100% agree with this, we don't want any new (or other) nations getting burnt out simply because they made a long run in the BoF and have a two day break. I see now problems with waiting a week and a half especially when it's right around the same pace as other waits which I think got it right.

As for the suggested permissions box I don't really have an opinion

Yeah, I think we should give a week off after the BoF final before MD 1 for World Cup qualifying.

Not to distract from the discussion, but the DBC is at 43 signups. I would like to get to 48 so that we have new entrants instead of telling 3 people too bad. It will be a first come first serve however, as the signup process has already taken a week longer than planned.

Amigos! In my usual double checking of entries from the scoresheet to the xkor, I have realized I have made an error in regards to Aix Les Filles.

For whatever reason, I recorded his style mod(lack thereof I Guess) to the grading sheet, but never actually posted the RP bonus grade for his roster. Everybody else's stuff is there, of course, but I guess I didn't grade his roster and did not realize.

Ergo, it throws off his scores.

After looking at his scores and discussing with the co-hosts, I am going to implement the following remedy.

1. Leave his MD1 score as is. That was a 2-1 win they earned, so may as well leave that as is.

2. Re-score his MD2. The original score for that was a 0-0 draw. The new score is "Aix Les Filles 2–0 Ostankin." I will edit that into the MD2 results. And I, of course, will TG both Aix Les FIlles and Ostankin about these developments.

My sincerest apologies to the BoF participants for this, especially those in Group F, and particularly ALF and Ostankin both for the inconvenience. This is entirely and 100% my own error, so any questions/comments/vitriol/etc.... Should be directed my way, and my way alone.

Just as an FYI if anyone taking part in the Under 21 World Cup is interested, I decided to have my manager resign at the last minute ICly.

OOCly, I'd intended to re-work my roster significantly to age some players out since I have several who are already at/near age limits. However, an unfortunate click off the page I was working on wiped out the changes I'd made.

Thus, the roster is in a state of flux as I work on changes to it. If it's too late to change my style mod, I'll be playing with an angle of a manager who's trying to use a system he's not comfortable with as a storyline.

Hey amigos! So announcement from me regarding the Baptism of Fire.

My personal computer screen is having some serious issues, to the point where my PC is unusable.

I'm going to take my laptop into the computer repair shop. I have an additional work laptop (which I'm generally allowed to use for personal stuff), so I'll use that for the time being. So my ability to RP and stuff should not suffer.

However, we are not allowed to download items onto the work laptop for obvious reasons, which would include xkor. If/when I get my computer back, I'll update everybody, but for now, expect Bollonich to score all the Round of 16 matches at the Baptism of Fire, which will still happen at their scheduled time tomorrow.

Obviously, Bollonich has scorinated all the quarterfinals as well. He will scorinate both semifinals matches, I should have my machine back in time to scorinate the 3PPO on Wednesday. A big thanks to him for picking up the slack when my machine wouldn't let me do my part of scorination.

Bollonich has been pretty solid as a host from what I've seen, having taken part in the Handball World Cup he co-hosted with EQS.

Two days late, but congratulations to our BoF winner!

And, of course, a big thank you to Bollonich for stepping up and taking on the KO stages by himself as a host when I could not, and our participants for simply adjusting as that came.

Looking forward to WC89 :)

And I can only echo a big thank you and congratulations to a BoF that went off without a hitch even when Bollonich had to step in to pick up the slack, so far any hosting that he has been involved in has been very smooth sailing!

I would firstly like to congratulate Pyazhnaya/Tikariot on their fantastic BoF win.

Seconds, I just want to thank everyone else for the kind words, none of this would've been possible without Banija and EQS who guided me through this BoF and the previous HWC. So big shout out to them and anyone else who might've contributed in the slightest.

Looking forward to another great cycle!

Hello. Not an easy post coming from me, so I'll just start with the main point: I'm stepping back from my support role to SNL, Tik, and Zwangzug with regards to World Cup 89. This was entirely my decision, and frankly, it reflects the confidence I have in SNL and Tik as hosts (and Zwang as a support structure/additional scorer) that makes this an easier decision.

As for the why, I'll try not to bother you all with the details, other than to just say that where I'm at with RL and where I was when I agreed to this are two places far enough apart that I feel that the World Cup's in better hands without my involvement, rather than with it. I think I just need some time away, and to re-evaluate at that point.

That said, given the numbers situation, I will not be withdrawing from qualifying, and do intend to post a roster. If I do jump back in again, at least I'll have that going for me, though I do not plan on RPing at this point.

Thank you to SNL, Tik, and Zwangzug for their understanding and support. World Cup 89 will be in good hands.

Host announcement: World Cup 89 qualifying will be evenly distributed among South Newlandia, Tikariot, and myself. Groups 1-12 will be scorinated by South Newlandia in the first half and Tikariot in the second; Groups 13-18 will be scorinated by me in both halves. This way, none of us will need to scorinate groups containing our nations. The playoffs are subject to confirmation, but will probably be SNL in the first leg and Tikariot in the second leg, as originally planned.

While the WC89 finals will not be affected, this does mean that Legal and I will not be finalizing a bid for CoH 82 as originally planned. Given the activity levels and potential size of CoHs right now, I think a single-host CoH is suboptimal, and would prefer to bid with a partner if I bid at all. I don't feel the "need" to ICly or OOCly be a CoH host as a consequence of assisting the WC hosts with their bid, and would be happy to step aside if another capable bid presented itself. However, having access to the RP bonuses used during qualifying means that determining potential invitations would be somewhat easier for me than an outside bid; so if someone is interested in bidding with me, feel free to contact me as well. (Of course, this requires that you can accept the qualifier hosts' judgment about RP bonuses, even without having been part of that team.)

As previously stated in the cutoff for today, it has come to our attention that one nation, Blouman Empire, has been plagiarising at least parts of recent RPs. This became most apparent when their most recent RP (the RP has been edited six hours later to change the player, but had included Jarrod Bowen, and still includes references to West Ham) included a RLstates player never mentioned on either roster, but who had previously been in the exact same circumstance in this RLstates article. This is not an isolated incident – this has been occurring multiple times in multiple tournaments. Our executive decision, as hosts of World Cup 89, is that Blouman Empire will be stripped of all RP Bonus gained so far in this tournament, and will lose their rank as well, effectively resetting their scorinating rank to 0. Blouman Empire is welcome to gain RP Bonus later in the tournament with actual RPs that are not plagiarised.

-Posted in the RP thread along with my cutoff, but my groups' next cutoff (Thursday night/Friday morning) will be towards the end of my scheduled window, maybe late by an hour or two.

-Also, if you've edited or added significantly to your RP since initially posting it, a reminder to please contact me/SNL(/Tikariot) to alert us of the changes! I read RPs on and off rather than all at the deadline so there's a chance I may overlook your edits depending on when I'm active.

Nine thousand. Saint Eleanor is indeed partaking in WC89 but more disappointingly than planned.

The plagiarism in Blouman Empire's recent RP is disappointing - to the extent where a sentence fragment asserting that "The Jollipville Athletic forward doubled West Ham's lead after the break" was never amended (as I told SNL earlier).

Disappointing and infuriating. Plagiarism is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine.

I like the penalty handed out. It's very much in line with a penalty for a similar offence I handed down for someone cribbing a poem written by an NFL player.

For transparency: I discovered I'd made a small error inputting scores for the second cutoff (Matchdays 2 and 3, not the most recent one); Baggieland's most recent bonus had not been updated correctly. Having discussed with the cohosts, results will stand as originally posted (some of which were fortunate and fell Baggieland's way), as any attempt at re-simming would likely cause even more disruption.
