Welcome everybody to the 76th edition of the World Cup, the longest running sport competition in NationStates! In this thread all competing nations for this world cup are more than welcome to provide a post about their players, managers, coaching staff, tactics, kits and other details that they need to add in their roster ahead or during this World Cup.

There are few things that you should try to fulfill while working on a roster, and those are a starting 11, bench and/or reserves, a formation, coaching staff and styles modifier. A style modifier should also be provided. This is very important because a style modifier gives an indication as to how defensive and offensive your team is, ranging from -5 being the most defensive (conceding and scoring few goals) to +5 being the most offensive (conceding and scoring a lot of goals). For those newer to here, it will also help you develop something to RP about.

OOC conversations should be directed to the World Cup Discussion Thread. Unnecessary spamming to any of the IC threads (this, RP and Results thread) may lead to harsh penalties, including a reset of the competitor's RP bonus at the discretion of the co-hosts. Mods, hosts, and WCC leadership may post organizational information as necessary.

To close this introduction post off, please include the following RP permissions box along with your roster. This is very important matter of courtesy to those here, because when writing an RP, we will have to consider these permissions set by your opponent :

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No

San José Guayabal (SJG) National Team

The Guayabalense NT in the last cycle

Spiel: Qualifying as the first place in the group again and with a good position in the group were enough to feed the hopes to qualify to the Round of 16 in World Cup 73, and those hopes were confirmed after winning the group unbeaten with just one goal against in a group including Polar Islandstates, Farfadillis and Schottia, then the desired door to the Round of 16 was open and Kandorith was the rival, somehow La Selecta won the game and qualified for Quarter-finals and the illusions appeared among the fans, we were in front of the best national team in the history of San José Guayabal, they made more illusions after winning Cosumar with a lone goal and with that qualifying for Semifinals, expectations and illusions were high and people wanted the final but Eura was in front, the Eurans won all their previous games on that cycle with easiness and big amounts of goals on those games. With a smart sense of the game, La Selecta stood against the Eurans and kept them nil-nil in ninety minutes and then going to the penalty kicks after the Eurans tied the game with a late goal, in a mad penalty kick series, the Eurans won the game, 13-12 on penalties but that wasn't bad for the Guayabalense team, they already made history and they achieved more after winning the third place of the World Cup against Vilita with a 4-2 win.

After a CE that put every Guayabalense to dream with an extraordinary participation, reaching the final for the first time ever, with a splendid offense and an extraordinary defense performance, they were ready to face Nephara, but the dream of winning it came to an abrupt dead end, an horrorific 1-5 defeat finished the wonderful run into the tournament, despite that, people is happy by the fact of reaching a CE final for the first time. In WC 74, being hosted back in San José Guayabal, illusion arose at the highest levels, La Selecta didn't disappointed and performed well, beating strong rivals such as Farfadilis, Audioslavia in order to do the dream and achieve the first World Cup Final appearance for La Selecta, a fatidic penalty kick roulette kept the Guayabalenses away from achieving their biggest sporting glory ever.

In this World Cup 75, La Selecta had a new challenge, being at their best moment ever, but since the very beginning, the World Cup Group stage seemed to be a catastrophe, since a rather mediocre participation at that competition, with early defeats vs debutants Bonesea and historical Vilita, getting a bit of redemption against Electrum but not being enough to get past the Group Stage, now, coming to the Eagles Cup, La Selecta wants to come back to that level of football that they achieved back on the WC 73 and 74 period that took them to the highest positions that Guayabalense football has ever reached, now getting a win will be key for the team, as they are confident that they can recover the level.

Effectively, La Selecta lifted up their motivation and did recover their level, as they showed up in WC 73 and 74, reaching once again semifinals after struggling in World Cup Group Stage, with a win, a draw and a defeat. After that, they improved a lot and managed to leave Valanora aside in a really important game, where the National Team kept world-class individualities such as Laborious Hawk behind the borderline, also sent off the World Cup Co-hosts Ceni in a dominating 1-4 game, then they faced Audioslavia, the nation that defeated La Selecta on the Group Stage, and they did took revenge from WC 74 where La Selecta eliminated Audioslavia, the bulls did the same thing but on Penalty Kicks. La Selecta got a decent third place ending when nobody gave anything for them after they did the worst WC Group Stage performance ever two years ago. Now, being at home, La Selecta is now facing a new challenge for the WC, it’s a golden chance to achieve the dream, the goal of tasting victory like never before and sent out the ghosts about Guayaalense performance in Group Stages or finals.

After Olivera left, the Guayabalense National Team, due to the plans that Lina Amos have, decided to switch some aspects from what they had before, now the National Team has opted to use a four midfielders line and only one striker, not three as usual, now the two players that used to act as strikers will now act as wingers in order to feed the striker enough chances to do his job and avoid confusion or misunderstanding in the area and having more efficient opportunities there, although, those wingers can integrate and act like three strikers when really needed. The four midfielders line is now pretty much at the same “height” of the pitch, featuring now two midfielders in order to have a better control of the ball and avoid the rival having clear chances of counterattacking or being surprised in certain gap that the midfield zone could leave behind, as they did back some cycles ago, Valencia continues as a game destroyer but plays now some meters forward to his original position, apart of having now a more relevant participation as captain and trying to use him for free kicks and creation of game. In the defense, nothing really changes, the same players at the same positions and same roles, a work that has been good for all over 14 years won’t change suddenly and Amos understood that, hence she decided to give continuity to Oliveira plans in defense, also, making sure that the team remains compact, as a whole unity while defending or attacking, in order to be effective.

Game style: Over the time, the basic game style of the Guayabalense football has changed, but there is always a main characteristic that still remains untouched: Speed. Guayabalense players are usually technical and fast, they will not doubt to dribble to get past a defense and go forward with a fulminant counter attack, Sean Fraser is the most likely to do this. Fraser is well known for also being a 100 meters competitor and has been in two Olympic Games, his skills at dribbling are average if we compare with another Guayabalense players but his speed is in another dimension. Other characteristics that make Guayabalense football easy to recognize is the typically offensive vocation and discipline of the players: The team is a sole entity, everyone is responsible to participate in attack and everyone is responsible to defend, a tactic called “Fútbol Total” and developed by Paulo Oliveira.

Into more specific terms, the Guayabalense player is all-around, tends to be fast, disciplined and a bit rude while defending since there’s a simple philosophy that it is taught on young academies: “Either the ball or the player can go past the defense but not both” because this, it will be common to see Guayabalense players sweeping and defending in a style that it’s pretty much borderline between getting carded or not. Guayabalense players are “gentleman” sport-wise, they won’t doubt to apply fair play if needed or to stop playing in case a player from the opposition team is on the ground, unless they are in disadvantage and time is running out, they don’t dive but they try to provoke defenders to take them down and earn free kicks or penalties to give an opportunity to the “cannon” that Rodolfo Zelaya has in his right foot or try to surprise the rival. Though being “gentleman”, the Guayabalenses aren’t calm while playing, the players tend to be really passionate on what they do and expect some moments when they will heat up and start arguing with whoever is in front of them. Another thing that Guayabalense players love, to surprise the rival with unexpected moves that usually end in goals and are decisive for the success of the national team in the last couple of years.

Playing on the sides is usual in Guayabalense football, either to go forward and give a cross to find Zelaya in the box or dribbling to get into the area and score a beautiful goal, one of the best things about the 3-1-3-3 implemented by Oliveira and Herrera is the fluidity of the game, allowing four players to defend when needed or even five players attacking when in need to score a goal, the Guayabalense team is pretty compact in this terms, they attack as unity and defend as unity, everyone has an specific role, starting with the main player on the scheme, the “destroyer” who is on charge to “destroy” any chance of the rival and recover the ball or controlling the rhythm of the game when needed, can attack or defend, basically it is the role with most fatigue, players on this role tend to be pretty resistant (physically-wise), fast and overly aggressive, to the point of being really temperamental. Basically, Guayabalense football seeks to force the rival to commit mistakes, high pressure, unity, discipline, speed, precision and a great aerial game.

The Managers

Lina Amos 45 Y/O, Nationality: Chromatik Image

After a 14 year tenure of the Guayabalense manager position by Paulo Oliveira, Lina Amos has taken the reigns of the Guayabalense National team, in a period that the team seems that they have recovered the good shape that made them reach semifinals in two straight World Cups, Amos has been a surprising manager in the multiverse, leading the Chromatik National Team to World Cup semifinals in her first cycle as manager of them, casually being defeated by La Selecta. She’s often described by Guayabalense media as a football academician, since she tends to emphasize on using strategy as a key part of the game, as the physical action as well, to the point of doing analogies of football and chess, the hopes are high by the ability she has to make her players give their best on what they have, sort of exploiting their maximum potential, which is needed if La Selecta ever wants to be considered as a real option to win a World Cup, something that Amos doesn’t promises but warned that may be defined on the pitch “where really matters.”

Spimoc Na'Amoseh 65 Y/O, Nationality: Cosumarite (Vloo) Image

He's a 65-year-old Vloo who was Lujendra Mescalin's assistant manager at Real Azuris for the last eleven years. Tall, soft-spoken but a very hands-on coach in training. Characterized by haing a good approach to football, definitely somebody who enjoys to see the sport as an art, not only as a simple sport, Na’Amoseh has had a brilliant time on Cosumar on Real Azuris, to the point of winning a UICA Champions’ Cup and dominating the Harlighet Ligan several times, without doubt, a person with experience and good records behind him for this job, being qualified for it. Prefers a fast-paced and attacking, yet methodical, style of play. Tends to have a good approach with all players, especially with Sean Fraser, who plays for Real Azuris since eight years ago. Looks forward to working together with Lina Amos.

Starting XI Bio

Abraham Terrazas 25 Y/O, Goalkeeper of Izotz Zubia (AUD) Image

Maybe the youngest keeper on the history of the National Team, Terrazas was even more young when he left to the Audioslavian powerhouse Izotz Zubia, though his youngness was a limit to be on the starting XI, he took advantage of any chance he had to demonstrate his best level of game, through the time, Terrazas has been climbing to the top in his club, after some time. After a disaster caused by Henry Hernández on World Cup 71, Terrazas was chosen by Oliveira and Herrera to be the new GK, his age wasn’t a reason to intimidate him and the circumstances weren't a factor too, giving important reasons to pick him as the defensive bulwark of the team in key moments, especially in CoH 63 final when he saved a penalty kick to the legendary Vanorian striker Laborious Hawk and giving it the first WCC Sanctioned tournament victory to San José Guayabal, also, his participation in WC 72 and especially WC 73 has been a key to secure excellent performances for La Selecta.

James Moreira 27 Y/O, Left Back of Trothwands Evolution (OSR) Image

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team since early WC 66, as the time passes, Moreira has consolidated himself into one of those players who do above average performances, a passionated player who dedicates and performs always to the 100% is useful. His main characteristics are: phisical and aggressive player, pretty temperamental player, one of the players with whom the opponent must be careful while facing him.

Mattías Passarelli 35 Y/O, Centre Back of Avenida Leal (FFD) Image

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team. After several political problems in Yttribia and the relegation of Delare Minon, he decided to leave the club and Passarelli wasn't active for almost two and a half years, he just accumulated NT caps during that time but he always was the same defender, an active and agressive centre back, media and fans were pressing to stop calling him to the NT due to his lack of professional activity but an offer from the Farf side of Avenida Leal was enough to make him signing with them and keeping his position on the national team.

Meyson Salume 28 Y/O, Right Back of Revolutionaries (EUR) Image

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defense, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivation caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands, where he did a decent performance, consolidating himself into the most reliable player of the defense, but after leaving for some time due to The Big Polarian Freeze, he returned to San José Guayabal and got hired fastly by Atlético Nacional, despite the team did some bad performances in the last years, Salume has prevented that those already bad performances could have turned into a nightmare for the "Nationalist Squad" and then he turned into the captain that they have needed for a long time.

Rudy Valencia 32 Y/O, Defensive Midfielder (Destroyer) of St. John’s Arsenal (QUE) Image

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labor in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata and in Eura, now he's in Semarland to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards. Apart from that, Valencia is characterized for being a disciplined player in terms of accomplishing his mission in the midfield, sometimes he manages the tempo but the 65% of times destroys the opposition movements and plays, Valencia is almost always the one in charge to start the counterattacks since the very beginning of this national team, along with the other players he has improved a lot but his maturity at the time of doing his labor is incredible, a totally efficient player, difficult to beat in a head to head thanks to his physic and resistance, leading him to be an important part of the team.

Sebastián Núñez 28 Y/O, Central Midfielder of Revolutionaries (EUR) Image

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and put it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch. Without doubts, Núñez is one of those players who are able to risk it all, no matter the cost but he wants to risk in order to do something new, creative and innovative, in resume he is the creative of the team, creates opportunities from unthinkable chances, definitively a mastermind into the team, also he is on charge of being the leader of the "orchestra" by leading the tempo and moving the ball to wherever might generate danger, also, Núñez is a fast player, so he might collaborate on defense and in counterattack when needed.

Leónidas Bregoo 28 Y/O Attacking Midfielder of OAS Royal FC (COS) Image

The Rulandese born but Guayabalense by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia and Sebastián Núñez, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team in the sense that he is a real motivator into the team, if La Selecta is losing, this is the motivating mind into the team, he considers that there is nothing impossible and there is no invincible team for him, so, Bregoo is a player that is difficult to see him overwhelmed by circumstances or another kind of situations, apart that he is the main passer of the team, a good amount of chances are generated from his passes, a key for Alianza FC success in the last couple of years and a Bastion for OAS Royal FC

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 29 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Pradera FC (VLD) Image

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of the Apoxian team of Wye United. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders when the rival keeps pushing, taking advantage of his size, Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad is the main characteristic of Saucedo, acts sometimes as a winger when needed but his role is mostly being a box-to-box midfielder and keep pushing while attacking, Saucedo is as James Moreira in terms of behavior into the pitch, aggressive players with some temperamental problems while playing, but not as Moreira though, Saucedo can be a pain on the rival manager's head as his actions are quite unpredictable, especially while attacking, as he is ambidextrous he can shoot from wherever he can, so, he is a main threat for the rival.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 33 Y/O, Left Striker of Real Azuris (COS) Image

One of the top scorers of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, being a damn fast player is what turns him into a dangerous player while attacking, if the defense kicks a ball, it's going to him for sure, as he has a superb control and technique with the ball, Fraser is dangerous for the rival and not only in La Selecta, also in Real Azuris, in the Cosumarite Harlighet Ligan where he unleashes what he likes to do, goals, goals and more goals, something noteworthy from Fraser is his ability to assist in goals, Fraser is extremely good at collective plays, he usually dribbles the defenders and then just serves the ball to the striker or another player near him to score, a pretty smart player that makes stats talking wonders about him.

Teitur Vaarisiemi 24 Y/O, Right Striker of Metropolis Alligators (VLD) Image

Dubbed by many pundits and fans as “wonder kid” Teitur is one of the quite surprising talents that you could find, taking in consideration his background, from being overweight while he was fifteen, with great scores at his school to be a potential world-class player only seven years after and keeping his Electrical Engineering studies at the same time in distance, Teitur has what it is needed to become some sort of replacement of Zelaya, he has the dribble, the speed and a pretty surprising ability to play, he’s sort of a brain while playing, he excels on being smart while playing, a player that does a lot for the team, has a great sense of collectiveness and a talent to score goals. In two years into the Valladar Liga 1, he has emerged by scoring at least 20 goals per season, and reached 28 in the last one and scoring five goals with La Selecta in four appearances. Emerging fast, noisy but with a low profile, Teitur has a bright future both professionally and sport wise and don’t be surprised to see him at the élite in a decade or way less.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 33 Y/O Striker of 1830 Cathair (AUD)Image

Considered by much the best player in San José Guayabal and one of the best footballers currently playing in the multiverse, Zelaya is the leader and star of the NT, this iconic player has anything to demonstrate that he is the ultimate threat for the rival, a good player at aerial game, good shooting, fast and strong and smart, what more can be asked from him? In resume he is a complete player, a crack. Since child, he has promised a lot and he turned it into reality, won a good amount of titles with Alianza FC, being one of the top scorers in Guayabalense Liga Premier, winning three times in a row the Divisjon 1 with Northbrook Diamonds in Polar Islandstates, being one of the top scorers of the team and also winning one LigAnaia and one Champions' Cup with his current team 1830 Cathair, he has won a lot but he wants to win the World Cup with La Selecta before retiring of football as he said several times before, he had it close on WC 74 but he failed the key penalty, despite that, he was, he is and he will be the crackwho makes the difference.

Specialities: Free kick.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva.

Travel

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and affiliation to the Church of Saint Joseph (National Church) dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Food & Etiquette

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, varying per region, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course. Where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their food, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Passion for football in San José Guayabal is usual, the fanbase across the nation is huge and the level of involvement of citizens among a professional, semi-pro or amateur teams is really high, according to a census made in 2211, people tends to designate at least five hours per week to watch football or get involved into football-related activities, especially with youth development, which has taken strength across the nation. No matter the location, you’ll always find a football pitch in San José Guayabal that might be close to your home, to the point of having the same presence than other establishments such as schools or libraries, it’s some sort of religion for some people, hence Guayabalenses can be exasperated quickly if you talk badly about Guayabalense football overall, or if you attack their preferred team in the wrong moment.

Discuss and be contrary to any Guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of C$1,000 Coronas (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra” or "hooligan firm"), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

Spanish Long Version - For Formal Acts and/or Ceremonies

¡Despierta, Guayabalense, del sueño de la muerte
en el que te sumieron los tiranos!
Ahora o nunca, fórjate otro destino
ante el cual se inclinen tus enemigos.

Ahora o nunca

Awaken thee, Guayabalense! wake up from deadly slumber
The scourge of inauspicious tyrannies
And now or never to a bright horizon clamber

That in these veins still flows Guayabalense blood
And in our hearts for ever we glorify a name
Triumphant in battles, the name of Ramírez.

Behold, imperial shadows, Barbosa, Hernández, Suárez

Try to ride an opponent player: Leonardo Conavacio, Hazel Van Robben, Georges-Kevin Porsan-Thauvin and GHM3
Bite: Leonardo Conavacio, Xavier Hertel Hazel Van Robben and GHM3 are that fantastic four of dangerous players. They love biting your players and isn't afraid to try whenever he can, and are currently the most infamous players in multiverse when it comes to his antics.

Smoke marijuana wherever they're not playing: Angelo Gelinas, Hazel Van Robben, Hye Min Jeong, Georges-Kevin Porsan-Thauvin, Lorne Dunford, Man Jin Kang, GHM3, Marcos Zelaya, Ondrej Cech, Pascal Park, Julian Kim. Unfortunately Chocera's not a stoner :/
Elicit marriage proposals from fans: Leonardo Conavacio. He's married and with a son, but is still considered by many Quebecois as the sexiest Quebecois football player to grace the turf, since Beauchemin's youthful days.....his off-turf personality (a devoted lover and son) is certainly a bonus as well. He's taken, kids. Shoo!

Kaboomlandia Phoenix National Association Football Team

Image

The Phoenix, after five cycles of driving their opponents up the wall with stifling defensive play, have finally let go of the dreaded 1-8-1 offside trap and decided to play some offense for once. While the fundamental part of the offside trap remains with one defender back, they've moved nine players up above the centre line to trap the opponents in their own end.

Nickname: Phoenix
Rank: 45th (15.11 KPB points)
Head Coach: Tom Burns
Assistant Coach: Jonathan Stewart
Stadium: King Wulfric II Royal Stadium (75,600)
Formation: 1-5-4
Style Modifier: -2.0

Starters:
GK: #1 Duncan McEachern, Age 25, 6'2", 200 lbs
The only superstar on the team, McEachern is an extremely athletic goaltender who has the capability to steal games by himself for the Phoenix when he needs to.

Defense:
#8 Marco Ciliano, Age 28, 5'8", 175 lbs
Ciliano is a solid if unspectacular defender for Galturin FC. Ciliano fulfils the "1" in the 4-5-1.
#4 Bill Young, Age 19, 6'6", 214
The big man on the back end can play defense, but he's no slouch above the centre line, either.
#3 Darren Cracknell, Age 22, 6'3", 214 lbs
Cracknell is a giant defender for Kolra Royale. He's very difficult to get past.

Midfield:
#72 Casey Harris. Age 2455'9", 191 lbs
A newcomer to the team, plays for defensive specialist White in Kolra.
#5 Ben Bradbury, Age 25, 5'10", 193 lbs
Bradbury is a decent offensive midfielder, but in Coach White's stifling defensive system, how will he fit in?
#18 Gillian Lapointe, Age 22, 5'6", 154 lbs
One of only two women with a starting position on this team, and the only one to play in a foreign league (Abanhfleft), Lapointe is quick, but is dwarfed by her teammates.
#2 Jared Kessler, Age 25, 5'8", 182 lbs
Kessler is the second-smallest man on the team, at only 5'8", 182 lbs. He plays well in White's defensive system.

Forwards:
#17 Rene Allard, Age 22, 6'2", 197 lbs
The tall forward is the Phoenix' only good scorer, and so he is the only offensive player in Ryan White's system.
#20 Tanner Libin, Age 26, 6'1", 185 lbs
Tanner Libin is a very defensive forward. Coaches like him because of his staunch defensive skills.
#23 Diana Libin, Age 21, 5'6", 143 lbs
The sister of Tanner, Diana is the smallest player on the team, as well as the youngest. She is also a defensive forward.

Reserves:
GK:
#16 Aaron Ryerson, Age 28, 6'1", 178 lbs
Ryerson is a strong backup goalie, but don't expect him to play at all unless McEachern lets in ten goals in a game or gets hurt.

Defense:
#30 Sarah Jenson, Age 26, 5'7", 160 lbs
Jenson is the third woman on the team, and the oldest of the three.

Midfield:
#43 Jim Wright, Age 29, 5'11", 180 lbs
Wright was named to this team for his character and ability to come in and work hard.

Forward:
#19 Carter Johnson, Age 24, 6'1", 200 lbs
Johnson replaces the retired Cody Dillinger.

Playing Style:

The Phoenix prefer to play a "wedge" style, where the team likes to have nine players above the centre line in a 1-5-4 formation to force turnovers and one defender, Ciliano, back to force offside calls if the ball does get out. Opposing teams will much enjoy the phasing out of the infuriating 1-8-1 strategy.

Stadium:

King Wulfric II Royal Stadium was constructed after the October 2015 rise to power of King Wulfric II. This massive 75,600-seat stadium hosted Phoenix home games during World Cup 75.

Tinhampton National Team - Official Lineup
Note: Because Tinhampton has no official national football team, and due to Tinhampton City's first team having league commitments, avid fan Mayor Lydia Anderson has authorised the placement of Tinhampton City's reserves as the official national team. As not enough players that were fit and willing could be found (obviously), various staff members and lucky season ticket holders have also been called up.

Goalkeepers:
1 -- Josh Smith (TCFC reserve)
12 -- Euan Terry (lucky fan)
23 -- Amanda Steer (TCFC dinnerlady)

Defenders:
2 -- William Potter (TCFC reserve)
3 -- Simon Phillips (lucky fan, former AM between 2007-2015)
4 -- Andy Daniels (TCFC janitor)
5 -- Peter Wright (lucky fan)
13 -- Harry Porter (TCFC reserve)
14 -- Liam Rhodes (lucky fan, despite losing half his money on gambling in the past 6 months)
15 -- Jamie Valley (lucky fan)
16 -- Prof. Owen Turner (maths professor at Tinhampton University that we called up after our previous lucky fan was killed by a jealous neighbour)

Midfielders:
6 -- Michael Young (TCFC reserve)
7 -- Ian Jones (TCFC accountant; player-manager appointed at the last minute after the previously-announced one lost his passport)
8 -- James Wright (lucky fan; no relation to Peter)
9 -- Samantha Jackson (TCFC surgeon, until she gets replaced on 1 March)
17 -- Mohamed al-Khazr (lucky fan)
18 -- Fred Ball (TCFC reserve)
19 -- Steve Cameron (lucky fan; coincidentally, had retired from TCFC in July 2016)

Strikers:
10 -- Priscilla Evans (lucky fan)
11 -- Ian Graham (TCFC reserve)
20 -- Simon Wood (TCFC U10s coach; Simon's job in the meanwhile will be taken over by our first team manager)
21 -- Reece Ford (lucky fan)
22 -- Ben Williamson (TCFC reserve; set to retire in three months)

STADIUM: With Tin Park (capacity 6,000 seated) out of action for first-team play, the squad has instead been forced onto the football pitch of a small local football team, the Westpark Guns (capacity 200, mostly seated). Ryan's Garage Stadium is widely tipped to be crowned victor of the Worst Stadium in World Football award.

Style Modifier: -3

Qasden @ WC77 Qualifiers
Image

Last cycle, the NT of Qasden got the chance to strut their stuff for the rust time in the nation's history at the 63rd Baptism of Fire in Red Blackiland and Flardania. After tremendous effort, they had achieved fourth place, a pleasantly unpleasant finish to their only appearance in the tournament. After the strong start, they faced big names like Turori, Schottia, and Eshan in the 76 qualifiers. Despite a disappointing 5th place finish, they were invited to partake in the 68th Cup of Harmony, a feat that brought them to the round of 16 where the lost to Anglatia.

Coming of a heartbreakingly terrible performance in AOCAF 52, the Vans look to redeem themselves as their fans help them to victory. Can Qasden rebound from such a travesty? Will Coach Merritt be seeking unemployment after this cycle? Could TQ reach Quebec and SJG? Tune in to find out our true destiny at the World Cup 77 Qualifiers!

Here is the Gregoryisgodistan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Head Coach: Secret Police Agent Dominic Button
Assistant Coaches: Slave Beater 8AUSUJA and Horse Beater LOICHESDRACKX394EUD

Gregoryisgodistani names have the title first, which is usually whatever job they have. Then comes either the government ID sequence (for commoners) or the name (for government VIP's.) If that is the same, they are the same person even if the title is different. However, government VIPs can change their name whenever they want.

All players play domestically in the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League except as noted. Only government VIPs are permitted to play club soccer outside Gregoryisgodistan. All clubs are accurate as of the last UICA cycle.

Lineup:

GK Prune Farmer 3818F - Prune Farmers FC (Age 22)
DL Police Agent Jorge Warlord - FC 17 June (Age 29)
DC Enemy Crusher Fatty Footy - AC Enemy Crushers (Age 24)
DC Prune Farmer HUXU88238ASF - Prune Farmers FC (Age 25)
DR Slave Catcher I913AFBSBFI239 - Police Squad (Age 27)
DMC History Teacher CZDE9745 - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 26)
ML Soldier 0EDCK13DHI - Military FC (Age 25)
MR Prune Farmer 913881 - FC 17 June (Age 33)
OMC Guy Who Cleans Up Behind The Elephant at the Circus P0120AZNNAU - FC 17 June (Age 24) (A)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Xylocrap Notatypo - FC 17 June (Age 20)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death to San Jose Guayabal -Winnipeg United (Quebec) (Age 30) (C)

Bench:

GK TV Repairman 99SFIDSF - November 5 SC (Age 21)
GK Youth IKDUCHALAD - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 16)
DL/DC Xylocarp Smasher XILE42 - FC 17 June (Age 18)
DC Prune Farmer LISHERWIZE - Prune Farmers FC (Age 21)
DC Police Officer YSHERKOW91239 - Police Squad (Age 27)
DR Slave Beater YUSEAXA - FC 17 June (Age 24)
ML Hacker Fred'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- - Rouyn-Noranda Coal Diggers FC (Quebec) (Age 26)
ML/MR Pervert Chaser KIS9DLLMZMAABDB - Missile Minders (Age 30)
MC/OMC/DMC Slave Beater SUAXMC91 - FC 17 June (Age 26)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe - Real Campo Grande (Valladares) (Age 27)
FW Loyal Youth Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death To Dumpy O'Rumpy And His Spectacularly Hideous Hair (Age 17)

Notes: Soccer Captain Laredo Potato has retired from the national team. ... Youth IKDUCHALAD is the youngest player ever to be named to a Gregoryisgodistani senior squad, but as the third-string goalkeeper, it is unlikely he will ever play. Indeed, behind two young goalkeepers on the depth chart, he may never play.... Youth XILE42 has been selected to the new title of Xylocarp Smasher now that he is an adult. He smashes xylocarps/coconuts, especially the sapient ones ... Soldier 0EDCK13DHI is one of two members of Military FC not to be killed in the Great War, mainly because he was playing with the national team.... As part of an effort to have all citizens identify with Lord Almighty Gregory, the Gregoryisgodistani government eliminated birthdays except for Lord Almighty Gregory's, and all citizens saw their ages increase on June 1, the Gregoryisgodistani New Year. Lord Almighty Gregory's Birthday is June 17. All citizens must give him a present.

OOC: If you don't get the hacker reference, see this comic. If you still don't get it, entering that name as a database input in certain programming languages will delete all the rosters from the file. Feel free to RP this crashing your computers or something like that.

Uniforms (by Libertad Sportswear):
Image

From left to right, our home kit, our away kit, and our third kit (in case of clash.)

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, the newly rebuilt national stadium in Capital District. It was rebuilt following the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a false flag by Gregoryisgodistan's government) and seats 175,617. It is a guaranteed sellout for every game since people will be forced to attend if it does not sell out.

Image

These crimes are punishable by death in Gregoryisgodistan. While we are somewhat more lenient for foreigners, if you flagrantly violate them while in Gregoryisgodistan you will be punished severely. Probably fatally. So don't do it. As an example of what is flagrant and what isn't, farting quietly or privately will be overlooked if you are a foreigner, but holding a "Who can have the smelliest fart" contest in public will get all the farters executed.

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post. And don't flagrantly violate the laws of Gregoryisgodistan while in Gregoryisgodistan and expect to get away with it. Taunting us with chants of "coconut" or shirtless fans while we are playing away or at neutral sites is fine and encouraged, but if you try it in Gregoryisgodistan, those fans are probably going to die. Painfully. Which is fine by me if it’s OK with you. TG me if you have questions as to what is flagrant and what isn’t. Also, no completely unrealistic scoring events such as 80 meter goals.
Gregoryisgodistan, population 75,000,000. All citizens are required to worship Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state, as a deity.

'Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.' (II Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV)

Home Away

Manager
Côfcarthor Undorina
Age: 1286
After falling quite short of expectations in the first cycle as the manager of the Marauders, Undorina has very little in the way of wiggle room if he wishes to see out his full three cycle contract. For the Marauders not to have made the knockouts last cycle is simply not acceptable for the side and Undorina knows this, which might see the manager look to spring some surprise tactics on the opposition.

Assistant Manager
Parnornede Haedhen
Age: 1180
Partnering Undorina is Haedhen, who looks to be another technical minded manager who likes to continue the tradition of the technical attacking play that is both beautiful to watch but also quite efficient in dealing with a variety of opponents.

Keeper

1 Aediron Galadirdren, Ibini FC
Age - 689
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 174 lbs
Galadirdren looks to be the long term solution for the Marauders in net after several stellar seasons in the domestic scene with Ibini FC. While not loud and "in control" of his box, the keeper is very good when the opposition has a breakaway, as well as some amazing reflexes. His best attribute though is his near perfect position, always seeming to know where the opposition is going to place their shots or crosses.

Defenders

2 Morlaithan Aldamiel, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 702
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 162 lbs
A tough and quiet sort at the back, more physical than your usual Vanorian centerback thanks to the years that he has played in Audioslavia. More of a stay at home defender than the rest of the backline and more prone the occasional card due to the more physical nature.

3 Rainyardil Toraandal, Avenida Principal Image
Age - 661
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 168 lbs
Toraandal is deceptively fast and agile for a person of his size and also very keen to get in on the attack during prolonged spells in the opponents third. With his size and pure athletic ability, he has a knack for getting open in the box and heading home his fair share of goals, though it is his stern defending that is the reason that he was put on to the starting eleven.

4 Revhil Lardireil, Hondo FC
Age - 660
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Like Toraandal, Lardireil is used to getting into the attack, having spent the majority of his career at Hondo with their attacking flavor. However he has the speed of a cheetah and the strength of an elephant, most likely the most versatile of the three defenders that the side uses.

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, 1830 Cathair Image
Age: 765
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than five countries clubs. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Caeltimyonan Haerear, Mar Sara FC
Age - 620
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 163 lbs
Coming from Mar Sara you would expect Haerear to be more of an attacking option, yet the midfielder is more of a box to box playmaker than the attacking midfielders usually coming from the Flames. Not overly fast or physical but Haerear has a motor that never quits, never giving up on a play or a game despite how dire the situation may be.

10 Laborious Hawk, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 729
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

8 Ilglerdiriel Lithvathar, Raynor City United
Age - 735
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 149 lbs
Lithvathar is much like va Drake, a floater who is dynamic in attack but with enough speed and sense of the pitch to make up on any sort of defensive lapse. Yet unlike her flankmate, she is not nearly as skilled, but do not let that fool you, in a moment of magic she can undress an entire backline and set up more prolific scorers with easy chances.

7 Faeron Soldarian, 1830 Cathair Image
Age - 643
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 518
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco continues to lead the line of the attack, being the tip of the spear that is the Marauders offensive movement. By now most teams know of the striker's pace and near laser guided shot, however the striker still somehow finds ways to bring in the goals.

11 Galasgoldas Tathtauré, OAS Royal FC Image
Age - 600
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 157 lbs
A more finesse striker than what Fresco is used to being paired with, Tathtauré has the speed to run past opponents with plenty of dribbling skill to work around multiple defenders. While not as strong as Celetholtinu was, Galasgoldas can still play a hold up role in a pinch.

Subs

MANAGERIAL STAFF
Manager: Lysander Ying Uing

Assistant Manager: Peter Wiggin
Peter Wiggin continues to be the day to day coach of the team and will be a big part of the future of the national team coaches.

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Xavier Troubador - Fadron Flight 76 Caps, 30 Years Old
Xavier Troubador has done everything in his national team career except for qualify for a world cup and hopefully for him he gets to in the next year or so. He has not announced his retirement from international play but many think he may be on the cusp of it. That said you never know.

12 - Jillian Montague - Real Atlantea 2 Caps, 23 Years Old
Jillian Montauge could see the field a few times this season getting spot starts. Although Xavier Troubadour has not announced his retirement from international play it does seem likely that he could do that. She is the heir to that position and will likely be worked in to a few of the lower pressed games this season.

24 - Gregoire Avery - New Capetown Falcons 1 Cap, 26 Years Old
Gregoire Avery had a strong campaign and was a big reason New Capetown finish just outside of the international spots in the last season. He once again seems unlikely to see any action this season and likely will only see the field once or twice again in his international career.

DEFENDERS

2 - LB, Gordon Bombay – Real Atlantea 51 Caps, 30 Years Old
Gordon Bombay is no longer the fleet footed wingback he once was. He still is the main attacking fullback for the side but he continues to look less and less like the speedster he once was. This is definitely his last turn around the team as his form really makes it look like he wont be apart of the team moving forward.

3 - CB, Andrew Chesnut - Los Riosa Monstas 89 Caps, 2 Goals, 30 Years OldVice-Captain
Andrew Chesnut will be back after these qualifiers as he wishes to captain the team for one tournament. After captaining Los Riosa to a second Erste Liga title he may be looking to be a big part of another successful return to prime time with his nation.

4 - CB, Jefferson Lafitte - 1093 Club de Atlantea 26 Caps, 28 Years Old
Not to long ago Jefferson Lafitte was a bright eyed and bushy tailed young center back but now he is one of the savviest veterans on the national team and a big reason Taeshan continues to have one of the most feared defenses in the world. His club form continues to be strong and many believe he can be a part of the 1093 side that makes it three clubs from Atlantea with championships.

5 - RB, Moki Nguyen – Atlantea Hurricanes 52 Caps, 29 Years Old
Moki Nguyen has announced that this should be his last season with the national team, but rumblings recently have brought to light the fact that he may in fact be moving forward to take the CDM spot or to the left back position to make room for Alexander Kaiba. He seems to have aged better than most of the players on the team and it wouldn't be too surprising to see him return next season.

14- Alexander Kaiba - Real Atlantea 10 Caps, 23 Years Old
Alexander Kaiba is a strong wingback type player and is the heir apparent to the Right back position. He will take over the spot after the qualifiers from Moki Nguyen. Besides rumblings that Nguyen may stay around and move somewhere else he is also the reason behind a late season resurgence from Real Atlantea helping get their attack back on track.

21 – Torsten Abigail – Tintown Terrapins 5 Caps, 23 Years Old
Torsten Abigail was a big reason that the defense of the Tintown Terrapins has for the most part looked very strong over the past few seasons. The hulking center back is a big part of the future of the national team and will likely take hold of the center back spot from Andrew Chesnut after he retires after the next world cup.

23- Ford Cancun - Real Chinchinhua 2 Caps, 22 Years Old
Ford Cancun was a big part of the season for Real Chinchinhua as an anchor in the center back position for their defense. That said he could have done better for them and could have made himself the first center back option on the bench, but honestly didn't do enough over the course of the season to supplant Torsten Abigail.

MIDFIELDERS

6 - CDM, Maxwell McMichael - Knightspurs 74 Caps, 1 Goal, 32 Years Old Captain
Maxwell McMichael is the third of four players that announced their retirement after this campaign, but the longtime national team captain hopes to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in his career, to do that he will have to play much better than he has in recent years for his club side.

9- LM, Everett Eskandarian – Llara Llera (San Llera) 40 Caps, 3 Goals, 30 Years Old
Only days before he arrived at national team camp for the upcoming qualifiers Eskandarian announced that this would be his last time around with the national team as he plan on retiring after the upcoming qualifiers. The left footed winger will likely be a big part of the upcoming campaign but may see a lot more of the bench as younger players are cycled onto the field.

10- CAM, Enrique Fuegahita – Real Chinchinhua 25 Caps, 3 Goals, 22 Years Old
10th place was not exactly what Enrique and his teammates would have expected at Real Chinchinhua but the attacking midfielder was perhaps the brightest spot for the side scoring 10 times, with 15 assists. Hopefully his club form can continue for the national team as he will likely be asked to play up behind the strikers as as a big part of the Knights attack.

11 - RM, Anton Vader - Hannah 36 Caps, 1 Goal, 27 Years Old
Anton Vader continues to be one of the only strong points about the side Hannah has entered in the last few premier league seasons. Many wonder why he continues to play for them when he likely could do better and earn more for a bigger club, that said he is still a great option for the national team and will likely continue to start for the next few years.

15 – Janson Jewsbury – Bayern-Algaer 0 Caps, 21 Years Old
Janson Jewsbury is one of the newest additions to the national team and was unable to see the field in the Copa Rushmori but was another big part of the 2nd place finish in the last premier league season from Bayern-Algaer. He is another fast bench option, and plays the opposite side of the field of Elton Petersheim.

17- Elton Petersheim – Bayern-Algaer 18 Caps, 1 Goal 22 Years Old
Elton Petersheim was a big part of the 2nd place finish for Bayern-Algaer as they won the 2nd place position on the last day of the season and earned a spot in the Champions' Cup. the left footed playmaker seems likely to see the field in late games where the team needs to score, and needs a change of pace in the attack.

18 – Ensign Petersheim – New Capetown Falcons 18 Caps, 1 Goal, 22 Years Old
The second Petersheim brother proved a big part of the success of New Capetown in the last season helping them to a sixth place finish only a point out of a return to international play for the side. The defensive midfielder will likely see some gametime this year as a late game sub to kill the ball and keep opponents from having success in the attack.

20 – Tavon Greenshire- New Capetown Falcons - 8 Caps, 22 Years Old
New Capetown was the closest it has been to the top of the division in a long time and much of that was due to its midfield play. One of those shining examples was Tavon Greenshire who was a strong wide midfield player throughout the season. His combination with Ensign Petersheim likely had Taeshan fans salivating throughout the season.

19 – Wilhelm Quinones - Yaton FC 5 Caps, 21 Years Old
Wilhelm Quinones was a big part of the success of the Yaton squad throughout much of the last season and his play earned him a league All Star nod and a big fat bonus check. While the end of the season was much less than he had hoped for he proved throughout the year to be one of the best midfielders in the nation.

23 – Alejandro Caracas - Atlantea Hurricanes 2 Caps, 23 Years Old
Alejandro Caracas had an improved season for Atlantea Hurricanes being a part of an overall not impressive looking side. That said for his own part he managed to do well enough throughout the season to get a second team all league mention.

STRIKERS

7 - RS, Landon van Neymar – Blacklake Blues 72 Caps, 14 Goals, 28 Years Old
The speedy side of the striking corps had one goal in the 5 match Copa Rushmori campaign, and honestly looked somewhat lost and slightly out of form in that tournament. Hist 20 goals for Blacklake Blues was 2nd in the league but he alone was not enough to keep the Blues off the bottom half of the table.

8 - LS, Miles Snavely – Cenial United (Ceni) 76 Caps, 54 Goals, 26 Years Old
Miles Snavely added 4 goals in the Copa Rushmori which puts him 6th all time in Taeshani history. He moved past Hele with his most recent goal and now sets his eyes on Xander McDrew to make the top 5, with Gwyn Juniper, Tyler Pantoum and Ender Wiggin's goal totals well within range during this qualifying campaign. 11 goals and he can surpass all four of them and move to third all time.

13 – Jon Hutch – Atlantea Hurricanes 9 Caps, 2 Goals, 24 Years Old
Jon Hutch was able to get 12 goals for his team in the last season, but was part of a pretty lackluster year overall for Atlantea Hurricanes. He scored one goal in the Copa Rushmori but for the most part was not a factor in the success of the team at the tournament.

16 – Gordie von Houten – Real Atlantea 10 Caps, 1 Goal, 25 Years Old
Gordie had an interesting last season with his Atlantean side finishing in fifth place in the Premier League. He had 15 goals on the season and had a great effort overall throughout the year. He is hoping to have an impact on the upcoming qualifying campaign after another solid year for the Shepherds.

Introduction/Story So Far
Flardania/Kirishima National Football Team also known as the Kitsunes are Flardania's best soccer players. Football is the national sport of Kirishima (Flardania) and the Kitsunes help showcase the KONAMI Premier League . After years of playing domestic play and tragically missing BOF 56 and BOF 57. Kirishima would later enter Baptism of Fire 58 and after just barely exiting the Group stage, Kirishima as the bottom #16 Seed upset #1 Seed San Llera and defeated Maretta to reach the semi-finals. The Kitsunes unfortunately finished fourth and bitter fans refer to the top 3 teams as the "Puppet Show".

Kirishinan expectations were much smaller going into the WC 71 and look to at least qualify for the main cup. The Kitsunes looked like they were contenders early on but struggled as they were in a really difficult Group mixed with Kirishima playing too balanced a game against the high-powered offense while lacking enough offense to dismantle defensive disciplined teams. Kirishima would have a mediocre showing in the Cup of Harmony with the only notable news being the historic upset against Cosumar.

The Kitsunes then went into World Cup 72 with a miserable first half that had Kyosuke on the hot seat until they turned things around and finished 4th in the group, thus giving Hikaru the rank boost he sought. Kirishima then entered into WC 73 with the main objective being finishing at least mid table and entering COH with stronger momentum. The Kitsunes failed to finish midtable (4th) and enter the COH because they shockingly finished 2nd, a feat only predicted by the media in Saintland and won their playoff game to advance to the world cup proper for the first time. The Kitsunes Rank increased by 45, thus leapfrogging the team from 86 to 41 a reflection of the fast rise of the young Kitsune team.

World Cup 74 saw the addition of a new player, Konami Premier League Rookie of the Year Akiho Ubukata. The Kitsune sought to qualify to their second ever World Cup in back to back editions were a tight group and a heartbreaking loss on MD 1 and MD 13 made it seem that the Kitsunes may have to test their luck in the playoffs. The thought impossible unranked Union of American Democrats draw with 14th ranked Turori sent the Kitsunes a heart attack preventing instant qualification where as usual like previous WC and COH the Kitsune upset the strongest team in the group while getting dismantled by everyone else.

With a Historic World Cup 75 , Kirishima sought to 1) Qualify a third time and not miss out on a memorable cup 2) Try and finally Reach round of 16. With the Kitsunes ranked in the 20's and a group draw going according to plan it seemed like that history would be made, and made it was. The Kitsunes had multiple chances they lost due to draws against lowly teams. Emerging from the ashes of the Kitsunes failed campaign is a new rival. One unlike never before seen gone are the days of friendly rivalries with Devonta and in comes a rivalry with Nordeana and of bad blood and hatred for reserved for Anglatia. Not only did they rob the Kitsunes of a playoff berth, they did it in an insulting manner. Gone is the era of Kyosuke as manager, the inexperience fairy tale story of a civilian interim manager with zero experience who brought the Kitsunes to lightning success in qualifying. His failure in being unable to reach a Round of 16 outside of BOF 58 lead to his voluntary and unwanted departure. A World Cup 75 qualifiers that saw once star mid-fielder Seong Mi Soo retire at the end of qualifiers become the new manager leading up to COH 67. With the nation seeking the major tournament Round Of 16 spot the nation so desperately wanted she proved the Kitsunes were not cursed, as she brought the team to the quarterfinals.

With her WCQ debut in World Cup 76 the Kitsunes found themselves at the top of the Group with two upsets against Quebec but round up in a Group of death, not only failing to exit to group stages yet again but for the first time also failing to pick up a point. With the 1st edition of the Independents Cup the Kitsunes had a firm objective of winning silverware and came close to being in a position to do so before falling to Barunia in the quarterfinals. With a majority of the team about to enter their primes the KFA finally has a firm objective and with this cup Kirishima seeks to not only qualify for the World Cup but to escape the group stages for the first time.

Kirishima, as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West, is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima means literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an archipelago comprising of 1,721 islands. They can be divided into seven large and major islands - Hontō, Zipangu, Yamatai, Reijima, Kiyomisu, Iroshima, and Yajiriguni. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and some refugees Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D. These people mixed with Japanese who already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior, along as local Asiatic peoples. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the french won one of their few theater conflicts in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.

Kirishima despite having an Asian majority population, has a decent sized European, African, Arabic minority. The nation is proud of it's very welcoming and tolerant attitude despite how it looks. It is a moderate nation that can be very liberal on some issues and conservative on others. A very important piece of information is the prohibition of smoking tobacco. Kirishinan people believe in a clean body and clean environment even before the world found out about those issues. One may be caught off guard by how clean of litter the cities and metro systems tend to be.

Hyuga is the only city in the island prefecture of Yamatai and is where the most devout Lake Shorian’s dwell. Men and Women from Yamatai are notably known for being very frisky and Nymphomanic, so much so that tourist would need to put a lot of effort to resist the charms of Yamatain. While it's not as noticable in the city, it is still a distinct part of the nation. Mori Park hosts a Globe Cup regular in Hyuga Valkyrie FC and being is a modern stadium of substantial size, perfect to host marquee matches.

During BOF 63 the inclusion of Hyuga for the Baptism of Fire was heavily debated. The reason is for better or worse (depending on who you ask) the rest of the island of Yamatai is on a whole other level in terms of friskiness. There had been foreigners who gone missing in the lush forests with many refusing to return to civilization. However with that said it wouldn’t really be a showcase of Kirishinan culture without the inclusion of Hyuga and its prefecture and the government rather inform more prudish nations rather than not host matches at Mori Park. With the success of BOF 63 the KFA has decided to permanently make it a staple stadia for World Cup Qualifiers.

Staff Bio

Seong Mi-Soo Age · 29

This is Seong Mi-Soo's first time coaching. She has played on the national team from World Fair III and BOF 58 until World Cup 75 qualifiers. She is a midfield with high sports IQ and spent a majority of her time observing former manager Hikaru Kyosuke . She like Kyosuke believes that Kirishima should remain an offensive minded team as that what Kirishinans love about the game but the question has always been how offensive should they be. Mi-Soo believes Kyosuke was on the right track but decided to be a twinge more defensive that Kyosuke as to limit the counter attack capabilities of very defensive minded teams.

Makoto Kikuchi Age · 26

Makoto is known as many things a boy? a girl? a miracle worker? Multi-Talented? Nevertheless she has grown up around sports and has always loved it. While attending school she participated in football, Track and Field, swimming, basketball, and cycling. She also was discovered for her musical talents she eventually had to choose what she wanted to do with her life and she chose sports and music. During the offseason, Makoto can be seen in dresses performing on stage or seen in swimwear photo shoots but during football seasons she dons a suit and takes to the field as Manager of the Akihabara Electronic OFC. The two different Makoto Kikuchi. In only her first three seasons she managed to build a solid roster and lead the Electric to their first and second ever title in her first two seasons all while keeping the Electric contenders into the present.

Myeong Hyeon Yi Age · 23

Yes the KFA has provided information on the trainer/team doctor. Why do you ask? Because she is the team doctor and since she is part of the team, plays a role in the outcome of matches. With that said there is not much about her to say besides noting she is the team doctor of Akihabara Electronic OFC which is important as the doctor helps prevent injuries and make sure those injured return to field asap. Something needed in such a competitive domestic league.

Starting XI Bio

Miyoko Hōjō Age · 23

If you live in Kirishima you know her, if you watch Kirishinan games you know her, if you have ever faced against Kirishima you know her. Miyoko Hojo is a former culinary student specializing in Chinese Cuisine. As an athletic individual, she was noticed by both basketball and shockingly football scouts for her potential, height and vertical. She decided to give football a try as it had a more flexible scheduled and less chance for injury. The rest was history as she has helped led the Kitsunes to World Cup Qualifications in each of her first three World Cup experiences as well as keeping Olympique Imgeum-Si as a serious contender domestically. The scary thing for the opposition is her natural ability makes her a top goalkeeper. How much more of a threat will she be when she truly understands the game.

Eizan Iwamoto Age · 21

Young like the rest of the team but unlike them has the position with the least job security. Iwamoto is a former rookie of the year with some pretty big shoes to fill in the historic weak position. Eizan is opportunistic and calculating. Facing off against him can leave opposition dazed and confused. Eizan who sat on the bench last cup cycle will be put through a trial by fire and it remains to be seen if he can heal the Kirishinan Achilles heel.

Claire Nguyen Age · 24

Young, beautiful and relatively unknown until quite recently. Claire used to be just another defender on the Akihabara Electronic OFC when in one off season she gained a new manager in Makoto Kikuchi and two new players/eventual best friends Joseph Yabuta and Ayame Fujisaka. Nevertheless, the talented that surrounded her raised her game and she took the league by storm. She is quick, precise, and currently known as the slide tackle queen of Kirishima. The one question that is wondered is will she still be as motivated if she played for someone other than Kikuchi or her two BFF? Nevertheless thankfully for her as well as the fans, do not need to find out as her two best friends are also national team material.

Ayame Fujisaka Age · 23

Speaking of Claire's best friends, Ayame Fujisaka at just the age of 21 became the brains of the national team. Despite his age, he now had enough experience to be the captain of the squad, a fact that many Kirishinans have known for a long while. Yes, I said he no he is not a she as he is not transgender. (What a tongue twister) Ayame is well known for his cross-dressing nature but don't let your guard down around him as on the pitch he is known for his high football IQ. He is so friendly and knows how to motivate and cheer up anyone. The men and women on the team have always look to him even without the armband. You need someone to talk to he is there, your sore and in need of a massage, he is there. He will do literally anything for you to ensure you will play your maximum potential. He is a reason why Claire has gotten so good. If Seong and Kikuchi are the coaches on the sideline then Fujisaka is the coach on the field. A reputation he has proved and established since his debut with Yabuta on the Kairaku Nymphs before they both went to Akihabara. He is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles.

Koharu Miyamoto Age · 22

Koharu is a free spirit both on and off the field whose player type resembles Miyoko Hojo. She is the type that had no prior football experience and was recruited solely based on various intangibles such as speed and stamina in her specific case. A long distance track star in school her father recruited her to play for his Nabaek Sylph a move that had fans stark mad. Sure just a season prior Hojo found success, left back was different from Goalkeeper and many saw it as a parental preference. Koharu worked hard to salvage her father's name and proved herself to consistently be the first name on any teamsheet. If that was not enough, she added goal scoring to her arsenal so any team unprepared may find themselves shocked by the defender who is the most likely to score in a corner or even more shock to see her sneak past a lagging defender, receive an onside through ball and drill in a goal....once again I remind you she is a defender.

Rin Mizoguchi Age · 19

A year younger and teammate of former rookie of the year, as well as current Primer League champion and first time NT starter, Akiho Ubukata. Cup of Harmony 67 saw the teammate replace the other as the starter. He has helped put Hyuga back on the map and like Akiho is a local from Yamatai prefecture. Seong Mi-Soo is looking to re-add some male strength to the midfield position and it's also hard to deny one of the team's goal scorers a spot.

Pandazi Papadopoulos Age · 30

How to summarize Pandazi Papadopoulos? Well, he is one of the only players on the national team to play on the pre-BOF team, he is the oldest player on the team, and currently the only player on the national team to play abroad. Pandazi is an experienced veteran that the team can count on when the rest of the young team is cold. Papadopoulos is a former captain and is good nay talented at getting the ball to the proper areas of the field.

Ako Izumi Age · 23

Ako is an intelligent, opportunistic, and team oriented girl who is the best passer on the team. Her sole purpose in her opinion was to make others look good though her passing. She loves dribbling the ball and feel immense satisfaction after an assist. Ako has become more of a scorer since she left AC Kawajiri Tanuki, while she did not appreciate how Bianka Schraeder from Armeia treated her team, Ako seemed to realize that while the assist was great she had to once in awhile score herself should the opportunity arise. She is a cornerstone of the generation of miracles and a key part of the Ballista with her specialty being goal scoring from free kicks.

Renée Guidice Age · 20

This maybe a bit surprising to some but Renée Guidice has earned a place in the starting rotation over Sayo Matsuoka. Renée is a goal scorer who was eventually eclipsed by Sylvain Gainsborough and Nita Jagr. With her dissatisfaction in the club's direction, Renée joined LB Koharu Miyamoto and Midfielder from Cosumar Li H'sen Lang. Having found a resurgent in her game Guidice was a high impact scorer while Matsuoka's Matthew Mets struggled. Renée will be looking to take advantage of this opportunity. On and off the field Renée is a friendly soul who serves as a role model.

Josuke Ichikawa Age · 22

Josuke is a phenomenal scorer who is often seen as the main rival to Yabuta. Last World Cup qualifiers his Childhood friend since elementary school Sayo Matsuoka took his spot. However, his impact was missed and rather than replace Matsuoka who played well, Ichikawa replaces Nayasaki, thus putting the two Enrika natives at the wings. Josuke has good ball control and has a dangerous cross that can change the flow of any game suddenly. Penalty kicks are his greatest strength and no one is more calm, cool, and collected as he is.

Joseph Yabuta Age · 23

Despite what this humble young man would say, Yabuta is the undisputed star and goal scorer for the Kirishinan national team. Yabuta loves to score and scores he can whether it be left foot, right foot, head, knee, etc. Yabuta plays to have fun and his speed is borderline unfair. In his four-year career, Yabuta has won three championships (1 with Kairaku, 2 with Akihabara). It is safe to assume that if Kirishima scores in a game that Yabuta was behind it. This means he either scored or at least assisted on a goal. That type of consistency is very valuable. Yabuta joins his best friends Ayame and Claire in this year's national team as he remains a crucial cornerstone to the generation of miracles.

Tactic: "The Supported Ballista" 4-3-3 +2.68
Manager Seong is still using Kyosuke tactic at least until the end of Cup of Harmony. She is a bit more focused on counter attacking with her notable defenders Ayame Fujisaka who has a great mind for the game and the tomboy former university track star Koharu Miyamoto whose speed, passing and footwork enables her to get up the field quickly and in the position to opt a pass to a midfielder. However, in this version, Miyamoto does not join in the attack and after making a pass retreats back down the field. Claire Nguyen had a great season with Akihabara and is on the starting line up with teammates Yabuta and fellow center back Fujisaka. With Izumi and Papadopoulos on the field, they can place the ball in great positioning of any of the Kitsunes capable strikers like Yabuta to drill the ball into the net. Also with Yabuta's almost unnatural ability to score of volley's it will become obvious how Yabuta made the Baptism of Fire 58 squad. Guidice and Ichikawa will provide offensive support. Seong Mi-Soo hopes that this will put less pressure on Hojo who can only handle so many counterattacks.

MANAGEMENT

MANAGER
Image Silian Parker, 51
With Lisa Amos leaving Chromatika for San José Guayabal and La Selecta, the reins for the squad fell to Silian Parker, the one who orchestrated one of the most dramatic turnarounds in Chromatik football, turning Pùr Riders from a team headed to relegation to a team hoisting the last season of the League Chromatiks in a span of one season. He is a bit of a offensive mastermind and brilliant lawyer, and is likely to be able to handle the political scrutiny that the team is to be under this cycle after their role in the Rainbow Revolution. The CFF is likely to give him at least two cycles and the tournaments in between to work his magic. After reaching the Semifinals last cycle, it's a given that anything short of a Round of Sixteen appearance would be a major disappointment.

Parker has been dubbed a genius with his personnel choices during the World Cup Qualifying, although the team did concede the top place finish to Red Blackiland in the end. This is now his team, no questions asked.

ASSISTANT MANAGER
Image Didier Jacques, 44
If Silian is the mastermind, Didier is the enforcer. He's the one to stay on top of everyone's training regimen and to make sure that they are following the philosophy of Chromatik football. Well liked and respected among his players at Pùr, it'll be up to him to make sure that he gains the same kind of respect from the national team players. He and Silian work together well in tandem, and it will be interesting to see how things shake out.

PLAYERS

GOALKEEPERS
#1 Nikolai Thorben, Image Matthew Senators Age: 31 Height: 6 ft 11 in Caps: 75 Goals Allowed: 88
#12 Jillian Nier, Image PLI Islanders Age: 24 Height: 6 ft 1 in Caps: 25 Goals Allowed: 26

One of the foremost storylines this qualifying cycle will be the battle for the Starting Keeper position between Jillian Nier and Nikolai Thorben. The student and the master will be matched and given the same amount of chances. Parker is reportedly going to start Nier for the first half and Thorben for the second, and see how the players do, taking into account the effort from other players as well. Nier has always been a bit more instinct-based, and Thorben the more cerebral type. Although age is in Nier's favor, the experience that Thorben commands cannot be undervalued either. Behind them will be Mia Ria as emergency backup and also gaining valuable experience. She was thrust into the spotlight in the losses to San José Guayabal and Unified Sunrise Islands, but honestly she just wasn't ready. Perhaps there's a need to look at the depth of this position league-wide as well, and see if there are others who could challenge Ria for the spot later. For now, though, she's the future for the team.

The Qualifiers saw Nikolai Thorben's two goals conceded in five appearances beat out Jillian's six goals in five. That being said, the two of them will both be ready to go. Mia Ria had a great cycle as well, but she won't be making the trip, as Parker has deemed it more important to take other players.

RIGHT BACKS
#2 Erika Morningstar, Image Barrio El Niño Age: 27 Height: 6 ft Caps: 77 Goals: 2
#13 Severin Ilya, Image Sporting Cenial Age: 30 Height: 5 ft 7 in Caps: 53

It has been a few cycles since the change between Erika Morningstar and Severin Ilya happened; although the two are only three years apart, they remain amicable and capable training partners. Morningstar is the tall backstop, always consistent, never ceasing to stop trying; Ilya is the old reliable one still capable of footwork and agility that can catch opposing offenses off guard. Morningstar's career in the national team is just nearing its heyday, and she should be a reliable component for a long time to come.

During qualifying, both Erika and Severin were great, with ten and nine appearances each. The spelling of Erika by Severin cannot be understated. Right back remains a solid spot in the Chromatik defense.

LEFT BACKS
#3 Zlastica Ellen, Image Ciclón del Golfo Age: 32 Height: 6 ft 11 in Caps: 84
#14 Aysu Damjana, Image New Llama Stars Age: 27 Height: 6 ft 7 in Caps: 26

Although Zlastica Ellen is starting to get on a little over the years (especially in Chromatik sports terms) she still provides a very tall, solid presence. The physical enforcer on the team, she's absolutely amazing at defending corners. It is a bit of a surprise that she hasn't scored a goal yet by a header, but with the new system of Parker's, she might have a few more chances. Aysu Damjana is a very solid and capable backup, providing relief as needed. The New Llama Stars player seeks to spread a little more knowledge of Super-Llamaland, especially to those in Chromatika who don't know that the country exists. She can do everything that Ellen can, it's just Ellen is the clear veteran between the two and hence gets the starting nod most of the time.

Though Zlastica did have some communication issues with Jillian Nier at times, she still did a solid job in the left backfield, with Aysu doing a fine job spelling her as well.

CENTRE BACKS
#4 Lucjusz Stef, Image Mar Sara FC Age: 29 Height: 6 ft 2 in Caps: 75 Goals: 2
#5 Luuk Aart, Image Lonngeylin Coast Age: 26 Height: 6 ft 4 in Caps: 97 Goals: 4
#15 Otis Sorendai, Image CSD Catamarca Age: 27 Height: 6 ft Caps: 46
#16 Frederic Colbert, Image Llerana SC Age: 30 Height: 6 ft 8 in Caps: 19

It's crazy to think that Luuk Aart is only 25 provided everything that he has been through. Now that bloodlines don't matter as much anymore in the new Chromatik society, he can move on to his first love, football. Lucjusz Stef became the first Chromatik to start in the domestic league of Valanora, earning a few accolades for that feat; he is the taller of the two and boxes out would-be-scorers with absurd precision. Otis Sorendai would be a starter in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the two in front of him, having had experience when the team played the 5-3-2, and knowing how to be very cerebral in his approach. Frederic Colbert is oldest of them all, being a journeyman for a long time. Now playing in San Llera, he is the tallest and most disciplined, but also the most predictable.

Luuk Aart definitely returned to his previous captaincy form during the cycle, with Stef being his fateful partner. Both Otis and Frederic didn't get a lot of playing time, but remain capable backups.

LEFT MIDFIELDER
#6 Carrol Liam, Image Utica United Age: 25 Height: 6ft Caps: 65 Goals: 5
#17 Daniel Lucas, Image CD Barrio El Niño Age: 35 Height: 6 ft 6 in Caps: 54 Goals: 2

The general consensus is that Daniel Lucas will most likely join the coaching ranks when his playing days are over. The utmost veteran of the team still plays in San José Guayabal; he is still capable of flashes of brilliance but age is slowly catching up to him. You can rely on maybe a half hour from him, but he is definitely better suited to leading in the locker room, providing bits of strategy, and going out there when absolutely required. Carrol Liam, the untested youngster who was thrust into the spotlight, now has more caps than Daniel, and seems to be only doing better the more playing time he gets. If he continues at his current place, he's set to have more than a hundred caps for Chromatika; though his passes don't lead to assists as often as Meagan/Rachel do, he is the master of the first touch that sets everything else up.

An interesting observation to be made from the qualifying cycle was the play of Daniel Lucas. The old man still has some gas left in his tank, and he showed it to the Chromatik opponents. Carrol has eclipsed Daniel's caps record, and now remains the best left midfielder of the country.

RIGHT WINGER
#7 Trenn Rien, Image Athletico Nacional Age: 25 Height: 6 ft 3 in Caps: 71 Goals: 23
#18 Ki Niro, Image Selyne Aethenians Age: 27 Height: 5 ft 10 in Caps: 31 Goals: 14

Trenn Rien doesn't get enough accolades for what he does, as Kéìrâ is the one in the spotlight. He's the one that takes up a lot of the other team's attention, letting his actions speak louder than words. As another young key piece, he should be fine for a while doing what he does best. Ki Niro, now playing in the Unified Sunrise Islands system, is Trenn's longtime backup, fast and furious. The moments when she's been allowed to play, she's brought a speed and urgency to the team - she might be used more during qualifying.

Not a bad qualifying for Trenn, scoring five goals in eleven appearances. Ki, though, only appeared four times, which is an oddity. Trenn's physique might have something to do with that, but the two will be foaming at the bit again to get some playing time.

RIGHT MIDFIELDER
#8 Alyss Montague, Image Coret Hawks Age: 27 Height: 5 ft 5 in Caps: 26 Goals: 6
#19 Laure Etienne, Image Anomalies Age: 25 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 8

Alyss Montague finally gets a chance to shine with Meagan Kelly's maternity leave. the Hawks midfielder has been her backup and getting some plying time here and there but has not had a lot of experience. Most famous as being the girlfriend of Andísorí, she will get her chance. She's a bit on the smaller side but knows how to slice and dice the defense. Laure Etienne is a longstanding solid contributor in the Chromatik domestic league who deserves a chance or another. Her strength is in her footwork and dribbling, but she can be a bit selfish at times with the ball.

Alyss Montague appeared as one of the superstars the qualifying cycle, to a tune of four goals and nine assists in eleven caps. Laure Etienne did an okay job backing up with eight caps and two assists, but when the return of Meagan Kelly happens, it will be interesting to see who wins the right midfielder job.

STRIKER
#9 Kéìrâ Andísorí, Image Starling Age: 22 Height: 5 ft 3 in Caps: 48 Goals: 44
#20 Nioli Quren, Image Hashbury Age: 30 Height: 6 ft 2 in Caps: 70 Goals: 9
#23 Kaytlyne Victoriane, Image Tihon Age: 20 Height: 5 ft 8 in Caps: 8 Goals: 9

Kéìrâ Andísorí is now undoubtedly the face of the team, having scored a barrage of goals the previous cycle. Now just entering the young age of 21, the sky is literally the limit. Starling is now where she is practicing her craft. Age is the sole reason why she is not the Captain of this squad, but she has so many years left in her anyway that it will be just an eventuality. Nioli Quren will forever be remembered as the man who was humble enough to give Kéìrâ her chance and the team a shot in the arm with how brilliant she has been.

Andisori continued her amazing form with six goals in ten appearances, while young Kaytlyne Victoriane played fantastically to a tune of nine goals in eight matches, earning her a shot in the Final 23.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
#10 Rachel Hellion, Image FC Fairleigh-Sarburton Age: 27 Height: 6 ft 6 in Caps: 96 Goals: 17
#21 Sandra Sybill, Image Real Azuris Age: 29 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 45 Goals: 7

Rachel Hellion is the spot kick specialist and longstanding centre midfield player for the Chromatiks, but with the formation now rewarding more offense, she might be getting a bit more heat from Sandra Sybill, the Azuris midfielder that won the Champions' Cup last UICA cycle. The two maintain an amicable relationship. Hellion has the height, but Sybill the finesse and the speed. This will be another interesting battle to follow throughout qualifying for the Chromatik squad.

With Rachel Hellion battling a rather severe ankle injury, Sandra Sybill stepped up, appearing eleven times and contributing three goals and four assists. Hellion should be back for the proper, but if she isn't, the team is in good hands with the Azuris midfielder.

LEFT WINGER
#11 Gabriella Antonio, Image Coret Hawks Age: 29 Height: 6 ft 1 in Caps: 99 Goals: 31 CAPTAIN
#22 Jazmin Dragana, Image Bishop Age: 25 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 21 Goals: 8

Gabriella Antonio gets the Captain's armband with Meagan Kelly on maternity leave. The Coret Hawks star has had a rough season in Nephara, but is the closest to hundred caps for the Chromatik National Team. Jazmin Dragana actually finished better than Antonio in the Nepharim League as part of Bishop. She's capable of solid minutes off the bench.

Gabriella Antonio is one cap away from becoming the first player in Chromatika to hit the hundredth cap mark, including all World Cup sanctioned tournaments and the AOCAF. Jazmin Dragana showed how dangerous she could be off the bench, contributing four goals and four assists in nine appearances.

#19 Laure Etienne, Image Anomalies Age: 24 Height: 5 ft 11 in

Alyss Montague finally gets a chance to shine with Meagan Kelly's maternity leave. the Hawks midfielder has been her backup and getting some plying time here and there but has not had a lot of experience. Most famous as being the girlfriend of Andísorí, she will get her chance. She's a bit on the smaller side but knows how to slice and dice the defense. Laure Etienne is a longstanding solid contributor in the Chromatik domestic league who deserves a chance or another. Her strength is in her footwork and dribbling, but she can be a bit selfish at times with the ball.

STRIKER
#9 Kéìrâ Andísorí, Image Starling Age: 21 Height: 5 ft 3 in Caps: 38 Goals: 38
#20 Nioli Quren, Image Hashbury Age: 29 Height: 6 ft 2 in Caps: 67 Goals: 7

Kéìrâ Andísorí is now undoubtedly the face of the team, having scored a barrage of goals the previous cycle. Now just entering the young age of 21, the sky is literally the limit. Starling is now where she is practicing her craft. Age is the sole reason why she is not the Captain of this squad, but she has so many years left in her anyway that it will be just an eventuality. Nioli Quren will forever be remembered as the man who was humble enough to give Kéìrâ her chance and the team a shot in the arm with how brilliant she has been.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
#10 Rachel Hellion, Image FC Fairleigh-Sarburton Age: 26 Height: 6 ft 6 in Caps: 89 Goals: 16
#21 Sandra Sybill, Image Real Azuris Age: 28 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 34 Goals: 4

LEFT WINGER
#11 Gabriella Antonio, Image Coret Hawks Age: 28 Height: 6 ft 1 in Caps: 90 Goals: 28 CAPTAIN
#22 Jazmin Dragana, Image Bishop Age: 24 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 12 Goals:4

Gabriella Antonio gets the Captain's armband with Meagan Kelly on maternity leave. The Coret Hawks star has had a rough season in Nephara, but is the closest to hundred caps for the Chromatik National Team. Jazmin Dragana actually finished better than Antonio in the Nepharim League as part of Bishop. She's capable of solid minutes off the bench.

PLAYSTYLE
The Savojar team plays a defensive game, relying on its size, strength and speed to score. It tries to trap the opponent and counters quickly. Set balls are a strength of the team, as are games against quick, technical opponents. Weaknesses of the team are making the game and getting through an organised defense. The team got a bit more offensive after a very disappointing BoF and since then, they seem to have less trouble of getting the job done in offense. They did replace a few players and changed from a 4-4-2 to a more defensive 4-4-1-1. On counter attacks, the wingers tend to pull towards the corner of the box, while the wingbacks try to join the attack and deliver crosses to Karjanen in the middle.

STADIUM

Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman

City: Sjoedrhavn
Built: 1993
Capacity: 78'000
Used for: National team, concerts, Cup final

The national stadium of Savojarna, the Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman, is located in the northeast of Sjoedrhavn, the nation's capital. It was built 1991 as a replacement for the old Savojarstadion, and renamed after the revolutionary leader and first Head of State of Savojarna, Carl Gustaf Bjurman. As a symbol for the national unity and pride, it is not used by any football team as a home stadium, but for national events. One of the biggest events in the stadium is the New Year's Celebration, when the stadium is always full for a combination of concerts and speeches of the national elite. Further recurring events are the celebration of Revolution Day, when the Head of State speaks in front of the masses, and the yearly cup final of Savojarna. The stadium is known for its comfort and that it is usually sold out. The athmosphere somewhat suffers from the athletics track, but it is far the biggest stadium of Savojarna.

IMPORTANT: If you want to injure Savojar fans, journalists etc., or stage a large scale brawl (also among players) or wage war on us, I am up for that IF you send me a TG first. I will consider my permissions broken if you don't though, and not accept the act (from Savojarna's POV, it never happened - it is up to you whether it actually didn't happen or if the Savojars are lying...)

MT socialist (mostly) island state - Cultural mixture of Scandinavia, Finland and Russia -Exports iron, steel, silver and wood - Low fantasy in terms of animal species - Sports-loving - 22.8 million inhabitants.

The adjective is Savojar; Savojarnan is not a word!
I am a student of (European) politics, ice hockey fan, left-wing communist bordering on anarchy, and European federalist. Enjoy!

After an abrupt end to a good Baptism of Fire campaign, with a defeat with 2-1 on Mriin. The Juven squad has been updated, some players have remained though. This is the first time the squad has come together since the good Baptism of Fire campaign. The squad's more offensively minded than last campaign since Toset's dissapointment didn't allow him to focus. Toset's ambition for his team is to focus high for a possible Cup of Harmony qualification. A qualification for a major tournament such as this could enlargen the Juven morale which, despite the elimination on the Baptism of Fire remains high.

REVOLUTIONARY NORDSKANIA
THE BARONS

Revolutionary Nordskania is a medium sized country that only recently succeeded from an oppressive communist dictatorship to the south. The region is largely influenced by Anglatia, which funded and trained the revolution, and the closest thing it has to a government is the Northern Syndicate that manages foreign policy and has the largest militia. The ongoing revolution is also the reason why many players were born in foreign lands that are safer. The land is ruled by many clans, corporations, and other organizations who own property, and there are no laws beyond property rights. Sport has long been popular in the north, where the revolutionary zone is located, and so a national league was quickly established when the north broke away from the rest of the country. The largest footballing city is the de facto capital, Turbayov, which is home to both Alliance and Central. Alliance is the most supported side historically, while Central won the first summer and winter seasons of the RFL. By the coast and in the industrial centers, football is a religion to the populace, and most Nordskanians consider themselves very knowledgable about the game. They're also extremely passionate when supporting their clubs, and loyalty is a big deal to fans. Once you choose a club in the north, you're a fan for life. The players are also expected to put the interests of their club above their own. The sporting atmosphere in the country is also largely inspired by the unstable political atmosphere, and the ongoing battle to protect the southern border. The creation of the national team reflects this struggle, a struggle for recognition by the rest of the world, and is a major step in the fight for northern freedom. Further south, the Nordskania War is ongoing with Pridnestrovia and various factions, which has caused all Nordskania home matches to be played abroad until further notice.

THE EMPIRE OF GREATER ANGLATIA ROSTER
THE EXPLORERS

They've failed to make it into the World Cup finals after holding a qualifiers lead for almost the entire cycle, they crashed out of the Cup of Harmony early, and they put on a poor showing in the Copa Rushmori in what should have been a winnable group with some luck. Things have been low for Anglatia at the senior level, while the youth have been the bright spot of the nation's program, winning the U-18 World Cup. Whatever happens this cycle, there will be change. With Allie Vacek, Hakki Ojala, Remy Ladipo, and Bozidar Pavlovic waiting in the wings, the pressure is on for Andros Diasakos, Zahara Santana, Hector Grier, and the other leaders from the team's first couple of cycles. The rabid fanbase of the Explorers is demanding wins, and it's up to both the new generation and the new staff to deliver them.

Football is one of the three national sports within Coldfield - along with Boxing and Archery. It is practiced since 1890, however, the first national football championship was held only in 1950 - before the Commonwealth Cup, football teams were quite amateur and they only participated in regional championships - North, Central Mountains, South, and West. Nowadays Coldfieldian clubs take part in a domestic cup, three national leagues, and regional championships. The Coldfieldian National Football Team (CNFT) was established in late 2016 and it took part of the Baptism of Fire 64, being eliminated by Amnarei-asud in the penalties after a dramatic match in the quarter-finals.

Record: 4-0(1)-2(1) (parentheses denotes matches decided on penalty shootout)

First Match: San José Guayabal 3-0 Coldfield, friendly

1: (Not for too long - maximum until end of tournament. No killings or career-ending injuries. A terrorist attack that kills supporters is fine, however - just not any member of the Royal Family)

Staff

Manager: Robin Stoff (58 y/o, TMB)

Robin Stoff is the manager of the Tumbran team - something which has proven to be more of a curse than a blessing. In his fourteen matches in charge, he has failed to win any, at most holding teams to a draw. He hopes that will change at this tournament, with Tumbra being in a relatively easy group. He has repeatedly stated that he is in for the long run - a sentiment that the TFA shares, despite them dismissing him from his job as the U-21 manager following Tumbra's successful third-placed finish in the Di Bradini Cup.

Assistant Manager: Mark Noble (47 y/o, TMB)

Noble was recently appointed to the job by Stoff - he will be taking care of tactics and ingame advice, as well as being the defensive coach. Previously manager of West Langham, Noble is more offensive-based than Stoff - however, he has adapted his tactics to Stoff's somewhat. Will they work well together? Or will their relationship crumble?

Goalkeeping Coach: Aiden Pearce (52 y/o, TMB)

Defensive Coach: Jon Seah (43 y/o, TMB)

Attacking Coach: Martin Lewis (58 y/o, TMB)

Fitness Coach: Samantha Lewington (39 y/o, TMB)

Scout: Harry Kew (64 y/o, TMB)

Physio: Coraline Lewis (33 y/o, TMB)

Players

Formation: 4-2-3-1

With several important players retiring, announcing their retirement from international football or football altogether, Robin Stoff has chosen to revamp the team fully. The result is a new-look team that has players from more top-tier teams, although there still are some from lower-tier ones.

1 Ryan Hughes (Thurmond City)

Age: 31
Height: 190 cm
Weight: 86 kg

Goalkeeper Hughes was, is and will be the custodian of the goal for this team. A magnificent ability to stop shots which are often considered unsaveable, Hughes is a threat to look out for. However, he cannot stop set-pieces for toffee, and generally looks to the defenders to help him in this task.

12 Raymond Perry (Goldlion Arsenal)

Age: 30
Height: 183 cm
Weight: 73 kg

Perry, the man with cat-like reflexes, finds himself once again in the team. He'll be treating this as possibly an extended vacation, unless something happens to Hughes. He is a middle-of-the-road keeper, and is generally considered to be around decent for a team of Tumbra's standing.

23 Steven Haines (Waterford City)

Age: 33
Height: 184 cm
Weight: 79 kg

Haines made it into the team with the retirement of Larry Peterson, who retired aged 34. Although unlikely to play any major role in this tournament, but he is always ready to spring into action when needed. More of a technical player than a showman, he has very good control of his area.

2 Louis Paterson (Chalk Wharf)

Positions: LB, CB
Age: 28
Height: 179 cm
Weight: 81 kg

3 Brandon Brooks (Fayborough United) - Captain

Positions: CB, CDM, CM
Age: 31
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 85 kg

Brandon Brooks is the definition of a safe pair of hands. His command of the area is bar none, and is often called the best defender in Tumbra. While not the fastest, Brooks does fit in with Stoff's new philosophy of stopping attackers in defence - and works it out to a tee.

With Pandon's retirement from international football, Brooks becomes the Captain. Will he do well?

4 Steve Nelson (Thurmond United)

Positions: CB, RB, CDM
Age: 29
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 69 kg

5 Cecil Reyes (Hoxford United)

Positions: RB, CB, SW
Age: 26
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 72 kg

Reyes is part of a new brand of football that Robin Stoff is trying to bring in - physically imposing defenders that can scare the living daylights out of opposing strikers. Standing at just below six feet, Reyes is extremely athletic and will chase after every single ball.

13 Ian Keum (Chalk Wharf)

Positions: CB, LB, RB
Age: 24
Height: 174 cm
Weight: 66kg

14 Alex Tucker (Metz FC)

Positions: LB, CB, RB
Age: 28
Height: 168 cm
Weight: 54 kg

Alex Tucker is the shortest and lightest member of the team, but that does not mean everything in the world of football. Tucker is fast, agile and jumps like a spring - managing to jump up to 200 cm - taller than most people are. This also means that he has been responsible for some fantastic last-ditch goal-line saves, using his incredible speed to catch up to forwards.

15 Roger Baker (Thurmond City)

Positions: CB, RB
Age: 29
Height: 182 cm
Weight: 71 kg

6 Henry Butler (Connaught FC) - Vice Captain

Positions: CDM, CM, LM
Age: 28
Height: 171 cm
Weight: 63 kg

Butler quietly and efficiently established himself as the top CDM in Tumbra, with his recent showing at the Cup of Harmony speaking volumes about his quality. Extremely well-versed in the defensive arts of football, Butler will run rings around the opponent, showing them how stubborn the Tumbran defence can be at times.

7 John Rhys-Stevens (Merton FC)

Positions: CDM, CB
Age: 23
Height: 175 cm
Weight: 70 kg

Rhys-Stevens put in a quiet yet determined campaign during the Cup of Harmony and the Eagle's Cup, proving once again that the mature-beyond-his-age midfielder is ready for the full rigour of international football. His most unforgettable moment may have happened in Valanora, but that was what brought him into the spotlight for the first time...

8 Almar Hussein (Connaught FC)

Positions: LW, CM, CAM
Age: 20
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 56 kg

Another star from the Di Bradini Cup campaign, Hussein's young age raises the question of whether he is too young to take part in international football. Some say that he is an experiment to see whether Oliver Ganson can be rushed into service as the replacement for Henry Pandon, but we never know with Robin Stoff. An aerial master, his linkup plays are excellent and more often than not he will score headed goals out of nowhere. He will be relishing this chance to re-link with Stoff, the ex-U21 manager.

9 Robert Alexander (Thurmond United)

Age: 30
Positions: CAM, LM, RM
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 74 kg

Alexander rose to the occasion exceptionally well when Henry Pandon was taken off injured, being the star of the show in the Eagle's Cup, along with Henry Butler. He has that ability to see goalscoring opportunities where others do not - this leads to him being played as a raumdeuter, or space invader.

10 Albert Foster (Goldlion Arsenal)

Age: 28
Positions: RW, LW, CF
Height: 169 cm
Weight: 62 kg

Foster is fast, and he knows it. At twenty-six years of age, Foster relies on pure speed and skill to get past and befuddle his poor opponents, usually leaving them in the dust with his magnificent speed. He often sets up counterattacks on the wing, which makes him a prime target for defenders.

16 William Coleman (Thurmond United)

Age: 31
Positions: CDM, CM
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 79 kg

17 Arnold Lowe (Fayborough United)

Age: 28
Positions: RM, CM
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 71 kg

18 Kevin Monaghan (Waterford City)

Age: 23
Positions: CDM, CM, CB
Height: 169 cm
Weight: 62 kg

Stoff's latest strategy seems to be putting quick, young people into the team to ensure the ball gets up the field, fast. Monaghan is known for his stopping skills, but is a little short.

19 Justin Bielsen (Wildrspring Wanderers)

Age: 26
Positions: RM, LM
Height: 179 cm
Weight: 74 kg

20 Ervin Geeson (Sondon AFC)

Age: 32
Positions: CDM, CB
Height: 181 cm
Weight: 77 kg

11 John Krajewski (Humboldt Albion)

Age: 23
Positions: ST, LW, LM
Height: 181 cm
Weight: 81 kg

Krajewski takes on the mantle of striker for this world cup cycle, in a team strangely bereft of Henry Pandon's guidance. He plays very differently from Pandon though,
something attributed to his Quebecois ancestry.

21 Oliver Ganson (Rosenfeldplatz FC, Abanhfleft)

Age: 19
Positions: ST
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 54 kg

Here he is. The sporting legend. This is his time to shine. What have three years in Abanhfleft done to the lad from Ilcaster? Only time will tell.

22 Peter Jones (West Langham)

Age: 26
Positions: ST, CAM
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 64 kg

Jones is the third striker in Tumbra's striking options - a stalwart choice if there ever was one. While there was a chance for him to ascend to the number 21 jersey, Jones chose to remain with 22, as it was, to him, the more iconic choice. The days of him scoring at will in the Di Bradini Cup are long gone, but Jones has since evolved into a quiet, efficient striker with a deadly right foot.

The Stadia

Wembley National Stadium, Goldlion City - 90,000

Image

The National Stadium is certainly the largest dedicated football stadium in Tumbra - and that is saying a lot. Located in the north of Goldlion City, traffic from there and the airport is usually atrocious, but the Tube does have a dedicated system servicing the station on matchdays. This stadium will host the games against [TBA], with 10,000 seats being allocated to away fans.

City of Thurmond Stadium, Thurmond - 53,000

Image

Home to Thurmond City FC, this stadium, while not the largest stadium in Thurmond (New Trafford takes that title), is certainly the more modern one. Located just a hop, a skip and a jump away from the city centre, and five kilometres away from the airport (with a direct train service to boot). This stadium will host the games against [TBA], with 7,500 seats being allocated to away fans.

Thefield Stadium, Connaught - 44,742

Image

Thefield Stadium (pronounced Theh-feld) is located in Connaught, fifty-six kilometres from Thurmond, and is home to Connaught FC - some of the league's most dedicated supporters. While not the newest stadium, Tumbra fans are known to show a great atmosphere while there. Easily reachable by train, plane or car. This stadium will host the games against [TBA] with 5,000 seats being allocated to away fans.

About Tumbra

A map of Tumbra can be found here.

The Royal Federal Republic of Tumbra is a nation of over 67 million people is an extremely diverse nation, welcoming people from all around the world to its shores. Tumbra has often been called an "immigrant nation", simply because it has so many cultures and values that the traditional Tumbran identity has been moulded and kneaded to fit the new Tumbran demographic. That being said, however, 87.1% of the population is still white - but the proportion of nonwhite people is significantly higher in metropolitan areas.

A great Wikipedia article on the nation can be found here.

Tumbra: Weather

Tumbra has a temperate climate, with plentiful rainfall all year round. The temperature varies with the seasons seldom dropping below −11 °C (12 °F) or rising above 35 °C (95 °F). The prevailing wind is from the south-west and bears frequent spells of mild and wet weather from the Sarian Sea, although the eastern parts are mostly sheltered from this wind since the majority of the rain falls over the western regions the eastern parts are therefore the driest. Sarianese currents, warmed by the Paradystopian Cheese Desert, bring mild winters; especially in the west where winters are wet and even more so over high ground. Summers are warmest in the south-east of Tumbra, being closest to the Esportivan Federal Republic mainland, and coolest in the north. Heavy snowfall can occur in winter and early spring on high ground, and occasionally settles to great depth away from the hills.

Some packing advice that the Foreign Office has for travellers is to pack warm clothes. Always, always consult the Met Office, the Environment Agency or the Lackish Environment Protection Agency for additional information and advice on the weather.

If tourists decide to go on hikes, here are some precautions to take.

- never practice these activities alone;
- always hire an experienced guide from a reputable company;
- buy travel insurance that covers helicopter rescue and medical evacuation;
- ensure that your physical condition is good enough to meet the challenges of your activity;
- advise a family member or friend of your itinerary, including when you expect to be back to camp;
- know the symptoms of acute altitude sickness, which can be fatal;
- sign up with your embassy's location service; and,
- obtain detailed information on trekking routes or ski slopes before setting out and do not venture away from marked trails or slopes.

Tumbra: Religion

While previously an extremely devout nation, Tumbra has seen a gradually increasing number of people becoming non-religious ever following 1945. The two main religions present in the nation include Humanism and Protestantism, with 36% and 22% of the population identifying themselves as that. 21% of people identified as non-religious, while the remainder were made up of minor religions.

That being said, however, tourists should not attempt to incite violence against any creed or faith - such an incident will result in immediate deportation to the tourist's home country and a ban on entering the country for five years minimum.

Tumbra: Travel

Travelling to Tumbra is not very difficult. All one needs to do is to obtain a visa before setting off on one's trip to Tumbra, which will be approved 95% of the time - unless there is a very blatant security concern, after which the tourist will be detained and brought in for questioning. International flights land at many airports throughout Tumbra, though the main airport served is the Goldlion City International Airport, in the south-west of Goldlion.

Within Tumbra itself, however, it is more than recommended that tourists use public transport when commuting in Tumbra. Tumbra has an extensive rail network, and tourists are advised to use those instead, as the roads are excellent but are often narrow and congested, especially in urban areas.

Traffic drives on the left. Use caution when entering a traffic circle (roundabout). Pedestrians should use caution when crossing streets and be mindful that traffic is usually coming from the opposite direction than what they may be used to.

If using taxis, only use officially marked ones - however, carsharing applications like Uber are allowed in the country.

Tumbra: Language

The lingua franca and the national language is English - most Tumbrans often do not understand much else. The outlying Territories - Lackland, Sofan and Artumo - have their own dialects and languages which are recognised by the constituent countries, but not by the official Tumbran government, which uses English for all official purposes.

Tumbra: Food

Tumbran cuisine is the specific set of cooking traditions and practices associated with Tumbra. Tumbran cuisine has been described as "unfussy dishes made with quality local ingredients, matched with simple sauces to accentuate flavour, rather than disguise it." However, Tumbran cuisine has absorbed the cultural influence of those who have settled here, producing many hybrid dishes, such as chicken tikka masala - the national dish of Tumbra.

Tumbran cuisine has traditionally been limited in its international recognition to the full breakfast, fish and chips, and the Christmas dinner. Other Tumbran dishes include the Sunday roast, steak and kidney pie, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash. Tumbran cuisine has many regional varieties within the broader categories of Nicodian, Lacklandian and Artumoan cuisine. Each has developed its own regional or local dishes, many of which are geographically indicated foods such as Cornish pasties, the Pilkshire pudding, Cumberland Sausage, Arbroath Smokie, and Artumo cakes.

Tumbra: Sports

Tumbra's national sport is football, though rugby union and cricket are often in with a shout. Tumbran supporters are usually very rowdy, sometimes crossing over into hooliganism - something which the authorities have absolutely zero tolerance for, local or otherwise.

It is recommended not to insult football supporters who are drunk, incapitated, or worse. Doing so may spark a riot, which has happened in the past.

The use of fire-related items (like flares) are strictly prohibited inside stadiums. If discovered, the offender will recieve a fine and have the offending item confiscated. Hooliganism is absolutely not tolerated and will be dealt with strictly.[/spoiler]

Zambananan National Team
for the World Cup 77

This marks the former Tumbran colony's first foray into the world of international football - widely denounced as a publicity manoeuvre by President Joseph Mbukane in the midst of a failing economy and internal strife brought on by the Zambananan Freedom Army seeking to put an end to Mbukane's thirty-six year reign.

Externally, President Mbukane is planning to launch an attack on the nation of Zuidafrikaanerstaats - which he has already made offensive overtures to. Will it succeed?

INFORMATION
Nickname: The Fennec Foxes
Trigram: AMN
Style Modification: +4

"Manager": The Hood (?)
Head Coach: Aslan Sato (57)
Chairman of the FAAa: Kerim Al-Tanaka (62)
Capital City: Ain Salah
Population: 14,300,000
Demonym: Asud
Geography: A dry, sandy, rocky, arid desert island in Atlantian Oceania with few cities and lots of dunes
Politics: A paranoid authoritarian dictatorship with strong economy and next to no political freedoms or civil rights
People: Suspicious of foreigners and hostile
President: Sheikh Suleyman Honda
Culture: Think Japan crossed with Arabian Peninsula/North Africa, with a sprinkling of Turkey/Central Asia. The Asud worship the sacred white palms, so, mess with any of them, or the fruit that grows on them that the Asud turn into sacred dates, and they'll kill you. Straight up, they'll kill you.
Borders: Almost entirely closed. The Sheikh had to be persuaded to open them only when it was pointed out to him that international football was next to pointless without international access. Incoming visitors may only bring 150 fans in addition to the team and sporting/diplomatic entourage, and they'll be closely guarded by heavily armed paramilitaries the entire time. Similarly, Asud fans following the team abroad will number 150, and will be guarded by paramilitaries lest they attempt to pick up any foreign culture or interact with any of you liberal dogs.

RP NOTE:
The Hood is a mysterious character, who I'd rather you didn't interact with thanks. He leaves the actual running of the squad to Sato, and only chips in from the sidelines when he has a suggestion or a plot device. He won't do press conferences, appear in well-lit areas, and you will never, ever, ever, see under his hood. This is important for the long term RP aims of this squad. You'll likely be aware of him, and you're more than welcome to talk about him, but you'll never be in a position where you can talk to him. Thanks.

Godmod injuries to my players: Yes, but not to Saab and no deaths to anyone
