So, what do you think about merge parts of these ideas and create something like "WGPC Reserve Division" or "WGPC2"? I believe a spec series is a good choice because it opens the opportunity to people who are interested, but do not understand the technical part (and also for the series look). We could do something like NSFC, one chassis but other parts free to choose.

Lisander wrote:I'm currently thinking about a feeder series to WGPC. The idea is still evolving, it doesn't have a name but there are some ideas:

-One Make series: The same car for each of the teams. Probably I'll search a common car design for liveries.

-Scorination: I'm thinking about using this manager game to have all of the season scorinated. This one accepts more testing stats for the driver like "Race start", "stamina" and "Wet weather".

This could even race in the WGPC break.

So in terms of a feeder series I have a few ideas based on what you proposed plus more:

The racing association could be named IOWA (International Open Wheel Association)

All cars would use this template to design their liveries. It's a model of the 2017 F1 car.

Image

They could also use this template for a top-down view, though it wouldn't be required.

Image

Race length would generally be shorter than WGPC races, same with circuit length.

Otherwise the season would generally be the same.

You guys, let me know what you think.

I have a few ideas of my own, based on FH/NSFC and my future plans for them.
With this series being a lower tier, a more appropriate car design might be called for. Enter the R-175FT (Alternate version with HGTC-size wheels). Intended to replace the current FH170T when new FH and GT regulations are adopted, the R-175FT is planned to mount a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4 generating approximately 600PS.

For race length, I think 250km (249.75km) will do.

For results generation, I'd go with something trusted like xkoranate or - as I engage in a fit of self-promotion - the successor to my GTScorinator (contains some spoilers regarding my future domestic plans).

That does sound good to me, we'll just have to decide on the timing. As Audio said, the offseason is a good time because it's a long offseason and there's no racing stuff scheduled in between. As for the name, I was thinking something not that far from what the real life feeder series used to be. Maybe WGP2. We'll have to look around for interest and see just how many of the WGPC teams are interested in joining.

So, it will be WGP2.

EDITED: With Lisander, The Redvale, Aboveland, Esmerel, Hodori, Mattijana and West-East Timor we have 14 cars, with 2 more if Former Citizens of Nimbus System that are possible to join, we reach 16. We are reaching a good number of teams.

Have you thought about privateers and part-season teams?

Now splitting roleplaying into two separate timestreams: one at the race, one in the First City on the Tuesday before the race. It should be fairly easy to work out which is which.

Well, I haven't thought about structure at all yet, when I did think of it I was thinking of simplifying things for a smaller competition by eliminating the structure used for WGPC and running with a structure where each team is only played by one person. You could have foreign drivers, of course, but everyone associated with one team would be played by that team's owner. Like I said, that would do a lot to simplify scoring the competition and I probably won't score it if I have to keep track of bonuses for teams and drivers and not one or the other.

Also, you guys may have noticed that I've dropped an ARTistic hint leading into my plans for this and next season. You'll see more and a livery(but with a different template) when I have my computer fixed which might be by next week.

Since everyone is suggesting visual improvements, here you have my contribution:

This is a X-PRO Chassis I was working, versions with and without that infamous shark-fin. It's not perfect and lacks some parts, but it's a possibility.

Well, I certainly think that I can write one of those posts; I've been planning Ryker's appearance on the podium for a short while now. I think that I'll wait for The Redvale's next post in Ryker and Maria's First City AdventuresTM for efficiency's sake, though.

Oh, it is on!

Seriously, though, you're right. We have five teams with a serious shot at the Constructors' Championship, four of them within six points of one another, and the Drivers' Championship - well, a mere twenty points split the top five and those five are most certainly not out of reach from a challenge from anyone below them. Whatever the case, this season has been fantastic; Nexus Racing will certainly be back in force next year.

It is a pretty close race, all 26 drivers still have a chance at the championship. They just need to win all four of the coming races, with anyone else earning less than 25 more points. Something crazy could happen. We saw Toralmintii take a podium after a poor form the rest of the season prior.

EDIT: Overall this season has been the rise of new heroes, given the withdrawal of V&T and Carvenlo-whatever, and the retcon of one of S14's best drivers. Next season I can see those withdrawn heroes coming back (well, maybe), and good battles to come. Let's have some fun next season.

For future reference, if I DNF in a race can others avoid writing about the way I did it without running it by me first? I had a very specific way for Maria to DNF that I can't use now because it would conflict with West East Timor. I'm not against other people RPing my characters or anything, but if it's something major like retiring from a race, it would be nice to get a TG asking if it conflicts with any plans of mine.
