National Team Selection for the 78th World Cup

The Amalen, the proud people inhabiting Kel Assuk, have a long history of competition through sport, including several native forms of wrestling, camel racing, and spear-throwing. But the Amalen have only been introduced to football fairly recently, with the 1970s and a wave of internationalization spreading through the land, and the sport has not been popular in the nation, due to the nomadic nature of the Amalen's traditional lifestyle being unable to sustain much participation in the sport, but in 2008, a fledgling league began to take off, with 6 sides from the nation's three cities, and the sport began to grow in popularity. Now, in 2017, the KASB has decided that its team is ready to compete internationally in the Independents' Cup.

MANAGERIAL STAFF

MANAGER:

Eric Desmond Desmond is a bit of a wild card manager. Young (for a manager) and ambitious, he stuck with Kings Park of Schottia for several seasons and did well with them, but a poor start last year sealed his fate and he was let go by the club. Although his lack of experience compared to other managers may be his downfall, he is flexible and adaptable; the KABS considered him the perfect candidate to manage their fledgling, underdog side.

ASSISTANT MANAGER:

Amezwar Sellami, 38 Sellami is raw and inexperienced but energetic and eager. Currently a manager with the nation's best side, Axxuten Adel Bagrou, the KABS has appointed Sellami as an understudy and assistant manager to provide the young manager with an opportunity to study from a more experienced hand as well as an ability to give manager Desmond a perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of his players.

1. GK Aksil Saidi-Sief, 21 |

Northampton
A close second to Karim Khattabi, Saidi-Sief has strong reflexes and a good court coverage; only problem, he's not Khattabi, and as such, was relegated to second-string goalkeeper for Kel Assuk's first two international tournaments. With Khattabi's poorer performance in Spaam, and his improvement with Northampton, as well as that team's good performance in the Terranean League, have convinced Eric Desmond to promote Saidi-Sief to first string goalkeeper ahead of Khattabi.

2. RB Usem Ouyahia, 28 |

Tamadalt IT
One of the more experienced backs in Kel Assuk, Ouyahia, left-footed, is the clear choice for right back, having been playing in the league on an amateur basis since it was founded 11 years ago. He enjoys the game, and he's motivated to work hard, too.

3. CB Ziri Neqrouz, 23 |

FC Marandet
Neqrouz complements his partner Othmani in a couple of ways; he's left footed while Othmani is right footedm and a more defensive focus as opposed to a more offensive focus; Neqrouz is quite speedy as well. This means that the centre-back pairing of the two is quite effective, as it allows the team to be more flexible when defending to achieve their aims better.

4. CB Amanar Othmani, 22 |

Amalen Ijida
Othmani, while complementing his partner Neqrouz, also maintains excellent passing accuracy and a good rapport with the midfield, so he can move the ball up the field if it's necessary, and he's very good at keeping an eye on the field and figuring out what's going on so he can position himself in the best place. Most importantly, he has a strong relationship with his partner Neqrouz, and they help complement each other's strengths and weaknesses.

5. LB Massin Azergui, 25 |

Tin Hinan IT Abalessa
Azergui, as a left back, has the tendency to move up to support the midfield, particularly Ait Ahmed, who plays right footed on the left like himself; nevertheless, he has proven himself to be pretty adept at the man-to-man defense proposed by manager Desmond, and his stamina allows him to make both offensive and defensive moves, giving him a modicum of versatility.

6. DM Anaruz M'Hidi, 29 |

Armed Forces FC
M'Hidi, a former Army colonel, has the attitude, and presence, of an army veteran; of the national team, he has the highest stamina and physical fitness. That's why he's a good fit for the defensive midfield position, which requires him to move quite a bit around the pitch, holding up the midfield from any stray attacking runs.

7. CM Mohammed Hasnaoui, 26 |

Armed Forces FC
Hasnaoui is a credible backup to Ait Ahmed, but his partnership with M'Hidi at Armed Forces has really blossomed; when he's not heading into the attack as a semi-playmaker, most often acting to get the ball to Ait Ahmed or Khalej, he's working to patrol the defense with M'Hidi, giving the defensive lineup a bit more bulk.

8. CM Seyni Ait Ahmed (C), 27 |

Ait Ahmed is the key to the entire strategy of the national team; he is the center distributor and playmaker of the team, and he holds the team together in the midfield. He has a natural talent; on the mental side, some steely composure and a good wit, as well as a good story or two for when the team is traveling or in downtime.

9. AM Saden Khalej, 19 |

Longtails
Khalej is a hot prospect, recognized by all who know him as a potential superstar. The only problem is, Kel Assuk is probably not the best place for him to develop as a player. He has typical characteristics of a star attacking midfielder: good passing, dribbling, and shooting all around, except that he needs a lot of development. To that end, he moved to the Cenian side Longtails, which he could hope to facilitate some improvement.

10. RW Ashur Ben Hassi, 20 |

Ashur Ben Hassi recently moved to 1860 Azoth, and that club has really sharpened his attacking skills; those skills showed during the 3rd-place campaign in the recent Baptism of Fire, as manager Desmond has increasingly relied on Ben Hassi to finish off balls. He really does have the skills to finish off balls, especially on set pieces such as corner kicks and off passes into the penalty area. With these improved skills, Desmond has promoted Ben Hassi to starter in order to help the team's attacking potential.

11. LW Isula Azellay, 19 |

Northampton
Azellay's move to Northampton has helped to improve his attacking skills, and especially his drive up the wings to get balls to his strike partner Ben Hassi. This partnership has been extremely effective in the Baptism of Fire, as Azellay has been able to hit over 90% of his passes to Ben Hassi from a good position on the wings, creating opportunities to allow Ben Hassi to finish off things. He's also worked well with Saden Khalej, and this young attacking trio has proven very capable of getting balls into the goal.

His stamina is also pretty good, which allows him to go through defenses and create openings for Feraoun and Khalej to get in and score.

Feraoun has a play-finishing instinct, an ability to be in the right place at the right time to just get the ball in the goal. He's an effective punch in the 1-2 play or the 3-man play, with Arazi, Khalej, or Ait Ahmed as the play starters; however, his passing and dribbling could be improved for a more effective striker.

Trevelyan made history in 2014 by becoming the first Eastham-born (she has dual citizenship) woman to play in Eastham’s top tier, IslandLeague One, and since then she’s excelled at every challenge she’s faced. A strong playmaker from everywhere on the pitch, quick and agile enough to set up her own chances; decent enough at finishing to score off said chances, but also versatile enough to play as a False Nine. Trevelyan may play in the Sekundar Ligan, but she’s one of the most underrated players on this team.
#10 - ST - Ansel PENBROOKE - Bishop (NPH) - 30 [VC]
Considered the heir to Cartwright’s throne, Penbrooke has set milestone after milestone. Patistan offered him forty million dollars and he declined to head over to one of the best youth teams in the world. Penbrooke is very athletic, and maturation in Apox, Vilita, and now Nephara have turned his potential and talent into a top-notch striker. Expected to continue leading the line for years to come.
#22 - ST - Axel KORBORG - Whitehaven Triumph (CEN) - 23
Korborg proved a polarizing figure at Capitals despite scoring ten goals in twenty-one matches, and many were glad to see him leave for three million dollars to Ceni's Whitehaven, where he plans to spend the next few years honing his craft. While still a bit unpolished, he looked good in both the SuperLleague and in Ceni. Known for prolific finishing, especially backheels. Very athletic but quite selfish and a handful for Curtis Steeling off the pitch.
#35 - FW - Francis MANDELBROT - New Llama Stars - 32
Found by a New Llama scout lighting up the lower tiers of the Quebecois leagues, Francis Mandelbrot is poised to become one of the stars of the SuperLleague. Mandelbrot is fast and very flashy, often using a number of trick moves during matches. As a winger, he specializes in low, hard crosses - as a striker, he’s a clean and tidy finisher. Should surprise, especially considering that he's been the most prolific scorer in the entire SuperLleague.
#36 - ST/RW - Carsten VINCENT - New Llama Stars - 23
Vincent is a top-notch winger who scored eleven goals in twenty league games in his first full season with Stars - the twenty-one-year-old has an excellent finishing touch and is known for his athleticism. Could break into the starting lineup very soon.
#47 - ST - Isabella SHI - Easthaven Centurion - 21
A rising star for the U21 team, but it was Shi’s performances during Centurion’s magical cup semifinals run that sealed her spot on the national team. A polished goalscorer with an excellent passing and finishing touch - it was her left foot that then propelled Easthaven to SBCC qualification. She’s a little unathletic, but if she can improve her conditioning, she’ll be starting for the Tigers in no time.

Formation: 5-4-1

Although it’s often referred to as a 3-4-3, manager Qiu Hanying's tactics use more of a 5-2-3 or 5-4-1 formation. The wingbacks will send themselves back at the slightest hint of danger, making the team difficult to score on but also limiting the Red Dragons’ ability to create chances. They flank a solid core of three central defenders, one of which is given free license to push forwards, assist the midfield, and make plays. The central midfielders run hard, win balls back, and occasionally head in a few goals, but neither is the greatest creative influence on the pitch. That’s mostly done by the wide midfielders/wingers, who are also tasked with servicing the team’s mercurial strikers. It’s the best that can be done considering the talent level of the Red Dragons. But it’s fairly underwhelming in action.

GOALKEEPERS

#01 - WEI Haidong - 27 - Nangang Royals

He’s not very old, but Wei Haidong has already become a club legend for Nangang. Making his first-team debut at the age of eighteen and becoming an established starter by nineteen, Wei has amassed over three hundred appearances for his club. Can he become the same player for the Red Dragons? He certainly has the physical talent needed - his play is marked by fantastic reflexes and athleticism - but although he’s very vocal off the pitch, he’s not exactly a leader on it, and he does make the occasional gaffe on set-pieces.

#12 - LI Weifeng - 25 - Beian City
#23 - JIA Xiaobin - 34 - FC Haidong

Li Weifeng is impressive enough on his own, but although the diminutive keeper rarely makes mistakes, he’s not exactly the shot-stopper Wei is. Still, the Beian keeper is an excellent backup. As for Jia Xiaobin, the veteran who’s played for five different clubs is mostly around for depth.

Not the most talented defense you’ll ever see, but they’re organized well, and they do have their bright spots. The biggest bright spot of all would be fearless captain Han Ruoyang in the center of the defense. Ruoyang is not only a fantastic defender, but also quick and an adept playmaker who likes to drift forwards. Still, he’s a great leader of the defense, and helps it stay stable even while going forward. On either side of him are two nondescript but solid center-backs - Wang Wuying and Jin Guiyu are both decent in the air and athletic enough to get by, but neither is a huge talent. On the left side, Tan Ming is a converted center-back with the conservative playstyle to match, but he’s excellent at intercepting passes and disrupting opposing offenses. Wu Yong on the right is more of a traditional wingback who’s very capable of bombing forwards, although he’s weaker on defense than other options.

A solid assortment of backup options. All eyes will be on teenage prodigy Lin Wangming, who at eighteen has forced his way into a starting spot and could start as soon as WC79. Still, the other players are strong as well. Deng is a more physical center-back options who could be used to close out a game, the veteran Ma is a Swiss Army Knife who can do a mediocre job at any role given to him, and Fan Xiaopeng is an attacking option at either wing-back position who could come in for Tan if the Red Dragons are chasing goals.

MIDFIELDERS

#07 - GUO Zexi - 24 - Beian City

Central midfield could be an offensive weakness of this team. Zhang Zhenya and Zhao Lianbang have their strengths - running hard, winning balls back, making interceptions, helping out on defense - but neither is exactly a major factor on the attack (although Zhang has a penchant for inexplicable screamers, and Zhao is a very strong player in the air). The Red Dragons will rely heavily on their wingers to make plays and score goals - but are they up to the challenge? Guo Zexi is the fastest player on the team and a very skilled dribbler and passer, while Huang Shenan is a more experienced, direct winger. However, Guo is lacking in end product, while Huang often struggles in a playmaking role, making both of them question marks.

The team doesn’t exactly have a strong midfield, and there isn’t much in terms of backups, either. Tao Long and Peng Xiaoli are two very popular midfielders and leaders and legends of their respective clubs - but at a combined age of sixty-seven, they’re basically only usable as impact subs. On the wings, Xie Xueyi is young, talented, and athletic, but is simply too unpolished to stand a chance against tougher opposition. Meanwhile, Gu Yang is more experienced, but injuries have sapped his athleticism and he’s not really an option. If either starting winger is injured, the Red Dragons may have to change formation entirely.

STRIKERS

#09 - CHEN Huikang - 33 - Nangang Royals

Chen was an utter legend for Nangang, but is he too old to start for the national team? Once a complete striker, multiple injuries have turned him into more of a poacher - although with his shooting touch, he’s a very good one. Still, this may not be the right system for the 33-year-old. Will the legendary goal-scorer thrive in qualifiers, or will he struggle to find chances?

#20 - FU Xi - 23 - Yincheng Capitals
#22 - JIAWEI Sangu - 30 - Mükiazhou Athletic

In fact, it’s led to many to criticize Qiu for starting Chen over Jiawei Sangu, who’s scored 278 goals over eleven seasons with Mükiazhou. The Sangauese striker has consistently been a force to be reckoned with in the domestic league, and more importantly, he’s a complete striker who can find his own chances, create opportunities for others, and fit much better into an offense that needs that sort of player. The young Fu Xi deserves a few starts as well. He’s more of a false-nine who has played a leading role in Yincheng’s rise to relevance, and could start in the future.

About the Union of Socialist Alpine Republics

History

Football is played in Prusy Krolewskie since the beginning of the 20th century. Prusy Krolewskie's first international games were in the baptism of fire 59, the Reprezentacja Pruski finished 2nd in group F and lost to Santaclausisgodistan in round of 16. In the World Cup 72 qualifications, Prusy Krolewskie finished fifth in group 5 with a 5-3-6 record. Prusy Krolewskie was then missing in action until we come back for the XI olympiads and the World Cup 76 where we finished 6th in group 6 with a 2-2-8 record. Prusy Krolewskie was invited at the Cup of Harmony and did very poorly. Then, the Reprezentacja Pruski participated in the 1st Independents Cup, for nations outside of the big three regions, but had a bad tournamant either. Prusy Krolewskie tried to qualify for the World Cup 77 and failed, but still had a pretty good run, enough to crack the top 100 in the KPB rankings and recieve an invitation to the Cup of Harmony 69. Prusy Krolewskie finished 3rd in its group with a 0-2-1 record.

In 2018, every nations in North Eurasia formed a superstate called Union of Soclialist Alpine Republics. The Alpine Union inherited Prusy Krolewskie's rank and participated in the Independents Cup II but lost all three games.

Venues:

The Union of Socialist Alpine Republics is a large nation composed with 30 republics which are semi-independent and have their own laws. Let's take nudity as an example, it's strictly prohibited in some republics, not encouraged but not prohibited in some others and nudity is encouraged in just one of the republics: The Republic of Southern Virgin islands, the place settled by hippies in the '70s where one can party 24/24 . And guess what, our home game against Jeruselem will be played in that republic, despite it doesn't have a suitable soccer field with international standards.

Each foreign team will sleep in a Herriott Hotel which has a partnership with the Alpine Football Association (AFA). Please do not confuse Herriott Hotels with Mariot's Rugby Club based in Roxburgh, Republic of Caledonia. Every host city but Frederiksted, Southern Virgin Islands has a subway or a rapid rail system and lots of restaurants and activities to do. The Southern Virgin Islands has an obsolete bus system that goes around the island once in the morning and once in the evening. The islands have some restaurants, nightclubs, beaches and relaxed laws. Well no laws at all.

Veteran coach David Chettwell has been with the Schottia team for the best part of fifteen years, and is well known to the current crop of players - he was one of the few coaches to keep his place after the post WC75 purge. Joining him are coaches Judy Scott and Conner Watts. Scott, currently at New Island, as previously been a manager at U15 and has already worked with many of the current squad. Watts, who recently took over at Hillstreet, also brings a lot of managerial experience to the set-up. Goal keeping coach Peter Acheson remains in place, and Physio Claire Hanson- Conavacio (wife of the Quebecois international) was brought back in after previously being realised by Barry Gorman over a decade ago.

Team history
Barry Gorman era
Not so much a tale of ups and downs, Schottia's history in the World Cup competitions has been one of very slow progress. Since Barry Gorman took over a side ranked outside the world's top 300, which had just finished WC68 with a grand total of 0-points, the Auks have seen their fortunes steadily improve. The small nation of six-and-a-half-million gave a very good account of themselves under his stewardship and it was in this era that we saw them first adopt their now familiar 4-2-3-1 formation. Schottia finished sixth of eight in their group as they tried to reach the finals of WC69 in his first year in charge, qualifying for the Cup of Harmony, where they recorded a surprise win over Mizuyuki. The subsequent rise up the world rankings saw them finish third, fourth, third in WC70, 71, and 72 respectively, as they established themselves as one of the world's mid-ranked sides. Schottia put in some plucky performance over the years, and there was little doubt that it was Gorman who had made the difference, seemingly able to dig deep and get something extra out of the country's small pool of players. It was also during this period (immediately prior to WC70) that Schottia won the Di Bradini Cup, and that golden generation of youngsters has slowly began to make their mark on the senior squad.

Despite being the one to galvanise the team, Barry Gorman's position as manager became more and more difficult. After a series of wild promises and statements of overconfidence, he constantly succeeded in building up the fans' expectations, and creating a rod for his own back. In the end it was no doubt this bravado, coupled with a lacklustre qualification campaign in WC72, which saw the SFA decline to offer him a new contract. He did go on to lead the side to the knockout stages of the Cup of Harmony for the first time, however it wasn't enough, and as the side limped out after a heavy defeat to Nova Anglicana, it was to be the 47-year-old's last act in charge.

Jane Gullie era
After their Cup of Harmony exit, Schottia was standing at a bit of a crossroads. Managerless, and despite reaching the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time, it was abundantly clear that they were a million miles off the pace. From a shortlist of five candidates, Jane Gullie emerged as the most suitable option, and was handed the job over the likes of caretaker Grant Nean, and Schottic DBC hero Jock Sonny. Gullie had made a name for herself after lifting the SPL title with New Belfast Warriors, and was commended for her style of man-management and balanced tactics, which the board thought conducive to the Schottic style of play. It is easy to forget when looking back with rosé tinted glasses, but Gullie's reign was not an overnight success and indeed, she came very close to being sacked only five matches into the World Cup 73 Qualifiers. Results picked up however, the turning point being a win at home to Krytenia - a massive achievement for a nation who traditionally struggle against the top sides. The result seemed to give Schottia a new found confidence, and with the cracks glossed over with a little self belief, they eventually went on to top their group. Further wins over Mertagne, and the completion of the double over Krytenia in the final group game meant that Schottia were able to avoid the play-off lottery and move straight into the World Cup final draw.

In spite of all the excitement surrounding the nation's qualification, there was no hiding the enormity of the task they faced. Drawn in a difficult group consisting of San Jose San Jose Guayabal, Farfadillis, and the Polar Islandstates, Schottia finished in fourth place picking up a single point against Farfadillis.

Schottia then entered the World Cup 74 qualification as second seeds in their group, and while this made for a potentially easier draw - being placed alongside The Holy Empire, Bears Armed, and New Gelderland saw pay to that. After a huge struggle, Schottia eventually came out on top for a second cycle running. In reflection the home and away wins over New Gelderland, were probably pivotal in a group where all the sides dropped points. By this point Gullie was starting to get the players she wanted around her, and this was marked by the emergence of individuals such as Johannas Ünterhausen, Bella Thompson, and Herron Crew, who all made valuable contributions.

The finals themselves were once again a bridge too far for Schottia, and where they seem to have gotten qualification down to a T, the finals are another story all together. This time Schottia were draw alongside Nova Anglicana, Vilita, and the familiar faces of Farfadillis. It was to be the same story as last time however, and with zero wins, Schottia limped out once again at the group stage.

After topping their qualification group the two previous campaigns there was a lot of pressure on Jane Gullie to do the same going into WC75. However, despite a strong start, the Schottians fell by the wayside, with a seemingly inconceivable collapse at the halfway stage, finishing third behind Devonta and Eura.

Lionel Mah Era
Schottia's first World Cup qualifying campaign under the very highly rated Quebecois Lionel Mah can simply be summed up by the word - frustration. In many ways, they did so much right, but during the critical games against Eshan and Turori, they couldn't come up with the goods. The Schottic support seemed to be divided right down the middle, as to whether or not the manager should be given a second chance. However, and perhaps most crucially, the players had been generally in favour of the then 50-year-old. In the end, the Schottic FA decided not to make a final decision on Mah's fate until after the Cup of Harmony, which would prove to be astute move.

Optimism was desperately low as Schottia headed into their first ever Cup of Harmony on home soil, with overseas territory Port Christopher qualifying for the World Cup making it all the more painful. However, Schottia managed to dig deep, and pull out the results they needed, as they made their way to the final. They suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final, losing in the dying minutes to a very impressive Bonesea side. Despite the obvious disappointment, there were several positives to take away. The run to the final, which included a 4-0 win over the higher ranked Super-Llamaland, undoubtedly meant that Schottia went into the Independents Cup the following year full of confidence.

Schottia marched to a somewhat surprise victory at the inaugural tournament, which pitted associations playing out with the Mulitiverse's three main sporting regions against one another. Defeating Veldgouwen in the final, Lionel Mah's side were able to atone for letting the Cup of Harmony slip through their fingers on home solid, and add a first senior trophy to the Harbour Hill cabinet.

Going into the qualifiers for World Cup 77, national confidence was at an all time high. Despite what on paper looked like a difficult draw, there was a feeling that Mah and Donaldson were the management team who knew how to get results. Along with heavyweights, Starblaydia and the Sarian, Schottia were also pitted against emerging superpower, Ceni. While Arrowsword, Koromin, and Co proved to be a bridge too far for the Schottians, they swept all others aside with some gutsy performances, to finish second in the group.

After securing a return to the world stage, Schottia found themselves in nosebleed territory after topping their group with nine points. A 2-1 win over Nephara will no doubt be the highlight of what turned out to be their breakthrough cycle. An extra time victory over fellow rising stars, Anglatia, in the round of sixteen, meant that Schottia were in uncharted waters as they progressed to the quarterfinals. It wouldn't be a World Cup if it didn't involve facing Farfadillis, and it was at the hands of the AO side, that Schottia eventually made their exit.

Mah and his team went on to prove that their exploits in SJG were no fluke, as they marched to the finals of the second IAC hosted in Schottia. Despite some good performances along the way, there was a horrible feeling of deja vu, as the Auks lost out to a young Bonesea side in the final.

Squad information
It's possibly going to be the biggest challenge a Schottia manager has ever faced, off the back of the nation's unprecedented successes. A run to the quarterfinal in SJG and Quebec, along with reaching three major finals in the last 30 months, means that there will be a degree of pressure to perform. After a somewhat slow start to his tenure, manager Lionel Mah has barely put a foot wrong since taking over from Jane Gullie, and the Quebecois may have created a rod for his own back. The biggest challenge facing the manager now, in terms of continuing this progress, is trying to bring through the next generation of stars. We have seen the manager make moves to address this in some of his call ups, with the likes of Carlin, Bánach, and Renshaw all lowering the average of the playing squad. Schottia's Golden Generation are now all approaching, and in some cases entering their thirties, so this is likely to be the last time we see this particular configuration of players take to the field.

In the eyes of many, the goalkeeper debate is far from decided; but as far as Lionel Mah is concerned, Jeremy McNott is still his number one choice. The management team have gone for the same three keepers as last time, meaning that once again, Jim Black will miss out on a place. Harry Gould is seen as the firm second choice, and many people's first choice. Common opinion is that the Soessch keeper had a very good season, and his Cornellians rival, McNott, needs to be looking over his shoulder. Once again Anna Kurovski will pick up any slack, as the ever-popular Olympic Nassau Bay goalie grabs the final spot in the team.

In defence we have seen a few new call-ups, but the nucleus of the side remains more or less the same. That 'settled back four' - often held up as Mah's greatest achievement as boss - will not be risked, so don't expect to see too much tinkering. The centre-back pairing of Gareth Souter and Stephen Paul, which has served them so well for the last three years, will almost certainly remain unchanged. The two of them are seen as probably the most level headed, and they both ply their trade at the highest level. Despite the progress being made by Jansberg defender, Mark Ünterhausen, the 24-year-old will likely need to be content with a place on the bench. Soessch man, Ben Ross is another reliable option in reserve, with the uncapped Chris Bishop and Grant Carlin unlikely to feature much. At right-back, vice-captain Larry Watt will just about keep his place, despite mounting pressure from Esther Abner in that position. Mah also has the option of playing Mark Ünterhausen there, and of course, Bella Thompson is an experienced option coming off the bench. Competition for the left-back slot is equally fierce, with the very capable Molly Killanen pushing hard for a starting role. Paul Doig will likely get the nod though, given that his throw-ins have become such a feature of the Schottia attack. James Robertson is waiting in the wings after a good season at Handon United, but it's realistically between the other two for who makes the starting eleven.

You would say midfield has traditionally been where Schottia are at their strongest, and again, Mah will stick with the players he trusts in this area. Captain Jenny McDonald is arguably the player who has done the best under the current management side, and she will be an important figurehead in the engine room of this side. Alongside her, Evelyn Conjure perhaps raised a few eyebrows, when she was selected here two years ago. However the Blue Coast midfielder has since proven her manager right, with a string of good performances. Schottia have strong back up in the central midfield area, chiefly through Real Chinchinhua's Johannas Ünterhausen, who will feature a lot over the course of the two-year campaign. Vera Cummings has also been doing very well at Port Sebastian, and will be pushing hard to get noticed, and Dundee's Jim Gerrish provides a good defensive option. Kerstin Dornenberger, and Dilon Bánach are both first time call ups, who impressed during the last SPL season, and might just do enough in training to convince the manager they're worth a punt. There is no place for Thio Crillin, or the divisive figure of Gary Corsie, suggesting it might now be the end of the road for one of Schottia's most spectacularly wasted talents. The Addison sisters, Mallox's Till Ümann, and Oliver Helling can possibly all count themselves unlucky to miss out on the squad 34.

In the attacking midfield, Schottia normally play with a very fluid line of three. One of Lionel Mah's big changes was to play Coultan through the centre, almost as a second striker, and that seemed to have paid dividends. As a result, Eoin Killanen, is pushed out to the right side, but he often drifts inside more when Coultan is forward in attack. By contrast, Rudden on the left is more of a conventional winger, and her pace has regularly been the key they use to try and open up the opposition. On the bench, 20-year-old Camila Luna is the understudy to Coultan through the middle, although she is cooler, calmer, and more patient player. Nick James and Steven Rexmont are exciting options on the left and right wing respectively, and they can add more of a balance if needed. Cerys Kennicot, who can play left of centre, is another good option on the bench. Some may be surprised to see Joey Bia left out of this squad, the emergence of James no doubt taking it's toll there. There was also some speculation that the on form Laura Smith could have been in with a shout of a call up, but it looks like it may be a little late now for the Mucusia midfielder.

In the striking department, responsibility will once again rest on the shoulders of Corinne Martel-Burns. While the young striker is far from reliable, she is undoubtedly the best natural goal scorer in the team, and her disciplinary record is improving. If her volatile nature does lead to suspension, then Schottia have a couple of handy options in reserve. John McCormack will likely be the first to be called upon, the Centralis Heart forward providing a pacey option on the bench. Heron Crew, by contrast, plays more of a target man role, and often gets the nod in matches where Schottia are likely to be on the back foot. Višnja Brankovič has probably played herself into contention too, with some good performances both in the TL, and during the run to the final of the last Independents Cup. Elspeth Glendening has been on some superb form in the SPL - however, it doesn't seem to have meant much in the national team, as her chances thus far have been limited. Ross Renshaw has likely just come along for the ride, but the Coast youngster had good DBC, will be trying hard to prove a point. Lucy Curren is a bit of a surprise exclusion, and David Hughes will be a little disappointed to miss out also.

1. GK. Jeremy McNott, 32 |

Cornellians | Height: 191cm Weight:79kg | Caps: 53 Goals: 0
The Cornellians shot stopper has never been unanimously accepted as the nation's number one. Since taking over the gloves from Lucas D'Araby at World Cup 75, there have been ups and down for the DBC winner, however he still finds himself top of the pile. McNott started his career at Handon United, where is was a reserve keeper, before leaving to join the Eagles in their early Multiverse Premier League adventure. Despite being seen in some quarters as a bit of a flapper, the 32-year-old has been the number-one for the Lochend side for eleven years, and has six SPL titles to his name.

2. RB. Larry Watt, 32 |

1860 Azoth, | Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg | Caps: 78 Goals: 2
Vice-captain, and one of the most dependable players in the team. Watt is a less-glamorous option at right-back, focusing generally on the defensive work. Like many in the current squad, he has a DBC winners medal, earned when he was a youngster at Marionville. Watt subsequently signed for Blau-Weiss Pallstadt in the last days of the Buyanese Top-League, before jumping ship at the right time, in a $9 million move to Cenian side 1860 Azoth. Schottia's most expensive defender has grown with the league, and is now regarded a key player in the squad. Fast, strong, and very defensively minded: There is very little getting past the 32-year-old.

3. LB. Paul Doig, 30 |

Port Sebastian | Height:180cm Weight:71kg | Caps: 39 Goals: 0
Their very settled defence has been a big part of Schottia's success over the fast four years, and sorting this out was an early priority for manager, Lionel Mah. Finding a solid left back was the first order of business, and Porty's Paul Doig seems to have fit that mould. Two league titles and two Schottic Cups with his club, as well as a DBC winners medal, Doig definitely has the experience to perform at this level. The 30-year-old is a quick, lightweight player, who gets up and down the line exceptionally well. There is some serious competition for this position, with Molly Killanen and James Robertson both performing well for their clubs. However, Doig's long throw-ins give him the edge over the other two, adding variety to the Schottia attack.

4. CB. Stephen Paul, 28 |

Falourr | Height:182cm Weight:81kg | Caps: 42 Goals: 2
With most of Schottia's brightest stars heading to Nephara, Cosumar, and the TL, Paul is something of an oddity plying his trade with Falourr. However Schottia's man in Eura has been something of a revelation since coming into the national team set up. Reliable, consistent, and nothing out of the ordinary - the 28-year-old is exactly what you are looking for in a steady centre-back. Paul's rise to prominence is further evidence that the national academy is capable of producing top talent, who tend to be far more rounded individuals. The player has formed a strong partnership with Gareth Souter while playing in the national team.

5. CB. Gareth Souter, 29 |

Sporting Cenial | Height: 189cm. Weight: 80kg | Caps: 65 Goals: 7
Now maturing into a top-class defender, Gareth Souter might already be the best centre-back Schottia have ever produced. Despite playing on the left of defence for his Cenian club, the former Handon United youngster has always played in his more natural position for Schottia. After making his debut for United, and winning a DBC at the age of eighteen, there was little doubt that this player would go on to achieve things on the world stage. One added bonus to having Souter in the team is his attacking threat at corners and set-plays.

6. CM. Jenny McDonald, 31 |

Coret Hawks | Height: 173cm. Weight: 64kg | Caps: 55 Goals: 6 (c)
A natural leader, who likes to grab the game by the scruff of the neck... as well as the opposition players. McDonald is a good balance of aggression and technical ability; and despite her height, she is a big presence in the midfield. She has previously captained the Willox Street Pirates to multiple league titles, as well as the last-16 of the Globe Cup, forcing her way into the national team set up as a result. McDonald was a little late to the party - with playing most of her career in Port Christopher clearly having a pejorative effect on her selection prospects. However she has since made up for lost time, claiming the captain’s armband, and racing to over fifty caps, as she has made herself an indispensible member of this side.

8. R/L/CM. Evelyn Conjure, 24 |

Blue Coast 1981 | Height: 170cm. Weight: 67kg | Caps: 30 Goals: 4
Conjure was probably something of a surprise inclusion, when she was called up to the first Independents Cup. However, her performances in the Boreal Islands won her rave reviews, as well as a starting spot in the last World Cup squad. The Coast player's versatility, pace, and stamina, make her an excellent fit, playing in the engine room of this midfield. Despite playing in Port Christopher since the age of seventeen, it seems to have done little to affect her career prospects; and with strong runs in UICA competition, she has a lot of big game experience. Conjure normally starts for Schottia, however, Johannas Ünterhausen is sometimes preferred against more physical sides.

10. AMRLC. Eoin Killanen, 32 |

Mâ Âlâmëómë | Height:176cm Weight:71kg | Caps: 117 Goals: 54
Considered by most to be the talisman and star of this team, Killanen's big breakthrough came when Schottia first qualified for World Cup 73. Starting his career Lammerton, he then moved to FC Zürich in Vyrser, before being picked up by A-League side Kingsgrove. It was with the Brenecian club that he made a name for himself, becoming player of the year award in his one and only season there. Killanen then joined up with Mâ Âlâmëómë in Farfadillis where he has been for the last five seasons. He has had attitude problems at various points in his career, but when he is on song, he had the ability to be a game changer for his side. Schottia's Di Bradini Cup winning captain can play anywhere in the attacking line, right, left, or centre. Killanen has the potential to surpass Lucas D'Araby's cap tally of 126 during this campaign, and is also the nation's all time top scorer.

7. LM/F. Chloe Rudden, 29 |

Sabrefell Athletic | Height:172cm Weight:60kg | Caps: 77 Goals: 17
Rudden is second to no one in this squad in terms of pace when she drives forward down the left wing. A very successful player at youth level, Rudden won her first Schottia cap aged eighteen, after an impressive debut season with North Laithland in the Nepharim Premiership. The 29-year-old helped the Spiders to some strong league finishes in what is one of the Multiverse's top divisions, and earned a move to rivals Sabrefell Athletic two season ago. With Rudden's directness, and attacking threat she is also one of the main sources if goals in the current side. In her debut season with the Reds, she made the Premiership team of the season, scoring sixteen goals in the process. This year she will be hoping to do even better and help Athletic push for the title.

11. A/CM FC. Kim Coultan, 30 |

Crawford City | Height:160cm Weight:53kg | Caps: 85 Goals: 24
Coultan has been a trailblazer her entire career, and will likely be remembered as one the big players in the early WCC era of Schottic football. She was one of the nation's first players to make a name for herself abroad, with Buyanese side Jottnar Kallsmudden, after making the switch from Dundee as a scrawny 17-year-old. Coultan was also the first female player to be capped for the national team, and the age of eighteen, and never really looked back from there. After leaving the Top-League, Coultan has subsequently found form with Cosumarite side, Crawford City, where she currently forms part of one of the World's most formidable forward lines. The 30-year-old can play either wide right or centre of attacking midfield, but is better the central areas, where her preferred position is just off the shoulder of the striker. Coultan is a very light-weight, technical player, who is famed for her crisp one-touch passing, and is very good with either foot.

13. FC. Corinne Martel-Burns, 22 |

Polaris | Height:173cm Weight:65kg | Caps: 44 Goals: 35
After missing out on the Independents Cup - while awaiting trial for assault charges in Quebec - Schottia's World Cup 77 top goal scoring will thankfully be back in the side. Martel-Burns' career to date has been dogged with incidents, and controversy seems to have followed her at every turn. From being kicked out of the Handon United youth academy aged fourteen, it has been a nonstop rollercoaster with some dizzying highs, and some deeply regrettable lows. Whatever your feelings about the player, the one undeniable fact is that she scores goals. What's more, now that she's gotten a bit better at staying on the pitch for ninety minutes, she seems to be scoring even more. In terms of playing style, she operates at a very high tempo, and has a very good first time strike on her. Martel-Burn recently completed a move from St Johns Arsenal to Polaris for a fee of $15 million.

12. GK. Harry Gould, 27 |

FC Soessch | Height:188cm Weight:75kg | Caps: 4 Goals: 0
The former Port Sebastian youth prospect found himself as second choice keeper during the last World Cup cycle, and will be second choice again, ahead of Olympic Nassau Bay's Anna Kurovski. Since joining FC Soessch as a youngster, the Handon born keeper has been in excellent form for his club, and has been capped at U18 and U21 levels. He has looked solid when tested in the four caps he has earned so far, and there are a few fans who would certainly like to see him on the pitch more. Less up and down that McNott, but he can't pull of the same wonder saves, so take your pick.

33. GK. Anna Kurovski, 29 |

Olympic Nassau Bay | Height:186cm Weight:74kg | Caps: 1 Goals: 0
After winning her first cap during the last set of WCQs, Kurovski is seen as a very reliable back up in this squad. She has been in New Gelderland for all of her professional career, with Olympic Nassau Bay, who have been on a good run in UICA competition. The girl of Acrean parentage is a popular player back in Schottia, and is well know for her slightly unorthodox style of eye makeup, and her habit of pulling off theatrical saves. Kurovski is definitely a good player and will be ready if call upon.

14. RB. Esther Abner, 28 |

Port Sebastian | Height:170cm Weight:63kg | Caps: 9 Goals: 0
Abner burst onto the scene with Port Patrick United, as part of the squad of players who took the SPL by storm in their first season. Now playing at Port Sebastian, Abner was one of the players pivotal to her former side's promotion seven seasons ago. The 28-year-old has been on some very good form lately, and there is some suggestion she might be pushing Larry Watt hard for a start. Her performances in the Globe Cup would suggest she can compete at the highest level. Despite her obvious talent, Abner's career has always been side-railed a little by her good looks, which have sadly been afforded more tabloid spotlight than her on-field exploits.

35. R/LB Bella Thompson, 29

Mallox | Height: 175cm. Weight: 64kg | Caps: 17 Goals: 0
The highly influential Mallox wingback is now a near permanent fixture in this squad. Thompson has amassed seventeen caps, the majority of which she gained under Jane Gullie, who always seemed to rate her. Thompson has captained Schottia at youth level, and brings with her a cold hard professionalism, as well as the usual lunging tackles. She has played pretty much her entire professional career in Cosumar, and after a lengthy spell at the Nomad Brotherhood, has found her place with top tier side, Mallox. The 29-year-old might have slipped behind Abner in the current squad, but her versatility means she will likely get a look in at some point.

16. LB. Molly Killanen, 26 |

FC Samotath | Height:174cm Weight:64kg | Caps: 8 Goals: 0
Now established with FC Samotath in Cosumar, Molly Killanen is slowly beginning to move out from the shadows of her much more famous brother, Eoin. It's weird how left back has gone from being a problem position for Schottia, to one where they actually have an excess. Molly is a very good standard of reserve, and there are many who would argue that she is a more rounded player than Doig... once his long throws are taken out of the equation. You just know your luck is out, when the guy in front of you can chuck a football about half the length of the pitch.

25. LB. James Robertson, 26

Handon United | Height: 175cm. Weight: 69kg | Caps: 1 Goals: 0
There are probably few of us who expected to see James Robertson pull on the white and green again. Called up four years ago, his poor performance in his single cap was the focus of much debate as to how low Schottia had fallen. However, Handon United's incredible upturn in fortunes have mirrored his own, and he now returns to the side with an SPL winners medal, and a determination to push Molly Killanen and Paul Doig for that left-back spot. Good movement, good awareness, and a good cross, Robertson deserves this call-up.

17. CB. Mark Ünterhausen, 24 |

FC Jansberg | Height:186cm Weight:75kg | Caps: 11 Goals: 0
After leaving FC Döllar aged sixteen, Mark has worked tirelessly to establish himself as a key play at Semarland's most famous side. Seen as the most consistent and level headed of the Ünterhausens, there is little doubt that Mark will force his way into the first team at some point, even if it isn't right now. Schottia have been through a lot of central-defensive-pairings over the last ten years, so Mah might be reluctant to break up the current partnership. However Mark has been very impressive when called upon, and is the clear third choice centre-back. He can also operate as a right-back, and this versatility makes him valuable on the bench. Ünterhausen's partner is FC Soessch midfielder Kerstin Dornenberger.

The former Handon United youth player has really found a second wind in his time at FC Soessch. The 30-year-old has captained Schottia at youth level and is well-known for being a cool head at back. His good form this season has seen him liked with a move back to the SPL champs, one which he has refused to rule out. Ross will most certainly play a role at some point in the long World Cup campaign to come, especially if his league performances are anything to go by.

Bishop will be over the moon to finally get this opportunity to show people what he can do. Having been capped at U18 and U21 level Lammerton City, he quit the club upon relegation to further his career overseas. He took what some might consider a gamble, but some strong performances in Mercedini have undoubtedly caught the eye of the Schottia scouts, who have been keeping tabs on him for a while. In fairness, he is unlikely to feature much, but one or two injuries at the back, and he could get chance. However, at only 25, his best years will likely be ahead of him still.

32. CB. Grant Carlin, 21 |

One of three members of Schottia's highly successful DBC-40 third-place side to win a place in the squad. It has been a fantastic season for Grant Carlin, who has also had great success domestically, and was honoured in the end of year awards. He has likely been called up to get some experience and train with the current squad, since breaking into the starting line-up will be incredibly tough for the 21-year-old. Were he to receive his first cap, however, he would be the first New Island player to represent his country in over fifty years.

27. L/CM. Cerys Kennicot, 31 |

Centralis Heart | Height:169cm Weight: 60kg | Caps: 20 Goals: 3
Now a seasoned professional, Kennicot has been an important reserve for Schottia over the past six or seven years. The Centralis Heart winger has never been blessed with much pace though, and now the other side of thirty, she is perhaps coming to the end of her time as a top international star. The former Breakers lass has a good eye for goal, and is perhaps unlucky not to have chipped in with more than the three international goals she already has.

20. LM. Steven Rexmont, 24 |

Chenoworth Harriers | Height:180cm Weight: 67kg | Caps: 16 Goals: 3
Rexmont will have ruffled a few feathers in the SPL last season, as he handed in a transfer request at Port Sebastian. The winger, who is fast becoming known as a player with itchy feet, is now at his third senior club, Chenoworth Harriers. Rumour has it that his discontent with playing second fiddle to Rudden in the national team was part of his reasoning for wanting to join the world's top league system. The player who started his career at Dundee has been one of the SPL's most exciting players over the last three years, and Porty fans' loss is undoubtedly the Harriers gain. Rexmont is a goal-scoring winger, who likes to take players on, and stands up well in a challenge.

If James is able to add to the two caps he earned in the IAC, he will be the first Schottian from the Apoxian League to represent his country. As a 20-year-old, the winger more or less got Snubbeak Rock promoted to the SPL single handed, with some hard working performances. As a straightforward, right-footed, right winger, he is something Schottia don't really have at the moment, and that means he is likely to be used a fair bit over the course of this cycle.

Perhaps the next Development side star to make an impact for Schottia, Kella is well worth her call late call up to the team. The 24-year-old conceivably slipped under the radar last season in the A-League, but after Lionel Mah was in attendance at her recent match against Falkner United, she has been hastily pencilled in. Part of a growing Schottic contingent at Lotus Park, Kella is powerful runner who is more than capable of taking defenders on. Whether it's down the left of through the middle, she also has the all-round game to cause her opponents a lot of problems. By all accounts she has come on leaps and bounds in her first season in Brenecia, especially in terms of her passing game and crossing. Oh yeah, and it's pronounced Lucia by the way.

29. DM. Jim Gerrish, 25 |

Jim Gerrish has finally managed to shake his reputation as being merely a hatchet man, with some more mature displays for Dundee this season. We know that Lionel Mah isn't opposed to throwing him on, especially where a more defensive option is required. Gerrish may well be a rough and tumble ball winner, but he wouldn't be in the squad if he couldn't play a little too. The 25-year-old is very hard working, and his distribution has improved two-fold over the last four years.

22. CM/CF. Dilon Bánach, 20 |

Handon United | Height: 171cm. Weight: 62kg | Caps: 0 Goals: 0
The baby of the squad (by only a few months) Bánach is seen as a player with a big future ahead of her. After excelling during a season on loan at Port James Athletic, the youngster was put centre stage in Handon United's title winning side upon her return. The DBC third place winner started life as a striker, but has since found her place in the centre of midfield. Most critics see her as a similar sort of player to McDonald, and plenty of direct comparisons have already been made. A tenacious and ruthlessly efficient midfielder with an eye for goal, she is likely to get a look in at some point.

Arguably the most improved player in Schottia over the last eighteen months, her inclusion in the squad is further proof of her club's revival in fortunes. FC Soessch picked Dornenberger up from neighbours, Döllar, after they were relegated two years ago. The 24-year-old has now risen from relative obscurity to become one of the top midfielders in the SPL. She is a very good dribbler, and inventive with her distribution. Dornenberger is unlikely to be thrown in at the deep end, but if she gets a chance to show what she can do, then you wouldn't bet against her taking it. The midfielder has been in a long-term relationship with former Döllar teammate Mark Ünterhausen since their time together at the club eight years ago.

18. CM. Vera Cummings, 28 |

Port Sebastian | Height:177cm Weight: 63kg | Caps: 15 Goals: 0
Cummings made a big impact on this Schottia squad, with her no nonsense attitude and work ethic impressing her new boss. Like Rexmont, she followed manager Jock Sonny from Dundee to Port Sebastian, and adjusted extremely well. She has been amongst the awards in the SPL, and was a big part of Porty's recent runs in international domestic competition. Cummings has been touted as the next Gary Corsie by the media; let's hope that only refers to her on-field attributes. The success she has seen at club level, has meant that she was one of the players more frequently called upon during the last World Cup, winning a place on the plane to the finals.

19. D/ACM. Johannas Ünterhausen, 26 |

Real Chinchinhua | Height: 186cm. Weight: 77kg | Caps: 48 Goals: 7
Ünterhausen is a player who will be used extensively over the course of the World Cup cycle. He normally competes with Conjure was a starting berth alongside McDonald in the centre of midfield. Despite some very good performances, and the fact that he is fast approaching fifty caps, Johannas has never quite reached his full potential. At twenty-six there is still time for the ex Döllar kid, but he seems to have fallen short of the World Class star that was promised. He is an intelligent, and modern style midfielder, who can play in a host of positions. Johannas combines the physical and technical approaches to the game, and has a good goal scoring record for the national team.

15. AMC. Camila Soria Luna, 20 |

Marine Coast United | Height:176cm Weight:65kg | Caps: 15 Goals: 2
The Port Christopher born talent, Luna, has never really been out of the headlines in her short professional career. Exploiting a loophole to play for her former nation of residence rather than her island of birth, has instantly made her a bit of a hate figure in Port Christopher, who have branded her a traitor. All that nasty business to one side, the U15 WC winner, and current U21s captain is one of the best young players to come through the ranks in a long time. Luna is a creative midfield playmaker, who is extremely comfortable on the ball, and always looking for the killer pass. The Project +90 graduate is now playing with Vilitan side, Marine Coast United, whom she helped to promotion last season. Luna is generally seen as the successor to the likes of Coutlan and Killan, and as those two enter their thirties, the young "Christopheran" is likely to get more opportunities to shine.

9. FR/C. John McCormack, 28 |

Centralis Heart | Height:186cm Weight:79kg | Caps: 40 Goals: 18
This no nonsense attacker has been putting in some strong performances in the Terranean-League, particularly in helping Electrumite club Centralis Heart to Champions' Cup semi finals a few years back. The former Lammerton striker came to prominence after Schottia's run to the semi-finals of DBC-35, where his goals scoring ability started to catch the eye of few foreign clubs. Generally speaking, he has shared striking duties with Martel-Burns, but the Polaris striker seems to have pulled ahead of him in recent years. Of all the strikers in the national pool, McCormack offers the most in terms of raw pace.

21. FC. Heron Crew, 31 |

Eastal Lunar | Height:186cm Weight: 78kg | Caps: 54 Goals: 22
[i]Crew has now played most of his professional career in the V-League, having transferred there from Port Patrick United at the age of 23. Despite often being described as a player of a 'lesser technical ability,' Crew has always performed well in a Schottia jersey, and contributes plenty in the way of goals. He is probably the only player in the current squad who possesses his skill-set, as a target man and aerial striker.

30. FC. Ross Renshaw, 21 |

This is a really big opportunity for Ross Renshaw, but one that may have come a little too soon. The player has been on good goal scoring form both with his club, and at U21 level, but WCC football is always a massive step up. Renshaw was most likely unheard of, up until a few months ago, bit his goals en route to the DBC-40 semi-final have seen him suddenly marked out as one of the stars of tomorrow. Blue Coast's success in UICA competition over the last two years has likely helped him increase his standing. Renshaw is a very straightforward type of striker, and a bit of an all-rounder.

28. FC. Elspeth Glendening, 24 |

Gendening has been utterly brilliant for Port James Athletic, since she burst onto the scene aged 20. An excellent goal-scoring rate, as well as graft and intelligence to go with it, have made her a massive fans favourite at the club. Athletic very much see her as the girl who will lift the club back into the top four in the years to come, and since she is on a long-term contract, she seems to be going nowhere. The 25-year-old must be getting a little fed up of coming along to sit on the bench however; despite the amount of time she has spent in the squad, she has only actually played three times.

26. FC. Višnja Brankovič, 29 |

Eastern Stars | Height:177cm Weight: 60kg | Caps: 9 Goals: 5
The Schottic Regional Development graduate made a big splash for Cenian side Lake Cenial Chimeras, with an incredible 87 goals in her three seasons there, easily making her one of Schottia's most prolific goal scorers. With the CeniLeague's merger two years ago, she moved to Isle of Avon side, Eastern Stars, where she seems to be making an impact. It will be interesting to see how much she features in this campaign, given the way she broke through in the Independents Cup. Brankovic, who is of Syaran parentage, has an undergraduate law degree, and is currently studying a masters degree part-time.

Schottia
Situated in the middle of the Mirkford Ocean, Schottia is a small diverse country of 6.6 million people. Throughout the world, Schottia is best known for its progressive social policies, far left politics, and whisky distilleries. The southern Schottic landscape is largely characterised by arable farmland, pine forests, and windswept pebble beaches. The North Island, by contrast, is almost entirely made up of rugged mountain ranges and bleak scree-slopes, where the towns and cities, for the most part, hug the narrow bands of flat land around the coast.

Schottia was once the easternmost part of an Ossorian Empire, the remnants of which still stretch around most of what are now the region of Tyran. Schottia broke away from the Ossorians in 1867, following internal unrests, which saw the small fledgling nation take the first steps down the road towards becoming a republic. Schottia as we know it today was constituted in 1922, following a workers' uprising, out of which the country's socialist politics was born.

Today, Schottia is a small, peaceful nation; with thriving fishing, tourism, and drinks industries. Most people living in South Schottia are ethnically Schottic or Ossorian, although particularly in the bigger cities, you will meet a range of people from all over the region, who have at one point fled major conflicts, or simply chosen to study or settle. The North Island of Schottia is similar, however it also has a large Shalumite-German population, as well as pockets of French speaking communities.

Handon
The most international of all Schottia's cities is its capital Handon. The diverse population of 1.1 million includes over 200,000 students who attend the city's four universities and five technical colleges. The harbour city is a unique blend of the old and the new, with modern buildings slotted into gap sites around 17th and 18th century architecture. Of all Schottia's towns and cities Handon is by far the most vibrant, with award winning restaurants, clubs, and bars; as well as no shortage of excellent hotels and apartments. For most people, Handon is synonymous with Schottia, and it is often the case that visitors rarely take time to see some of the more remote, rural communities. Built on a peninsula, the south of the city is what many would consider to be the 'city centre.' As well as being the location of Harbour Hill Stadium, it is also home to all of the main administrative buildings, and the more affluent parts of the city.

Travel
Getting to Schottia is reasonably straight forward, if not a little time consuming. Despite the fact that the country consists of five islands, it is unlikely that many visitors will arrive by sea, due to the distances involved. Almost everyone arriving in the country, either fans or players, will fly into Handon International Airport. H.I.A handles almost all of the nation's incoming flights, as well as being a main stop off northwest in or out of the region. Anyone arriving by sea will most likely dock at the ferry terminal in Granton, just to the north of Handon.

Travel within Schottia is usually pretty painless. Public transport it well funded, and free bus and tram services make getting around the cities cheap, and stress free. For longer distances, all major towns and cities are connected by a high-speed rail service. Schottic citizens pay high levels of tax, but one of the plus sides is that they have a public transport system that works.

Languages
The official languages of Schottia are Scots, English, German, and French, however, English is the one most likely to be heard in the streets. Most people living in Schottia are multilingual, speaking combinations of the four national languages, depending on the area they were born. In addition to this, there is a heavy emphasis on languages in schools from the age of five onwards, meaning that it is not unusual for Schottians to speak up to four or five of the main regional languages with some degree of fluency.

Weather
Most of Schottia has a temperate maritime climate, with warm summers typically around 25°C, and cool snowy winters ranging from -8 to +8°C. Whatever time of the year you're fans and players are visiting Schottia, it is likely to be wet, and it's perhaps best to bring an umbrella.

Currency and Shopping
The currency in Schottia is the Schottic Pound. The current exchange rate is just under two NS dollars to the pound, meaning that certain luxury goods might seem expensive. On the flip side of this, food in the supermarkets is available at cost price, as is clothing in government stores - the same can also be said for most non-luxury items. Schottia isn't exactly one of the world's main shopping centres, and strict rules on advertising can often mean that the High Streets can seem a little drab to those more used to eye-catching posters, and flashy billboards. That said, the larger more international cities of Soessch and Handon have their fair share of fashion outlets, and foreign eateries. While these regulations might have limited the expansion of international businesses, the gap in the market has been filled up small independent clothing boutiques, family-run bars, and restaurants.

National information.
Located within the Esportiva, Port Christopher is an unincorporated state of the Free Colony of Schottia. The nation is home to just over 1,000,000 people, the vast majority living in the City of Port Christopher. The small country is home to a diverse population of various ethnicities and backgrounds. Port Christopher has an extremely high population density especially around the coastal areas.

The colony was established as a trading post in 1879, when the then, Eastern Ossorían Empire, were looking for a way into the Esportivan market. The wealthy polyarchy of merchants swamped to Port Christopher in a bid to take advantage of this situation.

At the time the Ossorí government came under heavy criticism for their treatment of the native population. Many of whom it is believed had their homes destroyed and were either sold into slavery or died from disease and hunger as their fields were dug up for cash crops. General Lewis Home-Christopher, whom the colony is named after, is still a controversial figure in Schottia today for the methods he used in securing the area.

The Port Christopher merchants quickly became some of the richest in what were the beginnings of a Schottic maritime empire, taking over from where the previous administrations had left off. The new colony flourished along with the EOE at this time and was another hub to new enlightenment and developments in science, education, literature and philosophy. The City of Port Christopher became the Empire's second city and one of the richest Tyranan ports.

The Recent Divisions.
The idea of Port Christopher having a nation team has never been unanimously popular. The Islanders are Schottic passport holders, and football in the territory has always struggled to shake its reputation for being somewhat mediocre. Current manager and former New Dundee Star striker, Jim Reid, had made it something of a personal mission for almost ten years to see a WCC accredited Port Christopher side in the Baptism of Fire, but all his campaigning failed to yield a result. The turning point in his quest was the formation of the island's Super-League, which brought investment and foreign talent Christopheran football for the first time. Seen as a way to make money by further enhancing the reputation of the league, the clubs' wealthy owners and backers threw their weight behind a Football Association of Port Christopher.

Unsurprisingly, for an island of just over one million, Port Christopher's national team found the going tough. Some early successes, including a third place BoF finish, and a run to the last-sixteen of the Runner Cup were overshadowed by lacklustre performances, and poor results in the World Cup Qualifiers. It turned out that the territory's side were not improving Port Christopher's reputation at all - in fact it was doing the opposite - thus wounding the pride of the billionaire sociopaths and narcissists, who populated the FA's boardroom.

With even a few of Port Christopher's rising stars beginning to turn their back on the island, exploiting loopholes in their nationality to play for Schottia, the FA had had enough, and decided to pull the plug. It is hard to say if what happened next was a symptom or a cause of this, but either way, fallowing a shock defeat to Nuevo Caracas, there was a massive player revolt, with almost a dozen stars walking out on Jim Reid and his team.

Somehow, against all the odds, Port Christopher recovered though, and with no support from the board, Reid managed to guide his side to the World Cup finals in Ceni and Electrum. Exactly how he pulled this off is unknown, as there were fixtures for which he struggled to find twenty-three professional players. It seemed that the small group of player he did have were giving it their all for Reid, and their 'us against the world' attitude saw them through.

Quite incredibly, despite all of this, the FA were still hell-bent of withdrawing their WCC membership; seeing Reid's and his players' success as a slap in the face. The team managed to side step this move however, having Reid himself elected as FA chairperson in time for the start of the WC77-Qualifers.

After a patchy WC77 campaign, Reid's players managed to pull themselves over the line, leapfrogging Chaita to secure second spot. With a reputation for tough tackling, last ditch defending, and grabbing goals on the counter attack, Port Christopher seem to have found their niche as a team capable of getting results. They then followed this up with a run to the quarterfinal of the Regionals, where they lost in extra time to Brenecia.

The Republic of Port Christopher
As a result of the recent divisions mentioned above, the new "players' cooperative" were still left with several obstacles to overcome, not least of all where they were going to play. Luckily, being a group of millionaire footballers has some advantages, and they formulated a plan. Seizing control of a manmade island, just meters the wrong side of Christopheran waters, the team set about constructing a stadium and training complex, allowing them to play their home fixture out of reach from their detractors back on the mainland. The players refer to this island affectionately as the Republic of Port Christopher.

Former Schottia U21 cap, Scott Torrance has done pretty well since taking over from Carus Luxious at the start of World Cup 76. The Sarrburgh Town keeper is very consistent and a good communicator at the back. For a team so reliant on keeping things tight, Torrance is an important player for the Sealions. His understudy seems to be academy graduate Oskar Del Herrera, who recently signed for Cosumarite side Olask Islanders. For the most part, Del Herrera is untested, but he is a big strong keeper, and likely has a big future in the game. 36-year-old Donald Gordon is in as back up, although the Saints keeper is very unlikely to feature.

Port Christopher are built on their defence. A good keeper, had working midfield, and most importantly a solid back four. Having only conceded nine goals in eighteen World Cup qualifying matches, this department will likely be vitally important once again. Schottic fans must be wondering how centre-back Michael Campbell slipped totally under the NT radar. Since switching alliances to Port Christopher the 25-year-old has been outstanding, so much so, that he earned a move to Nepharim Premiership side Sabrefell Athletic. Alongside him is Port James Athletic's Lara Dixon. The former Pirates, and Kelsy defender is probably coming to the end of the road at thirty-five, but she brings important experience to the side. For back up they will rely upon Tomas Nazario-Silva, who despite playing centre midfield for his country, plays centre-back for the Pirates. We expect there to be a change in personnel at right-back, with Rian Corrello's form at CP winning her a starting berth. Liam Gonclaves is pretty much cemented in at left-back, and the Dundee man is also a very important set piece taker. Waiting in the wings are Saints right-back Aderiz, and Hillstreet youngster Sanchia Diaz.

Port Christopher have been forced into major change ahead of this World Cup, following the retirement of the only captain they have ever had in their short history, Diego Bandos. The Lexington Victory star has elected to call an end to his time with the national team, after helping them to two World Cups. His replacement in the heart of the midfield will be New Belfast Blues' Tom Sanchez. "The buzz saw", as the NBB fans nicknamed him, has been instrumental in their promotion to the SPL this season. Playing just behind him will be Pirates' duo, Meave Bronte, and Tom Silva. Neither of these two take any prisoners, but are capable of some subtler stuff too. Silva has earned a bit of a reputation as the bad-boy of the team, and his disciplinary record can run him into trouble. Back up in this department, are Stars teenager Magnus Kellur, and the highly rated Portus Independent star, Ellie Graham. In the attacking midfield are Polaris captain Tim Maitfield and Samaj's Rachel Del Arro. Maitfield was a stand-out player during the last campaign, and also takes over the armband in the national team. Former Handon United youth, Del Arro, is considered one of the rising stars of this team, and has the potential to really make an impact on the world stage. On the bench, they can look to Aredhel Neil, Caro Bensborg, Samid Khren, and Stella Watson.

Ranulph Bustamante was quite successful in his first year as manager of Abanhfleft, guiding the men's team to their second World Cup appearance, and his win against Nephara in the final matchday of the group stage of World Cup 75 confused people enough to make them think that Abanhfleft could have qualified, but alas, they didn't. But that doesn't matter, because he managed to guide the men to the World Cup despite a rocky qualification. Now it's in Holly Jonasson's hands to ensure that the women of Abanhfleft can emulate their male counterparts once again with a new-look team that's ready to take the world by storm. Or will they? At over 15 stone, Foulke is a big and intimidating presence between the sticks whether it's during open play or a set piece like a free kick, a corner, or even a penalty. "Fat Patty" finally made her way back into contention for the Fleftic national team after Yannie Redborne announced her retirement from international football and Yelena Valinovskaya was ruled out of the national squad due to operations to repair ligament damage suffered during the previous season. She is also making her way into contention for the number 1 spot for Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies with Victoria Carter rumored to be mooting retirement after this season.

Claire is one of the few Fleftic players playing in a foreign league that is not the Pridnestrovian Super League, the Oontaz National League or the Copper Cuprum First Division, and she is also the first Fleftic to move to another team that is not playing within Abanhfleft's sphere of influence. Like Dana Valentine on the other side of the pitch, Claire appears tireless as she runs all over the field, covering the flanks and sometimes even acting as a wingback if the situation demands. She has a mean long shot and also sometimes can act as a poacher for set pieces such as corners. She was sold by Sarvusdalamoive Ladies to Blue Coast 1981 in Port Christopher for a club record fee of NS$22m.

CB: Dawn JACKSON 32 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies

A single center back is rare to find in international football these days, and the fact that Dawn is able to do it day in and day out for both the national team and Markovsky Ladies is a testament to her skills. Few will begrudge her her moments for both club and country, and sometimes, when the going gets tough, she can be the last line of defense at one end and a scoring threat at the other just seconds later. If she's the last player between the opposition and the keeper, she will not hesitate to tackle. It's put a lot of yellow cards and a few red cards on her career, but who can blame the daughter of the legendary defender MacArthur "Mac" Jackson for inheriting his defensive style?

Abanhfleft's women's football team managed to nearly qualify for the World Cup with only three defenders, and the fact that these three defenders are able to cover the large amount of space between and around them has made said defense world-renowned. Dana has a powerful engine to accompany her unusually long strides, and her measured yet high-tempo runs allow her to cover said large spaces even for her small stature, and is excellent at both attacking and defending set pieces. However, she is a confidence player, meaning a few bad games and her form could dip below the standard, as became noticeable in Abanhfleft's last few games in World Cup 72 qualifiers following her scoring an own goal for New Wolfopolis.

RM: Bella MAYNARD 35 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies

Bella was one of the surprise players for Abanhfleft in the World Cup 72 qualifiers, revealing herself to be much more than just a box-to-box midfielder. Turns out that she actually has a wicked good free kick and long range shot, and is also a good poacher of both goals and set pieces, especially when she is in the box during goal scrambles. There are often times, though, that she is the last line of defense before the actual defenders themselves, and when she's not too heavily involved in the attack during these times, count on her to make a critical tackle to stop the opponents' momentum and halt their attack on its tracks. Still, she can be caught unawares, especially by a very good and very quick counterattacking side.

A good showing from Lea in Abanhfleft's first ever Di Bradini campaign left a good impression on Kasper Molak, and he immediately promoted her to the senior team in place of Tamika Keenings, who retired from international football soon after the conclusion of DBC 31. The half-Korean midfielder is one of the taller players on the starting eleven in comparison to the likes of Bella Maynard and Jordana Valentine. She is definitely the one with the most stamina, as her distance-covered graphics in many league, cup and national games shows how much energy she has in her lithe body. Also, she's scored a disproportionate amount of headers and volleys for someone who's supposed to be patrolling the pitch in front of the defense. After some time playing for Ladies' Third Division side Tefel Ladies, she was picked up by Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies for NS$10.5m.

Lilly is the stronger half of Abanhfleft's main winger pairing, complimenting and contrasting Addie Singh's pace with her rock-solid presence. Her hold-up play and ball control skills have made her an indispensable part of all the teams that she's played for in her career, from Riuwiee State University to Admiral Porcusces Ladies to her new club Riuwiee United Women, who signed her from the Admirals for NS$9.6m as part of the club's new initiative to emulate the men's team in terms of success on the pitch. It was obvious that the decision to make her a first-team player for the national team was a no-brainer, although she did struggle to find her rhythm until her old teammates from Riuwiee State also received international call-ups, especially her wing partner Addie. With the two of them on the wings, Abanhfleft has attacking danger everywhere on the pitch.

Addie is the pacier half of Abanhfleft's main winger pairing, and one might remember that she was already a member of Riuwiee State University's track and field program as a sprinter before joining her friends in the university's football team. A wise choice, both for her and for Riuwiee State, it turned out, as she was instrumental to leading the university to their first (and to date only) Riuwiee Provincial Football Association Challenge Cup. She was signed by Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies as soon as she graduated and went pro, and her background as a sprinter made her one of the fastest players of the team, if not the Ladies' Premier League itself. She also has good crossing ability, and she has the confidence and finishing to go one-on-one on the keeper if need be.

CAM: Allison TORRES 31 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Ladies

Sonny started off as a central attacking midfielder during her Riuwiee State University days, but her tendency to go forward and mingle with the dedicated forwards has seen her develop into a false nine under Xemlice Rovers' old gaffer George Westing. Her ball distribution skills, also developed under the same manager, have allowed her to become both an attacking threat up front and a vital link-up cog in the middle. Last year, she was snapped up by Sporting Ceneisis Ladies for NS$50m, making her the most expensive female Fleftic football player ever. However, as with many other big money signings by Ceneisis, it took her nearly half a season before she managed to establish a good tandem with her striker partner and fellow new signing by Ceneisis, Svenja Volksson of Armeia. For the national team, Sonny is a credible goalscoring threat, and her forward forays have allowed her to score her fair share of goals.

Chelsea has become the face of both Arsenal Ladies and the Fleftic women's football team. Once she scored that hat-trick against Riuwiee United's U-21s that paved the way for Riuwiee State University's comeback victory and their first and only Riuwiee Provincial FA Cup, the goalscoring floodgates have opened up for her for both club and country. She has already gone five seasons scoring twenty goals or more in the Ladies' Premier League, winning the Golden Boot in three of those five seasons. Her hold-up play is simply world-class, and she can score from anywhere on the field, sometimes at will. Her only weakness is that she's a little timid when it comes to going forward, and that she is easily frustrated if she doesn't score from an easy chance. She's the new captain of the side as part of Holly Jonasson's new-look team project.

CF: Alexandra ROUSSEAU 31 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies

The height difference between Alex and Chelsea Stuart may be small (just about half an inch or so) but it's enough to make her into the smaller and speedier half of Abanhfleft's forward pairing, even though she's about a few pounds heavier than Chelsea (but don't tell her that). She doesn't accelerate as quickly as other "pacy" forwards, but once she gets going, she goes, and fast. Addie Singh and Lea Choi may be the only ones who could claim to be faster than Alex when she's at full speed, but sometimes a turtle can seem faster when she's "revving up". She can play as lone striker if need be, and indeed played that role for Rosenpfelblatz before the emergence of Karen Villegas, but she truly works best with a strike partner, especially a ridiculously strong (for her build) and physical hold-up expert like Chelsea. Following her revelation that she has been diagnosed with lupus, Alex has been forced onto the Lady Revolutionaries' bench so that she doesn't end up dying on Holly Jonasson's watch.

GK: Victoria CARTER 36 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies

Vicky is the ever-dependable skipper of the Lady Revolutionaries, or at least she used to be before Holly Jonasson decided to give the captain's armband to Chelsea Stuart. She is genuinely proving herself to being a world-class keeper, and her saves during World Cup 72 qualifying almost allowed Abanhfleft to advance to the World Cup proper that year, and only a slump of form in the second half of the qualifiers prevented the team from achieving that goal. She does tend to have a temper which is bound to flare up if she or the whole team is frustrated, as evidenced by her slap at the Sameban captain during said qualifiers. Overall, though, while she may not be the most acrobatic or sensational of keepers to watch, the fact that she is still between the sticks for Abanhfleft means that she's got quality. World-class quality, even.

GK: Stephanie BRYAN 28 y/o, Antslinngs Islands Ladies

Stephanie Bryan finally gets to represent the blue, orange, and green once again after over four years of sitting out due to a new reliance on the likes of Yannie Redborne and Yelena Valinovskaya to ride the bench while Victoria Carter is on form, but with Redborne now retiring from international footie and Valinovskaya recovering from ligament repair surgery, Steph will now get the chance to be seen riding the Fleftic bench once again. But whether she will be the long-term replacement for Carter and the rest is still up in the air as there are more promising keepers out there, at least according to Holly Jonasson.

RB: Amanda WARREN 30 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies

Amanda is definitely one of the surprise packages of the women's national team's first foray in the World Cup qualifiers as a team. Although this wouldn't come as a surprise for followers of Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies, who know of Godric Wexler's ability to produce world-class players from his team's youth academies. Although obviously she's not yet as world class as Gooners would like people to believe, the potential is there, and regular minutes for both club and country will only help to develop her talent. She finally starts for Abanhfleft after Holly Jonasson's project to create a "new-look" women's team.

RCB: Miriam HANNIBAL 32 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women

Don't let her surname fool you. While she may have the tenacity and patience of a serial killer when it comes to defending, making tackles and chasing loose balls, personally she's a relatable woman who is fun to hang around with, although only her friends are supposed to know that. She's the kind of player that opposing fans love to hate, and Fleftic football fans love it that opposing fans love to hate her. Miriam can play on all sides of the defense, but she prefers the center back position, which she plays to great effect at Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women.

LCB: Claudine SAMANIEGO 34 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies

Who knew that Raisa Korovina's retirement from international football would lead to massive changes within the Fleftic women's national football team? Korovina's retirement finally allows Holly Jonasson to implement a four-man (or should that be four-woman?) defensive line for the Lady Revolutionaries, and she has picked Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies' Claudine Samaniego to fill in for that second center back spot. Claudine is the perfect complement to the attack-minded Miriam Hannibal, staying behind and patrolling the field as the last line of defense in case of counter-attacks. Claudine is also useful when it comes to set pieces, poking home the occasional goal from a free kick or a corner when she feels like it, which admittedly isn't a lot of the time, but it's still good to know that she can contribute when need be.

LB: Tonya HEATON 34 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women

Tonya is a proper left back who could probably get into the starting eleven of any other team out there, and probably even this team, if only the likes of Claire Osgood and/or Dana Valentine were not available or injured or weren't actually playing football at all. Also, she's one of the few truly ambidextrous football players in the country, which is why she could play in either full back position if something should ever happen to the likes of Dana and Claire and maybe even Amanda. Now she is indeed starting for Abanhfleft after Holly Jonasson's decision to create a new-look team with four at the back.

CM: Merida VANCE 27 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies

At just the tender age of 23, Merida has turned herself from a lanky and clumsy girl straight out of the academy with a future as a lower-league player into a vital piece of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies' midfield puzzle, helping the Lady Foresters to both the Ladies' Premier League title and the Women's SFA Cup in the 2014-15 season. Now, two years later, she's still vital to the team then as she is now, and she will serve as a capable backup for her teammate Bella Maynard for both the Emperor's Cup, World Cup qualifiers, and if they make it, the World Cup itself.

RW: Rachel AZUL 30 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies

It's not the Fleftic women's team if it doesn't have two of the most important things in the Fleftic footballing philosophy: wingers and strikers. The starting winger pairing of Addie Singh and Lilly Prescott are backed up by the winger pairing of Rachel Azul and Cecilia Johnson. Rachel is the taller and stronger half of their pairing, and while she's not as fast as Addie and her hold-up play isn't as good as Lilly's, she's still good for peppering the box with crosses for other players to head or volley into the net to close out games, and her height also makes her a threat on the set piece. Even at 26, there's still a lot of potential on tap for her, as evidenced by her move to Arsenal from the Antslinngs Islands alongside CeCe for the princely sum of NS$20m.

LW: Cecilia JOHNSON 30 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies

Looking at Rachel and CeCe, it's obvious to anyone who does what when they're starting. What she doesn't have in terms of height and strength, CeCe more than makes up for it with her speed, pace and wicked curving kick that, when the wind blows the right way, could result in a goal from literally nowhere. Her long legs have earned her the nickname "Giraffe Girl" even though she's not the tallest player from the Antslinngs Academy of Football or even on the national team, and it's those legs that allow her to cover so much ground in so little time. She is also the greater goalscoring threat from open play, cutting into the box and firing off shots at the net, sometimes to the point of ignoring teammates in better and more viable positions. But she can, and has done so from time to time, made the telling pass that leads to a goal.

CAM/CF: Regina MESBROS 35 y/o, Riuwiee United Women

"Good enough for a squad role, not good enough to start." That seems to be the general consensus about Reggie Mesbros right now. She had such a bright career ahead of her, in the days of women's football in Abanhfleft when the Mythical Five of Riuwiee State University were still in high school and had other interests. She was supposed to be the future of women's football. Instead, on the day before it was said that she was to finally receive a call-up for the national team, she got injured in a league game between Riuwiee United and West Releinthi. She never really recovered her earlier luster after that injury. The talent's still there, there's no denying that; but Reggie doesn't feel the need to show it as much as she used to anymore. And with the rise of the Mythical Five, it was inevitable that even though she may be a part of the national team, she was now only good enough for the substitutes. But she can still provide from the bench that levelheadedness that can see the squad through some tough periods in games.

FW: Karen VILLEGAS 27 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies

It's very rare for someone as short as Karen to be a football player, let alone a striker. But against all odds, not only did she become a good football player, she's also become one of the best players of her generation. Karen was a prodigy even at a very young age, but she nearly ended up not playing football twice: first, when she was shot in the neck (not fatally, thankfully) during the Holy Catholic Revolution of 2008, and second, when the expected growth spurt upon hitting puberty never actually happened. But after seeing the likes of Sonny Torres, Chelsea Stuart and Alex Rousseau succeed at the top flight of women's football in Abanhfleft, she trialled for Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies and was admitted into their academy. Eight years later, Karen is now an international player and Rousseau's striker partner at Rosenpfelblatz.

Abanhfleft in general, and the city of Markovsky in particular, has always been a melting pot of various cultures, faiths and beliefs, and Sofie is the embodiment of that multicultural spirit. Born and raised in the majority-Russian city of Markovsky to a mixed Hungarian and Irish family, Sofie inherited the hardworking spirit of the two peoples from which she descended, and when many others would have given up and quit, Sofie continued working her way up the ranks of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies, and she broke through to the first team just in time for the Lady Foresters to achieve the Ladies' Premier League and Women's SFA Cup double. She moved to Lionesses in Armeia as part of the club's rebuilding process, after a plane crash killed most of the players of the old team, and her performances and general hard work have earned her a starting spot in the club.

This is the second time that Oontaz Dert Li Ng will be participating in the World Cup qualifiers. Oontaz got through undefeated in the group stage of the Baptism of Fire 61 but was knocked out in the round of 16 by Arioslavia. Despite a turbulent early history which saw both religious groups fighting constant wars and rebellions, by the time Abanhfleft came and "occupied" the nation in 1921, a general "peace" had settled between the two groups, and today both are content to consider each other as Oontazniks. Despite being a sultanate, the freedom of religion is valued by the nation, although it would be good advice to say that while the Catholics and Christians might be welcoming, even accommodating, to foreigners of strange new religions, the Muslims might not be so welcoming.

And then Karim was surprisingly sold back to his old Oontaznik club Pasargad Manitogoro and while Karim's goalkeeping skills didn't diminish, going back to his homeland seemed to have made Emir Usamah (the old manager of the team) forget all about Karim and his contributions to the Oontaznik national team during their historic run to the Coalition Cup (an informal tournament held between the national teams of Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz, and Copper Cuprum). Following Oontaz's (unsurprising) exit in the Round of 16 of AOCAF 52 to Osarius, Ador Macaspac remembered that Karim still exists and called him back up to the squad.

Marco Portencio is one of the new faces on the Oontaznik national football team following the sacking of Emir Usamah and the elevation of Ador Macaspac from star striker to new team manager. Marco is a quality right back who is already showing flashes of world-class brilliance, kind of like a cheap Oontaznik version of Hector Bellerin. He has pace in buckets, and he is also good for scoring a goal or two per season.

Decent Oontaznik center backs can be hard to find, especially decent Oontaznik center backs in their early 30s or so, because in their day, attack was favored very highly over defense in the Oontaznik leagues, and therefore few 30-years-old-or-so Oontaznik defenders are actually any good at defending. Makhdoum Macaraig is one of those few rare defenders. His slow speed and ponderous build meant that he was never really suited to be anywhere near an attacking role, but that hasn't stopped him from having a good career at Abanhfleft's Locomotive Imgortur, which plays in the Fleftic Premier League. Perhaps there really are players who were meant to play in one league and not any other league.

LCB: Honesto CAMPANILLA 27 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi

Sometimes it is lamentable that in a competition where experience and leadership would be most valuable in a back line, all that could be scraped up was a single slow defender who somehow made it big in Abanhfleft's top flight, and a bunch of young talent that could make it or break it at any day. Campanilla, or Estong as he likes to be called, has slightly more potential than the other defenders in the team, and he also has a slightly higher chance of being an actually good player than the others. Sure, he slide-tackles at every opportunity, and it is easy for an experienced forward or even midfielder to get him booked, but Estong only has to learn to not swing himself around like a mace and he could make it big like his big partner in the center, Makhdoum Macaraig.

LB: Martin OPULENCIA 24 y/o, Real Mikkaleth

Another new face from Ador Macaspac's new look Oontaznik team. Martin is a resolute left back who doesn't shrink away from making any challenges, even against players normally acknowledged as "untouchable" by other teams' defenses. He is content to remain at the back, defending his goal when needed, but sometimes he might be commanded to come up for an attack, and he doesn't shrink away from scoring a goal or two per season either.

DM: Timothy SAN MARCELINO 28 y/o, General Santos FC

Of course it wouldn't be a real Oontaznik football team if a Santos player wasn't there. And in this part of the team, it looks as if Emir Usamah has finally assembled a team capable of making it through the World Cup qualifiers with at least a few draws and maybe a win or two. SanMar, as he's called by Oontaz fans, is, as his position states, a defensive midfielder, meaning that his main purpose is to break up any attacks attempted by the opponents before they reach the pitiful defense and the sadly shocking goalkeeper. It's a job that he does well enough that he's earned a starting spot in the most prestigious team in Oontaz Dert Li Ng.

CM: ABU NAYEF Ismailuddin 28 y/o, Pasargad Manitogoro

No one really thought much of Abu Nayef's inclusion to the national team since he was one of those players who was good enough in the league to get a spot in the national team, but not good enough to get a starting spot. But he's starting to earn a spot in Emir Usamah's team sheet, since he's turned out to be one of the surprise players of Oontaz's World Cup qualifying campaign. By now, he's a shoo-in for a spot on the bench, and if the going gets tough, he can handle a starting spot.
IMPORTANT: This player should be always referred to as Abu Nayef since Ismailuddin is a patronym.

RM: Haider ZULFIKAR 30 y/o, Riuwiee United

Sometimes it can be such a shame when a good and promising player like Zulfikar ends up rotting on the bench, being unable to help his team even though he knows that he just might be the final piece of the puzzle that rescues a league campaign gone horribly wrong. Zulfikar was a member of the infamous Riuwiee United team that blew an eight-point lead at the summit of the Fleftic Premier League and turned it into an insurmountable five-point gap between first and third, where the Blue Tribesmen ended up to allow their rivals Arsenal de Releinthi to claim the title. Now, with the likes of Shinji Ikeda and Hamengkubuwono sold off or relegated to the bench, Zulfikar now has to show that he could be the change that Riuwiee and Oontaz Dert Li Ng needs.

CAM: Karimabdul DIMAINTINDIHAN 29 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC

Karimabdul became a rising star within both Abanhfleft and Oontaz when he scored a number of brilliant goals for Thereisnogodistan in the now-defunct Multiverse Premier League. His stock only rose up even further with his contributions to helping Thereisnogodistan get promoted to the Fleftic Premier League. He is the playmaking kind of attacking midfielder, setting up his teammates in scoring positions and holding up the ball if necessary. If he has a weakness, though, it's that sometimes he waits until he's crowded by the defense before making a pass. He's also making his first appearance for the national team since Magomedun Mangudadatu broke his leg in three places in an undislosed accident outside of the pitch.

LM: ZULFIQLI bin Alisher 27 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi

Sometimes, there comes a time that a team becomes so full of talent in the midfield that someone has to be dropped for the sake of the other players. Zulfiqli was... someone who had this happen to him. Everyone knows of Godric Wexler's reputation for finding and producing world class players from relative unknowns. He had done much the same with Zulfiqli, but unfortunately for the Oontaznik, his quality only appeared when Wexler had finally fixed his problems in his midfield. He knew that Zulfiqli would need starting minutes if he was to keep his spot in the starting eleven of the Oontaz national team, and that's why he was loaned to Pridnestrovia's Union Rheinburg. And now Zulfiqli's a vital component to the Eisern Union's surprise title challenge in the Pridnestrovian Super League.
IMPORTANT: This player should always be referred to as Zulfiqli since bin Alisher is a patronym.

Full name Zito Leandro Gomes de Araujo. Godzilla got his nickname because of his spinal vertebrae sticking right through his skin, giving him the appearance of being the legendary kaiju, at least in terms of the dorsal spines. Godzilla (the player) is actually quite short for a forward, but that only means that he's got a low center of gravity which makes it difficult for the opposition to tackle him unless they really commit to it in which case it often results in a yellow or a red card. Godzilla used to be a fixture in the Oontaznik national team and this was the reason why Godric Wexler picked him up for Arsenal but both Godzilla and Arsenal were going through a rough patch when Emir Usamah was assembling his World Cup qualifying team and he didn't even give Godzilla the time of day then. But now that Ador Macaspac is managing the team, he's bringing back his old teammates for a renewed push at the AOCAF title.

RESERVES
GK: Septimio BARRANQUILLANO 31 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao

Maranao is renowned in Oontaz as being one of the best football academies, if not the best, in the country. It also has a reputation of producing good goalkeepers from its ranks. Unfortunately, Septimio is not one of those good keepers. Sure, he's decent, and can pull off a save that could be considered world-class, but for all intents and purposes, if he really was one of the good keepers, he would not be playing in Oontaz anymore, especially not for a mid-table side like Botafogo.

GK: Usamah ROBERTS-INGLES 23 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao

At least Botafogo's goalkeeper academy produced another good one. Unfortunately for him, he's both too young to be the national team's starting keeper, and he's also the son of a marriage between an Oontaznik and a foreigner, so discrimination is coming into play in here. But not by much, because he's so good and the other keepers are so... crap that Emir Usamah had no choice but to call him up even though both of them know that goalie Usamah won't get to play while Emir Usamah's the manager.

DEF: Alimuddin DIMAGIBA 34 y/o, Deportivo Mangudadatu

Alimuddin is probably the only reason why Deportivo Mangudadatu is still in the National League even though the team is basically relegation material. He's the only player on that team who looks like he still gives a f--- if the team wins or loses. All of the other players around him is his club look like they don't even care anymore, and it's a wonder why he hasn't asked to be transferred to another team. Maybe because he knows that only Mangudadatu's rivals, Racing Al-Ampatuan, would be willing to buy him for the inflated price that he knows that Deportivo will attach to him. If he has any fault in him, it's that he's too loyal to something and would not, could not let go even given time.

DEF: Zenofilo BATOBALANI 28 y/o, Racing Al-Ampatuan

It's not a real Oontaznik national football team if there isn't any player from Racing Al-Ampatuan in the roster, and Batobalani fits that role nicely. Al-Ampatuan used to be one of the biggest teams in Oontaz, constantly competing with Santos and Botafogo for titles and cups, but lately they've been on a bit of a decline, and now they're considered relegation fodder just like their traditional rivals, Deportivo Mangudadatu. Batobalani once had a future of being one of the greatest Oontaznik defenders of all time, and not just the present time but of all time. But instead of moving on to more prestigious teams and letting his talent get noticed, he decided to stick it out with the constant relegation scraps between Mangudadatu and Al-Ampatuan. Perhaps it would be prudent not to mention the loaded contract that he was given by the team owners, who have been accused of masterminding one of the greatest massacres in recent history, and also one of the biggest benefactors of the nation's endemic corruption culture...

DEF: Albert James DIMACATARUNGAN 30 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi

Dimacatarungan's surname means "unfair" in the Mayin language, but this time, there's nothing unfair about his being on the bench. Dimacatarungan shouldn't even be anywhere near the Oontaz national team, but since he's a member of Clan Dimacatarungan, he gets a spot in the final roster. At least Emir Usamah isn't stupid enough to choose him over Estong Campanilla who, as said before, has, at least, a definite chance of becoming an actual quality player instead of Dimacatarungan, who is just plain shit. Strange to see him still in the team now that Emir Usamah is gone...

DEF: Jericson SARIMANOK 24 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi

Gryphons are currently the team with the best defense in the Oontaz National League, so it's actually no surprise that a lot of their defenders have been called up for national duty. What is surprising is that Jericson is not playing with the starting eleven and is instead languishing on the bench with the rest of the reserves. Oh, wait; there is a logical explanation for this: Oontaznik clan politicking. Emir Usamah does have to balance clan politics with creating the best Oontaznik team there is, and Jericson was just one sacrifice in many on the altar of clan politics.

MID: Ronson "Ronnie" RAMIREZ 26 y/o, Riuwiee United

Georges Leblanc spent 5 million new penenks to get Ramirez from Real Altamarino to the May 26 Memorial, but it seems a little bit too soon to say if he's had any impact in the Blue Tribesmen, and Leblanc has seen it fit to loan Ramirez out to Real Mikkaleth, who will be making to make yet another promotion push next season. Ronnie is more of a winger than a proper midfielder, but since Oontazniks never really believed in investing in proper wingers, Ronnie can fill in for that central midfield role, but not as well as when he's deployed as a real winger. Still, at least he's got a chance of breaking through and becoming a good and decent player, unlike the majority of the rest of his teammates.

MID: Macario "Mac-Mac" CORTES 27 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis

Yet another promising Oontaznik youngster lured away from his home by the prestige and glamour of the Fleftic Premier League. The good thing is that Emir Usamah is setting up the team for the future, meaning that he's getting the most promising young Oontaznik players and getting them playing time with the senior team, which he knows will eventually be replaced by the youngsters once the veteran players grow old and retire. At least his reasons for being on the bench are much more justified than the others: he's still a little bit too young to be playing in the first team, and Magomedun Mangudadatu is still the best in the game in his position as CAM, which is also Mac-Mac's favored playing position. At least he gets to learn from one of the best.

MID: Josef "Joey Boy" MACALACAN 30 y/o, Union Rheinburg

Joey Boy is the classic box-to-box midfielder, balancing offensive and defensive duties and covering as much of the pitch as possible. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to focus on one specific duty for too long, and by the duty he could mentally shift himself from being an attacking player to a defensive player or vice versa, it's often too late, and the defense had been overrun by a competent opponent.

Another one of the old breed of Oontaznik players who were overlooked by Emir Usamah during the Sultanate's first foray into the World Cup due to clan commitments. Another reason why Uzi Tza'eer (named after the man who created the Uzi SMG) was not called up to the Oontaznik national team was because he was at the time going through a very poor run of form (12 consecutive games without scoring a goal) and Emir Usamah understandably didn't want to risk Uzi remaining cold in the Baptism of Fire and the World Cup. But now that he's back among the goals once again, Ador Macaspac is ready to give Uzi a way back into the national team.

FW: Oren YA'AKOVI 36 y/o, Riuwiee United

Legend has it that Oren Ya'akovi's self-confidence is exceeded only by that of the likes of the famous (or infamous if you want to look at it that way) Timo Skye. It doesn't help that Oren Ya'akovi looks almost exactly like Timo Skye. It's as if someone cloned Timo Skye and managed to get the looks right but not exactly the talent itself. Nevertheless, Oren is a good enough footballer that he managed to make it into a stacked Riuwiee United side and is still carrying the Blue Tribesmen after almost a decade of faithful service and he's finally making his way back to the national team as well thanks to compatriot and fellow member of the "Oontaznik golden generation" Ador Macaspac.

FW: Eduardo ESTEVEZ 27 y/o, FK Torpedo Telgrad

Eduardo is a decent striker for his age, and there's definitely room for him to grow and take up Ador Macaspac's mantle when Oontaz Dert Li Ng's star striker finally decides to hang up his boots. But it looks like this won't be the case, as Teofisto Abcede surprised everyone else and took over Estevez's spot as Macaspac's backup striker option. Still, there's no denying that Eduardo can become one of Oontaz's best strikers after the age of Dominador Macaspac draws to a close, but it's up to him to realize that potential. Santos FC sold him to Arioslavia's FK Torpedo Telgrad in exchange for Alexey Bulganin. Now starting in place of the retired Ador Macaspac, who has become the new team manager after Emir Usamah was sacked.

Kirishima would later enter Baptism of Fire 58 and after just barely exiting the Group stage, Kirishima as the bottom #16 Seed upset #1 Seed San Llera and defeated Maretta to reach the semi-finals. The Kitsunes unfortunately finished fourth and bitter fans refer to the top 3 teams as the "Puppet Show".

Kirishinan expectations were much smaller going into the WC 71 and look to at least qualify for the main cup. The Kitsunes looked like they were contenders early on but struggled as they were in a really difficult Group mixed with Kirishima playing too balanced a game against the high-powered offense while lacking enough offense to dismantle defensively disciplined teams. Kirishima would have a mediocre showing in the Cup of Harmony with the only notable news being the historic upset against Cosumar.

The Kitsunes then went into World Cup 72 with a miserable first half that had Kyosuke on the hot seat until they turned things around and finished 4th in the group, thus giving Hikaru the rank boost he sought. Kirishima then entered into WC 73 with the main objective being finishing at least mid table and entering COH with stronger momentum. The Kitsunes failed to finish midtable (4th) and enter the COH because they shockingly finished 2nd, a feat only predicted by the media in Saintland and won their playoff game to advance to the world cup proper for the first time. The Kitsunes Rank increased by 45↑, thus leapfrogging the team from 86 to 41 a reflection of the fast rise of the young Kitsune team.

World Cup 74 saw the addition of a new player, Konami Premier League Rookie of the Year Akiho Ubukata. The Kitsune sought to qualify to their second ever World Cup in back to back editions were a tight group and a heartbreaking loss on MD 1 and MD 13 made it seem that the Kitsunes may have to test their luck in the playoffs. The thought impossible unranked Union of American Democrats draw with 14th ranked Turori sent the Kitsunes a heart attack preventing instant qualification where as usual like previous WC and COH the Kitsune upset the strongest team in the group while getting dismantled by everyone else.

With a Historic World Cup 75 , Kirishima sought to 1) Qualify a third time and not miss out on a memorable cup 2) Try and finally Reach round of 16. With the Kitsunes ranked in the 20's and a group draw going according to plan it seemed like that history would be made, and made it was. The Kitsunes had multiple chances they lost due to draws against lowly teams. Emerging from the ashes of the Kitsunes failed campaign is a new rival. One unlike never before seen gone are the days of friendly rivalries with Devonta and in comes a rivalry with Nordeana and of bad blood and hatred for reserved for Anglatia. Not only did they rob the Kitsunes of a playoff berth, they did it in an insulting manner. Gone is the era of Kyosuke as manager, the inexperience fairy tale story of a civilian interim manager with zero experience who brought the Kitsunes to lightning success in qualifying. His failure in being unable to reach a Round of 16 outside of BOF 58 lead to his voluntary and unwanted departure. A World Cup 75 qualifiers that saw once star mid-fielder Seong Mi Soo retire at the end of qualifiers become the new manager leading up to COH 67. With the nation seeking the major tournament Round Of 16 spot the nation so desperately wanted she proved the Kitsunes were not cursed, as she brought the team to the quarterfinals.

With her WCQ debut in World Cup 76 the Kitsunes found themselves at the top of the Group with two upsets against Quebec but round up in a Group of death, not only failing to exit to group stages yet again but for the first time also failing to pick up a point. With the 1st edition of the Independents Cup the Kitsunes had a firm objective of winning silverware and came close to being in a position to do so before falling to Barunia in the quarterfinals. The Kitsunes entered WC 77 with a majority of the stars on the verge of their primes and the KFA under their new chairman, Sakura Katsuragi, had finally had a firm objective, not only qualify for the World Cup but to escape the group stages for the first time. The Kitsunes nearly did not make the World Cup but also were swept once again in the actual world cup. Kirishima is starting to get impatient but as opposed to the last World Cup, are taking their goals one step at a time. Step 1) Qualify and step 2) finally leave the group stages of the World Cup.

Kirishima, as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West, is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima means literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an archipelago comprising of 1,721 islands. They can be divided into seven large and major islands - Hontō, Zipangu, Yamatai, Reijima, Kiyomisu, Iroshima, and Yajiriguni. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and some refugees Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D. These people mixed with Japanese who already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior, along with the local Sungtaku peoples. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the French won one of their few theater conflicts in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.

Kirishima despite having an Asian majority population, has a decent sized European, and African minority. The nation is proud of it's very welcoming and tolerant attitude despite how it looks. It is a moderate nation that can be very liberal on some issues and conservative on others. One such noteworthy example is Kirishima's very sexually open society deeply embedded in the culture and Majority faith (Lake Shore Order/Houism) of the population. At the same time, Kirishima is a very Traditionalist society that sees Kirishinan nationality as a cultural lifestyle rather than racially inherited. As a quick way to tick off a Kirishinan is to not only not be a part of the culture but openly reject it and preach against it (3 strikes of doom). A very important albeit a random piece of information is the prohibition of smoking tobacco. Kirishinan people believe in a clean body and clean environment even before the world found out about those issues. One may be caught off guard by how clean and devoid of litter the cities and metro systems tend to be.

Hyuga is the only city in the island prefecture of Yamatai and is where the most devout Lake Shorian’s dwell. Men and Women from Yamatai are notably known for being very frisky and Nymphomanic, so much so that tourist would need to put a lot of effort to resist the charms of Yamatain. While it's not as noticable in the city, it is still a distinct part of the nation. Mori Park hosts a Globe Cup regular in Hyuga Valkyrie FC and being is a modern stadium of substantial size, perfect to host marquee matches.

During BOF 63 the inclusion of Hyuga for the Baptism of Fire was heavily debated. The reason is for better or worse (depending on who you ask) the rest of the island of Yamatai is on a whole other level in terms of friskiness. There had been foreigners who gone missing in the lush forests with many refusing to return to civilization. However with that said it wouldn’t really be a showcase of Kirishinan culture without the inclusion of Hyuga and its prefecture and the government rather inform more prudish nations rather than not host matches at Mori Park. With the success of BOF 63 the KFA has decided to permanently make it a staple stadia for World Cup Qualifiers.

Seong Mi-Soo Age · 29

This is now Seong Mi-Soo's fourth cycle time coaching. She has played on the national team from World Fair III and BOF 58 until World Cup 75 qualifiers. She was a midfielder with high sports IQ and spent a majority of her time observing former manager Hikaru Kyosuke. She, like Kyosuke, believes that Kirishima should remain an offensive minded team as that what Kirishinans love about the game but the question has always been how offensive should they be. Mi-Soo believes Kyosuke was on the right track but decided to be a twinge more defensive that Kyosuke as to limit the counter attack capabilities of very defensive minded teams.

Makoto Kikuchi Age · 26

Makoto is known as many things a boy? a girl? a miracle worker? Multi-Talented? Nevertheless she has grown up around sports and has always loved it. While attending school she participated in football, Track, and Field, Swimming, basketball, and cycling. She also was discovered for her musical talents she eventually had to choose what she wanted to do with her life and she chose sports and music. During the offseason, Makoto can be seen in dresses performing on stage or seen in swimwear photo shoots but during football seasons she dons a suit and takes to the field as Manager of the Akihabara Electronic OFC. The two different Makoto Kikuchi. In only her first three seasons she managed to build a solid roster and lead the Electric to their first and second ever title in her first two seasons all while keeping the Electric contenders into the present with a third title in her fourth season.

Myeong Hyeon Yi Age · 23

Yes the KFA has provided information on the trainer/team doctor. Why do you ask? Because she is the team doctor and since she is part of the team, plays a role in the outcome of matches. With that said there is not much about her to say besides noting she is the team doctor of Akihabara Electronic OFC which is important as the doctor helps prevent injuries and make sure those injured return to field asap. Something needed in such a competitive domestic league.

Miyoko Hōjō Age · 24

If you live in Kirishima you know her, if you watch Kirishinan games you know her, if you have ever faced against Kirishima you know her. Miyoko Hojo is a former culinary student specializing in Chinese Cuisine. As an athletic individual, she was noticed by both basketball and shockingly football scouts for her potential, height and vertical. She decided to give football a try as it had a more flexible schedule and less chance for injury. The rest was history as she has helped lead the Kitsunes to World Cup Qualifications in each of her first three World Cup experiences as well as keeping Olympique Imgeum-Si as a serious contender domestically. The scary thing for the opposition is her natural ability makes her a top goalkeeper. With her reaching her prime and understanding the game more, she provides a get presence in the goal.
Eizan Iwamoto Age · 22

Young like the rest of the team but unlike them has the position with the least job security. Iwamoto is a former rookie of the year with some pretty big shoes to fill in the historic weak position. Eizan is opportunistic and calculating. Facing off against him can leave opposition dazed and confused. Eizan who sat on the bench last cup cycle will be put through a trial by fire and it remains to be seen if he can heal the Kirishinan Achilles heel. If not then Filipino refugee and emerging rookie of Anegaoka, Miguel Tamayo will be happy to take his place.

Claire Nguyen Age · 25

Young, beautiful and relatively unknown until quite recently. Claire used to be just another defender on the Akihabara Electronic OFC when in one off season she gained a new manager in Makoto Kikuchi and two new players/eventual best friends Joseph Yabuta and Ayame Fujisaka. Nevertheless, the talent that surrounded her raised her game and she took the league by storm. She is quick, precise, and currently known as the slide tackle queen of Kirishima. The one question that is wondered is will she still be as motivated if she played for someone other than Kikuchi or her two BFF? Nevertheless thankfully for her as well as the fans, do not need to find out as her two best friends are also national team material.

Ayame Fujisaka Age · 24

Speaking of Claire's best friends, Ayame Fujisaka at just the age of 21 became the brains of the national team. Despite his age, he now had enough experience to be the captain of the squad, a fact that many Kirishinans have known for a long while. Yes, I said he no he is not a she as he is not transgender. (What a tongue twister) Ayame is well known for his cross-dressing nature but doesn't let your guard down around him as on the pitch he is known for his high football IQ. He is so friendly and knows how to motivate and cheer up anyone. The men and women on the team have always look to him even without the armband. You need someone to talk to he is there, your sore and in need of a massage, he is there. He will do literally anything for you to ensure you will play your maximum potential. He is a reason why Claire has gotten so good. If Seong and Kikuchi are the coaches on the sideline then Fujisaka is the coach on the field. A reputation he has proved and established since his debut with Yabuta on the Kairaku Nymphs before they both went to Akihabara. He is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles.

Koharu Miyamoto Age · 23

Koharu is a free spirit both on and off the field whose player type resembles Miyoko Hojo. She is the type that had no prior football experience and was recruited solely based on various intangibles such as speed and stamina in her specific case. A long distance track star in school her father recruited her to play for his Nabaek Sylph a move that had fans stark mad. Sure just a season prior Hojo found success, left back was different from Goalkeeper and many saw it as a parental preference. Koharu worked hard to salvage her father's name and proved herself to consistently be the first name on any teamsheet. If that was not enough, she added goal scoring to her arsenal so any team unprepared may find themselves shocked by the defender who is the most likely to score in a corner or even more shock to see her sneak past a lagging defender, receive an onside through ball and drill in a goal....once again I remind you she is a defender.

Rin Mizoguchi Age · 20

A year younger and teammate of former rookie of the year, as well as current Primer League champion and first time NT starter, Akiho Ubukata. Cup of Harmony 67 saw the teammate replace the other as the starter. He has helped put Hyuga back on the map and like Akiho is a local from Yamatai prefecture. Seong Mi-Soo is looking to re-add some male strength to the midfield position and it's also hard to deny one of the team's goal scorers a spot. In recent performances, he has been a consistent threat and contributor to the Kitsunes goal scoring endeavors

Pandazi Papadopoulos Age · 31

How to summarize Pandazi Papadopoulos? Well, he is one of the only players on the national team to play on the pre-BOF team, he is the oldest player on the team, and currently the only player on the national team to play abroad. Pandazi is an experienced veteran that the team can count on when the rest of the young team is cold. Papadopoulos is a former captain and is good nay talented at getting the ball to the proper areas of the field.

Ako Izumi Age · 24

Ako is an intelligent, opportunistic, and team oriented girl who is the best passer on the team. Her sole purpose in her opinion was to make others look good though her passing. She loves dribbling the ball and feels immense satisfaction after an assist. Ako has become more of a scorer since she left AC Kawajiri Tanuki, while she did not appreciate how Bianka Schraeder from Armeia treated her team, Ako seemed to realize that while the assist was great she had to once in awhile score herself should the opportunity arise. She is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles and a key part of the Ballista with her specialty being her goal scoring from free kicks.

Renée Guidice Age · 21

This may be a bit surprising to some but Renée Guidice has earned a place in the starting rotation over Sayo Matsuoka. Renée is a goal scorer who was eventually eclipsed by Sylvain Gainsborough and Nita Jagr. With her dissatisfaction in the club's direction, Renée joined LB Koharu Miyamoto and Midfielder from Cosumar Li H'sen Lang in Nabaek. Having found a resurgent in her game Guidice was a high-impact scorer while Matsuoka's Matthew Mets struggled. Renée has taken advantage of this opportunity and does not seem poised to lose that spot anytime soon. On and off the field Renée is a friendly soul who serves as a role model in sportsmanship and character.

Josuke Ichikawa Age · 23

Josuke is a phenomenal scorer who is often seen as the main rival to Yabuta. A few World Cup qualifiers ago his Childhood friend since elementary school Sayo Matsuoka took his spot. However, his impact was missed and rather than replace Matsuoka who played well, Ichikawa replaced Nayasaki, thus putting the two Enrika natives at the wings. With Matsuoka coming off the bench, Jouske is more determined to ensure he maintains bragging rights in regards to his and Sayo's careers. Josuke has good ball control and has a dangerous cross that can change the flow of any game suddenly. Penalty kicks are his greatest strength and no one is more calm, cool, and collected as he is.

Joseph Yabuta Age · 24

Despite what this humble young man would say, Yabuta is the undisputed star and goal scorer for the Kirishinan national team. Yabuta loves to score and scores he can whether it be left foot, right foot, head, knee, etc. Yabuta plays to have fun and his speed is borderline unfair. In his four-year career, Yabuta has won four championships (1 with Kairaku, 3 with Akihabara). It is safe to assume that if Kirishima scores in a game that Yabuta was behind it. This means he either scored or at least assisted on a goal. That type of consistency is very valuable. Yabuta joins his best friends Ayame and Claire in this year's national team as he remains a crucial cornerstone to the generation of miracles.

Tactic: "The Supported Ballista" 4-3-3 +2.68
Manager Seong is still using Kyosuke tactic at least until the end of Cup of Harmony. She is a bit more focused on counter attacking with her notable defenders Ayame Fujisaka who has a great mind for the game and the tomboy former university track star Koharu Miyamoto whose speed, passing and footwork enables her to get up the field quickly and in the position to opt a pass to a midfielder. However, in this version, Miyamoto does not join in the attack and after making a pass retreats back down the field. Claire Nguyen had a great season with Akihabara and is on the starting line up with teammates Yabuta and fellow center back Fujisaka. With Izumi and Papadopoulos on the field, they can place the ball in a great positioning of any of the Kitsunes capable strikers like Yabuta to drill the ball into the net. Also with Yabuta's almost unnatural ability to score of volley's it will become obvious how Yabuta made the Baptism of Fire 58 squad. Guidice and Ichikawa will provide offensive support. Seong Mi-Soo hopes that this will put less pressure on Hojo who can only handle so many counterattacks.

PLAYSTYLE
The Savojar team plays a defensive game, relying on its size, strength and speed to score. It tries to trap the opponent and counters quickly. Set balls are a strength of the team, as are games against quick, technical opponents. Weaknesses of the team are making the game and getting through an organised defense. The team decided not to change much since the relatively successful WC77 campaign. They play a defensive 4-4-1-1 with two rather defensive midfielders, which are mainly focused on destroying the creative element of the opposition. On counter attacks, the wingers tend to pull towards the corner of the box, while the wingbacks try to join the attack and deliver crosses to Karjanen in the middle.

The national stadium of Savojarna, the Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman, is located in the northeast of Sjoedrhavn, the nation's capital. It was built 1991 as a replacement for the old Savojarstadion, and renamed after the revolutionary leader and first Head of State of Savojarna, Carl Gustaf Bjurman. As a symbol for the national unity and pride, it is not used by any football team as a home stadium, but for national events. One of the biggest events in the stadium is the New Year's Celebration, when the stadium is always full for a combination of concerts and speeches of the national elite. Further recurring events are the celebration of Revolution Day, when the Head of State speaks in front of the masses, and the yearly cup final of Savojarna. The stadium is known for its comfort and that it is usually sold out. The athmosphere somewhat suffers from the athletics track, but it is far the biggest stadium of Savojarna.

Background

The Brigantii F.A. have done their best to gloss over the.. ermm... xenophobia, for want of a better word, from the previous campaign and would hope the rest of the multiverse had let it slip too, particularly the elves of Valanora who the Stags played twice in the previous qualifying campaign.

Quietly, the fans involved in any incidents have been banned from attending the stadium and the coach, brought in especially by the F.A. to oversee the team in line with their vision has been let go. Meanwhile, the doddering Colten Cedar Harden who had been all for the men's team segregating themselves from other genders/species etc. had stepped down due to ill health and this motion has kinda gone by the wayside.

Meanwhile and most confounding of all, the Brigantii F.A. have hired Rinar Vonast as head coach. If you haven't heard of him, we're not surprised, the man from Ang Grung is hardly a household name in international football and nobody's first choice. Having led Ang Grung side Bell Ringers Coalition to the Ang Grung league title and then the knockout rounds of the Wyrmgore Champion's League the man from Knurl Karag (or for those of us who speak English and not Grungish Stone Mountain) was ushered into the Brigantii hot seat..

World Cup 78 Qualifiers Squad

Coach: Rinar Vonast – The 45 year old steps into his biggest job to date and has been nothing but excited to talk to the Brigantii press. He won the league in his native country with a strong focus on defence and managed to guide the club to the Wyrmgore Champion's League. His tactics have seen the formation shift to a 4-5-1 and the team is likely to play an unappealing long ball game... probably. We won't really know until his first game in charge.

Assistant: Boar Gamaldun. Boar was Rinar's assistant at Bell Ringers and got the job as his right hand man as the two seem to work pretty well together.

GKP: Trent Harrell (Bishopbury, Brigantii) The shot stopper made a big money switch to Bishopbury and became the most expensive keeper in the country, however the big news is we've now collectively settled on a spelling for his surname, two R's and two L's (disregard formation image)

RB: Teddy Lowe (Rookscroft United, Brigantii) The right back will make his international debut after impressing at United, taking over from former international Harry Melville.

CB: Tim Waldroup (Hogghampton, Brigantii) The centreback was part of last year's second tightest defence alongside Harrell and has developed quietly into one of the best defenders in the league.

CB: Jamie Gallagher (Albertpool, Brigantii) Solid at the back with a no-nonsense approach to defending. The Brigantii regular will launch the ball into row Z before trying something flashy.

LB: Phillipe Bakayoko (Iron Bridge, Brigantii) The left back is yet to turn 18 and is the youngest player in the squad, but his performances in the league have catapulted him into the national team.

RM. Zack Wilbraham (Rookscroft United, Brigantii) United's wing forward has been picked over established right wingers for his pace and will cause defences throughout qualifying trouble.. maybe, if the plan isn't to just lump the ball up field.

CM. Russ Baker (Rookscroft City, Brigantii) The stocky midfielder might not look like he has a neck, but... I can't remember where I was going with that.

CM. Clem Batley (Torkingham Wanderers, Brigantii) Clem has been a feature in the Premier League for several years and has been rewarded for his hard work with his first call up to the national team. Also helps he is pretty good at breaking up play.

LM. Byron Samuels (Albertpool, Brigantii) The left back has a habit of pushing up from defence and joining the attack and as such, the new coach has opted to deploy him on the left side of midfield.

AM. Aaron Ramsbottom (Marketnewton, Brigantii) The flashy midfielder is a multiple title winner and one of the more exciting players to pull on a Brigantii shirt.

CF. Michael Irwin (Real Minanda, Cusco) The diminutive, talismanic, record scoring centre forward pulls on the number nine shirt and will be looking to add to his bulging haul. He's now also sporting a rather nice tan having spent the last season playing in Cusco.

CM. Jody Matthewson (Albertpool, Brigantii) The youngster has impressed in his break out year and will get some much needed experience being round the national team.

LM. Bo Buchanan (Sellersfield United, Brigantii). With McNamara injured Buchanan is the country's only other REAL left winger. He does have a league goal against Rookscroft United and apparently the attention of other clubs...

CF. Jaxson Mitchell (Jonastown United, Brigantii) The forward is becoming a cult figure at Jonastown and the only bright spark in an otherwise mediocre squad.

CF. Trevor Winter (Marketnewton, Brigantii) League winner and regular for the Stags, the powerful striker has regularly managed goals for both his club and country.

CF. Carl Andrews (Brierthorne, Brigantii) If deployed, the Brierthorne striker would be a target man and you can bet your ass the focal point of the new manager's possible long ball game... maybe.

Brigantii's home games are played at the 90,000 seater Warbury Stadium. The stadium has been home to the national team for well over one hundred years and is located in the district of Warbury in the capital city Eborum.

For visiting teams and fans, Brigantii is a modern nation, with good public transport. The language spoken is Brigantii English and written form allows for the use of U in words like colour and favourite. The people of Brigantii like a beer, which means the fans can get a little rowdy, but there hasn't been any problem with hooliganism for decades. The locals appreciate proper manners, please and thank you will get you a long way and if you're stuck for something to talk about, just mention the weather.

The Scottopian Isles Football Association (SIFA), one of the eldest football associations in Astyria, has overseen the operations of the domestic league since 1872 when they hosted the first competitive season between 8 teams, all of which were from the cities of New Greenock & Urquhart which are just 17 miles from each other across the Urquhart Channel. 4 teams still remain today from these original 8, which are New Greenock Football Club, New Greenock United, Rangers Football Club & Urquhart Rampants. Travel between more distant islands was difficult for a grass-roots operation at first and was confined to the 2 cities.

By 1902, the game had become extremely popular across the islands and SIFA moved forward with the establishment of the Island League for teams from the Council of the San Joaquin Isles and The Northern League was created for those hailing from the northern & eastern regions of the Isle of Scottopia while rebranding the New Greenock/Urquhart competition as the Southern League. East Kilbride Football Club, MacKenzie City, MacKenzie Whitecaps, Milpitas Bay, North Shore United & Real Junipero Serra are all teams that still exist to this day from these expansion leagues.

By the 1920s, transportation technology had allowed further distances to be made in shorter times allowing the merger between the separate divisions within Scottopian Football into a singular body in 1926. To great success, 20 teams now competed in 2 divisions with a promotion/relegation system between them. Unfortunately, the Scottopian Civil War and then the Great Astyrian War where to break out soon after, which placed a hold on the activities of SIFA until the closure of hostilities almost a decade later. Due to a majority of the leagues players being drafted, many teams ceased to exist during this time.

With the resumption of games following the end of the Civil War & the Great Astyrian War, several new clubs were created by funds of the SIFA to fill in positions left by teams that no longer existed, to continue with the 20 Team/2 League system with such teams as Cappielow Cavaliers, Davanzas United, Port Elisabeth, Scottopia City and Scottopian Capitols joining the fray. To create a bond of national unity following the war, the option to crate a National Team was also undertaken.

In the decades following, many teams came and went but the league had expanded to 32 teams who competed in 3 divisions and continued this fashion until 2015 at the creation of the Elite Astyrian Football League, of which the Scottopian Isles Football Association is a founding member. At that time, 16 Scottopian teams were chosen to represent their home nation in the first Multi-National Football League in the region which consisted of 64 teams from 12 countries in 4 divisions. The EAFL was created to bring a higher professional level of play to more Astyrian nations in hopes to create further excitement and talent region wide, which has now expanded to 120 clubs from 24 countries in 5 divisions. The Scottopian Isles hosted the inaugural Terra Indicium in 2016 and were crowned their first champions, and look to defend their title in the upcoming games.

The Scottopian Isles national team along with other footballing nations from the region of Astyria were fundamental in the establishment of the Astyrian International Football Association (AIFA), which began the Astyrian Cup of Nations, competing yearly since 1968. Since its inception, the Royal CommonWealth has hosted the event 3 times (1971, 1988 & 2017) and have been crowned champions twice (2008 & 2009). The Bluebirds were just the 3rd team in AIFA history to successfully defend their title, and the only team to do so in the modern era of the tournament. In addition to these feats, they were AstyCup Runners-Up in 1967 and have been Semi-Finalists 4 times (1978, 1989, 1996 & 2015). They have also competed in the Baptism of Fire LX, the Independant Associations Cup II and World Cups LXXIII & LXXVIII.

About: A most impressive sight, located just outside the capitol city's financial district is the largest venue within the Royal CommonWealth is the Scottopian Isles National Stadium, or 'ScotStand' as the local population tends to refer to it as. The stadium as it is today was constructed on top the ground that once hosted the former Scottopia National Stadium which was built in 1926. When several safety concerns were addressed in the early 2000's, a consortium between the Scottopian Isles Football Association and the government led to the development of the National Stadium with an increase from 60,000 to 100,000 capacity. 'ScotStand' is the center for football within the Scottopian Isles, with all domestic tournament finals being played there. It also hosts a majority of the National Teams home games when playing international opponents. Being so, the stadium contains a Scottopian football museum, adjacent training complex and a restaurant overlooking the field with a view of Scottopia City.

About: During the 1980s, the 2 teams from New Greenock were dominating the Scottopian Premiership with both teams winning a combined 21 of 30 available trophies during the decade. Both being historically established teams, the idea that their current grounds were to small for each of the New Greenock fan base was evident to both the United & FC support groups. Although the cross-city rivals may just be the most fierce in all of the Royal CommonWealth, both teams came together to create their new stadium. At was once an aged horse racing track, the grounds were raised and the current stadium was established which at until 2007, was the largest stadium in the Scottopian Isles.

About: In an effort to bring prestige back to the city after the transfer of the nations capitol to Scottopia City, officials for Urquhart envisioned a grand stadium to which they could one day host the famed Astyrian Games or the Olympics. In collaboration with King William, the city erected the Royal Coliseum close to the southern shoreline to catch the view of the ocean liners than frequented the Scottopian waters. Although the Olympic dream has yet to come true, the stadium was host to the 1966 & 1982 Astyrian Games to grand audience at home and abroad. While it is one of the largest venues in the Royal CommonWealth that only one premiership team calls their home turf, the arena is also known to be the second home to the national squad.

As with most within the Council of San Joaquin, a majority of the population can Spanish as well as Scots-English, giving the stadium its Hispanic name and alternate design than the norm from the rest of the country.

About: With the conditions of the Northern Highlands being a different than the tropical beaches and rainforests found across the rest of the islands, the 5th largest city in the archipelago constructed the MacKenzie Dome, the only indoor arena within the country. With the bubbled construction of the venues roof, it keeps the elements that usually harass MacKenzie City for the better part of the year that interrupted games in the decades before. Another stadium that is home to two teams within the Scottopian Isles Football Association, it gives an easy advantage to the home sides at the elevation of 793ft, the highest elevation of any Royal CommonWealth stadium, which can wear down the opponents not used to the change in oxygen levels. Although not home to many national team games, they do use the facilities to prepare for oversea's games that are at higher elevations.

But make no mistake once you are inside the grounds, the atmosphere is one that rivals the "main islands" love of the game that does not easily hide into its surroundings.

About: The newest stadium in the Scottopian Isles and one of the most unique in Astyria, the Queens Waterside Park was constructed under direction from King Scott James who also designed the entire project. Built in beautiful Port Elisabeth in Huntington's Harbor, the venue was a gift to the Queen to host her hometown's team's matches. The Queens, as it is referenced as, has been praised on numerous architectural milestones where floating platforms keep the pitch steady even during not so agreeable weather, but it does already claim the fact that more official game balls have been lost here than all other stadiums in the Scottopian Isles combined.

General Information
It's business as usual for the Electrumite team as they seek to consolidate the successes created in the previous few World Cups. They have managed to maintain their position in around the top twenty, however there was some cause of concern when the team nearly failed to qualify, taking until the very last day to leapfrog Damukuni to second place. In the World Cup proper, they only managed to score a measly singular point, a definite step back from previous performances. When all was said and done however, it was universally agreed by the board of Electrum Football to take on Jeffery Clark for a one-cycle extension to manage the team for another cycle, despite the fall in rank from 15 to 21.

In classic Electrum form a lot of things remain unchanged. The team is unchanged with the last World Cup, with new and exciting Electrumite talent coming down the pipeline in time for the next World Cup. The kits are unchanged. The managers are unchanged. Perhaps this is due to the laziness of the board of Electrum Football, or perhaps due to the lack of attention for the team. The team has been expected to have good results, but the fall in standing has taken a hit to the team's popularity, with more people focusing on the Olympics than ever. What has changed however, is the usual Electrumite line-up, with the team being less reactive and more proactive, becoming less defensive and focusing on a fluid and free-flowing midfield. Therefore, the style modifier has gone from the negatives to zero.

Jemima Bryant, who was hand-picked by Clark himself is not known for her football managing experience, but she makes up for her inexperience with data analysis skills, identifying Electrum's best talent and also the head of Electrum's development program.

As usual, all Electrum home matches are based in Centralis, and are the same, historic venues which have been used in many competitions, including the 76th World Cup Finals as well as the Games of the X Olympiad. The people of Centralis are kind to all and are always willing to have a chat and talk sports, because this really is a sports-mad city. There are little nook and crannies around the broad tree-lined avenues of Centralis, including little neighbourhoods of people from every background imaginable. If your nation has ex-pats in Electrum, they are likely to be found all in one neighbourhood. Olympic Stadium (capacity: 100,000), will be hosting the blockbuster matches. Across the river that cuts Centralis into two is the Centralis Arena (capacity: 40,000). A stunning, boutique arena known for its geodesic design, will host the other matches.

Olympic Stadium will host the Valladares, Jeruselem, UASR and the Kosovakia match. All other Electrum home matches will be in Centralis Arena.

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 78 SQUAD

While the nation took a long break from WCs 8 through 24, the Holy Empire is proud to be the only active nation to have participated in WC 1.

Though it pretends not to be, the nation is equally proud to have won 4 World Cup titles

IMPORTANT OOC INFORMATION FOR WC 78 – The Holy Empire’s involvement in this World Cup will be related via The Mammoth Compendium of World Cup Lies, an occasional series I’ve previously used to describe the World Cup Finals group draw. This World Cup, all Imperial RPs will be related via the Compendium. This means that virtually everything in those RPs will be deliberately untrue. The following will be scrupulously honoured (because there have to be limits somewhere): the names of players on both teams, and the identity of the nation where the match is taking place. Most other details – the description of events, the score, the precise location of the match, the colour of the sky, perhaps even the result (especially if the Empire loses to an unranked team) – will be an outrageous tissue of deliberate falsification. This of course means that details in Holy Empire RPs will usually contradict most details in other nations’ descriptions of the same match. If you RP second, you should not treat the Holy Empire’s RP as an accurate description of the match. IC’ly, the question of ‘what is truth’ (as per this nation’s sig) may be a little murky when dealing with a nation that exists outside of ‘Ordinary Reality’, and where both reality and time are malleable; but for the purpose of the ‘official’ record, your description of your match against the Holy Empire will be considered the ‘true’ RP regardless of whether you RP first or second.

You are, of course, welcome to interact as you see fit with the outrageous untruths in The Mammoth Compendium of World Cup Lies. You can completely ignore my RPs, vigorously denounce them IC’ly, treat them as comedy, describe my nation as completely unhinged, IC’ly complain to the WCC/hosts, or even respond in kind; your reaction is entirely up to you – feel free to be creative.

Style Modifiers / formation

Frosty football is attacking football. The Holy Empire always plays a 3-5-2 formation using overlapping wingers that turns into 3-3-4 on the counterattack.

The team will wear famous Imperial Gold and Red, as worn by the Holy Empire since WC1...

OOC'ly, the kits were designed by Red Blackiland, and the crest by Audioslavia - and I'm entirely grateful; I'm very happy for RB and Audio to take OOC credit. IC'ly, HEFA deny the Mundies had anything to do with it.

Stadium
The Holy Empire plays its home matches in the bejewelled, platinum-domed, and purple stone-walled Imperial Hippodrome, the oldest World Cup venue still in use, and one of the most famous - and impressive - stadiums in the multiverse.

RP instructions:
Have fun; but don't kill anyone, and don't try and launch attacks on the Dreamed Realm - largely because you can't.

Some basic Dreamed Realm RP rules:
Remember that the Dreamed Realm lies entirely outside of Ordinary Reality, and is utterly impervious to harm from what we charmingly call 'mundies'.

Some points to remember about travel to, and playing in, the Dreamed Realm:

1) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm; reality and time are malleable within the Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Imperial home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated, unless permission is received in advance (please file applications for violent rioting in triplicate). Any such behaviour undertaken without appropriate permission will find those responsible immediately transported back to Ordinary Reality.

2) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Empire, a team of Archregimancy monks will arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Empire at your convenience.
