It's (one of) the (four-ish) most wonderful time(s) of the year! It's time for the thirty-second edition of NationStates' premier international gridiron football competition!
In any case, as per usual, this thread will serve two purposes. You can sign-up for the World Bowl here, and you can also submit host bids! I am tentatively setting the cut-off for hosting bids at 11:59 PM U.S. Eastern Time, May 5th, 2017.
Now, onto the business:
1) Sign-Ups
To sign-up for World Bowl XXXII, simply leave a post in this thread stating your intentions to compete. Nations that have Ceased-To-Exist prior to the start of competition will be removed from sign-ups, and will have to sign back up if they wish to compete.
1b) Puppet Policy
You may sign-up a second nation, or puppet. To sign up a puppet nation, simply post with that nation, indicating that it is a puppet, and then post a confirmation with your main nation. Please note that, in the event of main nations wishing to sign-up after cutoff numbers are reached, puppets are the first nations to be removed from the sign-up list (after CTE'd nations) to make room for main/master nations.
2) Hosting Bids
As with other NS Sport events, the World Bowl requires a host. The host is selected from among the interested nations submitting host bids (that is, an application to be the host). You can see last cycle's winning host bid here, and the one from World Bowl XXX here.
A good host bid should contain information on how the would-be host intends to scorinate the competition, how they intend to format the competition (both group stage and knock-out rounds), and relevant experience or other qualifications to be host.
Host bids can be written either from in-character (IC) or out-of-character (OOC) perspectives. Feel free to include IC information regarding your nation, and potential venues.
