. Furthermore, also in the lower branch of the eliminations are Rohst and Tarasanovia who will clash tomorrow in one of the most anticipated games of the tournament.

Across the remaining teams however a fair number have a good shot at winning the tournament. Tournament favourites following the group stage are hosts Navack, who managed a +10 goal difference and are still yet to concede a single goal. Navack play Tyronova today who finished second in group E with only 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss. Many suggest an easy win for Navack, but it wouldn't be the first surprise of the tournament if the purples were sent packing. Next we have Rohst, who group D with 2 wins and 1 draw. The team look very strong and have a heavy attacking mindset. Despite their stellar performance in the group stage, they face last years runners up Tarasanovia in the round of 16, who were favourites going into the tournament, however the Arabekhi nations chances appear to be slipping by the day. A loss to Cheonsam saw the team finish in 2nd place in Group F with two wins and one loss. The team's star in Copa 2016 Xzavier Armistead also appears lacklustre this year, not scoring a single goal so far. The Tarasanovians will be hoping to turn that around soon. Finally we have Glanodel who surprised many in finishing second in Group C, they face off against hosts Crylante. In the other half of the eliminations we have Volgaria and New Timeria, the only two other teams able to secure a full nine points in their group stage. Both teams will face off against each other tomorrow in a clash sure to rival Rohst v Tarasanovia. Ajerrin and Oserland will also be a tough game, both teams finishing on similar points in the group stage. Frestovenia also entered the tournament with high hopes, but had to settle for slim 2nd place in Group B, finishing with 2 losses and only 1 win. They face off against Psychotez. Finally, we have the struggling Aquidneck against Cheonsam. Aquidneck narrowly qualified after beating Sacemes 1-0, pundits however believe their time will be limited, with Cheonsam looking the easy winners of their next match.

Be sure to stay tuned to Démarrer, Midrasia's premier footballing magazine for more updates and info on this years' Copa d'Aeia!

Sharks Defender Hokuao Keona

Hokuao Keona is a product of Ajerrin soccer and his journey through Er'in'a United and National Soccer has been a long road. The 28-year-old defender has established himself in the league after an initial loan from the Mohani City Spirits in 2013 led to a permanent transfer the following year. He signed a multi-year deal with the club prior to the 2015 season.

A quadriceps tear caused Keona to miss the 2015 season and he has only recently started to get back to full fitness and form. Since the beginning of July, Keona has been working with the National Team and plans to get full time on the field each game.

The product of the Impact youth club and Island League has had another big change to his life in recent months, his wife gave birth to their first baby girl.

Keona was gracious enough to sit down for a chat with ANN's Jona P'lohi. Here's what he had to say:

Jona: You getting any sleep these days?

Keona: Yeah, actually, I am… My wife has been great! She takes care of the newborn at night and I take care of the 2-year old at night. So, my sleep kind of depends on the 2-year-old, which is kind of off and on- pretty sporadic, but it just comes down to hour managing. If I can’t sleep at night, I’ll try to get a nap in during the day. So I try to get any sleep in where I can…

J: What advice are you giving and what advice are you getting from the guys on the squad about fatherhood…?

K: Getting? Not much… just get as much sleep as you can… ‘Don’t get enough sleep? Get a nap!’ you know? Giving? Same sort of thing… same sort of advice…

J: Let’s talk about the team a little bit… from the beginning of the year, it was one of the more odd situations up there with the decision being made before having a national team stadium. What was that part of the season like and what’s it finally like to be playing in a finished stadium?

K: Yeah, it’s definitely a unique situation where you’re trying to figure out your identity and you’re on the road working together for the first time on grounds that aren't your own. You never have a chance to set a ledger. You’re traveling a lot so your training time gets cut down. Obviously, to set your identity you need to play at home. So, that being said it makes all those minor details a little harder to polish out from the very beginning of the season.

But we did very well. We accomplished what we had to accomplish to set ourselves up really well for the Copa. We'll show you in a few days.

J: Considering your potential in this first season as National Team, what do you see right now with this finish?

K: Honestly, I think it’s all in our hands. I think our schedule is very tough. I think Onza and Psycho have an easier schedule than ours despite the fact that we're all on our rookie years.
I think if we stay focused and if we can score the first goal, we’ve shown that we’re hard to beat. I think that’s important and that we stay solid in the back and keep doing what we’re doing around the field, then we’re going to score. If we keep doing that, then I think we’ll be fine. I think if we get the points when we’re at home and maybe can draw away then I think we set ourselves up for the 16 or even Quarters.

J: For those that don’t know your story, what gravitated you to play the story in the first place?

K: It’s interesting. My dad was always into sports and he played baseball and soccer in college. So, when we moved to Mohani City, he became a teacher and then a baseball coach. The school needed a coach for the soccer team and he said that he would do it. So, he became the soccer coach. And my brother and I were at an age where we were choosing between soccer and baseball. We always looked up to my dad and the guys that he coached with since we were around them all the time. We thought that they were some of the greatest players that we had ever seen, so I think that’s what really had me choose soccer over baseball.

J: When you look at Mohani City as a soccer community, what do you think about its growth over time?

K: Yeah! I remember going to the Spirit games and I remember there was always a decent atmosphere. But then playing in EU, I remember we had a great atmosphere and a great crowd for a State team and then an announcement for an MLS team. To see all the season tickets that have been sold and see that kind of support, I have always known that soccer was kind of big in Mohani, but I questioned if they could support a professional team. But, obviously, everyone is really excited about what’s going on- including myself.

J: You've made it to the next stage. How do you think you'll fair against Oserland?

K: We're getting our footing together rather quickly. Our first match against Rohst didn't go exactly as planned but we learned out lesson rather fast. We made adjustments as you can see - they're paying off. We'll continue to make adjustments and put our best team on the field.

J: Now, the fun part… it’s the “King for a Day” question: How would you make sure that Ajerrin keeps and maintains its growth curve as a soccer community?

K: I think it starts with the Academy there. I think that’s going to be the new standard for soccer in the Kingdom. If you start there and get that right, and develop a system as to how you want to develop young players, it’s going to spread around to the clubs. There are some great clubs around Mohani, so they’ll do the same thing.

Then, what’s down the road is really important. Having a good National team that the fans can get around is really important as well. Young kids can look up to the team and have something to play for when they do get older. I think that’s the most important thing- kids growing up having a connection and seeing themselves growing up and playing for the local team. I think that kind of drives them a little bit.

After going 3-0 many people are excited to see how New Timeria does in the round of 16 against Volgaria. The Dragons have gone on a ferocious run this year and many are already proud of what they were able to accomplish this year but none are ready to see it end here. Especially team captain Shima Ryu who has been very successful in this year's tournament. Our own Mia got the chance to sit down and talk with him before the match tonight.

Mia: I understand that things have been going very well for you. What can you attribute this success to?

Ryu: My teammates...coaches...staff. We've all worked very hard to get to this point and I think without them I wouldn't be as successful as I am individually... We're a team and working with them makes me better.

Mia: That's been a very important thing for the team this year. We've heard you guys use the phrase "More than a team" throughout this Copa... What does that mean for you guys?

Ryu: Exactly what it says. We're more than a team... We're family. This isn't just some cliche slogan we made up to boost team spirit. We live by it... This past Saturday I watched Hikaru's son while he went out... If one of our cars break down we don't call a mechanic we go to Shinzo, one of the athletic trainers. When we step out on that field we share a bond that no one can break.

Mia: Well thank you for sharing that with us but what about Volgaria? Do you think they have the same conviction, drive, and bond? What makes your team different from there's?

Ryu: Honestly Mia... I don't think they do. When we step out on that field we want to show them that we've worked 10times harder than you guys and are bond and drive as a team can't be broken. I'm pretty sure they weren't homeless playing soccer on a beach all day. That's my story ... that's how hard I love this and if they think they're going to take this moment away from me they're out of their damn minds.... Excuse me for that.

Mia: Well it seems you have a lot on this match.

Ryu: Too much...

Mia: I don't want to pry too much into your game strategies but what are your plans for this match? Throughout this Copa you guys have played very team oriented soccer... a lot of passing and you've shown a lot of trust in each other. Do you think it'll change now?

Ryu: I don't want to say too much but yes we're always going to be very team orientated and get everyone involved. We have so many weapons there's no way any team can slow us all down. Other than that I won't give you any strategies but just know we're all going to give this game 110% times what Volgaria does and we're going to give out everything to bring home the win.

Mia: Well thanks a lot for talking with us. Are there any last words?

Ryu: Tune into to the match...

Coach: 'Not happy about the group stage results'

The Frestovenian coach said earlier this week in an article in the Frestovenian newspaper 'AsvardSport': 'We're not happy about the results, we didn't expect to play so bad against those teams. Everyone thought that Frestovenia will take spot 1 in the group but everything changed when the Frestovenian team lost against the Volgarian National team, After that match It seemed like no-one wanted to really play football, It was as if we had already played the whole tournament. They were very tense, I think it came through the nerves. Anyway this is not the team like a month ago. I told the team and staff that we need to focus and take some rest. Today we play against the team of Psycho, The latest polls thinks that Frestovenia will win easily, But i think we have to wait until the 90 minutes are over.

Ferrets at the Copa d'Aeia 2017!

In the match between Frestovenia and The CPSN, 17 ferrets were running over the football field in the 17' Minute. As a commemoration of the dead in the former capital 'Frestovinn', Where earlier this year terrorist attacks were committed at the parliament building in the capital. 17 people died at that day.

ROUND INTERVIEW

Hello, purple nation! and welcome to the Sportkånnel! I'm Frank Hølland and this is our Round Interview program, where our more than special guests come to give their opinions and thoughts about the last round of this marvelous sport that is the football. And today we'll have the honor to talk with 3 very important faces of our football scenario. Our first guest was one of the greatest Fowards of our national team, and has the record of more goals scored for Høulding in their golden era, Jaen Helsink! The second guest was the last manager of our national team, Paul Lorikk! And, our last but no least guest, is my collegue from the Sportkånnel Radio Station, Fredericksën Reagen! Come in everybody, and welcome to the Round Interview, at Sportkånnel!

J; P; FR: Thank you!

FH: So, what a group stage! Not talking just about our team's campaing, but we had some other surprises too, like Aquidneck making through the Round of 16 on the last round of the group stage, and other thing, but not surprising was Ternca disappoiting again it's fans with another poor campaing.

FR:In fact, Frank. Good night for all the spectators! Ternca has left a lot to desire this year, as it did on the last year's competition. Two years in a row being the last of their group, i wouldn't be surprise if the players from terncans club were major not terncans. It's quite sad to see a team with such potential, but not giving it's full potential. We could see that on the game against Frestovenia, but see, that is not enough in a competition like this, because a team like Aquidneck, which qualified on the last game, was classified one position under Ternca on the general table, but they did pass, and Ternca did not.

P:What i think about this, Reagen, is that the terncan team lacks experience and a decent management. Just take a look at the Midrasian team, for example: They lost their first match by 3-0 against us, and they had a hard time to pass Psychotez, and if any other team was in their shoes, i bet that they wouldn't have made it as Midrasia did. From the m,oment when Ternca fix these problems, or lacks, they will start to winn again.

FH:And now, let's talk about something else. The Ajerri team has shown that they came to this competiton to fight. They had a lost on their first match against Rohst, which is one of the favorites of this competition, but after, againts Crylante and Vvarden, they really show their talent. And they did so, that Høulding is loking foward for a contract with the Ajerri defender Hokua Kenoa, an important piece that made their classification something more that a plan.

J:Well, Frank, Høulding has left the agressive way of playing a while ago, when they finished for 3 years in a row in the last positions. And their rising has been smething visible, as in the last 3 years, they've finished in 8th, 5th and 2nd, respectively. If the team that he's playing accept to sell him, i bet that Høulding will have a chancec to even win the championship this year.

FH:And speaking now about our team, and a propable game against Midrasia if both teams pass, what are your expectations for the Navish team in this round of 16?

FR:They surprised us since the very first game of this competition, and i bet we cacn expect a lot of them today against Tyronova. And yes, what a game would be Navack against Midrasia on the quarter finals? A rematche of the first game of the Copa...But first, we have a challenge, and they have their's. This match against Tyronova won't be easy, since they've come from a 1-1-1, they will give their all against us. We just have to wait and see what our team will do next, any result would be a surprise, considering that if we win, that would be the first time of Navack at the quarters, and if we lose, it will be a shock for everybody that is betting Navack as the Champion of the 2017 Copa D'Aeia.

Stay tuned at the Sportskånnel for a complete cover of the Copa D'Aeia 2017 and Avvënsk ek Purpiëns!
