So far, only they and the Méaghola Lady Storm of Corcra and Tir Trodaithe have previously claimed the title. Additionally, Pusan win their third title, also against the same opponent (i.e., Pusan beat Sasil City in all of their final appearances).

The 8th Golden Shield of Football final will be held at Stade des Vagabonds, Courtenay, Fleuronordicia.

DEPARTURE OF TEAMS FROM THE UNITED HANGUG REPUBLIC
For seven Golden Shield cycles, teams from the United Hangug Republic, including Sasil Hangug, Widaehan-Geojis-Hangug, and the entity of United Hangug (which lent its name to the current unification of Hangug Island), have forever etched their name into tournament history. In the men's event, the Pusan Panthers have wowed crowds with four titles, and the Sasil City Hammerheads won the premier tournament in the men's event and have made several playoff appearances; the recently-tendered Cato City Patriots made the final in the seventh running. Additionally, every Women's Golden Shield final has featured at least one United Hangug Republic team, with Grand City Sharks winning the fifth running of the tournament. Along with the victorious appearance, Grand City Sharks made the first edition final, and Sasil City Bombers and Pusan Lady Panthers have each made two appearances.

In light of this, the United Hangug Republic Football Board have indicated their withdrawal from the Golden Shield Committee, effective immediately. We wish our Hangug teams the best as they form the cornerstone for the next generation of football in their nation through the advent of the Hangug Football League.

Broadcast rights for both the Golden Shield of Football and the Hangug Football League will be determined at a later date.

Golden Shield revival

The United Hangug Republic has allowed me to revive and renew the Golden Shield. New nations and new teams will be announced in the upcoming days.
