After Schottia's qualification campaign imploded at the halfway stage of World Cup 75, there was really no other option for Jane Gullie than to stand down. Following a lengthy period of deliberation the SFA finally put in place the team that they believe will give them a chance of returning to the world stage. Quebecois manager Lionel Mah is one of his nation's most promising coaching prospects, and received critical acclaim for the way he transformed the fortunes of CSKA Quebec, as well as his tactical knowledge. With John Murray leaving alongside Gullie, former Schottia skipper Colin Donaldson comes in as assistant, the 39-year-old's only coaching experience being a brief stint at interim manager at Handon United. Donaldson brings with him a good awareness of the Schottic game, and has been an excellent foil for Lionel Mah. Veteran coach David Chettwell has been with the Schottia team for the best part of ten years, and is well known to the current crop of players - he was one of the few coaches to keep his place after the post WC75 purge. Joining him for the first time are coaches Judy Scott and Conner Watts. Scott, currently at New Island, as previously been a manager at U15 and has already worked with many of the current squad. Watts, who recently took over at Hillstreet, also brings a lot of managerial experience to the set-up. Goal keeping coach Peter Acheson remains in place, and Physio Claire Hanson his brought back in after previously being realised by Barry Gorman ten years ago.

Team history
Barry Gorman era
Not so much a tale of ups and downs, Schottia's history in the World Cup competitions has been one of very slow progress. Since Barry Gorman took over a side ranked outside the world's top 300, which had just finished WC68 with a grand total of 0-points, the Auks have seen their fortunes steadily improve. The small nation of six-and-a-half-million gave a very good account of themselves under his stewardship and it was in this era that we saw them first adopt their now familiar 4-2-3-1 formation. Schottia finished sixth of eight in their group as they tried to reach the finals of WC69 in his first year in charge, qualifying for the Cup of Harmony, where they recorded a surprise win over Mizuyuki. The subsequent rise up the world rankings saw them finish third, fourth, third in WC70, 71, and 72 respectively, as they established themselves as one of the world's mid-ranked sides. Schottia put in some plucky performance over the years, and there was little doubt that it was Gorman who had made the difference, seemingly able to dig deep and get something extra out of the country's small pool of players. It was also during this period (immediately prior to WC70) that Schottia won the Di Bradini Cup, and that golden generation of youngsters has slowly began to make their mark on the senior squad.

Despite being the one to galvanise the team, Barry Gorman's position as manager became more and more difficult. After a series of wild promises and statements of overconfidence, he constantly succeeded in building up the fans' expectations, and creating a rod for his own back. In the end it was no doubt this bravado, coupled with a lacklustre qualification campaign in WC72, which saw the SFA decline to offer him a new contract. He did go on to lead the side to the knockout stages of the Cup of Harmony for the first time, however it wasn't enough, and as the side limped out after a heavy defeat to Nova Anglicana, it was to be the 47-year-old's last act in charge.

Jane Gullie era
After their Cup of Harmony exit, Schottia was standing at a bit of a crossroads. Managerless, and despite reaching the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time, it was abundantly clear that they were a million miles off the pace. From a shortlist of five candidates, Jane Gullie emerged as the most suitable option, and was handed the job over the likes of caretaker Grant Nean, and Schottic DBC hero Jock Sonny. Gullie had made a name for herself after lifting the SPL title with New Belfast Warriors, and was commended for her style of man-management and balanced tactics, which the board thought conducive to the Schottic style of play. It is easy to forget when looking back with rosé tinted glasses, but Gullie's reign was not an overnight success and indeed, she came very close to being sacked only five matches into the World Cup 73 Qualifiers. Results picked up however, the turning point being a win at home to Krytenia - a massive achievement for a nation who traditionally struggle against the top sides. The result seemed to give Schottia a new found confidence, and with the cracks glossed over with a little self belief, they eventually went on to top their group. Further wins over Mertagne, and the completion of the double over Krytenia in the final group game meant that Schottia were able to avoid the play-off lottery and move straight into the World Cup final draw.

In spite of all the excitement surrounding the nation's qualification, there was no hiding the enormity of the task they faced. Drawn in a difficult group consisting of San Jose San Jose Guayabal, Farfadillis, and the Polar Islandstates, Schottia finished in fourth place picking up a single point against Farfadillis.

Schottia then entered the World Cup 74 qualification as second seeds in their group, and while this made for a potentially easier draw - being placed alongside The Holy Empire, Bears Armed, and New Gelderland saw pay to that. After a huge struggle, Schottia eventually came out on top for a second cycle running. In reflection the home and away wins over New Gelderland, were probably pivotal in a group where all the sides dropped points. By this point Gullie was starting to get the players she wanted around her, and this was marked by the emergence of individuals such as Johannas Ünterhausen, Bella Thompson, and Herron Crew, who all made valuable contributions.

The finals themselves were once again a bridge too far for Schottia, and where they seem to have gotten qualification down to a T, the finals are another story all together. This time Schottia were draw alongside Nova Anglicana, Vilita, and the familiar faces of Farfadillis. It was to be the same story as last time however, and with zero wins, Schottia limped out once again at the group stage.

After topping their qualification group the two previous campaigns there was a lot of pressure on Jane Gullie to do the same going into WC75. However, despite a strong start, the Schottians fell by the wayside, with a seemingly inconceivable collapse at the halfway stage, finishing third behind Devonta and Eura.

Lionel Mah Era
Schottia's first World Cup qualifying campaign under the very highly rated Quebecois Lionel Mah can simply be summed up by the word - frustration. In many ways, they did so much right, but during the critical games against Eshan and Turori, they couldn't come up with the goods. The Schottic support seemed to be divided right down the middle, as to whether or not the manager should be given a second chance. However, and perhaps most crucially, the players had been generally in favour of the then 50-year-old. In the end, the Schottic FA decided not to make a final decision on Mah's fate until after the Cup of Harmony, which would prove to be astute move.

Optimism was desperately low as Schottia headed into their first ever Cup of Harmony on home soil, with overseas territory Port Christopher qualifying for the World Cup making it all the more painful. However, Schottia managed to dig deep, and pull out the results they needed, as they made their way to the final. They suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final, losing in the dying minutes to a very impressive Bonesea side. Despite the obvious disappointment, there were several positives to take away. The run to the final, which included a 4-0 win over the higher ranked Super-Llamaland, undoubtedly meant that Schottia went into the Independents Cup the following year full of confidence.

Schottia marched to a somewhat surprise victory at the inaugural tournament, which pitted associations playing out with the Mulitiverse's three main sporting regions against one another. Defeating Veldgouwen in the final, Lionel Mah's side were able to atone for letting the Cup of Harmony slip through their fingers on home solid, and add a first senior trophy to the Harbour Hill cabinet.

Squad information
The biggest challenge facing any Schottia manager is the relatively small pool of players they have to draw upon. There is no doubt that a 100-percent fit side can hold their own, but as we have seen over the last four years, consistency during the longer campaigns has been a big issue. There is no denying the fact the Lionel Mah got off to a bumpy start as manager. The 52-year-old Quebecois was set the target of reaching the play-offs - reasonable you might say for a team seeded second - but a handful of erratic results saw them finish third behind Eshan. It was probably down to the fact that the SFA didn't panic, and stuck with their man, that they were able to string together some good results in the Cup of Harmony and Independents Cup. In turn, Mah has tuck with the players, and as a result it's more or less the same personnel that brought the (non)Regionals back to Tyran.

Notable absentees in the this squad include: Handon United captain Alfred Seggerson, who at thirty-three has retired from international football - it is a similar story with Port Sebastian's Chris Gonzaö, who hangs up his gloves after ten years of keeping the bench warm. The New Belfast Warriors duo of Holly Addison and Craig O'Maramy also miss out on a place in the squad, perhaps a symptom their club missing out on the Globe Cup spots. As far as new recruits go, both Evelyn Conjure and Mark Ünterhausen remain in the team after impressing in the Boreal Isles, while Dundee's Jim Gerrish, and Athletic's Elspeth Glendening will be hoping to win their first caps at some point during the campaign. Marine Coast United's Camile Soria Luna is probably the most interesting inclusion, and at eighteen, would be one of the youngest ever to represent Schottia.

At the back, Schottia have finally managed to put together settled side, after years off chopping and changing under successive managers. Larry Watt and Paul Doig are both solid at right and left back respectively - fast, and with an emphasis on defensive duties. Doig's long throws have also been a big feature this side under Lionel Mah, providing another avenue of attack. In the central area, Stephen Paul and Gareth Souter seem to have struck up a good understanding over the last two years, and it's going to be hard to see that partnership being broken up any time soon. Waiting in the wings: Harlighten girls Bella Thompson, and Molly Killanen will be hoping to get their chance at some point; while Mark Ünterhasen will be keen to advance his own international career if there are injuries at centre-back. The last line of defence between the sticks, is most likely going to be Jeremy McNott, but the Cornellians keeper might need to keep an eye over each shoulder, as both back-ups are more than capable. There will already be several voices shouting for either Gould or Kurovski to be chucked in from the start, but McNott will at least be given the chance to make a mistake before he is pushed.

In the central midfield area there are options, in terms of who starts alongside team captain Jenny McDonald. While Blue Coast youngster, Evelyn Conjure, was the one who got the nod in the Boreal Islands, there are some who feel that she might not be the best foil for the Coret Hawks player. Johannas Ünterhausen would of course be a more technically minded inclusion, at the same time adding a bit of height to the starting line up. However, there are also Port Sebastian's Vera Cummings, Olympic Nassau Bay veteran Thio Crillin, and wildcards such as Corsie or Gerrish. Whoever Mah and his team go with, they will need to do a lot of running. Due to the fact that Schottia play with three in the attacking midfield, the central-two often need to cover a lot of ground. For that reason you would hedge your bets on McDonald and Conjure: Both have big match experience, playing in the Nepharim Premiership and Champions' Cup respectively, and they showed good chemistry when thrown in together in the Independents Cup.

In the attacking midfield is where Schottia have historically done the most damage. That starting three of Killanen, Coultan, and Rudden has been almost unchanged for eight years now, and they operate as a well-oiled machine. One of the minor tweaks Lionel Mah has made since taking over is moving Coultan to the central position, and Killanen to the right. This seemed to have made a difference during the Cup of Harmony, with the Crawford City star far more comfortable playing just off the striker. Coultan's job is to link the midfield and attack, something she does very well, with her pinpoint passing and forward-mindedness. Mâ Âlâmëómë man, Killanen, now occupies the wide right position, but he has a tendency to come in and have a crack at goal himself. He is probably not a natural wing-forward, but Killanen is usually at his best when given something of a free licence. Rudden on the left, by contrast, is a round peg in a round hole. A lighting-quick left winger, who is always looking to get forward, either to deliver the killer ball, or see if she can find the target. On the bench, Kennicot, Bia, and Rexmont can all play in the wide positions, with 18-year-old Luna an option in the second-striker role.

Up front Schottia traditionally go with one striker (although it could perhaps he argued that Coultan is the second). At the moment it seems like St Johns Arsenal Wunderkind Corinne Martel-Burns holds that honour, however there are question marks hanging over the head of the 20-year-old livewire. Lionel Mah undoubtedly takes a massive gamble every time the youngster sets foot on the pitch, with her tendency to pick up cards for reckless fouls, and needless shenanigans. However, there is no way to get around the fact that in terms of raw talent, she is the best Schottia have. Centralis Heart's McCormack is a strong option coming of the bench, and may even start some matches with his powerful running, and far more disciplined attitude. Mah has named six strikers in this squad, one more than last cycle, which shows he is perhaps worried about suspensions. Out of the remaining four, expect to see Heron Crew feature a fair bit, when they need someone to mix it up in the attack. Brankovič, Gelndening, and Curren will certainly feature less, but over a long campaign anything can happen.

Full Qualifying Squad
The players named here are those who will feature in the qualification campaign. Listed first are the most likely starting eleven, so if in doubt assume those players will be starting. However, if you are RPing, please feel free to read through the other players' descriptions and make a few inclusions. - All information accurate to the start of qualifying.

1. GK Jeremy McNott, 30 | Image Cornellians | Height:191cm Weight:79kg
While he does have his detractors, McNott held the number one jersey throughout the last cycle, and popular opinion is that he did okay. Despite calls for him to be dropped during the last set of WCQs, the Cornellians keeper turned it around during the Cup of Harmony, and the Independents Cup. The former DBC winner has been with Cornellians his entire senior career, having first featured as a teenager in their MPL days. With five SPL titles to his name, he is Schottia's most decorated keeper if not their best, and Mah will no doubt be looking to his experience. McNott is a good shot stopper, who spreads himself well, and is good in one-on-one situations.

2. RB Larry Watt, 30 | Image 1860 Azoth, | Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg
Vice-captain, and one of the most dependable players in the team. Like many in the current squad, he has a DBC winners medal, earned when he was a youngster at Marionville. Watt subsequently signed for Blau-Weiss Pallstadt in the last days of the Buyanese Top-League, before jumping ship at the right time, in a $9 million move to Cenian side 1860 Azoth. Schottia's most expensive defender has grown with the league, and is now regarded a key player in the squad. Fast, strong, and very defensively minded: There is very little getting past the 30-year-old.

3. LB Paul Doig, 28 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:180cm Weight:71kg
It has been widely accepted that Paul Doig had a good campaign, both during the last WC-cycle, and the Independents Cup. While Schottia's performances at the World Cup were far from perfect, the Port Sebastian left-back looked calm and collected at the back. He then took this form with him into the Cup of Harmony, where he was a big player for Schottia en route to the final. Doig is a former Di Bradini Cup winner, and has won two SPL titles with Port Sebastian. For years Schottia have struggled to fill the left back role, with some interesting inclusions finding themselves stuck in there. With his pace, composure, and the bonus of his long throw-ins, the idea of playing Doig might well turn out to be one of Lionel Mah's better moves.

4. CB Stephen Paul, 26 | Image Falourr | Height:182cm Weight:81kg
Being branded Mr Reliable, is a good place to start out when you are a young centre-back, but few of us would have predicted the national academy graduate would rise to such dizzying heights. Now playing with Falourr in Eura, Paul has both Globe Cup and top domestic football experience under his belt at a relatively young age. Schottia have been waiting for a while for a solid central defender to come along and claim that position alongside Gareth Souter, and it seems as if Paul can be that individual. Furthermore, twenty-six isn't old for a central defender, so there is every chance he could still improve. Paul followed all this up with a good showing at the Independents Cup.

5. CB. Gareth Souter, 27 | Image Sporting Cenial | Height: 189cm. Weight: 80kg
Since making his debut for Handon United aged 18, there has been a feeling that Souter could be a special player. After leaving the club to join up with Cenian side Sporting Cenial, he impressed the Schottic management team with a string of good performances. He helped his club to some impressive league results, as well as featuring in UICA competition. Souter is a strong player, who takes the game very seriously. He can also be a menacing presence coming forward for set pieces, where he has a habit of getting on the end a cross, or simply being in the right place at the right time.

6. CM Jenny McDonald, 29 | Image Coret Hawks Height: 173cm. Weight: 64kg (c)
A natural leader, who likes to grab the game by the scruff of the neck... as well as the opposition players. McDonald is a good balance of aggression and technical ability; and despite her height, she is a big presence in the midfield. She has previously captained the Willox Street Pirates to multiple league titles, as well as the last-16 of the Globe Cup, forcing her way into the national team set up as a result. Last summer she completed a move to Nephaim side, Coret Hawks, where she now has the chance to prove what she can do at the top level. McDonald was made Schottia captain half-way through the last cycle, and her influence and leadership were no doubt a factor in the Cup of Harmony and Independents Cup runs.

8. R/L/CM Evelyn Conjure, 22 | Image Blue Coast 1981 | Height: 170cm. Weight: 67kg
An extremely versatile player, who can operate anywhere in the midfield, she was something of a surprise inclusion in the Boreal Islands. What was even more of a surprise is the fact that she subsequently went on to force her way into the first team as it looks increasingly as if Mah has unearthed another gem. She ows much of her rise in prominence to Blue Coast's successes over the last eighteen months, winning the Christopheran League, and qualifying for the Champions' Cup. Like McDonald in the centre, she is a small, compact, punchy sort of player, very aggressive and direct. Conjure is also a decent enough passer of the ball, but what sets her apart is her pace, which is hard to match. Whether or not she starts every game will remain to be seen, but she most certainly goes in to the qualifiers in the forefront of her manager's mind.

11. A/CM FC Kim Coultan, 28 | Image Crawford City | Height:160cm Weight:53kg
From the fringes of a side in the second tier of Schottic football to one of the stars of a team, which finished third in the Buyanese Top League. Coultan's journey from scrawny 17-year-old to full-internationalist has been a rags to riches story. The 28-year-old DBC winner became the first woman to play for the senior team when she was capped in the Cup of Harmony five cycles back, and has since gone on to establish herself in the first team. Small in stature even in terms of the other female players, Coultan relies on speed and agility to out-fox the opposition. Good on either foot, she is best known for her crisp, one touch passing and her goal scoring abilities. Five years ago she completed a $14 million move to Cosumarite club Crawford City, making her one of the most expensive Schottic player ever in terms of transfer fees. Coultan's partner is Schottic World Bowl winner, Rupert Kenny.

7. LM/F Chloe Rudden, 27 | Image Sabrefell Athletic | Height:172cm Weight:60kg
Rudden is second to no one in this squad in terms of pace when she drives forward down the left wing. A very successful player at youth level, Rudden won her first Schottia cap aged eighteen, after an impressive debut season with North Laithland in the Nepharim Premiership. The 27-year-old helped the Spiders to some strong league finishes in what is one of the Multiverse's top divisions, and recently earned a move to rivals Sabrefell Athletic. With Rudden's directness, and attacking threat she is also one of the main sources if goals in the current side. In her debut season with the Reds, she made the Premiership team of the season, scoring sixteen goals in the process.

10. AMRLC Eoin Killanen, 30 | Image Mâ Âlâmëómë | Height:176cm Weight:71kg
With seven goals in six World Cup finals appearances, it's easy to see why Killanen is widely regarded as the nation's only real world class player (Although Coutan and Rudden may beg to differ). Starting his career Lammerton, he then moved to FC Zürich in Vyrser, before being picked up by A-League side Kingsgrove. It was with the Brenecian club that he made a name for himself, becoming player of the year award in his one and only season there. Killanen then joined up with Mâ Âlâmëómë in Farfadillis where he has been for the last five seasons. He has had attitude problems at various points in his career, but then he is on song, he had the ability to be a game changer for his side. Schottia's Di Bradini Cup winning captain can play anywhere in the attacking line, right, left, or centre.

13. FC Corinne Martel-Burns, 20 | Image St Johns Arsenal | Height:173cm Weight:65kg
Since she was kicked out of the Handon United youth academy at the age of fifteen, Martel-Burns has constantly been in the headlines for both the right and the wrong reasons. She was Schottia's top goal scorer en route towards lifting the U15 World Cup, despite missing three matches, while suspended for wrestling with the referee. That statement more or less sums her up, as for all the good she has done in her career, there has been moments of lunacy in equal measures. Now playing with Q-League title challengers St Johns Arsenal, the teenager seems to have found her place, where she was the club's top goal scorer last season. In the national team, the appointment of Lionel Mah seems to have been a positive influence on Martel-Burns, who may have turned a corner in going the whole Cup of Harmony and Independents Cup with only a single dismissal. In terms of playing style, she is a strong and aggressive centre-forward, who throws all she has into every match.

Substitutes & Reserves
The players in their respective positions most likely to make an appearance are those with the lower squad numbers. However, 24-34 are more likely to be reserves, called up in case of injuries and suspensions.

12. GK Harry Gould, 25 | Image FC Soessch | Height:188cm Weight:75kg
A first call up for the Soessch man, and one he can be very proud of. There will be several people calling for him to be thrown straight in at the deep-end, but Mah is far too careful a manager for that. That said, his performances for his club certainly merit him getting a shot at some point, so depending on how the campaign goes, expect to see him feature. A good, solid, all round keeper, who has a great command of his area.

33. GK Anna Kurovski, 27 | Image Olympic Nassau Bay | Height:186cm Weight:74kg
Former U21 cap, Kurovski is another uncapped player included in this squad, although she may well have to be content with the bench. She currently plays in New Gelderland, with Olympic Nassau Bay, where she has been for most of her senior career. The girl of Acrean parentage is a popular player back in Tyran, and is well know for her slightly unorthodox style of eye makeup, and her habit of pulling off theatrical saves. Kurovski is definitely a player for the future, and at 27, this won't be the last time we hear of her.

14. R/LB Bella Thompson, 27 Image Mallox | Height: 175cm. Weight: 64kg
Thompson is a quick, feisty, wingback, who lunges into challenges, and is quick to pick herself up after a scuffle. The athletic, ex-Handon Ladies star, built up her reputation in Cosumarite, firstly with Nomad Brotherhood, then with Mallox. She has been understudy to Larry Watt at right back for a number of cycles now, but has always performed well when called upon. She has captained Schottia at youth level before, and is an influential player at the back.

25. RB Esther Abner, 26 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:170cm Weight:63kg
Abner burst onto the scene with Port Patrick United, as part of the squad of player who took the SPL by storm in their first season. Now playing at Port Sebastian, Abner was one of the players pivotal to her former side's promotion seven seasons ago. A dependable right-back, solid in defence but with an emphasis on attack - the 24-year-old is definitely good enough to get some game time, as her performances in the Globe Cup would suggest. Despite her obvious talent, Abner's career has always been side-railed a little by her good looks, which have sadly been afforded more spotlight than her on-field exploits.

32. LB. Molly Killanen, 24 | Image FC Samotath | Height:174cm Weight:64kg
It must make it extra tough to shine, when you are the younger sister of Eoin Killanen, but Molly has done a pretty good job. After leaving the woman's Super League, she put in some solid performances with IFK Aldenskoett in Cosumar, before winning her first cap at the Cup of Harmony. The 24-year-old was part of the Aldenskoett side that got relegated last season, but was thrown a lifeline as she was signed by FC Samotath. Killanen is a busy little player, who likes to get forward down the left and cause defenders problems.

16. CB/RB. Scott Burton, 30 | Image Cornellians Height:179cm Weight:70kg
Slighter in build than the rest of Schottia's current crop of centre backs, the Cornellians defender will still hope to feature a fair bit over the course of qualification. Burton has been in a long tussle with the likes of Hanlon, Souter, and Ross for a starting berth in this side, and despite being a very talented defender, it has been a slow process, gaining his seven international caps. Burton was part of the now infamous golden generation of Schottic football, with the DBC winning kids now populating a great number of the places in this current squad.

17. CB Mark Ünterhausen, 22 | Image FC Jansberg | Height:186cm Weight:75kg
Part of the Ünterhausen footballing dynasty, Mark earned his first cap at the Independents Cup. Most likely seen as the third choice centre-back, the Jansberg player will be hoping to improve on that soon. The 22-year-old is a strong and influential player, having captained his nation in the DCB. Mark's career has been ticking along nicely in Semarland, and after a season out on loan, is now getting some game time with the nation's most famous club. He is currently dating former FC Döllar and U21 teammate, Kersten Dornenberger.

24. CB/DM. Ben Ross, 28 | Image FC Soessch | Height:188cm Weight:81kg
Having captained his country at under-15 and 21 levels, he is a composed and highly professional leader on the pitch. Now at FC Soessch, Ross has perhaps taken something of a step backwards, after a move abroad turned sour. He will be hoping to take his time and rebuild his reputation, before getting his career back on track. A good season with Soessch, who are widely regarded to have one of the SPL's best defences, will have done Ross' chances of adding to his cap count no harm at all.

31. CB Davy Keates, 31 | Image Port Patrick United | Height:193cm Weight:88kg
Since being released by Handon United eleven years ago, Davy Keates has worked his way back up the hard way. A towering, powerfully built player, he has worked hard to shake his reputation for being a bit of a carthorse, developing the more subtle side of his game. Keates was an unused substitute as Schottia lifted the DBC-33 title, and has been instrumental in Port Patrick's rise up the Schottic leagues. Picking up just three caps in six year, it is hard to say how much we will see of him this cycle: However, the 31-year-old was a big part of his club's fifth place finish, which secured them UICA football.

18. L/CM Cerys Kennicot, 29 | Image Centralis Heart | Height:169cm Weight: 60kg
Kennicot was utterly outstanding in her four years with Port Patrick in the top flight, and was easily one of the best crossers of a ball in the SPL. Now with Centralis Heart who have struggled a little in UICA competition over the past two seasons, she will be determined to help them get back to the big-time. More technical than physical, she has the skills to ghost past players, before unleashing her trademark left peg. She is probably behind Rudden in this current squad, and will be competing with Rexmont for the first back-up role on the left flank.

20. R/LM Steven Rexmont, 22 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:180cm Weight: 67kg
Rexmont has been one of the strongest players in the SPL over the last five years, firstly with Dundee then with Port Sebastian. He was first called up for Schottia two years ago, but this perhaps can a little too soon, and the winger struggled to push Rudden in the first team. The strong winger has since matured however, and some good performances in the Independents Cup, and Port Sebastian's Globe Cup run, will have given him more confidence. If Rexmont plays as well as he has done in the SPL, he could easily be a big player for Schottia on the road to SJG and Quebec.

23. AMR Jonathan Bia, 26 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:170cm Weight:72kg
Bia has been an ever-present part of the Schottia squad, since he became the country's youngest ever full international just a few day after his sixteenth birthday. While having been capped over fifty times, incredibly, only four have been from the start of the match. With Coultan and Killanen normally occupying that role for Schottia, it has meant that for all his talent, Bia's chances have been limited. The Dahamy born left-footed, right-sided winger is a firm fans' favourite with his club Port Sebastian, and has a habit of cracking in strikes from impossible angles.

34. DM Jim Gerrish, 23 | Image Dundee | Height:180cm Weight:75kg
Jim "The Hacker" Gerrish, despite his derogatory nickname, has been a very effective player for Dundee since stepping into the breach after Vera Cummings left for Port Sebastian. He has gained something of a reputation as a hatchet man, but in truth, the 23-year-old is a lot more than that. Endless energy going forward, and a strong presence in front of the back four - Gerrish definitely has potential to win caps.

22. CM Thio Crillin, 31 | Image Olympic Nassau Bay | Height: 188cm. Weight: 88kg
A big player for both Myrmidon and Hollin before making the switch to Gelder side Nassau Bay, Crillin has been in and around the Schottia national team for the last ten years. Being able to operate either as a defensive or attacking midfielder, Crillin has proven himself to be a useful squad player. Yet another DCB winner, Crillin has been tipped for the top from a young age, and while he has gone on to impress for both club and country, he has never replicated the form he found during the WC-73 campaign.

29. CM Gary Corsie, 31 | Image Chatswood | Height:190cm Weight:80kg
On a good day Corsie is a box-to-box midfielder who combines stamina and graft, with subtlety, composure, and a keen eye for goal. On a bad day he is disinterested, lazy and a bomb scare in possession. Which Gary Corsie it is that turns up can be anyone’s guess. This inconsistency has meant periods out of the starting line-up for the big midfielder, however, for those mangers able to get the best out of him, he has been a powerful asset. We will need to wait and see with regards to how much Corsie features over the next two years; we know that Lionel Mah isn't a fan, but then again, it would be strange to call up such a divisive player and then not use him.

27. CM Vera Cummings, 26 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:177cm Weight: 63kg
Cummings made a big impact on this Schottia squad, with her no nonsense attitude and work ethic impressing her new boss. Like Rexmont, she followed manager Jock Sonny from Dundee to Port Sebastian, and adjusted extremely well. The 26-year-old became one of the more frequently used substitutes during the last set of WC-qualifiers and was seen as an effective understudy to Ünterhausen. Cummings has been touted as the next Gary Corsie by the media; let's hope that only refers to her on-field attributes. The success she has seen at club level, combined with some good performances in the Independents Cup, should ensure she adds to her cap total.

19. D/ACM Johannas Ünterhausen, 24 | Image Real Chinchinhua | Height: 186cm. Weight: 77kg
The jury are still out as to whether or not Johannas is the star that was promised, when he first burst onto the scene as a 15-year-old playing with FC Döllar. It could easily be argued that he has never reached the level we all expected playing in Taeshan, but either way, he seems to have to emerged as a nation team regular under Lionel Mah. Johannas has represented his nation at all levels, and is equally comfortable anchoring the midfield as he is in attack, having been employed in several different positions in his international career. In terms of physical and technical attributes, he has the potential to become a world-class player, he perhaps just needs to show more of a level head. He will definitely feature heavily during the qualifiers, and despite losing his place to Blue Coast's Evelyn Conjure, he will be pushing hard to get it back.

15. AMC Camila Soria Luna, 18 | Image Marine Coast United | Height:176cm Weight:65kg
The Port Christopher born talent, Luna, has never really been out of the headlines in her short professional career. Exploiting a loophole to play for her former nation of residence rather than her nation of birth, has instantly made her a bit of a hate figure in Port Christopher, who have branded her a traitor. All that nasty business to one side, the U15 WC winner, and current U21s captain is one of the best young players to come through the ranks in a long time. Luna is a creative midfield playmaker, who is extremely comfortable on the ball, and always looking for the killer pass. The Project +90 graduate, now playing with Vilitan side Marine Coast United, is also capable of some fantastic trickery, and offers something quite different from the rest of the side who tend to be more direct.

9. FR/C John McCormack, 27 | Image Centralis Heart | Height:186cm Weight:79kg
Reaching his prime now, the Centralis Heart striker is has been a big player for Schottia over the last two seasons. In terms of his battle with Crew and Martle-Burns for the loan striker role, he has been in and out of the team, but don't underestimate his importance. The former Lammerton player is a strong, direct runner, who can also play wide right at a push. He is always hanging on the shoulder of the last defender, looking for that killer through ball to latch onto.

21. FC Heron Crew, 29 | Image Eastal Lunar | Height:186cm Weight: 78kg
Crew was a little bit of a late developer, having been nowhere near the national team radar, until his 22-goal debut season in the SPL. His success at Port Patrick then lead him to the V-League and Turorian side Cednia Beach in a $5 million move, before he shifted to Eastal Lunar for an undisclosed fee. Crew is the heavyweight option up front, more so in style than in stature. He is a natural target man, who is always looking to hold up the ball, or get a flick on the end of a ball played into the box. Not the prettiest player out there, but he is certainly another string to the bow in attack.

26. FC Lucy Curren, 27 | Image Maximum Rovers | Height:177cm Weight:63kg
Lucy Curren is a good example of how an average player can get to the top by working hard and boxing clever. After leaving Lammerton City for Nephara at the age of eighteen, she bided her time on the fringes of the Rover first team for a number of seasons before establishing herself as a first team regular. Having clearly worked on her pace, and no doubt her finishing, Curren managed a career best haul of sixteen goals last season, as she continues to go from strength to strength. The fact that her rise in the national team has mirrored that of John McCormack's has meant that she hasn't picked up anywhere near the number of caps she might have otherwise.

28. FC Elspeth Glendening, 22 | Image Port James Athletic | Height:179cm Weight: 67kg
Not much of a surprise to see this young woman in the list of 34, after what has been two very strong seasons domestically. She has become something of a talismanic figure at Athletic, whose fans have been screaming for her inclusion in this squad. The first talented youngster to come through the ranks at Port James for a long time has a useful habit of being in the right place at the right time. This campaign might be something of a learning process for Glendening, but we have seen young players come in and make a big impact before, so don't be surprised to see her used at some point.

30. FC Višnja Brankovič, 27 | Image Eastern Stars | Height:177cm Weight: 60kg
The Schottic Regional Development graduate has made a big splash since signing for Cenian side Lake Cenial Chimeras, with an incredible 87 goals in three season, easily making her one of Schottia's most prolific goal scorers. Since the CeniLeague's merger at the start of last season, she has since moved to Isle of Avon side Eastern Stars, where she seems to be making an impact. Brankovic, who is of Syaran parentage, has an undergraduate law degree, and is currently studying a masters degree part-time.

Harbour Hill Stadium
Location: Handon, South Schottia
Capacity: 55,000. Including some safe standing sections.

Schottia
Situated in the region of Tyran, Schottia is a small diverse country of 6.6 million people. Throughout the region, Schottia is best known for its progressive social policies, far left politics, and whisky distilleries. The nation is a group of five small islands, located in the middle of the Bara Sea, north of Cacerta and off the west coast of Acrea. The southern Schottic landscape is largely characterised by arable farmland, pine forests, and windswept pebble beaches. The North Island, by contrast, is almost entirely made up of rugged mountain ranges and bleak scree-slopes, where the towns and cities, for the most part, hug the narrow bands of flat land around the coast.

Schottia was once the easternmost part of an Ossorian Empire, the remnants of which still stretch around most of what are now the continents of Eracura and Siduri. Schottia broke away from the Ossorians in 1867, following internal unrests, which saw the small fledgling nation take the first steps down the road towards becoming a republic. Schottia as we know it today was constituted in 1922, following a workers' uprising, out of which the country's socialist politics was born.

Today, Schottia is a small, peaceful nation; with thriving fishing, tourism, and drinks industries. Most people living in South Schottia are ethnically Schottic or Ossorian, although particularly in the bigger cities, you will meet a range of people from all over the region, who have at one point fled major conflicts, or simply chosen to study or settle. The North Island of Schottia is similar, however it also has a large Shalumite-German population, as well as pockets of French speaking communities.

Handon
The most international of all Schottia's cities is its capital Handon. The diverse population of 1.1 million includes over 200,000 students who attend the city's four universities and five technical colleges. The harbour city is a unique blend of the old and the new, with modern buildings slotted into gap sites around 17th and 18th century architecture. Of all Schottia's towns and cities Handon is by far the most vibrant, with award winning restaurants, clubs, and bars; as well as no shortage of excellent hotels and apartments. For most people in the region, Handon is synonymous with Schottia, and it is often the case that visitors rarely take time to see some of the more remote, rural communities. Built on a peninsula, the south of the city is what many would consider to be the 'city centre.' As well as being the location of Harbour Hill Stadium, it is also home to all of the main administrative buildings, and the more affluent parts of the city.

Travel
Getting to Schottia is reasonably straight forward, if not a little time consuming. Despite the fact that the country consists of five islands, it is unlikely that many visitors will arrive by sea, due to the distances involved. Almost everyone arriving in the country, either fans or players, will fly into Handon International Airport. H.I.A handles almost all of the nation's incoming flights, as well as being a main stop off northwest in or out of the region. Anyone arriving by sea will most likely dock at the ferry terminal in Granton, just to the north of Handon.

Travel within Schottia is usually pretty painless. Public transport it well funded, and free bus and tram services make getting around the cities cheap, and stress free. For longer distances, all major towns and cities are connected by a high-speed rail service. Schottic citizens pay high levels of tax, but one of the plus sides is that they have a public transport system that works.

Languages
The official languages of Schottia are Scots, English, German, and French, however, English is the one most likely to be heard in the streets. Most people living in Schottia are multilingual, speaking combinations of the four national languages, depending on the area they were born. In addition to this, there is a heavy emphasis on languages in schools from the age of five onwards, meaning that it is not unusual for Schottians to speak up to four or five of the main regional languages with some degree of fluency.

Weather
Most of Schottia has a temperate maritime climate, with warm summers typically around 25°C, and cool snowy winters ranging from -8 to +8°C. Whatever time of the year you're fans and players are visiting Schottia, it is likely to be wet, and it's perhaps best to bring an umbrella.

Currency and Shopping
The currency in Schottia is the Schottic Pound. The current exchange rate is just under two NS dollars to the pound, meaning that certain luxury goods might seem expensive. On the flip side of this, food in the supermarkets is available at cost price, as is clothing in government stores - the same can also be said for most non-luxury items. Schottia isn't exactly one of the world's main shopping centres, and strict rules on advertising can often mean that the High Streets can seem a little drab to those more used to eye-catching posters, and flashy billboards. That said, the larger more international cities of Soessch and Handon have their fair share of fashion outlets, and foreign eateries. While these regulations might have limited the expansion of international businesses, the gap in the market has been filled up small independent clothing boutiques, family-run bars, and restaurants.

Eastfield Lodge Roster for World Cup 77

Demonym: Eastfielder

Eastfield Lodge is a pretty glorious nation, somewhat situated in Northern Rushmore - in reality, there's a very small island (acting as a transport hub) which hosts a portal linking the NSverse to a small bubble universe, wherein the rest of the Imperial Commonwealth is located (barring a couple of nations, but they’re linked up in other ways). The IC part describes the fact that there are several empires contained within one superstructure – divisions which are somewhat reflected in the convoluted league structure.

Those of you who know this nation well however will wonder what has happened to the Whoniverse (the universe of Doctor Who, the TV programme). Don’t worry, I will (hopefully) RP what went on. To those who don’t know, this nation used be in the NSverse, but due to the acts of a lone madman from The Holy Empire (mad, or pitiful, the legends are a bit shaky), Eastfield Lodge almost vanished from existence, leaving behind a small island (now in Rushmore), attached to a portal connecting here to the Whoniverse. Things happened, the portal became unstable, and we had to form a bubble universe, and as a result, the resulting temporal shockwave both wiped out all electronic records, and did some weird stuff to people’s ages (hence why some names in the team may seem recognisable).

Anyways, because of the initial portal, whilst humans are the overwhelming majority of the populace here, don't be surprised to find several other races and much advanced technology here. Some more historical information can be found here, in lieu of a factbook (NB: a lot of the information there is inaccurate though, TG me for clarification).

Back to the nation itself, Eastfield Lodge is probably the best place to live in the entirety of Rushmore, according to the WA at any rate. Amongst the accolades heaped upon are: Most Compassionate Citizens, Most Beautiful Environments, Happiest Citizens, Most Dedicated Public Healthcare, Healthiest Citizens, Least Corrupt Government, Longest Average Lifespan, Lowest Crime Rates, Nicest Citizens, Largest Public Transportation Department, Safest, Smartest Citizens, Most Popular Tourist Destinations, Best Weather and Largest Welfare Programs. Also of note is the fact that, in a region containing Saintland, Eastfield Lodge is the Most Devout nation, with Islam being the national religion, and that we have the Highest Police Ratios, so do not be alarmed by the sheer number of police officers.

Lodger City Memorial Stadium
Location: New Lodger City
Capacity: 150,000
Description: The home of Eastfielder football, the stadium was built on the ruins of the old capital of Eastfield Lodge, Lodger City, which was flattened in a double disaster (severe floods from dams bursting and an explosion from an unknown source, killing much of the population of the city and rendering the city useless. Administrative functions were transferred over to Lodgertia, the city began to be rebuilt, and it was decided that this stadium would be one of the monuments erected in place. The inside walls contains inscriptions of the names of all the dead – just under 9 million. The stadium used to play host to the two classic giants of EL football – RGS Athletic and VLC FC - until both had their new stadiums finished; it is now only used for internationals and cup matches.

Parliament Stadium
Location: Lodgertia
Capacity: 80,000
Description: Formerly the second largest stadium in Eastfield Lodge (until King Iqbal II and Vorgan Park were completed), behind the Memorial Stadium in New Lodger City, it was built in the centre of Lodgertia, the capital of Eastfield Lodge, and the Imperial Commonwealth. It was named due to the fact that the Parliament is based just a few hundred metres down the road; in fact, the original stadium was actually joined to the Parliament building, as an area where MPs could watch or even engage in sport with the public, as well as being a designated protest site. However, with Lodgertia becoming more built up, it was decided that the stadium needed to be built up as well. It is home to Lodgertia United and Lodgertia City alongside being temporary hosts of RGS Athletic and VLC FC (when Lodger City was being rebuilt), and in the past has hosted several international matches, including the final of SBCC 27 and a group in both stages of Market Cup 4.

Manager: Lowell Brown
Age: 59. Manager of Seaton Town, Brown is known in Eastfield Lodge for being one of the fairest and impartial managers in the top flight - if his team were lucky with a decision, he will not claim otherwise. Prior to being selected as National Team manager, he had managed on the international scene previously, being put in charge of both the men’s and women’s Olympic football teams.
Coach: Shabeen Ahmad III
Age: 64. He went down in Eastfield Lodge history as having scored an absurd 201 goals in 215 appearances for the EL national team (records are still being compiled, but he looks likely to be the human player with the highest tally). Still an inspiration to everyone and even at this age his skill is noticeable, even if his agility has waned. He has been the main offensive coach for several World Cups now.

Formation: 4-1-2-3
Image

The formation is a weird variant on the classic basic 4-3-3. Here, there is the one holding midfielder, and the other two are pushed up to play just off the ST as attacking midfielders, whilst the WFs are also slightly tucked in from a usual position. This allows them more of an equal choice of either cutting in or going out wide for the cross, which may be met by the other winger or one of the midfielders. The front five can drift to other positions at any time, just to keep defences on their toes. Defensively, the AMs will drop back and slightly out wide or into the middle as required, and are decently proficient at dispossessing the ball and using it well. The DM is mainly there to guard the defence, and is adept at picking out a pass (short or long), and helping to dictate plays. The CBs are as standard, but the FBs are given the freedom to roam forwards as far as they can get away with, and more often than will get involved in attacking plays, with some crosses from both deep and closer in.
In terms of goal scoring, the ST will get the bulk of the goals, with good contributions from both the AMs and the WFs as well. The WFs will get most of the assists, followed closely by the AMs, then the ST and DM.

NB: As the people of EL are extremely compassionate, and very civilised (despite what you may say about the religion), it would be uncharacteristic for the coaches/players to lose their temper, dive deliberately (jumping out of the way of bad tackles and falling awkwardly doesn't count), to be sent to the stands (if the ref is clearly very biased however...), spit, argue with the ref or fight. Players will also tend to inform the referee about mistakes/clarifications in judgement regarding throw-ins, fouls given but with no contact and goal kicks/corner kicks (plus other bouts of honesty - up to you).

The Freisan Farf Freitball Francitian hereby presents the Farf roster for the 77th Edition of the World Cup
Nation Name: The Oulandish Lands of Farfadillis
Demonym: Farf (plural Farves)
Team Nickname: la Vherderoja
Honours: AOCAF Cup 43 and 48 Winners

Kits

Manager
Name: Tíbürçìó Çötàvíê
Age: 51
First Cycle: 75
Record: The FFFF found working it out to be too much of a hassle
Win Percentage: See above
Description: The mastermind behind Mâ Âlâmëómë's overlordship of the Farf league. Tíbürçìó's an eccentric man, even by Farf standards. He may seem like a bit of a tool sometimes, but some others he looks like the sharpest one in the shed. During his time at the Greens, he did away with defense altogether at times, Solomon Etezadi bailing him out on more than one occasion. He has no Etezadis now, though. What he does have, however, is many players that he has already managed, as the Greens' youth academy is the best in the nation. He's also much more in touch with the players than Pekarik ever was, as he's culturally much more aligned with them, and tactically too. Current internal conflicts may make this last sentence less truthful than in past competitions.

Assistant Manager
Name: Ichi Tuzzio
Age: 43
First Cycle: 75
Description: One of the finest footballers Farfadillis has ever produced, Ichi's obviously a face any Farf would recognize. A few years and a couple of bullets after his last match with the national team, he's back as assistant manager, hoping to one day become a renowned manager. Probably. He's never actually made a statement about his intentions, though he has mentioned in passing that he wants to be able to go back to walking without a cane some day.

Starters
#1 - GK
Name: Calogero André Metz Lille
Age: 30
Positions: GK
Team: Image Cassandra City Image
Description: Metz becoming the starting goalkeeper for the national team surprised nobody when it happened. He always had the talent. However, very few would’ve ever predicted he’d reach the heights he reached this season for Cassandra City. How many goalkeepers can say they’ve been named best players of their leagues? He was vital for Cassandra City’s successful title run. His great reflexes and timing for getting out of his line stand out.

#4 - LB
Name: Drê Tâás Röènôùjýâ Ìrrýbâuzârâ
Age: 31
Positions: LB/LM/RB
Team: Image Brinemouth Image
Description: One of Farfadillis’ finest players, there was a point when many question he would reach the potential many imagined he had when he was young. However, he proved all the doubters wrong, by becoming an important part of Nepharim side Brinemouth’s starting eleven and, more importantly, one of Farfadillis’ key players. His defending can even be called fairly good nowadays, thanks to the experience that comes with about fifteen years of top flight football. He’s got the offensive skillset of an attacking midfielder - he could very well fill in there if it was necessary. As a result, he’s extremely dangerous when bombing down the flank, and adds an extra layer to the team’s already multi-layered offense. Age is starting to catch up, though; this is probably his last World Cup at this level.

#2 - CB
Name: Süns Söh Sârâsâ
Age: 23
Positions: CB
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Mâ Âlâmëómë's youth academy does not stop churning out promising youngsters. Süns is a surprisingly small (for a centreback) yet very fast player with fairly decent skill with the ball and impressive tactical awareness. Few players can read the game like him, even at such a young age. Also, few players have as much top flight experience as him at his age. His last season for Mâ Âlâmëómë was so impressive Tíbürçìó has decided to hand him the starting spot over the experienced Thjorgias Pickton.

#6 - RB
Name: Trejo Maes Carreño
Age: 27
Positions: LB/RB
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: Trejo was part of a couple of DBC squads, but he never really impressed. Some seasons later, he burst into the scene with Avenida Leal, becoming a dominant presence on the left flank, match after match. He's fast, he's versatile (so much so that he's usually played as a left-back despite being right-footed), he can bomb forward and he can kind of defend. His continuous improvement has made many people question how he could fly under the radar for so long.

#5 - CM [C]
Name: Ruy Alexander Monrazón Dianaslocas
Age: 28
Positions: DM/CM
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: A tough tackler with a warrior's spirit and a great understanding of the game. He's pretty good with the ball, even if it's not his defining quality. Add to that his tremendous endurance and you’ve got yourself one fine slightly-defensive midfielder. Despite his relative lack of muscle and definite lack of height, he’s got an imposing presence on the pitch by virtue of attitude alone. This has made him the natural choice for the captain’s armband.

#11 - LM
Name: Rübéãn Tôr Rämír
Age: 32
Positions: LM/RM/LW/RW
Team: Image Dí Maozöxê Image
Description: Tôr is the kind of player that could've started for the national team aged twenty if he had been born a tad later. However, Fôx and Kâí could only be displaced by the ticking clock. Rübéãn has got an admirable workrate, even if his defensive skills are decidedly average. He's got great technique, and a knack for the unexpected. He likes to play more vertiginously, so we're likely to see the team trying more through passes with Tôr's presence. He's fast despite his age and relatively ambidextrous, which pretty much doubles how dangerous he can be.

#3 - RM
Name: Scheherazade Camila Meier Butragueño
Age: 27
Positions: LM/LW/RM/RW
Team: Image Sabrefell Moths Image
Description: The first Farf woman to get to the national team. The country still needs to fully adapt to that. Born in Puerto Farolero to a Nepharim father and a Farf mother, Scheherazade has proved she's Farf by being crazy enough to decline a call-up to the then-World Champions to play for Farfadillis. Two-footed, versatile, with a lot of pace and great crossing ability, it's not hard to see why Tíbürçìó thought she was worth breaking tradition.

#8 - OM
Name: Ror Jevdjevic-Hadsic Obad
Age: 27
Positions: OM
Team: Image Crisisbless Image
Description: Fôrté's new partner in crime, Ror has been a bit of a late bloomer. Back when both were in the DBC squads, Fôrté was the rising star, while Ror was lucky to get any minutes. Just a couple of years and a move to the Nepharim league later, Jevdjevic-Hadsic's now starting for the actual national team. He's an overall very complete offensive midfielder. He likes to drop deeper and help link up better, so he's not quite as deadly up front as his partner, but he's better at reading the game and dictating the tempo.

#10 - OM
Name: Fôrté Mâás Wínrôuge Çíânflöné
Age: 27
Positions: OM
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Though hype can definitely ruin young players, it couldn’t ruin Wínrôuge. Fôrté's workrate may be very bad, and he might be the worst player in the world when it comes to defending, but he's as scary as offensive midfielders come. Vicious and knotty dribbling, defense-splitting passing, a striker's sense of smell and, most importantly, ambidexterity have made this player far too much for defenders in the FFL to handle. If he manages to guide the national team to new heights before retiring, he would wind up the undisputed best Farf player in history.

#9 - ST
Name: Stiin Siorrha'Asione Rousiné-Le-Mans
Age: 22
Positions: ST
Team: Image Violence Chariots Image
Description: Stiin’s the new Friekder Dandalleion. Astonishing pace and extremely clinical finishing are his two biggest assets, but he’s very good at pretty much everything considering his age. The one thing in which he differs immensely from Friekder Dandalleion is his discipline. He is so lacking in it, it could and probably will prove to be his downfall. For now, though, he’s even managed to get a starting spot in the national team.

#7 - ST
Name: Täjó Ôýâtúfâ Çíânflöné Rütü
Age: 26
Positions: TQ/ST
Team: Image Raynor City United Image
Description: Football sometimes runs in the family. That is the case of the Çíânflöné family. Just like his cousin Fôrté, Täjó is immensely talented at kicking balls. He's got acute tactical awareness and a consequent knack for exploiting defensive gaps with his speed, coupled with some sharp finishing skills. He’s one of only three Farf players to have won the Champions’ Cup.

Substitutes

#12
Name: Lafayette Tifoxé Loiseau-Cousteau
Age: 25
Positions: GK
Team: Image Jungle Strike Image
Description: Originally touted as the new Erfaon Lisdiren, Lafayette might not actually ever achieve expectations, but he's still a very promising goalkeeper nonetheless. He's still young for a goalkeeper, so he's still got time to displace Calogero. Lafayette is currently a starter for Vilitan big club Jungle Strike, well-known to all Farves, so he's definitely no slouch.

#23
Name: Íüé Tgô Sôsdêrê
Age: 19
Positions: GK
Team: Image Dí Maozöxê Image
Description: Íüé’s future is very bright. Aged just nineteen, he’s already started a full season for his club Dí Maozöxê, a big Farf club. Now he’s also a part of the Farf squad, even if just as third-choice goalkeeper. He’s very temperamental, but otherwise solid in everything for someone his age.

#14
Name: Jülí Mâsârí t’Ôrté
Age: 26
Positions: LB
Team: Image Avenida Victoria Image
Description: Farfadillis is currently suffering a terrible shortage of quality left-backs. This has led to Jülí’s call-up despite him being displaced by a foreign non-international player at his boyhood club Dí Maozöxê. This prompted him to sign for Avenida Victoria, where he’s quietly been decent enough for a desperate call-up from Tíbürçìó. Don’t expect him to set the world alight.

#15
Name: Thjorgias Archere Pickton Exhaurré
Age: 30
Positions: CB/RB/DM
Team: Image La Nueva Avenida Image
Description: The Farf son of Apoxian Grant Pickton, one of the most influential players in the history of the Farf league. Also, yes, Grant was daft enough to name his son so extravagantly. But anything goes in Farfadillis as far as names are concerned, so he was not relentlessly bullied for it as a kid. His playing style is very much like his blood: he's not quite a down-to-earth Apoxian defender, but he's also not quite a reckless Farf "defender." He really flourished under the guidance of his father at La Nueva Avenida. However, Süns Söh has proved more reliable with Pickton aging pretty badly, so he’s been relegated to the bench.

#16
Name: Jallerrhé Charif Ljungman van Hell
Age: 27
Positions: RB
Team: Image Firewood City Image
Description: Ljungman's yet another offensively-talented Farf fullback/wingback/winger/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. He's quite good defensively for one, and he's also very fast. He's not very big or strong, but he makes up for it with a lot of tactical awareness. He's also very calm, though perhaps overly so. Don't expect him to get sent off for an emotional outburst.

#19
Name: Joan Nonhagatte Röéréé
Age: 21
Positions: CM
Team: Image Dí Maozöxê Image
Description: Joan's father, Joan Fer Nonhagatte, is considered a legend by Dí Maozöxê fans. He was never good enough to make it to the national team, mainly because of having too much competition, but his son looks like he'll succeed where he failed. Joan is everything his father was but better. He's got his acute passing, only more acute, his elegant dribbling, only better, his tactical awareness, but more of it and he’s faster to boot. Don’t let his age fool you: if Ruy Monrazón wasn’t one of the best players in the team, Joan would be starting.

#17
Name: Rüx Çìró Albuquerque
Age: 25
Positions: LM/LW
Team: Image Neuville Scythers Image
Description: Jê's a winger with great pace and dribbling. He cuts in often, but he's great at just outpacing and crossing too. His workrate is commendable, and his defensive skillset not too shabby. He's cursed when it comes to penalties, though. His father was killed because of him missing one in a regional competition when he played for Dí Maozöxê's youth team (hence his move to Neuville Scythers now), and to add insult to injury he missed the decisive penalty against Semarland in the U18WC. And an important penalty in the AOCAF Cup we still managed to win. Probably needs psychiatric help at this point. And, no, he did not get it when he needed it most. Expect him to be one of the most unstable players on the pitch.

#13
Name: Mâás Jân Fôx Düçélájé
Age: 37
Positions: RM/RW
Team: Image Directus Image
Description: Fôx is a contender for best Farf player in history, and it is very much justified. However, at the age of thirty-seven, he’s no longer a player that can change a match in seconds. Though he had announced his retirement last World Cup, he seems to have changed his mind. He’s no apparently fine with being relegated to the bench. His experience will be very valuable. Plus, who knows? Maybe we’ll see a bit of the old Fôx.

#20
Name: Lázár Kovács Eleonóra Fulop
Age: 22
Positions: RM/RW
Team: Image Holdenberg Image
Description: Lázár Eleonóra’s eerily similar to Mâás Fôx. Plays on the right wing, transferred to a Euran club at a very young age, lots of potential. The reasons for the comparison are obvious. However, their playing styles differ slightly. Lázár’s relies a lot more on his pace and his endurance, constantly running up and down the pitch. He’s not as good as Mâás with the ball, but considerably better at everything physical. How far will he go? It’s anyone’s guess, but “Very far”. seems like a reasonable answer.

#18
Name: Groaré Sasca Ladargaelle
Age: 21
Positions: OM
Team: Image Gorfalle Town Image
Description: A call-up to a Di Bradini Cup in which he got no playing time was Sasca’s entire claim to fame until this season. Playing for Gorfalle Town, a club that lacks the talent clubs like Mâ Âlâmëómë and La Nueva Avenida sport in the same league, Groaré managed to impress pretty much everyone with his technique. He’s small and slow, but he’s reminiscent of Alex Terán. He sees passes others can’t see, and dribbles at moments others wouldn’t. He’s got more flair than anyone else in the country, and he’s young. That means that, in Tíbürçìó’s mind, the call-up’s obvious.

#21
Name: Elexhé Renzo Nofzaleiné Tüjâká
Age: 30
Positions: ST
Team: Image Colonial Sile Image
Description: Farf strikers are usually pictured as very pacey. Dandalleion, Roga, Tenian, the Fuego brothers, Dragãozý, Cornelio. Tenian was the slowest out of them, and his explosiveness in the box was still one of the most important aspects of his game. Not Nofzaleiné, though. His running speed is pretty average, however, he more than makes up for it with a first touch that puts even Pickton's rudimentary long passes to sleep, a knack for exploiting bad positioning and some very clinical finishing. He's also a very resourceful striker. He always attempts to pull off unorthodox ways to score when no other options are left, without every worrying about how ridiculous he might end up looking. He often screws up, as you'd expect, but, when he nails it, it's memorable. Siorrha’Asione has displaced him, but he’s still very lethal. Expect him to get a lot of playing time.

#22
Name: Tjêtê Vüs Dü Síbírí Ráäx
Age: 21
Positions: OM/ST
Team: Image Dí Maozöxê Image
Description: Tjêtê is, along with Joan, Dí Maozöxê's most promising player at the moment. Short and very skillful, as well as very fast, Tjêtê fits the mold of the typical Farf attacker. He’s very versatile, too. He can play as both an offensive midfielder and a striker. Even as a winger if the situation calls for it - he’s got the appropriate skillset, after all. He’s unlucky to be almost exactly Siorrha’Asione’s age. If it weren’t for him, Tjêtê would have the starting spot guaranteed at some point in the next two or three years.

Lanzo FA Squad for WC77

The Psychotic Dictatorship of Lanzo has risen to power 1 and a half years ago before temporarily disappearing into the midsts of the ocean. After the 4-6 month hiatus from the multiverse, the nation composed of sinister squids has arisen from the deep seas of the Ultimaverse to spread their plots once more. With the help of many, many interpreters, Lanzo has gathered enough attention to make their ultimate debut in the NS World Cup! Will the sinister squids prove themselves worthy of such a stage?

Roster

With the powers of toxic waste and bioengineering, the squids have developed a new breed of squid clones. The clones have been given special code before being mass produced, which allows each one to take the form of another entity. For the tournament, special clones have been created to resemble of that of a young, strong leader (George Bush). This form will be the appearance of each and every player and staff member on the team. No clone has any actual name, but challengers of the team are free to create aliases for them.
Image
This is a clone squid given no special coding whatsoever. You'll likely see many of these in small aquariums to "cheer" on the team.

Image
This is the basic appearance of the squid clones in the WC qualifiers. You may notice they look a little "bushy".

RP Permissions- Anything goes really. The clones' only weaknesses are acid, explosives, and saltine crackers. You can RP their deaths, but just know that several backup clone squids have also been produced. Just, you know, don't kill my entire team in one go, ok?

National information.
Located within the Esportiva, Port Christopher is an unincorporated state of the Free Colony of Schottia. The nation is home to just over 1,000,000 people, the vast majority living in the City of Port Christopher. The small country is home to a diverse population of various ethnicities and backgrounds. Port Christopher has an extremely high population density especially around the coastal areas.

The colony was established as a trading post in 1879, when the then, Eastern Ossorían Empire, were looking for a way into the Esportivan market. The wealthy polyarchy of merchants swamped to Port Christopher in a bid to take advantage of this situation.

At the time the Ossorí government came under heavy criticism for their treatment of the native population. Many of whom it is believed had their homes destroyed and were either sold into slavery or died from disease and hunger as their fields were dug up for cash crops. General Lewis Home-Christopher, whom the colony is named after, is still a controversial figure in Schottia today for the methods he used in securing the area.

The Port Christopher merchants quickly became some of the richest in what were the beginnings of a Schottic maritime empire, taking over from where the previous administrations had left off. The new colony flourished along with the EOE at this time and was another hub to new enlightenment and developments in science, education, literature and philosophy. The City of Port Christopher became the Empire's second city and one of the richest Tyranan ports.

The Recent Divisions.
The idea of Port Christopher having a nation team has never been unanimously popular. The Islanders are Schottic passport holders, and football in the territory has always struggled to shake its reputation for being somewhat mediocre. Current manager and former New Dundee Star striker, Jim Reid, had made it something of a personal mission for almost ten years to see a WCC accredited Port Christopher side in the Baptism of Fire, but all his campaigning failed to yield a result. The turning point in his quest was the formation of the island's Super-League, which brought investment and foreign talent Christopheran football for the first time. Seen as a way to make money by further enhancing the reputation of the league, the clubs' wealthy owners and backers threw their weight behind a Football Association of Port Christopher.

Unsurprisingly, for an island of just over one million, Port Christopher's national team found the going tough. Some early successes, including a third place BoF finish, and a run to the last-sixteen of the Runner Cup were overshadowed by lacklustre performances, and poor results in the World Cup Qualifiers. It turned out that the territory's side were not improving Port Christopher's reputation at all - in fact it was doing the opposite - thus wounding the pride of the billionaire sociopaths and narcissist, who populated the FA's boardroom.

With even a few of Port Christopher's rising stars beginning to turn their back on the island, exploiting loopholes in their nationality to play for Schottia, the FA had had enough, and decided to pull the plug. It is hard to say if what happened next was a symptom or a cause of this, but either way, fallowing a shock defeat to Nuevo Caracas, there was a massive player revolt, with almost a dozen stars walking out on Jim Reid and his team.

Somehow, against all the odds, Port Christopher recovered though, and with no support from the board, Reid managed to guide his side to the World Cup finals in Ceni and Electrum. Exactly how he pulled this off is unknown, as there were fixtures for which he struggled to find twenty-three professional players. It seemed that the small group of player he did have were giving it their all for Reid, and their 'us against the world' attitude saw them through.

Quite incredibly, despite all of this, the FA were still hell-bent of withdrawing their WCC membership; seeing Reid's and his players' success as a slap in the face. The team managed to side step this move however, having Reid himself elected as FA chairperson in time for the start of the WC77-Qualifers.

The Republic of Port Christopher: Home venue info
As a result of the recent divisions mentioned above, the new "players' cooperative" were still left with several obstacles to overcome, not least of all where they were going to play. Luckily, being a group of millionaire footballers has some advantages, and they formulated a plan. Seizing control of a manmade island, just meters the wrong side of Christopheran waters, the team set about constructing a stadium and training complex, allowing them to play their home fixture out of reach from their detractors back on the mainland. The players refer to this island affectionately as the Republic of Port Christopher.

This is where the team's home matches will take place during this cycle, although the majority of fans will stay on the mainland itself. Hotels are currently under construction on the two kilometre square island, but will not be ready in time for the matches. Travelling fans will instead be required to fly into the international airport on the mainland, and take a boat to the matches, which has been put on at the home side's expense. However, players and coaches will be provided with comfortable lodgings near where the matches will be taking place, along with access to their own training pitch.

Matches will be played at the Jim Reid Stadium, which has only just finished construction. The stadium has seating for five thousand, with safe standing for a further three thousand more. A lot of work has been done on the playing surface itself, so in terms of the matches, play shouldn't be affected.

The general feel of this island is a place in flux, with buildings springing up here and there, and a dusty unfinished feel. Also, players should bear in mind that this is a tropical island, and in the summer months, the heat and humidity will be a big factor.

The Squad
GK: Scott Torrance, 28 New Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 189cm Weight: 82kg
GK: Carus Laxium, 35 Patria Poble Image Height: 192cm Weight: 87kg
GK: Donald Gordon, 34 New Saint Johns Image Height: 192cm Weight: 87kg

The goalkeeper department is one where Port Christopher have always been at least reasonably well off. For a nation of their size they are lucky to have three very solid and experienced keepers to choose from, even after the call offs two years ago. Sarrburgh's Scott Torrance is most likely to start, with the 28-year-old having played all four matches at the Regionals. Torrance, who started his career at FC Soessch, has formerly been capped by Schottia at U21 level, but had lived in Port Christopher for seven years prior to his call up. Carus Laxium is currently the territory's most capped player on 64 appearances, although he is unlikely to add to that much on the road to Quebec and SJG. The Patria Pople star is a valuable part of this small squad however, and will be on hand if needed. Backup cover is Saints man, Donald Gordon, who has four caps to his name.

RB/M: Anderiz, 28 New Saint Johns Image Height: 169cm Weight: 67kg
LB: Liam Goncalves, 22 Dundee Image Height: 180cm Weight: 68kg

CB: Michael Campbell 24, New Saint Johns Image Height: 186cm Weight: 78kg

LB: Sanchia Diaz 19, Hillstreet Image Height: 175cm Weight: 65kg
CB: Luis Felipe, 29 Blue Coast 1981 Image Height: 184cm Weight: 80kg

For a team who have built their reputation around being hard to break down, the back four is an integral part. Saint's rightback, Aderiz, has stuck by this team through think and thin, crossing the 30-cap mark in the Campionato Esportiva. He and Dundee leftback, Liam Gonclaves, are both powerful players going forward down the flanks; and given that Port Christopher play narrow in the midfield, they provide important width. In the middle, Lara Dixon keeps her place following her move to Kelsy. The former Pirates centreback had a very public falling out with the club's owner, as tensions between the different factions worsened over the last two years. Alongside her, yet another Saints player, Michael Campbell steps in. The 24-year-old recently jumped ship from Schottia, after a plea from Jim Reid, who was desperately trying to bolster his playing squad. New Dundee's Elliot Thompson, Blue Coast's Luis Felipe, and Hillstreet's Sanchia Diaz are the best they can do however in terms of reserves, with "Bad Boy" of Christopherna football, Tomas Nazario-Silva, still ruling himself out from a comeback.

For a team that barely even have twenty-three players available, the midfield doesn't actually look too bad at all. There are obviously a few strings loose here and there, but on the whole, they could almost pass as the top-40 side they have somehow become. Port Christopher line up with two holding midfielders, Maeve Bronte, and the evergreen James Del Vertio. Bustling Pirates midfielder, Bronte, is full of energy, chasing down every lost cause, and putting a hundred percent into every fifty-fifty ball. Del Vertio on the other hand, is a 49-year-old centreback turned midfielder, who came out of international retirement two years ago to help the side out. It really shouldn't work, but somehow it does; and while his pace is long gone, he seems to keep pulling out top performances. Just ahead of them is team captain, Diego Bandos, who was part of the Lexington Victory side that reached the last sixteen of the Champions Cup. Strong and combative, but with a subtler touch while in possession, the 34-year-old former Pirates player is still a force to be reckoned with. The attacking outlets in this side are Rachel Del Arro and Tim Maitfield, who operate either side, just behind the loan striker. The latter, Maitfield, is quite possibly on the form of his life with Cenian club Polaris, who he captained to the quarterfinal of the Champions Cup. At 31, he still has the pace and drive, along with a wicket right boot. Del Arrow really emerged as one of the stars of the last campaign, much to everyone's surprise, as the Samaj FC player wound up their top-scorer. Jim Reid has options on the bench too, most notably La Gorlions' Aredhel Neil. San Marco Storm midfielder Gary Irwin also brings some more experience to the side, and young up and coming players Caro Bensborg, Stella Watson, and Tom Sanchez will all need to be ready to step up to the plate.

CF: Tony Uist, 30 Marque Image Height: 179cm Weight: 76kg
CF: Jacques 26, Dundee Image Height: 178cm Weight: 68kg
CF: Ross Jameson 31, New Dundee Star Image Height: 178cm Weight: 75kg

Arguably, Port Christopher's tactic of patiently sitting deep only works because they have a player at the sharp end who can tuck away half chances. Tony Uist might not have the best footballing ability, but he scores goals and that's what counts. The Marque striker has thirty goals for his country and he will certainly be looking to add to that tally. Waiting in the wings are Jacques and Ross Jameson, both of whom are regular scorers for the respective clubs. Jacques has been an important factor in the revival at Dundee in Schottia, reaching double figures worth of goals last season. Meanwhile, Ross Jameson is an experienced head with plenty of Super-League games under his belt with both Kirston Eagles and New Dundee Star.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Abel Brücke and Angelo Farías on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Jonathan Bosetti and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

This stadium underwent a major upgrade in preparation for the 61st Cup of Harmony, its capacity was increased from 85,000 to 95,021 with the construction of a second tier on both ends, its roof was also renewed with a lighter material, and its press booths and VIP boxes were also enlarged. Cosumar National Team
World Cup 77

Image

Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Government: Cosumar is a Fiefdom, meaning Cosumar is divided into 21 historical "fiefs". These essentially now function as provinces. Cosumar's government is a constitutional monarchy dedicated to complete civil rights for all sentient beings, advancement of science, conservation of nature and space exploration. Cosumar is known for being the "Most Developed" nation in Atlantian Oceania according to WA Census, and in the Top 1% of the world's developed nations. Current leader King James II has continued our tradition of promoting progress while simultaneously maintaining our unique culture and diverse natural features.

Region: Atlantian Oceania (far Northeast/COCANEFA)

Nicknames: Vanquishers (since WC 72) or, more formally, Azure Dragons

Colors: Navy, Royal Blue, Silver, White

Stadium: Leviathan Arena (capacity 99,114)

Location: Kaldukosic, Kaldukosic Fief, Cosumar
Image
The largest and one of the most iconic venues in Cosumar, Leviathan Arena has served as the home of the National Team since it was constructed for WC 55. Local Sekundar Ligan club FC Kaldukosic is its regular tenant. Leviathan has the steepest and tallest stands of any stadium in Cosumar. Sitting up high is not for the weak of heart - visitors occasionally faint from the sheer steepness of their view. With fans towering above the pitch, Leviathan has subsequently become infamous for its colossal - even suffocating - atmosphere. Also of note is its Museum of Cosumarite Sport, one of the largest in-stadium museums in the world.

Kaldukosic itself is the most populous city in Cosumar (16 million metro) and is one of the most important hubs in Atlantian Oceania, situated on the east coast of mainland Cosumarus, south across the bay from the capital Ramusok. The two cities' metro areas overlap to form one large megalopolis. Whereas Ramusok is known more for its artistic, historical and governmental importance, Kaldukosic is a the mecca of Cosumarite business, home to booming technology, finance and medical industries. It has an older, more profession-oriented population than Ramusok and a higher average income. Not as much youthful energy in the nightlife or music/art scenes, but plenty of swanky luxurious clubs and hangouts. Your teams should enjoy their visit.

Snapshot Historical Context: Cosumar made its international debut in World Cup 51. In World Cup 73, new manager Gethin Ramsey built on the momentum from winning the preceding Cup of Harmony to qualify Cosumar to the World Cup Finals for the first time since World Cup 62, ending a miserable 20-year drought. Since, the Dragons have advanced to four consecutive World Cup knockout rounds and three Quarterfinals. With the program now reestablished amongst the best, expectations are higher than they have been in a long time. A first ever trip to the semifinals is the goal.

Expanded History: Cosumar qualified for six consecutive World Cups (54-59) in its "golden age" of soccer, going out twice in the group stage and then four times in the Round of 16. After World Cup 59, Cosumar reached its peak ranking of #7 in the world. The National Team began a gradual decline in World Cups 60 & 61, in which they were eliminated in the Qualification Playoffs despite strong campaigns. They would qualify once again for World Cup 62 in Astograth, but the downward trajectory had already set in. World Cups 64-66 were particularly bleak and saw our once-elite ranking dip as low as the 80s. Many demanded the sacking of Farris Crowley, manager since WC54... the glory days of his tenure a distant memory. But the Fiefdom Soccer Federation (FSF) stuck with him, and Cosumar began re-emerging as a force to be reckoned with around World Cup 68. A marvelous crop of young talent (think Francois Renault, Alexander Pearce, etc.) now lovingly referred to as the "Renaissance Generation" started to restore the former honor to the Dragonshirt. They led several increasingly competitive Qualifying and Cup of Harmony campaigns...though they never did manage to return to the biggest stage. They came oh-so-close, but the Football Gods were never on their side. Their generation's swansong ended up being a 3rd place medal at Cup of Harmony 62. But then the next cycle World Cup 72, threatened to erase all the momentum. It was a colossal disaster. The worst since our WC51 debut. Eight draws against lower-ranked sides. Farris Crowley was finally sacked after 40 years. Nephara legend Gethin Ramsey arrived and salvaged Cosumar's ranking by winning the subsequent Cup of Harmony. Ramsey continued to work wonders afterwards, leading his "Vanquishers" to four consecutive World Cup Finals (73-76), including our best-ever finish (Quarterfinals) three times. With Cosumar now ranked in the world's top 15 and drawing from a deeper pool of talent than any in our history, sights will be set on the semifinals for World Cup 77. A very disappointing AOCAF has dampened expectations somewhat, however.

Records:
All-time Record: 321-122-164

First International Match: Cosumar 0-0 Krytenia (World Cup 51 Qualifiers MD1)
First win: Cosumar 4-3 The Ursine Northlands (World Cup 51 Qualifiers MD3)
First World Cup match: Akbarabad 3-0 Cosumar (World Cup 54, MD1)
First World Cup win: Cosumar 2-1 Al Mumtaz (World Cup 55, MD2)

Largest win: Hladio Huggers 0-7 Cosumar (World Cup 57 Qualifiers, MD12)
Largest defeat: Cosumar 0-9 Valanora (World Cup 55 Qualifiers, MD11)

Most glorious moments:
Cosumar 1-0 Cotdelapoms - Cup of Harmony 45 Third Place Playoff - Late Rikki Varshney winner for our first medal.
Cosumar 4-0 Haginonia - World Cup 54 Interzonal Stage - Showdown on the final day of Qualifying with both sides' first World Cup berth at stake: we rolled.
Cosumar 1-0 Sarzonia - World Cup 57 MD3 - Cosumar advances to its first Round of 16 at Sarzonia's expense.
Cosumar 7-3 Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 60 Qualification Playoff - Brutal revenge against K&P for ousting us on penalties in the previous World Cup's Round of 16.
Cosumar 5-1 The Sarian - Cup of Harmony 64 Finals - Ramsey and the newly-christened "Vanquishers" propel Cosumar to lift a first WCC trophy.
Valanora 2–2 Cosumar (3–3 AET) (7–8 pen.) - World Cup 73 Round of 16 - After splitting the series in group play, we triumphed over the Elves to claim our first ever Quarterfinals.

Most heartbreaking moments:
Cosumar 1-1 (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs) Churchma - Cup of Harmony 45 Semifinals - Losing on penalties always hurts, especially when it's to your oldest rival so deep in a tourney.
Cosumar 0-3 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 55 MD3 - It came down to this match for a spot in the Ro16, and we got our asses kicked.
Cosumar 2-4 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 56 Round of 16 - We finally made it to the knockout rounds for the first time, just to be humbled by these guys again.
Cosumar 1-4 Jeru FC - World Cup 57 Round of 16 - Another drubbing in the Ro16.
Cosumar 0-4 The Babbage Islands - World Cup 58 Round of 16 - New Cup, same story. Dragons fall apart in the knockouts.
Cosumar 3-3 (3-3 AET, 2-4 PKs) Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 59 Round of 16 - This is THE match that haunts the dreams of every Cosumarite to this day. We had rolled through our Qualification and World Cup groups in dominant fashion - completely undefeated. It was the greatest Cosumarite team ever assembled, seeming destined for new heights. In the Ro16, the Dragons led the Urchins 3-0 late and celebrations had already begun. But Chalia Sajid scored a flurry of goals for an unlikely hat trick in final 15 minutes to force extra time. In the eventual shootout, we would completely choke, badly missing the target twice. Complete and utter shock. Many wandered if Cosumar would EVER be able to advance to the quarterfinals and exorcise these demons. It took nearly 30 years.
Cosumar 0-0 (0-2 AET) Unified Sunrise Islands - World Cup 75 Quarterfinals - On the brink of our first ever semifinals appearance, we are sunk by a Kevin Stabb brace in extra time to lose our chance to play for a WC medal. This "cinematic" USI team, which came out of nowhere, would go on to win the whole thing, leaving Cosumarites wondering what could've been.

Most Goals: 104 - Sur Arora (WC 63-72)
Most Assists: 77 - Irvinn Rincon (WC 51-56)
Most Caps: 203 - Anders Engström (WC 67-76)

Note on Vloo: The roster consists of 25 players, 24 of whom are standard humans. The remaining player (defender Bacary Na'Kale) is of the Vloo people (species homo cosumarensis), a humanoid race native to Cosumar. Vloo are, on average, two inches taller than humans (which admittedly can come in handy on set pieces), and they must use different footwear due to their foot structure. Vloo have blue-tinted skin, two small black horns protruding from their foreheads. And tails. They are distinguished by their surnames, with typically begin with prefixes such as Na' or Va'. There has always been at least one Vloo player in the squad, but never more than four.

Style Modifier:

Post-WC76 Ranking: #9 (KPB 37.60)

Formation: 4-4-2
A basic flat 4-4-2. This formation takes advantage of one of the biggest strengths of the Cosumarite player pool: our wide midfielders. This could leave us exploitable in center of the pitch, but it is thought that the work rate and defensive savvy of Stig Soderquist will cover us there and allow the more creative Jo de Marisco to get forward. A new strike partnership will need to gel - Ragnar Targaryen now the more traditional in-the-box center forward alongside Tevin Lilley, who will look to stress backlines by running all around with his pace and looking to get in behind. The 4-4-2 can easily morph into a 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 to suit specific situations, with Alora Heher often subbing in to take the reigns as an attacking spark behind the striker(s). As per the Gethin Ramsey trademark, this squad features an emphasis on pressing high and forcing opposing midfields to make mistakes, then punishing with up-tempo precise passing. Cosumar features players in some of the top leagues around the world in addition to prime talent from our own Harlighet Ligan, home UICA champions Real Azuris.

Cosumar's current kits were prepared for the team by Meski Soccer & Sports Store of Red Blackiland before the World Cup 75 cycle, our 50th anniversary in international competition. The design has been applauded by for improving upon the already-brilliant kits that served us from WC 71-74, while still staying true to the spirit of the beloved WC 54-69 classic kits. The home and away kits make heavy use of the national colours (blue, white, silver) and the majestic Cosumarite Azure Dragon that these lands are famous for. The goalkeeper kit features hints of the royal family's colors: Green and Gold.

First-Choice Starting XI

Goalkeeper - Jakk Winterfyll - 32 - Image Kingsgrove Image
Winterfyll is a rock-solid keeper, likely the finest Cosumar has ever produced. He already has six World Cups under his belt and has started every match for Cosumar since World Cup 71. He dominated domestically with Crawford City FC early in his career, setting a record for clean sheets in a season. He then became a mainstay in Apox with Exton FC, blossoming into one of the world's elite goalkeepers. When the ANL collapsed, he took his talents to the A-League and won New Player of the Year in his debut season in Brenecia. He is known for his seemingly psychic anticipation and springy reflexes. Off the pitch, Winterfyll plays several Cosumarite folk instruments like the vevlira and the flojagu and is a regular contributor to the annual "Sounds of Ancient Cosumar" compilation CD. Full bio.

Left Back - Bacary Na'Kale - 23 - Image Mâ Âlâmëómë Image
After cracking the Cassandra City first team at (barely) 18 and outshining more established players as a teenager, Na'Kale became the subject of a sudden rainfall of foreign bids. Cassandra City could not resist, Mâ Âlâmëómë won Na'Kale's services, and the Vloo further surprised by locking down the first-choice left back spot in Farfadillis almost immediately. At 19. Na'Kale has played almost every minute of the last four years now for the powerhouse club and helped them to a resurgent title two seasons ago. His rise to club stardom has been mirrored in the National Team. Just like in Farfadillis, he held down the fort on the left for Cosumar's entire WC75 and WC76 runs to the Quarterfinals. The young Vloo has aced every test thrown at him with flying colors. It's easy to forget how young he still is. The Vanquishers appear to be set at left back for the next decade or so. Na'Kale's pace is his most noticeable attribute, but it is his intrinsic understanding of the position that, when combined with his athleticism, makes him so special. He has also vastly improved his dribbling and crossing since moving to Farfadillis. Where once was a weakness, Bacary is now better than 90% of fullbacks. His attacking prowess is reflected in his high assist statistics in recent tournaments.

Center Back - Deirdre McNessa - 28 - Image Starling Image
McNessa came out of nowhere to make the WC 75 squad after Starling came out of nowhere to win the Nepharim Premiership. In the three years since, Starling and McNessa have proven to be no fluke, both player and club boldly cementing themselves at the top of the world game. As a top performer for the recent Multiverse champions, McNessa must surely go down as one of the best bargains in Nepharim history after Starling scooped her up as a free transfer. She actually had a promising early career in Cosumar, representing with our U23 and U21 sides while playing club ball for Pardock Island at their peak. But a slew of injuries sidetracked her development and Pardock Island ended up cutting their losses and letting her go when she just couldn't stay on the pitch. At a crossroads, she signed for some newly-promoted team in Nephara, hoping to catch on there... and you know the rest. Nepharim trainers worked wonders. She hasn't been hurt since and has maximized her early potential against all odds. In WC 75, she became the first female defender to earn a Cosumarite cap. In WC 76, she then became the first female defender to start a World Cup Finals match for Cosumar. Marvelous story. She is tall, slender, a good passer out of the back and fearless in the air despite her previous injuries.

Center Back - Peter Svensson - 27 - CAPTAIN - Image AFC Treason Image
Ramsey brought Svensson along slowly during the World Cup 72 and 73 cycles, and by World Cup 74 he was ready to take over as the heart and soul of the Cosumarite defense. The entire team looks to Svensson as a leader now. Svensson will, however, cede it to Anders Engström out of respect if the legendary Captain Andy subs in. A titan for FC Jansberg throughout the entirety of its LigAnaia tenure and now for AFC Treason (winning Debutant of the Year in Nephara as Treason marched to the CC semifinals), Svensson is the complete center back. He's impressive physically (hella strong folks), a master of interceptions, comfortable dribbling and passing and, most of all, an infamous aerial threat on set-pieces. It feels like Svensson has been around forever, but people forget that he was only 19 when he started winning titles for Jansberg. He was homegrown standout for the Na'Malsille Mariners before that. He has so much experience but he's really just entering the prime of his career. He is the nephew of Herrgly Svensson, a famous Cosumarite daredevil known for skydiving out of a space station, and little brother of Erak Svensson, a Congressman.

Right Back - Mortimer Chisenhall - 25 - Image Real Azuris Image
A prized product of the AC Holmenkollen academy, Chisenhall spent several years there as a young phenom before finally completing his long-awaited move to a big club (the Cosumarite champions) at age 22. He had an up-and-down start to life in Azuris, but founded his footing - and more - in his second and third seasons there. The last few years have seen Chisenhall emerge as the best defensive right back in all the Harlighet Ligan. He was part of an Azurian back line that dominated the league en route to an double-digit points gap two years ago, and was instrumental in Real's astonishing Champions Cup victory last year. Chisenhall's attacking capabilities are somewhat limited, but he is just a fantastic defender. Off the pitch, he's a quiet lad and almost always has his nose in a book.

Left Midfielder - Mauricio Sigler - 29 - Image Holdenberg Image
Sigler has more than lived up to the hype since being labeled teen prodigy almost fifteen years ago. He crossed the line from "exciting young talent" to true stardom when he won the Golden Ball at Cup of Harmony 64. He is the most technical player in the squad, but he can also beat defenders with sheer pace. He plays with a certain showmanship and swagger in every movement that is incredibly entertaining to watch. In the Harlighet Ligan, he single-handedly propelled the newly-promoted Zakhoro Aces all the way to the top half as a teenager before being purchased by a club ranked in the UICA top ten: Taeshani titans Real Atlantea. After four seasons and four Champions' Cup appearances developing into a superstar in Taeshan, Sigler took another step up by joining Holdenburg. In doing so, he became the first Cosumarite to play in the renowned Euran league. He was a finalist for Newcomer of the Year in his debut Euran season. Sigler famously scored the game-winning penalty against Valanora in the World Cup 73 knockout stage, cementing his status as a Cosumarite legend forevermore. He's criticized for sometimes disappearing during the less important "filler" matches of tournaments, but Sigler always seems to rise to the occasion for the biggest stages.

Center Midfielder - Stig Söderquist - 23 - Image Real Azuris Image
Stig is a sharp box-to-box midfielder. His best role is to hold, to feed and cover for a more creative partner like De Marisco. He doesn't do anything flashy to pop off the screen, but he does all the little things that help a team succeed and always finishes with an extremely high pass completion rate and ratio of successful tackles in midfield. He's a native of Azuris who joined their academy system at age 11 and gradually worked his way up to a starting position for the senior team at 21. With Söderquist efficient beyond his years as the beating pulse behind the curtain in midfield, Real Azuris swept the rest of the Harlighet Ligan aside for a second domestic Double in three years and then stormed their way to a Champions Cup. There's no overlooking him now. Söderquist is a quietly superb player that any coach would love to have in their side. His selection to the World Cup 76 squad was the biggest surprise of the lot, having not even been on the radar the year before, but he seized the opportunity and made himself indispensable. Now, for the first time, he goes into a tournament as the penciled-in starter.

Center Midfielder - Jo de Marisco - 31 - Image Eastweald Image
With one cap for Apox, the Barbury native obtained Cosumarite dual-citizenship before World Cup 75 after living here for six years while playing for Eastweald. With Apox on hiatus from the WCC, de Marisco made the one-time switch to represent Cosumar. Her performance in the Dragonshirt has never quite matched her club form, and she was criticized throughout the World Cup 76 cycle for lack of production, but Gethin Ramsey believes in her and she will retain her starting job. She did score the 4-3 winner that sent us through to the Ro16, after all. Remember that beautifully curled goal? It might be a different story if there was more young talent emerging at her position though... But many will argue that De Marisco deserves another cycle by virtue of all she has done for Eastweald and the Harlighet Ligan. She has been one of the brightest creative forces in Cosumar for several years, a constant finalist for MVP - winning it once. De Marisco is short and petite, but might just have the most nimble feet in the team, frequently showing off backheels and other flourishes during games. First choice to take free kicks.

RM - Kit Kvanderwyk - 27 - Image Cornellians Image
Fan-favorite Kvanderwyk had a great World Cup 76 and seems to be back in the NT picture to stay. His move to Cornellians has really paid dividends. He, along with sister Kathryn Kvanderwyk and Cosumar legend Alexander Pearce, led the Schottic champs to the Champions' Cup group stage and now yet another domestic title. Kit was originally a prized product of the FC Kaldukosic academy who managed to crack their first team by age 17. At 21, he moved to Cassandra City and helped the Reds win the Harlighet Ligan, placing in the top five for Player of the Year. That success earned him a super-sub role for the national team throughout the WC 73 cycle, during which he scored three goals. But declining club performances after that saw him slide out of favor until being rejuvenated at Cornellians. Much like his predecessor Ole Öhman (now retired from international soccer), Kvanderwyk is skilled, creative and intelligent... but lacking great pace. He won't blow by any opponents - he instead uses his technicality and cleverness to create space before delivering balls in with pinpoint accuracy. Off the pitch, Kvanderwyk is a massive fan of the Cosumarite heavy metal scene even hosts his own annual music festival: the KvanderFest.

Striker - Tevin Lilley - 30 - Rozelle Image
Lilley was Cosumar's top striker at the U23 and U21 levels, then (grudgingly at first) settled into a super-sub role for the Vanquishers. But after many years in the shadows of Anders Engström and Ace Newman, Lilley finally FINALLY got his chance to prove himself as a starter in World Cup 76. And boy, did he ever. He scored 18 goals in the cycle, a full third of the team's total. After scoring 97 goals for A-League stalwarts Rozelle in the last five seasons, including four Golden Boots, it shouldn't have been a surprise. The man can score with the best of them. He's at that peak of his career right now where his much-improved mental maturity and technique (once his glaring weaknesses) are perfectly aligned with the physical gifts for which he is known. Who knows how much longer that precious window will remain open until his famous pace starts to decline? So enjoy prime Lilley while it's on display for this World Cup. Still the paciest player on the team - will constantly look to stretch defenses.

Striker - Ragnar Targaryen - 23 - Image CA Paulinthal Image
Ragnar signed with CA Paulinthal at 17 as a top prospect of Rocinante Prep School, Cosumar's most prestigious youth residency academy. This year, he finally broke through as a starter at CAP after six years of simmering development. And what a whirlwind year it was! Solidifying himself as part of a lethal attacking trio alongside Valladares international Abel Brücke and Euran star Mattiu Searlait, Ragnar helped propel CAP to the Copa de Campeones Final... and the brink of the SuperLiga title with a league-high goals total. His sudden stardom in Pasarga makes him a must-play for Gethin Ramsey. Targaryen is uncapped and hasn't played international soccer at any level since DBC 37 almost four years ago, but Cosumar fans are salivating to see what he can do thrusted into the spotlight for World Cup 77. At Paulinthal, Ragnar has showcased a sublime first touch and capability to shoot or pass with either foot. He doesn't have Lilley's pace, but he's a hard runner. And though he's only average height for a forward, he's strong in the air and has natural heading ability. Ragnar has also earned something of a reputation for scoring from unusual angles... He can still improve at dribbling at players and at holding the ball up (something he'll be asked to do partnering with Lilley). Off the pitch, Ragnar is heavily into sci-fi and fantasy fandom - a geek at heart. He's also a big fan of his hometown club: Mallox. Anders Engström was Ragnar's hero growing up, and he is humbled to even share a training pitch with him during Captain Andy's likely last World Cup campaign.

The Rest of the Squad

GK - Esteban Hernandez - 29 - Image Eastweald Image
Hernandez's frame is one that no strikers wants to see in goal: 6"7, broad shoulders, long arms, enormous hands. Most people that size don't have the coordination to walk and chew gum at the same time, let alone take on Audioslavian strikers. But Hernandez is one of those freakish exceptions. If only Jakk Winterfyll wasn't so darn consistent ahead of him. Though his time will probably come, for now, Hernandez is a stellar back-up. After winning U21 Player of the Year in the Harlighet Ligan in 1001, and nearly taking MVP too, he secured a move to Mierton Manatees, one of the better teams from the Taeshani Premier League. After five seasons there, he returned to Cosumar three years ago and propelled Eastweald to consecutive Champions' Cups. Fun tidbit: he nearly gave up on his professional soccer career at age 18 to go to culinary school instead.

LB - Senter Senterekoesima - 29 - Rozelle United Image
Long-strided wingback who was a standout in Cosumar's collegiate league, where his technical ability and physical fitness were miles beyond the competition. After graduating with a degree in Astrophysics from Stoneshore College, he made the jump straight to Brenecia with Saint Alexander of the A-League. Though the club was relegated in his first season, he did well enough to be picked up by Rozelle United, a club that loves its Cosumarites. Back with the Vanquishers for the first time since WC 74 last year, he is coming off a career-best season in which he captained Rozelle United to a title challenge and UICA berth. Affectionately dubbed "Senter-squared", the man with the highest IQ on the team will be a great rotational option for Ramsey to have.

CB - Taddeo Loredan - 27 - Creed United Image
One of the best defenders in the Harlighet Ligan of the last five years, Taddeo was unwaveringly loyal to boyhood club AC Holmenkollen through that time, turning down the deep pockets of Real Azuris and Cassandra City in recent windows. After guiding the Cedars to yet another stunning underdog UICA berth last year, he finally felt like it might be time to make his name on a bigger stage. Creed United came calling and Loredan settled in nicely in the Nepharim Premiership. He was overdue for a first call-up for a long time, but that move helped catch the eye of Nepharim manager Gethin Ramsey. Level-headed and excellent positionally, Loredan usually has one of the lowest card totals amongst defenders. A strong, quiet leader.

CB - Torbjörn Jorgensen - 24 - Image SC Rinaldi Image
Tremendous young defender with big-time championship-winning experience in Cosumar and LigAnaia. He doesn't offer anything fancy, but he's a beast of a physical presence yet also plays very smart. He wears his heart on his sleeve in every match, defending the goal from every cross, every dribble, every shot like it's his only reason to live. That mentality helped his new Vanorian club survive this season despite being pinned as strong relegation candidates. His efforts saw him named to the Vanorian league's Best XI. Jorgensen was developed by the Real Azuris academy and broke into their regular starting XI at age 18, shoring up their defense and kickstarting a title campaign. He was subsequently named Defender of the Year. At 18. His newfound stardom didn't go unnoticed and FC Jansberg subsequently added him to their collection of Cosumarite defenders alongside countrymen Soarhaven and Svensson. When he played in Cosumar, fans of rival teams cruelly called him "pizza-face" because of his bad acne, which he still bears.

RB - Tug Cooper - 21 - Image Ramusok United Image
The Ramusok United product is the latest player trying to make a smooth transition from Cosumar U21 to the senior team. A strong DBC followed by the best club season of his young career (Harlighet Ligan Best XI) saw him claim a place in Ramsey's side, squeezing out trusted veteran Sheldon Serra for the first time in about a decade. His real name is Thon Cooper, but he was given the moniker Tug by his coaches at United because of his incredible stamina (in Cosumar, long-distance racing horses are known colloquially as "tugs"). In addition to his renowned ability to run and run and never tire, Tug is a tenacious and tactically intelligent fullback versatile enough to help the team offensively and defensively. Goes forward more frequently and does so more effectively than starter Chisenhall, but isn't as dominant a defender. Still has the occasional lapses there, though they were minimized last season at United. Small and stocky with a barrel-like chest, shaggy greyish-brown hair and a smirking grin. Often cited as one of the funniest players on the team, with a clever, sarcastic persona in interviews.

DM - Olaf Womack - 32 - Image Parrhesia United Image
Bulldog of a defensive midfielder who has played for clubs such as Versiaville (Cosumar), Rannin FC (Estenia), Twentytwo Cacti (95X) and now Parrhesia United. Though 32, Womack just enjoyed the finest season of his career. His roughshod defensive efforts helped Parrhesia push up the Nepharim table and he make the bench of the Premiership Best XI. But wherever he goes, Womack never changes. Relentless pest of a physical enforcer. Short but very muscular and bulky, immovable. And quite ugly as well, which helps his aesthetic (#punchablefaces). Not very skilled, but deceptively intelligent and brutishly strong. Gets away with a lot and really grates on opponents' nerves, often coaxing them into yellow or red cards. Probably won't see much action unless Ramsey feels the need for his very specific attributes (patrolling in front of the back four and wreaking havoc). But a worthy inclusion because there's not another player quite like him in our talent pool, so he lends some versatility and flexibility in the midfield depth.

LM - Matt Branch - 27 - Image Kingsgrove Image
The breakout star of Cosumar's DBC 35 championship is now firmly in his prime at Kingsgrove. Despite being left out of the World Cup 76 team, Branch impressed Gethin Ramsey in the recent friendlies camp and will make his return in WC 77. He is a quick, technical winger who can consistently create space 1v1 against defenders and has quite a good shot from distance. He's also a natural leader and chemistry booster. Just about all of Branch's teammates come to think of him as a true friend. He came up with Sporting Matrolvik in Semarland as an unheralded prospect who worked his way into a squad player role. Despite not getting regular starts with Matrolvik, he earned a starting spot with our U21s and was magnificent in DBC 35, notching multiple goals and assists as Cosumar won the tournament for the first time. After Branch's DBC heroics, Semar giants FC Jansberg came calling with LigAnaia prestige and promises of regular playing time. Sure enough, he grew by leaps and bounds in Jansberg. His first couple seasons were up-and-down, but Branch was fantastic as Jansberg won the title in his third season. He was able to sustain his consistent performances over the ensuing two seasons, catching eyes in Brenecia before sealing a move last year.

CM - Tiffany Elam - 26 - Image Ibini FC Image
Tiffany's best attribute is her incredible work rate. She is a true hustler in midfield, usually covering more ground box-to-box per match than anyone else. She's fast, a pretty good passer, and can surge forward or make a late run into the box, but really she relishes the unglamorous work the most. Elam staked her claim in Ramsey's plans after a great sophomore season in the Vanorian top-flight, helping Ibini claim 2nd place after taking over a starting place in their midfield. She likewise got her first chance as Cosumar's starter in World Cup 76 and the preceding AOCAF. She lost her starting place in the pecking order to Stig Söderquist in the camps leading up to this WC, but she will still be an important part of the team. At age 18, Elam turned down the #1 medical school in Cosumar to pursue her soccer career, moving to Kernansquillec to join Project X. She was one of the program's first standouts, immediately being offered a contract upon graduation to join local giants Guingamp. In three seasons there, she became one of Kernansquillec's best players before moving on to Ibini. Elam was the captain of Cosumar's U21 side in two successful DBCs and transitioned seamlessly to the senior squad afterwards.

CM - Aziz Senturk - 31 - Image Maximum Rovers Image
Senturk's career evolution was an interesting one. Early on he was incredibly frustrating to watch - one of those guys who would show flashes of brilliance every now and then but could never find it consistently. But through trial-by-fire in Nephara, Senturk eventually emerged from the flames as a real class footballer. It took a tough learning experience at South Laithland to get there, but he has since become a prominent figure for Maximum Rovers and has been one of their top players for seven years. He always had all the right ingredients to be a force... pace, technical ability, creative mind, shooting. The difference since since turning 26 or so is that they now come together on a near-weekly basis. Ramsey rewarded his success at Maximum Rovers with a starting role throughout World Cup 74 and 75, though took a back seat to De Marisco last time around. Senturk is still a sly, crafty figure in midfield. Never afraid to take on anyone, try out an unorthodox bit of skill or launch a long rage shot - his specialty. First choice to take long-range free kicks if on the pitch. Can also be deployed as an outright attacking midfielder, where he played a bit for Rovers last season.

RM - Corey Simmons III - 24 - Image OAS Royal FC Image
Ah, it's good to see the famous Simmons clan in the team again. Corey III will earn his first caps in Qualifying, joining his father and grandfather in the annals of Vanquishers history. Whereas both Corey Simmons Sr. and Jr. were prolific strikers (combining for 60 goals in 125 caps in ten World Cups), CS3 is more of a tricky right-footed winger. Competition for this second spot behind Kit Kvanderwyk was fierce in the pre-WC camps, but Simmons III managed to narrowly beat out players like Ezekiel Tarkanian, who played in the AOCAF, Frazan Va'Goshal and Lyyli Silvén despite a disappointing season in which boyhood club FC Kaldukosic suffered the most shocking relegation in Harlighet Ligan history. The relegation perhaps underscored Simmons III's value though. FC Kal struggled mightily during his extended absence with injury. He's healthy now, however, and motivated to impress new team OAS Royal FC. The King's club just inked him to a long-term contract earlier this week with Simmons III unwilling to play for Kaldukosic in Sekundar Ligan or under a new manager after his father was sacked. Simmons III is an illustrious and confident dribbler, truly scary with the ball at his feet, but sometimes bites off more than he can chew and takes too many touches simply for the sake of showing off. Gethin Ramsey will have to beat that out of him so he can be more efficient. But Simmons III's skill is undoubted, and with his natural pace and athleticism... his ceiling is very high. There's a sense that he has barely tapped his fullest potential. This World Cup will be a big learning experience for him. He's a bad shooter, frankly, but a precise crosser/passer.

AM - Alora Heher - 24 - Rozelle Image
Heher (pronounced: hay-er) has burst onto the scene in a big way over the last three years. MVP honors in college led to a breakout 17-goal season at Chromatik club Alnio, which led to an upward move to Myana Islanders and her first three Cosumar caps via the AOCAF. They weren't any ordinary first caps either, as Heher won WOTM with a goal and two assists in her debut off the bench and electrified again with another goal in her third. She had some more impactful appearances in World Cup 76. Fans have been clamoring to see more of her after she missed the last club season due to Chromatik politics. Rozelle, and this AOCAF, will be an opportunity for her to make more waves on a bigger stage and secure her place in the team long-term. Heher is extremely quick and energetic, wearing out defenders over the course of the game. Most impressive though is her killer instinct in the final third. Excels threading that perfect ball through the defense. Needs to keep improving her touch in tight quarters.

ST - Romikk Valgard - 22 - Image West Gundar FC Image
Valgard is already being hailed as the future of Cosumar in some corners after scoring 16 goals last season, the most among all Cosumarites in the Harlighet Ligan. He still has a lot of room to improve, but Ramsey clearly sees something that justifies the hype. Sure, Valgard is still a little one-footed, over-reliant on his speed, toothless in the air and easily-fatigued. All valid criticisms. But you can see each weakness and just his general technical ability improving with each and every match he plays. You can see it. Nine goals at 19. Eleven at 20. Sixteen at 21. The kid is on an exponential development curve. He first touch has suddenly become quite good over the last two years as well and, of course, his right-footed shot and quickness have always been fucking first-rate. If he can get stronger in the air, his height could be quite useful too. Under the tutelage of Ramsey and Engström, expect those remaining weaknesses to erode even further in the run-up to World Cup 77. By the time the tournament proper arrives, Valgard could be ready to be a major contributor. It's also a chance to put himself in the shop window. He's made no secret of his desire to play for a bigger club next season. Also of note is that Valgard is set to become the first player born on extraterrestrial colony Kalloroda to play for the National Team.

ST - Linden Lucassen - 31 - Image Sabrefell Athletic Image
Linden's career has been a steady upward trajectory. From the Sekundar Ligan to SariLeague to LigAnaia Nord to Nephara. He was successful at each level, but never quite prolifically enough to break into the NT. He drew headlines while at Kurtz Herritik (Mertagne) when he publicly questioned what he had to do to catch Gethin Ramsey's eye. As it turns out, the answer was to score 17 goals in a Champions' Cup campaign for Sabrefell Athletic. That's what Lucassen did before WC 76, which got him in the group. With some substitute World Cup appearances now under his belt, Lucassen will now set his sights on his next goal: to score his first goal for Cosumar. Linden is the younger brother of former national team midfielder Darwyn Lucassen, who amassed 58 caps in the WC 72-74 cycles. Whereas Darwyn inherited the skill of great passing, Linden inherited the skill of great shooting. He sometimes leaves something to be desired in the finer points of the game (movement, understanding with teammates), but if you can just get the ball to his feet in the box, he'll do the rest.

ST - Anders Engström - 34 - PLAYER COACH - Image Eletti Valligiani Image
The Cosumarite superstar of the last decade is finally starting to slow down. Make no mistake, he's still a potentially game-changing player. He was highly involved with the WC76 campaign as the first sub off the bench, but he just can't go the full 90 every game anymore. He's actually here to mentor new strikers Targaryen and Valgard more than anything. When/if he does play, Engström's technical skill and attacking instincts are world-class - he can still do amazing things with the ball that few others can. His ability will be vital in setting up goal-scoring chances for others when he's not clinically burying shots himself. Though small in stature (5"8), he can still fill space with bursting acceleration. Engström (AKA Captain Andy) was a domestic superstar for Mallox for the first chapter of his career before finally walking away to join Crisisbless, where he regularly scored big goals (including the winner in the Cygnus Cup Final) and was a key playmaking force in some fantastic Premiership teams. A year ago, he completed a final big move to Eletti Valligiani, an ambitious new player in the new Audioslavian league. With his experience and timely goals, Engström helped lead Eletti to their first Globe Cup berth this season. In his prime, Engström was named one of the Top 20 players in the world by various foreign media outlets. First choice to take penalties when on the pitch. Full Bio.

Manager: Gethin Ramsey Image
As RPed here, Farris Crowley was removed from his post as head coach of Cosumar after 38 years. The man who has replaced him is none other than...Gethin Ramsey. The Nepharim icon is probably one of the very few men who could immediately step into Crowley's shoes and own the position. The 75-year-old is exceedingly accomplished on both the international and domestic stages. He led Nephara to their first World Cup Finals (67) and successfully qualified with The Licentian Isles every year there. You can now add a Cup of Harmony triumph in his Cosumar debut to the list, as well as trips to the Quarterfinals and Round of 16. In the Nepharim Premiership, he made his name as a club legend at Chenoworth Rovers and eventually coached powerhouse AFC Treason to the title. Oft considered the best manager Nephara has ever produced, Ramsey's hire was a universally applauded and he has since become beloved by Cosumarite fans, players and media alike. The gaffer is best known for his ability to motivate players. He knows how to speak to them, how to identify with them - and they feed off his unwavering confidence. His harsh disciplinary style and frequent hairdryer treatments is a contrast to the patient, old-sage-mentor approach of Farris "Master Miyagi" Crowley. Ramsey brought with him his trusty tactical expert, Marlena Scamander, from AFC Treason.

Assistant Manager: Kennedy Kopenhaver Image
World Cup 76 was Kopenhaver's seventh as Assistant Manager since the sacking of Truda Jotunnoj after World Cup 69 (someone had to be the scapegoat for the team's failures and it wasn't going to be Crowley...yet). Kopenhaver, 60, was once a terrific center back in World Cups 55-57, back when Crowley was establishing his legacy. He was infamous in Cosumar for being one of the most intense players ever to step on a pitch. He would stop at nothing to win, even if it meant angrily telling his teammates what's what or getting himself a card to send a message. After retiring, Kopenhaver attempted a broadcasting career but was not happy. It was too far removed from the action! He then took to coaching, and spent six years as an assistant to Alvin Burnsides at Mallox FC. After being skipped over for the managerial vacancy at Miners 47 in Apox, he jumped on the chance to work for Crowley, his former mentor, with the National Team. Kopenhaver brings a lot of passion and energy to the team that Crowley and Jotunnoj hadn't been able to provide. He is a rare man - physically imposing yet keenly intelligent. Deceptively clever and excels at game strategy. Really knows how to motivate players.

Mriin National Team
For competition in the 77th World Cup

Style: +2.5

Note that all players (and most Mriinians) are Satyrs, or anthropomorphized goats. Horns, hooves, and a tail, but hands and bipedal. It might also be of note that Mriin uses a blend of steampunk science and high fantasy magic, rather than being modern or postmodern tech.

Coming off of their quarter-final elimination in the Baptism of Fire, the team is feeling more at home playing together and cede they simply lost to the better Drawkland team. But the manager still yearns for more...

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just don’t kill anyone, K?
Ages as of World Cup LXXVII finals. Subtract two years for first half of qualifying, one for second half.

Image
KRYTENIA 2242 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +3

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Dario NAVAS, Age 55
Instant legend – just add silverware. Navas is now immortalised in Krytenian football history by bringing home the Dragons' first trophy at AOCAF LII. The task is now to rebuild the team, with several key players retiring. Luckily, a few have stuck around to help coach the fresh blood.

Assistant Manager – Marco ANGELO, Age 40
Goalkeeping Coach – Marcus BAILEY, Age 37
Defensive Coach – Alfie XOUSA, Age 38
Offensive Coach – Alexander SAMPSON, Age 36
Physiotherapist – Jessica NELSON, Age 53

THE SQUAD

Image
Devon WILLIAMS
Age: 28
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Emberton Reds

Six-foot-seven, seventeen stone, and as agile as a cat. If he wasn't a goalkeeper, he could get a job in acting as "Scary Black Man #3".

Image
Marcus LYONS
Age: 31
Position: Right-back
Club: Bradwell Saints

Energetic defender with a keen eye for a pass.

Image
Liam ALLEN
Age: 23
Position: Left-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Pacy full-back who likes to link up with the wide midfielders. Expect plenty of crosses to feed the front men.

Image
Kevin FOURNIER
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Tall and muscular, Fournier isn't exactly an exponent of finesse – good luck beating him in the challenge, though.

Image
Quinton JOHANSSON
Age: 22
Position: Centre-back
Club: Casuals Osteria

Calm in the tackle, Johansson is comfortable playing in the back line or as a libero behind the central three.

Image
Jaime VERDANO
CAPTAIN
Age: 27
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

Slick passer of the ball with slicked-back hair and a smooth style. Bosses the centre of the park like he owns the place.

Image
VALRAUNCION
Age: Elf
Position: Forward
Club: Telecontarë (STB)

Ah, the infamous elf. Valrauncion has the unusual distinction of winning major international trophies for two nations. Whilst a Starblaydi international (and World Cup winner), he made a home for himself in Ousevale, and when Starblaydia withdrew from international football at the end of World Cup 57, the KFA made a cheeky request to naturalise the striker and offer him a place in the cyan. To their astonishment, he accepted. Now back where it all began for his club, the Cyan Army still knows that he may be a cock, but he's OUR cock.

Image
Al MOONEY
Age: 22
Position: Right midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Free-kick specialist. His close control is second to none; expect him to cut inside rather than lob one in from the flanks.

Image
Charlie SAMMELS
Age: 19
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United

Seling has big boots to fill, taking the role formerly owned by Ronnie van Rijn and Alex Sampson. Luckily for the Dragons, he's more lethal than an angry gorilla with a tommy gun.

Image
Armando ORTEGA
Age: 34
Position: Attacking midfield/forward
Club: Avidia United

Where to begin? Plays like the ball is glued to his feat, is completely fearless against defences...and despite being in his mid-thirties he's still one of the most feared players on the planet. Expect fireworks. And Exocets. Maybe the odd ICBM.

Image
Marco ESCOBAR
Age: 21
Position: Left midfield
Club: Avidia United

Another one off the assembly line marked “speedy Hispanic Krytenian midfielders”. Will link up well with Liam Allen.

Image
Douglas O'DONNELL
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Don't let the rock star hair fool you. O'Donnell is all business in the middle of the park.

Image
YEONG Lee-Guk
Age: 22
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Caledon Simpson

Lists former Dragons' stopper AS Choi as his idol. If he's even half as good, we're in safe hands.

Image
Graham OWENS
Age: 25
Position: Right midfield
Club: Ousevale Borough

Not that quick for a winger; it's his array of tricks, and his accurate delivery, that put him in contention for a place.

Image
Damiano MORENO
Age: 27
Position: Right-back
Club: Avidia United

Burst on the scene in the latter half of Liga Calania Season XV. Bags of pace.

Image
Peter KENILWORTH
Age: 28
Position: Central midfield
Club: Leston Town

The latest in a long line of attacking midfielders whose main job in th squad is “watch Ortega from the bench”.

Image
Sebastian McALLISTER
Age: 20
Position: Forward
Club: Caledon Simpson

”Wee Seb” may be barely 5'6”, but good things come in small packages. So does C4, of course...

Image
Neil JONES
Age: 27
Position: Forward
Club: Emberton Reds

Decent goal rate; prefers to play as a false nine, so expect him to deputise for Valrauncion when required.

Image
Stephen ROSSI
Age: 30
Position: Centre-back
Club: Stanton Town

No-nonsense, hard-tackling central defender.

Image
Ian ALBARN
Age: 29
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Albarn is as solid as a house at the back, preferring to play as an impromptu sweeper rather than creeping forward. This may limit his places in the national team, though, due to their predeliction for the pressing game.

Image
Peter ALEXANDERSSON
Age: 32
Position: Left midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Excellent crosser of the ball; not the fastest, if we're honest.

Image
Owain MORGAN
Age: 29
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: New Cefn Albion

Lists former national team hero Arian as his inspiration. Gets plenty of shot-stopping practice as Albion keeper.

Image
Caroline WILKINSON
Age: 26
Position: Left-back
Club: Caversham

One of the few female players in the Liga Calania, but can show the men a thing or two on the ball.

LIKELY STARTERS
Williams
Lyons – Fournier – Johansson – Allen
Mooney – Verdano (c) – Escobar
Ortega
Valrauncion – Sammels

United States of Devonta Men's National Soccer Team

Coach: Christopher Tajo Mendez
Assistant Coach: Vince Young
Demonym: Devontan
Trigram: USD

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 30 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today and will play till retirement.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Danny Cake Vanburen [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 176 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 33 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons and reigning his final two year contract with the club before his retirement. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Ranger F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. on a four year contract, before being signed on a two year loan to Ranger F.C. in Oisinistan.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, resulting in a 1-0 loss.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, he was given back to Nordland F.C. on a four year contract.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Coby Lamar Rice [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 19 - Substitute

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Mathew Alexander Creasmen [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 6'1 - Weight: 174 - Age: 17 - Substitute

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first.

Russell is not a good all around player and plays best as a defensive midfielder, He is quick and knows how to mark men and pass well, He seems to work best in tight situations and does not disappoint. He has admitted that he needs to work on his crossing and needs to improve his average level dribble.

10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He now plays as a regular starter on the team.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Left Midfielders:

12- Mohamed Zari Abdullah [Mandiana F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Son of two Muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. His father had only brought the clothes on his back and a soccer ball which he passed on to young Abdullah. Abdullah was invited to play for Maxwell Soccer Academy and accepted the invitation. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, although in a surprising move he resigned with the club for four years.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. In January of 2016 he resigned with the club for two years.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, a minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. In January of 2016 he was signed to a two year contract with Harding F.C after attending their training camp.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Right Midfielders:

14- DeMonte Creole Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Edwards started playing soccer as a little boy playing local neighborhood kids in his backyard. At age ten he was admitted into the youth league and they soon recognized his potential on the national level. His youth team won two championships and made it to the semi-finals three times, Partly do to Edwards efforts on the team. When he started high school he started to play for his high school team. His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards returned from Seggenea and resigned a smaller two year contract with Harding F.C.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

16- Julius Xander Washington [Strag City A.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., an emerging professional soccer club. In January of 2016 he announced he would leave his club if his new contract requirements were not agreed too, but last minute a two year contract was signed. Instead of playing for Mandiana F.C. he was loaned of to Strag City A.C. in the nation of Strag for two seasons.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

20- Alexander Graham Jones [Mariner F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Alexander played soccer for his local youth soccer league before he joined his high schools varsity soccer team leading them to a city wide championship twice in his four years of playing for his high school, After high school he managed to get signed onto a minor league where he played two great seasons but with limited success. Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., he renewed the contract for another two years in January of 2016.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

17- Tyrell LaMarcus Owens Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 23 - Starter
Owens was the son of a minor league soccer player and was raised into a life of soccer. As a kid his dad made him spend countless hours practicing in his backyard. He soon joined his high schools varsity team and dominated on the statewide level. After high school was offered a chance to play for a minor league team or attend a university and play on a college level. Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals.

Owens is known for his short burst of fast energy which allows him to get around other players. This also makes him good at crossing, shooting, and passing. He lacks from a defensive standpoint.

18- Salomon Van Bundy [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Bundy played soccer in his early childhood but quit soccer to play basketball. By the time he reached high school he decided to give soccer another try and joined his high schools varsity soccer team. Through the next four years of high school he made himself known with in his city and with in his state, Many critics were surprised when he was not offered any contracts by a professional league team. He settled for a scholarship to play soccer at Humphrey University where he played with some success his next four years, Helping his team to three quarter-finals and a semi-final. Finally after long negotiations with Danza F.C. he was admitted into the professional league for a two year contract. Bundy has announced he plans to leave Danza F.C and try to play abroad.

Bundy is known for being able to play in fast paced type games and can mark players and pass well, This also reflects on his shooting capabilities. He lacks when it comes to defense and ball control.

Forwards:

19- Gerald Van Johansen [Harding F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 23 - Starter
Johansen’s father was a professional soccer player and loved soccer almost as much as his family it seems like. From his first steps in school he attended Gulf Coast Soccer Academy competing against youth league teams and other academies across the nation. He made himself known across the nation and lead his team to many high profile matches and lead his university to four championships. At the age of seventeen he graduated the academy early after signing with Harding F.C. a professional league team, The contract lasted four years. During his first game he wowed the United States of Devonta with his performance in his first match, He continued to impress to the point it was no longer surprising. It was not soon after his second year he became the #1 ranked forward in the league. Though he played well his team struggled as a whole till a better line up was made and the team made it to two championships, but lost both. He resigned with Harding F.C. for three years and is currently Captain of the national team.

Johansen is known for his fast attacking capabilities, He has noted skills in crossing, ball handling, shooting, and works best in crowded environments it seems. Johansen as great focus and is also a capable all around versatile player his only problem is he tends to not like to pass the ball.

21- Lamar Samuel Adams [Danza F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 157 lbs - Age: 18 - Starter
Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Adams resigned with Danza F.C. for a large four year contract. He currently is the second youngest player on the national team.

Adams is a quick versatile Forward, Using his speed to make good crosses and get through defenders, His dribbling and control are also noted. Shooting seems almost basic to him. Adams has also shown is worth defending using his speed. Adams sometimes gets too frustrated or has problems with bragging about his goals.

#20- Condor Jesse Madrid [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 158 lbs - Age: 20 - Substitute

23- Noah Lamont Hill [Jinja F.C.]

Goalkeepers
#1 - GK - Aurélian Gautier - Parisia
20 years old - 6’7 - 203

Spectacular since making his debut at the age of 16, wonderkid Aurélian Gautier has confirmed himself to be the real deal. Blessed with a huge frame with a wingspan over 7ft, Aurélian seems like he would be more adept in basketball, however he dominates in goal and has started to play well as a sweeper keeper, further exploiting his natural athletic gifts. Aurélian really enjoys ancient Echani history; in his mind there's a lot to be learned from the past. To that end, he never strives to stop learning the intricacies of football. His sheer excellence as a player and desire to improve have not gone unnoticed and rumors abound of a transfer request.

#13 - GK - Demarcus Jones - FC Matovallanen (SEM)
25 years old - 6’5 - 194
A very springy, agile keeper despite his big frame, Demarcus Jones hasn’t really had the chance to show what he’s all about in international play thanks to the brick wall that is Pietro Tomaselli. Jones’ main strengths are his jumping ability and his fantastic reflexes that allow him to make absolutely insane instinctive saves. He has a tendency to fade in and out of games as his concentration wanes, but as he’s only 22, plenty of time to develop the mental side of the game. He won two Seria-A titles before a 12m offer from FC Matovallanen was too tempting to turn down, and Jones made the oft traveled track to Semarland.

Defenders:
#2 - RB (RWB/LB/LWB) - Steven Tadeo (Rosaria United)
23 years old - 6'1 - Weight: 161

An energetic young right back, Steven Tadeo has fantastic pace and dribbling ability for a defender. Seriously though, this kid is fast, just a half step slower than Marshawn Mercury, and that’s saying something. Even though he started his career as a winger, and indeed made his debut on the right wing, Tadeo has very quickly adapted to the defensive game, and is fantastic at containing a threat to the touchline. He does leave a little to be desired in the tackling department, and likes to stay on his feet, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He’s great at holding onto the ball, and his passing ability is absolutely top level. He’s a phenomenal player who was essential in Rosaria United’s title-winning campaign. Thanks to Eshan's rather lax drug laws, plenty of rumors are abound of a fondness of cocaine; a high-powered 'fast' drug that would be fit for the equally speedy player.

#3: CB: Darren Tran - Kyoshiku Island (OSR)
23 years old - 6’4 - 191

A very physically imposing defender, Darren Tran is one of the strongest players in the league, and couples that with decent pace and great positioning to form a brilliant defensive stalwart. While lacking much of a passing or dribbling ability, the classic hardman Tran is a lockdown defender who has put in a string of good performances at the DBC and CEED Cup, as well as proving to be more than a capable stand-in for Alexandria United’s league best defense. Completed a move from Alexandria United to Kyoshiku Island in Osarius, and has played impressing enough abroad to start for our national team.
International Appearances: 20

#5 - CB (LB) - Willian Luc Villaview (Rosaria United)
27 years old - 6’1 - 168

An excellent defender in his prime, Luc Villaview has fantastic pace and agility, and dominates the defensive line. Willian frequently steps into the space behind Samper Markovic to grab loose balls or to quickly close down a forward/midfielder to freeze them, before retreating back down the field to rejoin the defensive line. He's been a rock in the center of defense for the national team and Rosaria United, where he captained the second best defense in the league to their second title.

#6 - LB (LWB) - Hugo Carstensen - Samaj FC (COS)
25 years old - 6’2 - 183

Hugo Carstensen has crisp passing, good heading, good standing tackles, good speed, just an all around good player. At 6’2, he’s tall for an outside back, and with a high level of physical strength, he’s a bit of a bitch to get around. He lacks a bit on the offensive skillset, but he has a good sense of positioning to keep him a passing option as the team moves up the pitch.

#12 - CB (CDM) - Eric BAMBIC - Llara llera (SAN)
22 years old - 6’2 - 167
Eric Bambic cuts an elegant figure on the pitch with a trim 6’2 frame and fantastic technical skills that see him delicately poke the ball away from a defender before neatly rolling the ball out away from a challenge before passing the ball to the midfield. He has plenty of pace, albeit a little slow off the block, and has a very rapidly improving sense of positioning. He loves to carry the ball out of the back, and has the passing and dribbling skills required to have success at it. Great performances for Llara llera see him make his NT debut. He's an enthusiast of all things Quebec, and takes great joy in marijuana, fencing, and flirting with the intricacies of attraction.

#16 - LB (LM) - Luke Albom - Urrheddiao (CHROM)
31 years old - 5’11 - 159
Still a quick, agile, offensively player at 31 years of age, Luke Albom likes to operate at the left midfield spot when the team is in possession and pushes forward and holds there shore up space left open when the team is on attack. He’s comfortable on the ball, but prefers to pass it to one of the more creative players available. Albom is a solid defender, pushing wingers out towards the touchline and herding them out of bounds. He’s still a valuable rotation option for Alexio del Nieran’s brilliant Echani team.

#18 - RB (RWB/RM/RW) - Francesco Di Nolfo -La Nueva Avenida (FARF)
31 years old - 5’11 - 153
A quick player who is skilled on the ball, Francesco Di Nolfo started his career as a winger before being moved into defence. He loves to charge forward in attack, using his dribbling ability and speed to navigate the right side of the field. The first Echani player to play abroad, Di Nolfo will charge up and down the right flank as Marco van Ciavatinni sits narrow, and will undoubtedly spend plenty of time in the opposition half. He’s become far more defensively sound, and has gained a very solid sense of positioning in recent years, helping him to become a lethal weapon moving up and down the flank. Still a valuable rotation option for the national team with his vast international experience.

Midfielders:
#4 - RCM (CDM/CB) - Samper M.arkovic - Sebio City
25 years old - 6’1 - 169

Essential to both club and country, the brilliant defensive midfielder Samper Markovic is the rock that holds the entire team structure together. With pace and a top-level sense of defensive positioning Samper naturally drops from the midfield line into a CDM position during the run of play to snuff out opposing attacks before they get going, before carrying it upfield an offering an unpredictable and dynamic creative outlet from the midfield line. He has a brilliant range of passing, and several go-to dribbling moves to drop any pressure.

#8 - CAM (CM) - Jean-Marie Bentacur - Baskita FC (PAS) VICE-CAPTAIN
25 years old - 5’10 - 156

An extremely creative, highly technical playmaking midfielder, Jean-Marie Bentacur has added a defensive component to his game to become a complete midfielder. A quick and electric dribbler, Jean-Marie seeks to drive forward in attack and to make use of his dribbling, silky smooth touch, an eye for the killer pass, and a fantastic long shot. A key component of the national team, Jean-Marie Bentacur keeps the offensive game clicking, while also dropping back next to Xavier in defense to help regain possession. Bentacur has really evolved into a complete midfielder, capable of defending, supporting possession, and leading the charge himself, without a doubt one of the best Echani midfielders in history. A high profile transfer abroad to Baskita FC in Pasarga has drawn the nation’s attention to the team.

#11 - CDM (CM) - Xavi Arisilde - Goodfeather FC (NEPH)
25 years old - 6’0 - 166

A complete, consistent, hardworking and versatile midfielder, Xavi Arisilde and is capable of playing both center midfielder and defensive midfielder. Arisilde has good technique, solid vision, and fantastic passing range, and primarily plays as a deep-lying playmaker, but he is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder due to his strength and powerful build, combined with his rabid tenacity, football intelligence, aggressive tackling style and his mind that has been made to read the game. Occasionally guilty of committing hard challenges, and for his tendency to blow his top and rack up cards for particularly hard fouls. Made a move from Parisia abroad to Goodfeather FC in Nephara and has played well.

#14 - CDM (CM) - Iñaki Martón - Celtic Noviodunum (New Gelderland)
28 years old - 5’10 - 153
A fantastic defensive midfielder and possession recycling asset, Iñaki Williams is the perfect shield for the defensive line. He rarely pushes forward from his spot in front of the defense, and prefers to simply lay the ball off to more creative players then try to produce some magic himself. He possess a vastly underrated long ball ability, able to ping the ball forward and land exactly where wanted it. Confirmed alcoholic.

20 years old - 5’9 - 153
The elegant Elrond Yorick displays football in all of it's beauty, with picture perfect passes, elegant spins, and impossibly curving shots. He’s extremely agile, and with tight control of the ball, Yorick easily slices through defensive lines before slipping a pass through. He jumped ship from relegated Club Ithinia to Matthew Rangers, and has taken huge strides toward fulfilling his potential.

With the departure of Anthony Baudelio from Alexandria United, someone had to step up and provide goals. Enter Adnan Cynac in his fourth year with the club. Cynac has long been known for his aggressive dribbling and playmaking ability, but he really displayed a new eye for goal this past season by scoring 11 goals and assisting a further 12.

#23 CM (CAM/CDM) - Artemis Montanari - Hastmead Diamante (OSR)
18 years old - 6’3 - 168lbs
Undeniably the most talented Echani prospect in history not named Marco van Ciavatinni, Artemis Montanari is an incredibly cerebral player with world class vision and a passing ability to match. What makes him such an intriguing youngster is how complete his is in all aspects of midfield play. He’s a great dribbler, blending touches, moves, trickery and flair you'd expect from a winger, but also put in a smart tackle with his extremely athletic 6'3 frame. This versatility allows him to play anywhere in the midfield, and with his impressive pace, he could realistically play anywhere on the field with some level of expertise. At his best as a playmaker controlling the game with his passing and opening up avenues of attack with his dribbling, but could also play a lockdown defensive midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder; he really is Mr. Do it all at a good (potential for beyond elite) level. Leaked school transcripts and visual/spacial/intelligence tests for club football show an extremely high intelligence for Mr. Artemtis; he's a confirmed political wonk who closely follows domestic affairs. Completed a 5m move from Tëlenoir to the 22nd best club in the world, Hastmead Diamante before making his international debut during the 51st AOCAF.

Wingers & Forwards:
#10 - RW (ST/LW/CAM) - Marco van Ciavatinni (Sebio City) THIRD-CAPTAIN
22 years old - 5’9 - 147lbs

The best player in Eshan’s history, Marco van Ciavatinni was always tipped as a once in a generation player from a young age and he’s certainly fulfilled that billing. Turning out for the national team since he was 17, Marco van Ciavatinni helped lead Eshan to a 3rd place finish in the Baptism of Fire and has done a 3peat for Sebio City in the Echani Seria-A. MvC is simply sublime with the ball at his feet, and might actually move faster when he’s dribbling. A beautifully simple player, Marco is a master of feints, stop and starts, simple moves to send his opponent one way while he goes the other. A brilliant attacking threat, van Ciavatinni is at once his team’s first goal scoring threat, chief playmaker, and conductor of attacking movements. Scored 12 and assisted 9 during WC76 qualification. Quiet rumblings of a transfer request.

#9: ST: Anthony Baudelio (Alexandria United)
21 years old - 6'2 - 172lbs

Standing at 6’2, 172lbs, Anthony Baudelio is nothing else if an impressive physical specimen with the size and strength to bully defensive lines, but also wielding absolutely blistering pace, and the combination of the two allow him to influence the game based on his physical gifts alone. Add a lethality in front of goal that has never been seen before in Eshan, and you have a true world class talent. As more of an out and out striker, Baudelio isn’t much involved with build up play; his passing does leave a little to be desired, but he makes good use of his fantastic finishing ability and his ice cold demeanor to make finding the back of the net a non-issue. Has scored 103 goals in 140 appearances for Alexandria United, and has started to translate that over to the national team, scoring 11 during World Cup 76 qualification.

#7 - LW/RW - Marshawn Mercury - Cornellians (SCHO)
22 years old - 6’3 - 164

One of the most entertaining Echani players, Marshawn Mercury has finally made the jump to a top level player. Mercury combines world class speed, with a fantastic and flamboyant dribbling ability. Add in natural flair and a tendency for the spectacular, and you have a truly jaw dropping player who constantly amazes and bamboozles with his creative play. He’s improved on his support play and has certainly added goalscoring to his tally. Won a threepeat for his boyhood club Sebio City before Cornellians in Schottia came knocking with a 9m check.

#15: ST (LW) - Robby Stanford (Sebio City)
22 years old - 6’3 - 154
Tall and lanky, Robby Stanford came out of absolutely nowhere to score 21 goals in his professional debut season for Philosos, and hit 17 and 23 in his next two seasons with the team. He transferred over to Sebio City and was essential in securing a third Seria-A title in a row, although only able to score 14 goals (which isn’t a problem when you have the sheer brilliance of Marco van Ciavatinni to your right). Incredibly intelligent on and off the ball, Stanford always seems to pick the right option. Laying it out wide to a winger, smacking it back to the defense to retain possession, taking a shot, making a run, all of it is perfectly timed. He’s got blistering pace about him, and a great finishing ability. He’s physically weak and poor in the air, so he’s not winning any balls in the air, but his real strength lies with the ball at his feet. Despite being a good player for Sebio City, rumors circulate of Sebio City looking for a world class striker or winger to partner with MvC.

#17 - LW (RW/ST) - Magnum Cerelius - Gracemeria
18 years old - 6’2 - 173
An exceptional player even at a young age, and one of the keys to the future along with Rafa DiSantos and Artemis Montanari, Magnum Cerelius hails from the island state of Gracemeria, and has been the star of the club since joining at the age of 4. A fantastic physical prospect, blistering pace and acceleration and a developing level of strength, Magnum Cerelius stands at 6’2 and is physically developing at an impressive rate. Absolutely incredible ball control skills and a penchant for flair-filled dribbling, Magnum loves nothing more than embarrassing and nutmegging defenders, and has also displayed a strong finishing ability. A brilliant young player.

#20 - ST - Capello ‘C. Mortarotti’ Mortarotti - Parisia
23 years old - 6’3 - 191lbs
The first of the Mortarotti twins, Capello is the target man, finisher of the two. Poached up top for Parisia, he is responsible for finishing the chances provided by his more creative twin Tiburcio. The two of them have a telepathic connection and, while it has been extraordinarily helpful for their club Parisia, it hasn’t been enough to secure international football and there are rumors about of the two of them considering a transfer.

#22 - ST(CAM/LW) - Tiburcio ‘T. Mortarotti’ Mortarotti - Parisia
23 years old - 6’1 - 172
The second of the famous Mortarotti twins, Tiburcio is the more creative, teamplayer of the two to them. Typically ‘positioned’ next to his twin Capello for Parisia, T typically drops deeper to receive the ball and play as the link up between the midfield line and his twin brother Capello. He has a little bit of a LSD problem, but apparently that only helps his creativity on the pitch, with his ingenious passing earning him the ‘twin’ laudits of one of the most accurate and simultaneously creative Echani passers in history. He’s (and to an admittedly much lesser extent his brother) a much welcome addition to the Eshan team, and we look forward to what he can bring during the World Cup.

Playstyle: The Echani team plays a high-energy attacking game, moving the ball around quickly with primarily short passes, searching for a weakness in the opposition's defensive play. When a weakness is identified, the team surges forward in attack, with quick interlocking play to bring to ball to the goal. Creative freedom is given to the strikers, wingers, and the advanced playmaking midfielder, as well as the directive to roam from their position in an attempt to find pockets of space where they may be more effective. The team closes down quickly, aiming to win back possession in five seconds or less. Failing that, the team drops deep into defensive positioning to shore up any vulnerabilities. Echani defenders stay on their feet rather than trying desperate slide tackles. They love a good physical jostle with an opponent, and all Echani players are expected to contribute to both attack and defense. When in attack, the defensive line pushes higher up to pitch to condense play.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

The departure of Kasper Molak under very humiliating circumstances (namely following the shock defeat by Abanhfleft at the hands of whipping boys Braxil) has marked the end of an era in the national team's history. Holly Jonasson, the Armeian-Anglatian named as Molak's successor, managed to lead the team to third place in their qualifying group in WC 74 and a quarterfinals spot in Cup of Harmony 66, but the men's team was not overly keen in having Jonasson at the helm of their team, and so for the first time in their history as a member of the NationStates World Cup, Abanhfleft will be having separate managers for the men's and women's teams. Ranulph Bustamante, who was an assistant manager under Molak's tenure, becomes the men's new manager, while Jonasson keeps her spot as the women's team's manager. Bustamante has promised to follow in his predecessor's footsteps with regards to attractive attacking football, but it remains to be seen if his tactics will translate well to the field...

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 4-3-1-2
Head coach: Ranulph Bustamante (50 y/o, Abanhfleft)

STARTERS
GK: Maksim VARAMONINOV 34 y/o, Mevosa Image (Fluvique), vice-captain
A traditional keeper, Varamoninov prefers to stay behind and near his goal as much as possible, unless his team has gone on the offensive and there are no other players to bother him in his half, or when he is called forward in the last minutes of a game for the possibility of scoring a header from a corner. A very tall keeper with insanely long limbs and neck and, according to many Fleftic footie fans, one of the most punchable faces in the league. (FYI, he looks like Courtois.)

LB: Daisuke OGIGAYATSU 23 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image
Daisuke Ogigayatsu is the younger brother of Flardanian striker Eriko Ogigayatsu, who is one of the star strikers of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies (alongside Zsofia Dolan and Tess Byquist). Daisuke is the only member of the Ogigayatsu family who was born in Abanhfleft, which made him eligible to represent the country by nature of the law which automatically grants Fleftic citizenship to everyone born within Fleftic borders. Daisuke is a speedy fullback whose bags of pace allow him to keep up with the offense of the team while at the same time not shirking from his defensive responsibilities. So far, he's been overlooked by the SFA, but Heinrich Wurzmann hopes that Daisuke will shine enough in the Independents Cup to warrant a real call-up for the real national team. That hope has now come true come the World Cup 77 qualifiers.

LCB: Kenneth OWOBOWALE 22 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
It took some time, persuasion, and money, but Rosenpfelblatz City were finally able to secure the services of Kenneth Owobowale from their "rivals" across town, Rosenpfelblatz North End, after Owobowale proved instrumental to the Northerners' survival in Unang Liga. It's obvious that Rosen City are planning for the future because Owobowale's rock-solid presence will be needed following the departure of Tom Wilkinson, and looking at his selection in Ranulph Bustamante's 23-man squad, he will also be part of Abanhfleft's future.

RCB: Luke EDWARDS 33 y/o, Riuwiee United Image, captain
The captain of the national team is back, and this time, he's even more raring to go into action ever since a knee injury last season derailed Riuwiee United's hopes of a thirty-third title. Now fully healed and back into both Artemio Peres and Ranulph Bustamante's starting eleven, Edwards is looking forward to competing on the international stage once again and show younger brother Rory, who has been included in the senior national team for the first time in his career, how a real international player plays.

RB: Melisizwe AFOLAYAN 24 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image
Afolayan is a no-nonsense defender that doesn't take being skilled around by the opponent lightly. If the opponent begins skilling his or her way around Afolayan then he will just stick out a leg and trip over the opponent, which has led to a disciplinary record filled with yellow cards and the occasional red card. The Rodrigues management claims that Afolayan has the potential to be a wing-back due to his high offensive work rate, but only time will tell if this will become true. Signed by Locomotive Imgortur as a long-term replacement for Charles Amoroso and was a fixture in Abanhfleft's early Di Bradini squads before finally making the cut with the senior national team.

LM: Andrea MARILUNGO 23 y/o, Malabon SC Image
Malabon is not generally considered to have one of the better football academies within the Fleftic football system, and Adelmio Bandini isn't also noted for being the type of manager to promote from within the club, but Marilungo proved to be the exception to both these rules. Although he's more of a central midfielder for Malabon, his wicked good left foot means that Ranulph Bustamante has put in the left midfield where he can put his defensive qualities to good use and cover for his fellow youngsters Daisuke Ogigayatsu and Kenneth Owobowale. But that doesn't mean Marilungo can't come forward and help on the offense as well.

CM: Valery ZOLNEROV 28 y/o, Saint Matthew Image (Fluvique)
After impressing for the under-21s in Abanhfleft's first ever Di Bradini campaign, Zolnerov dropped off the radar after turning 22 and becoming ineligible for the under-21s and turning in a decent-ish performance for Kimmirut Panhandle. However, when he began playing consistent first-team football and helped Kimmirut to return to the Premier League after five seasons in Unang Liga, Zolnerov is back on everyone's minds. After five seasons of watching Kimmirut bounce around between the Premier League and the Unang Liga, Val has decided that he wants to play for a team with a steady league place and went for Fluvique's Saint Matthew for the neat sum of NSD 14.5m.

RM: Tanaka OKAMOTO 23 y/o, Deportivo Mangudadatu Image (Oontaz)
Ranulph Bustamante, normally one of the most level-headed coaches in the opinions of Fleftic fans, suddenly had his sanity questioned when he announced the inclusion of Tanaka Okamoto into his World Cup 75 squad. Nobody had even heard of Okamoto until the youngster scored a hat-trick against Sangley Point, and even then, those three points only secured Mangudadatu's place in the Coalition Champions' League. Before that game and his hat-trick, Okamoto was only known by a few scouts and youth managers as "a weak player in all aspects", with no strong areas to redeem him, and it's most likely that he wouldn't have even started for Mangudadatu were it not for the club's well-known injury woes. But scoring a hat-trick surely means that he has improved as a player, right? Right? Now starting for the World Cup proper in place of the injured Toumain Vincelot.

CAM: Rory EDWARDS 26 y/o, Riuwiee United Image
Consistent for the three years that he'd been playing for the under-21s but never quite managing to lead them to the title, the younger Edwards sibling has made his mark, but will certainly look to make that mark bigger with his inclusion into the first team of the senior squad. His main job will be feeding Potter and Kelvin, but he can and does score some goals from his position. He has the future to be either a false 9 or an actual striker in his own right.

CF: Kareem DAGEN 21 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
Dagen can be described as the breakout player of the first Sporting World Cup, scoring 10 goals and leading Abanhfleft to second place in the aforementioned tournament. His amazing performance as a striker led to his signing by Eikborg Club, a Semarlandish club competing in the Globe Cup, making him the first ever Fleftic player to sign for a foreign league other than Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum. Dagen's quality performance in the Sporting World Cup also earned him a starting spot in the Fleftic under-21s, over the likes of Garrett Krantz and Irina Babarushchik. Now he's starting because those other players are now ineligible as well. After a few years with Eikborg, Dagen has gone back to Rosenpfelblatz on the promise of first team minutes and playing alongside the likes of Max Fetfatzidis and Oliver Ganson.

CF: Vitaly ZIMA 22 y/o, Imperial Markovsky Image
Vitaly Zima is the twin brother of Arkadi Zima of Revolutionary Nordskania, and they've had quite a contentious relationship outside of football. Vitaly is a one-dimensional striker who is good at getting into spaces and poaching the ball in dangerous areas, but other than that, he's not a remarkable player. No one's really sure why Vitaly has been included to the Independents Cup squad, except maybe to provide a contrast to his more prominent brother Arkadi, who's made a lot of waves recently. He scored goals in the Independents Cup and made himself look like a world-class striker so that has to explain why he was included in the qualifying pool. Now starting in the World Cup proper in place of the recovering Kevin Kelvin.

RESERVES
GK: Ikenna OBAMA 28 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Image
Turned in some good performances for his stint in the under-21s, and will look to warm the bench for the senior squad this time around.

GK: Samwell CROWNOVER 26 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC Image
Impressed lots of people with being one of the youngest starting keepers ever to play a full season for Thereisnogodistan during their Multiverse Premier League campaign. Will probably alternate between him and Obama in warming the backup keeper spot on the bench.

DEF: Robin RIEDEWALD 23 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
There's nothing much out there to distinguish Riedewald from the many other Fleftic left backs available to Ranulph Bustamante in his first stint as manager of the Fleftic national team other than the fact that he's quite young. Bustamante has been known to be a manager who opts to develop youth players alongside a mix of skilled veterans, and he appears to be doing the same for Abanhfleft's foray into the 75th World Cup. One of Kasper Molak's few weaknesses is an over-reliance on the same group of players day in and day out, and Bustamante may look to break away from his predecessor and mentor by picking his own players to slot into Abanhfleft's crucial areas.

DEF: Horace POPOV 22 y/o, Dinamo Bender Image (Pridnestrovia), male
A member of the Fleftic under-21 team's backroom staff happened upon Popov while playing Championship Football Manager and noticed that the kid had high defensive potential. Popov is still a diamond in the rough, but some experience under the wing of Melisizwe Afolayan could see him become a potential star. Whether it's for his mother's homeland Abanhfleft or his birth country Pridnestrovia still remains to be seen, but for now, while he's still under the age of 21, he's Abanhfleft's man. With Afolayan now ineligible, it's up to Popov to make an impact that will keep him in a white shirt. Injuries to Jordan Cervantes and Holland Emilianovski have necessitated Popov's inclusion into the senior team where he hopes to make a very good impact.

DEF: Zakarya BERGKAMP 31 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image (Oontaz)
Of course, a senior team can't be made up mostly of young players. Some experience is needed to give the youngsters a sense of perspective as well. This is the role that Zakarya Bergkamp fulfills in his inclusion into the team for his first ever senior international appearances. He will spend most of the games on the bench, but could be sent onto the field to close out games. He'll also hold the young defenders together by teaching them all about overcoming the odds and helping the team to win games by good, solid defense, and the occasional goal when the situation requires it.

MID: Durdan LOVREN 30 y/o, Sheriff Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia)
Effective midfield distributor and executor when he's in form, and turns over the ball every second touch when he's not. (Liverpool fans will know that it's based on namesake Dejan Lovren)

MID: Philipp BEHRENDT 22 y/o, CSKA Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia)
Philipp will probably be a right-footed midfielder back-up under Ranulph Bustamante's 4-3-1-2 system, but being a natural right midfielder, he will obviously slot in that place if needed. But with some better and wiser talents ahead of him in the pecking order, it might take a long time before Behrendt finally gets his first cap.

MID: Omar EL SALAH 23 y/o, Hapoel Nineveh Image (Oontaz), on loan from Arsenal de Releinthi Image
Arsenal and Godric Wexler have always had a reputation for producing good players from their academy's ranks, and while Omar El Salah hasn't been on anyone's radars before last season, when El Salah came out to play in a few Premier League games to fill in for the injured Elliot Edison, and he has proven to be one of the better things about Arsenal's disappointing season. He scored his debut goal against Marinos Thimpodopoulos to give them a victory against their bogey team, and then El Salah scored his first goal in the Monsanto Stadium against Kimmirut Panhandle, the team that had knocked them out of the SFA Cup just a week earlier. El Salah is speedy and has great composure and finishing which belies his young age, but with many other good players ahead of him, he will have to wait for a few games before earning his first cap.

MID: Toumain VINCELOT 24 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Image
Toumain Vincelot is originally from the Anglatian colony of Patierre. His family fled to Abanhfleft after the Anglatians removed the Communist presence in the colony because the Vincelots had been known socialist sympathizers, although Toumain himself is apolitical. Vincelot is a tough, no-nonsense defensive-minded midfielder and will think nothing of going in for the sliding tackle if it meant breaking up the opposition's attack. Following stellar performances in the Independents Cup in Bonesea (including at least two Man of the Match awards), Vincelot has been called up to the senior national squad to replace the injured Alan Turpentine. Now sidelined for the entirety of the World Cup due to an injury sustained during a match against Revolutionary Nordskania.

FW: Kevin KELVIN 29 y/o, Malabon SC Image
Well, here's a player that's finally playing in the level he deserves. Kevin Kelvin first came to attention during the World Cup 71 qualifiers as a stunning substitute striker that sent in lots of cool shots for the Democratic Republic. Unfortunately, this form hasn't carried to his club Electric Yugal, who were eventually relegated to Unang Liga last season. Fortunately for Kelvin once again, Adelmio Bandini saw potential in him and picked him up for Malabon for NS$10m. Not a bad price for a striker that scores tons when he's in form yet can be frustratingly bad when he's not in form. He loses his place to Vitaly Zima due to Kelvin still recovering from an earlier hamstring injury.

FW: Arthur MacALISTAIR 19 y/o, Athletic Image (Fluvique), male
Arthur started his career as a left-sided midfielder but eventually found himself becoming a great winger, even if just for the under-18 and under-21 squad. His few substitute appearances during the latest Di Bradini Cup earned him a move to Fluvique's Athletic, where is now getting some more first-team minutes than he could have possibly expected from his first club. Owen Bevan got the most out of Arthur in the second Sporting World Cup as a winger, but was shifted back in deep midfield by Celerino delos Reyes, but for his first senior team roster mention, he's expected to be at least a winger once again. Replaces the totally and completely unused Yoshinobu Mori.

FW: Tristan LEE 31 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Image
Tristan was the greatest surprise of last season's Premier League, scoring a whopping 22 goals for Admiral Porcusces, leading them to their highest ever PL finish in their history. This is noteworthy because before his record goalscoring season, Lee's highest ever goal tally was just 10 goals in a season, and that was when Porcusces won the SFA Cup in 2010, and he was only 20 years old. And while Porcusces never really challenged for the title last season, the team as a unit were able to sneak into that vital fourth place to qualify them for the Antarctic Champions League. Ranulph Bustamante is a vocal fan of Tristan's tenacity and willingness to find the back of the net whatever the odds, and this earned Lee his first ever call-up to the national team. Hasn't been able to replicate that winning performance but still shows enough flashes and glimpses to merit inclusion in the qualifying squad. (Based on the one and only Vardy.)

STADIUMS
All football stadiums in Abanhfleft now have seats following a mandatory upgrade in 2000, but despite this ruling, many, if not all, stadiums still allow standing spectators during matches. However, in anticipation for World Cup qualifying matches, more security forces had been hired by the authorities to make sure that there are no standing spectators in such games.

Official name: May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium
Capacity: est. 67,000
Record attendance: 72,308 (Riuwiee United vs. Wanda Island Wanderers; June 3, 2009)
Operator: Riuwiee United FC
Short history: The May 26 Stadium, originally known as Raschner Lane, and later on as Riuwiee National Stadium, was built in 1886 as a cricket ground, and it served as home for two semi-pro cricket teams before it was bought by the Riuwiee Capitals football team, which will later on become Riuwiee United. After the conclusion of the Catholic Revolution of 2008, the national government bought the controlling share of Riuwiee National Stadium and renamed it the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium, in commemoration of the May 26 Revolution that eventually established the nation of Abanhfleft. Riuwiee United still play in the May 26 Stadium, but now it is also the chosen stadium for home games by the Fleftic national football team.

Image

Official name: State of Wanda Island Arena
Capacity: est. 54,000
Record attendance: 59,674 (Wanda Island Wanderers vs. Malabon SC; November 15, 2012)
Operator: Wanda Island Wanderers FC
Short history: The State of Wanda Island demolished the old Wanda Island Arena in 1998 to make way for a new and improved football stadium that follows international standards. Construction began in 1999, and finished just in time for the beginning of the 2001 Premier League season. The Wanderers played in a nearby high school athletic field for the duration of the arena's construction. In 2010, when IKEA entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Wanderers, the arena was consequently called IKEA Arena for sponsorship reasons. This agreement is expected to continue until 2020, after both sides came to a six-year contract extension.

Image

Official name: Monsanto Stadium
Capacity: est. 50,000
Record attendance: 56,555 (Arsenal de Releinthi vs. Admiral Porcusces; January 7, 2013)
Operator: FC Arsenal de Releinthi
Short history: Arsenal de Releinthi mooted moving to a new stadium ever since 1993, but it was only in 2002 that the club managed to get permission to begin construction on the site of a former landfill after disputes with the city council and land planning office. Even then, it was only after Monsanto agreed to shoulder the cost of the new stadium that it was even built, and because of this, the stadium was named Monsanto Stadium. Arsenal de Releinthi and Monsanto entered into a seven-year contract extension this year, potentially extending Monsanto's sponsorship of the club up to 2021.

About Rebuild the Wall

Rebuild the Wall is a conservative nation that largely keeps to ourselves other than for international soccer competition. It is a young fledgling nation made up of refugees from other nations that have been becoming more globalized and socialist. The national focus is on defense and preserving a more traditional way of life.

Information for foreign visitors

Our morally conservative culture emphasizes dressing modestly—especially for women. Foreign women who visit our nation are provided with ankle-length dressed to wear that don’t reveal cleavage either to discourage Rebuild the Wallian men from fraternizing with them. Exceptions will be made for female players on opposition teams with a request that the uniforms be respectful of our modesty standards.
As a fledgling nation, we may not have developed some of the creature comforts you are used to in other nations. We may not allow some of them either as violations of our moral code. Foreign law breakers will be dealt with swiftly, with some measure of diplomacy considered to avoid needless international incidents. The more serious the crime, the more likely it is your visitor will find themselves locked up (or worse). While for more minor violations discipline is likely to range from a warning/fine up to expulsion from our country with a travel ban prohibiting their return.

Wooden Palisade

Seating Capacity: 5,000
Visitor Allotment: 100
While the national stadium (and only stadium in the nation at this time) was hastily constructed during the Baptism of Fire 64 tournament it was also sturdily built so there are no concerns that it is going to collapse in the middle of a match. The seating is all wooden benches in wooden bleachers, so it isn’t very comfortable. There is also no suites of VIP seating at this time, though the stadium is right outside our main government offices which allows the Chancellor the ability to watch matches from his office.
Tentative plans are in the works to first expand, then replace the stadium as our nation grows and potentially if we start up a domestic league.

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information
Electrum seeks its fifth straight consecutive qualification with renewed spirit and energy. The national team, who barely meet each other except when training for the World Cup, have been getting along fine, with new faces finally coming up from the newly reinvigorated youth programs from a few years ago. As a result, familiar names such as Ramirez, Fielding and goalkeeper Lemona retiring. Finally, new goalkeeper Sam Kara, who has been in the wings for a long time, will have a chance to shine after a stellar domestic season for Somer City, which saw the team get into the Champions Cup. It's been a quiet pre-season towards the World Cup qualifiers, with Jeffery Clark continuing his policy of allowing his players to play in the domestic leagues, and not pursuing friendlies or other tournaments. Indeed, for the first time in as many seasons, the Electrumite team omitted the Copa Rushmori in like with Clark's decision for his 'less is more' approach. There's no evidence if this strategy will work -- only time will tell, but as far as the players are concerned, they are happy because there is less general fatigue, and less chances of injury.

The team are riding on a high, this being the first edition after they were the hosts of the World Cup. Now, interest in association football has been at its highest in Electrum, and its up to the team to ride that momentum and set the tone for the years to come. The team also contains new players coming up from the newly instituted Electrum Youth League.

The Capital Stadium, as it is known by locals, is a mediocre stadium built for its lack of spectacle. It was designed with the feel of a high school soccer match in mind, and it does that well. The fans will be hectic as always, so expect rowdy crowds and a lot of yelling.
