Let's just say that almost none of our group mates are RPing enough.

I was literally doing a right on my computer in the car and right as I was about to submit, the car went into a dead-zone, by the time we left the new scores were up. I was too mad to do anything. I really am gonna get an RP out tonight or tomorrow.

Cutoff windows can typically be found in the first post of a tournament's thread:

You can always just check whatever the last scorination time was; if there's no announced delays, you can be pretty confident it's not going to be more than a couple hours earlier, at most.

Top two only. That makes 30 teams, plus hosts for your 32.

Having said that: Lisander is right. If you plagiarise (copy and paste text from elsewhere on the internet and pass it off as your own work) you don't get any RP bonus and hosts may choose to penalise you further.

Out of interest, the two occasions I used excerpts from my region's RP (and referenced them as such) to give context on the backstory of my nation (the prime minister is dead and his wife is missing, both of which are ongoing mysteries). I hope that didn't count as plagiarism?

I think one of the excerpts was from a yet-unpublished RP which I know would be okay

Making up new things is more fun though, hence why I usually try to do that.

That doesn't count, no, you're absolutely fine.

As a bit of a primer on what is and isn't generally regarded as plaigarism by any given hosts:

• Parodies, pastiches, etc of existing material - fine
• Writing an original RP in the style of another player or RL person - fine
• Utilising excerpts of existing material as part of original RP - usually fine, but reference sources with an OOC tag.
• Quoting another person's RP in your own - usually fine, may best to OK this with other user depending on context.
• Wholesale posting of one of your own RPs from another thread/site - not considered plaigarism, but host's call on whether to award RP. Always provide a link to the original RP.
• Copypasting someone else's work with no original material - not fine.
• Quoting an RP wholesale whilst providing little to no original material - not fine.

This is not an exhaustive or definitive list, but should cover most common questions.

For what it's worth, you've done brilliantly, and you can rightly feel proud of your team's performance. You were in a tough group, and might well finish third; don't be discouraged.

All nations in IRL football have gone through a tough time, it makes the eventual victory all the more sweeter. Makes for some good RP too, as you get the RP opportunity to weed out the fairweather fans from the loyal diehards.

For what it's worth, you've done brilliantly, and you can rightly feel proud of your team's performance. You were in a tough group, and might well finish third; don't be discouraged.
