KGCL CHAMPIONS CUP
---

The inagural tourney of the KGCL Champions Cup is a chance for the multiverse to see who will represent Kebec in NSCF's Season 17, this shall forever go down in history as one of the most interesting Kebecois race for the cup in history. Essentially, the Champions Cup has been created to pit the fourteen teams who are members of the KGCL Elite League and determine who is the strongest of them all and who is willing to represent Kebec on the national stage. Last season, the KGCL simply had the team who won the KGCL Elite League represent Kebec in NSCF [ Calix City Inst. of Archaeology shall represent in NSCF 16 ]. The tournament shall consist of all sixteen teams including CCIA who will face off over four rounds to determine Kebec's representative in NSCF 17. As dictated by the rules, each round of matches shall be created thru random draw. During the second round, the top-seeded team sits out on a bye-week due to an imbalance of teams. The winners of the Champions Cup shall be awarded the Champions Cup, a princly sum of N$650.000 and shall be named Kebec's official representative in NSCF 17. Now, feast your eyes on the teams vying for the title!

    Allkor State University Tigers
    Andaban University Kool Kats
Calix City Institute of Archaeology Demigods
    Calix City University Bombers
    Drawia City College Wonder
    Eckenburg Mountain University Bears
    Faliox Falls State University Hurricanes
    Jazxcula University Inferno
    Kebec National University Capitals
    Lozerville Western University Little Giants
    Morganstown University High Warriors
    Nobodyvillia Technical College Grid
    Sacula University of Music Musicians
    Sario Capital University Killers

In what is expected to be a thrilling race for the cup, there are only four who are seriously considered to be in contention for the cup, those being the Calix City Institute of Archaeology Demigods who will be going thru the final five games before Stoneshore College's offensive coordinator Vince Dill comes into town, the Jazxcula University Inferno, the Lozerville Western University Little Giants and the Sario Capital University Killers. All four of the previously mentioned teams have been in six of the past nine Finals Bowls in the KGCL Elite League. Two highly touted matches are the Calix City Institute of Archaeology versus the Calix City University and Drawia City College versus Eckenburg. The first of the two is a rivalry game, CCIA will travel to 'The Pit' to take on their bitter rivals, CCU. CCIA holds the lead in this historic rivalry, 56-7, in fact, the lat time CCIA traveled to Calix City University, they handed CCU a 34-10 loss last year, knocking Calix City University out of playoff contention. Usually, when CCIA plays CCU, it is an assured win for the CCIA unless of course, the famous A-11 offense isn't working. The coaches at Calix City University however are looking for fresh meet following CCIA's top cornerback out for the season with a torn MCL. The other big rivalry will be when Drawia City College travels to Eckenburg to take them on in the 'Battle for Glory', these two cities are in the northernmost part of Kebec, a mere seventy miles apart. This rivalry is much younger, only four games old as Eckenbutg has only been recently promoted to play in the Elite League.

Allkor State University (Tigers) 0–23 Andaban University (Kool Kats)
Calix City Institute of Archaeology (Demigods) 7–0 Calix City University (Bombers)
Drawia City College (Wonder) 16–18 Eckenburg Mountain University (Bears)
Faliox Falls State University (Hurricanes) 23–3 Jazxcula University (Inferno)
Kebec National University (Capitals) 20–17 Lozerville Western University (Little Giants)
Morganstown University (High Warriors) 28–30 Nobodyvillia Technical College (Grid)
Sacula University of Music (Musicians) 0–0 Sario Capital University (Killers) (3–0 OT)

Match Recap:
Allkor State University 0–23 Andaban University
Calix City Institute of Archaeology 7–0 Calix City University

Allkor State University is a net entrant for Season 61 of the KGCL Elite League, and as such, they were easily manhandled by six-year veterans Andaban University. The game got of to a quick start for Andaban, a 67-yard touchdown rush by their halfback gave them the lead. Fast-forward to the fourth quarter, another rush, this time for twenty-three yards gave Andaban a 14-0 lead. Upon this, Allkor State would have their quarterback, RS-junior Mathéo Frère get a safety, Allkor now was down 16-0. In the dying moments of the game, Frère through a pick-6, icing the game for Andaban who will move on. Andaban's numbers however were far from impressive, freshman quarterback Martin Barthélemy was 9-23 and forty yards during the game including six, yes that's right six interceptions during the game. Their coach was understandably displeased with the paltry performance by Barthélemy. Martin Barthélemy apologized for his poor performance, blaming it on first-year jitters and this being his first start.

Entering the game, CCIA was already the favorite to win the game, and ending the game, they proved they were the superior team. Operating the A-11 offense sophomore quarterback Porthos Subercaseaux was confident in the pocket, 13-for-11 for 138 yards, a passing touchdown and a fumble. While certainly not a stellar game, it was passing, however, Subercaseaux, a former 4-star recruit was brought here for his superior arm strentgh which has failed him during his two seasons leading CCIA's offense. Last season, he only wracked up 2.103 yards in the 23 games he started. The game's only points came in the third quarter on a 3rd-and-16, Subercasaux, operating out of the shotgun read the oncoming blitz from Calix City University and dumped it out on a screen as William Burend cruised in untouched for a twenty-seven yard touchdown.

Drawia City College 16–18 Eckenburg Mountain University
Faliox Falls State University 23–3 Jazxcula University

Eckenburg Mountain was promoted into the Elite League this season after finishing second in the KGCL Stars League just behind Morganstown. Drawia City on the other hand is a highly experienced team in KGCL, having won the Western Cup two years ago and finished second last season, so, how exactly did Drawia lose? Essentially, the game was 16-7 in favor of Drawia early in the fourth quarter. The Drawia quarterback is strip-sacked, this changed the momentum. After this, Drawia would again fumble the ball and monstrous defensive end Jean-Joël Maitre would take it back for a touchdown. Coupled to this, a safety right after put the game out of reach for Drawia. A truly poor performance by Drawia costed them the game and a chance at glory. The coaches will surely be upset following all the hard work they've put into the program, does this signal an off-year is ahead for Drawia?

Faliox Falls got it done in an easy win over Jazxcula, an air raid offense worked charms early on however, throughout the game withered away. Senior wide receiver for Faliox, Tobie Mignard had a stellar day, grabbing 124 yards on six catches along with three touchdowns. Faliox's running game was held to just 26 yards however, this is a bright spot for Jazxcula who will open the regular season against Faliox. Faliox will need to improve their run game if they envision representing Kebec in NSCF's 17th season, that's a sure must. However, they get it done with a win, and after all, a win is a win, no matter how bad it may seem.

Kebec National University 20–17 Lozerville Western University
Morganstown University 28–30 Nobodyvillia Technical College

The team most commonly associated with the national capital, KNU got it done in a touchdown run by quarterback Tommy Weldans in the final seconds of the game. The game, which features Loerville up 17-0 heading into the 3rd quarter was won by last minute theatrics that KNU is known for.The game wining drive started off with a 74-yard pass to Maeva Lecocq a halfback and the only female starter in the KGCL Elite League. KNU has worked to make Lecocq a progidee, she is already on the Kebec national team's list of possible candidates when she graduates in two years. However, Lecocq has stated she wishes to transfer to University of Avgaria om The Redvale or CCIA. Whether this will be realized by seasons end is unclear.

Nobodyvilla Technical College is still a well nobody team, most of their athletes go on to become future dumpter truck drivers and all the unknown, worst jobs out there. So, it was a surprise to see them progress in a win over Morganstown. The again, Morganstown is a newly promoted team, however, Morgansotwn who lead much of the game put up a noble fight. The game came down to a last-second fifty-six yard field-goal which unfortunately for Morganstown bounces off the crossbars and fell. People in Morganstown who were inches away from a miracle were seen crying thru the streets. It was truly cringe-worthy, however, Nobodyvilla is far from done.

Sacula University of Music 0–0 Sario Capital University (3–0 OT)

The big game was surprisingly Sacula U.M. versus KNU in Sario. In one of the most dramatic finishes, freshman quarterback Cédric Bettencourt of Sacula guided them downfield to set up a game winning forty-six yard field-goal as time expired. Sacula has never been a footballing school, however, a new N$650-million dollar stadium must've changed that.

Calix City Institute of Archaeology (Demigods) 10–6 Eckenburg Mountain University (Bears)
Faliox Falls State University (Hurricanes) 21–20 Kebec National University (Capitals)
Nobodyvillia Technical College (Grid) 0–22 Sacula University of Music (Musicians)

Match Recap:
Calix City Institute of Archaeology 10–6 Eckenburg Mountain University
Faliox Falls State University 21–20 Kebec National University

CCIA continues their run for a two-peat with their stifling 10-6 win over Eckenburg. It was a worthy cause and attempt for Eckenburg, however, CCIA is known to play in the trenches, playing till the final bell sounds. As such, after kicking a field goal to kick the game off, CCIA and Eckenburg settled in for a defensive battle which saw CCIA record 8 sacks on Eckenburg's quarterback and six interceptions for the team. Late in the fourth quarter, CCIA, down 6-3 would not be denied a final shot at the prize, they climbed back and were rewarded fairly, they would not be denied a touchdown run by quarterback Subercasaux.

Faliox Falls engaged in a heavy battle with KNU, and, they came away with a surprising win. Early on, the game had the making for a blowout, in the first quarter, seven minutes in, KNU had an easy 13-0 lead as minutes ticked by. However, Faliox climbed back, quickly too, after a rough third quarter which saw an intense battle with the chains going back and forth, Faliox had a 14-13 lead. In the fourth quarter, KNU was quick to cash in on a strip-sack by an unknown third-string player, however, they were unable to convert the extra point. Thus, Faliox Falls closed the game with a touchdown and added the extra point which was nearly blocked.

Nobodyvillia Technical College 0–22 Sacula University of Music
Nobodyvillia's chance was over before it even began, they couldn't have a prayer against Sacula at all. Sacula was quick to capitalize on Nobodyvilla's failed 4-3-4 scheme and attacked down the middle, a serious run game ensued, it ended with a 46-yard run in the first quarter giving Sacula a 7-0 lead. Basically, the rest of the game resulted much of the same running and a successful use of the Air Rad offense for Sacula who walked away with a nice 22-0 win.

Calix City Institute of Archaeology (Demigods) 13–3 Faliox Falls State University (Hurricanes)
Kebec National University (Capitals) 31–20 Sacula University of Music (Musicians)

Match Recap:
Calix City Institute of Archaeology 13–3 Faliox Falls State University
Kebec National University 31–20 Sacula University of Music
CCIA returned straight back to a chance to compete for a chance to represent Kebec as they easily man-handled Faliox Falls in a 13-3 win that was decided by the 2nd quarter. Faliox Falls struck first on a seventeen yard field goal which by the luck of Thor hit the crossbar and majestically bumped in for Faliox. However, CCIA marched down to record scores of their own in two successive field goals to go up 6-3. Late in the 2nd quarter, Subarcasuax completed a 7-yard touchdown to ice the otherwise iced game.

Setting up for the Champions Cup finals, KNU traveled to Sacula to take them on it the dramatic first-ever semi-finals. As such, last second heroics were not seen as KNU ran away with a 31-20 game, icing the game with a seventeen-yard field goal. Of course, Sacula started out well, up 14-10 early on, however, the light faded away later in the game as unfortunately for a Sacula, they were unable to hold their steady lead. KNU honestly creeped into this finals, they are quite lucky to be in this at all.

Calix City Institute of Archaeology (Demigods) 34–14 Kebec National University (Capitals)

Match Recap:
Calix City Institute of Archaeology 34–14 Kebec National University
In front of 46.000 at the Asgard Coliseum in downtown Sario, CCIA came down and took the field by storm, this time, more offensive than ever. Building a substantial lead, CCIA quarterback Subercasaux was able to build a substantial profile in the final game, 23-27 with 352 total yards and 4 touchdowns. As such, our official representative for NSCF 17 in the future shall once again be Calix City Institute of Archaeology!

Preview to Season 61
---

Following an intense and surely interesting Champions Cup and NSCF's 15th season nearing to a close, its time to get into gear for the 61st running of the KGCL Elite League which will sport 14 of the nation's top universities competing against each other out on the gridiron for bragging rights, they shall vie for the Kebecois Cup. The league format remains the same as dictated by the rules which were altered in Season 39, essentially, the 14 teams shall play each other twice for a total of 28 games in the season. The top four teams will then play each other in the Kebecois Cup Playoffs and vie in the Kebec Bowl for the national title. As the Calix City Institute of Archaeology has won the KGCL Champions Cup, there are no slots open for NSCF 16 and 17. Universities finishing 13th and 14th respectively shall be confined to relegation, however, the 13th-placed team shall vie against the top-ranked team in the KGCL Star League in a relegation playoff while the 14th-placed team is automatically relegated. The tiebreakers for the league are as followed: Points, point difference, points for, head-to-head points, head-to-head difference and head-to-head points for. In the final five games, overtime shall be used while prior to that, there shall be no overtime. Currently, the defending champions are the Calix City Institute of Archaeology Demigods.
