That's the VMR syndrome.. We had contaminated circuit boards.. Shorted the cars out. Picked up the story from Nico Rossberg.

Edit: VMR sound clip... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up1D6CKLb_Y I can't imagine a VMR car sounding any other way in this class. But for originality's sake, let's say it has just a slight less Ferrari whine and a tick more of a growl. Sort of like BMW but more like a muscle car. So basically a Ferrari SRT. SRT12, I guess... That's Vannish Motors' exhaust note.

One of the first things that got me into the series was seeing how certain people developed their chassis. I've always just wanted to see how my company's take would be on it.

Typical Nimban reaction: 'Alright, it looks fairly cool and drives well but it's still a loud, dirty internal combustion engine-driven nightmare...'

Seriously, car culture is vastly, vastly different in the Wardship. For one thing, both the ICE and, on urban roads at least, non-autonomous vehicles are banned, with most road vehicles being electrically driven and a few relying on hydrogen fuel cell technology (though bicycles are also very common and cycle paths a key part of city infrastructure). As such, ideals of supercar and racing car design for most people tend to fall into a paradigm of sleekness and bleeding-edge technology rather than overbearing aggressiveness - though there are some who like that too, of course, Nimbans being who they are.

Well, that's the Wardship and they are fine to think that. We don't market or sell cars there, too far and unprofitable. It still did well enough in the Hodori leagues, which is a pretty tough place for foreign cars and drivers. Besides, those sorts of cars aren't for everyone. Your cars could probably find a limited, but profitable market in Vangaziland, if it were opened. They're open minded. At least one country has to go over the top with a screaming engine though.

Some people say Lamborghinis are gaudy. Those who buy them enjoy that reaction. So that viewpoint of the wardship will be the Yang we need to make our Yen.. I mean Yin. It's not even really a high production car, just available in some international markets.

Note the image credit at the bottom of the page. I wish I was that talented. Hodori did that and I was so impressed. I'm glad to let more people see it and advertise Hodori's leagues. I do 3D renders off the model and actually plan to revise it and the Roland soon. I should also come out with a V-12 car. By then I'll re-open the thread.

The whole race team is filler to help build up to that day. I need a good GE&T company.

I always liked Nexus though. Obviously, 'Chassis Y' was the first I noticed. Took that MRT car and gave it a run. I just like picturing the stories.

Re: Question
It is usually continuously open. It can be tricky to find a team. But if you prove to be a consistent RPer you might get a spot. I guess the host will give you a little more info in a bit. Reach out to some teams maybe.

Ah, V&T Motorworks Chassis Y. The glory that car tasted was incredible.

On a more serious and totally unrelated note, I hope my latest RP post was well written, or at least concisely written. I started writing the post quite awake and then began falling asleep towards the end. I feel like I've just written down random words in succession. If anybody cares to tell me that they don't understand shit, please do.

I need to sleep.

As Vangaziland said technically, driver signups are open continuously, but there's only the one team spot currently open. If you want to compete for it, sign up, show that you're an active RP'er and you might get that spot (assuming the team owner decides to complete their roster). You'll be at a bit of a disadvantage though, as we're already three races into the season, so it'll be hard to catch up (unless your name is Jessica Franssen, of course).

I'm glad of it; thanks! As might be guessed, I'm currently working on updating the appearance of the UHSGV-2 prototype for the WGPC itself, for which one can expect altered bodywork (which might just push the definition of 'open wheel car' to its upper limit) and a far more detailed livery, particularly on Ryker's car. Have to celebrate that Championship win somehow, right?

I wouldn't at all mind seeing some of your renders, though; the whole thing sounds interesting.

My first major editing work on the UHSGV is complete and, though it's still a bit rough around the edges, I think that it looks pretty good - even if I do say so myself!

Well, because I (somewhat unwisely) wrote that Gertrude had come up with a system that allowed the Chase Cutter to drive in the wet as if it was dry, I'm now going to have to come up with something regarding why that system happened to fail on both cars simultaneously. Huzzah!

I really can't wait until we get to the Nimban Grand Prix - then I'll have Ryker to roleplay and can report on some immediately good things happening to Nexus Racing again. There's certainly some great character development to be had from a lack of success but it can also get a little depressing to write about it all the time.

Note to self, hire Jenna Vandersen for more motivational speeches.

I bet Nexus will have good news even before then. Also, I'm working on a render since you asked. I actually just finished some postwork on it and will do a quick write up soon. Well, let me get a simple render out here for you to check out and then the next shot will show a little more of what I can do with it. If I could freehand as well as the picture from Hodori, I'd try zbrush. People can make money building things from zbrush, something to think about..

Image

There, threw that in. It doesn't have lighting applied, so it comes off looking flat. It was just a quick render, I have something more developed. Time can add up. Even skipping time spent procrastinated/distracted.

That's actually a Ghost: Medals Edition. I know it's gaudy, it's meant to be. I want Vannish cars to be some of the loudest and brashest in NS. Just to create reactions. It's more about establishing a national car identity than trying to be the "best". The company just wants to polarize, ie make one love or hate it. At least with the Ghost, anyways.. All just for OOC fun. The Ghost comes out in Limited Editions, like the VE. This one will be limited to 3, I think. So if anybody has any crazy celebrities, we can backstory them into a purchase and I'll even make a few shots for any factbooks/articles.

And s, it's tied in to a release with the Olympiad.. Note the only bronze is on the steering wheel and calipers.

I am taken aback; that is brilliant. If that is a rushed job (lighting aside) then you, my friend, are remarkably skilled.

Thanks! I didn't freehand that though. See, I use more of an animation style software. I just enjoy the theory behind it, like thinking of what it would be like to see that car drive by. It'd probably have electric cutouts in the exhaust, since the Vannish government would just let V-10 straight pipe noise roar unbridled.

If you like the company, maybe one of your car companies can work with Vannish Motors? Maybe they can work together on a performance motor based on your technology, or whatever you wanted to license out for a profit. If not the powerplant, maybe there is some other technology or engineering you could share. Or we could hire an engineer from your nation who becomes a Vannish icon, at least in the Popular Science Vangaziland circle...

I also haven't ruled out the possibility of working with an international driver for WGPC 16. But we'll see, let me see how these numbers go.. We'll all see and it will be cool because... We can trade drivers based on the results here, if we bring them to the WGPC. It can actually function like a true scouting league. I'd say the design was successful, if that's the case.. Because the stats for these drivers are useful information...

Apologies for not scorinating last night, I simply forgot.
Also, I'm loathe to enter Estrella with that level of injury into the race, but then Iron didn't indicate whether or not Luna would miss the race, so I don't know what I should do. I think in the interests of realism this time, I'll exclude Estrella due to injury. Apologies if this ruins anyone's plans.

She's not seriously hurt. Almost knocked unconscious from whiplash yes, but not seriously hurt with an injury that would carry over to the next day. She has burns on her left foot, but that can be raced through, especially with Ironite medical tech.

Sorry, I've only just seen this. But in RL, that would still have been enough for the stewards to exclude her from the race on safety grounds. You can blame the safety-mad race stewards from EAMR for this decision.

RL recovery times are also lower because the Syndicate has always had a higher tech level, but alright...
