Ok, I was thinking of possibly roleplaying an interview between him and my FA boss. Perhaps in the CoH thread?

Sure.

Again, apologies. I don't like to coast on rank, but sometimes RL has to take priority, even for us old farts.

Sending good wishes in relation to your RL issues. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that you are one of the group of nations that need not apologize for infrequent RP. You were our very first opponent in WC80, and Bunnies then didn't kill any of our players. :)

Following the success of a fantasy game, we are going to have a Predictor Game for the Cup of Harmony and the World Cup!

Follow the respective links and the instructions for any details:

World Cup 86 -> bit.ly/WC86Predictor
Cup of Harmony 78 -> bit.ly/CoH78Predictor

Good luck, and all the best to the participants (in the game, and in the respective competitions)! Do complete all your entries (which means every score) before the respective Matchday 1.

Edit: Updated WC86. Now back to N-day.

This is an absolutely amazing job. However, the spreadsheet (Cup of Harmony) is not correctly applying the tiebreakers of the bid, which is head to head results over overall goal differential.

You hear that sound? That's the sound warning you there is now only 7 hours left until the cutoff window for Sylestone's side of the Cup of Harmony opens. Yes, that means the Cup of Harmony (Basically The World Cup But Better) is nearly upon us. The dream of two small nations is about to become a reality. Come join in it.

Just a few reminders. Cutoffs are 0600-0800 UTC for Groups A-D, and cutoffs are 0700-1000 UTC for Groups E-H. A roster penalty will be applicable from the second cutoff if you have not posted a roster; this will affect your KPB bonus, and will continue to increase as the tournament progresses. Finally, public RP bonus is available. All you have to do is telegram or message the host of your side of the tournament, and ask either for RP bonuses in general or for a specific RP. We'll send that information to you and you only; only Sylestone, me, and the RPing nation will have access to that information. This tournament is also running in the same way as the WCQs did; that is, there will be two matches per cutoff during the group stages, and cutoffs are every other day.

We wish you all luck in this Cup of Harmony, and we'll be avidly reading your RPs and watching you compete. It looks like it's going to be a great Cup of Harmony; we now only wait on a few more rosters. Thank you all for participating, and good luck (unless you're up against me, in which case would you mind just taking one for the team this time?).

Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.

Oops, missed this message here. Tried to fix the errors with regards to automatic H2H calculation, but I can't seem to find a solution. Right now, I am usinf a manual method to help everyone manually change the H2H, but I try to see if I can get it solved in 6 hours time. Anyways, you can continue to key in the results for the WC/CoH group stage. I am delaying the cutoff for both the WC and CoH to Newmanistan's MD1 WC Cutoff. This means that everyone can freely get free points for CoH MD1 and 2 (yes please take them if you like). I can just lock out the Group Stage part if I cannot find an automated fix by 1600 UTC so that no one is disadvantaged. Or just follow the steps for the manual methods as suggested in the WC sheet.

With Sir. Lionel Mah retiring at the end of his 4 year contract, at the age of 72, in a couple of OOC hours and few IC days....the Royal Quebecois Football Associatio (RQFA) will be looking for the fifth Grim Reapers' manager in its history, as they look forward to continue its rise in form over the next decade.

For those with a managerial candidate, feel free to write me a detailed profile anytime over next two weeks. As the RQFA's expectation will be at least one qualification within 2 cycle, there will be extra time taken before any decision's being made. Please TG Independent Athletes from Quebec.

Cup of Harmony Announcement:
As many of you may have realised, there is a four-day gap between the Round of 32 and Round of 16 cutoffs. It just so happens that I am going away and won't be online until about 12-24 hours before the Round of 16 cutoff. In the meantime, all queries should go to Ethane, and good luck to all of you still alive in this competition (apart from those who play me.) Apologies for the inconvenience.

With my WC cycle over, thank you to the hosts of both WC and CoH for an enjoyable time, and good luck to all those remaining. Newmanistan and Drawkland, I questioned the 2MD/48hr aspect during the bidding; I'm now happy to say I was wrong and I very much enjoyed that aspect of it. I hope future bids adopt a similar schedule as it really made it easier to consistently RP.

Newmanistan and Drawkland, I questioned the 2MD/48hr aspect during the bidding; I'm now happy to say I was wrong and I very much enjoyed that aspect of it. I hope future bids adopt a similar schedule as it really made it easier to consistently RP.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. I did not like the change as an idea at first, but it grew in me. Suddenly I had more time to think about RPs, track back information without a considerable amount of time pressure.

I am sure we will see more of this in the future and a massive thanks to the hosts for yet another awesome World Cup. (Even though it ended too early for Kandorith *cough*)

My World Cup cycle is now over, but I have to strenuously disagree with Graintfjall about the two matchdays thing.

I DESPISE it. I hated the trial run in World Cup 85 and I hate it even more now.

I'm one of a few players who uses one RL day = 1 NS day, so that dictates how I RP.

If I see any future bids that includes the two matchdays thing, I will vote against them. And yes, if this is the "future," I will strongly reconsider whether or not I want to be a part of that future.

I'm re-considering whether I'm going to participate.

This is the third time in five months that you've used your participation as leverage in a discussion. While it's your right to have a strong opinion and to express it, and I'm sure you're being genuine, it has the effect of immediately souring discussion, and I'd like you to consider that the next time you enter a discussion.

After a cycle of 2MDs every two days, my opinion is that... it's fine? I found the experience of talking about two games instead of one actually less satisfying, which was unexpected. If it were possible to have smaller groups and do 1 scorination every two days, I think I'd prefer that, but I can't see small groups being feasible any time soon.

Either way, 2MDs every two days is an option going forward.
