#7 Agata De Luca (CAM, 18 years old, ♀, Image Rennes)
#19 Sofia Busto (CF, 19 years old, ♀, Image Rennes)

Stuff that's nice to know:
Louargat had a really good run in the Champions' Cup this year after winning the league. Rennes finished second and also did well in the UICA's Globe Cup. Guingamp won the first three editions of Kernansquillec's First Division. Hector Ferly, Porsche Félix, Hugo Gashotov, Melodie Corren, Lilly James, Sieffre Spijker, Agata De Luca, Morgane Tilly and Kéziah Carrac were all in Kernansquillec's DBC 32 squad that saw them exit at the Group Stage, finishing 3rd out of 5 teams. Kernansquillec's best performance in the DBC came in DBC 31 when they finished 3rd on their return to the competition after a lengthy absence. They had previously finished 4th twice. Peter Lilac, the senior team's prolific striker netted 9 goals in the last two DBC but is too old to feature this edition. Carrac is the top scorer in the team, having scored 3 goals for the under 21s already. All of those goals came in DBC 31. Kéziah Carrac missed out on the Copa Rushmori to play with the under 21s, but despite being a member of the senior team she starts on the bench after recent hamstring problems. Jeffry Dufour is in change of the team for his first DBC. Hector Ferly is the only Kernansquillecan international (senior or U21) player to play abroad: he plays for FC Denison in Super Llamaland.

The Euran Football Association’s DBC33 Squad

Manager: Mike Humphrey (48, Eura)

Mike Humphrey has managed at club level and Euran Olympic teams in the past, and the former Eura international defender with a hefty collection of caps - over 200 - takes charge again, this time of the youth team. He has taken an unlikely approach this time round, going for a defensive posture.

Assistant Manager: Tom Riley (40, Eura)

Euran World Cup winning captain Riley aims to build up his managerial credentials with this post.

FIRST GAME DISAPPOINTMENT FOR DUFOUR
Wirnhier's first under 21 goal wasn't enough to give Kernansquillec a win against The Royal Barangay. His goal just before the half hour mark was cancelled out with just twelve minutes left on the clock leaving the Green and Whites disappointed despite getting their first point on the table. Dufour gained his first point as coach but was left unhappy after the game. Indeed, Kernansquillec should really have won the game. Wirnhier hit the post from close range early in the game in a golden opportunity while James went close with a curling effort. Busto made her debut for the team late on and went close: her powerful shot was tipped wide by the Royals' keeper.

Kernansquillec are hoping to qualify for the group stage proper. So far they have never failed to reach that stage, but the team they are fielding does lack experience and last time out a similar team failed to make the knockout rounds for the first time in the Kers' history. Nova Anglicana are up next for the Green and Whites. They had a bye for the first matchday so they will be looking to get their competition off to the best of starts. However, Kernansquillec will be looking to get a first win of the campaign as they march on. A defeat would be a huge blow to their chances of qualifying. Star United States currently lead the group after a 2-0 over Chiata whom Kernansquillec recently got the better of in World Cup qualifying.

WILL RUSHMORI FOOTBALL BE COMING TO THE CAPITAL?
With the deadline for stadia bids for the Copa Rushmori fast approaching, rumors of a Kernansquillecan bid are gaining pace. The Kernansquillecan Football Association (KERFA) is understood to be very intrested in hosting a part of the international tournament after the success of hosting the final rounds of the Series B Champions' Cup and Youth Cup a few seasons ago. International reviews of Kernansquillec's welcome were positive and Kernansquillecan hospitality is well known of within the region.

The National Stadium in the capital is the most likely candidate. With a capacity of 110,000 and having already hosted two UICA finals in 2060 the Green Jewel is easily accessible from across Rushmore. Rennes' Stade de Beaulieu with a capacity of 69 778 is also understood to be considering a bid as the club seek to confirm themselves as one of Kernansquillec's most elite clubs. Binic's Quarry stadium may also make a move in order to bring international football to northern Kernansquillec.

The Rise and Fall
Chapter 3, Into the City
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
The Battle of Jarille | An Ending to the War? | Into the City

High in the sky, it flew.

The smoke started to disperse into the morning sky. The sun decorated the sky in an orange color, and it’s beauty could not go unnoticed.

The President arrived at the city. He started at the clear waters. The shimmering blue waters reflected the unnoticed beauty of the glorious city. He still had not grasped what had happened, that the dreadful war was finally over. “We won. We won,” is all that crossed through his head at moment being.

The country sat at the edge of their seats. What was too happened? The President arrived at his location, and promptly went to his room. As he walked into the tall, and thin, building, he was greeted by some many.

He walked into the carpeted, and prestigious lobby. The lobby was golden. The walls were painted in a gold color, and the chandeliers hanged of, to what seemed to be, a thin rope, as if they were holding on to life itself. They were golden as well. The light reflected of them, just as the ocean reflects the light of the sun. It was a magnificent sight, one that could not go unnoticed.

President Tyson walked through the lobby, looking straight forward. He sight did not depart from the two silver doors at the end of the hallway. Protected by various guards, dressed in black, he paced down the hallway towards the doors. The elevator arrived at the first floor, and for safety reasons, two guards took the first ride on it.

Minutes later, the elevator returned to the lobby. The President slowly stepped onto, and he took a look around. His guards followed him. The inside of the elevator was beautiful. He has never seen anything like it before. There were various wooden panels that covered the top half of the elevator. It seemed like Quebracho , or something related. A metal rail separated the top half from the bottom. The rail reflected the light, and has a glow to it. On the bottom half was one panel of wood. It seemed like Cebil, to what the eye could tell.

“I did not think we would get this far,” thought Steven Tyson, as he watched his guard press the button for the highest floor, “today will be a great day for Star United States, or so I hope.” He had never liked elevators.

A less-than-a-minute elevator ride seemed liked ages for Tyson. He mind flew faster than anything physically possible. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. It was until then that he noticed the low elevator music, as it escaped from the speaker above the fire alarm, but below the camera.

“The camera,” he thought, “there’ll be plenty of those.” The elevator finally reached a stop, and it opened to a long hallway. There was a door at the end of hallway. Tyson stared at the carpet as he walked down the passageway. He noticed the prefect design of the carpet, in it’s red glory. He liked it.

Before he knew it, he was at the end of the hallway. Face to face to the door, he reached out his arm to grab the silver handle. His sleeve rose up his arm a little as he stretched it forward. He pushed the door.

He walked into an appealing room. Unlike the hallway, the room had a wooden floor. He walked across the room, carefully placing his feet on the glossy floor. He examined the area.

The first thing he noticed was the large window at the opposite extreme of the room. He slowly walked up to it. As he approached the window, he crashed into something. He admired the beauty of the city below. He saw a note that said: “You can see out. No one can see in.”

Off in the distance, he could see it. The tall flag pole, there it was. Red, black, and yellow no longer danced in the wind. It was now different. In it’s place was now a blue-shaded cloth, enriched with a yellow, and white color, that flew majestically in the sky. New, and marvelously, it stood.

He could also see the columns of smoke rising into the atmosphere. He bowed his head in disgrace. He shut his tired eyes. “I’m sorry,” he whispered as if there was someone else in the room.

He walked around the room once again, just looking around. Three white sofas made a U-shape around the big, flat screen TV, and a black table was located in the middle. The table has a vase with flowers on it. He touched the sofa. They were as soft as silk, yet as firm as a tree. White roses, they had such a great smell that it filled the whole room. Small, squared, and black tables were located the ends of the sofas, each of them having their own lamp, that had a golden touch to them.

He walked into the kitchen to see black marble counter-tops, and silver sinks., along with wooden cabinets. It was an amazing sight to behold. He walked around the island in the kitchen, and found his way into the bedroom.

He slowly opened the door. He strolled into the room, and sat down on the white bed. The bed was as white as snow. He laid back and placed his head onto the pillow. The pillows were full of feathers. Tyson relaxed, and closed his tired eyes. He drifted into sleep.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. His alarm repeated the sound. Steven, quickly, opened his eyes. It was dark in the room. He looked over at his clock, 5:45 am. He sighed, and rolled out of bed. Today was the big day! He was somewhat excited. He laid out his outfit on the bed.

A dress suit, of course, was the chosen outfit. A grey suit, with a blue shirt. The tie was a lighter blue. He undressed and stepped into the shower. He twisted the handle, and to his surprise cold water trickled onto his body. He jumped with a loud crash. He turned the cold water off.

Quickly, someone knocked on the door. “Mr. President, Mr. President, are you alright?”
The president, almost immediately, responded, “I am alright. Thank you.” He resumed his shower, and turned the handle that controlled the flow of the warm water.

He finished ready, and came out of the bedroom. Breakfast was already served, and was sitting on the dining table. “Was this table here last night?” he questioned himself. He sat down, joining his personal assistance.

“Good morning, Mr. President.”
“Morning to you as well. There’s nothing good about it.”
“Is everything okay, Mr. President?”
“Please, I told you that you don’t have to call me Mr. President in everything you tell me.”
“I know, Mr. President.”

Steven stared at here for a moment, and looked down at this plate. There was a little note next to the plate, which read: “A tradition hispanic meal. Enjoy.” The food was amazing, and he enjoyed every minute of it. However, it was time to go.

He walked out of the room, and looked at the pole in the distance. He sighed. He made his way towards the elevator, and back into the lobby. Many people were gathered to see the President in the lobby. His guards created a path for him, and he quickly exited the building.

A guard open the door to a black vehicle. He stepped in.

They drove through the city, a glorious city. However, the President could not just concentrate on it. His mind was elsewhere. He thoughts fought in his mind.

“Some many died. Was this war for the best of country? Of course it was, more people died when they bombed City of Star anyway. Oh my goodness, what am I saying? or thinking?”

Before he grasped where he was it, the door of the car flung open to voice saying: “Mr. President, your flight awaits you.”

The President did not understand why he had to stop by this city, however, he quietly acquiesced to what his assistant told him at time being.

He walked onto his private jet. The jet was small, but yet it was large enough. It was painted in a celestial blue, with the new flag painted on the tail wing of it.

The flight lasted for no more than one hour. “Mr. President, we have arrived at Lake Star.”

“Lake Star,” he thought. The words echoed through his head. “This is it. It ended here, and out of all places, I have to give my announcement here at the battlefield.”

"Hello, good afternoon, and welcome to this special sportnyheter.vu bulletin on the u-21s national football team. Ole van Jendrisen's role as u-21s boss is and has always been one focused on player development. The successes of the past might be weighing on his mind as something to emulate with this squad, but bringing the awareness and squad readiness of these players up to the standard required by Rasmussen with the Terns is the number one priority. He brings a number of debutantes into this squad this time around, and it's time to see how this latest batch progresses."

GK
#1 - GK - Gunnsteinn Moskowitz - Age 19 - Strike FC (Vilita)
#12 - GK - Simonen Perre - Age 20 - Hospitaliers
#13 - GK - Guus Doctorow - Age 19 - FC Solovetsky Monastery
"With a double-whammy of keepers getting too old for this side, only Perre keeps his place in the squad - despite Hospitaliers' relegation it is thought his first team experience was enough to convince van Jendrisen. Coming into the squad therefore are the exceptionally gangly Doctorow of Solovetsky, and the very highly thought of Gunnsteinn Moskowitz, who has been setting ex-pat tongues a-wagging in Vilita by all accounts."

DEF
#2 - DR - Teitur Ronkainen - Age 21 - RSK Longyearbyen Town - CAPTAIN
#3 - DC - Iosef Winter - Age 20 - SK Aasiaat Harbour
#4 - DC - Iosef Miroshnichenko - Age 20 - East Franz Athletic
#5 - DL - Eirikur Sigurdsson - Age 21 - East Franz Athletic
#18 - DR - Morten Pshenichny - Age 19 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls
#19 - DL - Arvid Shubukin - Age 19 - Jan Mayen Islanders
#21 - DC - Victor Otkupshchikov - Age 21 - Northbrook Diamonds FK
#22 - DC - Jakob Argyle - Age 18 - Franz Josef Young Boys
#23 - DC - Sammi Ovcharenko - Age 19 - SK Franz Josef City
"Teitur Ronkainen is kept from the Copa Rushmori squad by special request of van Jendrisen, allowing him to retain the captain's armband here, something that obviously meant more to him than the chance of a few caps off the bench for the Terns. Admirable spirit from the young lad, there. Joining him in the back line will be the talented trio of Winter, Miroshnichenko, and the younger of the Otkupshchikov brothers now snapped up by Northbrook. Arvid Shubukin is a player who will be familiar to many Divisjon One watchers, featuring for Jan Mayen as he has done on a number of occasions as the rebuild continues apace there. Also arriving in the squad is Pshenichny of Surtsey, and the young figure of Jakob Argyle, who has been a feature of Young Boys' matchday squads all season."

MID
#6 - DMC - Karl-Franz Klemmensen - Age 20 - Jan Mayen Islanders - Vice-Captain
#7 - AMC - Sim Lefebvre - Age 20 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls
#8 - MC - Johannes Skjoldebrand - Age 21 - SC Kiel
#14 - MC - Adam Rukovskaya - Age 18 - SK Sturm Nuuk
#15 - DMC - Olivier Moscovich - Age 19 - Red Star Severny
#16 - AMC - Kirill Asgeirsson - Age 20 - FC Axel Heiburg
#17 - MC - Mikkel Moen - Age 21 - Northbrook Diamonds FK
"Karl-Franz Klemmensen steps up into the vice-captain position this time around, and he is the biggest name in a midfield that's been jiggled around slightly. Lefebvre's attacking tendencies have lead to van Jendrisen affording him a greater creative role, whilst Skjoldebrand's strength leads to his more conservative role by comparison. Rukovskaya is something of a wildcard selection from van Jendrisen, though Asgeirsson's call-up is seen by many as long overdue. We'll have to see who comes out the better at the tournament. Mikkel Moen's experience is still not quite enough for a starting role apparently."

ATT
#9 - ST - Johannes Huso - Age 20 - Franz Josef Young Boys
#10 - ST - Kjartan Grndstrom - Age 20 - SK Franz Josef City
#11 - ST - Sebastien Enger - Age 20 - FC Torshavn
#20 - ST - Erik Zhamaletdinov - Age 18 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls
"Up front, Johannes Huso and Kjartan Grndstrom's partnership is a strong one on paper, with the target man of Huso providing an excellent outlet for Grndstrom's tricks, flicks, and build-up play. Naturally a player who likes to play further down the pitch, Grndstrom's progression to more of a striker than a midfielder is an interesting one, though he'll have out-and-out strikers Enger and Zhamaletdinov waiting to play if it doesn't work out. Plucked from the relative obscurity of Islay Thistle by FC Torshavn, Enger's rise has taken its latest stratospheric jump forwards here with the call-up from van Jendrisen."

Probable Starting formation: 3-3-2-2

Manager Jock Sonny returns to his day job after a successful first season in charge of MPL runners-up Cornellians. The experienced coach successfully took the U-21s to the round of 16 last time round, after coming through an initial qualifying round. Despite going six games undefeated the White and Greens eventually lost out narrowly to beaten finalists Nephara.

Schottia will likely line up with a relatively unchanged side, with only a few notable absences. FC Soessch midfielder Till Umann will be a miss, as the injury which kept him out of the Cup of Harmony is still an issue for the 19-year-old. There was also some speculation that Port Sebastian Wonderkid Joey Bia might be included, however the player has pulled out through fatigue after a grueling World Cup cycle. Jottnar Kallsmudden player Kim Coultan is expected to fill in for Umann, after an impressive first season in the Buyanese league. The little midfielder should add something different to the side with her pace and precision.

Other new recruits include 20-year-old Ismal Keruit, the attacking midfielder joins up with Cornellians teammates Scott Burton and Jeremy McNott. Strikers Lenard Koor and Nik Konstidios receive their first call-ups from Port James and Hillstreet respectively. The latter, a Draconian by birth, becomes the second naturalized player to enter the Schottia set up this year. Another notable name on the team sheet is D'Itille's 16-year-old winger Caitlin L'Attue. The teenager is the youngest player, and only the second woman, to score in the SPL this season.

Jock Sonny goes with the same back four as last time. Larry Watt and Paul Doig marshaling the wing back positions, with Scott Burton and Gareth Souter resuming their partnership at centre back. Newcomer Coultan is paired with Belker boy Thio Crillin in the centre of midfield with team captain and Senior team player Eoin Killanen just in front of them. Another player with full international experience Craig O'Maramy will be hoping that he can produce the same kind of form he found last time round on the right wing. Handon United player Chris Dickson is on the left, with team mate Glen Stephens in the lone striker position.

Squad:

Image

GK. Jeremy McNott, Image Cornellians (MPL), 20. Height: 186cm. Weight: 83kg
Despite being capped at U-15, U-19, and U-21 levels McNott has so far spent the majority of his career keeping the bench warm. Recently signed for MPL side Cornellians, he will be hoping his chance comes sooner rather than later. McNott is a tall athletic keeper, reliable in the air and a competent shot stopper.

RB. Larry Watt, Image Marionville, 21. Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg
One of the standout players for Marionville, and an important part of the Schottic U23s team who reached the Olympic Q-finals. The speedy wingback is seen as a natural long-term replacement to Handon United right-back Jack Gordon. Watt recently received a call up to the Senior squad after call-offs just before the Cup of Harmony. The young fullback has already attracted the attention of a few bigger clubs.

LB. Paul Doig, Image Port Sebastian, 19 Height: 175cm. Weight: 65kg
The player who came through in the same crop of youngsters as Gary Corsie, Mark Allen, and Joey Bia, will hope that he can follow the other Port Sebastian graduates into the Senior team soon. Doig is a no-nonsense full back, good with the ball at his feet, and quick to join the attack. Possibly his most valuable asset is his long throw, which can put any defence under pressure.

CB. Gareth Souter, Image Handon United, 18 Height: 188cm. Weight: 79kg
The Handon United centre back is widely tipped as a future starter for the national team. The 18-year-old burst onto the scene at the end of last season and has so far been very impressive, showing composure far beyond his years. Souter is defender with a good footballing ability and is capable of filling in at central midfield.

CB. Scott Burton, Image Cornellians (MPL), 21 Height: 179cm. Weight: 69kg
Scott Burton finally got his big break this season when he signed for MPL side Cornellians. The 21-year-old is a strong reliable central defender, who can cause defences problems from set plays. Having played in the Lammerton City first team for three seasons before joining the Eagles, he brings some real experience to the side.

RM. Craig O' Maramy, Image New Belfast Warriors, 21 Height: 177cm. Weight: 62kg
O'Maramy is easily one of the best wide men in the Schottic league right now. A stand out player during the last Di Bradini Cup, he has since made five sub appearances for the Senior team scoring two goals in the process. Even at 21, he is already a key player for his club New Belfast Warriors, who currently sit top of the SPL. O'Maramy is blessed with huge amounts of pace, skill and stamina. He is a good crosser of the ball, but also likes to cut in and shoot, as his goal tally at club level would suggest.

LM. Christopher Dickson, Image Handon United, 21 Height: 181cm. Weight: 74kg
Christopher Dickson has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet for Handon United. The player has received praise for his attitude and work ethic, as well as his creative style of play. Rather than a wing forward, Dickson is more of a left sided midfielder, who is well suited to the flat 4-1-4-1 that his club side play. The 21-year-old has been mentioned a few times regarding a Senior team call up, but with some good players ahead of him in the queue, he may have to wait.

CM Thio Crillin, Image Hollin, 21 Height: 188cm. Weight: 88kg
Tipped for a long time to make the step up the Senior squad, Crillin has been on the Schottia fans' radar for a while. There was some speculation that he would be the natural replacement to former full team captain Colin Donaldson when he retired, however that has not yet materialised. Crillin is a tall physically imposing player, who should be a good foil midfield partner Kim Coultan. Already a firm favourite with his club Hollin, he is another youngster who brings plenty of first team experience with him.

CM Kim Coultan, Image Jottnar Kallsmudden, 18 Height:160cm Weight:52kg
Kim Coultan is a player who has really bust onto the scenes in Schottia. One season ago she was on the fringes of a Dundee side narrowly securing promotion to the Premier Division. However, since Buyanese side Jottnar Kallsmudden took a chance on the teenager, her fortunes have been transformed. She now features regularly for her club in Buyan's top tier and won her first senior cap in the recent Cup of Harmony. Coultan is a quick agile player, who is always looking to move the ball forward. Fantastic on either foot, what the midfielder lacks in physical presence she makes up for with technique.

ACM Eoin Killanen, Image FC Zurich, 20 Height:176cm Weight:70kg c
The player in the squad with the most Senior team appearances, Killanen has been the captain for the last two tournaments. The FC Zürch man can play anywhere in attacking midfield and is notoriously hard for defenders to pick up. He has an excellent strike on him, and is deadly from the edge of the 18-yard-box. The only weakness to his game is his selfishness in attack, which can infuriate the fans.

CF Glen Stephens, Image Handon United, 19 Height: 181cm. Weight: 80kg
There is no doubt Glen Stephens will be an outstanding player for many years to come. He is well used to playing the lone striker role for club and country. Stephens can hold the ball up well, and brings other players into the game. His goal to game ratio for the U-21s has been very impressive.

Subs:

GK Scott Torrance, Image FC Soessch, 19. Height: 190cm. Weight: 88kg
The keeper for Soessch youth team, Torrance has a big future in the game.

RB Nathan Snell, Image La Gorlions, 19. Height: 184cm. Weight: 78kg
Snell has been in and around the Schottic youth set up his entire career. He is a valuable player for his club La Gorlions.

CB Desmond Dispson, Image Soessch, 20. Height: 175cm. Weight: 69kg
Another kid from the highly rated Soessch U-21s.

LCB Davy Keates, Image Port Patrick United, 21. Height: 193cm. Weight: 86kg
Giant centre back Keats is the only player in the squad who doesn’t play in the top tier of their respective league. After being dropped by Handon United two seasons ago he has worked hard to get his career back on track.

CM Sam Tomlin, Image Post Sebastian, 20 Height: 170cm. Weight: 66kg
Quick and agile, Tomlin is a hot prospect at club Port Sebastian. He will be hoping to make his first appearance for the U-21s this time round.

RM Caitlin L'Attue, Image D'Itille, 16 Height: 172cm. Weight: 60kg
Teen sensation Catline L'Attue, along with U-21s teammate Kim Coultan, has been tipped to be the player to really put female footballers on the map in Schottia. Her rise to prominence has been impressive, going from academy hopeful to valuable first team player almost over night. This season she became the youngest player to score in the SPL.

LM Jack Briers, ImageNew Belfast Warriors, 17. Height: 177cm. Weight: 70kg
The 17-year-old is a first team player for league leaders New Belfast Warriors. He has won many fans with his pace and direct running.

ACM Ismal Keirut, Image Cornellians (MPL), 20. Height: 185cm. Weight: 74kg
Keirut is a player who will probably feature a lot for Jock Sonny's team this tournament. He has played well for MPL side Cornellians this seasons after signing from one of the national academies.

CF Fred Dawson, Image Port Sebastian, 20 Height: 182cm. Weight: 75kg
Dawson, like all the strikers in Sonny's U-21s, plays regularly for one of the SPL's top sides. He is a clear second behind Stephens in the pecking order.

CF Jane Swanson, Image Handon Ladies, 21. Height: 174cm. Weight: 64kg
The third female in the side and the only one who plays in the womens' league.

SS Lenard Koor, Image Port James Athletic, 19 Height: 179cm. Weight: 72kg
One of the surprise inclusions in the squad, Koor is in largely as a result of his club's success early in the season.

CF Nik Konstidios, Image Hillstreet, 21 Height: 182cm. Weight: 75kg
One of a couple of naturalised players in the Schottia set up, Konstidios was born in Draconia. He is in the side purely as a result of his fantastic form for his club Hillstreet.

Torgos Tribune ~ Welcome To The Future

The age of the Manageress is over and her understudy has come into their position, but not only that, the main national team has seen a massive overhaul in the pool with the aging stars of the previous three World Cups now past their prime. They make way for newer, younger, fresher talent that will hopefully continue to push Pasarga's success in the international theatre as one of the premier footballing nations. With the change of leadership and a new generation taking over, the PFA also decided to use a new set of kits, though if they will be used outside of the DBC and Copa Rushmori is current unknown, as their representatives at the DBC will be looking to renegotiate a contract with Ediraf.

Whatever the case may be, if these new kits are here to stay or just a temporary celebration set for the tenure that the manageress had over Pasarga, the Young Wanderers debuted them in a victory that would have had the manageress smiling. Buyoed by the fact that many of the players are already on clubs, opposed to the tradition of using young, promising but unattached players for the youth team, the Young Wanderers were able to stifle all of the attacking flow that their foes tried to implement. Demeter Agoston displayed those same catlike reflexes when the defense did allow a shot that Pasargans are accustomed to seeing in the week to week action of the SuperLiga in net, getting his first clean sheet in his first cap and sure to impress Jullian van Setten when he looks to decide who the third keeper for the World Cup come about.

Davor Antunović was able to sneak past the Patistan defense at the half hour mark after Inèz van Stiphout performed some fancy footwork to slip by one defender and send in her striking partner in behind the rest of the backline. With only the keeper to beat, the young strike lobbed the rushing keeper for the one and only goal of the game, though no doubt that will be the first of many for the young Baskita striker. Patistan turtled up even more after the goal and with a barricade before them, the Young Wanderers were content to simply play the possession game for the majority of the rest of the match, taking their victory and moving forward with this preliminary stage.

The prelim group should be highly manueverable for the Young Wanderers, especially with one victory out of the way, though with the likes of Eura in the group as well, you can never be too careful. Yet with the top three of each group advancing to the tournament proper, the chances that the Wanderers have to doubling their DBC trophies is quite high. Eura is the next opponent and the familarity that each team has with one another through the various stages of regional competition will make it an interesting clash, especially considering the two are the favorites for the group. The Eura side will be looking to bounce back though after their surprise draw with Allied Omaha, so expect to see a highly intense side as the two meet, though that intensity could be their undoing if our lads and lasses can sustain the pressure and hit back in this early pivotal clash of Rushmori titans.

"In A Way It Makes Sense": An Interview with Coach Trujillo
By Carlos del Negro, two days ago

The name "Avery Trujillo" first rose to the forefront of Mesillano soccer almost twenty years ago, as the nation was recovering from the cultural trauma of the Strange. A story emerged about the small town of Douglas, which had rallied around its high-school soccer program as a way to bootstrap out of the post-Strange doldrums, and a high-school wrestler who had been cajoled into playing soccer and wound up as the team captain, leading the Douglas Bulldogs to the first league title to be contested in the post-Strange era. That wrestler's name was Avery Trujillo, and many believed he dropped off the map after his senior season, when the Bulldogs failed to defend their title, but in reality his soccer journey was just beginning.

After graduation, Trujillo became one of the first recruits in the newly-organized Mesillano Defense Force and shipped out to basic training at the then-newly-built Camp Oppenheimer. Upon arriving to his first unit, the Second Air Defense Artillery based out of White Sands, his skill at soccer was noticed in a scrimmage one day during physical training and he was recruited to the battalion's team in the post intramural league. After two years and two championships, he got a try out for the newly-formed White Sands club team, the Minutemen, which competes in the CAR (Carlsbad-Alamogordo-Roswell) league, one of the top leagues in La Mesilla.

The Minutemen would prove competitive in the CAR league, losing the inaugural championship to Artesia 1-0, and after five years with the Minutemen, two as captain, Trujillo got orders to play full-time for the newly-formed Strangers FC. Already 34 years old, Trujillo played half a season for the Strangers before a nagging injury forced him to retire. The same day he announced his retirement, he was named as the head coach for the Baby Bronze in its first-ever Di Bradini Cup.

We sat down with Coach Trujillo to get some of his thoughts on coaching, leadership, and the future of Mesillano soccer.

NA: You've just won your first match against Vermark at home, and next you'll travel to The Sword Bloke before an early bye. What do you make of the Vermark match?
AT: I'd say I'm happy we won, but not necessarily satisfied with everything I saw. We won by a good margin, always nice to get that clean sheet, but I saw some sloppy play on defense that's going to need fixing before we consider ourselves contenders for the DBC. I want to see cleaner tackles, better position play, and better communication across the board before I say I'm satisfied with the way this team is performing. These were all things I tried to drill into their heads during camp, but I think we've lost ground on some of them.

Clearly something went right on defense if you managed a clean sheet. What did you see that you'd like to see more of?
I thought Miles Hurst did an outstanding job in the box, both blocking shots and directing traffic, but I think your article nailed it, that the best defense in this case was a good offense. Manuel Reid had an exceptional game, as did Octavia Thomas, and that made up for a lot of mistakes in the backfield.

Speaking of Reid and Thomas, both have contracts overseas instead of with Strangers. What do you say to those who say that the Baby Bronze and the Strangers reserves should be one in the same?
I think they're [expletive] idiots. Coach Finke does a great job of recruiting, but the multiverse is [expletive] huge, bigger than we could ever know, and there are a lot of clubs out there offering more than Strangers can. It's inevitable that some of the best Mesillano talent is going to sign abroad, and it's a sign of the maturity of our soccer culture that we welcome those players home to represent their country. I don't know what kind of xenophobic [expletives] would deny our boys and girls the opportunity to ply their trade abroad, but they clearly don't understand soccer.

You mentioned Everett Finke, coach of the Strangers FC. Did his coaching style influence yours at all while you were there?
Definitely in terms of the kinds of drills I run with my players. At White Sands, we usually had player-coaches, so most of their drills were related to whatever position they played, but with Finke he was able to integrate everybody. I use a lot of drills we did with Strangers because I'm familiar with them, and I know the Strangers players are familiar with them, too. For how I interact with the players, though, I like to think I'm straight up MDF with them. I treat them like soldiers. In a way it makes sense; I'm like a hybrid soccer player-slash-soldier, so my coaching style is that way too.

Your team practices at White Sands, and you hosted Vermark on the Minutemen's home pitch on base. How has training on a military base affected your team?
Maybe I'm biased, but I think it's the perfect place to train a soccer team. They all live in three eight-man rooms in a barracks that they share with privates on their way to and from Camp Oppenheimer, so no matter how bad they think they have it, the people below them always have it worse or have had it worse. They eat in the chow hall together. They take out their own trash and clean their own latrines, so there's no privilege among them. A couple thought they could get out of cleaning details for the first week or so, but we got them straightened out and they're better for it.

How does sleeping in a barracks affect how your team plays on the field?
It affects their trust and comfort levels. These guys are young, they don't have the experience playing with each other, so they need to get comfortable with each other before they can really be effective as a team on the field. My players don't sit in their rooms and listen to music like some of these teams; when I see them, they're huddled around a laptop watching a movie together, or they're going in on a pizza, or just sitting around talking. They have the shared experience of living together, so they have that trust a lot of these teams don't have.
Reid Features for Baby Bronze in 2-1 Win over The Sword Bloke
By Carlos del Negro, one day ago

Twenty-one year-old striker Manuel Reid delivered twice for the Baby Bronze yesterday to put them over the top against The Sword Bloke. The player from Silver City, signed with Vermillion Rage of Nephara, is among the leading scorers in the Di Bradini Cup after scoring one against Vermark and now both goals in the matchup against Sword Bloke. Despite conceding a goal, general consensus appeared the be that the team's form was overall better than against Vermark, where a thunderous offensive performance offset a lackluster backfield.

"I'm more concerned with the three points than the one," said coach Avery Trujillo, "I told them from the beginning I'm not going to fret over statistics as long as we come away with the win and we play well doing it, and I think they did just that today. Even though Manuel's name is on both goals, I think they were a team effort, and I was very pleased with the improvement in our back four."

"Team effort" is an apt description of the first goal, which came after twenty-five minutes of back-and-forth where neither team could make a play. Team captain Sophie Buckley broke out wide around the twenty-three mark and managed a shot on target, which was deflected over the crossbar by Joey Johnson. On the ensuing corner, attacking mid Octavia Thomas pinpointed the ball for Reid, who made an athletic header to score in the low corner.

The Sword Bloke responded with a goal by Jamie Haigh off an assist by James Wendell in first-half injury time. Wendell beat young Strangers defender Myra Church deep, leaving an open path to goal for Haigh, who cut in and walked the ball into the net while Miles Hurst was deciding which flank to attend to.

With fellow Strangers reserve Andre Brennan replacing Church deep at halftime, the Bronze played a more conservative game, keeping the ball in the midfielder between the boots of the "terrible tandem", Eula Richard and Sophie Buckley. Eventually Richard was caught out of position three-quarters of the way into the game, as she strayed too far north to be able to pass up to Thomas, but an overeager tackle by Joel Ford gave her a chance to make up for it.

On the free kick, Richard made a convincing show of backing up to level the ball toward the net before rolling it to Brooke McKay, who split two defenders before they could react and played the ball out for Reid, who masterfully arced the ball just out of Joey Johnson's reach for the second goal.

THE SWOR BLOKE 1-2 VENTA DE LA MASILLA
Shop Owner here! You know I'm pissed after the Winter Olympics, so I've replaced the usual match RP with an interview with our captain for the tournament, Harvey Bell!

On the current team performance...
We need to lift our game, yes. We have only got 1 point so far, and 1 point won't get us into the tournament proper.

On the draw vs Starblaydia...
Jamie Haigh's double helped. Great game from us, just a bit of sloppy defending.

On the loss...
Horrible. Weak goalkeeping, no support, as a result we didn't get there.

On the transfer rumours...
What rumours? I dunno what the hell you're talking about, but I'm not leaving That Team.

On the future...
For me to keep away from the surgery room, I already missed the Venecan Shield, hope I go better with that. Also, to add to my caps for the full national team, win something with our national teams and more.

OOC: Even though the draw between Me & Starblaydia was played on Sunday AEST, I didn't see it earlier, so I'll just RP for it now.

Starblaydia 2-2 The Sword Bloke
Starblaydia Goals- The Sword Bloke Goals-
Joel Ford Own Goal '61. Jamie Haigh '40, '78
Ryan Selt Own Goal '88

It was an OK game for the Swordeans, who took the lead in the 40th Minute as Jamie Haigh headed in a nice volley from Captain Harvey Bell. The Swordeans then got an offside goal from Markus Dagan, before the next goal was scored in the 61st minute, after shocking defending saw Joel Ford deflecting the ball into the net, with Ford getting subbed off 3 minutes later. But the Swordeans went back ahead in the 78th minute, with Jamie Haigh scoring an awesome free kick from just outside the box, but Ryan Selt brand back the bad memories after heading in an own goal from a corner in the 88th minute. Ryan Selt was then booed off the field, with whether Selt and Ford will be executed or not up for question. Yep, I'm Shop Owner, bye.

Welcome to Starblaydia, where 23 teams made it, somehow, directly to the final stage of the Di Bradini Cup 33, also known as the U21 World Cup. The other 21 teams have to battle it out to see who will qualify, including Star United States, and the hosts Starblaydia.

Abanhfleft, Blouman Empire, Cosumar, Darmen, Equestrian States, Estenia, Felix, Filopines, Holy Republican Empire, Jeckland, Mizuyuki, Nassau-Hessen, Nephara, Polar Islandstates, San Jose Guayabal, Schottia, Semarland, Super-Llamaland, Taeshan, The Calanian Union, The Royal Kingdom of Quebec, United States Of Devonta, and Wolfbenz have said a hello to the finals of the Di Bradini Cup.

There are three qualifying, with seven teams each. Qualifying Group 1 is made of Pasarga, Allied Omaha, Yttribia, Furellum, Eura, Patistan; and Polaaskan. Qualifying Group 2 is composed of Venta de la Mesilla, Starblaydia, Farfadillis, Dainer, The Sword Bloke, Vermark; and Gloriax. Qualifying Group 3 includes the teams of The Royal Barangay; Chiata; D-Cup; Lymantatia; Star United States; Kernansquillec; and Nova Anglicana.

Pasarga 1-0 Patistan
Allied Omaha 1-1 Eura
Yttribia 2-1 Furellum

Qualifying Group 2
Venta de la Mesilla 2-0 Vermark
Starblaydia 2-2 The Sword Bloke
Farfadillis 1-0 Dainer

Qualifying Group 3
The Royal Barangay 1-1 Kernansquillec
Chiata 0-2 Star United States

Match Day Two
Qualifying Group 1

Vermark 2-1 Gloriax

Qualifying Group 3
Lymantatia 1-1 Chiata
Star United States 2-0 The Royal Barangay
Kernansquillec 1-0 Nova Anglicana

Star United States has played two matches in the tournament, so far. They currently sit at the top of the third group, undefeated.

On the first day, Star United States faced Chiata, where the final score was zero to two. The results were not in favor of Chiata. Terrance Moreno, the eighteen year-old Starian goalkeeper, did an amazing job, and did not let any ball find its way into net, unlike Chiata's goalkeeper, who currently is unnamed.

The two goals of the match came on minutes 3, and 87. Joshua Curtis, an eighteen year-old striker, and also the son the of the National Men's Senior Soccer Team coach, scored the first goal. He received a pass from Alex Grey, and without a doubt he struck the ball towards the net. The ball cut through the air, and slipped through the hands of goalkeeper. Score.

The second goal, which came around on the 87th minute, was scored by the one, and only, Jerome Page. Jerome Page , currently, plays for the Green Pines, and is only nineteen years of age. He managed to get around a defense from Chiata, and receive a prefect pass from Laurence Webb, the twenty year-old mid-fielder. Without much defense guarding him, he quickly made it into a short-range zone from the goal net. He kicked, and once again, another goal was scored for the Starians.

On the second day, Star United States faced The Royal Barangay. The Starians won two to zero over this team. The two goals made were due to the actions of John Anderson, and the other was a auto-goal. The first goal came around on the 36th minute, when Curtis kicked the ball toward the goal, and a defensive of the opposing team attempted to stop it. However, it hit his foot, and angled off right into the net. The second goal was scored by John Anderson, a nineteen year-old striker who plays for Rayley United.

The Starians got a corner kick. It was kicked in by Trevor Keller, and Anderson headbutted into the goal.

The Starians still have four more teams to face, and as to what it seems, the Starians will make it to the final round of this World Cup.

The National Sports Federation released the tables for the Di Branidi Cup, since for some unknown reason, they were not released before.

The Felixian Football Association Presents...

The U-21 Felixian National Football Team

After a early quarterfinal exit thanks to a blowout loss against Nephara the Young Phoenix are eager to return to the U-21 multiversal footballing stage to prove to the multiverse that heavy 7-4 loss isn't going to define them or the U-21 programme. Backed with new players, Quebecois U-21 NT manager Ho Weon Han must recreate the magic again that, last Di Bradini, got them to the their first quarterfinal berth since Di Bradini Cup 29. Adding on to that bit of pressure is the fact that the senior NT side for Felix finished second in WC 70 meaning that the nation will have high expectations for that Han's team. So will he do better than he did before and take the U-21 program to new heights? Or will history repeat itself with Felix finishing in the Round of 16 after coming off a top 8 finish last DBC?

GK (2)-
Pompei Mansur {Age: 20} [CAPTAIN] (CSKA Quebec Image)*

Pompei Mansur was CSKA Quebec's best and last line of defense last season because the leaky back line of CSKA was certainly making Pompei a busy goalkeeper throughout the season. His athletic and powerful saves helped give CSKA Quebec a chance against opponent. Because of that this former SC Volker and highly touted goalkeeping prospect has earned the starting job as goalkeeper of the national team and the role of team captain. Pending on his performance this DBC several Felixian clubs will be eager to bring him back to Felix. Clubs that are rumoured to be interested include Universidad de Santanter, Lyon, Napoli, Altomare, and Cato.

Lise Hanson {Age: 18} (Trojana Condommakers FC Image)

Lise like her older goalkeeping colleague, plays in the Quebecois football league. And despite the greater skill of the back line of her club compared to CSKA, 18 year old Lise was busy making saves that surprised many experts. Even legendary football commentator Steven Smith said her saves were comparable to a older goalkeepers and reminded him a lot of a younger Kiki Nuremburg. Is that a sign of good things to come for this young talent that once played for Vanersholmare club Royals FF? Certainly.

DEF (6)-
Jiménez {Age: 21} (Real Santa Maria Image)*

Ezequiel Rafael Rodríguez Jiménez or more commonly known by Felixians as Jiménez is a special talent from Real Santa Maria. Directly mentored by former international, Bernardino Florentino, this kid is starting to develop into a great defender and as soon as he turns 22 he will probably be called up into the qualifying squad for the senior national side. He's that good. He will probably replace Florentino when he retires due to his great form in recent Copa Félix tournaments the past two seasons and hopefully his great form in the DBC.

Nani {Age: 20} (Napoli Image)*

Nani is the only regular starter from a Premier League club and he easily gets the starting nod for Felix's U-21 NT. He is consistent and while he doesn't attract a lot of hype (look at Jiménez for a good example) he silently works hard on his craft and lead his club to a first place finish in the FFL (now Championship) and a 6th placed finish in the Premier League. Because of that many local Felixian clubs and foreign clubs are eager to see what becomes of this silent defender in this DBC. Like his louder teammates this DBC will be his audition for bigger things.

Alejo Hernandez {Age: 21} (SC Volker Image)**

Alejo Hernandez is another good talent from a big Felixian club, this time 56th UICA ranked SC Volker. He is fast and smart and like his Real Santa Maria rival, has played very well in Copa Félix. But it is sort of a surprise that he is starting considering he faced some stiff opposition from the Oxford City defender Ella Vance. Nonetheless, he has earned his starting role in tryouts and will have to prove that Han made the right choice with a great performance in the DBC.

Ella Vance {Age: 20} (Oxford City Image)

Despite the fact she is a substitute in mid table Championship side Oxford City, this girl has a wealth of talent and is currently being wasted at her current club due to a ongoing feud between her and her manager, former Altomare boss, Romeo Alfero. Her contract is almost up and upper management is desperate to resign here with a new contract but Ella has so far refused any offers leaving many Felixian clubs eager to sign this CB/LB of the future for a painless fee of $0 Felixian Dollars. She lost in a close race for the last job available in the back three but probably will be a for sure starter next DBC when Jiménez turns 22.

Meine Gelens {Age: 19} (Oxford City Image)

She's another talented player with good potential from Oxford City but like her teammate her talent has been wasted with a lack of starts due to Alfero favouring other players. But unlike her teammate Meine has declined in potential and actual skill. Still, if she gets a few starts this DBC she can surely turn around her early career and finally convince her coach back in Oxford to start her. Hopefully the fool of a manager is watching because his club could lose another future talent or worse, the footballing world could lose a talent in her.

Valentinian Bezofont {Age: 21} (Tribalista Image)

This guy is sort of a "what the heck" pick from Ho Weon Han. Admiring the way Kaji play football, which is usually characterized by heavy physical style, Mr. Han thought Bezofont could be a good last ditch player should things hit the fan. Bezofont is a very strong defender but is pretty slow and his passing skills leave much to be desired. But he is good at stealing the ball so there's a plus. He probably won't be called to the NT during qualifiers in WC 71 but if he is, it's going to be because he produced a game or two of magic on the pitch.

MED (9)-
Kody Auttenberg {Age: 20} (SC Volker Image)*

What can be said about Kody Auttenberg that hasn't been said before? He is a talented kid with the very rare gift of being a midfield general at the tender age of 20 with pace, ball control and his eye for passing to the right man being his strongest skills. He was recently named as the new starting midfielder for SC Volker as world beater and World Cup finalist Rudolf Venetianer bid adieu from his boyhood club to Nepharim club Chatswood. So with new responsibilities in both country and club Kody must follow in the footsteps of former Volker players, legend Ji Iseul Kwan and star Rudolf Venetianer.

Valériane Babineaux {Age: 21} (SC Volker B Image)*

Unlike most of the SC Volker players mentioned here, this talented midfielder, Valériane Babineaux, is not from the youth set up of the club. Instead, she has been plucked out from a smaller club, Premier League club, AS Cadillac for a respectable sum of money. And scouting directors in the club recommended that she play for Championship side, SC Volker B so she can learn to play football the "Volker Way" and after a couple of months of rigorous training she is now ready to play for the NT. Will her pace, strength, dribbling, and shooting improve? We will quickly find out.

Lars Stoppelbein {Age: 20} (Real Santa Maria Image)*

Lars Stoppelbein sort of came out of nowhere to be honest. He was part of the semi-pro Real Santa Maria B club but has mainly been under the radar even from U-15 scouting eyes back when he was 13. But with a historic first season in Real Santa Maria B combined with the exit of star player León Félix to Yttribian side Aturra SC; Lars has suddenly built a persona around him that he can easily replace León Félix. Giving him the starting job over other talented mids. His vision and heading ability will certainly be used a lot in CM position he will be placed in this DBC.

Ivo Araújo {Age: 21} (Project +90 Image)*

Ivo is like that one guy in high school that never graduated so almost everyone knows who he is. And it's not bad that everyone knows who he is! It's not! He is a talented lad that has always been blocked out of the limelight by other players and in his final year of eligibility is finally able to showcase his skills. Perhaps this kid can finally be bought by a serious club rather than the youth talent building focus club of Project +90 and he certainly can be bought if he can take advantage of this moment right here.

Bernhard Schnur {Age: 20} (SC Volker B Image)**

Bernhard Schnur is a player on the rise. With a "midfielder of the future" tag placed by his fans at Volker this Hannover native, certainly proved himself as starter with an impressive tryout that made him edge out dangerous Katharyn Warrick for the starting job. So with all that pace and crossing skill, will it be used well and to it's full potential in the LM position? Probably, he proven he can use those tools back in SC Volker B so surely he can prove it with a great performance here in the DBC.

Katharyn Warrick {Age: 19} (Oxford City Image)

Katharyn Warrick is a good player with talent for the future, unfortunately for her she was just slightly edged out in a tight race for that last spot by Bernhard Schnur but that doesn't mean she won't start some game or at least be subbed in. She has good dribbling skills has can pass the ball well both in the air and on the ground and will probably be a starter in her club soon as Romeo Alfero will probably demote a foreign player to give the local youth talent a chance to play some football.

Aron Johnsson {Age: 19} (Sieburg Image)

He's raw but he's on the team and the fact he is in the U-21 NT not only shows that Ho Weon Han is willing to take gambles in team selection but is also willing to put young talent in for experience. This kid is very fast but that's all he has going for him at the moment although his has been promising in his free kick ability, heading accuracy and passing skill. Expect him to either be a starter or a contender for one next DBC as Ho Weon Han slowly develops this talent from Sieburg.

Fernando Scotti {Age: 19} (Napoli Image)

Like his Sieburg counterpart, Fernando Scotti is a bit raw but has a lot of potential to become a star player in the future. He has a set of skills that would frighten lower league/skill opponents but he needs to develop the confidence to be able to show that with the big boys. Also like Aron, his manager, Ho Weon Han will work on developing his already good strength and shooting ability and work on his weaknesses like composure and pace.

Jasmine Saint Claire {Age: 17} (Seaddle Sounders Image)

Unlike the latest two player Jasmine Saint Claire isn't that far off from being a regular starter in any club. She was already a starter in Hampshire United and was the only memorable player from a club that has lost their ways recently with new coaches in and new coaches out in recent seasons. She has a unique skill set and she will become a starter soon, especially with news of her being transferred out to a foreign club even one like Seaddle Sounders which has been rumoured to be projected to be in the lower part of the United League in the Equestrian States.

FWD (5)-
Toma Popescu {Age: 18} (SC Volker Image)**

While most of the positions have favoured age + skill over just skill the forward position has been the opposite favouring skill despite of age and it shows with the two starters. Previous unknown player Toma Popescu has popped up at SC Volker B and was recently promoted to the A side with the exit of Fiacre Bellerose to foreign club Northern Union in Brenecia. He isn't fast but he has a great heading ability and can shoot pretty well. He is more of a target man and it will show with many crosses going his way for his head to shoot at.

Wolfgang Volk {Age: 19} (Sieburg Image)**

Volk is the opposite of Toma. For one, Wolfgang has been followed publicly ever since he won the U-15 WC when he was only 13 years old. Two, because he plays for rival Sieburg. And lastly, he is the goalscorer as shown by footage starting in his U-15 WC days to right now where he has been used to either send Sieburg back from a deficit or finish off an opponent that is close to drawing up the game. He will certainly benefit from the coaching and development skills of Ho Weon Han.

Carolina DeSanta {Age: 20} (Santa Maria F.C Image)

Carolina DeSanta has been a silent player in terms of hype generated by saying her name. She's a good player but there isn't that much going for her in terms of future NT prospects. Especially considering she and another 20 year old, Sharona Kingston, have been placed in the bench by two youngsters from the German speaking part of Felix. Nonetheless, the coaching from Ho Weon Han can surely increase her potential and her age can certainly help out the forwards if one of them break under pressure.

Sharona Kingston {Age: 20} (Oxford City Image)

Sharona is like Carolina, has a good set of skills but isn't exactly impressive and doesn't have that much potential. But again, it could all change with another year of Quebecois coaching from Mr. Han. She is mainly famous for penalty skills and will certainly be used as an extra time substitute to increase the chances of getting a goal for Felix in a hypothetical penalty shootout. Other than that though she is quite average in physical, mental and technical attributes.

Lindsey Reid {Age: 18} (Napoli Image)

Last but not least is Lindsey Reid who is from Napoli. She is a great striker in the making but doesn't posses the familiarity that Volk or Popescu has. But don't worry, she will develop a reputation of her own because unlike the other two females in this striker crop, she actually possess some talent that can be built on. Meaning that she will be competing for spots next DBC and might be a starter if she can edge out either Wolfgang or Toma. It is rumoured rival club Altomare might acquire her services next Premier League season.

Manager-
Ho Weon Han {Age: 52} Image

A longterm assistant coach to legendary Ji Choon Kim (who has been coaching the Quebecois NT for last 38 years) since WC64, Han's well known for his longevity in what's been a ever-so-changing world of Québécois football. He's a very offensively-minded coach, being well known for developing forwards(especially strikers) such as Pascal Boyle and Xavier Hertel, the former in Legalese and latter Yttribia. He, when it comes to defence, prefers utilising the physicality and encourages hus players to clear possession, even if it results in lots of yellow cards and of course injuries for opponents. Kim is willing to work, as soon as possible, but will most likely hold team practices and camps out of Felix, in the hosting nation for the very U-21 tournament. In his first DBC he has lead the U-21 NT to a quarterfinal finish.

AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
The Junior Swordeans are now 2nd in Group B of qualifying following an inspired 3-1 victory over Dainer. The Swordeans scored their first goal of the game in the 34th minute as Jells Kondrii scored arguably the current goal of the tournament, powering in a whopping volley from a Markus Dagan pass. Jamie Haigh then scored his 4th goal of the tournament in the 60th minute, and The Swordeans dramatically scoring an offside goal 3 minutes later. Captain Harvey Bell making it 3-0 in the 75th minute. In injury time, Dainer scored an equaliser through another own goal from Joel Ford. The Swordeans now in the right range to qualify to the proper group stage, and Haigh about to look at some big $$$ offers due to his awesome form.

Postby Furellum » Thu Jan 22, 2015 6:29 am

Adam Vukoja drew his cloak tighter around him, trying to keep out the biting wind that was racing down the mountains. He went through in his mind again how he'd ended up here, in the inhospitable southwest mountains of Furellum searching for a fairy tale.

It had always been Adam's dream to be a wizard. Even his select in the top youth football teams of Furellum had not been enough to deter him from his chosen path. When he'd been accepted into Guldisall University, the only reputable wizarding school in the country, he thought his dreams had come true. Not even lifting the Di Bradini Cup had measured up to it. But the world turns, and with it brings change. When the Corvidae had come, Adam found himself an outsider in his own home, a human despised by the canine elite. They'd kept him frm his football, and worse, had closed the university, branding the chancellor a traitor and driving him into hiding. Adam had thought the chancellor, Petran, was dead, but several months ago he'd received word that Petran was alive, and continuing to teach magic. Adam had made his way to Lanchsazorld, and admitted into the new school by Petran himself.

The school itself had been great. As Petran was a member of the Collegium Arcanus, the ruling council before the Corvidae came, he was a wanted man. So everything was arranged in secret, and the only students were those Petran and his cohort trusted. Still, Adam and the other students were kept busy. They learnt spells of modification with Alisa, pulling ether from the air and shaping it to their will. Vaxot had been elevated from student to teacher, and he taught the arts of the battlemage, how to destroy and heal. Petran himself taught the students the spells of divination and mysticism: with those arts he could read the future, or draw ether from the sky into wells of power. Adam learnt how to draw smaller objects to him, although he had not yet mastered the spells required to send people vast distances instantly. He was regretting that now as he froze in these mountains.

Of course, Petran could have sent him, but he didn't. Too dangerous, he'd said, and of course he was right. A spell of that magnitude would register on the large spectrum thermometers the Corvidae battlemages had covering the area around here. The wards around the Mage's college protected the student's lessons from being detected, but a powerful spell would give away their position instantly. Lanchsazorld was isolated, but the nearest city was Ingridberg. Ingridberg had been the last stronghold of the Collegium Arcanus against the Corvidae forces, and as such was still under intense security and scrutiny from the fascist regime.

Instead, Adam was walking. With him were two others, a female beaver named Viktoria, and a young male lion called Bjorn. Three students, sent on a seemingly impossible quest. A quest to find what had eluded the greatest mages and scientists in Furellum for millennia. To locate the ether spring, the mythical source of magic in Furellum.

A New Beginning, Part One

Postby Star United States » Thu Jan 22, 2015 1:23 pm

A New Beginning
Part One

"I love the islands," she though, "I enjoy living here. I love the salty smell of the shimmering blue ocean. The noise of the waves, the view of the sailing ships, and the chatter from the beaches. God... why? I'll miss this place so much."

Plop. Plop. She sank into her seat, and sat in the car against her will. It was a rainy day, one of those days where the perfect place to be is sitting out on the porch, and just watch the rain.

Plop. Plop. Plop. The rain drops kept on beating into the inside part of the car door. The water was slowly finding it's way into the family car.

A little annoyed, the mother said, "Honey, please close the window."
"Okay, mom," she responded.

The rest of the ride remain silent, as usual. The eldest son of the family had been sent to war, the civil war, that is. Ever since then, things have been different. It's been more quieter. However, this was about to change. The were to headed to the airport.

"I don't want to move," she thought, "life's perfect here. Ugh."

Her oldest brother had bought a house, a large one, on the mainland of the country, and he wanted everyone to go live in it. They sat down as a family to discuss about it. Everyone was in favor, expect for her. She did not want to move. The middle child of the family, who is a male, agreed wholeheartedly. She did not agree, but her thoughts were dismissed in the discussion. She was forced to agree with everyone else. She did not want to leave the land where she was born. She was unhappy with it, and everyone knew it.

She sighed, and took a deep breath. "Here we go," she mumbled. She took a glance to the back seat, just to see her brother sleeping.
"He sleeps too much for his own good," she said almost inaudible. She took the sleeve of her sweater, and in a circling motion, cleaned the window. She stared out the window. It was raining harder than before. Her last day on the islands, and it rains.

She closed her eye for just a minute but, time flew. When she opened them, she could see the airport quickly growing in size in front of her. They pulled into the parking lot. By now, her brother was awake, wide awake. The car turned off.

"Are you all ready?" the mother questioned, as she unbuckled her seat belt.

QUALIFYINGMATCHDAYONE

Allied Omaha draws from Eura!

Allied Omaha 1 - 1 Eura

By Raffan Kareem

A new rising hope is now shining above Allied Omaha, as they draw from Eura 1-1. AS Allied Omaha is now participating in there very first international

competitive competition at U-21 level. The young sporting nation is now slowly rising in it's sporting ways with it's sports team. The line up was
GK-Muaaz Noman
LB-Muhammad Aiesh
CB-Ham'xa Xalem
RB-Yousaf
LM-Tanvir Ali
CM-Osa'ma Xe'en
CM-Faisal Ha'n
RM-Sa'ad Alee
LS-Far Han
ST-Junaid Khan
RS-Awax Zeroz

Tanvir Ali was subbed with Neymar Damiz, as a tactical change. The young player impressed along with fellow team-mate Sa'ad Alee. Both have been marked as must watch

players for the future which is always near. Late in the match Neymar, made a bustling run through the defense and faked a pass, and later shoved it up to Sa'ad Alee,

who shot for goal, but missed as the ball hit the crossbar, but rolled over to Awax Zeroz who took it on his chest and shot a beautiful from just outside the box. Awax

scored his fist international goal as a 17-year old. A beginning of a hopeful bright career. During the pre-match press conference:-

QUALIFYINGMATCHDAYTWO

Furellum 1 - 2 Allied Omaha

First win for Black Dragons!

By Raffan Kareem

On matchday 2, Allied Omaha snatched a great win over Furellum with two great goals from young 17 year old Awax Zeroz. Currently Awax has 3 goals in the Di Bradini Cup, surprisingly as he is making his first few appearances on the international scale. A goal from Sorin Dubreski came late in the match at the 89th minute. Allied Omahan fans are very excited to see the team performing extremeley well, as this is there first U-21 performance. The next match comming up is against Polaaskan, who will be in fine spirit, winning a match against Patistan. Sa'ad Alee assissted both the goals form the right flank, once again impressing the crowd with his incredible skills. Neymar Damiz started the match replacing Tanvir Ali. Neymar also put up a great defensive performance, opposite from the last match, as he was attacking ruthlessly against Eura. Whatever the future has in store for the Black Dragons, they are READY for it!

QUALIFYINGMATCHDAYTHREE

Awax Zeroz make the headlines AGAIN!

By Raffan Kareem

Hooray for the Dragons as the snatch another win in the Di Bradini Cup, and one wonder-kid really has to be thanked for his eye-cathcing performances, Awax Zeroz! The kid snatched two goals again as he did in the last match! He has been shortlisted by several managers in the Super League, and international managers. A boy for the future as the manager spoke in the press conference; "Awax is a very gifted player. In less than 6 years he is going to be a player to watch and still is. He has imense talent, and an attitude that makes him the best there is. A boy for the future, just wait and see."

QUALIFICATION IN THE BALANCE FOR THE U21s

Three matches down, three to go: at the half-way point the young Kernansquillecans are in a bit of a tight spot. After an opening day draw against The Royal Barangay things were looking up after a 1-0 win over Nova Anglicana thanks to a Corren header in the 52nd minute. But despite Rosendo Wirnhier picking up her second goal of the campaign against D-Cup the Kers' fell to their first defeat against this little known side in what can be called a disappointing performance. Facing relativity unknown footballing nations in the group so far it has been somewhat disappointing. But Dufour has started to put his mark on this side and with a number of new players in the ranks they will need time to bond.

Tough games against Chiata, group leaders Star United States and Lymantatia are yet to come. With the top three making the group stage proper the Green and Whites still have their fate firmly within their hands. But they can't afford many more slip ups. Wins are now needed, especially since Star United States are running clear at the top of the group.

STRANGER DANGER PRESENTS:
Natus ex Aere
The Unofficial Fan Blog of Mesillano International Sports
Where They're Going: A Study of Our Players' Clubs
By Carlos del Negro, one week ago

It's an early bye for the Baby Bronze, yet they remain solidly in first place in their qualifying group as they seek to advance to the finals of the thirty-third Di Bradini Cup in Starblaydia. Two wins in two matches bodes well for the young Mesillanos, many of whom have signed contracts overseas and will be watched carefully by their managers during the contest, looking for signs of weakness or potential.

Of eighteen players on the roster, eight are signed to foreign clubs, eight are Strangers, and two are signed to amateur teams in La Mesilla. Baby Bronze players represent eleven clubs in six countries and four regions, including each of the "Big Three". Below I have outlined each of the Baby Bronze signed to foreign teams, their clubs, and the role I see them playing. Some will no doubt make an impact right away, while others toil in reserve teams and await their shot at the big time, but all of them will spread the name of Mesillano soccer far and wide.

Jessie Horne, FC Chippenham (The Sarian)
It's no surprise Jessie Horne has fast become a darling of Bronze fans with her mop of curly black hair, big smile, and dogged play on the pitch. When the DBC is over she will join FC Chippenham, five-time Super League champions and one of The Sarian's most successful and popular teams. At sixteen, Horne is the youngest player for the Baby Bronze next to backup keeper Rashad Dixon, and Chippenham will likely seek to integrate her with one of their senior academy teams or else the reserves in order to mold her into whatever kind of defender they need. Though currently billed as a fullback, she likely has enough time to learn centerback or defensive mid before she is called up to the senior side.

In the unlikely event that she sees playing time early, Horne will be seen alongside fellow Di Bradini Cup alumni Wulfric Danielson, Gabriels Hadaway, Yeriyahu Masters, and Alfred Yates, as well as Michael Stone, who joins Yates and Masters for The Sarian national team in the current Campionato Esportiva. Should Chippenham give her a squad number, they would do well to utilize her as a late-game substitute, using her superior pace and technique to keep a close game from going the other way.

Brooke Nolan, West Gundar FC (Cosumar)
Pima College West alumna Brooke Nolan has been a rock in an inconsistent defense for the Baby Bronze, and she may just have a shot at West Gundar FC, one of the Cosumar Harlighet Ligan's newest clubs. West Gundar finished second in the Sekundar Ligan last season in their first season following relegation, which was good enough to qualify for promotion as well as a berth in the UICA Series B Champions' Cup. She will join veteran Apoxian goalkeeper Tim Smith and the young midfielder Mark Hallen of Semarland.

Nolan receiving significant playing time at West Gundar should not be discounted as a possilbity; she is a strong defender, and the Cosumar team should be looking for a change now that they're back in the Harlighet Ligan. She is at her best as a right-back, and the team would be remiss to deploy her anywhere else, except maybe to invert her depending on the play. She is a conservative tackler with a good long ball, and carries herself well in set-piece situations.

Virgil Wilkins, Race Point (The Sarian)
Wilkins joins his teammate Octavia Thomas as one of two Mesillanos going to Race Point following the conclusion of the Di Bradini Cup. A pacy player, he played his club football at Las Cruces FC against competition that was slack even by Mesillano standards, and an injury in his senior year prevented him from reaching his full potential playing for the University, so what he can do remains to be seen. His new teammates are a motley assortment from all over Esportiva, including legendary Buyanese defender Kazimieras Zemaitis, young Guayabalian Sosa, and Sarian internationals Gunne Gulbrandsen, Dermot Lancaster, Harley MacNevin, and Eguzki Melendez, who nonetheless remain a mid-table team and a bridesmaid of UICA berths.

Wilkins will be best deployed as a center-back, where he can relieve or fill in for injuries as necessary while learning the ropes from the likes of Melendez and training in the superior facilities. A stint on a reserve team might give him time to develop into something truly special, since he's never seen real competition until he hit the the field for the Baby Bronze. At the University, it was rumored that he was a problem child in the locker room, though his time in the barracks under Sergeant First Class Trujillo may have helped some.

Brooke McKay, Taeshan City Miners (Taeshan)
The high school player of the year at number ten for Artesia High School, McKay has moved to the back of the diamond for the Baby Bronze, where she remains a quiet presence. She joins another quiet presence in Taeshan with the Miners, a team that has steered well clear of relegation from the TPL but has not produced nor acquired a talent to crack the top ten, let alone threaten for UICA. The only players of any real note for the Miners is Taeshan international Asher Victorious, who made his senior debut for the Purple Knights in the twentieth Copa Rushmori having played for the U21 in the thirty-first Di Bradini Cup; and former all-star Fred York.

McKay will likely stay at her current position and understudy whomever the Miners currently have, or else provide cover where needed.

Christopher Moore, Centralis Storm (Electrum)
Moore will leave La Mesilla following the Di Bradini Cup to join a new team in a new league in a nation that, like La Mesilla, is just starting to embrace the idea of professional soccer. The E-league will be the home of the Centralis Storm, and Moore will be a part of the first season of professional soccer to happen in Electrum. Electrum soccer has historically been an amateur pursuit, but with reforms to the national team and the formation of a professional league, big changes appear imminent.

Moore will likely seek to remain on the right, but his athleticism my see him moved up to forward or number ten. Playing for a new team, it's hard to tell where he will fit in the pecking order, but he has the raw talent to make a difference for the Storm both now and in the future.

Octavia Thomas, Race Point (The Sarian)
As the starting attacking mid for the Baby Bronze, Octavia Thomas has made perhaps the biggest impact for the Bronze in this tournament to date, providing ball service to Manuel Reid and Ishmael Andrews and scoring in her own right. She does not lack for confidence, either, often engaging in pre-match rituals with her teammates, chest-bumping them as she takes the field and pulling her jersey over her face when she scores. She will join Virgil Wilkins at Race Point in the Sarian, a midtable club with potential to leapfrog into UICA position.

Thomas has made it clear with her play that she is happiest as an attacking mid, although a false nine or second striker role might suit her as well. She has the pace and tenacity to be a starter, but will likely be benched until she can learn the system and gain some needed experience.

Ishmael Andrews, Marlborough City (The Sarian)
Despite playing in the shadow of Manuel Reid for the Bronze, Andrews has acquitted himself nicely with several shots on target and an assist in the match against Vermark. He remains one of the rawest talents on the Bronze, however, but his track-like pace and freakish athleticism still make him a good pickup for the recently-rebranded Marlborough team. Marlborough City, formerly Marlborough Town, is one of a few clubs to break the monopoly of FC Chippenham on the Super League title. Andrews will join a crowded attacking section that includes Johnathon Sanders of Star United States, Jarl Sinasson of Polaaskan, and young Sarian international Simon Shaw.

Andrews is one of several strikers competing for minutes for Marlborough next season, and he's not even the youngest; that honor goes to Simon Shaw, who's already. Still, he's in the process of proving himself as a number nine for the Bronze, a position that may suit him well playing in The Sarian rather than looking to take over as the team's next eleven. Should the Baby Bronze qualify into the final tournament in Starblaydia, Andrews could have the unique experience of scoring on one of his future teammates, as Semarland keeper Marco Valbuena plays for Marlborough City, where he is behind his countryman Andreas Mikkelsen.

Manuel Reid, Vermillion Rage (Nephara)
The player from the Baby Bronze who seems most excited about his overseas contract, and rightfully so, is star striker Manuel Reid, signed with Vermillion Rage of Nephara. The Rage are an attack-oriented team struggling to keep up with the likes of AFC Treason due to a limited budget. As such, they may have landed the best kind of deal signing Reid for the league-minimum salary. With a proven knack for goals and creating opportunities, Manuel Reid is one of the only Baby Bronze players with the potential to make a real statement early in his career abroad.

In Nephara, Reid will fit in among a rotation of strikers that includes Buyanese international Elmo Havelund. With Havelund gaining in years and three strikers on the field at any given time, Reid should see solid minutes as relief, if not start for the attacking-oriented side which found itself running out of weapons in the mid-to-late season push to avoid relegation. He should, however, be worked in slowly so as not to shock his system with the novelty of a three-striker set, compared to the nigh-ubiquitous 4-4-2 diamond in Mesillano.

THE SWORD BLOKE 3-1 FARFADILLIS
The Sword Bloke are now just 2 points off top in Qualifying Group B, scoring a 3-1 victory over Farfadillis. The first goal scored of the game was by Jamie Haigh again, in the 30th minute, before Farfadillis scored from a Markus Dagan Own Goal in the 39th minute. Haigh then scoring his 5th of the tournament in the 58th Minute, and captain Harvey Bell scoring his second of the tournament in the 71st minute. The result comes as another excitement for the Swordeans, who are preparing for the 71st World Cup, and also the Baptism of Fire.
