Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the first edition of the Tyran Clubs' Cup.
The best association football clubs in all of Tyran, thanks to the enlightened patronage of the Megelanese Football Federation and the Ducal Council for Defence, Civil Protection and Sports, will convene in the fertile, green plains of the ancient Duchy of Megelan to face each other in what will beyond a doubt be an awe-inspiring display of athletic skills.

Transportation
Megelan's cities are served by an efficient bicycle/car sharing and public transportation system; for moving between cities, trains are strongly recommended: even though, in the early 20th century, an extensive motorway network was developed under the rule of the Political Futurist Party, many portions of said network have been completely abandoned following the restoration of the monarchy.
Lodging
Between the hotels in the country's main cities and the agritourism establishments in the rest of Megelan, football fans shouldn't have trouble finding a place to stay.
Weather
Visitors to Megelan can expect to be greeted by hot, and occasionally humid summer weather; it is however recommended to dress as conservatively as feasible, in order not to violate the country's strict laws on public decency.
Language
The official language of Megelan is Italian; the language of day to day communication is Insubric; Russian is widely understood, due to the country's proximity to Acrea and the centuries it spent in personal union with the state to its north, before the Revolution brought the communists to power and forced the Tsar to flee his homeland for Megelan. English and French are also spoken, to a much lesser degree.
Currency
The only accepted currency in Megelan is the Scudo, subdivided into 6 lire, each of 20 soldi or 240 denari.
Entertainment
Football fans should expect in Megelan all the entertainment options available in a developed country. The influence of the Ducal Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs and the Ducal Council for Home Affairs on this aspect of Megelanese society is however strong, and "degenerate" or "subversive" content is either banned or curtailed.
Those who bring prohibited entertainment from abroad risk being subject to corporal punishment or, in the case of content directly targeting the Megelanese monarchy or inciting rebellion, incarceration or the death penalty.
Important Laws
The Duchy of Megelan is governed by a paternalistic absolute monarchy, and subscribes to an ideology in equal parts distributist and neoreactionary, as a reaction against the rule of the progressive but tyrannical Futurist Political Party and, most importantly, to the Revolution in Acrea; to this day, the House of Zakharyin claims the Acrean throne of old.
Even though foreign visitors to Megelan can expect the authorities to be more lenient towards them than towards their own subjects, given the occasion, it is still wise to keep in mind that abortion, contraception, drugs, homosexuality, premarital sex and prostitution are illegal in the country; alcohol is legal, as are cigarettes, but public drunkenness is considered a crime.
There are no laws against ethnic, gender or religious discrimination; and the exceptionally high ratio of women in, for example, business, higher education and the military has, just like the several exceptions to the laws listed above, been encouraged only as, in the words of Governor Lorenzo Pasian, a "necessary evil" against overpopulation, to maintain Megelan at a population level optimal for the preservation of the country's "three acres and a cow" way of life.
Stadia
These are the stadia in which the competition will take place:
The Duke Cyril I Stadium in the city of Megelan; it can hold 35,000 people. The city of Megelan is known for its network of medieval canals and its majestic Neoclassical and Art Nouveau buildings. Moving around the city should be easy for any football fan, for Megelan's public transportation system is one of the best in Tyran; its early 20th century tram cars are still operational, and have reached iconic status.
The Giovanni Greppi Stadium in the city of Comm; it can seat 13,500 people. It is right next to Lake Lario, that can be admired from the stadium's own stands.
The Municipal Stadium in the city of Nuara; it can hold 17,000 people.
The Municipal Stadium in the city of Lugan; it can seat 10,500 people.
The Achille Pecci Stadium in the city of Tesin; it can hold 4000 people. The former capital of the Winnili, a barbarian tribe who unified the territory of today's Megelanese state for the first time in its history back in the 6th century, Tesin is characterized by its high concentration of medieval buildings, civil and religious alike; it also hosts the country's oldest university.
The City of Meta Stadium in the eponymous city; it can seat 2500 people.
The Municipal Stadium in the city of Argenzia; it can hold 3500 people. Argenzia is well known for its cheese and, despite the closeness to the capital, looks more like a quaint rural village than an actual city.
The Piero Guidali Stadium in the city of Busti Grandi; it can seat 4500 people.
Teams
Each competing state will field the first and the second placed team in the most recent edition of their association football championship; if a country doesn't have a football championship of its own, it is allowed to field any two teams, with the exception, of course, of the national team.
Megelan will be represented in the tournament by Ambrosiana and F.A.S..
Ambrosiana was founded in 1908 in the capital, and is the most successful Megelanese team ever, being tied with fellow Megelan based team (and rivals) Megelan C.F.C. for number of championships won, and having never been relegated. It won the last Megelanese First Division, narrowly beating F.A.S. for first place.
