Aw, nuts. And here I was just about to post my team. Oh well, here's my track.

TRACKS
Track 1: Carson Park GP circuit
Circuit distance: 4.799 miles, 7.723 km
Fastest lap: 1:46.973 (Richard Emberton, 2008)
Track map: Image
(The actual track is in black, white is the club track)
First constructed in 1977, the Carson Park track quickly became known as one of the most exciting, fearsome, and challenging tracks in Jeffgordonville. The track has seen some great action over the years. The biggest change to the track came in 1990, when the track underwent a major overhaul. The national track gained its fantastic opening section from Oakes to Feldspar to counter the stunning final section of Clarkson through to Tucker. Another, smaller revamp occurred 4 years later after a nasty crash in a JOWS race at Robotnik corner, which resulted in the Caboose Chicane. Further attempts to butcher corners like Tucker, Kubica, and Broom were thwarted thanks to petitions by Jeffgordonvillian race fans. The track itself has some staggering elevation changes. Church Straight is the highest point on the track, and is approximately 80 meters above the start/finish straight, due to the rather hilly local geography. It certainly makes for some great racing.

In the off-chance that you might want to look at my signup, I've spoilered it just below.

Team: Jeffgordonville International Motorsports (6-7-8)
Team manager/principal: Bill "Buster" Rogers (55 years old)
Perhaps the most unlucky driver ever to have lived, Buster Rogers certainly has had more luck in his 12 years of fielding a top-tier JOWS team than he did in his 17 years prior as a driver in the same series. Making a total of 325 race starts, Buster's best finish was 2nd, an incredible 46 times. However once he took to the team owner's game, it was there that Buster's talent was. After a shaky first few years, Bill Rogers Racing's fortunes took a turn for the better when Buster made a deal to be part of the growing JIM driver development program. The benefits were felt immediately as budget problems became a thing of the past, and the team received a very talented driver by the name of Manfred Geinhart Jr., who gave the team its first taste of true success, delivering wins and points on a regular basis. Geinhart propelled the team towards the front, taking 4 drivers and 6 team championships along the way. It is Geinhart who is also credited with the mentoring of Lee Rogers, who turned his constant crashes into a thing of the past. As the seasons went by, Buster Rogers was very pleased with his team's success, when he was informed that he would be managing the organisations NSWGPC effort. Though his success may be somewhat because of JIM's intervention, it is largely accepted that they would not have even considered supporting Buster's team had he not the capability to run a front-running world-class team.
Driver 1: Lee Rogers (Bonus: A (7-7-8), 26 years old)
Driver 1 description: As Calvin Emberton has dominated JSCC racing over the past few seasons, more and more attention is being given to the JOWS, Jeffgordonville's premier grand prix championship. And as this attention has grown, so too has the performance of one Lee Archibald Rogers. Son of Bill "Buster" Rogers, widely regarded as one of the unluckiest drivers ever to have lived, Lee's transformation from backmarker to champion has been nothing short of sensational. Coming into the series, and into a drive at his father's team, at the age of just 19, Rogers' first two seasons were characterised by crashes and below-par results, strung together by some very random flashes of brilliance, For example, in his first race, despite coming home in 18th, 2 laps down, Lee set the race's fastest lap. He would do this a total of 64 times in his 185 race career, a testament to his innate speed. Despite this obvious speed, as he entered his third season, Lee had but 4 points, and 7 fastest laps. Some said he was as unlucky as his father, while others put it down to inconsistency. Regardless, despite being in a team run by his father, Lee Rogers' future was in doubt. But then, something changed. As Calvin Emberton romped home in a season that saw him and Kyle Onasi claim 21 out of a possible 30 wins, Lee began to do better. Suddenly, he was not just getting fastest laps, but also regular points, poles, even a race win. As more and more people tuned in to watch the JOWS racing, Lee Rogers became a force to be reckoned with. It seems as though he thrived in a high pressure, high octane environment, and it showed in his overall results: 25th in his first year, then 28th, 10th, 6th, 3rd, 1st, 1st. As JIM began arranging their team for a possible entry into the NS WGPC, Lee Rogers was their first candidate for a drive. Not only would his talent be a good boost for the team, but his ability to thrive in high pressure situations would make the 26 year-old champ an asset.
Driver 2: Richard "Ricky" Emberton (Bonus: R (6-7-9), 19 years old)
Driver 2 description: Brother to the famed Calvin Emberton, Ricky Emberton has long lived in his older brother's shadow. Unable to best Cal when it came to stock cars, Ricky soon learned that he was an ace with open wheel cars, regularly beating drivers even twice his size. His willingness to not be left in the dust is plain to see, as he was never very far behind Calvin as the two progressed through the feeder series into the national racing proper, once the 8 year age gap was factored in. Unfortunately for Ricky, his youth would count against him, as the minimum age for a Jeffgordonvillian National 'A' license was 17, and as Ricky looked to progress to the JOWS championship, he was only 14. Still an impressive accomplishment by any means, Ricky was force to mill about in the junior categories for three seasons until he was finally granted the National 'A' license. In his first season at Bill Rogers Racing, Ricky failed to disappoint, showing he was as hungry as ever, coming in at a very respectable 4th overall in the final standings. He would do one better the next season, and missed out on the championship in only his third year by a mere 2 points. Many believe that there is still much more potential in the young Ricky Emberton, and this made him another obvious choice for JIM's NSWGPC effort.
Test/reserve driver (optional): William Aston

That's fine, I'll add you to my list of potential entrants. Just means I have to choose 15 from 21 rather than from 20.

The Ministry for Sport would like to offer the Azure Harbour Circuit of Stablaydia's captial city, Jhanna, for inclusion in the WGPC8.

Image

Enrique Espinosa wrote:Track description and walk-through by Enrique Espinosa, former F1 driver for TSR (Team Starblaydia Racing):
"Comprising a clockwise street circuit of 15 corners, with turns five through thirteen offering excellent views of the pure green-blue waters of the recreational lake within Jhanna itself, it is a circuit primarily built for speed and noise.

'Turn One starts off nice and wide, like the long pit straight itself, but soon narrows meaning that quick decisions will have to be made from the start as Turn Two could well see some near misses and collision action.

"Down the hill to Turn Three provides a long G-pull as the sweeping hairpin levels out before dropping down sharply at the end of the first sector and Turn Five, which provides the best on-board shots for the TV audience as the incredible Azure Harbour comes into view. A nice and simple Turn Six sets up the chicane of Turns Seven, Eight and Nine before a long, long race along the harbour's edge, into the third sector, before throwing the car up the incline and to the right through Turn Eleven and then slamming on the anchors for Turn Twelve.

"The exit of Turn Thirteen is all-important as the short sprint to the two tightest corners, Fourteen and particularly Fifteen, can make-or-break a driver's lap times heading back into the pit straight, where top speed can easily be reached."

Submitting only a track for this, the eighth installment of the World Grand Prix Championship.

AutoRingPacitalia
San Marcopoli degli Amarchi, Capitale, Pacitalia

Image

Length: 6.724km (6,724m / 4.178 miles)

Laps: 46 (309.3 / 305km)
Turns: 20
Hairpins: 2
Chicanes: 2
Pit lane speed limit: 110 km/h

Completed in 1983, the track was part of an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to lure a top-flight Formula 1 / Grand Prix race back to Pacitalia after the original Pacitalian Grand Prix event folded in 1981. Pacitalia and Pacitalians would be privileged and honoured to host the world's best Formula 1 drivers after the Pacitalian Grand Prix's 28 year absence. Hosting this event would greatly help in laying the foundation for the growth of premier motorsport in the Republic.

AutoRingPacitalia is located 30km (25 minutes drive) northeast of Timiocato in the municipality of San Marcopoli degli Amarchi. It is an hour from Timiocato Memoriale di Veterani International Airport and 90 minutes from Timiocato Santo Ragazzo International Airport. ARP is the largest and longest Grand Prix-calibre track facility in Pacitalia. It was completely refurbished two years ago, including full resurfacing, reconstruction of all three bridges in the circuit, and shoring up of the steep incline after turn 11. A new stand was added, boosting the spectator capacity from its original 21,764 to a new total of 31,884.

AutoRingPacitalia is a highly technical and demanding track that will strongly challenge even the best driver. To be successful on this track a driver and his team must be well-rounded, excellent in both driving skill and technical knowledge. Much of the track may appear easy to conquer but the opposite is in fact true. The geography of the track is highly taxing to both car and driver. The 6.724-km long track takes full advantage of the natural hilly topography of the Amarchi foothills northeast of Timiocato, boasting 14 inclines and declines throughout. The track's signature feature is its intimidating figure-eight between turns 5 and 9, as the double bridges employ low clearance and virtually no visual obstructions that would normally block out the progress or location of other drivers.

The track's two hairpin turns are consecutively positioned mid-course, followed by the sharpest incline of the track, with an 8% grade over 350 metres of tarmac. Chicanes are positioned at the beginning and towards the end of the course, with a shorter switchback-type chicane between turns 1 and 4 and then a longer, more rounded one between turns 17 and 19 that has a history of lulling the driver into a false sense of security ahead of the always fateful final turn. Races and even careers have been torched at the brutal hands of AutoRingPacitalia's 20th turn.

And if the track itself is not difficult enough to navigate, AutoRingPacitalia is located in a region of the country well known for its warm, blustery and sometimes gale-force winds. In this precision sport, even a bit of a gust can profoundly affect a driver's performance on race day.

The lap — and after 46 revolutions, the race — ends with a spectacular arcing curve that keeps the start/finish checkpoint out of sight until nearly the last few seconds. The unconventional and sometimes controversial feature, rather than employing a straightaway, arguably builds on the excitement and anticipation of watching the WGPC's best in a world-class racing facility.
