Just asking, do the hosts for the WC automatically qualify? That’s how it is in the RL WC though.

Yes, they do. Their puppets don't, if applicable.

The bunnies didn't seem too cuddly for their last match. An RP extravaganza lost, a victory for fair play gained?

The [.pre][./pre] tags (remove the full stops). For instance,

Everybody still involved in the current World Cup already knows this from Discord but I'll post it here anyway:
Due to the downtime earlier today (well downtime for pretty much everybody except the lucky few, including myself, who were logged in and authenticated when gameside went down), I'll be holding off on my cutoff for a bit to give Vilita/Turori time to RP. My match against South Covello was scorinated today because we had both RPed anyway.
We will also be pushing the scorination of the 3PPO to Monday and the scorination of the World Cup 81 Final back to Tuesday.

So my half of the World Cup is done.
Thanks everyone for allowing me to co-host! Obviously, my first time. but I thoroughly enjoyed being able to read everyone's RPs. It was a true joy. Late nights and less sleep, of course, but absolutely worth it.
And I apologize for falling behind elsewhere because of being a host here(especially the NSCF) but I will get caught up tomorrow. THere are many of you I'd like to thank for helping me get to this point, so I won't name any names, but my friends and all those who've helped me- you know who you are
An incredible ride, and I'm glad to have played this role in it. Good luck to VIlita & South Covello in the final!

Reminding us of that so soon! Wear it as a badge of honor - I know I would if the situation was reversed (We still cite the fact we took The Holy Empire to ... extra time... in their otherwise "Perfect" cycle)..
Thanks to Free Republics and Banija for a smooth cup and for continuing the trend of fostering an environment that encouraged RP and good spirited fun all around - Remember, if you had fun, you've won. For anyone that didn't make the World Cup Quarter Finals, one of the things I said earlier in the tournament was that If we got to this point we'd offer up commemorative Vilaye Cans to the field so there is a signup form available in the last RP of the World Cup RP thread for those that are interested.

Congrats to our AO neighbors Vilita for winning the Final, and thanks to Banija and Free Republics for a great tourney. It was certainly a great one for the Commonwealth by any stretch of the imagination. And we even got to be the presenting sponsor for the Championship Match! So Vilita, for all you've done, here's a well deserved Hartley's Gold Label Bitter in your honor

Well-deserved, Vilita! Excellent RP content as always -- Bring it home for AO!
Congrats to both hosts for putting on one of the better tournaments of recent memory, imo. What will become of the World Cup Concert competition, if I may ask?

Congratulations to Vilita; it takes enormous effort to run two nations to such a high RP standard.

They are linked in the signature of
NSWC Signups, the OP of this thread, among others. Don't think they've been updated for post WC81 cycle quite yet, though

World Cup 80 started in April, World Cup 81 started in Augusut. Based on that I would expect World Cup 82 to start in December/January, based on the host's schedule. Signups will be open long before that.
We will also have the regional tournaments and the Under-21 World Cup in the time before WC82.
