NS Futsal World Cup Interest Thread (OOC)

Hi all!

I just came to know that there was an interest thread for a Futsal World Cup, but it never got on, so I and The Sword Bloke hope to revive the interest thread, and hopefully later organize a NS Futsal World Cup. The idea is that we would launch separate KPB Rankings that are participating and have registered; the Futsal World Cup KPB would not affect the Association Football World Cup KPB and would be totally separate, so that it does not disadvantage the nations that don't participate, respectively. The Di Bradini Cup(U21) and BoF(Baptism of Fire) are possibilities once above 20 nations are registered. The host bidding will of course be similar to the AF(Association Football) World Cup bidding.
20-32 nations, seperate KPB not affecting association football rankings, same host bidding format, DBC and BoF are optional not necessary(will be voted upon).

Oh, and, we will also make a committee of the more "experienced" and "interested" nations to help organize the cup.

I agree. But i think that also in the real world Futsal is given liitle attention. With that in mind even 20 nations would be enough. Disadvantage to the nations that dont participate would be avoidable if we could create a group of nations who would register themselves for the Futsal World Cup each year. 20-32 nations, seperate KPB not affecting association football rankings, same host bidding format, DBC and BoF are optional not necessary. Nothing to stop you posting an "interest" thread for the revival of the futsal World Cup, with a potential ranking system based off the KPB ranks. Probably best to start a new thread for it now, as most people participating in the WC won't be interested in this discussion, meaning it's probably best discussed outside of the WCDT.

I should point out, if you are going with a U-21 cup, you can' use the name Di Bradini unless Starblaydia gives you permission (Di Bradini being a player created by him)> That said, unless this thread generates a lot more interest, having more than one tournament is unlikely to work. The only sports which have big tournaments are football/soccer and the favourite American sports.

I have something to point out here. When there IS something like a 5ASWC established (with two worthwhile iterations under its belt), why make a new one? Like, the event did get on, but there was too much of a crunch for time, and we decided to pass. We'll get the sign ups up in a while just after the WCQ ends. Patience, bro.

Several RL years ago, the World Indoor Soccer Championship also used the futsal settings on xkoranate. Like many other non outdoor soccer/association football tournaments, some participants put in a worthwhile RP effort while others didn't RP. Most just accept this as fact.

With ancillary tournaments, participation is generally lower than the main tournament. So an under-any tournament is going to have even less participation than the main tournament. Just something to consider.

As far as a pre-tournament for new nations, the point there is so those brand-new to NS can get a little RP experience in before entering a long-established tournament with well-established and highly-ranked teams, the few ranking points they might earn from it can help their chances against other new teams and even others that merely sign up yet don't RP. With new tournaments, using ranks/ratings without the previous consent of the user (or group) that maintains them is generally frowned upon.

Finally, I also need to concur that using the terms "Di Bradini" and "BoF" are extremely poor etiquette. Asking "should there be U-21 and pre-tournament competitions?" would be a better way of asking.

Don't get me wrong, it's always good to see greater interest in the overall NS Sports community; yet not at the expense of sportsmanship on all sides.

Going to bump this thread up with some news.
After talking with Allied Omaha, we will not be holding a BoF or DBC style tournament with the upcoming Futsal World Cup. Signups should be opened up by Saturday or Sunday morning Melbourne time. Cheers.
