OOC information and instructions:
Scorinating:

Results for all the matches will be generated using xkoranate 0.3.3. Nations can improve the chances of their team doing well by posting RP in the thread.

How to RP?

Really, there is no right or wrong way to do it. First thing you could do, however, is posting rosters of your teams here. Roster is basically just a list of your players and their positions on the field, along with some other vital information about your team (kit colors, coach, other staff etc). However, you can go as in-depth with it as you want, to the extent of writing a small bio about each and every one of your players if you want to. It's really up to you.

Once that is done, you can post additional RP every once in a while. Maybe you want to post some news articles about how your teams are doing in the competition? Or, maybe instead give us some insight about what is going on behind the scenes before and after the matches? As I said, you are pretty much free to RP any way you want to, and while it is not required to RP, it does give your teams additional RP bonus that will increase your teams chances of doing well in the competition.

Every matchday, results of the matches will be posted by me on this thread some time around 20:00 BST. Additional schedule will also be revealed soon.

UCL 2017: Opening Ceremony

Broadcast starts with the official UCL 2017 intro, after which, commentators have about 7 minutes to talk and provide the viewers some background information about the competition, while broadcast shows different scenes from the city of Tushlark:

Image

Eventually, a drone camera shows the layout of the city from top, while flying around and stopping at McTherry arena, where the ceremony is about to start any moment now. Camera zooms in to the stadium that is full of fans eagerly waiting for the ceremony to start.

Image

Broadcast then changes to a different camera, one of those on the stadium. It shows the grass field that, right now, is covered with a blue tarpaulin. After that, the audience is shown. A lot of different flags are being waved by them, and a lot of different colors are seen on the tribune. Camera stops at a bunch of Aysean Campifut fans chanting and singing.

Image

Whole crowd (well, a majority of them) starts cheering as camera shows Togonistani singer Malinda entering the stadium. Malinda is wearing a leather jacket with black jeans and high-heeled boots. She walks to the middle of the field while holding a microphone and smiles as the music starts playing.

Tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p21_cVkj14
Malinda - ''Beauty of the Game''
Music: DJ Stryker
Lyrics: Malinda

Malinda puts the microphone near her mouth and starts singing:

Here's to the ones that are crying to play
Whether you're local or from far away
We can be together feeling the might
You can keep playing through all day and night
We could be the voice when there's no way to cry
Let it all out 'cause now is your time

A lot of backing dancers enter the stadium now, in fact, there is 40 of them. All of them are dressed in football kits of the clubs that are participating in UCL 2017. There is one per every club and they all also carry a football with them.

All the matches that we play, we can play for peace
The love we have to borrow, we can spend together
If you don't surrender, remembered be forever
We can be, can be...

As Malinda starts singing the chorus, all the background dancers raise their football over the top of their head while chanting the words with her.

United once and for all!
Rise for the beauty of game
United once and for all!
Yes we can, we can...
(Na na, na na na, na na na)
Yes we can, we can...
(Na na, na na na, na na na)
United once and for all!

When the instrumental part starts, all the background dancers start juggling with their ball. They do a lot of tricks with them and it is all beautifully synchronised. Malinda is just moving around between them and dancing to the rhythm of the music. When it is time for her to sing again, all the dancers suddenly fall on their knees, put their ball to the ground and rest their head on it while Malinda is singing:

This one's for you if you feel you're opressed
Just wave the flag with your team's crest
If you're on ground, sky high you can rise
Let yourself loose, 'cause this is our time

All the matches that we play, we can play for peace
The love we have to borrow, we can spend together
If you don't surrender, remembered be forever
We can be, can be...

When it’s time for the chorus again, her dancers rise up and do some robotic dance moves. Still, it all looks nicely synchronized.

United once and for all!
Rise for the beauty of game
United once and for all!
Yes we can, we can...
United once and for all!
It's time to lay down your guns
Yes we can, we can...
United once and for all!

Malinda and her dancers start jumping around, some of them are doing a few trick with their ball here and there.

(Na na, na na na, na na na)
Yes we can, we can..
(Na na, na na na, na na na)
Yes we can, we can..
United once and for all!
Rise for the beauty of game
Yes we can, we can...
United once and for all!

When the song ends, Malinda raises her left fist up. Whole stadium goes wild and chants as Malinda and her crew leave the stadium. After that, announcement is said from the speakers: ''Welcome to the 2nd Ultimaverse Champions League in Togonistan! Please make a huge applause to Malinda. And now, prepare yourselves for the official song of UCL 2017.''

A huge applause on the stadium as Daniel Makala enters the arena, accompanied by his own group of dancers (this time, they are all dressed in kind of a carnival costumes).

Tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OnRxfhbHB4
Daniel Makala – ''Winner’s pride''
Music: Ark Panausa
Lyrics: Ark Panausa, Daniel Makala

Daniel is standing on a small circular stage that was brought to the arena shortly before. His backing dancers start dancing with synchronized dance moves as Daniel sings his song:

Discover passion in yourself
Move towards victory
Nobody will live your life so do it yourself
Let's go and write our names in books of history
Preparing your body and mind
Toward the pride
All string of limitation are now untied
Intelligence and pace
Real accuracy
Scoring goals i see

Camera shows some fans on the stadium dancing and singing along.

A-A-A game goes on (goes on)
Heading to gran finale
Steadily (steadily)
Ready for a kick off
And playing in the rain

Daniel jumps off the stage and starts dancing while singing at the same time.

It is the pride of the winner
The line we drew goes thinner
When moving towards fame and glory (olé)
May the force be with us
'cause in our spirit we trust
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride
It is the winner's pride
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride

Once again, camera shows some fan on the stadium.

This chance is once in a lifetime
So give your everything
Because playing football was never ever a crime
Time to feel you're wild and free
Looking for victory
Write names in history

A-A-A game goes on (goes on)
Heading to gran finale
Steadily (steadily)
Ready for a kick off
And playing in the rain

It is the pride of the winner
The line we drew goes thinner
When moving towards fame and glory (olé)
May the force be with us
'cause in our spirit we trust
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride
It is the winner's pride
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride

Eventually, Daniel makes his way back to the stage and puts his left hand up, waving it slowly.

When standing in the sunlight and holding your trophy
It is the winner's pride
It is the winner's pride
So let the game begin
Namasté, olé

Daniel dances a bit more on the stage before singing the final part of his song.

It is the pride of the winner
The line we drew goes thinner
When moving towards fame and glory (olé)
May the force be with us
'cause in our spirit we trust
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride
It is the winner's pride
So let the game begin
It is the winner's pride

Daniel and his dancers leave the field, which is then immediately cleaned of any props Daniel was using in his performance.
Voice from the speakers on stadium says: ’’And now, please welcome all the teams participating in 2nd Ultimaverse Champions League.’’
Crowd starts cheering and makes a huge amount of noise when this tune starts playing and all the teams, one by one, enter the stadium as their names are shouted out. They take a walk around the field before eventually moving to their spots. After 8 minutes and 30 seconds, all the teams have made it to the field and are standing in a box formation. Eventually, the music stops and crowd goes wild once again.

''During the next following weeks, these 40 teams are fighting for the one and only UCL Trophy. Which one of them is going to succeed? We hereby officially announce that the 2nd Ultimaverse Champions League has now started!''

After these words, a few emotions from the fans on stadium are shown before the broadcast ends.

Arioslavian teams ready for the Champions League

by Stanislav Ivashkievich

Following the humiliating defeat of the Arioslavian clubs during the last year Champions League edition, the football fans expect a big return. Four teams from Premier Liga - Rapid Olonka, Zenit Neuburg, CSKA Telgrad and Torpedo Telgrad - will soon find out who is going to be their group rivals. Let's take an insight into the situation of our teams.

First of all, we have to acknowledge one extremely important fact - many has changed in Arioslavian football during that one year. New Chairman of the AFF, Nikolay Rokossov enacted many reforms in the Federation - sometimes against the delegates of the regional structures. The reforms allowed many managers to employ better staff from abroad, many clubs decided to expand their training base, which in many cases still remembered the times of the USRR. But first of all, the Federation is now closer with the fans. It seems that the times when the fans chanted vulgar songs about the AFF are a past by now - partially as an effect of the reforms, but mainly as an effect of the good results of the national team, led by Vyacheslav Frolov. After Sborna won the 3rd place in the Ultimaverse Cup last year, the nation has fallen into football mania. Soon, the effects were visible in the league too, as many wealthy sponsors decided to invest into football.

Rapid Olonka - the unexpected 2016/17 season champion - is by far the most underrated of all Arioslavian clubs taking part in the Champions League. Unlike other teams, they have no big successes in its history, they also have no stars in the squad. However, it does not mean they should be undermined. Iron defense and tactical discipline introduced by manager Igor Timofeyev turned Rapid into a dangerous rival for any team and was the key to the 2016/17 season success. The biggest weakness of the team from Olonka is the lack of the leader and quite average technical skills.

Zenit Neuburg, which dominated the Arioslavian league for three past seasons before Rapid finally broke their hegemony, had seen a big reshape under new Dutch manager Theo van Claas. Wealthy sponsors from the Ariogaz company allowed Zenit to create the biggest transfer budget in the league. During the last transfer period Zenit spent for transfers 245 million $ in total, buying talented players from Western Europe. But the biggest star of the team, loved by fans in nearly all of Arioslavia - attacker Aleksandr Artyomov - is by far the most efficient Zenit player, having scored 45 goals in the last season. Supported by experienced midfielder Nikolay Witte, creative French right midfielder Thierry Gruyere, mighty sniper Max Schwenk from Allemand, quick Spanish partner from the attack Daniel Torres and young players from the famous football school, Artyomov and company is expected to give no chance to league rivals in the 2017/18 season. Mr van Claas has a mission to accomplish in Neuburg - to create an Arioslavian football superpower with a worldwide prestige. Will he succeed? The time will show.

Coach of the Zenit long-time rivals CSKA Telgrad - Nikolay Svetozarov - has similar goals and nearly equally big means to use. CSKA, which gained international fame during the golden era in the 70's and 80's, for last few seasons was in the shadow of Zenit and local rival Spartak (5th place in the last season). The team won the title of the Champions of Arioslavia six times (seasons 1998/1999, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2010/11 and 2011/12) and Champions of the USRR 21 times, which makes CSKA the most titled team in Arioslavian football history (counting both Arioslavian and Soviet league wins, CSKA won 27 times, Spartak - 23 times, Zenit - 12 times, Torpedo - 8 times, Dynamo Kirsk - 7 times, Rubin Khazan' - 5 times). Svetozarov wants to recreate strong CSKA - strong-build defender Aram Kagoyan and experienced attacker Ivan Tikhonov are a backbone of his team. Other players, like Aleksey Shirokov or young Belgian Maxime Vandenbaek are a solid add to Svetozarov's construction, making the team worth its international prestige.

Local rivals of CSKA, Torpedo Telgrad, led by 48 years-old Italian Giuseppe Orsolini, hope to continue their series of successes. In the last season, Torpedo, which was very close to fall from the Premier Liga, suddenly jumped to the 4th place. This success is even more impressive if we take into account the limited club budget. Orsolini, whose leadership seems to be like a breath of the freash air to the team, managed to create a strong defensive, based on brilliant goalkeeper Ivan Yashin and two Italian players - Luigi di Ambrosio and Filippo Vetra - but the only attacker he bought during the last transfer period was Leandro Sanchez from Spain. Orsolini's favourite tactics - 5-4-1 - was successful in the league. Club fans hope that the team is able to mantain its good results in the Champions League.

The biggest football club competition in the world soon begins in Togonistan. Except Arioslavian and Togonistani teams, we'll see the clubs from all over the world, including last year edition winners, Aysean Campifut from Britonisea. Unfortunetely, due to ongoing war, we won't observe players from Central and South America, except those who played abroad before the formation of the LAF regime. We hope that the new Champions League winner is from our country. This time, the chances are big, but we shouldn't be over-optimistic, to avoid disappointment, like many times before.

BRITONISH TEAMS FOR THE ULTIMAVERSE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2017

AYSEAN CAMPIFUT
Skill Modifier: +2

Aysean Campifut is the most successful Britonish team ever since the RU (Rexubliqué Ultimæverté) Football League was established in 1994.

Name of Team: Aysean Campifut

Aysean Campifut are also the winners of the Ulitmaverse Champions League 2016, and are hoping to replicate the success they had last year, here in Togonistan. Aysean Campifut has been unbeatable in the past few iterations of the RU Football League, having won 18 of their 23 group stage matches in the 2016 iteration and 19 of the 23 group stage matches in 2017, earlier this year.

NORWAEGE CAMPIFUT
Skill Modifier: +4

Norwaege Campifut is another successful football club in Britonisea, and has participated in the RU Football League since it's establishment in 1994...

Name of Team: Norwaege Campifut
Home Stadium: Junterapten Stadium (47,000)

Times won the RU Football League: 4 ('95, '96, '00, '05)
Current League Position 2017: 2nd (Highest position 1st; 2005)

Norwaege Campifut is one of the most successful Britonish football clubs, having won the RU Football League in 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2005, but has not one since. Along with the current #1, Aysean Campifut, Norwaege Campifut, has come 2nd place 5 times, in the years 2004, 2008 - 2010 and most recently in 2017. Norwaege has struggled after Sports City's rise to glory in 2010, and Norwaege did take a tumble in the rankings, being in the relegation zone for the first time ever. However, the football club did bounce back by 2015, and managed to be at top form coming in to the 2016 UCL, but came 3rd out of 4 in their group stage. Sports City and Aysean went in to the knock out stages.

SPORTS FOOTBALL CLUB
Skill Modifier: -1

Sports Football Club is located in Sports City, Luton, who rose to fame after more than two decades of dwelling near the bottom. They qualified to the knockouts to UCL last year, and they are hoping to do the same here.

Name of Team: Sports Football Club
Home Stadium: Sports Football Club Stadium (19,000)
Home Area: Sports City, Luton, Britonisea
Manager: John Burry

Colours for UCL 2017: Orange, Blue

Times won the RU Football League: 2 ('10, '11)
Current League Position 2017: 4th (Highest position 1st; 2010)

Norwaege Campifut is one of the most recent success stories in the RU Football League, and after 26 years, in 2010, Sports Football Club won the RU Football League, to a surprised home audience in the largest Stadium in Britonisea. They managed to win again in 2011, straight after their first win. The football club came second place two times, in 2013 and 2014. Sports City's wins were praised a lot because both of their wins was when the field of teams participating dramatically increased from 20 to 25, and their first second place also was on a field of 25 teams. They were the most successful team in the 25 team period. Now, we are entering the 24 team period, and next year, they are hoping for their third win.

ARIOSLAVIAN TEAMS REVEAL THEIR UCL SQUADS

Squads for the first matches to be shown soon!

Zenit Neuburg

Skill mod: +5

Kits: light blue (home), white (away)

Goalkeepers: Mikhail Anafeyev (1), Yuri Moryak (22), Igor Andreyev (23)
Defenders: Geert Veltman (2), Grigori Kornilov (3), Giorgi Dzhabaishvili (4), Maksim Orlov (5), Vladimir Chekhov (12), Sergey Fokich (19)
Midfielders: Nikolay Witte (6), Igor Kerensky (18), Max Schwenk (7), Thierry Gruyere (8), Mikhail Sazonov (9), Vadim Tyshkievich (13), Artyom Arakcheyev (14), Ruslan Bulganin (15), Aleksey Denikin (16), Hamit Topral (17)
Attackers: Daniel Torres (10), Aleksandr Artyomov (c., 11), Igor Semak (20), Dmitry Ushakov (21)

Coach: Theo van Claas

Most used formation: 4-3-3, sometimes switching to 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 - Zenit usually tries to dominate the centre of the pitch, trying either to start the attacks from the flanks, in hope of sending the ball to Artyomov or Torres, or to create a good shot opportunity for snipers, like Schwenk or Kerensky. In general, Zenit plays a quick yet very mature football.

Key players:

Aleksandr Artyomov - 24 years-old Artyomov is the biggest football star in Arioslavia, taking attention of media and fans. He is a captain both in Zenit and in the national team, due to charisma and leader skills. His technical skills allow him to create danger for any defense, he also has a very good 'score opportunity intuition'.

Daniel Torres - This 22 years-old Spanish attacker came to Zenit for 35 million $ during the last transfer period, quickly became a good partner to Artyomov. Short, but very strong and quick, he is nearly unstoppable in the penalty area.

Max Schwenk - Schwenk is an Allemandian 27 years-old centre midfielder with uncommon sniper skills - his mighty shots from 16 meters, as well as his freekicks, can surprise even the best goalkeeper.

Nikolay Witte - Experienced 30 years-old left midfielder is the team 'tactician', responsible for the organisation of the 2nd line and conducting the deadly attack from the left flank.

Thierry Gruyere - Gruyere is the newest add to the Zenit midfield formation, bought for 12 million $. He is very quick, but still he needs more experience. Nevertheless, he is a strong point of Zenit right flank.

CSKA Telgrad

Skill mod: +2

Kits: red and black (home), black and red (away)

Goalkeepers: Sergey Onopkin (1), Anton Pyatov (22), Yuri Lukashevich (23)
Defenders: Aram Kagoyan (2), Aleksandr Tumenko (3), Dmitry Zhigulin (4), Boris Yarmolov (5), Oleh Shvidkiy (12), Andrey Arsenov (13), Roman Tkachuk (14), Yevgeni Rutenko (15)
Midfielders: Dmitry Larionov (6), Aleksey Chicherin (7), Maxime Vandenbaek (8), Milorad Bojanović (9), Hryhoriy Mykhailenko (16), Andrey Radunov (17), Sergey Kovtun (18), Igor Koroviev (19)
Attackers: Ivan Tikhonov (c., 10), Aleksey Shirokov (11), Pavel Valerkin (20), Ivan Korsakov (21)

Coach: Nikolay Svetozarov

Most used formation: 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2

Key players:

Ivan Tikhonov - 26 years-old attacker is the best CSKA player, gaining nearly as much well-deserved attention as his Zenit rival Artyomov. He is renowned for his technical skills.

Aleksey Shirokov - Shirokov is an experienced attacker. Along with Tikhonov they create a dangerous pair for any defender.

Torpedo Telgrad

Skill mod: +1

Kits: black-white stripes (home), black (away)

Goalkeepers: Ivan Yashin (c., 1), Maksim Ovechkin (22), Igor Pronko (23)
Defenders: Luigi di Ambrosio (2), Roman Semyonov (3), Denis Zinovyev (4), Filippo Vetra (5), Timur Babayev (14), Gennadi Nadazhdin (15), Yuri Romanov (16)
Midfielders: Roman Fokich (6), Yuri Vassiliev (7), Yevhen Fedotenko (8), Mikhail Tsviklov (9), Yuri Filipov (10), Pyotr Ryumin (17), Timon Aksakov (18), Mikhail Nikitin (19), Konstantin Zheltukh (20), Lev Donets (21)
Attackers: Leandro Sanchez (11), Semyon Yevseyev (12), Nikita Bohun (13)

Coach: Giuseppe Orsolini

Most used formation: 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 - Torpedo plays defensive football, relies on slowly-constructed team attacks or counter-attacks on the flanks.

Key players:

Ivan Yashin - Legendary Arioslavian goalkeeper. He started his career in 1999, becoming a key person both in Torpedo and in the national team. Although his career lasts for 18 years and he is 38 now, his position in the team is very strong, as he is the 'team spirit'.

Filippo Vetra - When Mr Orsolini came to Torpedo from AS Roma, he brought a bunch of strong and clever Italian defenders with him. Soon, it became clear that this decision was very good.

Yuri Vassiliev - Vassiliev is probably the best Arioslavian player in Torpedo. Despite his age (32), he is still a very strong point in the team's 2nd line, usually making use of his experience.

Leandro Sanchez - Sanchez, who came to Torpedo in 2017 plays a central role in the team's attacks. Very quick, he is a dominator in the penalty area.

Rapid Olonka

Skill mod: -1

Kits: black-blue stripes (home), black (away)

Goalkeepers: Stepan Zinovyev (1), Konstantin Birunov (22), Aleksey Aldonnik (23)
Defenders: Lev Tkatsky (2), Boris Shurin (3), Andrey Zaldostanov (4), Leonid Savyelev (5), Anton Stepanov (12), Aleksey Anadolov (13), Prokhor Gagayev (14)
Midfielders: Yevgeni Denisov (c., 6), Anatoliy Sidorov (7), Roman Yukhin (8), Vladimir Tropanov (9), Igor Cheremyshko (15), Vadim Danilenko (16), Roman Grigulev (17), Danil Rezhnik (18), Yuri Zolotko (19), Andrey Ryumin (20)
Attackers: Mikhail Orlov (10), Oleg Grimsky (11), Shervan Dzhigayev (21)

Coach: Igor Timofeyev

Most used formation: 5-3-2 - The team concentrates on defense, usually scoring after counter-attacks.

Key players:

Yevgeni Denisov - Denisov is by far the best-known Rapid player. His leader skills make him an organisator of the team's game - and this is why he is a captain, as the coach prefers an iron discipline to individual skills.

Togonistan's teams in UCL 2017

So, with all the fuss about hosting the biggest football competition in the region, it seems like the media has completely forgotten about one of the most important things - the teams actually representing us. Well, be afraid no more, because we are here to give you a detailed overview of all our teams competing in the 2nd Ultimaverse Champions League.

Tushlark Superstars

Manager: Damon McTherry
Style: 4-5-1
Home town: Tushlark
Current league: Togonistan Premier League
Titles won: Togonistan Premier League 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, Togonistan Diamond Cup 2014, 2015

ROSTER FOR UCL:
Image

First, we have Tushlark Superstars, a team that has dominated the local football scene for, well, as long as anyone can remember really. With their manager Damon McTherry, a well-known multi-billionaire constantly pumping money into the team, it's also not a big surprise. With talents such as Luca Faleta, Ler Tuvalu, Mark-Andre Nielssen and Greg Kanufatu, Superstars are considered as being the only team from Togonistan who would really have a chance against Aysean Campifut. But, of course, that's just what the experts think.

FC Hawkston

Manager: Sean Hulk
Style: 4-5-1
Home town: Hawkston
Current league: Togonistan Premier League
Titles won: Togonistan Premier League 2008, Togonistan Diamond Cup 2017

ROSTER FOR UCL:
Image

FC Hawkston caused a huge controversy at the start of the year by winning the Diamond Cup and, with that, securing a spot in UCL. This team from Hawkston has been so far hiding in a shadow of FC Pegasus, another team from Hawkston. However, it's them who are here fighting for the trophy, and we sure hope to see the cinderella story continue.

Hwoarang Shoguns

Manager: Sugimoto Muneyaki
Style: 4-4-2
Home town: Hwoarang
Current league: Togonistan Premier League
Titles won: Togonistan Premier League 2014

ROSTER FOR UCL:
Image

Hwoarang's team has always been a strong competitor in the local football scene, so it is no surprise that they are the ones who secured a spot for UCL after winning their group of a domestic qualification tournament. Despite not having as remarkable names in the roster as Superstars have, Shoguns have always been known for having a great chemistry and overcoming the lack of individual skill by having a superb teamwork.

FC Power

Manager: Carl Leaf
Style: 4-3-2-1
Home town: Incendia
Current league: Togonistan Premier League
Titles won: Togonistan League 1 2013, Togonistan Emerald League 2014

ROSTER FOR UCL:
Image

FC Power is a team that is considered as an outsider here. After winning Group B of a domestic qualification tournament by snatching the spot from FC Tushlark Elks at the last moment, fans spent more time rambling about the Elks poor performance rather than being amazed by FC Power qualifying for the UCL. Well, FC Power has shown a decent run by being a rather young team and making their way up to the Premier League, so we'll see how well they do in a international competition.

((RP Permissions)):
Basically do what you want, as long as it stays reasonable and realistic.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod other events: Yes

HOW DID THE BRITONISH TEAMS DO?

Yesterday, four teams that make up part of the 24-team RU League had their very first match in the 2nd Ultimaverse Champions League, and there has been mixed reactions to the results of these matches. We will have a quick look at the matches, that the Britonish teams played in, and see where each group went wrong or where they excelled, as well as go through the groups to see who we think will get through to the next round of the competition, which is the knock out stage.

GROUP D
Norwaege Campifut (Britonisea) 1–1 Bearbay Stingers FC (Aurevbush)

The team that is second in the RU Football League drew with the Bearbay Stingers FC, from Aurevbush. Sources say that the Aurevbushans were expecting a lose against this team, and we can confirm that the Britonish thought this match would be a relatively easy match for Norwaege Campifut, the 4 time champions of the RU Football League. Britonisea's Earnest Franck was the first one to score a goal in Amarillo Park, after the half time at '73 minutes, for these games as 20,000 people saw Bearbay to come back with a goal only come back with another goal after Ron Xander was given a yellow card during the match. Bearbay celebrated heavily as the Aurevbushans scored at '86. With only four minutes to go, Norwaege tried to score another goal, attempting a total of four times. But there efforts were not enough as the final whistle blew, and the match ended in a disappointing match, and therefore Norwaege draws with Bearbay for second place. It is up to the matches later today to see how the two football teams will be split up.

GROUP F
Port Stephen Sunshine (Kannap) 0–2 Aysean Campifut (Britonisea)

A very easy and expected match for last year's winner, Aysean Campifut. Despite Kannap coming not far to participate in the competition, the Britonish had experience on their side, and it played out in the first half as Forrest Manhandle scored the first goal at '36 to the erupt of the people in the stadium. Aysean Campifut fans, which came in the masses, started chanting the anthem of Britonisea as those from Kannap, who had a larger attendance in the match yesterday, sat worried, looking at the Britonish celebrate their first win. Manhandle scored yet again after the half time, at '68 minutes, which seemed to seal the fate of Port Stephen Sunshine, where the sun wasn't shining any longer. Aysean Campifut, however, are second in Group E after their impressive win as Torpedo Telgrad pulled over a more convincing win over Marsa FC of the Republic of Maltaland.

GROUP G
Sports Football Club (Britonisea) 1–1 Leones Rojos CF (Havlanca)

A somewhat disappointing match for Sports Football Club, who expected to get through this match easily, after another Britonish tie witht he team from Havlanca. In reality, Sports City was hoping to gain a win over Leones Rojos CF to get a gain over the very strong Group G. Sports Football Club, who reside in Sports City, Luton, scored a goal in the 82nd minute, after trailing behind the Halvancan team after Raúl Cambeiro scored a goal before the half time. Sports Football Club seemed to come back aggressively, though only managed a goal after Jourdain Amédée scored. A sigh of relief was seen from the manager John Burry, as his team did not start the UCL badly.

This year, we have a guide to the teams, and what teams we are expecting to get through to the next round of UCL, and in what order they will go in. Here it is below.

A look at CFE Reyes de Oro's UCL journey thus far
Fans have given off a mixed reception regarding the performance of Havlancan teams

For 2 days now, Havlancan football teams have been participating in the 2017 Ultimaverse Champions League, with fans hoping to see a display of dominance, so that the world can see what Havlanca was capable of achieving on the pitch, however so far, this has generally not been the case. The atmosphere surrounding fan opinions on the performance of Havlancan teams so far, and has flipped expectations on their head, as the teams that were expected to dominate the group stages, are actually lagging far behind in terms of their position on the table. Many fans feel like so far, the performance of Havlancan teams has been awfully sub-par to what they expected.

Assessment: CFE Reyes de Oro
Group A

CFE Reyes de Oro 2–1 Royale Thunder
Alshkan Futballen 1–2 CFE Reyes de Oro

It was common belief that CFE Reyes de Oro would be the Havlancan team that would crash out of the 2017 UCL whilst the other teams dominate, however, this hypothesis has been proven to be bogus, as the Golden Kings sit somewhat comfortably at the top of Group A. Their closest competition, Port Marquis Musketeers FC from Aurevbush, will need to win their next game 3-0 whilst hoping that the Golden Kings lose without scoring, in order to steal their position at the top of the table. Royale Thunder, one of the Kannapian teams, and the Tushlark Superstars, belonging to the host nation of Togonistan, will be facing an uphill battle if they wish to finish top of the group: With 3 more games to play, both teams need all 9 points available to secure the top position. CFE Reyes de Oro can afford to lose 1 game, win 1 and draw 1, and still finish top of the table, depending on the performance of the Port Marquis Musketeers. An unlikely scenario would see Alshkan Futballen win all 4 of their next games (12 points) and finish top of the table, however, this may require some extraordinary luck on their half, and poor performances from the rest of the group.

The first game against Royale Thunder was rather slow, boring, and lacked any real excitement until the 70th minute, as the stalemate ended when a Kannapian striker managed to break through the rigid 4 man defense of Gonzalo San Martín, Ian Correa, Lucho Barrueco and Jesús Tamayo. Goalkeeper Alonzo Arboleda valiantly dived in for the ball and got it off of his feet cleanly, yet, for whatever retarded reason, a penalty was given in favour of Kannap, prompting Havlancan fans to nearly start a riot in the stands as they protested furiously. Left Winger Diego Alejandro Rodríguez was furious and protested to the referee, putting a hand on him and earning himself a yellow card, meanwhile, Correa dragged the Kannapian player off of the floor, and angrily accused him of diving, and as a result, a scuffle broke out between several Havlancan and Kannapian players, prompting the referee to issue several yellow cards to both side. Arboleda got a hand to the ball but was unable to tip it over the crossbar and the ball ended up in the top left corner of the net, putting the Golden Kings 1-0 down. Protests in the stands continued, with Havlancan fans hurling unknown items at Kannapian players, prompting he Golden Kings to appeal for calm so that the game could continue.

As the game continued, Alejandro Rodríguez and Puig made several explosive runs down the wings and lobbed the ball into the box, creating several great chances, however, the 3 forwards failed to capitalize on them until the 84th minute, when Captain De La Cruz struck and amazing volley from 18 yards out after the ball was pinged in by Puig. Chesting the ball down perfectly before striking it with his right foot, the ball was simply unstoppable and shot into the top left corner, bringing the game back to level footing. Morale was raised as the board counted down the time, and the Havlancan midfield worked the ball perfectly, with a combination of short passes, long balls and through balls to overwhelm the Kannapian midfield and defense, who were already clearly tired as the game was in its dying minutes, and were ready to accept a 1-1 draw, however that would not be the case. Soon, Puig bolted down the wing and pinged in the ball, which was met by De La Cruz's head, but instead of heading it towards the goal, he headed it backwards and fooled the keeper into diving, thinking he was going to head it towards the goal. With the keeper already on the floor after his wasted powerful dive, there was nothing he could do as Alejandro Rodríguez struck the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out, bringing the score to 2-1 in favour of the Golden Kings in the 89th minute. The midfield and defensive lines were able to hold out for 3 more minutes until the final whistle blew, earning the Golden Kings their first victory and putting them top of the table in Group A.

Their next match pit them against the Estogiumese side, Alshkan Futballen. The only other Estogiumese side in the tournament, Darlington Shire, had already crashed out 2-0 to Rapid Olonka in their first game and were sitting miserably at the bottom of Group B, thus, the Golden Kings knew that match against Alshkan Futballen would be a bit more challenging due to them not wanting to embarrass their country, with one football team already failing. With morale extremely high from their previous victory, it only took 13 minutes for the first goal to be scored, with Captain De La Cruz one again scoring the first goal for the Golden Kings, with an impressive 17 yard strike that slammed into the top right corner, after a brilliant through ball from Alejandro Rodríguez allowed him to break through the oppositions defensive lines. The rest of the first half remained at a stalemate, with both sides passing the ball up and down the pitch, not wanting to lose possession. De La Cruz, supported by Rodríguez, Illescas and Aparicio, made several attempts to break through the Estogiumese defense but were not able to do so, with the ball being tackled away from their feet every time they tried to do so. With only 30 seconds until half time, an Estogiumese midfielder sent a long ball from the half way line into the box, which managed to find the head of an Estogiumese striker that had nipped in through the Havlancan back four. Arboleda dived the wrong way and the ball hit his feet as he was diving, but it was not enough to force the ball back into or out of play, instead, the ball hit the inner crossbar and pinged back down into the net, ending the first half 1-1.

Immediately as the second half began, the Golden Kings set out to tip the scoreline back in their favour. Several brilliant runs by Rodríguez, De La Cruz and Puig were almost successful, but were cut out at the last second by rather frantic yet valiant Estogiumese defending, however, their luck soon ran out and only 6 minutes after resuming play, in the 51st minute, Central Midfielder Sebastián Lain was able to storm down the left side of the pitch, all the way from the Havlancan goal after an Estogiumese counter-attack had been thwarted, before switching play and pinging a long ball to the feet of Puig, who was then confronted by an Estogiumese defender. Seeing a massive gap in the Estogiumese defence and passed the ball back to Andrés Illesca, who managed to sprint through the gap in the Estogiumese defense and slam the ball into the back of the net from 15 yards out, with the shot simply being too quick and powerful for the keeper to accurately predict where to dive. The Golden Kings enjoyed the most time on the ball after the goal, playing a simple passing game to wear out the Estogiumese side that were already a goal down. Several chances were created Aaron Aparicio and Andrés Illescas, as the balls ended up in the box, however the follow-up volleys and headers from Alejandro Rodríguez, De La Cruz, and Puig, were not enough to conquer the Estogiumese keeper. Alshkan Futballen had a brilliant chance in the 78th minute as a through ball as received well by an Estogiumese forward as they sprinted towards the 18 yard box, however Center Back Lucho Barrueco was able to generate enough speed and acceleration in his run to catch up and launch a heavy tackle, winning the ball at the expense of sending the Estogiumese player tumbling to the grown. Alshkan Futballen furiously protested for a free kick, however, the referee and his linesman were in a good position to see the tackle and were not convinced, and signalled for play to proceed as usual. CFE Reyes de Oro played it safe and continued to pass the ball short, wasting out time, and the game ended 2-1 in their favour, defending their top position.

Meanwhile, the likely favourites to qualify have had a catastrophic opening playing run. Major failures to get the ball up the pitch fast enough resulted in a complete lack of goal scoring opportunities. The 5-3-2 Box Overload formation that allowed the Northern Eagles to dominate throughout their domestic championships failed to prevent or stamp out counter-offensives in the first match, with Kihdite players being able to simply walk through the supposedly rigid defensive lines, which at times ranged from 5 to 7 players, demoralizing the entire team and leaving Goalkeeper Juan Pablo Graciani with little to nothing he could do from stopping the ball from eventually reaching the back of the net, despite several brilliant saves, and the game ended in a measly 2-0 defeat at the hands of Abral FA, that could have been avoided. The problems in the defensive back lines were rectified and during the next game, however there was still a lack of urgency to get the ball forward and this resulted in not nearly enough goal scoaring chances being created, and the ones that were created were sub-par and did not generate any goals. On the other hand, the Northern Eagles successfully thwarted multiple Arioslavian counter-attacks and were able to salvage a point from the measly 0-0 draw, however, they are 3 points behind second placed Rapid Olonka, who seem much more stable and competent. Something will need to change if the Northern Eagles want to qualify for the knock out stages instead of crashing out early.

Assessment: Leones Rojos CF
Group G

Sports Football Club 1–1 Leones Rojos CF

It could be the start of a solid group stage performance from the Red Lions, but alternatively, it could be the start of the a carbon copied failure, going down the same route as the Norte del Havlanca Aguilas are going. Facing the Britonish team, Sports Football Club, the game got off to a slow start but the tempo began to get more exciting as several through balls combined with short passes created a few unique goal scoring opportunities for the Red Lions. Striker Raúl Cambeiro scored a goal in the 37th minute, after the ball was passed through from Captain Camilo Botín, and was shot into the back of the net, despite the Britonish keeper managing to get a slight touch onto it before it managed to end up in the goal. The goal against what many felt was a superior side raised morale on the pitch. Throughout the second half however, the Havlancan offensive flare died out and an aggressive team was forced to go on the defensive, as the Britoniseans made several explosive attempts at levelling the score line. After multiple counter attacks were thwarted, in the 82nd minute, the Britonish were able to level the game out after Jourdain Amédée blitzed his way through the tired and worn out defensive lines and just about managed to beat the keeper. Several more attacks were thwarted, yet the Red Lions could not counter attack and were forced to end the game 1-1, much to the despair of the fans of Leones Rojos CF.

Conclusion

The tables have been well and truly flipped on their head, with the strongest teams performing poorly and the underdogs sitting at the top of the table. Many Havlancans are confused and don't know what to expect, but they are hoping that at least one time qualifies for the knock out stages. Perhaps we are seeing the premature end of the 5-3-2 and 3-4-1-2 formations dominance, that managed to sweep their way across Havlancan football and find their way in to every mangers good books, and the return of the dreaded 4-3-3 formation, or perhaps they are just being put through their phases. One thing is for sure though, if Leones Rojos CF and Norte del Havlanca Aguilas CF do not get their act together, continue being a disgrace to their country's sporting legacy, and crash out of the tournament, and CFE Reyes de Oro maintains their strong performance, domestic football in Havlanca will have to brace for an abrupt change in the status quo that many people will not like.

ESTOGIAN TEAMS FOR THE ULTIMAVERSE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2017

ALSHKAN FUTBALLEN
Skill Modifier: +2

Alshkan Futballen is the most successful Estogian team in the RU Football League, and is hoping to make a come back, in order to qualify to the next round.

Name of Team: Alshkan Futballen
Home Stadium: Halvenhalve Stadium (26,000)
Home Area: Alshkan, East Estogium
Manager: Norte Kingsman

Colours for UCL 2017: Orange and Blue
Group Draw for UCL 2017: Group A
Stadium for UCL 2017: Tushlark Stadium, Tushlark (30,000)

Times won the RU Football League: 2 ('94, '14)
Current League Position 2017: 3rd (Highest position 1st)

Alshkan Futballen is another one of the few most successful teams in the RU Football League. In fact, Alshkan Futballen won the first ever championships, back in '94, after winning 2-0 to Ice FC. Alshkan is a team that always manages to qualify to the knock out stages - or at least come very close to it, and is the team that is the flagship for Estogium in football. Alshkan Futballen, after 20 years, won again against Sports Football, and were highly praised for their win. Never has Alshkan Futballen come second in the RU Football League, but, at least the team is on form going in to the championships.

Starters
Goalkeeper: Warren Trigg (Sal Lipson)
Defenders: Raleigh Snapp, Rhett Maughan, Willard Grote
Midfielders: Erwin Large, Charles Harpe, Alton Mleczko
Forwards: Lonny Housman, Filiberto Solomon, Truman Hogge

Bench: Terrell Mechling, Chester Mineo, Byron Haskin, Rico Rueter, Lewis Kerman

DARLINGTON SHIRE
Skill Modifier: -3

Darlington Shire is another Estogium team, who qualified to come to the competition after a very good 2017 season. Here is their roster.

Name of Team: Darlington Shire FC
Home Stadium: Darlington Football Stadium (50,000)
Home Area: Darlington, Estogium
Manager: William Morris-Hague

Colours for UCL 2017: Yellow and Black
Group Draw for UCL 2017: Group B
Stadium for UCL 2017: Arefield Park, Hawkston (16,000)

Times won the RU Football League: 0
Current League Position 2017: 5th (Highest position 2nd; 2012)

Darlington Shire is probably the most surprising of all the qualified teams from the RU Football League, as it is the only team out of the five that is yet to win an RU League, and only came 5th this season. Some people thought that this team took the space away from other Britonish teams like Doporlions or even The Grad FC, from Estogium. Darlington Shire did come 2nd place in 2012, after losing out to The Dark Saviours in a weird final - none of the two teams had won anything. Darlington Shire is looking to make an impact in this Champions League.

Starters
Goalkeeper: Jamey Ives (Columbus Coney)
Defenders: Rene Rehberg, Virgilio Weitzman, Errol Boster
Midfielders: Jason Ellenwood, Cornell Weems, Alfonzo Ureno
Forwards: Guillermo Marquette,Walker Steinbach, Palmer Criswell

Bench: Garret Hitt, Josue Mackiewicz, Samuel Klingler, Leif Huizar, Nathanael Ryder

RP PERMISSIONS

FC ANKONTRUM OFF TO A WINNING START

While Caucarusian team PSCA Quormaz are struggling at the bottom Group H after two games with just one point, FC Ankontrum are off to a victorious start, defeating Port Stephen Sunshine 2-0.

For the opening 30 minutes of the game, the two sides looked evenly matched, with both teams enjoying their fair share of chances. The first real goal scoring opportunity came to FC Ankontrum in the 17th minute, with striker Rostom Toreli failing to hit the target following a beautifully weaved through ball from Darsalia.

In the last ten minutes of the half, FC Ankontrum started to look like the more dominant team by keeping pressure on Port Stephen Sunshine and maintaining possession for long durations. In the 42nd minute, centre-mid Magsudov launched a long-ranged shot goal bound, with the keeper at full stretch to impressively bend the ball round the post.

Kazbegi stepped up to take the corner kick, swerving the ball in to the box to be met by the head of centre-back Sevag Assayan, who then powered the ball into the back of the net, making the score 1-0 to FC Ankontrum. Shortly after, the ref blew for half-time, with the wind thoroughly in FC Ankontrum's sails.

The second half started much like the first, with both teams pushing for opportunities. At the hour mark, Port Stephen Sunshine briefly celebrated a goal, following a fantastic lob of keeper Daniel Jaqeli; however the linesman rightly called the chance offside.

A quarter of an hour later, Vazrig Sibrian powered down the left flank, darting deep into Port Stephen's half. Noticing the daring run of Vadim Zaminli, Sibrian launched the ball into the path of him. Zaminli demonstrated sleek footwork to skilfully beat two defenders before striking the ball with his left foot, swerving the ball into the top left corner, making the score 2-0.

For the remainder of the game, FC Ankontrum played defensively and worked tactically to preserve their victory and secure their first three points of the competition. After the ref blew for full-time, a jubilant roar was heard from the travelling FC Ankontrum fans, and pubs all across Caucarus hosted scenes of celebrations following the positive start to the tournament.

It is no doubt manager Datev Gazanian will want this good form to continue, as his team prepare for the upcoming matches in hope to make it past the group stages. PSCA Quormaz manager Zakir Panahov will certainly be having firm words with his players in an attempt to turn their poor start to the tournament around.

THE BRITONISH TEAMS ARE HANGING ON

The second day of the UCL was not very different from the first day. It seems as though the Champions League has been plagued by draws, which makes the Britonish Football Association wonder when the Togonistanians didn't include a penalty shoot-out at the end of each match, if they ended in a draw. Britonish teams sees themselves all with two matches played, well in the danger zone of other teams. Will the Britonish cling on?

Group D
CSKA Telgrad (Arioslavia) 0–2 Norwaege Campifut (Britonisea)

This was a very interesting match between the Arioslavian team and the Britonish team. Coming in to the championships, it seemed as though all of the Arioslavian teams were on form, but it looks like CSKA Telgrad isn't as good as their compatriots Torpedo. The Britonish team smothered them with glory, after scoring twice during the match against them. The first match saw one of the quickest goals so far in the championships. In the first 10 minutes, the ball flew pass S. Onopkin, the Arioslavian goalkeeper, scored by Ron Xander. The next goal came near the end of the match, after Kristoffer German scored during the 88th minute, securing a Britonish win, and after minutes of celebration, the final whistle blew.

GROUP E
Aysean Campifut (Britonisea) 1–1 Marsa FC (Republic of Maltaland)

The best Britonish team, Aysean Campifut, did not win their match against Marsa FC, rivals from the Republic of Maltaland. The 6 time RU League winners managed to come back down from a goal down after the Republic of Maltaland scored during the first half of the match. After 63 minutes of the match, it looked like Aysean Campifut were about to accept defeat, as their possession of the ball dropped from 45% at the start of the match, to around 24%. However, after a goal at '72 saw Aysean Campifut equalise with the team from Maltaland, these percentages significantly increased. "The Republic of Maltaland is a very quiet country," stated Jake Thorpe, a defender for Aysean Campifut, "But on the pitch, they are not going to be the quiet and lethal ones, no. If we can't win against them, we will at least equalise, and I think we have an awesome chance of going through to the next round...What do you think?"

GROUP G
FC Hawkston (Togonistan) 1–1 Sports Football Club (Britonisea)

FC Hawkston of Togonistan played against Sports Football Club. The Sports Football Club didn't have the crowd on their side as those from Togonistan cheered on for their own. However, despite all of this, Sports Football club was the first to score after the half time, at '56 minutes. Lukas Amédée matched his brother, who scored yesterday, and scored bringing Sports Football Club up 1-0. However, minutes after, at '59 minutes, Togonistan's FC Hawkston came back to not win. The eruption in the small stadium was like a final of a major tournament. The match ended at 1-1, adding on to the disappointing climaxes this UCL has faced so far.

We look forward to the next few days, looking whether Sports Football Club can make a come back, and we will also be rooting for our Estogian friends as both of their teams are at the bottom of their groups.

UCL 2017 THUS FAR
UCL 2017 has been off to a hectic start, with fans from all across the globe sinking their teeth into the unpredictable action. Lahibar's teams (Ridahwit United and Halaroh City), are currently both sitting pretty in second of their respective groups; however that is all subject to change as matchday 5 approaches.

Firstly, in Group C, Ridahwit United earned their first win of the competition, beating The Refugees 1-0, following a dramatic 89th minute winner from forward al-Faris. This victory launched United into second of Group C; however all other teams do have a game in hand, meaning it now a matter of waiting to see if they have done enough to qualify.

Halaroh City have one more game to play in Group F, with a victory likely to seal their qualification to the knock-out stage. However, manager Ikram Bahri is taking nothing for granted. Speaking to the press he said: 'we are going into this final game like our lives depend on it. We are determined to do ourselves proud.' In their most recent game, Halaroh City beat Al-Nassr FC 1-0, with a Salah penalty in the 57th minute enough to grant the team the win.

Overall, the Lahibari teams still have the opportunity to progress further in this competition. While Ridahwit United have to now leave it down to fate to decide their future in the competition, Halaroh City still have everything to play for, and will go into their final game against Karapu W'Paro Cleaca determined to secure a victory.

DO THE CAUCARUSIAN TEAMS HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The prospects of both competing Caucarusian teams do not look the best entering the final game of the group stage; however can FC Ankontrum and PSCA Quormaz turn their run of form around? Both teams are currently sat on 4 points after 3 games played, with FC Ankontrum in 4th of Group E, and PSCA Quormaz in 3rd of Group H.

FC Ankontrum's most recent game was a lacklustre draw with Arioslavian side Torpedo Telgrad, with FC Ankontrum unable to hang on to their early lead via an impressive Magsudov free-kick. The teams final game is against group leaders and last years champions, Aysean Campifut. The odds are indeed stacked against FC Ankontrum; however they have been known to defy the odds in the past - could this be another such occasion? Manager Datev Gazanian seems to think so, confidently praising his team in tonight's post match interview.

While PSCA Quormaz were initially ridiculed for their poor start to their UCL 2017 campaign, a hard-won 3-2 victory against Kannapolis Wildfires has turned everything on its head. An injury time winner from striker Valeh Babayev was enough to earn the team's first three points, sending the fans in the stadium crazy. Their final game against Valletta FC alone wont decide their fate, with the result of the Aeutikiva MFC vs Antakiyan National FA just as important. It is no doubt fans of PSCA Quormaz will be hoping for a draw in that fixture!

Both Caucarusian teams still have a lot to prove; however there is no doubt they are determined to give it their in all in what could well be their final performance of UCL 2017. Fans across the country, as well as those travelling in Togonistan, will have their fingers crossed in hope that their team makes it to the knock-out stages! Don't forget to tune into tomorrows action, only on CTN SPORTS 2.

SHOCK BREAKING NEWS: SPORTS FOOTBALL CLUB CAN NO LONG QUALIFY

We have had confirmation from our Togonistanian friends that Sports Football Club can no longer qualify to the knock out stages of the UCL 2017, and therefore they are out of the running to win the UCL 2017 trophy. Sports Football Club becomes the first RU League team to get knocked out, after people thought that the Estogian teams would crumble first. The poor loss against Zenit Neuburg sees them being the only team that hasn't won a single match in the team.

The match was watched by just under a million viewers in Britonisea, and though it was not the most watched match yesterday, the match did cause a lot upset, after Sports FC was lost two goals to Zenit Neuburg, who were the losers of the group. Sports FC did have a chance to qualify to the next round based on the fact no teams seem to have won more than one match, and the points compared to other groups being very low. For a very powerful football club like Sports Football Club, it seems as though this was a shock, not only to Britonish fans, but to the Arioslavians - who still have a chance to qualify - but this is of low chance. Sports Football Club has played all of their matches so far, and are expected to leave Togonistan today or tomorrow, so that the team can home to their families before getting ready to start playing again, and preparing for the next World Cup, which rumour has it, Britonisea is set to participate in, as well as other international competitions.

No sports team likes to be the first one out, but, it seems that Sports Football Club is just that! Let's have a look at all of the other teams and how they did!

Group D
Norwaege Campifut (Britonisea) 0–3 Al-Etihad FC (Al-Khaleej)

Interestingly, only yesterday we were confident that that Norwaege Campifut had this one in the bank. Them being placed at 3rd two days ago was a god-sent, as they had one of the least amount of plays, and therefore they could pass the rest of the group. However, after yesterday's result against Al-Etihad FC, everything seems to have changed for Norwaege. The Britonish Public seemed a bit stunned after Sports Football Club lost their match against Zenit Neuburg of Arioslavia, but this was salt in the wound for the Britonish public. The result of this match saw many people take to twitter and facebook to complain about how the Al-Etihad needs to be checked, in case they were apart of a state sponsored doping scandal - however, this only came from the public, deeply bitter after the Al-Khaliji team left the Norwaegians limping for the changing rooms.

Dhaakir el-Ashraf was the first one to break the silence in the stadium, scoring the first goal for Al-Khaleej at '38. This shocked the Norwaege camp, which made them play more aggressively. However, it seems as though this only managed to put the Britonish team off course, as they started missing easy pass-overs, and totally flopping chances to score. Straight after the half time, at '49, striker Zubair al-Pour scored a goal, putting the Al-Khaleej team 2-0. There was a moment of silence as the team looked at the "1" turn to a "2," with Évrard Oswald being seen to console Jake Thorpe, who had a chance to block the second goal, but didn't. The Britonish team had very good stats from that point on, and their possession of the ball increased.

However, this was just not enough, with the Britonish team being shocked once again after Miqdaad al-Jamail scored at '79. With eleven minutes, scoring three times looked like a battle they were just not going to win. With the stadium seeming to turn against the Britonish team, and favouring the strong Al-Khaliji team, the Britonish Norwaege Campifut team gave up with their pursuit to reach the top of the table. The final whistle was blown, and the opposition team cheered loudly, after defeating the unbeatable Britons. Sending shockwaves through the world of football, strong words came from the manager of Norwaege Campifut team; "We will rise once again, and unlike Al-Khaleej, we have another match. While they have secured their place in the knock out match, we need to now garner ours."

Had the shoe been on the other foot, Norwaege winning over Al-Khaleej's Al-Etihad would have seen 7 points given to our team, and we would have been automatic qualifiers, as Al-Etihad would have been left with 5 points - waiting for Bearbay Stingers' next match against, what will be, CSKA Telgrad. FC Power, from Togonistan, will be playing against Norwaege Campifut today. What is needed from Norwaege is a win, hoping that Bearbay Stingers FC doesn't win. If the team from Aurevbush wins their match, this will put Britonisea's chances of having two teams qualifying to bed. "Norwaege are quaking in their boots, right now." says Georgina Jaron, a sports correspondent from Britonisea's BVC News. "The match against Al-Etihad destroyed their chances. Bearbay? They are playing against CSKA Telgrad, who has not even one a single match yet. It looks like the Aurevbushans will qualify. If Bearbay draws, however, this would be fantastic news to Norwaege. All they have to do is win. But even this is looking like a battle for them."

Wish luck to Norwaege Campifut, they will need it. Britonisea and Estogium's time in this league has been far from plain sailing. Though, moving on to Group E, where Aysean Campifut is, we see our Britonish team leading the ranks. Aysean Campifut did not play yesterday, but is sure to have been watching.

Group E
FC Ankontrum (Caucarus) 1–1 Torpedo Telgrad (Arioslavia)

Focusing on our next competitors, FC Ankontrum from Caucarus, who still has the chances to beat Aysean Campifut, the winners of the league 2016.

Aysean Campifut is set to play FC Ankontrum, from Caucarus. There is a major push for this team, as they think they have what it takes to beat Aysean Campifut, and whilst the Britonish team should be confident, they aren't. A draw with the Caucarussian team will confidently secure Aysean's place in the knock-out stages of the competition, but the team's leader from Caucarus seems to be confident on their team gaining a top placing tonight. The Britonish Public are 100% behind Aysean Campifut, and think they can pull it out of the bag.

The current situation in Group E is very messed up, and this is mostly because of the amount of points that has been given out. Marsa FC has 7 points, and are currently in second place. However, if they have played a total of 4 times - meaning they have to nervously wait to see whether they have qualified to the next round. Marsa FC is hoping for Aysean Campifut to win against FC Ankontrum, and Port Stephen Sunshine to beat Torpedo Telgrad, but the odds are stacked against the Kannapian team. Now, if FC Ankontrum ends up winning against Aysean Campifut, they will be in contention to qualify. There is a problem though. The Goals Against for FC Ankontrum is 3 for FC Ankontrum, Marsa FC but 4 for the team from Britonisea. Ignoring the result against Torpedo Telgrad and Port Stephen Sunshine, if FC Ankontrum will beat Marsa FC to the top 2, based on tiebreak rules, and Aysean Campifut will still qualify, but as the runner ups.

The thing is, if Torpedo Telgrad wins, they might push Aysean Campifut to third place as their Goals For will be 5 or more. This means the tiebreak lies between FC Ankontrum and Aysean Campifut. In order for Ankontrum to fully qualify, it needs to score 2 more goals than the total amount of goals scored by Aysean Campifut. In the event of Aysean loosing, or looking as though they will lose, they will need to make sure that the gap between the two scores remains as small as possible.

Let's just say that this match will be very difficult to watch, but it is expected that his match will have the highest viewership from the whole league.

Group A & B
Alshkan Futballen (Estogium) 2–1 Port Marquis Musketeers FC (Aurevbush)
Floriana FC (Republic of Maltaland) 0–1 Darlington Shire (Estogium)

Despite failing efforts from Alshkan Futballen and Darlington Shire of Estogium, being mocked for being last, Alshkan Futballen and Darlington Shire still both have the chance to qualify - but they will have to play exceptionally well today. In Group A, while CFE Reyes de Oro has already qualified, there is still a spot available. Places #3 and #5, held by the Tushlark Superstars and Royale Thunder, teams from Togonistan and Kannap respectively has been confirmed to not be able to come back from their loses. This means Alshkan Futballen and Port Marquis Musketeers are looking for that second place needed to get through to the next round. In order for this to happen, Port Marquis Musketeers FC will need to lose their match. If Port Marquis Musketeers lose their match against the current group leaders, CFE Reyes de Oro, this 100% opens the doors for Alshkan Futballen. It is expected that the team from Havlanca will beat the team from Aurevbush. In the case of this happening, Port Marquis Musketeers FC will have 6 points. If Alshkan Futballen beats Royale Thunder, who is yet to win a match, they will come 2nd in the full ranks, based on beating Port Marquis both on Goals for and GD - which will be their saving grace. All they need to do is win and the Aurevbushans lose.

The story is somewhat the same for Darlington Shire. The second place is held by Rapid Olonka, who is in grave danger. Up next, playing against Darlington Shire, is the team that is yet to lose - from Kihdis - it is Abral FA. The odds are stacked against Abral FA, but the Estogians are not that convinced. Whether the Kihdites win or lose, they will qualify, so they could just give it to Darlington - no? Either way, if the Estogians win, they will gain 6 points, and go through to the next round. Easy? Not really. Norte del Havlanca Aguilas CF, from Havlanca, will need to lose or draw in their match. If the Havlancans lose or draw, they will open the door for Darlington Shire.

The Britonish and Estogians are relying on the matches to see whether they will qualify or not. Lets hope everything goes in favour for us!
