I've looked around and realized: there is no kind of Sailing thread within NS Sports at all! The only event I could find that even mentions sailing was the Olympics. Since this has never been done before, I thought: hey, why don't I give it a shot!

Something like the Americas Cup would be awesome (with qualifying races and then a final), but we could throw in a few other events at the same time to suit other boats.

It would be Olympic-style dinghy racing, since that's what I'm most familiar with.

IC Information

The cities: Hood River, Oregon will host the ISCC. Hood River is considered by many to be one of the top 5 places in the world for wind sports. Wind conditions are perfect there, and it is home to one of the largest high school regattas on the planet.

OOC Information

Experience: I have no experience with hosting, however, I do have a decent amount of experience sailing. I've been sailing for the past 4 years, and have been on my school's sailing team for two.

Scorinator: I would be using xkorenate's sailing event option to tabulate scores. I have fiddled around with it a lot and understand how to use it.

Bonuses: I'll allow a RP bonus.

Format: I'll run races in both fleet racing and match racing configurations. We would have 5 mass fleet races (if enough people sign up, we'll do an A fleet and a B fleet). The top half will advance to elimination fleet racing, where the last-place finisher in each race will be eliminated. The final two boats (top of A and top of B) would face each other in match format for 5 races.

Each team would be allowed a total of 4 sailors to enter (2 skippers, 2 crews). One boat would be entered in A fleet, and one in B fleet.
