Scorination Info
All events will be scored using the tennis module on xkoranate 0.3.3. All singles events will use the 3 set format; doubles at the Antillia Masters and Fresko Royal Nikolian Open will also use the 3 set format; all other doubles events will use the super-tiebreak format. RP bonus for these events will be cumulative throughout the event and will apply to all tournaments going on at the same time. RP bonus will account for 40% of the skill value. RPs will be graded fro 0 to 10 and scaled relatively to the highest cumulative RP bonus. Therefore, RPing will be extremely important during this series. Due to the fact that this is a fairly large undertaking, I may have assistant scorinators; these will be announced in advance of any event that will use them. A host bonus of 0.1 of max will be given only during the Antillia Masters and Fresko Royal Nikolian Open events, and it will only be given to Costeño players, not Cenian players. Please ask any and all questions.

All RPs and results for this series will be posted in this thread. You can ask questions in the Signups/OOC thread.

The tennis season in 2044 sought opportunities for many young Madesene professional players, especially the most endorsed Madesene tennis pro Gabe Anderson after he finished as a semifinalist in the 2044 Electrum Slam II, from Centralis, Electrum. The Electrumite summer electrified many players' performance with the crowd and the surrounding environment overall, setting off spectacular matches to be played. One of the most anticipated matches was Gabe Anderson taking on world number one Cenian Elaine Foyner. Anderson and Foyner ended up playing a 4 hour 5 set match that Anderson claimed victory over, making headlines like never before back home in Madesu. Another spectacular Madesene player, Sajjad de Sauveterre played and won the longest match of the tournament against Danish Bachchan after 5 hours and 3 minutes of epic play. Truly, 2044 was an epic tennis season, for many Madesene players became underdogs, history makers, and sources of inspiration.

2045 is the new year, and the Griffencrest Paradise City Open is to kick of the New Year with a lot of potential for all players; anything could happen. Madesene players are in higher ranks in ATP tennis with an abundant amount of professional experience, and so are other foreign tennis players, and that is what will make the 2045 ATP season a good one. Madesenes will take on the world's best of the best ever recorded in tennis history here in the Astyrian Series; newer obstacles will be witnessed, as well as newer history in the making.

Here are the Madesenes playing in the Griffencrest Paradise City Open:

73. Rafferty Henri

Big server, excellent ground stroker. Lost in 5 sets on day 1 of Electrum Slam after 3 hours 43 minutes.

33. Benoit/Hamilton made it to day 3 in the Electrum Slam.
Glenn Benoit
25 years old, 6'4, 193 pounds.
Mostly all-round, special net player.

Drummond Hamilton

Kannapian News Network: Sports

Kannap Looks for a Promising Year of Tennis

The Premier of Kannap, Jeremy Andersson gave a speech yesterday after the end of the ATP World Tour Finals, praising tennis and all sports. He was proud to be the leader of the nation that hosted the first ATP tournament and the final ATP tournament. Thus was a huge honor for the nation of Kannap and the people were proud to see the tournament go by without a problem from the Kannapian Anti-Olympic Society. The government now claims that the terrorist organization has been destroyed and won't bother anyone anymore. The Premier says that the organization has paid for their crimes in the way of the highest punishment: death.

But that is all behind us now. The Kannapian people are looking towards the new year upon us. Tennis is the fan favorite once again, since it is the national sport. Brianna Powell and Samantha Powell are expected to be fan favorites, especially after their recent marriage. The two are expected to rocket upwards in the rankings this year and please the Kannapian masses. Becky Short is also returning to the international tennis scene, leaving Kannapians to wander when she is finally going to retire. She went into a brief retirement about two years ago but returned about half a year ago. We don't know how much longer she is going to stay in the international sporting community.

The big event that Kannapians are excited for is the Fifth Kinterten. This tournament has brought Kannap into the international tennis spotlight every time it gets hosted. It is currently unknown when the tournament is to be scheduled, but the construction of the Brianna Powell Tennis Complex will hopefully be complete before then.

Ferret Civilization Sports

After achieving moderate success in the international affairs of the sporting world, it was decided to finally make it a full out thing within The Colony. Especially with what was considered a major success in the sport of Tennis, it was decided to overhaul the sport and standardize it to meet with foreign regulations. With everyone being new to the scene still, it is unsure whether it was the luck of one or a team effort that will help get the names of Ferrets out there. Only time will truly tell if this was all worth it, testing the theory out has proven successful, so this will be one of the first serious sporting events to see if this can be a real thing. Many other nations already have top quality athletes and have sports that they can call their own and dominate in, well, here we are to try to see if we can make a name for ourselves too. Understanding how difficult that task is and how long it would take to complete it. The new sports members from our nation have a lot set before them, and in the end it still doesn't matter how they perform, as long as they do it well.

The whole team that our nation was able to produce does not have a name for themselves like others, they are all unproven, barely any experience at all. The competitors have a large advantage over them, and not just in skill alone. With a lot of obstacles the only thing we have is a can do attitude and a team willing to support each other no matter what. We here in The Colony look forward to seeing what happens no matter what and what our fellow Ferrets can do while playing the games and representing us abroad. Hopefully we can all learn something from the fellow players from other nations too, and use that to help us be better in the games. This being the first official time playing in this event, it can not be said enough how we all look forward to it.

Asløg Lis and the rest of the makeshift team read that part of the report in the news as they prepared for the trip and the games. There was eight of them; four males and four females plus the manager. Smaller team probably compared to the rest of them, and not just in numbers but in size also. Being sent abroad they had all read the other reports from the other sports teams that had already done this. They all looked forward to being able to experience such a thing. The Colony was working hard to get their name out there, and they were all lucky enough to be chosen to help with that mission. They were all ready to go too, excited as usual for them, to see what awaited. For all they knew they would just end up losing every game, but like the other teams in this Interest they would do it in style and do everything possible to lose less badly than they could have without trying. Going up against probably some of the best from other nations just like some fellow Ferrets had done, it was something to be proud of.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

This year, it's set to be different. Britonisea in World Sports is a failure, and Sports Councillors aimed to changed that in to a myth. Starting with tennis. Although this may be our national sport, Britonisea struggles to keep up with larger names in the sport, especially Ceni. Later last year, The ABEN Team Games were held and a lot of Britonish Tennis Top 10 were bumped out of the Doubles competition in the first round, but newer faces were surfacing. The line up for the series is also different, not too different, but a change religious tennis fans will notice. "This year, Britonisea is going to work hard to try and claim a dominating status within tennis. And although we don't have the best of pushes to help us achieve this, we have a very good team behind us.

Every single nation believes that their year in tennis will be a glorious one, and when the final few events come by, they start to doubt that. That won't be the reaction from Britonisea this year. But first, we need to get through the challanges and obsticles to come. The Britannual Britonish Open III is set to happen soon after the Astyrian Series and tickets have already been sold out for the first few days on Centre Court. The Britannual Britonish Open III is set to be "different and unique" in comparison to other tournaments within the cycle. The first change is location. The Britannual Britonish Open is set to take place in Quickenden, which is known to some participants here. Held in the Quickenden Tennis Complex, the BBO will change because of the timings of matches. In Quickenden, it gets light very early and dark around 6pm. This means that matches could start at 8am, or even sooner. The BBO3 is promised to inspire the younger generation and possibly including an U-15 competition alongside the Open, that's if the NTT will allow it. Finally, the capacity of each court will be different though this will be shown at a later date. The World Tour Final is something that must return "home" after Kannap successfully hosted the 2nd Finals. "It is important that the World Tour Finals III is held in Britonisea, the place where the First was held. We want to host the World Tour Finals to end a season full of ups and downs." Says the Sports Minister of Britonisea.

The beginning of illusions.

The starting bell, that sound indicating the beginning of a new season, a new cycle for the Fluviquean sport and, particularity, for the paysan tennis. The victory of Juan Gabriel Fernandez in the bronze medal match of the Olympics was the starting point of the national tennis rebirth. A key factor was the huge overhaul of the Royal Lawn Tennis Club and the construction of facilities in the provinces. Last year was the best of Fluvique in many years.

In that context the things are going. With the year starting the Griffencrest Paradise City Open is the first stop in the tour, the first challenge for the Fluviqueans and for the board at home, expecting to see if the results of investment and effort is translated in wins. However, this is a long-term plan according to Géraud Lefévre, president of the Royal Lawn Tennis Association,: We have a lot of players in the country, in age of compete. For them, we made many changes and we support them to the tour. And later added: But the most important is the investment and the new facilities for the young, those which will be the future of our sport.

Taylor Van Rossem, Wilfred Foss, Ed Sneijder and Des Nigel will be the representatives of Fluvique, all of them with different realities on their backs, but with the same illusion: win the first game in the tour's match.

"Neu Engollon and our International viewers, good evening. You’re watching Courtside Central on NETV Sports 19. I'm your host, Lizbet Rittenhaus and with me is my co-host, Dom Toglani.”

“Thanks Liz....Hello Neu Engollon and the world. Once again, we have a big event. The first big one of the new season of the NSTT. The Astyrian Series.”

“Dom, this is the home turf series for the NETC and for the Confederacy, obviously. Basically, everyone is coming into their backyard. First up is the Griffencrest Paradise City Open...Later on in the Series, The Burgunden Breueries Open, of course, sponsored by the large beverage company that is synonymous with Neu Engollon in many parts of the world. It will be held in Panoli at the beautiful courts of Vergragarten...”

“Indeed, Lizbet. Even though the major tournaments of this series, a major leg for the NSTT year, are in Costa de Ouro and Nikolia, one could definitely say that the NETC team is defending their turf, no matter what stretch of Astyria the courts happen to be on.”

“That is with the Costenans alongside, also defending Astyrian honor.”

“Accorzu. Right. Defending against the non-Astyrians - the Cenians, the Pemecutans, the Electrumites, the Madesans, the Britonish and the rest. Beating them down with their rackets!”

“Ha ha. Yes...maybe it’s a little melodramatic. After all, this being the second or third go around that many of these players have been through with each other on the full circuit, many of them have gotten to know each other over the past year or two. Seriously though, tennis has a way of reaching over borders and barriers and breaking through all that xenophobic nonsense. I think in reality, there’s a lot of respect among the players from all the participating nations.”

“With some exceptions, of course, on the Confederacy’s very own NETC team. Don’t look at me like that, Lizbet, I won’t mention names, but we know who I’m talking about.”

“Moving on...Last year the Griffencrest Open in Paradise City, which kicks the Astyrian Series off every year, was a dismal affair for the NETC team."

"Including yourself, Liz."

“Yes, including me, Dom. Thanks for the reminder...ha. No worries...So, it was a bad start for me and my teammates. None of us made it through to the Group of 32, the next stage. Now, I’m not with them, but I hardly think that will effect the performance of the NETC players this time around. A lot of them are in much better standing than they were last year and I think we can expect...I hope we can...a better start out of the gates this time around.”

“If we want to talk about defending Astyrian honor, we would definitely have to look to the Costenans at that time. Who are expected to do well again this Series, but for sure I think we’ll see a NETC team reborn this year’s Series. The only Neu Engollian player to really do consistently well was...Paul Quiront.”

“...sigh...Yes. Paul. He will play his best as will all of the NETC team. Being the second year in the NSTT circuit certainly helps to turn their chances around from a fresh, green group trying to breech the points board at all to a solid, if not seasoned, veteran team that should confidently travel through a good part of the way in this Series at least.”

“With team anchors like Marla Gerard, Alma Semmes and Paul Quiront, I think that is without question, Liz. Also, we see two of our newest additions to the NETC team having to make it through the qualifying rounds and we just have to cross our fingers on this one, Lizbet.”

“Dom, we certainly do, but it's not all luck. Marco Vrient and Felice Mareaux are up against some more experienced players in the qualifying round and they have to really put forth the maximum effort here in their upcoming matches. Thankfully, with the tight unit that the NETC team is...with exceptions, as you pointed out, Dom...these new players have had a lot of peer coaching along the way. Even during their stint in the Youth bracket, the older pros were there to bring them up and along and give them lots of pointers. That’s why the team managers and coaches are very hands off with the NETC team, because most of the work is done for them at the team player level. Ultimately, they will have to face each other on the court, as well as foreign players, to get in the top slots, but there is still a lot of cooperative effort out there.”

“Well said, Lizbet. We need to go to a break, but when we come back, we’ll have more on the rookie players of the NETC and some insight into their origins and reviewing their school records. Stay tuned.”

“We’ll be back right after this sponsor break, folks…”

"Where's my pink tennis top and black skort?" Marisa Celeste asked her protégé.

"Right here!" Gisela Stefanovic said while pointing at the outfit on the hanger.

"Thank you, Gisela," the Imperatrix responded. Then a sigh came from the tennis player as she longed to think about taking Gisela out on a date and maybe even more. The sound of Gisela getting her own outfit ended the daydream.

"How do you think this would look on me?" Gisela asked her mentor. She too seems to think of her mentor as pretty and attractive.

"Cute, and best yet... we kind of match!" Marisa Celeste exclaimed. Cute enough I want to marry you no less.

"I hadn't noticed and you look amazing yourself," Gisela said back with a smirk on her face.

"Oh, boy... How am I going to explain this to Gisela that I want to go out with her and that I'm a lesbian?" Marisa Celeste kind of muttered to herself. Gisela was close enough that she could hear the muttering.

"I am a lesbian myself, and you're just like me. A feminine girl who plays tennis," Gisela responded.

"I wasn't expecting you to be so forth coming about this, Gisela. You're a lesbian?" Marisa Celeste asked her protégé.

"Yeah, how could you not figure out I was flirting with you sooner?" Gisela asked.

"I was too engrossed in both developing your tennis game and admiring your lithe physique grace the tennis courts," Marisa Celeste said.

"Do you think we should start working out together?" Gisela inquired.

"Yes. We should do this daily and since we're both very feminine, nobody will suspect we're lovers. Not that the High Empress minds, she adopted me because she's unable to have kids due to the fact of being both a transgender woman and a lesbian," Marisa Celeste said.

"That makes a lot of sense. She adopted you because she can't have kids due to the hormones," Gisela said.

"Yes, and she has her own wife but she always refers to her as the Starlet," Marisa Celeste said.

It was the first set of games for them now, the four of them playing were more than excited to see what the games they were about to play held. In all reality and seriousness they weren't really expecting much. While other teams fielded by their nation did better than expected, in the end they still didn't get far. Granted, they did have a few exceptions, and they looked forward to seeing which one of them would be that exception, or if there would be one. Ástríður and Alwyn spent most of the time jesting with each other while the rest of the team got ready for the games in one way or another. Asløg was busy getting ready to keep track of everything for the final report she had to make just like every other managers had done for The Colony. She looked up at the others, "Ready?"

Iohanna Márcia Enderssen-Moura (NTN) 6 4 3
Ástríður Eydís (FCF) 2 6 6

David Corby (OIS) 5 6
Ceallachán Amhlaoibh (FCF) 7 7

Samira Varjanis (FIC) 5 4
Alwyn Pedr (FCF) 7 6

Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 7 6
Roger Ibaraki (KRY) 5 3

The odds had seemed in their favor that they would at least win one of the games that they were playing in for this round. None of them realized that they would all win their first game. Ástríður was the only one to seem to struggle a little bit more than the rest of them, though they all pushed hard for the wins they had earned. For a bunch of Ferrets they had really done themselves proud with that first round, though it was most probably that it would not last, they would enjoy those after moments for a long time. Alwyn laughed after he and Ástríður finished their games, "Perhaps you should focus on training a little more there."

"Oh just enjoy it for now."

"I think I will." Alwyn started before Ceallachán decided to join in at that moment with a chuckle himself, "You know I have more points than you scored so far, and if I'm not mistaken so does Ástríður."

"But... But." Alwyn started before they all laughed except for him, "Yeah, now we will just wait and see now. How about that practice?" None of them really meant to be hurtful, it was just their own way of having fun with what they were doing while they could. No matter what they would be willing to stick together, it was the least they could do since it wasn't like they had a group of fans with them. They were each others fans, and for a bunch of nobodies that was more than a lot for such a thing. It was even more that for a bunch of inexperienced nobodies to win their entire first set of games. By testing standards they had already succeeded at their goal of just trying, and they looked forward to continuing doing just that, whether result in winning or losing. In the end they would look forward to whatever was to come and talk about it with much excitement later on.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

"What do you mean we both lost? We looked pretty out there and that's what matters, right?" Gisela asked her implied girlfriend Marisa Celeste.

"Not exactly, at least you faired better against Taylor Van Rossum than I did against my foe. I would have been better off wearing red," Marisa Celeste said with a smirk. Then Gisela starts to tug on Marisa's arm and whispers about practicing.

The two started to practice their serves between the matches as the performances were lacking. This was more than just a mentor and student but more like the hit song by The Police involving the teacher's pet where Gisela was the pet and Marisa the teacher.

With such a great start to the earlier games the entire team looked forward to seeing what the next games would be like too. They were going to be quiet busy with the games for now on and Asløg wanted them to at least try and have more fun. While that part was pretty much over they could still try unofficially since it seemed to do the others some good. Nine of them in a foreign place, she was surprised that none of the others tried harder to get more out there, since there was so much to see in do in any sort of place. They did probably stand out too much to try and do such a thing, though that didn't stop them from at least trying to make their own fun. "So you do you think will be the first to lose a game now that you have all proven that you are ready?"

Alwyn pointed at Ástríður, "I have no idea." He laughed, "Might be me."

Ástríður Eydís (FCF) 6 6
Georgia Bassett (KRY) 3 2

Marco Vrient (NEG) 1 6 3
Ceallachán Amhlaoibh (FCF) 6 4 6

Noelle Dennis (KRY) 2 6
Alwyn Pedr (FCF) 6 7

Aljaž Isaac (EFL) 4 2
Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 6 6

After another exciting set of events of cheering each other on as they all went through their individual games they all looked at each other. None of them had lost a game yet. That was pretty exciting all over again, worth a celebration, just like about anything else went it came to Ferrets trying to do something new. They all joked about how it could have been probable that they were going to lose now since the math was definitely against them all. Alwyn had the most fun with it, "Ceallachán, looked like it was harder for you today."

"I know what you are getting at. Remember this, I still have more points than you do." Ceallachán laughed, it playfully shut Alwyn up. There was always another day of games in the event that could change it all, but for now they would enjoy it all they could. Since it was going to turn on them eventually, it just had too, but until then Asløg's report was looking better than ever.

Quintius Marci (FIC) 1 3
Ástríður Eydís (FCF) 6 6

Ceallachán Amhlaoibh (FCF) 7 6
Marisa Celeste Frieri, Imperatrix of Ljubljana (SRB) 5 3

Alwyn Pedr (FCF) 3 6
Livinia Moore (ETM) 6 7

Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 6 6
Ion Victor Amúlio (NTN) 2 2

The event only continued to get more exciting for the group of nobodies in the competition, even if the team faced its first loss. Three of them continued on improbably strong. Ástríður and Ceallachán practice together continued to pay off even with Alwyn's encouragement, though he had to take part of the make shift practice when they all did it too. The competition for him this time was harder, they all over worked themselves a lot during the games to make up for their size, but it finally got to one of them. At least now it settled the question for them and even though he had lost he and the rest of them seemed to be doing extremely well, even though they had been wearing themselves out.

"What happened out there Alwyn?" Ceallachán asked when their games were all over for them. "Trying to prove your own prediction right."

"Yep, what do I win?"

"A loss." They both chuckled, they were doing amazing compared to how they could have been doing and were having fun with what it must be like for a great team that always wins to suddenly have a loss. Must feel like how the other teams felt when they all went through their own individual games, since it seemed like all Ferrets were a like when playing games. This time though the event was a little longer since now their whole team was playing.

Llinos Cairistìona / Säde Kaja (FCF) 7 6
Ray Franco / Jennifer Rawlings (KRY) 5 1

Birger Gwil / Hermanni Conall (FCF) 2 6 6
Alyson Shore/Aliza Shore (SWI) 6 4 10

With the double games over it was more interesting, mostly because it was probably closer to how the event should be going overall for all of them. Ástríður, Ceallachán, Alwyn, and Dagmar enjoyed watching the others play and taking a better break for once like they had been doing for their games. They were there to return the favor of being a fan group back to them, something they could at least do well. With the games being split fifty fifty on win ratios, it proved to make an interesting conversations, especially with Alwyn. "Dagmar, why are you so quiet?"

She looked at him, "What? I haven't been quiet, your too busy be loud while the females do better than you." Dagmar laughed after that with Ástríður, Ceallachán looked at them, "Hey, it can change."

"Since when were you on my side Ceallachán?" Alwyn chuckled, "Oh just learn to take the help while you can get it." They both chuckled while the others not playing in the double games looked at them, "What? Come on focus on the games." They all did just that, being as supportive as possible. Llinos and Säde seemed to work really well together for a first attempt, so did Birger and Hermanni, though they ended up putting up a winning effort for a losing game. Didn't change any of their attitudes, they were going to take the wins they had and work with those instead of focusing on the downfalls.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

NSTT News
NationStates tennis turns new leaf with first tournament in New Year

The NationStates Tennis Tour returns to Astyria for the inaugural series of clay court tournaments, heading to Paradise City, Blackhelm Confederacy, home to the global corporation Griffencrest, which is sponsoring this year's edition. But it does so under a different name than last year - where it held events in Astyria as the Association of Tennis Professionals. Last year, Kika Dovan won her first title on the circuit, defeating Carmen Doyle of the Andromeda Islands, 6-3, 7-5.

World number four Kika Dovan returns to defend her title as the first seed. She will face qualifier Marcus Gabriel Alencastro in the first round of the event. Meanwhile, Marisa Maradona, world no.11 and TOCAO singles champion, hits the clay circuit for the first time, at this tournament the second seed; the precocious 17-year-old will play tour veteran Lance Mance of Britonisea in the first round. Amancio Raimundo Belo, who has one title and a grand slam final under his belt, is seeded third; Costenho Andre Pedrinho Delgado is seeded fourth. Gabe Anderson, Electrum Slam semifinalist, makes his return to tennis in the new year, drawing qualifier Becky Short of Kannap. Danjiella Zovic, an Astyrian player and home hope, is recording her first time as a seeded player; she drew a qualifier as well. Neia Dovan, 7th seed, could draw her sister Kika in the quarterfinals, but only if she gets through qualifier Sukaina Yunan of Easfield Lodge. Dominic Ripaldi of Neu Engollon rounds out the top 8 seeds.

Other players to watch are the youngsters Marco Vrient and Felice Mareaux, both of Neu Engollon, who made their NSTT debuts through the qualifying draw; Dioro Hansil, the serve-and-volley specialist who is hoping to earn some more ranking points on the points-laden clay circuit; Martin Bond and Rafferty Henri, two other Madesuns making their return to tennis; the three (out of four) Ferret players that qualified, all from Ferret Civilization, whose Ainsley Eurig won the gold medal in women's singles at the Olympics; and Brianna Powell, the young Kannapian superstar.

In the doubles draw, which has yet to be fully filled out due to the last day of qualification, first seeds Coosal Darlcheri and Gyrachor Rentos return to defend their title, facing the dangerous duo of Alma Semmes and Danjiella Zovic. TOCAO doubles champions Leo Garry and Elizabeth Quehall hope to rebound from their poor showing at the World Tour Finals, but they face Olympic gold medal winners Hunter Roberts and Carmichael Brown. Third seeds Will Nolovor and Kell Korden hope to have a winning start to their year with a victory over a qualifier, TBD, while fourth seeds Thierry Garzala and Matthias Doerwald also hope to have a fruitful start to their partnership, but they have a tough draw against Ivanovic and Jovanovic, who hit the top ten together last year. Other teams to watch include Olympic mixed doubles gold medalists Amancio Raimundo Belo and Natalia Emilia Garcia, as well as Olympic women's doubles silver medalists Brianna Powell and Samantha Powell of Kannap.

A player party is scheduled for Friday as the NSTT celebrates the second anniversary of the ATP, as well as ceremonies at the home offices in Cenial.

It was going to get more interesting for the team members that were still playing in the singles now that it was starting to get tougher and tougher. Alwyn was already the first out, though since by this point it really should have been more no one was complaining, well, maybe Ástríður, who had to put up with him. Other than that it was business as usual for the little group they made up. Each of them had all been doing great, Asløg figured it had to do with luck, either that or Ferret were better gifted at Tennis compared to the other sports Ferrets had played in. Either that or this was individual groups and members so the math could have been statistically different when it came to odds. Though even with that they were doing way better than they probably should have been. Still, no reason to complain for them, only the competition would get harder, but they were doing themselves and each other proud by getting through it, whether victorious or not they were a team no matter how individual the games they played in.

Livinia Moore (ETM) 6 1
Ceallachán Amhlaoibh (FCF) 7 6

Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 2 6 6
Andrew Simmons (ETM) 6 2 3

Brianna Powell (KAN) 6 6
Ástríður Eydís (FCF) 3 2

And just as predicted during the individual games things were continuing to get tougher, and would continue to do so as they went on. All the over working effort put in had finally started to get to Dagmar and it had knocked Ástríður out of the game. While Dagmar was able to pull through, she wasn't able to keep up with the competition. Which was really just to be expected, if it had happened earlier, though Alwyn could have been happier, he was pretty smug. "Looks like my prediction was right."

"Yeah, you got yourself out and put all that bad luck on me." Ástríður laughed, "Well then just stay away from everyone else then."

"Will do, you are the only company I need." That just got the team looking at him. Well they still had the doubles games to focus on now, along with the future individual games, which only Ceallachán and Dagmar continued to go strong in, even with their little periods of over stressing their bodies. They were all still ready to cheer on their teammates in the doubles games though just like they had done for them in their individual games.

Tijana Mirkic/Marika Kanepi-Vukovic (SRB) 2 2
Llinos Cairistìona / Säde Kaja (FCF) 6 6

Márcus Gabriel Alencastro/Mihai Caeso Mihailescu (NTN) 1 5
Birger Gwil / Hermanni Conall (FCF) 6 7

As for the double games they seemed to have an each seemed to have an easier time, though they were in the earlier part of their event of games. Though Llinos and Säde continued on strong, doing everything they could to keep the lead in the games. Ceallachán had commented only once during their game saying 'They really know how to put their tails into it.' And at that time they sure seemed to know how to do just that. Birger and Hermanni also seemed to have picked up on how to play effectively, or maybe it was just better luck. Either way in the end they also managed to win, though they also had one loss, it was way better than nothing at all. Asløg was more than surprised by how well the team was doing as she continued to add to the report, nothing more than game outcomes but it showed a lot for a bunch of nobodies.

After that they had all decided to celebrate after all the games were over for the time being. With everything that happened they had been doing very well and had not been enjoying themselves as well as they could have. The females in the group could have been doing better playing, but the males knew how to complete the party. It was a fun time for all of them, especially being a new and rather unfamiliar place without being as scared as they could have been. At least they were together, it helped each other out a lot.

Llinos Cairistìona / Säde Kaja (FCF) 6 6
John Slippery/Lord Bender (OIS) 2 1

Birger Gwil / Hermanni Conall (FCF) 7 4 10
Isa Maize/Lea Chang (USD) 6 6 6

During the next set of games the focus shifted off the individual's players and onto the double's players. Just like for the singles it was getting tougher and tougher for them too. Though the females seemed to continue on strong, the males seemed to struggle again. Even though in the end they too ended up winning the game and recovering from miscommunication and fatigue. After that considering the fact that they could consider some among themselves still going strong was still exciting all unto itself. They all just wondered how far each of them would make it, given the fact some teams here were great, it could not have been that far, but they so far had gotten further than expected. Even though they were trying to win, no one actually thought they actually stood a chance at doing just that. All they could do for now was prepare for the future games.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

Paradise City - Round of 32

PARADISE CITY - The first tournament of the new 2016 ATP season so far has seen spectacular wins and losses as players are determined to maintain a healthy diet and emphasize practice after practice after practice. Seeing that many players were and are able to put those words into action many fans can agree this 2016 ATP season will be a promising one. We've seen tons of awesome matches being played in the qualification phase of the tournaments; many of the qualifiers appeared to be Ferrets, kicking off a seemingly interesting season.

Madesu's well-known lefty Adebowale Gilliam took on a fellow Kannapian Samantha Powell in straight sets today. Gilliam started off the match phenomenally as he was able to maintain a very high 1st serve percentage, 88% in the first set. Leading 4-love Powell began to shake things up as she started a serve-and-volley type of play against the big lefty. After ideal movements and good placements Powell was able to gain one game in the first set, and Gilliam was able to break and serve to gain the first set, and he did. After Powell gained her first game of the match her game was not the same as when she began; serve-and-volley was more common in her play. Gilliam's ground-stroking power as well as Powell's serve-and-volley was a major factor which made the second set much more intense and quite entertaining. The Kannapian and Madesene were able hold their serves until they made it to the tie-break, not leaving out the fact that both were determined to break each others' service games. During the second set tie-break Gilliam managed to power himself out of the rising pressure to stay and win the match by hitting a few aces and winners, and eventually he was able to claim an outstanding 6-1, 7-6 victory over the Kannapian.

The 6'5" Madesene Rafferty Henri was unable to overcome fellow Engollian Dominic Ripaldi to commence his season well. Henri and Ripaldi played a defined first set; both were able to hold their service games up until at 5-all. Henri serving at 5-all a couple of double faults allowed Ripaldi to find a chance to take advantage of Henri's second serves, and he did. Ripaldi ended up serving for the set and won it while Henri possessed a 63% 1st serve win percentage. Henri continued to maintain a positive body language despite the circumstance but today was unfortunately not his day as he was broken twice to allow the Engollian to claim a 7-5, 6-3 victory over him.

Another popular Madesene lefty Martin Bond took on Engollian Marco Vrient in a stunning 3-set match. Bond and Vrient in the first set were determined to claim it as both players were truly proving who they were. At 4-all, Vrient serving, Bond sought an opportunity after 49 minutes of play so far after Vrient committed 3 consecutive unforced errors. When Bond took advantage of Vrient's second serve at love-40 Bond seized the opportunity and served for the set and claimed it. Vrient didn't seem to back down from the loss of set in the second as he continued his momentum and eventually found himself 2 breaks up against Bond after hitting a couple of winners. Eventually the Engollian was able to claim the second to stay in the match. It was clear to see Bond's was determined to close the match as he tried a couple of serve-and-volley plays to win the games. By doing so and taking advantage of Vrient's second serves he eventually found himself up 5-love. Vrient tried his serve-and-volley as well and was able to win his first game of the final set. After that Bond could either give "all or nothing" as he had an abundant opportunity to close the match, and he did, enabling to claim a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 match over the Engollian.

Probably the most famous tennis player in Madesu Gabe Anderson took on Becky Short of Kannap in a thrilling 3-set game. Anderson seemed to start off the match very well as he showed no sign of serve or overall rallying weakness as he lost a total of only 8 points to be able to claim a 6-2 set. Short's service power was unveiled when she practically aced her way up to have a 3-love lead against Anderson, then that is when things got a little more interesting. The match was seemingly beginning to be a serve-off, so to speak, as both players' ace count was on the rise. Anderson, down 3-5, was able to break once to try to level the match, but at 4-5 now Short was able to break Anderson to claim the set and stay in the match. Short and Anderson played a glorious and intense final set as both players were determined to break each other's service games. Eventually, holding service, both players found themselves in a final set tie-break. Under intense pressure both players needed to find a way to concentrate and keep their heads in the game or fall to the cheerful crowd. Anderson was able to overcome this developing pressure and hit nerve-wrecking aces and winners and was eventually able to claim an amazing 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 win against the Kannapian, making this a great start to the season.

Games continued to get more and more exciting for the Ferret team, while this was probably normal for other teams, for them it was great, with most of them making it so far just for the first event of games. What was also interesting was how neutral it was, in the short, more like brand new, history of International sports only one ever got far. Which threw the statistical favor to females, though that was math without a lot to back it up yet. Though this group made it a little more interesting in bringing that up again. With a small now completely dedicated fan group of three, along with alternating between those playing and watching during the different games, they made it fun at least. Continuing to practice and do what they could to see if they could make themselves better, or just see anything anywhere here.

Rog Ion Tralito (NTN) 6 2 6
Ceallachán Amhlaoibh (FCF) 4 6 4

Tijana Mirkic (SRB) 2 6
Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 6 7

Everything continued just to get tougher for the remaining players as they tried their hardest to match the competition they were facing, which was not getting or going to get any easier. Once everything was over and wrapped up for the singles even Ceallachán found himself with a loss, though given how far he had gotten, there was still a celebration afterwards. Dagmar still continued on strong with not a single loss, and the entire team had noticed it. She had managed to stay level headed and pushed herself hard to keep up with the others on the other teams. Asløg noted how, probably statistical, maybe it was a skill, but Dagmar was also female. While she probably still would not win anyways, other teams had been experienced for a lot longer then they have been, and they weren't even experienced. Well, everything was more probably just a series of improbable events that helped them get this far against those that they had faced, though with the competition weening out those that weren't good, the improbable would turn into the impossible. But for now it was the standard, they were doing great compared to how things could and maybe should have gone.

The doubles game proved to very interesting, as both their fielded teams ended up facing each other. Which they weren't sure what to make of that, or if that happened often. It probably should have been considered unfair, but seeing how they didn't really have a chance to win either way they happily went with it. On the bring side it increased their chance of getting at least one of their teams further along in the competition. So it was really just considered an official game of practice, which as it turned out the males ended up managing to win that game. That managed to upset the statistical balance so far, depends on how the next game goes, especially all the other games in the other events.

"Neu Engollon and our International viewers, good evening. This is Courtside Central on NETV Sports 19. I'm your host, Lizbet Rittenhaus and with me is my co-host, Dom Toglani.”

“Liz, we’re here in Paradise City at the Open, part of the NSTT Astyrian Series. It’s been a rocky start for the NETC team here, with some brilliant wins and harsh losses for qualifying matches.”

“Dom, it’s been almost heartbreaking to watch, but we have to hold out hope here for some of my former teammates. There have also been some super dominating matches by the Neu Engollian players, as you said. There’s a lot to cover, where should we start?”

“Lizbet, I want to cover the doubles match I just watched first, where two stalwarts of the NETC team, Thierry Garzala and Matti Doerwald took on Zoran Jovanovic and Dusan Ivanovic of Costa de Ouro. This match was a shut out with Garzala and Doerwald nailing each one tight with 6 game wins per the two regulation sets. It was a by the books classic win...No fancy moves or plays, just solid defense and waiting out for the holes on the other side of the court.”

“Sometimes that’s the way to do it, Dom. You can’t always have some fancy plays for the cameras and the fans, but you have to play the long games and put in due time to get the victory. I had many matches like that during my career. Jovanovic and Ivanovic...I always think they should be Nikolian with those names.”

“I know, right? So, moving on, and speaking of a Nikolian...Danjiella Zovic, who is part Nikolian, but all Neu Engollian power player, teamed up with long time veteran Alma Semmes to take on the Cenians Darcheri and Rentos. Unlike the men’s doubles match, this one didn’t go as well for the ladies…”

“No, it didn’t, Dom. Not for lack of effort though as we saw it go to a third set and what a record set it was, going an unprecedented 22 games, with the Cenians overwhelming Alma and Dani finally by taking 12 of those games. When we were talking heartbreak, this was the very definition of the match.”

“We see them here, after the match, drenched in sweat and hanging on to each other to stay on their feet to make it to the net and shake hands with Rentos and Darcheri. You can see the anguish...Ugh.”

“Then there was Dom Ripaldi, a normally solid player who couldn’t get a single game against his opponent, Martin Bond of Madesu. Wow…”

“I know, Liz. What happened there? I don’t think his head was on the court today.”

“I would have to agree with that, Dom. Not saying that Bond isn’t a good player, but Ripaldi could have done much better out there. We have those days, don’t we all?”

“We sure do. Coming up, Lizbet and I will cover the upcoming matches that will be wrapping up the Open in Paradise City, capital of the Blackhelm Confederacy. Stay tuned after this short break. You’re watching Courtside Central on NETV Sports 19.”
TG me with questions if you got some, especially about GE&T or PMCs.

By now the team thought about where they were in this event, being a bunch of nobodies, and managing to end up here in the games, among the greatest of the great players in the international tennis sport. While by now most of them were out, they had managed to get far, it had proved they had potential at least, and with the goal being to gain exposure that was pretty amazing too. They had all learned a lot from the other teams they were facing off against, and while it would take a long time before they could effectively put that into play it was something. It seemed Ferrets managed to learn tennis better than the other sports, or maybe they stumbled across better luck in tennis. Either way it worked well for them and they didn't want to question it too much, though they appreciated whatever it was greatly. Best of all they still managed to find ways to have fun while playing in the games and during their time out of the games, though to Dagmar, it was probably the growing fan base from five to eight, which was pretty big for a nobody.

While they still had unofficial practice using their room as a tennis court, or anywhere else they could that was not a court, even if it was pretend and they just swung their rackets around at nothing. Though they did have some fun accidentally hitting some unintentional stuff, nothing too bad came out of it besides a probable increase in their bill, but the fun was worth it. Asløg also had an interesting report for the first event almost done, it depended on how their remaining players did for the last of the games, which for them would most likely be sooner, it was a miracle that they had made it so far. Alwyn also had his own fun way of spinning the situation, making more fun for the rest of them.

"So how does the great tennis player Dagmer feel today? Ready to show the worlds how incredible you are?"

Birger and Hermanni looked at each other, "Hey, we are still in the games. Where's our glory?"

Alwyn laughed, "You are a team, not as amazing awesome," He got on his knees and shuffled over to Dagmer, "As Dagmer." By now Ceallachán and Ástríður walked over and 'dragged' him away, "And you are bad luck, so stay away."

"Aww... Ástríður, I'm just having some fun."

"Well have some fun... Over there, away from her."

"Fine, guess I'll enjoy your company then."

Ceallachán and Ástríður and chuckled as they walked away, it was only a few steps but everything was over dramatic just for fun. If they were going to have done the improbable, they should at least have fun doing it. Besides, they only had so long to enjoy it before they lost anyways, tougher and more experienced competition would eventually overcome whatever was getting them this far.

Dagmar Liùsaidh (FCF) 7 6

Much to the entire team's surprise Dagmar had managed to pull off another win after another really tough game. Unlike the other teams they have seen play, she seemed to do a lot of basic stuff from the beginning, while the other teams that had done that were no longer in the game, her calm composure along with a lot of effort seemed to be paying off. Everyone was incredibly excited that she had made it so far, with out much to compare too she was doing great, especially as they looked over the other more experienced teams was looking even better. They planned to celebrate hard after the games were over for this period of time. She had earned it and the team was more than willing to supply it, even Alwyn had a fun time on the act of being the bad luck. Hopefully that would not turn against them in the future, but for a team with no skill none of them should have gotten so far. Only Ainsley from the other tennis team was able to do that by all improbably and miracles, statistically it was impossible to be able to pull it off again in even one of these events. But they would take what they could get for now, and keep trying hard to match the experience with effort.

Coosal Darlcheri/Gyrachor Rentos (CEN) 6 6
Birger Gwil / Hermanni Conall (FCF) 4 1

Their doubles games did not go so well, or maybe it should be said they went the way they were suppose too. Much to the rather small dismay of Llinos and Säde, who had done rather exceptional up until they faced their own team members. Though they had all figured they would have lost anyways no matter how hard they tried since they actually were going up against the best according to the statistics. Which with that added fact it was amazing that the two were able to score any points at all. For nobodies to do that against the best, hopefully said a lot. When the game was over they were not bothered by the loss at all, they had managed to get far and Dagmar at least got further, which was a lot to celebrate there already. Looking at the bright side could have also been another thing helping them along, though in the end it could have been anything, except skill or experience, those were suspiciously absence.

Alwyn looked at Birger and Hermanni as they left to go off and celebrate where ever they could, "I told you Dagmar was the amazingly awesome one of us."

"Oh you are just bad luck... Just... Stop talking..." Alwyn just looked at Hermanni, "And do not look at anything." So Alwyn closed his eyes, and ended up stumbling forward. "You didn't have to listen!"

"Well I'll do anything to help you all succeed." Ceallachán steadied him, "Yeah, well good job. Now we can all celebrate amazing achievements while we still can call them that."
