STAFF:
Manager: Andreas Jansen, 42
A definite national footballing hero of Semarland, both playing wise and managing wise, Andreas Jansen became the first ever manager to lead Semarland to the World Cup finals. A somewhat surprise appointment following the resignation of Henrik Jensen, who has gone on to manage Molsbik Arkjet, fortunately Andreas Jansen stepped in. Having already done his coaching badges before, it came as a surprise that he was appointed so early yet being a qualified coach. He proved the doubters wrong as he lead Semarland into the World Cup group stages, via the playoffs after finishing second in their group, defeating Buyan in the aforementioned playoff in an inspiring second-leg victory. He’s looking to have a solid AOCAF performance too, before going onto the next World Cup which Semarland will hope to qualify for again.

Assistant manager: Tunde Ajayi, 44
44 year old Tunde Ajayi is no stranger to the world of assistant managing. Ajayi was previously the assistant manager at Eikborg Club for four years, leading them to higher positions. Capped by Semarland 28 times, scoring twice, in his playing days he often featured at centre-back or in defensive midfield, earning him the nickname “the brick wall.” Like Jansen, he’d be interested in remaining in the coaching setup for a while - maybe as a first-team coach or just as a general tactical coach. One thing that will delight the SFA is his experience and professionalism - despite his rather young age, he has been involved in coaching setups for eight years, since he was 34 when he retired due to a knee injury. As well as being the assistant manager of the side, Ajayi is also the head coach of FC Jansberg U14s, with his children Kunle and Ibrahim playing just a few age groups below.

San José Guayabal (SJG) National Team

Image

The Guayabalense NT in the last cycle

After some time of success during the World Cup 70 Qualifiers and also during a great part of the World Cup 71 Qualifiers where they almost dominated their group but felll off in a last matchday game against the top seed, Saintland, there was hope at playoffs but a fatal error from Hernández turned one of the most memorable comebacks of Guayabalense football (From losing 0-2 to winning 4-2 at home and going to WC during those minutes) into another missed chance to be in the World Cup Finals, an own goal in the 92nd minute was enough to send San José Guayabal to the CoH again.

That CoH was beileved to be a fiasco according to some sport pundits, a sahem at home was forecasted but the national team, under the conduction of Paulo Oliveira and Alfredo Herrera performed an spectacular participation that made dream to an entire nations, reaching the final with a new game style, very solid in defense, allowing just one goal during the entire tournament, the final against an historic team like Valanora was the launching platform to glory for La Selecta, who after a hard fought game, they lifted the champions trophy after beating the Vanorians 4-3 in Penalty Kicks.

After a splendid World Cup Qualifiers, La Selecta managed to get back into World Cup Finals after an absence of eight years, after losing the first game against Felix and tying the second with Kandorith their hopes for a Round of 16 were depending of Kandorith vs Felix game and also of their performance against The Holy Empire, despite they did one of the most memorable games of the history of Guayabalense football by beating The Holy Empire 2-0, they failed to qualify to the second round because Felix beat the Kandorese squad. After that, La Selecta is aiming to get ready for this edition of the Trindl Cup and try to do their best in this, the team will have some variations compared to the usual line up but the strategy will be almost the same, now the team is going back to their roots, a counterattacking game with a bit more emphasis in the defense.

After undesirable results in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers, La Selecta decided to start a reengineering in its game system, after proving that a good defence is not something from other planet, receiving fifteen goals in fourteen matches during the World Cup 71, a new slightly defensive system was established in the team, featuring for the first time a line of four midfielderss, trying to block the highest number of possibilities of the rival team, also including a rookie into the team, Abraham Terrazas is having his first experience as the goalkeeper of the Starting XI, with one midfielder who can have a rol of defence like Núñez, this team is probably a quite defensive version of La Selecta. A key aspect that changes a bit from the other lineups used throughout the history, is the use of two strikers instead, in order to keep the offensive capacity that has characterized the football of the National Team and maybe the bastion of the whole Guayabalense football.

The "home" roster of SJG features the use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia can be sort of defence in case of need. In resume this strategy helps in defence and attacking because it can turn into a 3-2-5 in attacking moments or a 5-2-3 in defending moments, creating a complete system that can help the team to achieve victory at any cost.

There are three words to describe the game style of La Selecta being that: efficience, speed and withe, something that makes the team look solid at any time, no matter the game but it is a team that rarely gives up, even if the conditions are totally against, the team tries to score early, to score the highest amount of goals and going decidedly to the front in order to score, to fight with courage every ball and also having a high esteem and sense of unity as a team.

Game style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Players normally like to do long-distance shots or seek for chances in aerial game via set pieces or corners, specially with Árbol Saucedo and Mattías Passarelli, who are the tallest players of the entire squad. Still, this team can do some special moves, considering the idea of the team of never give up and trying to be efficient while attacking.

Strict, offensive and organized are three words that describes the new manager of San José Guayabal National Team, former player of the one time Globe Cup champions, Marinos Metrópolis (He coached on the final series) and them he served to Marinos and helped them to achieve the best positions on the Valladar Liga-1, going to Champions' League berths or Globe Cup berths, his seasons on charge of Marinos showed always a nice display of game, being direct, offensive and with high pressure to the rival defenders, a manager who tends to be strict but motivating to the players of the National Team, Oliveira is one of those managers with a high devotion to football and his environment, specially the ones like the Guayabalense football atmosphere, with a lot of pressure and expectations from the fans and the Football Federation itself. His arrival to La Selecta has already received good criticism, as being "one of the best decisions that the FGF could have made", considering the zestful and strict character of Oliveira, good results can be expected from a renovated National Team.

Alfredo Herrera 68 Y/O, Nationality: Aquillian (Part of Osarius) Image

We've all heard the anecdotes about Aquillian's national football team manager Alfredo Herrera, and how he is sometimes "endearingly zany". His open training sessions during some friendlies, or at tournaments like the the Cup of Harmony or WCQ, reveal some -- but not the full extent of his preparations. He stands on the touchline, barking the same orders over and over until they are followed perfectly. "Retreat! Retreat now!" he barks at his wingbacks during one exercise. "You have less than seven seconds to return or they will pierce the gap!" His barking continues. "Release immediately! No hesitation! No delay! Control, release, move! Control, release, move!" His players are practicing to execute his commands with such speed and efficiency, they appear almost instinctive. The level is intense. He shuffles things around. Rotates players. Alters the tempo. Introduces more rules. Removes rules. The withdrawal, surveying and tinkering process repeats itself several times over before he appears satisfied. "Excellent! This is how we go! This is how we win!" He finally bestows some praise upon his players.

Starting XI Bio

Abraham Terrazas 17 Y/O, Goalkeeper of Izotz Zubia (AUD) Image

Maybe the youngest keeper on the history of the National Team, Terrazas was even more young when he left to the Audioslavian powerhouse Izotz Zubia, though his youngness was a limitant to be on the starting XI, he taked advantage of any chance he had to demonstrate his best level of game, through the time, Terrazas has been climbing to the top in his club, after some time, he is fighting for a spot on the starting XI and he has more action on it, Terrazas is probably the new promise of the Guayabalense football under the three posts.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Canterlot Royals (EQS) Image

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Mattías Passarelli 25 Y/O, Central Defender of Delare Minon (YTT) Image

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team, he doesn't plans to move of the team, because he feels the love of the fans.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of East Franz Athletic (PIS)Image

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivaion caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR) Image

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labour in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata, now is in Eura to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards.

Sebastián Núñez 20 Y/O, Left Midfielder of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)Image

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and pput it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch.

Leónidas Bregoo 25 Y/O Midfielder of FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS) Image

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 21 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Wye United (APX) Image

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of the Apoxian team of Wye United. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders, taking advantage of his size, Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 25 Y/O, Right Striker of Real Azuris (COS) Image

The top scorer of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, long shots and headers makes him a player who can score in any way possible in any moment, dangerous by his skill and technical game with the dribbling, is a headache for the defenders.

Jonathan "Atomic Flea" Faña 27 Y/O, Left Striker of Oljestaden IF (AUD)Image

Little in size but extremely fast, the "Flea" tends to be very technical and does a lot of dribbles, he can't shot so well from large distances but his excellent speed and counterattack skills makes him a rather interesting player to follow, the bad thing is that he's overconfident and can fail goals even in front of the goal, even if the Goalkeeper was beated by his drible. Well he has a bad luck.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 25 Y/O Striker of 1830 Cathair (AUD)Image

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Specialities: Free kick.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. In this guide basic data information that will help the tourist (Regardless of nationality, sex, species, religion, etc.) to have a pleasant stay in San José Guayabal, with phrases and tips that will be much useful.

History

Originally, San José Guayabal was inhabited by a tribe from the South Pole, which has been called "Eskimos" and which our country still live to this day, beginning more than 2,600 years before Christ. Eskimos settled in small communities on the shores of the south coast of the nation, developing solitarily without contact with most members of his ethnic group or the like. The economy was based on hunting and selling bearskins for the winter season, or the planting and harvesting of grapes or apples during the spring time. The system of government was nonexistent and remained so for a long time, where the Eskimos were the majority before a new ethnic group in the center of the country, which was the group of "Wára-Wára" who ended up being called "Native Guayabalenses.”

Many centuries later, the picture did not change in ethnic background, because the Eskimos maintained a social domain but now much more informed through a central government called "Naalakkersueriaaseq" or simply "Naala", consisting of a governor who tended to meet the role of chief and spiritual guide of the nation. Note that abandoned their nomadic practices and decided to establish around the "Great Lake" now called "Metropolitan Lake", about 230 km from what is now San Salvador, the capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Northern regions which, specifically from Andarica, we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country with the valorous mission of Explorer Luis Barbosa (Who’s considered as founder of the nation) and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, the isolated Eskimos decided to merge into a new society, full of opportunities for everybody. And that hasn’t stopped yet, because more groups came to stay in our nation, coming from the north the Finns, Swedes, Russians and Anglo-Saxons, creating a multicultural society in a big nation, who had a strong sense of unity and brotherhood since the early beginning despite the racial differences.

In the last 200 years, San José Guayabal has suffered drastic changes into his history and social system, being caused by political reasons, who led to three civil wars (1989, 2024, 2047) where the main factor was the wish of liberty and prosperity from a diverse but united nation with strong wishes of success in international issues as business, industries and more specially peace and freedom.

Today, San José Guayabal is a nation that is rising from the ruins by leaps and bounds after the most recent and devastating civil war that put a stop to the tyrannical communist regime of then President Miguel Serrano. In an industry dominated by petroleum and energy resources such as shale or subtraction of natural gas in conjunction with a strong and increasingly thriving tourism industry and micro technology based economy (Chips, micro-chips, etc.) are transforming the nation into what people have dreamed of, a country of advanced its breakthrough in the future and seek to overcome adversity to become more powerful and provide a better standard of life for its inhabitants.

Geography, Climate and another natural phenomena

San José Guayabal is a continental nation, located in the continent of Inferiore Minore, Esportiva. Having a great number of surrounding islands, an 85% of The Antartic Territory, doing a great combination of climate geographical features.
The continental area is very irregular, mountainous and extremely volcanic relief, being mountainous in the west, south-central, north-central and eastern containing long plains and steppes in the central area (also called "The Heart") of the nation, The Alpine Belt also called "Cordillera Del Fuego" runs from the border with Estope and Wednesday Evening in the far west to the border with Gregoryisgodistan in the east, forming a branch towards the south coast of the nation. The eruptions are less frequent in recent years, the last eruption was 12 years ago and the possibilities of a new eruption event occur is very minimal. This has generated an abundance of rocky material from the process of cooling of the lava, a very popular material used for gardens, decoration or houses.

Notable exceptions to the mountainous terrain of San José Guayabal are the Central Valley and the Northern Steppe. El Valle is a flat land that does not exceed 600 meters above sea level and extends over much of the Lempa River; the soil is very fertile for growing grain and other agricultural products such as corn, beans, and sugarcane, and also is home of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the entire region of Esportiva.

The North Steppe is the most arid area of the territory, dominated by its large sand dunes, this region has very little rainfall throughout the year and extreme weather in the summer, easily exceeding 42°C at noon and decreasing the 9°C at the night, fauna it’s minimal there except for scorpions and some lizards.

The climate of San Jose Guayabal is generally quite predictable because there are four distinct seasons being these winter (June 21 to September 20), spring (September 21 to December 20), summer (December 21 to March 20) and the autumn (March 21-June 20) while in Rossana (overseas colony) the condition is different because of its location in the northern hemisphere being the winter between December and March, spring between April and June, the summer between July and September while autumn is from October to December. It's very rare to see a non-corresponding to the station in our country climate, with stable climates for each season and very few flaws in the service of climate information in the news and newspapers because the control systems of the climate and the almost obvious weather patterns.

In terms of natural phenomena we can find three, the most catastrophic ones are the earthquakes, a very common event in the nation due to its volcanic activity and its location between two major tectonic plates, the Southern Plate and the Inferiore Plate. This makes our nation quite prone to seismic events place but do not panic. The nation has high construction standards regarding the prevention of seismic events and is mandatory that each building has evacuation plans which are placed in visible to make easier the evacuation besides making evacuation drills at least two times for year. Note that at least 45% of citizens are people trained to provide first aid, this being part of the given requirements to complete the Students’ Social Service, required for the graduation of students in the education system.

We now turn to other less lethal phenomena, as are the aurora australis and the migration of geese, spectacular events that attracts lots of people. The aurora australis is a phenomenon that occurs mainly from March to September, while maintaining an appropriate intensity to be seen until the end of December, usually can be seen throughout the country, including northern areas like El Roblar or Metapán. The migrating of geese occur during September to December, from the Central Valley region they move to the South Pole, then head north of Esportiva. These spectacles often bring many people to be witnessed, because they have an enormous facility to witness each of these phenomena.

Travel

Visiting San José Guayabal is not a very complicated process, as the provisions of international travel are applied for each foreign visitor. International flights usually land at three airports, one for each egion of the country, being the El Roblar International Airport designated to the west, Luis Barbosa Airport in Vladivostok for the central region and San Salvador International Airport to the east, the latter being the most important because of its location in the capital.

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

From the beginning of time to the Eskimos, prevailed a kind of shamanism mixed with pagan rites in honor of the earth, moon and sun, entities of great importance to the Eskimos because of their dependence on agriculture and sun for planting and harvest of food and other goods for storage in the winter, which was worshiped by the moon and snow, who deserved rest and relaxation afforded to the Eskimos that time.

This Eskimo tradition of worshiping natural phenomena remained for more than 2500 years until the arrival of Spanish colonizers, who spread a new faith, Christianity in an easy way and without shedding innocent blood by religion. The Guayabalenses have been very receptive to the religion without falling into religious fundamentalism and fanaticism, this being a meeting point of unity and for society.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and Protestantism dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Today the trend remains solid, the population is even more liberal than before in terms of tolerance creeds, admitting any theological thinking according to the Constitution of the Republic, severely condemning any act of censorship of religious expression or fundamentalism religious. Notably, church attendance has been increasing in the last seven years, bringing together a large part of the population; the missions of the churches typically perform community works across the nation or even international level people who need it most.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Food & Etiquette

Food in San Jose Guayabal is very diverse, varying due to the presence of different ethnic groups that have imported your culinary culture to our nation, varying by region, but yes there are dishes that are distinguished from others if we talk about popularity nationwide.

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course, where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their plate, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Football in San José Guayabal is the sport that moves the masses, on any day and at any time of day is normal to see children playing football in the streets of residential areas or football academies, the Community youth playing football in tournaments, or at academies of professional or semi professional teams, adults meet after the workday with peers and then perform matches, as distraction from work stress and also the elderly and women, who do not hesitate to leave their detention work in order to enjoy the football. Through this we can deduce that as people get involved in football in an active way, so is his passion.

The passion for football is very excessive in our nation, for some it is cultural issue of pride support their team and others, is literally his own "religion" if you are so want to call, many fans to stadiums are directed to support his team in an almost unique way, the hostility in the atmosphere and tension is very high, the songs of hate towards the opponent and vice versa are very frequent flares, pyrotechnics, giant banners to support the team, hypes, trumpets and other musical instruments give much color to the bars organized teams or selection, popularly known as "Barras Bravas" are very common, but accidents between the fans are very rare.

Discuss and be contrary to any guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of 1,000 crowns (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra”), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

Theresa Riether is using this tournament as a welcome chance to test the genuine depth of her squad, resting a few of the tried and true players - Ballard, Belfast, Ashdown and Bottlegreen, most prominently. But this is still close to a full-strength side, and the Cormorants still expect victory. The chance to experiment with players like Rainsford as well as testing the waters for a return to 4-4-2, with Felix Keller seeming to be a genuinely class finisher for Sabrefell Athletic. Pressinger, Griffiths, Finnan, Beckcamp and Keller are uncapped to date. With no member of the squad over 27, good work here will be a strong sign of a secure future for the Cormorants.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Rubén Morantes and Juan Pablo Reyes on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Iván Coupet and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

The Cenian football federation has chosen to submit the Di Bradini Cup roster with a few changes in the starting lineup.

CENIAN ROSTER FOR TRINDL CUP I >>>

OVERALL INFORMATION >>>
Ceni's senior team has consistently gained the reputation of being a very attacking side - send the ball up the field and try to score on it. However, during the World Cup qualifying campaign, this strategy - which emphasized heading up to the goal, no matter what the cost - proved to be Ceni's undoing as lesser-rated sides took advantage of overextensions and lack of credible threats in the midfield. Manager Corran Artis has decided to, instead, look into developing more competent midfielders and defenders on the youth side of the coin in order to rectify this glaring problem. Indeed, during training camp, Artis has urged his team to be smart about their attacking play - go when there is an opportunity, not just when they have the ball. He has realized that opportunistic play would be the best way for Ceni's football to further develop, and he has taken that ideal to heart when training Ceni's first ever Di Bradini Cup team and selecting their formation. Many football observers have noted that this is among Ceni's best crop of youngsters, with several young and emerging talents present on this team. Because these players know each other - and, indeed, have played with each other, as part of the Pinnacle Project - they have developed strong bonds of friendship and teamwork. The Cenian Football Federation hoped that the combination of the talent and Artis's innovative football strategy will produce a good run for Ceni's team at the Di Bradini Cup, and their hopes paid off, reaching the final.

As part of the new opportunistic strategy, Artis has chosen a classic 3-3-4 formation for the team. Turich-Albertson, Morroghany, and Torabi will anchor the defense; Swan, Valles, and Fierro will play in the midfield; and Koromin, Solaris, Asturias, and Garcia will form a strike team in the opponents' half of the field. Because del Olmo, Asturias, and Garcia have all played together at the Pinnacle Project, they know each other's strengths and weaknesses and will be able to capitalize on opportunities for the other three, while Koromin will be able provide another option for the strike team. In the midfield, the team has more flexibility in both attacking and defending than the senior team has and can easily switch between the two realms, something that Artis has emphasized when training the team. In the defense, the team does suffer the weakness of having only three defenders, but it will hopefully make up for it with its increased ability to pass to the midfield as well as novel zonal defense strategies that try to force opponents towards the center.

Manager: Corran Artis
Style: +1.5

GOALKEEPERS
Laura Oannes GK (19) Image University of Cenial
Laura Oannes has shown some good progress with the University of Cenial's university team, having some excellent saves, made possible by her tracking of the ball, good reflexes, and excellent knowledge of the minds of strikers, some of that made possible by her psychology major in college. This knowledge of psychology should help her to further develop her career as a goalkeeper, and reportedly, a Gelderlish side has its eye on her for the next season, depending on her performance during the next year. If she can survive as a goalkeeper in Ceni's high-scoring league, she can probably survive anywhere. In the Di Bradini Cup, she performed well as a substitute, and manager Artis has rewarded her with a starting spot.

Ryan Navir GK (20) Image Renwyll
Ryan Navir started with the goalkeeper's gloves for the Cenian academy side for young talent, Pinnacle Project, for the last two seasons, where he guided the team to a seventh placed finish in the last season. After conceding 71 goals in his first season, he markedly improved his performance, conceding only 55 goals in 30 games. Because of his youth, Navir possesses some of the best goalkeeper's reflexes but sometimes indecision will rob his chances of blocking a goal, nothing more experience wouldn't fix. Overall, his experience in the high-scoring Cenian league should serve him well in this tournament.

DEFENDERS >>>
Evan Turich-Albertson LB (19) Image Renwyll
Recuecn's side Renwyll, impressed between Turich-Albertson's chemistry with goalkeeper Ryan Navir, chose to bring Turich-Albertson over to its side this season. Turich-Albertson also impressed with his good teamwork, excellent passing and dribbling skills, and good eye for the big picture. He tends to get a little excited for the ball and might foul a little more, but in the big picture, Turich-Albertson succeeds in driving the ball away from the opponent a good portion of the time when he's in the right position, and he tends to be in the right position. Along with friend Justin Morroghany, Turich-Albertson chose to stay in Ceni after the dissolution of the former Western Borderlands. *

Justin Morroghany CB (19) Image Royal Queenstown
Justin Morroghany recently featured on the same Pinnacle Project team as Ryan Navir and was nominated the captain of that team in his second season. After the dissolution of his native country, Western Borderlands, Morroghany chose to become a Cenian citizen and play for the Cenian national U-21 team. During his tenure with Pinnacle Project, Morroghany developed both his footballing skills and his relationship with countryman and friend Evan Turich-Albertson. After being shortlisted for the Best Defender in the Cenian Premier League two times (unfortunately, he was not chosen for either), the Gelderlish side Royal Queenstown chose to take advantage of his good strategy and cunning mind. *

Nick Torabi RB (17) Image Pinnacle Project
Of Persian descent, Torabi immigrated to Ceni with his family when he was 12 after learning to play football on the streets of his native country. Torabi excels at marking and manager Artis’s new zonal defense, as well as providing a credible passing option for the center when it has successfully dispossessed the offense of the ball. Pinnacle Project has chosen to start Torabi this season due to his excellent agility with his feet and the ball as well as his overall strong build, which should make him a credible threat to any offensive-minded player wishing to score.

Astara Khan RB (17) Image Pinnacle Project
Liam Lorechian CB (17) Image Pinnacle Project
Chiara Kavos LB (17) Image Pinnacle Project

Astara Khan, a Pakistani daughter of a construction worker and a nanny, found herself playing football with her friends on the street while her parents were busy at work to pass the time, finding herself adept at football, especially the defense. Liam Lorechian has a balanced style of play and excels at agility, man-to-man marking, and dispossession, and he relishes the chance to take the ball into the midfield. Lastly, Chiara Kavos, while suffering from several drawbacks that plague the Cenian defense, manages to work together with her teammates to find the best place to put the ball.

* Yes, this was with the permission of Western Borderlands.

MIDFIELDERS >>>
Tomás Fierro MF (19) Image Ninon Beart
After Sunrisian club Ninon Beart was promoted from that league's second division, they immediately turned to Tomás Fierro, one of Pinnacle Project's top players, and Fierro was only too happy to accept after playing a season in Racao, where he proved to be one of the league's best midfielders. Fierro excels in the "build-up" plays of the midfield, working to both get the ball away from possible defense interference and to set up excellent goalscoring opportunities with his good passes and other ball-handling skills. Fierro, additionally, has good pace and the ability to read the ball's trajectory well.

Allison Swan MF (18) Image Cenial United
During her last season at Pinnacle Project, Swan won plaudits for her decisive style and good control of the midfield as she acted as a good pivot player as well as a true sportswoman. She enabled a lot of of Kira Koromin goals as well as helping to coordinate the defense. As a result, Swan found herself second on the list for the Cenian Premier League's best midfielder and third on the list for the league's best young player. A Sunrisian side tried to purchase her and her abilities, but Cenial United outbid the club for this promising youngster. Swan will almost certainly prove to be an excellent playmaker for Ceni's team.

Petro Valles MF (19) Image Lexington Victory
Petro Valles - one of the several excellent midfielders from Ceni's north side, in this case from the city of Nova Ascea - excels as more of a holding midfielder, and he does well to prevent opponents' attacking moves and regain the momentum for Ceni's offense. Valles works well with friend Tomás Fierro, and they complement each other's abilities. This makes them easily able to switch from offense to defense together in a quick manner, and quickly exploit any shift in momentum to Ceni's advantage. As such, Valles has a good grasp on short, simple passes to playmaker Swan or more offensive-minded midfielder Fierro.

Julian del Olmo LM (17) Image Pinnacle Project
Voren Reth MF (18) Image University of New Oxford
Jasper Valaran RM (17) Image Pinnacle Project

Julian del Olmo, part of the famous del Olmo clan, will feature in Pinnacle Project's starting eleven this next season; Jasper Valaran will probably feature in the next season as he continues to develop his box-to-box style of play in the midfield, excelling at both defensive and offensive aspects. Voren Reth prefers the attacking side of the midfield, and he excels at exploiting offensive opportunities and getting the ball to the offensive side of the pitch, including his friend and teammate Tyro Solaris in the striking zone. Reth has a good tactical and strategic grasp as well, some gained from his studies of Military History in college (he is a history major).

FORWARDS
Kira Koromin ST (18) Image Celtic Noviodunum
With a surfeit of exceptionally talented strikers in Ceni's league, one would expect any budding forwards to be snuffed out by the pressure of Ceni's high-scoring and aggressive league. Contrary to any expectations, however, Kira Koromin has stood out, not just because of her name. Born to the famed Cenian legend and current Cenian national team manager Kirk Koromin and brother of national team star Kel Koromin, Kira possesses her own creative playing style. She transcended all expectations during the last season with Pinnacle Project, scoring a whopping thirty-four goals, placing her at second on the list for the Golden Ball in the nascent Cenian Premier League. Her opportunistic and aggressive style of play has earned her a trip to the Gelderlish side Celtic Noviodunum. The top goalscorer at the Di Bradini Cup, Koromin is rumored to be on her father's shortlist for the Cenian national team.

Nico Asturias ST (18) Image Heldingen
Another one of Ceni's top players to come out of the Hispanic north and Pinnacle Project, Nico Asturias could have been one of Ceni's top young strikers had he come out at a better time - unfortunately, Kira Koromin and Javier del Olmo have outshone this rising star. However, Asturias has a number of good qualities that should help the Di Bradini Cup team: he is a fast player with good agility, good penalty skills, and good shooting skills with both feet. These qualities earned him a transfer to Recuecn’s side Heldingen last transfer window.

Eric Garcia RW (20) Image Longtails
Garcia, after a excellent (but overshadowed) season at Pinnacle Project with Javier del Olmo, earned a trip to the young (and mostly foreign) side Longtails, where he created several bonds with his teammates. These bonds helped his team to rise fourteen points over its previous standings, as Garcia scored thirty goals, placing him tied for fifth on the top goalscorers list for the Cenian Premier League. Garcia, having grown up in Ceni’s Hispanic north, moved to Cenial to pursue his footballing career at age 12, where the Pinnacle Project picked him up and trained him. Garcia’s specialty is dispossessing opposition defenders and immediately converting on the chances he has just picked up while the defense is still reeling.

Tyro Solaris LW (18) Image University of New Oxford
Tyro Solaris, who currently studies architecture at the University of New Oxford, has been tagged as one of Ceni's brightest young strikers. Intelligent, clear-headed, and decisive with the ball, Solaris also possesses excellent stamina and fitness. However, Solaris tends to make some mistakes because of his relative inexperience. Perhaps as Garcia, del Olmo, and Asturias age out, he will have his chance to make a mark on Ceni's Di Bradini Cup team. However, he didn't have to wait that long, as during the Di Bradini Cup, Solaris added some vigor and change of momentum in the knockout stages, performing well and replacing Javier del Olmo, who was flagging. His excellent ball-striking qualities led to his success at the Di Bradini Cup.

Javier del Olmo LW (20) Image Sporting Cenial
Javier del Olmo is part of the big del Olmo clan which includes the renowned Cenian attacking midfielder Jaime del Olmo, who plays for the Audioslavian giants 1830 Cathair and a younger midfielder, cousin Julian del Olmo. Del Olmo impressed in his first season at Pinnacle Project, scoring twenty-four goals; this good performance earned him a trip to Sporting Cenial, where he forged a good relationship with Gavin Reed, the side’s Darvalian striker. He scored twenty-nine goals at Sporting Cenial, only one less than his compatriot Eric Garcia, and helped to guide his team to its first ever Gold Cup spot at fourth place, a win ahead over deserving contenders Phalanx AF.

Tharan Kassal ST (18) Image University of Ceni
Corris Laval ST (18) Image University of Ceni
Auren Brahe-Antilles RW (17) Image Longtails

Tharan Kassal and Corris Laval are teammates at the University of Ceni, where they operate as a tag-team in the strikers' colors; Auren Brahe-Antilles outshone his peers at Pinnacle Project training, and Cenian side Longtails picked him up after the departure of one of their better players Kristoffer.

There are also two "special" kits, one is white with black and red flames on the front left, and the other is mostly gold (the traditional alternate kit colours) with a red and black bar across the middle, if neither of these is suitable. I'll make these eventually.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if its a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Manager: Azarai Robinson
Assistant Manager: Reiss Ryerson
The former Firewood City teammates have had very different careers as managers. Ryerson oversaw the most difficult period in Firewood's history -- according to the fans, at least -- while Robinson took a mid-table side in Buyan to the Champions Cup. Some have drawn attention to their symbiotic relationship, in which Robinson's calmness keeps Ryerson's emotional outbursts in check. Equally, Ryerson's loud confidence has helped Robinson impose himself on the dressing room despite his lack of an imposing presence (a problem neither the six-foot-five Ryerson, nor Robinson's six-foot-four predecessor Jermain Lewis have ever had). The remainder of the backroom staff is an interestingly balanced -- if heavily ex-Firewood -- group of players-turned-coaches with plenty to offer in terms of experience, or tactical and technical understanding. Most notable among the names in the backroom are probably ex-Osarius captains Benni Watson and Serenity Lewis. While Watson's role is part-time -- he only travels with the team for tournaments, owing to his position as Hastmead boss -- Lewis is effectively Robinson's joint third in command (alongside Jordan Simpson), and often leads training sessions. Some had suspected she would be offered the Osarius manager's job when her father stepped down, but she denies applying, insisting that she is happy to wait and learn from Robinson.

How do Osarians play?
In short? Expect a high-intensity pressing game with some crunching tackles, and swift attacking movements transitioning from side to side at pace.

The primary tactical system for Osarius over the past two decades or so has been a 4-3-3 with at least one "traditional" winger and a (usually) balanced triangular midfield three. The idea is that the team operates in three phases when defending and three phases when attacking, always focused on controlling the space, and maintaining close proximity to teammates wherever possible. Lots of short passes when in possession, when defending, the team presses in packs, often creating two lines of defence for an opposition player to break through.

When defending, the first phase is that the front three press as high up the pitch as possible, trying to force a change of possession as close to the final third as possible. The second phase is to have the wingers drop back into midfield, leaving a lone striker and a compact midfield five to crowd out the opposition. The final defensive phase is the defence will step up to squeeze the space in midfield, inviting through balls for the offside trap.

When attacking, the first phase is to build from defence. It's rare that an Osarius defender is not comfortable playing a pass to another defender, or the most defensive of the midfield three. Long balls out of defence are rare, except when counterattacking. The second phase is for the front three to press forward, stretching the defence to create space in the midfield zone for Osarius' three to control play. The final phase is to maintain possession while trying to find an opening in the final third, typically by playing the ball into the channels where either a forward can finish, or cut a pass back across goal for a simple finish at the back post.

The Trindl Cup provides a unique opportunity for Robinson to test the ability of his squad in a tournament setting, and to that end, he has put together three starting elevens, to be used in the group stage:

Squad A - vs Apox: [ 4-3-3 ] Monteforte; Scott, Bianchi, Riviello (c), Reid; Gomez, Barnes, Afolayan; Clarke, Puntoriero, Marshall
Squad B - vs Quebec: [ 4-3-3 ] Suarez (c); Bocchetti, Padron, Gallardo, Harrison; Bailey, Mitchell, Drummond; Samuels, Laccona, Monroe
Squad C - vs Nephara: [ 4-3-3 ] Fletcher; Simpson, Rodriguez (c), Jaconelli, Turner; Costello, Mancini, Poynter; Kane, Pudoremu, Watson

Expect a lot of tinkering during matches, however, as Robinson tweaks his systems to find the best setup for each set of players

A month after an acceptable, if uninspiring, campaign in the AOCAF Cup, Imaslavii has selected a squad of younger players for the inaugural Trindl Cup, leaving out established NT players like Aitor Jovellanos, Serge Rollins and Gaizka Omaexevarria in an attempt to find a winning formula among the next generation of Audioslavian footballers.

Image
Our impression of the strongest squad Imaslavii can send out.
There are likely to be a few chops and changes for every game, mind

Fans' interest in the tournament has been piqued by the presence of one Polar Islandstates, a team against whom Audioslavia have had some epic battles in the past, even if most of them have ended up with the blue clad Valhallans emerging victorious.

Also in group A are recently inducted COCANEFA members Semarland, in who's stadiums the tournament will be held, and newcomers Acronius who are somewhat of an unknown quantity, though we figure there'll be eleven of them.

That is the fifty-seven thousandth time that joke has appeared in an Audioslavian newspaper.

OOC ROSTER INFO
This Audioslavia squad is about 90% the strength of the one that played in the AOCAF, and the manager will be experimenting with a few younger players. Here are the first elevens for the upcoming games. Players in bold are part of Audioslavia's regular, full strength first eleven. Players in italics are part of Audioslavia's regular squad.

vs Acronius
de Snaaijer, Corbijn, Varisco, Swansmith, Rouy, Evrard-Lecuyer, Cuijpers, Huelva, Apexarena, Caszely, Etxehartzaren

vs Semarland
Ybarra, Fokke-Rommedahl, Ulvestad, Lachance, Caceres, Goicochea, Huelva, Hufschmied, Rietveld, Kryznjak, Etxezuniyiga

vs Polar Islandstates
Patterick, Corbijn, Varisco, Landhuis, Caceres, Goicochea, Vengochea, Hufschmied, Rodriguez-Torrejon, Caszely, Etxezuniyiga

Our roleplaying permissions are the usual. No godmodding unless you're being really funny. We're happy being the bad guy, whether the pantomime villain, baddie-team-in-sports-film or otherwise. Our team will probably be less physical than yours, although we aren't afraid of the odd bout of gamesmanship here or there. We like to hit on the counter attack, especially down the wings. Our superior fitness and stamina helps us in the latter stages of games. We are occasionally creatively bereft, and sometimes have to rely on these late smash-and-grabs to win.

A change of format (again!) for the Rabastor Unity Trophy saw draws eliminated from proceedings, meaning all matches had to be decided on the day. This alteration meant there would be a change to table scoring, with two points awarded for wins, and one point awarded to a losing team who took the match into extra time or beyond. In addition, a bonus point is awarded to any team scoring more than three times in a match (including extra time).

Following their catastrophic display at the anniversary event two years ago, in which Osarius lost both games and were the first team eliminated -- and a disappointing showing in World Cup 73, Barca-Carthy impressed upon gathered reporters the importance of restoring the Firebirds' "aura" with a strong display at the Rabastor Unity Trophy while the under 25s did the same at the AOCAF.

"I think after the past couple years, where we've declined a bit, teams probably think they can take us. Teams will be more daring. A dominant showing here, and in the AOCAF at the same time will just underline how many good players we have, and remind everyone we're not to be taken lightly." The Osarius' Head of Development said. "We've also got the Trindl Cup after this, as a bit of a warm up to World Cup qualifying, so that's another opportunity. We have a lot of work to do if we want to get back to the top, and this is the start."

Barca-Carthy's squad selection contains few surprises, though it is noteworthy that she had priority claim on any under 20 eligible player, despite new Senior boss Azarai Robinson needing to build his squad for the AOCAF. "We came to an agreement, where I got to take my players first. Azarai agreed that it made the most sense, because any other way would weaken my squad selection pool. We both felt that we had enough talent across the age bands to create two very strong squads, so we did it this way." Barca-Carthy explained.

The main questions raised over her squad selection centred on the inclusion of three seventeen year olds. While Jerome John could be argued to have "proven talent", it's much harder to make the same case for Robert Barker -- whose move to Liberty Rodriguez was a surprise even among Hastmead Diamante fans -- though his potential is clear, and harder still to justify the inclusion of Ryan Watson. The grandson of Osarian legend Benni Watson has not yet played a senior game for Hastmead Diamante, despite his grandfather being the club's manager, and while he has been impressive in the Junior League and Developmental League, senior football is on an entirely different level. International football another level from that.

"Some have argued that his inclusion was down to his name, but that's not fair on him. Ryan is a talented winger, and should do well in the Rabastor Unity Trophy. It's a good opportunity for him to get some tournament experience, too." Said Autumn Phelps, a former Firebirds winger herself and Barca-Carthy's assistant manager. "I know a bit about wingers, I'd say, and he has all the qualities. I just hope he doesn't let all the scrutiny get to him."

Ayanna Barca-Carthy's Osarius U20 Developmental side -- part of the newly restructured national setup, under which she takes charge of the U20, U21 and U23 national teams -- emerged victorious, and convincingly so, at the forty-first Rabastor Unity Trophy. Three games, three wins. "We did alright," said Barca-Carthy. "I'm not happy with the amount of goals we conceded, but maybe that was a quirk of the rules. With everyone trying to get those bonus points, perhaps everyone attacked a bit more than they normally would. Even Kryosis scored seven, after all."

Aquillian's veteran winger Jefferson Madera, was again the tournament's top scorer, with five goals. "I just try to do what the coach asks me. Nothing special." The Utica forward said, downplaying his performances -- which included a remarkable five minute hat-trick against Kryosis -- before expressing his frustrations regarding the Osarius game. "I couldn't do anything against them. They defended very well in the wide areas, and I couldn't win the ball in the middle. I think that's why our bigger guys, like Lemar and Tony [King] were more effective in that game."

Hastmead's Daniele Gentile picked up player of the tournament, after effectively controlling the midfield in each of Osarius' three games. An unfortunate injury in the final game rules him out of the Trindl Cup, though he is expected to be fully fit for the start of the new LigAnaia season. "It's a shame for Daniele, he had a great tournament and really showcased his full skill set. I was hoping we would be able to bring him into the squad for the Trindl Cup but he won't be fit in time." Ayanna Barca-Carthy lamented. Two goals -- both of them late winners -- from Ryan Watson vindicated his selection, too, and made him a late addition to the Trindl Cup squad. "Ryan did everything we asked of him. He's a talented young player and we have high hopes for him. As a late sub he's effective because he's so quick, so we're looking at that." She explained. "His grandfather will be proud, I'll bet."

Heading into the first game of the Trindl Cup, Emanuele Riviello sees his first start for the Firebirds in some time, and is handed the captain's armband to go with it. "Manu is a strong, experienced player. He's been out of the squad for a bit, because J.P [Rodriguez] and Clem [Jaconelli] have been so good, then you have Gallardo and Padron behind them, it's a deep position. I think it's only fair to give Manu a chance to reclaim a place now, though." The manager explained. The front four of Puntoriero, Clarke, Marshall and Afolayan will almost definitely pose a stiff challenge for Apox, but Riviello is the standout defensively. Some have suggested that such an imbalanced selection could be a bad call on Robinson's part, though the gaffer is confident his players can do the job. "Between Manu, two solid fullbacks and Miguel Gomez breaking things up in the middle, I think we'll be fine."

Economy

The economy of San José Guayabal is a developed mixed economy with state-ownership in strategic areas of the economy. Although sensitive to global business cycles, the economy of San José Guayabal has shown robust growth since the start of the industrial era. Shipping has long been a support of Guayabal's export sector, but much of the Guayabalense economic growth has been fueled by an abundance of natural resources, including petroleum exploration and production, geotermical power, hydroelectric power, and natural gas. Agriculture and traditional heavy manufacturing have suffered relative decline compared to services and oil-related industries, and the public sector is among the largest in the world as a percentage of the overall gross domestic product. The country has a very high standard of living compared with other Esportivan countries, and a strongly integrated welfare system. The Guayabalense modern manufacturing and welfare system rely on a financial reserve produced by exploitation of natural resources, particularly on the South Pole Sea.

Energy Resources

Guayabalenses enjoy one of the highest GDP per-capita in Esportiva and the fourth GDP (PPP) per-capita. Today, San José Guayabal ranks as one of the wealthiest countries in the world in monetary value, with the largest capital reserve per capita of any nation in Esportiva. According to the WA World Census, San José Guayabal is a net external creditor of debt. San José Guayabal managed after decades of constant progress through the rankings the best Human Development Index (HDI) of the region with a value of 92 The standard of living in San José Guayabal is among the highest in the Multiverse. Esportivan Union Foreign Policy Magazine ranks SJG the 94th among 94 nations in its Failed States Index for 2202, judging SJG to be one of the region's most well-functioning and stable countries. Based on continued oil and gas exports, coupled with a healthy economy and substantial accumulated wealth, San José Guayabal is expected to continue as among the richest countries in the world in the foreseeable future.

Green Energy

San José Guayabal is a heavy producer of renewable energy, first of all due to good resources in hydropower. Over 60% of the electricity production in mainland San José Guayabal is covered by hydropower plants. The total production of electricity from hydropower plants amounted to 896.9 TWh in 2195 There is also a large potential in wind power, offshore wind power and wave power, as well as production of bio-energy from wood. San José Guayabal has quite limited solar energy resources during the winter but the deficit is normally defeated during the large period of summer, but is one of the world's largest producers of solar grade silicon and silicon solar cells.

Guarantees of Origin, the system for Guarantees of Origin was implemented by the Esportivan Union Renewable Energy Directive 2179/28/EC. In 2192 the average electricity consumption mix of a Guayabalense household was 45% renewable.

Gas Production

In 2195, Guayabal was the largest crude oil exporter in Esportiva (at 156Mt), and the 4th largest exporter of refined oil (at 104Mt). It was also the largest natural gas exporter of the region (at 144bcm), having significant gas reserves in the North Sea. San José Guayabal also possesses some of the world's largest potentially exploitable coal reserves (located under the Guayabalense continental shelf) on earth.

Three million barrels of oil adds 1.3 Mt of CO2 per day to the atmosphere as it is consumed, 866 Mt/year. Thus the global CO2 impact of San José Guayabal activities is significant. Much of the CO2 creation happens outside of Guayabalense borders, from Guayabalense fossil fuels.

Oil Industry

In May 2169, SJG asserted sovereign rights over natural resources in its sector of the South Pole Sea. Exploration started on July 19, 2173, when "Viajero Océanico" drilled its first hole. Initial exploration was fruitless, until "Carguero del Sur" found oil on August 21, 2173. By the end of 2173, it was clear that there were large oil and gas reserves in the South Pole Sea. The first oil field was "Oro Negro", produced 427,442 barrels of crude in 2180. Since then, large natural gas reserves have also been discovered.

Against the backdrop of the 2171 Guayabalense referendum to join the Esportivan Union, the Guayabalense Ministry of Industry, headed by Ramiro Montesinos moved quickly to establish a national energy policy. SJG decided to stay out of international oil groups, keep its own energy prices in line with world markets, and spend the revenue—known as the "currency gift" in the Petroleum Fund of San José Guayabal. The Guayabalense government established its own oil company, Statoil, and awarded drilling and production rights to "Petróleos del Sur" and the newly formed "Henríquez y Cia S.A.de.C.V".

The South Pole Sea turned out to present many technological challenges for production and exploration, and Guayabalense companies invested in building capabilities to meet these challenges. A number of engineering and construction companies emerged from the remnants of the largely lost shipbuilding industry, creating centers of competence in San Miguel and the western suburbs of Rostov. Rostov also became the land-based staging area for the offshore drilling industry.

.::FREE UNION OF ACRONIUS - OFFICIAL ROSTER FOR THE 1ST TRINDL CUP::.

ImageImage Image

INTRODUCTION

Hailing from the Free Union of Acronius, les Guerriers, a selection of the most exciting prospects in the world of Acronian football, has come forth to represent the nation in the first ever Trindl Cup, hosted by the Republic of Semarland. Viewed as a second preparatory competition for the upcoming 73rd edition of the World Cup, the Free Union, as opposed to numerous other nations, is barely even in the top 100 in the world - and will have to face daunting superpowers in the world of football, such as Audioslavia and Polar Islandstates. Coached by a Nord, assistant-coached by a Russian, captained by a Frenchman and vice-captained by an Italian, the Acronians will give their all on the pitch, at home and on the road.

TEAM INFORMATION

NATION: Acronius
TEAM NICKNAME(S): Les Guerriers, Blue Boys
HEAD COACH: Frank Vereyt
ASSISTANT COACH: Arseniy Lzerkov
FORMATION: 3-4-3
CAPTAIN: Anastasio Massali
VICE-CAPTAIN: Arturo Santiago
FREE KICK TAKER: Max Fawden
PENALTY TAKER: Saul Vesper
CORNER KICK TAKER: Franz Ruess

STARTING XI

MASSALI, Anastasio · #44 · 30 years old · Goalkeeper (GK) · Drundelle Wolves FC
Vice-captain of the team, Anastasio Massali is the oldest member in the starting eleven, and despite his club's mediocre performance during the latest season of the Acronian Legends League, 'the Flying Latino' was chosen to represent his nation inside the six-yard box. The eccentricity he displays in goal is famous throughout the Free Union, and he is known for having blocked multiple shots from several different opponents by swinging around his stomping grounds on the goalposts.

ANDERSEN, Lupe · #3 · 25 years old · Defender (LB) · Blackwater Oilers FC
Even though he's officially a fullback, Lupe Andersen is known to be a regular option for an additional striker would a situation require one. Despite Andersen's brilliance in the art of defending and efficiency in holding the line, his frequent tendencies to just surge up forward with the offensive line often leaves a loophole in the sturdy, yet under-supported Acronian defense, which has been exploited numerous times.

ROYCE, Fabian · #4 · 26 years old · Defender (CB) · Scunthorpe FC
Originally a central midfielder, Fabian Royce was supposed to play in the midfield for the Free Union, but after a serious knee injury he received halfway through the Acronian Legends League's first season that he had only just recovered from, he was instead converted to the defensive line, playing in the temporary position of centre-back. Contrary to Lupe Andersen, Royce almost always stays put within the box as to make up for Andersen's frequent absences.

RUESS, Franz · #5 · 24 years old · Defender (RB) · Azemont Champions FC
The starting right-back and vice-captain of Azemont Champions FC, the current titleholders of the Acronian Legends League, Franz Ruess' addition to the Free Union's starting eleven came as no surprise to many. Nicknamed 'the Wall', Ruess is infamous in Acronius for his quick reflexes that often allow him to push back offensive operations with minimal effort, as evidenced all throughout the Acronian Legends League. Ambidextrous with his legs, he often takes corner kicks for the team.

FAWDEN, Max · #21 · 23 years old · Midfielder (LM) · Lionsgate National FC
Nicknamed "Sonic" for his impressive speed, 23 year old Max Fawden will often be seen flying up and down the left flank of the field, and sometimes even testing his luck inside his opponents' box. An aspiring talent, Fawden will be expected to take over the role of vice-captain once Anastasio Massali retires from international football. He's the one who takes most free kicks positioned outside the box, but his amazing crossing and passing abilities are what really define him as a member of the team.

GRAVES, Lewis · #6 · 23 years old · Midfielder (CM) · Aberdeen City FC
Captain of Aberdeen City FC, Lewis Graves is a jack-of-all-trades. Along with Eddie Allison, he often assists in offensive operations, with his main duty being to build up a territorial advantage around the center of the pitch and to bring the ball up the field to the strikers. However, he can often be seen swinging back into defense when he's needed, due in part to his close proximity to both ends of the field made possible by his large stomping ground.

ALLISON, Eddie · #24 · 21 years old · Midfielder (CM) · Azemont Champions FC
Even though he is quite a young pick for the national selection, Eddie Allison, a starting midfielder for the Azemont Champions, proved that he deserve his spot on the starting eleven with his performance in the Aconian Legends League. Even though he played in his regular post of central midfielder, he snuck past six goals out of the grand total of twenty goals scored by the club that season. He almost never partakes in defensive operations, and prefers to stay with the offensive line.

SANTIAGO, Arturo · #8 · 25 years old · Midfielder (RM) · Azemont Champions FC
The second starting midfielder on the national team to play for Azemont Champions FC, Arturo Santiago is the lesser-known winger of the team. His primary role in the team is to fire in crosses from areas sometimes positioned far out from the target box, but he succeeds most of the time. Along with Lewis Graves, Santiago prefers to stay in the midfield or defend, opting to leave the offensive line to do their job. Due to their time together in ACFC, Santiago and Eddie Allison have extremely high chemistry.

SPELMEYER, Frank · #12 · 18 years old · Forward (LF) · Azemont Champions FC
Replacing regular team captain Jean Richelieu as the side's left-forward, the eighteen year old teenager has a lot of pressure on his back. With the offense lacking due to the absences of both Jean Richelieu and Axel Aubry, Spelmeyer, who was, coincidentally the colleague of both Richelieu and Aubry in their club, Azemont Champions FC, who won the Acronian Legends League, will have to match Richelieu's skill in dribbling, passing, and scoring in order to make up for the gaping hole in the attack.

VESPER, Saul · #2 · 24 years old · Forward (CF) · Cypress Hills FC
Saul Vesper, also known as 'the Six-Yard Shark', is infamous for his sly cleverness, and stealth around the opposing box. He displayed incredible reflex speed in the Acronian Legends League, where he scored six goals in fourteen games with a club known for its all-defensive playstyle, almost all by precise, sharp shots that all found the back of the net. His laziness, however, is a downside, as he almost never leaves the target box.

BLACKETT, Titus · #10 · 23 years old · Forward (RF) · Cypress Hills FC
Also known as 'the Swordfish', Titus Blackett is the teams's main source of income when it comes to goalscoring, superseding both Saul Vesper and Jean Richelieu. A veritable powerhouse of a striker, Blackett's speed along the right flank and what can be described as an overexertion of force he uses when shooting the ball is famous within the Free Union. He has excellent chemistry with Saul Vesper due in part to their experience together during the Acronian Legends League.

Breaking the Ice

Audioslavia don't beat Polar Islandstates. Just generally. You have to go far back in time, forty-eight years, in fact, to find the last time an Audioslavian eleven beat their Polarian counterparts, way back in the quarter-final of World Cup 63. As any Audioslavian will tell you, we won that World Cup. And the next one. The fact is, we might be up to five by now if it wasn't for those damned Polarians.

Three cycles later, the World Cup would be held in Audioslavia, and a strong Bulls team with home advantage had swept into the semi-final on the back of victories over Darmen and The Holy Empire. The clash with Polar Islandstates was billed as a showdown between two true footballing heavyweights. The reality of it was that only one team were really in the heavyweight category. Polar Islandstates, four inches and twenty pounds bigger to a man, outmuscled and outfought the home side on the way to a 1-0 result that drove a sword through the stomachs of those Audioslavians that watched it. Polar Islandstates went on to lose a thrilling final to a very skilfull Eura side. A Eura side that, perhaps, Audioslavia would have been better equipped to deal with than the comparitively less nimble Valhallans.

Four years later, the nords were taking silverware from Audioslavian hands a little more directly. The final of World Cup 67 saw the two sides do battle once more. Audioslavia had the better of a tough first half, but would once again be ground down and, after going a goal behind and having to chase the game, would fall in the final minutes thanks to captain Kohev Kungas-Vaga's bullet strike. KKV may have found forgiveness in part of Cathair. Most Audioslavians over thirty wouldn't be quite so magnanimous.

Finally, ten years ago, it was the turn of the World Cup quarter-final to play host to an Audioslavian defeat, as Polaria ran out three-one winners in another bruising game for the men (and woman) in claret and green. It's perhaps more of a stretch to imply Audioslavia would have gone on to win the semi and the final, but what can't be refuted is the fact that the Bulls were, at that point, on a run of twenty games without defeat, and who's to say they couldn't have scraped two more?

When viewed next to results from the early days of Audioslavia's return to world football, wherein our friends in the north took three wins and a draw over four encounters, the stats suggest Audioslavia's famous 1-0 win back in WC63 was an anomaly, maybe even a fluke. They say styles make fights, and though the average Audioslavian team has been able to counterpunch the over-aggressive Farfadillis to death on countless occasions, with only one loss, when presented with the physicality and controlled aggression of the Polarian game the Bulls have been found wanting time and time again. For some, that's the case, but most Audioslavians seem to be of the opinion that the Valhallans have somehow cast a hex over their team. For many, the friendly nature of this tournament, a warm up more for the hosts than the combatants, is just what Audioslavia need to take the pressure off.

How true that is depends on who you ask. Some may even try to tell you that even a five-nothing victory for Audioslavia won't change much in the long run. Audioslavia are no longer a truly elite team, drifting slowly down the rankings and losing any veneer of invulnerability they may once have had, and as such those marquee matches against the old northern enemy might be too few and far between in the future for the result tomorrow to really matter.

What is sure is that, if Audioslavia win, there will be an outpouring of emotion among those old enough to have lived through decades of heartache in games against the northmen.

Consisting of a massive (and improving) number of members, the Unified Sunrise Islands are based after their belief of Arceusism and its' many vertents built in order to adapt to different beliefs spread through the Multiverse.

This squad, clearly, doesn't fit the usual Unified Sunrisian national team type. That being said, it is the twentieth anniversary of the Foundation for Halves, an institution respected heavily by the Sunrisians, so they had to make up for it somehow.

THE BRINEMOUTH HERALD
CAN NEPHARA BREAK ITS CURSE AT LAST?
by Rowena Mason

Say what you will about the current state of the Cormorants - they fall to pieces the moment anything remotely resembling an Osarian comes to the table.

This doesn't really make sense on paper. After all, on the club scene, Osarians and Nepharim tend to occupy the same circles. Osarian clubs tend to appreciate the direct physicality and resilient attitude of Nepharim, while Premiership teams have twigged onto the fact that Osarians tend to be technically adept and willing to adapt well to foreign cultures. When Hastmead Diamante - already with Nephara's vice-captain Ashdown on the books - sold Nepharim winger Bottlegreen, they signed another young Nepharim winger (Cawdor) in her place. Meanwhile, Firewood City have Boston (the infamous makeweight of the deal that brought Acosta to Treason) and Kruse on the books, Trothwands signed Covenant for a princely sum after her breakthrough season, even lowly Shanak FC have an aging journeyman goalkeeper called Kieran Schrader in their ranks. Meanwhile, you can construct an entire XI (in a reasonable 3-5-2) of Osarians in Nephara - Altieri (Serpentine) in goal, Grana, Gallardo and Riviello (Treason/Crisisbless/Violence) across defence, Velasquez, Flynn and Acosta in midfield (Goodfeather/Chatswood/Treason), Martin and Hall (West Brinemouth and Coret) on the wings, Vastano and Puntoriero (Coret and Treason) up front. That's a respectable side.

So the sides have a certain familiarity with one another. And yet, in two meetings, the Firebirds have inflicted crushing 9-3 and 4-0 victories on their opponents. In a Nephara side resting Murdoch, Belfast and Ballard, this precedent does not bode well. Can this B-team break the trend? Not that the Firebirds will have a full-strength side, either - two different XIs took the field against Apox and Quebec (both winning comfortably), and a third is expected to face the Cormroants tonight. Both sides will be eager to use this match as a chance to claw their way into the competitive matches to come.

Caravella, for one, has a point to prove as always - she's excelled every time she's been called on, and has gone from being a pariah in public opinion (pilloried for trying to play both the Nepharim and Yttribian FAs to fight over her signature) to hearing occasional calls for her to start. Katskalidis and Kruse form an experimental centreback pairing and they've looked rock-solid together, while Griffiths has made a serious impression at leftback in her first two appearances, and may even be ready to seriously contest Stockinger's place during the qualifiers. Cawdor and Rivers, perpetually fighting to be 'the non-Bottlegreen winger', now have a chance to play in the same team, with Rivers in particular excelling (Cawdor, meanwhile, is yet to really stamp her authority in a more reduced role). Kestrel's made two cameos after missing the CE through injury, and done well in both. Rainsford might well start in qualifying at this rate, offering both solidity and nearly flawless technique in the heart of midfield, while Branagh - like Cawdor - needs to start making a serious impression if he's to trouble more competitive teamsheets. Christener and Kellard, of course, have nothing to prove. But perhaps it's Felix Keller who has been the most impressive, and for whom it has been the most important to impress.

A couple of years ago, Felix Keller had likely thought his bird had flown. It wasn't so bad. He was playing for Southfell United, a respectable side, scoring reasonably well in a strong league's top division. He'd at least represented his country at U-21 level. He was making enough money to last his whole life. But after signing for Sabrefell Athletic, Keller finally kicked the problems that had plagued his earlier years with Ritter and Southfell. Everyone knew Keller was lightning quick, but he lacked composure, and could too easily be shoved off the ball in a league as physical as the Premiership. But now he refuses to be bullied, is clinical given half a sight of goal, and has thrived as a more floating striker, able to drift with three attacking midfielders behind him. His role has been different for country, without the close support behind him but with true wingers on the flanks and, crucially, the ridiculous handful that Michael Kellard presents defenders. With less obligation to contribute to passing, and more space, Keller has run rampant with three goals from his two caps. One was even a header, looped over the Quebecois goalkeeper after Keller had evaded the defence.

So let that be a warning to the Firebirds. You've had it all your way in the past, and frankly, your quarterfinal victory three years ago will probably haunt us for years to come. But come tomorrow night? Things are going to be different.

Ok, so this was bloody late, but I've had a super busy couple of days. The Trindl Cup is forming a large part of Apox' preparations for the World Cup (seeing as we don't have qualifiers) so Olim Benzari has decided to employ a squad of 33 players, with each player starting a match. Substitutes will be taken from the remaining 22 players not starting any one specific rules.

Those of you competing in this probably know me and my RP permissions. Don't do anything I wouldn't be amused by and that I wouldn't do to you.
