BACKGROUND
Located in Norkodsav is the Norkodsav Raiders, a team in the 16-team Kirde-Mägi Hoki Liigamäng or KMHL (North-Eastern Mountain Hockey League). Noted for its Grajoser Cup wins in 1987, 1993 and 1998, the team has recently fallen on hard times in the league, finishing in the lower half of the league and possessing the league record of 10 seasons not qualifying for the playoffs. Despite this, the citizens of Norkodsav and the surrounding towns and villages still come and cheer on the team zealously, even though they have not seen very much success in the past. With the team finishing last season with an 11-29-5 record, the General Manager of the Raiders, Okider Zayilin was fired by the owner of the Raiders, who hired former OJL assistant coach, Jakob Verilyier as the new General Manager of the Raiders.
Verilyier's first task was to have the team finally finish the season with a .500 win percentage or more. How he plans to do this would be to use what all of the teams in the KMHL have neglected to do: bring in foreign talent. Right now, the Norkodsav Raiders are currently taking applications from foreign players, whether if they're professional or coming right out of university or college. Who knows, maybe you'll be one of the lucky players to be taken onto the Raiders' roster.
OOC
In this RP, unlike other NSSport RPs, you'll be controlling one character in this. Since this RP is very character-driven, you'll be experiencing the effects of full on professional hockey. This means, you'll have to deal with fans, your teammates' shenanigans, the coach yelling at the team, 6 am bag skates, living in a foreign country and more, without actually having to experience it. That being said, the KMHL is not a top tier hockey league like the NHL or KHL, but rather more of the quality of the SHL or Finnish Liiga, so please be realistic with your players as none of them are going to be major league superstars.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- If your character does not perform to their position, or has attitude problems, or so forth, they will suffer the consequences of their actions (i.e. be benched during games, see themselves moved in the roster or even scratched).
