Since neither of us anticipated the CTE (which I literally discovered just minutes before the results were posted), I feel like we need to specifically state how we're going to handle scorinating extra time and penalties for the playoffs, if needed. In that scenario, we will be utilizing the method proposed by Equestrian States and Cassadaigua in their WC67 host bid.

My cutoff time will be 8-10 AM US/Canada Eastern time on Sunday for the first leg.

The World Cup Concert Thread will be up prior to the cutoff.

Could you clarify on the use of the away goals rule after extra time if both teams score an equal, non-zero number of goals? Based on your post it seems it would be used, but the post you linked to suggests a shootout result would be used. For instance:

leg 1: Free Republics 0-0 Banija
Leg 2: Banija 0-0 Free Republics (1-1 aet)

Would that go to a shootout or would Free Republics advance on away goals?

Similar to how UEFA uses the away goals rule, it would be used during extra time as well. So in the example above, FFR would advance on away goals over yours truly.

Congratulations to Starblaydia for winning election as WCC President and to Equestrian States for being elected Vice President.

Congratulations to Cassadaigua and EQS for winning the bid for the CoH.

And Congratulations to the survivors of the playoffs, and commiserations to the defeated sides who made it that far.

I don't think I would've put money on every team qualifying for the Finals to be in the Top 50.

I'm seeing another group stage exit in my future...:)

The World Cup 81 Concert thread is now open!

This Concert is open to all 192 nations that entered World Cup 81, including the 160 that did not qualify for the World Cup Finals.

The idea here is sort of similar to WorldVision but voting is voluntary (i.e. you won't be disqualified from the competition if you post a song and don't vote) and it is exclusively for World Cup nations and taking place ICly in the Free Republics the night before our World Cup opening match against Equestrian States.

Cup of Harmony Schedule
The group stage will consist of each team playing the others in their group once in a single round robin. Equestrian States will scorinate his groups (Groups A-D) at approximately 11:00 PM EDT (03:00 UTC). Cassadaigua will scorinate her groups (E-H) at approximately 8:00 PM EDT (00:00 UTC). The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.

Saturday, October 6: Match Day 1 - 1v4, 2v3
Monday, October 8: Match Day 2 - 4v3, 1v2
Wednesday, October 10: Match Day 3 - 2v4, 3v1
Friday, October 12: Round of 16 - A1vB2, C1vD2, B1vA2, D1vC2, E1vF2, G1vH2, F1vE2, H1vG2
Sunday, October 14: Quarterfinals - SR1vSR2, SR3vSR4, SR5vSR6, SR7vSR8
Tuesday, October 16: Semifinals - QF1vQF2, QF3vQF4
Thursday, October 18: Final/3PPO - SF1vSF2

Cup of Harmony participants thus have a bit under three days from now to get their rosters and any pre-MD1 RPs in, the exact time of which will depend on which group they were drawn in.

Question: If my RP plans were related to the World Cup (and my sponsorship application there), but my team plays in the CoH - would it be acceptable to post them in the WC thread and link to them/copy them for the CoH, or vice versa?

I don't really have the time to do double RP's and obviously wouldn't want to near-abandon the CoH, but I'd also like to use the sponsorship opportunity despite not being in the WC proper.

I don't really have the time to do double RP's and obviously wouldn't want to near-abandon the CoH, but I'd also like to use the sponsorship opportunity despite not being in the WC proper.

Continuing to post relevant RPs in the WC thread even when eliminated is 100% made of win.

Cross-posting the two threads is "okay", as you're still only trying to earn the bonus for one competition and not two. If you're on an RP kick with the sponsorships keep it up, no matter which thread it's more appropriate in.

I'm usually anti-cross posting when it comes to "this is just a Newswires post in a WC thread" style, but this isn't it, so go for it.
