They’re not listed in the NSWC Signups list of BoF participants and my own brief search of this forum and the community archives from Jolt doesn’t turn up any BoF involving Squornshelous.

Well the new nation would be eligible to participate in the BoF but an official link to the old nation would be controversial.

It'd be like the newly formed Argentina claiming all of Spain's old island territories despite there being a British flag on one of them: potentially delicious for RP, unless everyone just accepts it and moves on with their lives.

I stand corrected.
I did a google search on them last night, thinking the name sounded familiar from the BoF, and got a page where the information seemed to be on it, or at least so I thought. Google must have failed me (or I must have failed google), as I can't replicate that page now. It must have been another page and that I glossed over what the competition was. I sincerely apologize for my error.

For the record though, I never use the search feature on this forum as I find it awful and cumbersome.

Squornshelous made its debut in World Cup 5, before the BoF existed, and so never participated in that tournament. I have also revived the original, and have ideas that down the road it might be fun to have both countries competing, both claiming to be the real successor state to Squornshelous. I'll happily abide by whatever decision the hosts/WCC make on this issue.

If you've already participated in the BoF as Ndaku you won't be able to participate in it again, unfortunately. Signups only opened a few days ago so my guess it'd be around a few weeks until the BoF itself starts. For the WC a rough guess would be around August time, perhaps?

As a minor announcement, y'all may notice that the NSWC Signups flag has been updated.

I've polished up the design a little and more than doubled the resolution of the file itself, so it's now at the lovely highest-that-NS-can-take, vector-based quality of 321x213 pixels compared to the old 107x71 raster file that it has been since 2009 or so.

In a couple of week's time when the 2018 FIFA World Cup Winners take the trophy we will surely, as per tradition, replace the current Germany-inspired flag and replace it with one of whoever the new champs are. For this, I've also made up the flags of each of the nations in the Round of 16 that you might like a preview of, along with the Germany and Italy flags for historical purposes, too.

And I made a Nepal one for Audio just to make sure even the unusual flag bases are covered. Nepal 2022 champs confirmed.
