I might be getting specific here, but could I possibly submit either a team or a track without having a driver in the series? Currently out of good names for a racing driver.

Jacobio von Speedipants. You're welcome.

WGPC rules say that anyone can submit a track for the championships regardless of how much or little they're going to participate. I'd assume it'd be the same for WGP2.

At this pace WGP2 is going to be a 4 team, 8 driver series with 36 events on the schedule :)

I believe it's time for host voting to start, since I talked to Anthor on discord and he said that he wouldn't be bidding because of time restraints. I'll leave the timing and the counting of the votes up to Audio, since he's a trustworthy third party that already volunteered.

You're perfectly free to put forward your own bid or suggestions if you have an idea on how it should be run.

EDIT: And for clarification, my WC retirement won't affect racing. I'm still going to be active in WGPC and other racing competitions and I'm still bidding for this.

I would like to agree, and also put my vote towards the bid of The Iron Syndicate.

Assuming I'm not too late to join in, I'd be interested in being part of this.

It's perfectly fine. We've not even started, and are currently preparing to vote on who will be the host. Within a few days' time signups will be open.

I'll be interested in a team. And I'll submit an extra driver. I'll plan on RPing every race and would look for that in a teammate on my team and the one I sign for. Let's make a run, or two runs.

How about I start the voting period after I scorinate the WGPC's Friday Practice?

I'll post under the WGPC nation here to officially open the voting.

Anyone who, by Friday evening, has posted in either this thread or one of the official WGPC15 threads may have a vote.

One vote per user.

Votes received before voting officially opens will not be counted.

The deadline will be Monday evening, after which the winner can start the signup thread at their leisure.

Any detractors?

Just thought I'd throw out a finalized livery for the WGP2 team I'll be running- Obey Sport GP.

Akus and Ravelli, eh? Those were on my Dragon Team Racing China car until I bankrupted it. Oops.

Still looking for an image software tutorial so that I can create my livery (again, any advice on that would be helpful) but once that's done I'll gladly vote for proceedings to begin.

So far I've spent five seasons in the ERS with Octane Racing and still haven't been promoted. Could win it this year though, I am leading by a fairly large margin after 5 rounds out of 11.

Also, Dragon Race Team China.

Personally, I use GIMP for all my image editing needs, and while I'm fairly good at it, I'm unsure how really to tutorialize you on it. But overall it's a solid program. Painting with all sorts of brushes, overlaying images and text boxes on each other, it gets more technical the more you need to use it. I'm a bit of an amateur in graphic design, so you could probably pull off something really nice in the end.

Whoopsie.

I bailed on my second season with them. It was an awful case of expanding too rapidly: I'd invested so much in getting the best drivers and engineers I could find that I ran out of money to improve both reliability and performance of my car, a hugely unfortunate McHonda story.

Also, word of advice: hire Santa Ana. I should have when I had the chance (plus, she's Argentine too :D)

Well Santa Ana spent three seasons at Predator and the last two at ZRT- not a good use of talent.

But when she has three stars and you have two four star drivers [Edda Jonsottdir and Enriqua Lara (requires level 1 scouting facility)] that are the best ranked on the grid (shame driver aids are currently allowed, but they'll be banned next season) then there's really no reason to. Plus who doesn't want an Icelandic and a Sri Lankan on their team?

Also, I've done a second career with a custom team that uses a bit of a cheaty mod but not completely- free/instant HQ buildings and increased income from the buildings that make money and free/instant part development. It's a bit cheaty but the AI have access to it too, I've gone from the ERS to the WMC by the fifth season :)

*Cough* I think we're going off-topic here, guys.

Back on topic with WGP2, I may actually submit a modified track or two instead of leaving any of my circuits up for use at the hosts' whim.

Ladies! Gentlemen! People in between! Welcome to the first WGP2 hosting vote. We will be voting on the host of the forthcoming WGP2 Championships

There are three bids. They are, in chronological order of when their bid was posted:

The Iron Syndicate
Eastfield Lodge

You may also vote to
Re-open bids or to
Abstain

Please vote for your preferred host listing your preferences in order, as we will be using the run-off vote format. IE put a '1' next to your most preferred option. You may put a '2' next to your second preferred option and a '3' next to your third-preferred option, but this isn't necessary.

If there is a tie for first place, then the bid with least votes will be removed and their second preference votes will be redistributed to the other bids.

'Abstain' is not an option that can be given a number. Either you officially abstain, or you vote for one of the other options.

Eligible Voters
You are eligible to vote if, before the time of this announcement, you have posted in one of the following threads:
WGP2: Interest and planning thread
WGPC15: RP Thread
WGPC15: OOC / Signup Thread

We operate a policy of ONE VOTE PER USER, so puppets cannot vote.

All votes should be sent via telegram to Audioslavia by 23:00 UTC on Monday the 15th of May. Any votes sent to a different nation will not be counted. Any votes sent to Audioslavia via discord, irc.esper.net #nssport, carrier pigeon or on this forum will not be counted. Any votes sent after the deadline will not be counted.

CHEEKY MODEDIT: Esmerel has opted to withdraw their bid, so the options are The Iron Syndicate, Eastfield Lodge, Re-open Bids and Abstain

Not at all, Audio. My fault for not sending you the original file. BTW, some preferred format?

I'm fine with PNG files. I use Paint.NET, generally, so anything more complicated than that will confuse me :)
