Just repeating what Alpine has said. Has anyone gotten in contact with EQS? Both the WCoH and the Under-18 World Cup have now been delayed. Does anyone know what's going on?

I've sent them a TG asking if everything's OK, so hopefully I should get a reply back. Because they have been on (in fact their last visit was yesterday morning) but they haven't posted since the 30th, which is a bit concerning. That being said, if there isn't a reply by the end of the week then I'll have a chat with Val to see what we should do, which would probably be to find another host.

Apologies for the delays, I've been having a few separate technical problems lately (including losing my internet connection for a few days and my laptop having issues) that are now resolved. I'm planning to resume scorination tonight (barring any other issues coming up, which given my luck as of late might not be that surprising).

I'll update the second half schedule later this afternoon.

Equestrian States posted in the forum the other day and scorinated the final of the U18 soccer cup but didn't scorinated the WCoH playoffs.

I messaged him/her yesterday and still haven't got a reply.

Can someone step in and scorinate the playoffs before the start of the soccer world cup? Thanks.

Agreed. I mean, unless the U-18 World Cup had a bigger delay than the WCoH (which is now about eight days) and ES wanted to get that done first, then there's not really much of an excuse for leaving it vacant this long. If it gets to fourteen days with no scorination then I might ask Val if she'd be alright with scorinating the rest of the tournament. Simply because a) she's still eternal president of the WCoH Federation, with me as your eternal vice-president; b) I don't think anyone would like to see the tournament cancelled before it's over and/or retconned and c) she was eliminated in the group stage, meaning that there wouldn't be any need to find someone to scorinate her games.

That being said, if you can find someone else to scorinate before the fourteen days then I'd say let them, as the sooner we get this thing done and dusted the better. I'm just saying that when we get to a certain point we should definitely look for someone to help us wrap things up.

We need someone with enough scorinating experience who can grade all the RPs that we wrote in the group stage.

First off, I'm extremely sorry about all the delays and generally being AWOL recently. To be entirely honest, I've been dealing with some fairly significant medical issues in the last week (unrelated to the illness I had last month, for those of you in-the-know) that have left me completely exhausted mentally and physically. I don't want to go into any of the details on the matter, though it's not life-threateningly serious, so don't worry too much about me there.

As for the WCoH, I believe I should be able to continue hosting without further unannounced delays, though admittedly I also thought that earlier this month. Don't think I'll ever ask "what else could possibly go wrong?" again. That said, if the general consensus of the Federation is that I hand over hosting duties to someone else for the playoffs, I'd understand completely. The tournament needs to finish, and I've been a pretty shit host this time around. If y'all would rather me finish up the tournament, I'd look to get things back underway tomorrow evening (albeit with a slightly adjusted cutoff time). The playoff format in my bid means that we'd then wrap things up in no more than two weeks, though that probably still wouldn't let us finish before the WCQs start.

Seconded, though I will also say that if you're absolutely positively sure that you're unable to continue hosting the tournament or you just don't want to, you're more than welcome to find someone else to host the tournament for you. Because, while it's important that we finally get this done, it's not important enough that you should force yourself to finish it, since real life should always come first.

Maybe you could do a "we are not giving up our players for the WCoH" thing like the NHL does and play with a prospect team or with players playing abroad à la Spengler Cup Team Canada (I have a few in Savojarna btw, in case you'd have lost track - they aged along with the rest of the league and I can give you an overview if you like) until you get some rank back. Or, you know, maybe that's how you find out the OJL isn't as good as you thought anymore, which could be interesting for RPing too. I used my own disappointing results as basis for a major league reform this year and used it for things like political coups and changes due to frustrated fans in the past. Could also be upheaval within the league or confederation, which is my thing if I have not enough time to RP stuff domestically.

All in all, I get why it's frustrating to have dropped in the rankings while canonically retaining a good league, and every nation designed with ice hockey as their national sport somewhat has that issue when starting, but I think it's a bit baseless to reset rankings based on that when there hasn't been a massive change in the system of the WCoH.

supppppppppper late, but I've used the excuse that the OJL and the WCoH Federation haven't been able to agree on a new agreement since the previous one has expired, and therefore the OJL will not loan their players to the Ontorisan WCoH team.

Sorry, Ko. I know the feeling, but replace my name with 'Valanora', and you will understand my struggle for the last few years.
Also, I hope Valanora knows that all that animosity from that RP is IC and I have much love and respect.

This has been a dream fulfilled for 6+ RL years and I feel like a weight has been lifted. I look forward to the next one and I don't know about you all, but I want to revisit the NS club hockey trades and transfers lists and breathe some new life into that. I'm going to be retiring a lot of vet players now and they are up for player, management, assistant coach and trainer positions in other parts of the multiverse.

Congratulations to you on a stellar performance and your first tournament title, it was great to compete with you for the duration of the series and I hope to see it turn into a budding rivalry for the future.

Many thanks to EQS for hosting the tournament and his work on keeping the tournament running, I hope to see you host many more tournaments in the future and maybe finally win something in the Equestrian States after finshing in 2nd place twice in as many months.

I may not be a seasoned-veteran when it comes to the intricacies Ice Hockey, far from it actually, but I have picked up many pointers from users across the site to improve my RPs and ensure the sport grows in Mercedini not only at an IC level, but OOCly as my personal interest in the sport grows.

I welcome and hope to support Neu Engollon's plans to renew interest in the domestic side of the sport and hope to see comeptitions like the Hockey Champions League grow with new and returning nations. The new season of MSL is just around the corner so stay tuned for that.

All that's left for me to do is to thank everyone involved in the tournament for their RPs and involvement. I hope to see you all back on the ice when we do this all over again!
