Vangaziland wrote:Is everybody designing their cars? Maybe Lisander can help you all, since he is talented in digital design. That template is not MS paint capable, so it won't be an easy edit. But photoshop, or other apps can work. I'm not working up any more designs, myself. I started on the red and yellow car, but yeah. Lisander can help instead. It would probably take him 5 minutes.

I spent a lot longer on a request through my paint app, but didn't like it so... I'm sure he will help.. I tried, at least.

I enjoy my design though.. But it's a one off custom to my style.

Here are some logo options. Everyone should feel free to find a cool text generator and submit your own possible designs. e-GP it is.. But we can still differentiate by not picking a reworked logo of the WGPC. Sorry, I will continue to stand up for originality in this series. Against official or unofficial ties.

V2

V3

L1 can be the reworked WGPC logo.

Answering some stuff:

1. My eGP logo is not a copy of WGPC logo. They were made from the same concept. They're equal. If you think it was a copy, you are clearly placing WGPC in a higher point (What is unbelievable, since you were acting like a spoiled brat in WGPC preseason because you didn't want to play with everyone!)

2. It takes more than a cool text generator to make a logo.

3. You can edit the SRT01 template I posted even if you don't have Photoshop. Go to https://pixlr.com/editor/ and you can work with layers. Keep sure the template layer is above all the others in the image.

Here you have an example. http://prntscr.com/f6crso

Thank you for your opinions, Lisander. I know they are on the same concept. They look like the same logos. They look related. They don't have to. That's what I mean. And this is the last statement I am sending towards you, because I'm done with the debate.

As far as you saying it takes more than a cool text generator, I disagree. I personally like V1 better than your design, but that's me. Do not try to limit others who do not have access to expensive photoshop or the know how to do so. If others want to create logos, there are ways and I support them.

Thanks for your input Lisander. Feel free to respond, but I'm done addressing you.

I'm certain he wasn't trying to limit anyone to a fancy image editor. He was just giving his own opinion on the matter like you did.

Anyways, I think I'll be dropping out of e-GP for now. The similarities between this and WGP2 (in the sense that they're both single seater racing series; since one of them is related to WGPC and acts as a feeder to it, it's more appealing to me) have me leaning away from e-GP. Maybe I'll participate someday, but for now this is it. Good luck!

(P.S. I'd definitely sign up for a RX or rallying series. It would really add much needed variety to NS Motorsport)

Contrary to what some may believe, a logo is not just text. Developing a meaningful identity is a process that takes some time, thinking and research. The first option presented by Vangaziland, with that graffiti style letters, would work best for a "Ghetto style street racing league" but maybe not for an electric formula since the usual message we get from graffiti is related to ghetto culture.

I've never said my expensive software is enough to make me a better creative. There are lots of tools for free around the web. I don't want to be the douchebag who have the better software and uses it to lower the ones who can't afford or use it. BUT, I'm a designer, I attended a College to work with this, I do this to pay the bills in the end of the month, and I have this impulse to do my best. I want to see everyone saying: "What a nice look this competition have". Should I open a text generator and call this a logo, when all of my education was exactly DENYING THIS LOGIC?

Considering this point, I decided to establish another new identity, now exclusive for the eGP. And for this time, I'm explaining the reasons why I made this, SINCE SOME PEOPLE IN THIS RACING SERIES KEEP ACTING LIKE SPOILED BRATS.

So yeah, hopefully this league will start up. I look forward to seeing this come into play. In some ways, its best to not worry so much about voting and have the creator just create. People can accept and deal with the creator's ideas, or make their own league. Whenever a new event comes up, old time NSers show up and preach their status quo. It's good advice, but really these are often people just trying to dig their claws into something.

So we have enough votes, we have enough ideas, maybe we should open signups and get started before people get bored.

By the way, what's up with that huge blank post above this one? I don't see it at least. Happy racing everyone!

Good night, little spoiled brat. Can't wait to see you and your ugly car in the tarmac this season.

So, let's go with the signups, Megellan? BTW, How do you think about the new logo?

*** Warned for flamebaiting *** - and apparently successful flamebaiting at that, given the above; not that the level of success would have influenced this decision.

Thanks Arch.

Lisander: I don't know if you read the WGPC discussion thread post or not, but Vangaziland and I have had a very productive conversation and have been working hard on patching up our differences. I would be very grateful if you didn't antagonize either of us at this delicate time. It's time to forgive and forget.

Also, you are incredibly talented. That logo is a work of art. Well done.

Vangaziland: If someone insults you, or flames anyone, then they're going to get hit hard with a modhammer. Standing up for yourself and giving as good as you get works just fine IRL, but will only result in getting equal punishment on the forums.

We're all on the same team, here. Let's not snipe at one another.

Well I'm glad that worked out. Now I look forward to the series and seeing how things work out with the race. Nice idea Megelan and I look forward to seeing how your creation manifests itself!

Thanks, Audio. I'll drop you a PM sooner or later about some stuff related to NS Racing and mod duties.

I would recommend no prominent Real Life Driver or Team Names.

IE: No Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, MIchael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Jenson Button, Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault, Ford, Chevy, Hendrick Motorsports, Benetton etc....

Or you could just post the template without sponsor decals and shading layer as an outline only then people could have both options :) Working with Layers and browser based stuff may not be possible for all. Personally I'm not sure why you chose to display your transparency with checkers behind it - it would seem the only thing gained by this is making it hard for others to use without layers. Usually when you save a transparency you just let it be... transparent... in the flattened png

I don't have the original file. I have not made this template. The only version I have is that one, and I don't know how to clean it. The best I can do myself is paint the background white and cover the logos with some sort of edit. I can't take off the shadows and lights.

BTW, this transparency is really transparent. The checkered is from the software background. Just place a white square in a layer behind the transparency and it should turn white.

A note on driver stats... Note how there are three segments, acceleration/cornering/reliability? Each one of those has a function in the scorinator and should have independent values that equal to the number 1. An easy way is to pick two .3s and a .4. Or you can fraction it off farther, like I did with the Sven with a .325. Or you could maximize one value as one nation did, building around a .55.

Random choices like ".69 total" won't work for the system. Just a heads up.

Also, one person went with the Ferrari name. Remember all cars are the same and built by the host's nation. Maybe the Ferrari listed is just the translated word in Italian or some independent tuner brand that coincidently has the same name. Or maybe they just wanted to sponsor a foreign car, for some reason. But yeah, there is only one manufacturer. A reminder, because it came up early in the thread and may have been missed.

If one does want to enter a Ferrari or a Dodge, check the WGP2 or the Hodori Series, both of which are currently incoming. Technically, RL companies are frowned upon.. But if you must, try there.

Hello, fellow racers! I'm thinking of being different and submitting an oval track, thoughts?

Oval circuits and xkoranate do not work very well, as fair as I know, because of lap time and the number of laps. BTW, I personally think Oval is boring, when comparing with street tracks. All the time running in one direction, its a lot more repetitive when compared to a multi-turn circuit.

I don't think it's boring. I like NASCAR, but unfortunately our NS equivalent is inactive.

NASCAR is not boring, but different. There are also street courses in NASCAR. I would like to see more of those. Also, Indy Cars run on oval tracks. We once said all the courses would or might be street courses here though. I'm not sure which tracks people submitted though.

And they might not work as well for the scorinator... But with the right record time, they might work. I wouldn't be against an oval track if non-street tracks have been submitted.

And yes, there is plenty to RP on an oval track. Like I said in a TG, my gripe with NASCAR is that they help take the focus away from handling, which is why my old Dodge handled like crap compared to my new import. But that's just my opinion and shouldn't stop an oval track.

The only issue is if all tracks are street tracks.

Awesome paint schemes by the way... Same with VM Sonti. It's going to be a bright colorful field! That's fun.

Questions:

I believe we're now just waiting for the teams with open slots, more tracks, and if we'll allow an oval? There are ten teams now.

How many races are there in the season?

In racing, it's hard to RP with just your two guys. Will we be allowed to mention the other racers, for example if our racers pass them or crash with them, if we RP first? Are there RP permissions like in the other sports?

Actually, another question while I'm at it. Heck, I think it's more of a point to be brought up…

Under xkoranate, when using the Acc/Cor/Rel option, one can also set how much the track is dependent on cornering and acceleration as well. Like tight and twisty circuits could have a high cornering value but low acceleration and vice versa for full on AVUS. Why isn't there an option for such when submitting a track?

And also, a real question, what does 'Variance' do under track submission?
