Royal Québec Football Association, on behalf of the Royal Kingdom of Québec, and Krytenian Football Association, on behalf of Krytenia, submit the following host bid for the 64th edition of the Cup of Harmony:
I. Cup of Harmony Hosts
About Krytenia
On the western shores of AO's Lake Bekk, Krytenia is known for its friendly and hard-working people, its melting-pot of races and ethnicities, and it's cosmopolitan cities. The nation is a constitutional monarchy, though the decisions and musings of King Tristan are held in high esteem by Parliament. Krytenian industry and manufacturing is regarded amongst the best in the region, and the populace's love for sport, and football especially, is practically legendary. Fans from all nations will receive a warm welcome, and will be guaranteed to leave happier than they arrived - even if they leave earlier than hoped.
The national team, meanwhile, are famed as the nearly men of global football. Five-time losing semi-finalists, they reached their one and only World Cup final in the fifty-eighth edition; they were defeated by Aguazul, however. Names such as Adam Vernazza, Ricky Sexton, Dave Van Staveren, and (of course) Valrauncion will trip off the tongue of those who enjoy the beautiful game. After a long hiatus, Krytenia have returned to the international scene for World Cup 72.
About Royal Kingdom of Québec
Located in Northern AO, Royal Kingdom of Québec is a nation known for its environment, rich cultural diversity and claims one of its region's most educated and cultured population. Led by His Imperial Majesty the Jacques IX, the country is a semi-constitutional monarchy, with both the royalty and the democracy playing a huge role in Quebecois politics. With a high HDI rating and affluent economy, Royal Kingdom of Québec is an advanced nation with long years of peace and stability within the nation, while still allowing for societal and economic progress over the course of its history. With a beautiful environment, advanced economy, state-of-art infrastructure and love of football, Royal Kingdom of Québec is your place to go for your once-in-a-lifetime voyage that welcomes every traveler with smile and cheer.
In terms of international football, Royal Kingdom of Québec is an emerging force. First making its appearance in World Cup 62, the Grim Reapers, after years of gradual development, have made some nice, growing presence in the international footballing community since then. In World Cup 69 the Quebecois qualified for its first ever World Cup proper, and was able to place their footprint in Apox. The National Team, in spite of longtime manager Ji Choon Kim's retirement and team corps in transitions, was able to continue their ascent in World Cup 70 when they once again made it to the World Cup proper. In spite of being unable to get past the group stage, the Grim Reapers nonetheless were able to show the Multiverse that they could contend among the best, and finally took a big step when they qualified for Round of Sixteen after very strong results against Polar Islandstates and Vilita. Royal Kingdom of Québec are currently ranked 19th in Multiverse. With fairly modest but recent success in World Cups, Royal Kingdom of Québec looks to have a bright future in international football.
II. Format
Due to the fluid and open nature of the Cup of Harmony when it comes to hosting, on top of selection criteria, various options will be available depending on the availability of RPers not only meeting our selection criteria, but also being able to participate. As have been and will be the case on this bid as well, the preferred format will be the conventional 8-group, 32-team format. Both hosts, however, will also be open to either expand or contract the tournament size to 24, 36, 40 and 48 team format. The format will be decided based on the criteria - we'll be looking for people who have posted a roster and RPed at least twice, with (subjective) quality of RP used as a tiebrak to round the numbers down a bit if required.
III. Scorination
We have contracted with the respected Xkoranate and firms for scorination services. We specifically requested that NSFS provide us with their traditional services, without any modifications. RP Bonus will be cumulative, non-degrading and will emphasize quality over quantity while remaining fair to all styles (basically, give us a reason to want to read/listen to/etc your RPs). The hosts will not be releasing the selection criteria nor RP scale, for obvious reasons we do not need to remind over and over again. Style modifiers will also be in use, from -5 to +5.
IV. Tiebreakers
The following tiebreakers will be used for teams level on points:
- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Head-to-head result
- Most wins
- Lots
