Yeah, once again, sorry for being a bit quicker than usual, but this was well within the bounds of the cutoff window I identified in the OP. Not to mention, Newmanistan's cutoff window is 2 hours earlier than mine, so you nations in the later batch will have to figure something out by the end of the week anyhow! Remember that you do have two days to write, as well. You don't have to leave it up to the last minute every time

Quick alert for everybody: I have work tonight, so my cutoff will likely be at the back end of the window. Like, the very back end, maybe even later. So keep that in mind when RPing tonight ... but do remember that Newmanistan's cutoffs will be much earlier. There will probably only be 44-46 hours between the MD9 and MD10/11 cutoffs, rather than 48.

Apologies for the silence from Tequilo and myself after indicating that we still intended to bid. Obviously, the deadline has passed without a bid from us; we've both found ourselves a little busier recently, so we'll be leaving this CoH the in hands of one of the pair of very capable bids that have already been presented. You'll be seeing a bid from us in the future when we're a bit more ready.

As the World Cup host, Newmanistan and I have been keeping track of all the RP that's been posted in the World Cup so far (obviously). I decided to check to see how many nations would potentially qualify for both Cup of Harmony bids, and gave this number to the hosts. I've posted this on both bids, for transparency. With the CoH voting coming soon, I just felt like this would be a help to both the potential CoH hosts and the voters to decide how to move forward.

Just a quick heads up that, given how late the two CoH bids were posted, the deadline has been pushed back 48 hours to allow for thorough questioning and discussion prior to voting. This has been done after a request from one of the bidders for such an extension.

Quebec's actions were completely uncalled for and were rather disappointing to me especially as somebody who had staunchly supported him in the controversy over the last WC he hosted. I take no position on this bid or any other bid even though I still have a vote that I won't be using because its ultimately up to those who are still participating to use their judgment.

However, I think it needs to be said that this is a completely incorrect characterization of what happened. I was chased out of this sub-forum's discord for basically taking the same position on the political discussion portion of the discord that Joe Biden now pretends to hold in a desperate attempt to save his failing campaign: that rioting, looting and other crimes are not acceptable and that the government needs to do their damned job and enforce the law against the criminals (as, to their credit, the police in Lancaster, PA have done after the local criminals decided to riot over a cop shooting, in as clear and obvious a case of self defense as there will ever be, a criminal who was trying to murder him with a knife). This is not a controversial thing to say or something that any decent person would disagree with. I do want to thank them though for helping me decide to vote for President Trump instead of doing what I usually do and voting 3rd party. You (and you know who you are) did your part, unwittingly, in helping to save the USA.

I then attempted to bring about a discussion within this community to force an honest reckoning about its intolerant far-left extremism problem and the discussion was shut down twice. I urge those who are still participating in this community and are either keeping quiet to "get along" and/or aren't involved in the discord (assuming there still are any such individuals) to speak out against it and bring about much-needed change. You don't have to allow your community's chat platform to be run by avowed Marxists (most of whom don't even live in the US) and other fringe extremists. (Sorry but its hard for me to not hope this place can someday be better when I've contributed more to it over the past 8 years than anybody else - and it isn't even close! Yet individuals who contribute little or nothing other than chasing people away for the "crime" of being to the right of Elizabeth Warren, or for you Brits Jo Swinson, are inexplicably considered more valuable by the powers that be here.) It doesn't have to be like this but the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to say and do nothing. By the way, when I first decided to test just how loony the discord was, my original plan was to launch a competing discord if necessary until I decided "fuck it, this isn't worth my time" and decided to just leave and tell the truth on the way out. Plus I had a perfect RP story to explain my departure since I'd been planning to only come back for last World Cup's finals anyway and then changed my mind after I somehow won it and found I enjoyed RPing for that short journey more than I'd enjoyed RPing in years. Only reason why I even saw this post was because I got bored during halftime of the Titans-Broncos game tonight (I'm not a Nielsen household so there's no point in me boycotting the games this season because whether I watch or not doesn't affect the ratings at all) and decided to take a look at NS Sports and just so happened to see something that needed a response from me.

I also feel that I should mention that a certain NS moderator who is also an admin on that discord server (or was when I was last on there) once mis-used their moderation powers to out one of my puppets (Ister Moniki iirc) that I was using to spy on its predecessor the IRC channel? Unless I'm mistaken, mods aren't supposed to out puppets unless they're being used to violate the tournament puppet rules or other NS site rules. They're especially not supposed to out puppets for the sake of allowing an off-site chat room where they're talking shit about people behind their backs to plug its leaks. This somehow slipped my mind last time.

Finally, many in the WC community likely never saw my RP writing my nation out of the NS Sports continuity. You can read that in the last WBC thread and are welcome to refer to it. Just don't RP the FFR as still existing in the same reality as any NS Sports tournament, being accessible from any such nation or any Republican characters still being around in the main NS Sports reality.
