The Andromeda Archipelago wrote:The Andromeda Archipelago signs up for the World Cup.

Although this nation's previous incarnation, The Andromeda Islands, is technically ineligible for the BoF, we would like to participate if allowed.

Individual users are permitted to participate in any number of Baptisms provided it is with different nations, so this is fine.

That takes us to 32 nations signed up for the BoF, assuming Cetheque is participating. Therefore further entries to the BoF will only be accepted when

(i) current participants withdraw or CTE; new nations will be entered on a first come-first served basis.
(ii) new signups reach 36 entries.

Baptism of Fire Sign-Ups Are Closed

Following the withdrawal of Acavira, we are able to extend participation to Socialist Northern Islands as our 32nd and final entrant for the Baptism of Fire, with the Everything Thread due to be posted this afternoon.

Unfortunately Huri de Wintre have not made the cut at this late stage, but depending on the World Cup sign-up progression, may have a place in WC qualifying at the discretion of the hosts. Nations may still sign up for WC qualifying as per conditions set out in this post.

With the CTE of Raschastan we have experienced a delay in the Baptism of Fire. Huri de Wintre has declined a place in the competition as the natural next entrant, and this has now been taken by Nume, who will directly replace Raschastan in the draw.

I have asked Huri to indicate whether they intend to remain in the WC this cycle as it is not clear at the moment.

In sorting this out we have delayed the competition by 48 hours in order to allow Nume time to prepare, since the rest of the field have had a week or more for rosters and RPs, and the Baptism of Fire will commence Monday evening UTC, 16 January. The BoF OP & draw will be updated accordingly later today.

Speaking as vice-President, with respect, this isn't the case. A nation can sign up under an alias that doesn't match their on-site username, and there's plenty of recent precedent for this.

The only thing that might be an issue is the fact that the original Greater Vakolicci Haven nation (which was run by the same guy as far as I'm aware) was banned - but forum precedent seems to have allowed Coraspia to continue to compete under the GVH name, so.

Broadly, comments in this thread that aren't signups are limited to the WCC president/VP and former and current BoF/WC hosts - while people are of course welcome to point out discrepancies and other issues, the WCDT is a better place for it where it won't get buried in signups.
