We were waiting for the updated ranks to go live in order to set a schedule in stone, just to make sure that everyone had enough warning before the first cutoff. Now that we have those ranks (thanks once again to the rank keeper for their diligent work), we are able to post the group draw, which we have done in the OP of the roleplay thread. Alongside that is a schedule - you have until 00:01 UTC on 27th March to get your pre-MD1 roleplays in.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I only see the post-World Cup 95 ranks, not the pre-World Cup 96 ranks.

Also, finding the individual World Cup segment for which you seek ranks is a major PITA in the Excel document when I use my phone.

The NSWC Signups signature info says post-95, but the rankings themselves show that the last completed BoF is 83, so the ranks appear to be up-to-date (also, the sheet itself is named "Pre WC96Q", which helps). On the viewing ability of the sheet on a phone (which was something I suspect it wasn't designed explicitly for), YMMV, but viewing it via the Google Sheets app seems to work fine.

This is a reminder that you have approximately 24 hours to get your roleplays in before the cutoff for Matchdays 1 and 2 of World Cup 96. Also, please remember that we will be implementing a roster penalty of 50% of rank to teams that do not roster before the cutoff (which will be removed going forward once a roster is posted). Get those rosters in, as well as your roleplays! We look forward to reading them.

Clarification in regards to edit in post of scores for MD 3-4 for groups 1-10.

During the copy and pasting process I omitted the Matchday 4 results for groups 8 and 9, although their correct tables for said matchday were posted correctly. I apologise for the inconvenience, and the scores now feature said results.

Thankfully we already have two Cup of Harmony bids. Should you want in on the fun, you've got a limited time left to do so.

I will message users in case of a presidential nomination, asking them if they want to stand for election, so we can have both the Presidential vote and the CoH vote at the same time. The 72 hour period (mandated by the Constitution to allow users to decline nominations) will not be needed in full that way.

Slightly relevant. In line with the current event, we as NSS community are coming together to cooperate to build a NSWC Hall of Fame. We're trying to coordinate and get as many of us to contribute to this project and see how far we can get it

Have just spent 45 minutes typing up an RP only for something weird to happen to the forum and losing it.

Unfortunately I now need to leave for an archaeology conference in Swansea (the thrill!), and lack the time to type up a replacement.

I'm frustrated by the turn of events, but mainly want to apologise for my inability to post an RP this matchday.

Similar problems, alas, although in my case I know what went wrong: I was typing my post-to-be actually in the forum, rather than offsite in Word as is my more usual practice, so that I could post the finished work [slightly] more rapidly as the deadline loomed, but this meant that when my attempt a correcting a typo accidentally deleted the whole thing when it was almost complete there was no 'back' button available for retrieving the lost material...

And there just isn't enough time left before the deadline, now, for me to re-create enough of that material to be (in my opinion) worthwhile.


I'll try to get it all re-typed, from memory, for inclusion as part of my next post instead.

Errata note: In Group 2 I stated, incorrectly, that Valanora has clinched play-offs already. In reality, Valanora has a 10 point difference and their closest rival (Valentine Z) has 3 matches left (9 points). Henceforth, Valanora has already qualified for the World Cup Finals.
