Procedural Notes

• The late entries of Cosumar, Valanora and Filindostan were accepted.
• Filindostan's association is also reminded to submit entries based on actual sporting merit next season or risk being excluded in the next edition of the tournament.

IUBC Trophy

• 24 teams directly enter the group stage - The champions or the highest placed teams of each association (14 total), the titleholder of the IUBC Trophy (1 total), and the second placed teams of the nine highest ranked associations entered in the tournament (9 total).
• The remainder of the spots will be determined by the qualifying rounds. The third placed team of the lowest four entered associations will participate in the qualifying round. The remaining teams will be placed in the playoffs for the 8 remaining group stage spots.

Host Voting
One bid was received by the IUBC committee. As such, the IUBC will visit Tjorl as the Ivan Arena at Kjol, Tjorl will host this edition's IUBC Trophy playoffs.

Valanari Highlanders became the fourth team to win the IUBC's biggest competition after Trewich Urbanites, Wurlington Dynamos, and Carloburgo Knights. They also tie the Wurlington Dynamos, Broncos de Chihuahua, and Carloburgo Knights with the most finals two placings in the IUBC.

Guidelines for Entry in IUBC XVII

• Each nation is entitled to three entries, with their champion listed first. Please follow the format for submission in the OP.
• Valanari Highlanders (VAL) automatically qualify for the group stages of the IUBC Trophy, even if the association fails to submit their entries to the competition, except in cases of CTE. If they do not qualify via league, an extra spot will be awarded for them. If they qualify as the league champions of Valanora, the group stage spot for the league champions will be vacated.
• Multiassociational leagues are entitled to six entries, with at most four from one nation.

Hosting the Playoffs

• Participating nations are entitled to bid for hosting the playoffs of the IUBC Trophy. Please follow the details in the OP. Further detail is strongly encouraged.
• Bidding nations are reminded that their submitted bid will not only host the final four but the entire playoffs including the classification games.
• Tjorl, as the nation of the winning bid, will not be eligible to bid for the hosting of the playoffs.
• If there are no bids received, the host venue will be defaulted to Ismart Anetta Coliseum, San Marco, Filindostan.

Deadline for entries for the seventeenth edition of the IUBC is on Wednesday, January 30, 2018, 5:55 PM (UTC+8).

An epicenter to orange spheres in the land of cats, "The Cap" serves as the largest indoor stadium in Qasden. Excluding the large amount of seating for fans from all around, MaxCap offers several other amenities exclusive to the particular arena. Wanna watch the game from the multiverse's only permanent Feasties' restaurant? You got it! Wanna bet on matches for a chance to win a trip to exotic Drawkland? MaxCap's gotcha covered! We could go on and on about the other stuff here, but we'd rather keep this short, aye?

Anyways, besides housing two QRBL teams (TVC Tabbies and Titans), MaxCap has also had it's share in the international business, prominently hosting the championship series of IBC 23, among other things. T.V. City itself has a thriving basketball community, so it wouldn't be uncommon to see random Qads cheer on foreign teams during the playoffs. With calm morning showers and cats for every human and neko, who wouldn't want to come here! (Unless you had a cat allergy, ofc.)

Procedural Notes

• Valanari Highlanders (VAL) have been entered to the group stage of this edition, despite the association not submitting its entries.

IUBC Trophy

• 24 teams directly enter the group stage - The champions or the highest placed teams of each association (16 total), the titleholder of the IUBC Trophy (1 total), and the second placed teams of the seven highest ranked associations entered in the tournament with 3 or more teams (7 total).
• The remainder of the spots will be determined by the qualifying rounds. The next seven second placed teams will be placed in the playoff round. The remaining teams will start in the qualifying round.

Host Voting
One bid was received by the IUBC committee. As such, the IUBC will visit Qasden for the first time as the MaxCap Stadium in T.V. City, Qasden will host this edition's IUBC Trophy playoffs.

With the two winningest teams in the Filindostan era of the IUBC facing each other in the Round of 16, other teams, particularly Seaddle Subsonics and the rest of the teams took the opportunity to be at the finals in Qasden. Riding the momentum of having the IUBC held at Qasden, Qad City Capillaries made the Final Four, eliminating both Equestrian teams remaining in the competition, only to be thwarted by the first Filindostani team to reach the IUBC Final. They, too did not win the title - this belonged to Carloburgo Knights, winning the Trophy for the third time, the first team to do so in IUBC's history.

Guidelines for Entry in IUBC XVIII

• Each nation is entitled to three entries, with their champion listed first. Please follow the format for submission in the OP.
• Carloburgo Knights (VLD) automatically qualify for the group stages of the IUBC Trophy, even if the association fails to submit their entries to the competition, except in cases of CTE. If they do not qualify via league, an extra spot will be awarded for them. If they qualify as the league champions of Valladares, the group stage spot for the league champions will be vacated.
• Ko-oren is reminded to submit entries on sporting merit for the next edition, or risk exclusion from the next edition of the IUBC. (OOC: I only realized the resubmission of entries while checking the entries to grade RP bonuses, in which I already posted the procedural notes by then.)
• Multiassociational leagues are entitled to six entries, with at most four from one nation.

Hosting the Playoffs

• Participating nations are entitled to bid for hosting the playoffs of the IUBC Trophy. Please follow the details in the OP. Further detail is strongly encouraged.
• Bidding nations are reminded that their submitted bid will not only host the final four but the entire playoffs including the classification games.
• Qasden, as the nation of the winning bid, will not be eligible to bid for the hosting of the playoffs.
• If there are no bids received, the host venue will be defaulted to Ismart Anetta Coliseum, San Marco, Filindostan.

Deadline for entries for the eighteenth edition of the IUBC is on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 7:55 PM (UTC+8).
