The Football Association of Ethane and the Federation of Avonian Soccer are proud to announce that they will be bidding for the 77th edition of the World Cup. Both sporting bodies felt that it was the right time to bid for the tournament, considering the prestigious namesake - and number - of the edition during which they have chosen to bid. Both sporting bodies hope that the rest of the multiverse will see the bid in the same light as them, and therefore consider voting from Ethane and Avon to be the hosts of tthe 77th edition of the World Cup.
About Ethane
Located in North-Western Esportiva, Ethane has typically been a democratic, left-leaning liberal state. However, in recent elections, the rise of the right has been observed in the Christian Conservative Party and now the anti-establishment MoralEthane! party in the current controversial election. The previous government was led by the Union of Socialists in coalition with the anti-establishment left-wing GreenerEthane! party, which has heavily focused on improving the environment of the nation, returning it to its pristine natural state, making it a beautiful place to visit for tourists. The nation has a strong pacifistic tendency, even with a large military, and puts a lot of funds into public education. However, the future policies of the nation are up in the air at the moment, because of how tight the election is according to the polls.
The nation is well known for many things, including its multiple sporting appearances in the likes of the World Baseball Classic, and the World Cup, and its performances in the Worldvision Song Contest and the World Hit Festival. The nation is renowned for its technology sector, which drives forward innovation. The nation also has well funded and developed healthcare and public transport, making these apparent basic utilities easier for people to reach and use. The nation also has a relatively varied climate, with the Isle of Lowe providing a serene, natural beauty with a variety of mountains and lakes, while the countryside in the county of Tyrielie amongst others is widespread with farms and hills. The small government prioritizes infrastructure, education, and economic stimulus, and tries to be as self-sufficient as possible despite the inherent inability to fully do so. The isles of Columbia, New Avon, and William's Isle are known for being more tourist-trap and environmentally focused, while Vericonium and Snowdonia are more urban centers. Either way, it's a small, easy-to-explore area which makes world travelers rave.

Ethane maintains a role as a rising star in the sporting world, not yet hitting it big time in any sport, yet enough of a threat that nations are sometimes wary of playing the national team. The sport where the nation has found the most success is arguably baseball, where Ethane is ranked tenth. However, successes in tennis also make that a challenger for most successful sport for Ethane.
While baseball is not the most popular sport in Ethane, it does have a sizeable loyal following who turn out to watch local club games. The sport is most popular with students, as it is a sport heavily played in secondary school and at university, making it a popular choice of sport in Ethane. However, football is also popular in Ethane and holds the position as Ethane's national sport, with the Explosive League fairly popular and the sport widely played in schools. Ethane has yet to find success in the World Cup - coming closest to reaching the playoffs in World Cup 75 (Ethane's 2nd world cup) in which they were knocked out in the second place play-in matches against Banguela because of a harsh away goal - but is hoping that their hosting experience will allow them the chance to breakthrough into the higher rankings.
The nation is no stranger to hosting large events, as it has hosted various large events before, showing the nation is capable of handling the increased demand on everything in the nation during the tournament. The nation started off its hosting career through holding the first Gaelic Football World Championships in Ethane. The nation has also been host to the Aurorealis Football League and the Handball World Cup XVI. Ethane has also held the 11th edition of the World Junior Hockey Championships. However, the most prestigious event that the nation has hosted so far is the 30th edition of the World Bowl. Naturally, not all these events have run smoothly, with logistical errors and errors of judgement in some of the tournaments, but the mistakes have been dwelled on and will not be repeated.
While the user behind Ethane may not be the most experienced member of the board, he has established himself in the forum and has shown his hosting capabilities through the various events he has hosted. Furthermore, the user behind this nation also holds the prestigious role of Vice-President of the International Basketball Organisation. The user also controls 'The Great Pi', who took part in the previous World Cup and Baptism of Fire as a puppet to Ethane.
Sporting History of Avon
Avon has participated in only one World Cup Cycle: the 63/76/68 cycle. Besides that, it hasn't done much in international sports, besides the national league it shares with Ceni, now known as Terranean League East, but previously known as I-League, and known as the Federation of Avonian Soccer before the merge with its northern neighbor.
While nothing has been hosted in Avon as far as sports goes, besides the 2 seasons of soccer from FAS and then I-League, the user behind it has hosted several events of varying types and sizes, such as IMAA Drum Corps events, the first 2 International Cups of 7ball, co-hosting World Bowl XXIX alongside Frenline Delpha, co-hosting IBC 21 alongside Royal Kingdom of Quebec, and is almost done hosting Handball World Cup 18. The user behind Avon also holds the prestigious role of President of the International Basketball Organisation. Avon may be new to hosting itself but the already-in-place infrastructure and venues will be plenty enough to hold the many nations of the World Cup.
World Cup Qualifiers Format
Based on recent editions of the World Cup and the rough numbers that they attract each edition, we would be looking to follow a similar format of 20 groups of 7 (dependent on if the signup numbers allow this). There will be a guaranteed 7 teams per group though, so if we get less signups than expected, then we will reduce the number of groups. More specific numbers will be provided on request as signups progress further and we obtain more of a picture of the sort of numbers this edition is attracting.
We will be able to guarantee that the top team will automatically qualify for the World Cup, and not have to go through a playoff process to enter the World Cup.
We will aim to start the tournament towards the end of January or early February, with Ethane hosting the first half and Avon hosting the second half of the qualifiers.
Roleplay Bonus and Scorination
The RP Bonus will be cumulative and generous, and will be graded on the tenets of originality, creativity and quality over quantity. Rosters will be graded up to the 2x of the value of 1 days RP Bonus.
RP Bonus earned during the World Cup Qualifiers will be degraded by the value of 77% for the World Cup Finals.
We will use the most recent version of Xkoranate (0.3.3) with the SGIS formula. Style Modifiers will be available from -5 (utlra-defence) to +5 (ultra-attack) up to 3 d.p.
