NSAO Open Tourney I Host Bid:
Calix City, Kebecois

IC Information
Calix City known locally as Mogadishu, is the capital of Kebecois. Located in the coastal Banaadir region on the Indian Ocean, the city has served as an important port for millennia. As of 2015, it had a population of 2,120,000 residents. Tradition and old records assert that southern Kebecois, including the Mogadishu area, was historically inhabited by hunter-gatherers. These were later joined by Cushitic agro-pastoralists, who would go on to establish local aristocracies. During its medieval Golden Age, Mogadishu was ruled by the Muzaffar dynasty, a vassal of the Ajuran Sultanate. It subsequently fell under the control of an assortment of local Sultanates and polities, most notably the Geledi Sultanate. The city later became the capital of Italian Somaliland (1889-1936) in the colonial period. After the Kebecois became independent in 1960, Calix City became known and promoted as the White Pearl of the Indian Ocean. As Kebecois's capital city, many important national institutions are based in Calix City. Yusuf Hussein Jimaale has been the Mayor of Calix City since October 2015. Villa Calix is the official residential palace and principal workplace of the Premier of Kebecois. The establishment of a local construction yard has also galvanized the city's real-estate sector.

The tourney itself will take play at the Calix Botanical Gardens in the southwestern part of Calix City, the gardens will continue operations throughout the entire tourney. The Botanical Gardens will receive major renovations and will build a 11.000-seater temporary stadium which will house individual archery. Team archery will take place within the actual gardens at various locations. Patrons will be allowed to interact with the wildlife present but shall remain in civilized manner during the event. The Calix Botanical Gardens will be in harge of all festivities related to the event including prelude gallas and the awards ceremony. As Calix is rather hot, you are politely advised to provide yourself with some form of a visor.

Group Draw
Group Draw will take place over a Chatzy that I will link to at a later date if this bid wins hosting rights. For numbers, we have 8 teams currently.

- 8 teams: 2 groups of 4; single round robin; top two teams advance in each group
- 12 teams: 2 groups of 6; single round robin; top four teams advance in each group
- 14 teams: 2 groups of 7; single round robin; top four teams from advance in each group
- 16 teams: 4 groups of 4; single round robin; top two teams advance in each group
- 18 teams: 6 groups of 3; single round robin; top team from each group along with top two third place teams
- 20 teams: 4 groups of 5; single round robin; top two teams advance in each group; plus top two third place teams
- individuals: Ranking round

Scorinating Experience
Starliga
KIHL
Maple Leaf Bowl V

Scorinating Method
RP grading will be fair and just. I will of course the normal roster bonus and rp points will accumulate over time. RP points will not equal a win however. I will be using the latest version of Xkoranate for scorinating purpose rather than use the random generator.

Tiebreakers
Rematch between the two participants OR the one who scored more points in previous match wins.

RP Bonus
Up to 25% of the absolute effect.

If you mind me asking, why use this format for the team tournament qualifiers instead of the mass shoot typically used? And what exactly is the format you intend to use for individual qualifiers?

I like to use the groups format until the knockout stages which will be mass-shoot.
-
Edit:
Like an arcehry ranking round as I don't want to do indiv. matches until the final.

Could you be a little clearer? Are you meaning the groups will be mass-shoot? Or the knockout stages?

Can you provide an example of what you mean?

Each group non-indiv. will have indiv. matches in which the two winners from each group adv.
As for indiv., I will decide based on amount of signups.

I'm still not sure I'm understanding you. Is this what you mean?

GP 1 consists of teams A, B, C, and D. A and B are first and second in the group. GP 2 consists of teams E, F, G, and H. E and F are first and second in the group. GP 1 of the next round consists of teams A, B, E and F.

Grp. 1 is A; B; C and D. The top 2 teams are the two teams within the group who won their respective matches, thus moving on to the mass-shoot knockouts.

And what does that look like?

Sorry if this seems tedious to explain, I'm just trying to understand how you envision this running.

Congrats, Kep/Kebec and commiserations to South Shellfort. Timing and closing signups for CCO are now up to you. I suppose anyone wanting to signup for Tourney 1 or bid for one of the other remaining tourneys should mention it as soon as possible (at least for signups X3). Cutoff for Tourney 2 bids will be occurring berry soon, so please post those as well.

Cheers!

A trigram is basically three letters to represent your nation (ex. United States = USA; Canada = CAN; Qasden = QAD;etc). As for rosters, I believe the # of archers per country will be determined by the host and will be posted on the tournament's thread.
