Do I remember correctly that, although RL may set an upper limit on the number of players in squads sent to the actual WC that might apply here as well, we are allowed to draw on larger pools of players — trying out various rival candidates for our final squad — during the qualifying stage?

If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

I have done this over the past three cycles, naming about 40 or so players who may be called up during qualifying, then naming a final squad of 23 for the World Cup proper Cup of Harmony.

I've always gone by the assumption that you can have as many players as you want on a roster but can't have more than 3 substitutions in a match which limits how many players you can actually use.

I have, since WC 80, had a large pool of players who split off into two different squads. Once I get to the Final, I nominally have a roster of 23, but if someone had a roster of 60, I don't think ICly I would object.

You are the Baptism of Fire Champions! Like Hap says (and knows), it's the only one you get one shot at. I finished 2nd, but note below I have pride in that. It's like your "class" in HS.

The groups are now edited into the first post of the RP thread!
The competition begins on Friday the 13th! (This fact plus the fact that discord crashed on us just as we were trying to start has given the Cup the nickname already of the "Cursed Cup".)

We could have started this a couple days earlier but starting on the 13th allows for the midway break to naturally fall over Christmas, instead of having to have an additional off day period for the holiday.
